Fantastic! Unique offerings done well. Will definitely go again. The tuna sandwiches were perfectly cooked filets. The unique salad offerings are exciting. We went for lunch which is a different menu from dinner. Service was great.

Went here for the brunch and the selection was very small. I ordered a pancake breakfast and they were extremely bland. Will not be retuning.

Since I last made a review here, the original owners have taken back the Living Room! This past weekend we double dated with the couple who leads our Running Group and are great friends of ours! Tapas style was the order of the night! New Orleans Jambalaya Skewers, Black & Blue Nachos, Wild Mushroom Grilled Flatbread, and a Mango & Brie Quesadilla accompanied by great wines and the Mary Margaret Marquis dessert made the stay delightful! Rene & John Johnson are extremely inviting and, yes, they welcome you into their living room every night! I will try to overstay my welcome! ;-)

I've been to The Living Room twice now and have really, really enjoyed it. The first visit was with my boyfriend for dinner and I got the kobe sliders. They were delicious and worked more as a meal than a tapa. The service was quick and friendly. The second time I visited, I went for a baby shower and they had a great menu for the party. I chose the chicken salad sandwich and it was delicious and super filling! Perfect for a lunchtime lady-like meal. ;)

Service was awful. We went with another couple and I had to go walk to the waiter to get us the water and plates we asked for 10 min prior. He seemed to be ignoring our table the entire night. Food was decent but I wouldn't call it tapas. 3 of us had completely finished our meals before the 4th even received his. We only got an "apology" after we spoke to the manager. Next time I want to eat in Dunedin, I definitely will choose one of the other restaurants.

I've had lunch here a few times and it has never disappointed! Their sandwiches and burgers are large and their sweet potato fries are amazing! The service hasn't always been great but the food is too good not to go back!

I didn't get a chance to eat here, just came to the bar on a Saturday night as they were closing early. The bartender was super friendly, despite having to close and still made us a drink. Bartenders can be a little rude during the end of a shift, but the staff we spoke to here were all very friendly and invited us back to try the food, which we will do.

The food was generally good, BUT... I ordered the caramelized apple and brie french toast, which comes with honey and macadamia nuts. Sounds yummie, macadamia nuts are my favorite and are hard to find! Well, the brie was almost non-existent and the nuts were casually substituted by plain cashews. It really bothers me if they take it upon themselves to make these changes for cheaper ingredients. It's never like "oh we were out of peanuts, we put macadamia's in there instead..." Before we ordered my friend asked about a substitution and the waitress went on and on (and on) about how that is not possible because they only have the very specific ingredients for this days menu in the kitchen. I guess they don't! So: be sure to double-check that what you order is actually what they will make for you...

They call it international american tapas... But the portions are regular to large single meals, not really sure what to make of this place. Not a big fan of loud live music while eating dinner.

Went for brunch on a Sunday morning right when they opened at 10. Food was decent - ordered eggs, bacon, sausage and hash browns and no complaints on that. The service however was mediocre at best. Server didn't offer coffee, we requested 15-20 min after being seated. Kept having to ask for things like salt, syrup, etc. to the server's defense it did look like they were understaffed so probably wasn't his fault.

  • Mary M.

Love the atmosphere and the food is very tasty. The bartenders know how to make a delightful cocktail! Try the cucumber, basil and mint vodka drink on their drink menu! soooo good! We tried the chicken empanadas and they were a bit over cooked and very greasy =(

Clearly a popular place, but like all places that are rated decently, you get the occasional bad experience and guess what.... This is it. Picked the place based on yelp reviews and went there late one evening (Thursday) 9:45 to be precise, but they took us. Our server said the kitchen needed our orders in before 10pm. And that was fine. Unfortunately though what she should have said was the kitchen closes at 10: so we ended up with multiple hot tapas dishes piling up, when we didn't want them. No comment, just pile them on the table. So this should be added as a tip - if you're late to this place only order cold plates, cos they're all going to end up that way by the time you get to eat them! It was just rude.

Friendly bar in downtown Dunedin. Nice selection of beers on tap. My nachos were pretty typical bar food. I enjoyed the live music at night.

First of all, we had great service. Joshua was engaging and endearing. Second, the food was delicious. The beef tartare was presented beautifully and tasted as good as it looked. The crab cakes were full of crab not filler. Third, the atmosphere was cozy and comfortable. This is definitely a place I will return to.

Pros: Excellent food, creative and eclectic menu, nice, cozy atmosphere and good entertainment. Cons: understaffed resulting in sluggish, inattentive service. On an extremely busy recent Saturday night, there was only one server in the jam-packed ample sized bar area. She did her best with a great attitude to boot but one person can only do so much. Overpriced small portions. Lots of fancy food-embellishment presentation techniques but not enough substance.Spare me the fancy squiggles on the plate and give me a decent sized crab cake! I know that they present themselves as a tapas restaurant but they charge an-average of $17-$20 for a small plate, I think the portion size should be adjusted to a racion for that price. Even their so called entrees are skimpy. No salad or anything with the mains. Everything is a la carte. Wine averages $10.00 a glass. I had two drinks and shared three plates with a friend. After spending $60.00 each with tax and tip I was still hungry. What a pity! I had to go home and raid the fridge!

Meditaranian Plate-bland cheese spread, wafer thin breaded fried dry eggplant(I had to ask what I was eating).yummy interesting hot fruit pepper relish, and thinly sliced veggies w/lovely dressing. No olives as the menu stated. Not something I would recommend . Dreamy moist Kobe sliders, delicious wine and cozy atmosphere.

Hands down the best restaurant in Dunedin. Tuna flatbread is to die for. Homemade desserts. Tapas style. There is just so many reasons for me to love this restaurant. Give them a try and I'll bet you'll find more than a few reasons for you to love them as well. Kudos to Chef Bruno and Sus Chef Coleman for coming up with unique and delicious specials. You've found a lifelong customer. Thank you for such wonderful memories.

Wonderfully quaint! Incredible atmosphere!! Awesome food!! Slow slow service during the day(under staffed) so come at night or later in the day! Good food, very laid back atmosphere great location! What's not to like? :)

  • Tony M.

Actually like the place it's a nice restaurant with nice music and the server was polite and friendly, however I gave three stars because the food comes out all at once regardless of whether there is cold food like salads are hot foods like calamari so everything kind of goes to room temperature before you're done with it also they asked us like four times if we were done even though we had food half eaten on the table so I'm not sure why they asked... Could be because they want to turn the tables however the restaurant was half-empty

Unexpected wonderful restaurant in downtown Dunedin. Food, service, ambiance, all terrific. Pomme frites with a Gorgonzola fondue dipping sauce amazing. Mediterranean tapas flatbread plate fantastic. My son got crab cakes, I had the muscle in a coconut, ginger broth and my wife got the cedar plank salmon. All top notch. I got their own draft micro brew. For a tapas place the plates should be a little smaller and the prices a couple of bucks less, but overall this place is on our list. A great night had by all. Thank you

Our favorite restaurant in Dunedin! We've tried most of the menu and it's all delicious. My favorite has to be the beef lettuce wraps. Lovely outdoor patio when the weather is nice.

Great place for small gatherings and sharing. The mood and setting ate relaxing and elegant and the staff are quite attentive and cultured. Stop by and pass your plates with friends or family :-)

4 of us went for dinner, not very busy. My order was brought first, the next person received their order 10 minutes later, another 15 minutes went by and still nothing for the remaining 2 guests who had ordered herb- crusted beef. Server inquired about the orders. Finally arrived. The beef was not herb crusted, server would look into it, no explanation. Not sure what happened, very strange.

I've been here several times and haven't had a bad meal yet. The presentation is always beautiful and the taste yummy!!!! My servers have been knowledgeable and caring, no matter how busy it has been. I also love the larger portion sizes! Oh, and I can bring my dogs and sit on the patio!!

**UPDATE** It just so happens that my work hosted an evening meeting at Living Room less than 1 week after my first visit, so I had another chance to try it again. This time I was MUCH more impressed. There were plenty of servers available to take our orders and the food came out fairly quickly (within 10-15 mins of ordering). There was a fantastic live band playing which provided a great feel and entertainment for the evening. Since I was with 4 people this time, we ordered multiple tapas and shared them all. The black and blue nachos are outstanding, they're piled up with bacon, cheese, chicken and pico de gallo. I also really enjoyed the Marbled Potatoes Au Gratin, the gorgonzola fondue and gouda gratin on top gave it an excellent flavor. Overall, I had a much better impression of the restaurant this time and would like to go back for Sunday brunch.

I have had 2, 3 and 4 star experiences here; hence the mixed reviews I am seeing. The service and food are hit or miss, though always pricey and slow. The drinks are well made and the bartenders well versed in rarities, plus they have a ladies night with buy one get one free drinks. I have seen some really amazing music here, though more often just good music. The indoor/outdoor environment is nice (on a weather friendly day,) and much more attention to detail has been paid to the fine decor than the food or how to move customers along. Night time generally brings an obscenely long wait time, and a packed vibe that will serve the lone wolf or small party, but large spaces are a rarity here.

If you want different, and I mean you are an adventurous eater, this is near the top of the list. In fact you may be hard pressed to have seen a similar menu in all of Pinellas county. Atmosphere 75 Dated and musty looking, yet comfortable Service 75 Nothing to write home about Food 85 Eclectic and very interesting international cuisine Value 75 It was a tad high - depending on your choice I can not emphasize the creativity of the menu - from Korea to Morocco. I didn't particularly like my choice but, at the least ,it was interesting and initially had potential. The Livingroom is an experience, albeit it does have plenty of competition in the area. A word about serving. It is a Tapas restaurant ( everybody shares the choice) so dishes are served when each tapas is cooked. Impossible to serve everyone at one time unless, of course, they share the served tapas dish. Interesting! Try it. You might like it.

I really cannot believe I am about to do this. I wanted this place to be awesome. In short, it isn't. This place had the worst live music I have ever heard in my entire life. No joke. We literally lifted our glasses when he would go on break. It was also RIDICULOUSLY loud. We were shouting over our delayed drink orders... That being said, the food was great. It just wasn't worth the suffering we went through to get it. If you go--go on a weeknight without music and order the Korean beef lettuce wraps.

This is one of our favorite restaurants. Last night we went with friends and I had the mahi mahi special with black rice and it was fantastic. The drinks and were great and we had a terrific waiter named Chris. We've had lunch and brunch there recently and both were also very good.

The Living Room is our favorite place to have brunch in Dunedin! The nachos are great as well, but I do think the dinner menu could have a few less eccentric options. This is a great place worth the trip in...especially for shrimp and grits at brunch!

  • Michaela K.

We've been twice and have had a great experience both times, though the dinner menu was far better than when we went for brunch. The Kobe Beef Sliders were amazing as were the gorgonzola potatoes. For dessert we had the espresso flan, and it was delicious. Brunch was good, but it wasn't as amazing as dinner. The atmosphere is a mix of funky elegance. It's a really clean and trendy place - perfect for Downtown Dunedin! We will be back ... multiple times. :)

I was pleasantly surprised by The Living Room. My wife and I were actually in a heated debate trying to decide if we should try a new place for dinner or not. We ended up choosing anew place for us. The living room is a very modern restaurant with a cool bar inside and live music. We hose to sit outside where they occupy a corner Main Street. You can choose from a high top or normal table when sitting outside. The restaurant is a tapas style menu which I enjoy. We started out with a raspberry mango bri quesadilla. It was good nothing amazing but it was improved by a side of tzatziki like sauce. Next up we tried the mushroom flatbread which was really good. For our last dish we tried the tempura shrimp. This was actually my favorite dish. They nailed the tempura batter. It was light and crisp it was. Not soggy and it was hot like it was made to order. We finished off our meal with the mixed berry dessert in philo. I really enjoyed this dish because it was nice and light without being a heavy over sweetened dessert. I do have to say I ordered coffee with my dessert and it is the largest mug of coffee I've ever been served in a restaurant, comically large in fact. I read some of the other reviews saying it took a long time to get food. We did not experience this issue. In fact our food was served quickly. E did arrive around 530-6 so this may have helped because we were the first people seated outside. I was surprised to learn this business is owned by the same person that owns the smoke house. I say surprised because I thought the food and atmosphere at the smokehouse was horrible while I loved the experience at The Living Room. Take a look through the pictures I posted a pic of every dish we had and the outside seating area except for the dessert. Happy yelping!

Every time I don't go here to eat, I regret it. They seriously have the BEST. FOOD. AROUND. They market themselves as tapas but be aware....most dishes on the menu can fill you right up - no need to order a few (unless of course you're in the mood to get your inner foodie on). I've gone for brunch and lunch but my favorite is dinner. They just switched up their menu and they out did themselves (lobster avocado cones? Delicious). My only complaints are....service can be a little slow at times. I've gone when it's packed on a Saturday night and received faster service than when I've gone at lunch and am one of two tables in the whole restaurant. Also, their drinks can be a bit pricey compared to the surrounding area. They have deals on drinks for brunch but order liquor with dinner and you'll definitely be paying more.

I had a really good time sitting outside sharing tapas with some of my best friends. I would highly recommend everything we had and shared: Sautéed Haricot Verts Stuffed Portobello Kobe Beef Sliders Korean-style Bbq Beef Wraps (really really liked these) Cheese plate Service was very typical and correct for tapas, a few come out at a time, so that was all good. We did however have trouble flagging the waiter for drinks and the bill. He was a bit short with us as well, but to his credit he seemed to be responsible for the entire patio which every table was seated. I really liked the decor and inside as well. I would for sure go back, it made a great night.

Yum. I had been looking forward to this restaurant for a while, since my best friend had sent over a tentative "itinerary" for my visit. And it did not disappoint. The decor is funky, Asian-y, and kitschy, but the music is nice and the entire ambiance is quite swanky and cool. It definitely felt like the living room of one of your bohemian world traveler friends. The wait staff were all pleasant and polite. But the true gem? The food. Obviously. These tapas-style dishes are meant for sharing, even though I didn't want to share some of them... Our party of four started off with the nachos (we loved them so much, we ordered ANOTHER plate after we finished the first), and moved onto Korean BBQ lettuce wraps, Greek salad, and Jambalaya skewers. Everything was succulent, tasty, and fresh. And we ended the evening with a fantastic flan. Writing about this makes me want to book another ticket down to Tampa just to go back to this restaurant... and to visit my friends, of course. :o)

  • Ed C.

The menu is limited- few Tapas. Very small and highly priced portions. You could have a meal many places for the price of one or two tapas. The service was mostly slow and inattentive. My Tapas came 20 minutes before my Wife's. By the time hers arrived, iI was finished, which threw the whole meal out of kilter. Server was unconcerned . There was hardly anyone in the place at the time which makes it worse. The tapas are average. We have never returned. Too many better places around to do that to ourselves.

A fun and entertaining place to eat! This place has a calender on their website for live music. I love variety and the tapas are excellent to order several to share for the evening. The atmosphere is relaxing and enjoyable!

What a great find! I really enjoyed dining by the fountain on their sidewalk cafe. Highly recommended is the ginger martini. Super yummy was the shrimp with andouille sausage grits. The apple brie french toast is good yet not amazing. Service is super friendly and they really care that customers are happy.

I can't even say how fantastic my food was, I'm a seafood person and have ate my weight in Salmon but this dish here is absolutely fantastic. So sad it's not close to home or I would be a very frequent costumer.

My favorite spot in downtown Dunedin. Large portions for tapas style dining. High quality ingredients and prep and a nice environment. 2 for 1 drinks and house wines during happy hour which lasts until 7. The Korean BBQ lettuce wraps and the perfect pairing cheese plate are my favorite. Other great dishes include stuffed portobellos, Mediterranean plate, Brie quesadillas, curried veggie empanadas, lobster poutine, the list continues. Highly recommend.

A kitschy little place to grab a meal, it apparently has won a lot of awards in the local area. We stopped for lunch, as the Scot needed to check out our idea of a 'Scottish' town - he thought it was quaint, , at about 2pm, and found that the patio was full but the inside was fairly empty. Inside was dark, but it didn't remind me of a living room more like a librsry. We sat near a bookcase, it had a box, I snooped, now apparently I have a date at midnight with someone who will be wearing a red dress and heels. The Food Was VERY good. I had the house salad and 1/2 of a chicken salad sandwich. The sandwich was a touch smoky, a touch spicy, but it was so full of meat that it kept spilling out of my sandwich and onto my plate. The Scot indulged in a burger with grilled onions and cheese with sweet potato fries. He said it was quite tasty. Given the chance I'd certainly come back, as the lunch menu is limited.

This place has a very fun and relaxed atmosphere. The service is attentive, and the food was delicious. These are portions to share here. We ate inside...although the decorations seem a bit off; this may be what they were going for. We had a groupon discount which helped our check size. This place is not cheap. I would definitely go back.

  • Laura R.

Its dark and cozy atmosphere makes the Living Room a great spot for date night, although occasionally the music can be too loud. The service is about average (nothing really stood out here), but the food was very good: steak tartare with micro greens, caper berries, olives and gherkins; the "perfect pairing" cheese plate with strawberry purée, mixed berries and grapes; roasted asparagus with quinoa and red pepper; and an enormous portion of braised short ribs -- all were deemed "delicious", so I plan to return for more. In terms of food quality, this would be one of the better places to try in the immediate area.

Good drinks. TERRIBLE service. 2 stars only because the drinks were good. My friend and i decided to sit at the bar. We waited for 3-5 minutes while the bartender (larger bald guy) walked around, talking to his co-workers and changing the tv channels. There were 3 other people sitting at the bar, they were not slammed by any stretch. I finally had to loudly say, excuse me? When he went to walk past us again. He turned as he kept walking and said yeah? We almost got up and left and probably should have. I said, we would like to order a drink. He took our orders, dropped the drinks off and never came back. We had to ask a server for our check. This guy was flat out rude. I'll never be back to The Living Room.

I have had slow service before at dinner but today I went because a friend had a gift card. We waited almost an hour and were not given menus so we left after a drink. I haven't been here in awhile and will not go back anytime soon!

5 stars for service 3 stars for food Was super surprised by how big the restaurant is and the awesome dark dining room - I thought it was just the patio/bar that you can see from the street - why have they been hiding that groovy dark room from me?? ;) Shared a Green Goddess salad (mixed greens, Gorgonzola, avocado slices, dried cherries, candied walnuts, tomatoes, shallots, herb buttermilk dressing) - good overall but something clashed a bit in some bites and I think it was the cinnamon on the candied walnuts causing the issue - the walnuts were delicious by themselves and not at all a deal-breaker. Had the The Black & Blue sandwich (roast beef, portabello, caramelized onions, blue cheese aioli, white cheddar, on a brioche roll). The roast beef was awesome - not fatty at all and a nice rosemary flavor. The rest of the sandwich, not so much - very greasy, not a good bun choice for a hearty sandwich, and again - flavors clashing a bit (onions were really sweet). Absolutely wonderful server!

Nice place well distributed and the food was very good, we ordered the Pork Tamal and thr Chicken Empanadas everything was delicious. Server was great and prices good. Only reason I give them 4 stars is for the small variety of local brewed beer. Honestly it turns in to one of our favorite spots in Dunedin.

I am directing this to the owners. I beg you please, have a talk with your staff about treating customers like they're happy that they are there and not an inconvenience. My husband and I have been going to The Living Room since it opened in the other location. We love this place! The last five times the service has been atrocious. Truly uncomfortable. The servers almost appeared agitated that they have to wait on us. Along with the poor customer service, the food quality has seem to have gone down considerably. Whatever disconnect between the food quality and the service is, I hope it gets resolved soon so my husband and I can continue to go enjoy one of our favorite spots for date night.

  • Kelleigh M.

My main squeeze and I came here after dinner to grab a drink. I can tell why it's called "the Living Room". You step in and feel like you're in someone's house. Dark, rich colors, couches, dim lighting, live music and a cozy vibe. We sat at the bar and he ordered a beer. Their tap selection was average-this was a much older crowd, so having a large beer menu probably wouldn't appeal to their demographic. It was a very interesting crowd. Definitely a lot of locals and regulars. From the food that I saw, it looked pretty good. We did peruse the menu and found the prices to be around $20-$24/entree. Would we return? Sure if we were in the area, but I can't see us driving out there just for the Living Room.

Went here for my birthday last night, had a great time. Server was fantastic, food was amazing! We started with the nachos....chicken, jalapeños, cheese, blue nachos...so good! Followed up with beef poutine, the meat was perfectly fine, melted in my mouth. Finished the night with the chocolate mousse dessert and the peanut butter dessert....both so good! I can't wait to go back and try some more of their tapas dishes!

  • Andrew D.

I've eaten here so many times that all I can tell you is that the food prep is first rate- saying this as a NYC food guy- even something as everyday as nachos is kicked up w bleu cheese!!! Mon dieu! Service is friendly wo being intrusive, the servers are excellent guides to the menu The owner is on site most of the week, and strikes the perfect balance between attention to detail and unobtrusiveness in her quest to make sure that all her guests have a memorable night On occasion the nightly live music might overpower, but if you mention it to your server they will bring it to the attention of the manager or owner and accommodations will be made Arrive open to having a great night and you won't leave disappointed- not JUST a dinner spot, but a destination for a great evening .

This is our Sunday spot. The staff knows it's Sunday because we show up. So far everything has been extremely delicious and our regular waiter Michael knows my husband's order before he orders it. The bar staff makes my pomegranate mimosa prefect . Love the brunch but tapas at night with a group of friends is pretty nice also.

I liked it, the small plates are huge. Food was great the service was average, not bad. I would go back.

  • Billy E.

Food was above average. Service average. A little pricey. I would prefer if the portions were consistent. Some of the "small plates" were quite large, others were quite small. It's hard to tell from the menu which is which. One plus is there are many things to try and the range of different styles is quite impressive.

  • Christopher M.

Great outdoor seating, but that's about it. More of an overpriced sandwiches shop, than a tapas bar. The food is okay, can't give it anymore than that. The servers act like they are better than you, and have their nose in the air. Anything you ask for seems like you are putting them out. Been here twice, and there are too many good places in downtown Dunedin to waste a third attempt.

The living room in downtown Dunedin is a very nice restaurant and popular hangout. They have delicious food and great service. You can dine in or outside with a view of the busy downtown. Its a nice spot for dinner or drinks. The environment is very clean and beautiful. I definitely recommend this place. Amazing Tapas in a wonderful, classy, yet relaxing atmosphere.

Next to the mad genius in the kitchen who produces scrumptious mouthwatering dishes the best thing about the living room are the people. One of the runners named Nancy waited on us one rare evening and because of her knowledge of the menu our whole experience was taken to a higher level. The barbecue beef short ribs were above and beyond expectation. tempura shrimp, the beet salad chocolate mousse cake I am working my way through the menu as I write...if you can handle a little heat try the cocktail that they have designed called the spicy mistress a designer drink like no other! I love the tomato bisque soup it is served with a hint of Gouda cheese and accompanied by a little crostini that has caramelized onions and smoke Gouda; I wish I could get the supersize version of that crostini!!! Chris with the caramelized pears is a masterpiece...I have had the privilege of dining and some of the finest restaurants in the world from Hong Kong to New York to Chicago... All I have to say is this little find the Living Room in Dunedin Florida is a gem!! I bow to the chef!!! Eva A. The only thing I would ask is that the chef please turn up the air conditioning for us middle-age gals!! Los Angeles, Ca.

Great food! The black and blue nachos were amazing as an appetizer definitely recommend that. I ordered the vegetable curry empanadas (an appetizer) as my dinner and it was perfect! The salads were also perfect size to share as an appetizer as well. Definitely will be checking this place out again!

Myself and a friend went here last night for a "Ladies Night" and met 4 other ladies. We all ordered food and drinks. I had a mushroom flatbread, which was yummy! I also had a Green Tea martini that was GREAT! My friend had quinoa with a side of salmon, which she demolished, and she knows good food. I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 because of 2 things. They bring the food orders out at different time because the menu says they should be shared. I think it's a personal choice to share. I don't want a restaurant deciding how I should enjoy my meal, and it made it awkward for all concerned since none of us got our food at the same time. Secondly, I ordered a second martini since the first was soooo good. The second one tasted completely different. It was way more lemony than green tea. Not bad, just not as yummy as my first. I would definitely go back though.

I'm not sure why I've never been to Downtown Dunedin, but it's awesome. The Living Room on Main was 90% of that conclusion. It is just an overall great spot to soak up a little small town beach community that seems to be thriving. We were immediately seated outside around a fire on a busy Friday night. Our waiter was helpful in explaining how the kitchen (centered around tapas) worked and that if we chose to order those, that they would come out as they were prepared. We opted only to share an order of the truffle fries. They were good but the sauce they came with to dip in........holy mother of the lord. No words. We proceeded to pour that magic on everything else. My girlfriend and I split two flatbreads and both were outstanding. If I were to suggest anything on the menu that was delicious and relatively inexpensive when compared to the other menu items, I'd say these were the way to go. Between 10-12$, we got the Pear/ Gorgonzola which came with a mountain of arugula salad on top. That was my favorite because the flavors were just unique and well balanced but the wild mushroom was the other we ordered and was a little more hearty. Both were excellent and I definitely think we were the winners of the menu game. Another friend got the mango quesadilla and crab cake and liked both. The food was excellent, the atmosphere was excellent, and the staff was friendly and not pretentious. Woohoo! THAT is as good as it gets!

Excellent knowledgeable server . Was very helpful and totally on the ball! Atmosphere is perfect ambiance and very eclectic I love this place and the food is always amazing . Loved how our sever also split and separated all our leftovers instead of mushing it all together. It's the small details that matter most sometimes. Live music too

Great Bloody Mary. Truly. The food was good, definitely a solid 3 star experience. The Bloody Mary scored this place an extra star. The place is cute and trendy. The crowd is middle aged and casual to nice attire. The bar area has live music, it was jazz when we were there. This would be a nice place for an evening out with the spouse or maybe a first date. Moderately priced, romantic enough without being over the top, and the wait staff was lovely. We had tapas, not dinners. The Ahi was pretty good. The tapas were so heavy that we had no room for dinner and actually left in a little pain, bellies full with food-babies.

I have been here several times under both the original owners and the new owners. Hubby and I usually go for dinner but I have been for brunch on the weekends as well. I have always enjoyed my meals here though I do prefer dinner tapas based menu to the brunch menu. The last time I went with a group for brunch. Service was very attentive and food came out quickly. I had the Shrimp and Grits which was good. The sauce has a slight kick to it but could use some hot sauce. The grits were quite thick and could have been used to hang wallpaper but they were seasoned well and very filling. The only thing I didn't care but was the sausage it was a disappointment to the rest of the dish and I did not eat most of the it. Every time I have gone in the evening the food has been yummy and the service has been great.

I enjoy the Living Room the most when the Brittish guy and the blonde lady are playing. I think their names are Tony and Kim. They make the environment so much enjoyable. The food and service are sometimes inconsistent, however, I feel like every time I am eating there with those two playing I always leave impressed and wanting more. They have good cocktails and food. Def try the nachos. Call and ask when Tony and Kim are playing. You will be glad you did!!

I am reading some negative comments here and simply can't believe! This place is soooooo good. Nice atmosphere, great food, good live music ... Classy. If you re looking to stuff your face with animal size meal burgers and fries, where bunch of kids run around - go to your local Applebee's ... Yes, the food doesn't come out in a fast food drive through fashion but it's tastefully made and presented. We found this place last weekend and here we are again! Enough said!

Our dog was soooo happy to be able to sit and join us for dinner. Being new to the area, it's nice to be able to sit at a place where people are comfortable to approach us and talk to our dog. Such a friendly downtown hot spot. We will be back.

This place is underrated. The food had a lot of interesting flavor combinations, but they all worked together quite well. The menu is decently priced, and although they serve "tapas", the portions are generous. Go, order a throwback cocktail, and enjoy the live music.

Food is good but the service is very poor. We were the only ones in the bar area but it still took 10 minutes to get a drink. I think the bartender's conversation with the other staff member must have been really important. This did not happen once but every time I have been there. Many other places to go instead.

Very nice place, Classy, clean and trendy... I highly recommend The Living Room for the Tapas. And truly you get what you pay for and it's well worth it. We started out with the Perfect Pairing, which is Fruit and Cheeses, then my wife had the Sesame Shrimp Tempura and we shared the Chicken Satay. I had the New Orleans Jambalaya Skewers. Everything was excellent plain and simple. I would recommend this joint for big get togethers because they have like a separate room I think for that sort of thing. We will definitely be back to try other things, at least I will be trying new things. I only give 3 stars because I need to try other things here.

I would probably go 4.5 if we could do half stars. Sunday brunch. At my new friend Susie's recommendation my first meal here was a delicious egg salad "sandwich" which came without the brioche bun upon my request. I was expecting a scoop of the traditional smooshed eggs, mayo, and pickle relish with maybe a bit more flare. Instead a pretty plate of sliced hard boiled eggs, tomato, spring mix, wafer thin rings of purple onion, thick bacon and these long thin dill pickle curls was put before me. This ain't my grandma's, mama's or even my own egg salad. If I still ate bread I bet the bun would have been awesome too! A very nice mustard aioli topped it off. Hubby's shrimp and grits he reports were great too. Service was strangely slow for us having arrived at the tail end of the brunch rush and there not being that many people there, but we were a large party of 7 and these things sometimes happen with large tables. The company was good though and our server took care of us well during the wait. We will definitely be back!

Staying on Clearwater Beach for a few days of R&R, we were drawn to the Dunedin area because there were a couple of local brewpubs that are there...but it turned out they weren't open on Monday, so we decided to drive the main street and just pick a place. My wife and I were drawn to the decor and ambiance of the Living Room and after taking a quick glance at the menu posted outside and seeing they had quite a variety of options, we decided to give it a shot. Didn't even know it was tapas until the server gave us the rundown of the menu. Our previous experience with some tapas restaurants is that the flavors are typically wonderful, but the portion sizes can vary drastically depending on which options you order. That said, the fact this was a tapas restaurant was a nice surprise to us and since we were on vacation it was nice change from typical restaurant fare. We were a bit disappointed that one of the first things our server shared was that they were out of scallops and Kobe sliders - these would have been a couple of our choices. In the end, it worked out because what we did order was amazing and the portion sizes for two people were large making it all a great value. We ordered the Pork Empanadas, the Chicken Nachos and the Greek Goddess salad. I thought we might end up adding a fourth dish later in the meal (depending on the sizes of these dishes) - HA! Definitely NOT necessary... One odd thing was that the salad was the last item to arrive - didn't expect that, but it didn't necessarily impact the enjoyment of dinner. The flavors were awesome and the only thing that eventually got to me was that both the salad and nachos used pretty large portions of Gorgonzola cheese. Don't get me wrong, the Gorg totally made each individual dish fantastic, but since we ordered both dishes it was a bit much. Our fault, not theirs. Although the weather was a bit rainy while we were there, the outdoor patio looks like a fantastic area to enjoy a meal.

Upon entering the Living Room I was excited to see such an eclectic array of comfort items that immediately made me feel comfortable. I ordered the sangria, which was delicious! While choosing my meal from a confusing menu, I was able to low my eyes to settle on my surroundings more. I was disappointed at the aging of the booths held together with tape and had to exchange my chair with another just incase it broke... It scared me how 'rickety' the chair was! We ordered the potatoes gratin - potatoes with grilled cheese.. Not kidding! And the carnitas... One piece of meat in an over crispy tortilla. The food was not bad, but my expectations were higher than what I received. Tony our server was attentive and knowledgable! Would I go back? Probably not? The wow factor was missing :(

I had a Greek omelet and my friend had a Greek Salad. I think a 3 star would be too harsh. I was able to take my pup. The atmosphere is nice. The server a bit slow, but I have no idea how many tables inside he had either. The food was pretty good, their menu was big and I want to go back and try more stuff. I would eat there again. It's 4 cause the service and the food didn't completely wow me, but it was good. I loved the cheddar biscuits sooo much too. I think they have some fancy name though.

Highly recommended and highly disappointing. The front of the house said they'd call when our table was available. We walked around n never got a call. Upon returning we were seated immediately. They had obviously forgotten us The service was just fine. The "poutine" was more like the Peruvian dish lomo saltado. Their gravy was more of a broth which quickly absorbed into the fries making it all mush. Supposed "cheese curds" were mozzarella balls. Not the salty chewy cheese curds traditionally in poutine. The lamb tajine was just fine. Overcooked and lackluster in flavor but the quinoa underneath was nice. Shrimp corn dog was oversized, awkward to eat, and a little greasy but not a fail. The salmon tacos reminded me if burger kings whopper sauce. Calamari was bland and the chicken empanadas were so over spiced the chicken wasIndiscernible. The decor left much to be desired but that doesnt affect me in any way. Good food is good food and this was not that. Happy travels my friends

Really enjoyed my first visit here. I liked the idea of tapas because I wasn't super hungry. Started with a nice mojito. The beet salad was excellent and larger than expected. I couldn't finish the order of chicken empanadas. I decided to take them home for a tasty snack. I also couldn't finish the peach crisp which had a homemade granola topping. All in all good food, a little pricey but good quality. I will go back.

Strolling around in the quaint downtown Dunedin, you can see several cool places just like The Living Room. We decided to give it a shot and try their brunch menu. The day was a little overcast so we decided to sit inside. The decoration was perfect. We waited for our server for quite sometime, when he showed he was not as a "Buddy"(his name) a person can be. We asked for the Mimosas of the Moment specials and he water down the idea, but we still decided to the Mimosas of the Moment and there were EXCELLENT. After a while we got our food, Huevos Rancheros and Henny and Johnny. My Huevos Rancheros were simple PERFECT!. My friend's Henny and Johhny two pancakes were awesome but the fried Cornish Hen was over fried and tasted like it was waiting for someone order it. I want to try the Living Room at another hour, maybe I will understand why everyone else is giving the four stars.

I have eaten at the Living Room a number of times. I live in downtown Dunedin and It is probably one of my favorite restaurants in Dunedin. I enjoy it so much that I called to make a reservation for 14 people for my birthday this weekend. After speaking with someone on the waitstaff I was informed that they do not make reservations on the weekend. I guess i understand. The business is all about turning tables, getting people in and out quickly to make a profit. But for a party as large as this i figured they would make an exception. i asked to speak to a manager, who I was quickly informed is away on a cruise and the owner just happened to be out of town too. I never write bad reviews on here, but the total disregard to customer loyalty and satisfaction is appalling. To the Living Room Management- you should be flattered if people want to spend important evenings in your establishment. You should encourage it and not turn away a group of hungry and very thirsty Dunedin residents.

I finally tried the sister restaurant to the beloved Dunedin Smokehouse, The Living Room. Granted, their food is absolutely anything but similar, so I didn't quite know what to expect. Here is my overall experience: -The atmosphere is wonderful. They did a great job. -The food takes forever to come out (main reason they are getting 4 stars) -We ate the weekend brunch, and the food was fabulous. I had the huevos rancheros and it was amazing. I was able to get 2 meals out of it. -They are also very dog friendly outside. I would definitely eat here again. I would love to try the lunch or dinner menu. However, I will not wait until I am famished before I arrive, as I know that the food will take a long time to come.

First thing waitress says when I ask for water is ...there's a 2 drink minimum...ok... Or ordering food! Really saying it in that condescending way. Well I respond I'm not sitting here just to drink water. She said o boss told me to tell every one. I look at menu and I don't get the tapas concept here. There r no tapas there r flatbread fancy way of saying pizza, salads, sandwiches $ 12-15 if u want a meat on salad or $ 8-12 for sandwiches. For lunch, I choose a flatbread Philly steak w peppers and gorgonzola fondue on side. Super Dooper time later I get my fd, super Dooper time later my check well still waiting for it. My flatbread was gd but not writing home about it nor inviting my friends to come here in the future. Cool location nice area but service stinks. Food mediocre.

Had brunch here. The food was very good... The service however, terrible. Our waiter was not attentive at all. Never refilled our drinks, never checked on us until after we were finished eating and at that point we just wanted to leave. Not sure I'll come back and if I recommend this place, it will be with an asterisks 'great food, bad service.'

Our server was great - friendly, funny, and helpful with the menu. The Living Room is sort-of tapas; the portions are too big to be tapas exactly, so it's more like you order plates to share. What's nice is that since each plate is made to order, you can order in multiple rounds. My husband and I started by ordering two meat dishes, and ordered one more veggie dish, and that was really enough. Each dish was interesting and nicely put together - interesting flavors, ingredients, and combinations I'm unlikely to concoct at home, which is just what I like when I go out. We ordered a pitcher of sangria, but failed that challenge; it's enough for at least three people. We were there before 6 on a Saturday, so there wasn't a wait for a table yet and the band hadn't started, and we sat outside, so I don't know about the decor. It was a lovely date-night place for us.

My visit to The Living Room started off great, as there was an incredible musician playing in the bar area. We were waiting for our table and he was playing 80's, 90's stuff on his keys, and this dude can sing. He made it fun to wait. Anyone that can pull off Earth Wind & Fire and Lou Rawls is ok in my book. The bar area is nice, has TVs, and is big enough to handle a lot of people. I could have done without the lady that kept bashing her chair into my leg, but then again, who doesn't need a good leg bruise every now and then? Now to the food...they serve small and large plate tapas. We started with the Perfect Pairing which had Stilton and Irish cheddar cheese, candied walnuts, crostini, blueberries, strawberries, grapes, some mixed greens and a light dressing. Very good, very fresh. I loved the honey that was drizzled on the bottom of the plate. I also had the Insalata Olympia which was a very good salad with grape tomatoes, buffalo mozzarella, and artichoke hearts. But I'll tell you right now, I might not punch my own grandmother, but I'd punch somebody's grandmother to get to a plate of the au gratin potatoes. (Disclaimer: I wouldn't really punch anyone. But I might nudge them out of the way.) This dish made me want to give the chef a big hug. These aren't your standard potatoes au gratin like your Aunt Millie makes. These were small golden potatoes, halved, and roasted with a savory smoked Gouda cheese, roasted red pepper slivers, and a touch of rosemary. Unfortunately we were so full that we only ate about half of those. It almost made me cry to watch them go away. The Living Room is trendy, loungey, upscale, and is a very fun restaurant that would be good for a group, or just a couple. It's kind of loud though, between all the patrons and live music. There is dim, intimate lighting, and it's decorated like a slightly gaudy living room with faux book shelves, doors, etc. It is also right in downtown Dunedin within walking distance of some great bars and other places to hang out, should you be looking for a bar-hopping night. Now go on. Walk, run, or drive to get those au gratin potatoes.

Had several great experiences eating dinner here so when friends were coming in to town Sunday we decided to try the brunch. First impression, good bartender - Bloody Mary bar was a hit. After paying the bar bill it was off to the dining room to eat! The person who sat us and then became our waiter was not in the mood for small talk or merriment and clearly would have rather been somewhere else that day. When we did not have our choices made within 5 minutes of sitting he seemed annoyed. The place was empty. The menu looked fabulous with many creative choices. We chose the crab Benedict, Henney and Jenny and the shrimp and grits as well as the rosemary cheddar biscuits. The bartender comes back to our table and is now our waiter, ok fine. Food arrives and looks good - Crab Benedict, Egg was cooked perfectly but there was a lot going on on the plate. Biscuit was stale, bacon was hard. Dish tasted assembled and not cooked to order. Henny and Jenny, corn pancake was dry and overlooked, chicken was over cooked too - terrible presentation. Shrimp and grits was just ok to good. Overall the food was a big disappointment - and we sent back the order of cheddar biscuits. The bigger disappointment was that they let this food leave the kitchen. It made me question my overall opinion of this restaurant which up till then was always positive. For your money there are far better choices close by.

Get the brunch, they should be open for breakfast but they aren't. Brunch starts at 10:00 am on the weekend and the plantain stuffed french toast is the best french toast I have ever had. The restaurant does a lousy job of selling the quality of it's brunch so its usually empty at 10:00 am. I wish they were open early for breakfast everyday (because there aren't a ton of breakfast options in downtown Dunedin) and because the plantain stuffed french toast is fantastic.

I'd heard good reviews about the food from a number of people, so I was excited to try out the menu. The restaurant serves small plates tapas-style, so we ordered things one at a time until we were satisfied. First up was the garlic dusted calamari fritti, served with marinated olives and pickled peppers. The calamari were breaded very lightly and fried just to a light golden brown. The squid itself was tender and not chewy: it was a winner in our table's book. The next small plate we tried was the Black and Blue nachos. Blue corn tortilla chips were topped with blackened chicken, bacon, roasted corn, tomato, jalapeno, mozzarella, provolone, and gorgonzola fondue. The topping combination was very tasty, but boy oh boy was there a LOT of cheese involved. We had to request an extra bowl of blue corn tortilla chips to even out the chip/topping ratio, but that wasn't a terrible thing in the end. The use of non-traditional nacho cheeses was a nice touch, and the crumbles of bacon were a tasty addition. We couldn't resist trying out one of the flatbreads on the menu: the Pane Bianco. It featured herbed goat cheese, provolone, mozzarella, pancetta, and wilted arugula. The flatbread was served pre-cut into 4 square servings, which was perfect for sharing around our table (seeing as there were 4 of us). Also, I'm a sucker for anything with goat cheese...it's the best. Finally, our stomachs were starting to get a bit full, so we decided to order one final plate to share. It was the item that we'd been hearing great things about, so the expectations were high. We knew we couldn't leave the restaurant without trying the Hoisin-Glazed Pork Shanks. And oh, were they delicious. The pork shanks are slow braised and topped with a hoisin barbeque sauce, and served with a side of carrot and cucumber kimchi. To say the pork was tender would be an understatement: the meat literally fell right off of the bone, leaving them completely clean. Dang. The hoisin barbeque sauce was sweet and savory in the right combination, and the kimchi was sweet and spicy (beware to those of you who can't handle some heat). I could have eaten all three of the shanks that were served, but we all managed to share nicely. Yum! I can definitely see a return visit to The Living Room in the future: it was a fun atmosphere, and I enjoyed the tapas-style menu. Being able to try a variety of items across the table is always a fun way to dine!

Sunday brunch menu was fun ... and a bit decadent. Shrimp and grits, Blue Crab Benedict and Eggs Sardou were all rich and compelling. Ordering a gluten free brunch reuben didn't work out quite right -- for some reason the kitchen left off the eggs in addition to cutting out the bread. Great reviews on mimosa of the day as well as the bloody mary (with bar of accompaniments). Five year old boy declared these his 'favorite pancakes of the year.' Ambiance / decor was fun; service wasn't crisp, but wasn't a problem either. We would try this place for dinner, given our positive impression of the brunch,

What a surprise! Had dinner there last night. Always thought of it more as a nice bar. We started off with the black and blue nachos..an absolute must have! So wonderful. The menu is very interesting with unique combinations. I had the coriander encrusted salmon with mixed wilted greens and quinoa salad. It was simply delicious. My hubby had the beet salad and he was so pleased. Quite large and truly a meal in itself. We were also surprised at how reasonable the whole evening was. Going back again soon! Highly recommend!

Tried this place out randomly one afternoon as we were strolling around the Dunedin Arts Festival. I really liked the cozy atmosphere (the name of this place says it all) - the dining room is a dimly lit, cozy area with a cool bookcase that spans the entire wall. There's also a nice bar and patio seating if you want to dine al fresco, but the inside "feel" to the place is really what makes the experience. We sampled the antipasto plate -- small, but artfully presented. I'm not a huge fan of fatty, cured meats so I would have liked to see a little more in the cheese category here, (there was but one lone slice of smoked gouda) but I did enjoy the caper berries, marinated portobellos, artichokes, etc. Also had the ahi tuna flatbread. SO tasty and again, beautiful presentation, with microgreens, and a jalapeno to top each piece...that was $11 and it only had 4 small pieces to it, so if you come here, understand the place is tapas style and don't expect to fill up on one dish if you're hungry. Not sure if they do live music here (?) but the setting is perfect for date night, birthday get-togethers, etc. I would go back and try it again; next time maybe with a bigger group with which to share a bunch of different tapas. Dunedin is a fun place to hang out and this is a good spot to start out your night.

Get ready to exercise your wallet. The place is not cheap but has a lot of tasty and unique things on the menu. Try the Hoison Pork, very nice. The cheese plate is pretty good as well and my step-son is a huge fan of the chocolate mousse as well. They have a nice bar, outdoor seating and good live music.

I am not surprised to see the varied reviews for the Living Room. I love the food (usually) and the service is great (usually). I've never had a terrible experience here, and the atmosphere is great. The vintage and obscure books on the shelves and the couch in the bar area really make the restaurant inviting - like a living room. The outdoor seating on the Downtown Dunedin sidewalk is great for people (and dog) watching.

I am from up north and not easily impressed with food as I consider myself a "foodie". This restaurant was absolutely impressive and I would highly recommend it to anyone. I would recommend the kobe beef sliders and the Prince Edward Island mussels. Everything was delicious and server was very nice and honest about the menu and size of tapas. Prices were right on the spot, an excellent deal. Next time I am in this area I guarantee I will be back. Thank you for the tasty food!

Just came back from dinner here. 1st off, the tapas taste good but it is not really tapas. Just think if you ordered a normal dish from any restaurant that comes with a main item and two side dishes. Now just downsize the main dish and make each side item a separate item. That is what you have here at The Living Room. Basically, disconstructed dishes that you pay separately for. While they taste good, you have to order many other things to get your protein, vegetables or starch. All the tapas were tasted alright but were not very original or intriguing. The best part by far has to be desserts. We had the Flan of the night and it was amazing!!!!!!!!!!!! If you are ever going to visit this restaurant it is a must. I had the pumpkin flan and inhaled it. It was so perfect that I could go each night for more. Atmosphere is great especially for the region. A good place to go to on any evening.

Three of us dined here on a Thursday night - it was busy, but not out of control packed. We were seated immediately, and the experience began. This is a tapas place, however the portions are quite large as compared to most tapas place. Our waitress walked us through the menu and said she would be happy to help us with suggestions and ensure that the portion sizes were correct for our group.] They start you out with some crispy bread and a dipping sauce (it was a sauce with olive oil, balsamic vinegar, and maybe hummus?) i am a sucker for pizza (I will admit it), so I thought we should definitely try the wild mushroom flatbread pizza - it was heaven on earth folks - so good, that we ordered a second one for our next round. Our waitress indicated it was a very popular item. We also had the black and blue nachos (they were okay - i think there were too many flavors for my palate) and the calamari (delicious and an excellent presentation). For round 2 we ordered the cajun skewers and another pizza. My friend with me said he would give the skewers a 9 out 10 stars - yup, they were good. Chicken, shrimp, andouille sausage, bell peppers, and onions... The AC was not working properly that night, but I overheard someone say that they were waiting for a part. The pacing of the meal was perfect. I would return!

If you are here because of Tapas like you get when you are from or in Spain, this is not your place. If there was a category for delicious high end appetizers this place should be in that category not Tapas. Every time we have been there it was a bit loud. We gave it many opportunities to impress. Just did not happen. Sorry Living Room.

Yummy food!!! Decent service. Only gripe? They were packed the night I went and some of the food took a bit to come out. Overall, I'm pleased with the venue and will go back.

Came for drinks and dessert. The bartender TJ is really incredible and made us all kinds of neat unique drinks based on what I was in the mood for (rosemary burbon martini anyone??). I will be back!

I went to this restaurant food was very good and the service was good. It was somewhat loud and I think the people were talking over the entertainment, which was good too. Lighting was not good in that area of the restaurant but the waiter promptly provided a flashlight. My only complaint is that there were no pepperoncinis in the Greek salad :-)

We had dinner New Year's Eve and it was nothing short of a disaster. Our seating was at 8:00Pm and we got our table at 8:30 - this can be expected on a night like this. Our server was incompetent and took 30 minutes to bring us a bottle of wine. The Fixed-Price dinner was $75 which was high but again can be expected. At 10:30 we still did not have our salads and demanded the manager. Appetizers were forgotten, service was poor, and we crawled out at 11:00 really upset with the restaurant and specifically the service. If we did not complain we would have celebrated midnight fighting with the waiter. No bread was brought to the table, water glasses were never refilled, dirty plates stayed on the table. The owners bit off more then they could handle and we paid the price. A complete rip-off. We are experienced diners, don't let things bother us when at all possible, but I would never go back even if it was the only restaurant in Florida.

We go to the Living Room for lunch probably once a week and the food is wonderful. Even though it's in walking distance of our office, the parking is ample across the street from the restaurant. The food menu is diverse with flatbread pizzas (the smoked salmon pizza is wonderful), homemade soups, the chicken curry soup was wonderful the other day as a special with a little kick, and great toasted sandwiches. My husband loves the cuban with the sweet potato fries and I just think the seared tuna club is piece of heaven. Prices are reasonable for downtown Dunedin. They also have a full bar. Tapas for dinner are great, but I've only been once at their old location. Say hi to Roxy or Giorgio at the bar. Their enthusiasm is infectitious.

Enjoyed a great brunch here. Prices were good, too. Returned for dinner and another lunch but wasn't as impressed- staff seem a little distracted. However, I would return for another brunch and try it again.

Its a tapas restaurant, and for those who dont know, tapas are small samplings or appetisers that 2 or more people share. This place had a fun atmosphere, and while the tapas were overall good quality, we were a party of 6 and the servings were for 2-4 people. Most in our group loved the nachos and quesadillas, I really liked the scallops. Lots of unique choices. Great for a group of 2-4 as a fun and different activity, easy place to have conversation !

Nice atmosphere, but quite expensive for a small greek salad. Probably won't be back.

Came here Mothers Day weekend with 10 of us. Service was great, Dodd was wonderful. The portabello mushrooms were a favorite as was the tajine chicken. We will definitely be back!

Had a burger and it tasted ok. I can make a better burger though. Asked for yellow mustard and they hand you honey mustard. Who doesn't have plain yellow mustard? Also had side of fresh fruit. The fruit I had was terrible. Not a recommended place to eat.

Hit or miss every time we go here. Really wanted this place to be "the neighborhood restaurant", but as good as the food may be, sporadically, so is the service. Very disappointed.

I enjoyed a flat bread pizza that was stellar. It is worth seeking out.

Had dinner last night here to celebrate my wife's birthday with another couple. Wonderful food, but the service is consistently terrible. Last night they messed up our drinks, followed that with giving away my wife's meal to another table and not being able to replace for 30 minutes. Note to the manager - if your bartender and hostess have to wait at tables, you need to get more service staff. We have been her several times because the food is really good, but won't be back due to consistent bad service!

The food is average... I've only been twice because the service was so very disappointing. There are more quaint places in Dunedin with much better service - my favorite is Pan y Vino.

Food and service mediocre; would have left completely apathetic about the experience until it came to check time. When we asked for our check to be split (was dining with two other couples) the server looked very apprehensive, but agreed. We were then asked to take the bill and mark what each of us had with a pen. (Unorthodox, but we agreed.) She took 25 minutes to split, and when she returned the checks were still wrong. One of the couples in our party were charged for food that never arrived at the table, and did not receive the happy hour discount they advertise. They were upset, so I followed the server in to rectify the situation. She told me she could, however it would take another 20 minutes. She brought the "manager" over, (who was sitting at a table eating in the middle of their dinner rush) and proceeded to explain how the discount worked as if we were attempting to get something for free. When she finally let me explain the situation, she said she would fix it, but told me at least 3 times she was doing us a favor by splitting the check. She went on to explain that they have large parties of 20 come in, and if they split the check it ties up the computer. When I explained I worked in the restaurant business for years and that not splitting checks is very unorthodox, she got very upset because she told me she is the one who "created" the policy. After she returned to the table, the checks were still incorrect. (My friends still had a $3 charge for food they never received) and we asked her to void it off since we had now been in the process of paying for 45 minutes. She then reassured us that she was doing us a favor, yet again. After she ran the cards and we were leaving, she proceeded us the reason she wouldn't take the $3 off was because I was inconsiderate and aggressive. My entire table and I have never been so insulted or outraged. We were not aware that expcecting basic customer service made us inconsiderate! Dine here at your own risk: the owner obviously is not concerned about insulting their guests or making money. I am embarrassed for the industy I have been proud to work in for the last fifteen years after seeing the nasty attitude of this owner.

Maybe average... I like the location, the kitchiness, the menu concepts and the atmosphere, but the execution is missing. The tapas were more like american chain fare kicked up a notch. We ordered about 5 different dishes including grilled goat cheese, artichoke, Hoisin BBQ Shank, mussels tajine, and dessert. The Hoisin BBQ beef tasted like it had been smothered in a doctored KC Masterpiece sauce, the goat cheese lacked depth, mussels were not cooked in a tajine and were served cold, and the signature chocolate dessert was something you would find on a picture menu in a Chinese restaurant. We were excited to try this place. We were unfortunately disappointed. If you are looking for a drink, kicked up bar fare and some atmosphere it is a good place to stop. If you are looking for quality fare and a delicious experience keep looking.

The food is fine, the service is good, and the management is completely incompetent. They messed up our bill, took 45 minutes to fix it, and completed the experience by insulting someone at our table. I have never been treated worse in a restaurant.
