Far exceeded our expectations!!! There were so many positives for us I'm not even sure where I should begin, yes it's seriously that good! First of all we have a child with a severe anaphylaxis nut allergy and the staff was so helpful in accommodating our requests. They went above and beyond - even sending a Manager to our table to talk to us about the extra safety precautions they were going to take in the kitchen. They never once treated us like an inconvenience and instead made us to feel right at home. Secondly, I ordered the Grilled Chicken Breast which seems simple enough but it was VERY juicy (not over cooked which is easy to do with chicken) and bursting with flavor! My hubby had a Cheeseburger and raved about how tasty it was and trust me he's had many cheeseburgers dining out, none of which he's ever liked as much as this one! Finally, our server "Melissa" was outstanding and definitely earned brownie points from me for her excellent proactive attitude! We can't wait to go back! Make this stop a priority when visiting Destin, it will NOT disappoint.

Great location but that is about it. Waitress brought the wrong drinks numerous times, forgot dinner salads and the food was almost cold. Not to mention they forgot to put cheese on a cheeseburger??? Portions were small and NOT worth the money. Find yourself a quality restaurant and skip this tourist trap!

Ate here with friends last night & for their first week, and it apparently being National Margarita Day, I was surprised by how smoothly the service went...the food was so-so, but I think most are probably going for the whole waterfront-dining experience anyway, and the view & atmosphere more than made up for the average food. Pretzel appetizer & taco salad were great. Am giving the 4 stars more for overall experience & atmosphere rather than food quality. Will definitely be hanging out here more in the future.

Just Meh. We ate here after getting off of our dolphin cruise. Service was slow but people were friendly. My steak lacked flavor but overall decent.

For a place with margarita in thier name you would figure they would take some pride in the preperation of thier margarita mix. They use artificial lemon wich pretty much ruins a margarita regardless of what kind of tequila is used. The food is okay and the service is bearable.

Waited through 5 people to get a drink oh and they just walked up and got served before me had to finally ask for the drink since they didn't see me, then the bartender was rude.

Don't waste your money! There are a lot better places to eat on the Harbor Walk or Destin area with just as good as view!. Wonder if Jimmy has eaten here yet damm! Andrew B you must have been drunk! 4 star?

Really fun, beautiful reastaurant, view from the 3rd floor deck is gorgeous. Obviously, a ton of money went into this place. Great band last night. The burgers are very good. I highly recommend when in Destin.

They only get three stars this time. The Destin location is new and they are still working out the wrinkles. Coordination between the kitchen and wait staff needs to be refined.

First time in Destin, and first time at Margaritaville.. not a fan of these celebrity chains, or really any chain.. anyway, we stopped in after a disappointing deep sea fishing trip. we were wet, hungry and wanting some sort of seafood. This place is huge.. its right on the water in the marina area, very clean, nice, and inviting. i got a bottle of beer, wifey got a mango-rita. she really liked it. we got the "cheese curds" app. and it was pretty good. no complaints other than quantity. we could have eaten 2 orders... then we both ended up ordering the "coconut shrimp" entree. mine with regular fries, hers with sweet potato fries. big shrimp. 60% breading, but cooked and seasoned well. but here is where i got a little upset. wife got 6 shrimp on hers and I got 5. hmmm? is the dish served by weight?. i don't think so, they were all almost all identically sized. and make no mistake these were pre-made and frozen.. i would have mentioned it, but the server NEVER came back after she dropped our entrees. a different server cleared our appetizer plates, and brought us Ketchup as our server did not, and we didn't see her again until she brought the check 30 minutes later. i had 2 beers, wifey had just one mango-rita, 2 coconut shrimp entrees, and a fried cheese appetizer. ticket was $79 bucks. good grief that is insane.. i understand there is huge overhead, and the waterfront property is expensive, but geez that is pricey. and our foreign server was not very attentive and the only reason i mention that she was "foreign" is that there was some difficulty understanding her and vice versa. she had a thick accent.. but no biggie. nothing was a big problem, its was just a polished turd. 2 of 5 for food, 2 of 5 for service, 4 of five for location and decor, and 2 of 5 for menu selection. i just don't get it, 100 bucks with tip could and should get you A MUCH BETTER experience and meal. but it is ideal for bland tourists that want familiar. and don't mind paying extra for the sizzle.. not the steak. this is what i get for not taking a couple of minutes to research a neat local place online, or asking some of the locals.. next time.

Brian is the best bartender in Destin!! Perfect drinks! Love love love this bar on Saturday nights, great live music and great service, Amy was a great server, make sure you ask for her! If you are getting drinks ask for Brian he will make you laugh all night long! Michael the bar back was really friendly too! Totally recommend this place for nightlife!

Stunning view of the harbor, great atmosphere, we live in Destin but we felt like we were on vacation :-) try watermelon margarita, it's amazing!!

Great good but everytime I go there I wait about an hour for my good no matter how busy it is. And a little pricey!

  • Tell It L.

Stopped in on a Saturday night. We were hoping for much better. The food was VERY overpriced and very small portions. We ordered the pretzel appetizer. It was $10. There were 4 soft pretzel sticks. Yes, 4. For $10. My husband had a salad with grilled chicken, sons had burgers. Totally average. Overall just not impressed and with such high prices we won't return. Too bad... Could have been much better.

  • Erin P.

Overpriced and terrible. The food menu is limited and overpriced (there's maybe 3 items that don't have double-digit prices). I ate before I got here, so I only ordered a strawberry lemonade ($3.75) and the stawberries weren't even ripe. My father ordered the fish and chips, (about $20). The fish looked like frozen fish sticks and tasted like bad fish. My brother ordered the surf and turf. His steak was dry and his "surf" portion consisted of 3 tiny shrimp on a skewer. My mother had a cheeseburger, which was okay, but not worth the $12 you have to pay for it. My parents ordered beer that was $7 a pop and served in small plastic cups. On top of everything else, the service was terrible. Our waitress acted like she was put out by our very existence. The only good thing about this place is the view, but if you want that, you're better off just getting some Subway and going to to beach.

  • Tee M.

Food was just ok. Service was horrible! Took over 30 minutes just to get our drinks. Never did get everything we ordered. Won't be going back!

    (2)
  • Justin M.

Average, average, average.....best words to use. Touristy. $16 for over fried grouper sandwich. Staff seemed inexperienced and no energy. Location over looking the water was the only thing going for it. Simply would not return. Anxious to try other places.

Have been to a lot of Margaritavilles. this one in Destin is a good fit on the boardwalk. Had the Volcano Nachos. This is a huge sized order and very good. Also had an order of the jerked shrimp skewers. These are very good as well.

My friend and I sat at the bar while we waited for our table. The bartender was very blah but the drinks weren't too shabby. When we were seated at our table, we ordered another round of mixed drinks and the crab and artichoke dip. Mmmm good! Definitely recommend!! Our waitress was technically good but very open with complaining about being worn out and tired and hot. My friend and I have both been in service industry, so we understood where she was coming from. However it was not the time or place for that. I ordered the lava lava shrimp as my meal, because I was full from the crab dip and my friend got the fish and chips. Both were very good. He did ask for extra of the dipping sauce, but our server forgot to bring it to him. Overall, the experience was good. I was glad that it wasn't a crazy busy night because service was slow enough. I will go back if that's where my group is wanting to go, but won't be my first options.

Ok. Noce place. Good service. Food is not matching the price. Seafood Mac and Cheese. Was ok 8 or 7 out of 10 On the table was a burger that was a 6 out of 10. Fosh tacos a 7 out of 10 a .fried Chicken 8 out of 10 Quesadiklas 7 out of 10 Sea food didnt taste freaher than an inland restaurante and we are on the pier in Freaking Destin Florida. Not bad but not matching what you pay for.

Hubby and I did a quick day trip to Destin this weekend and grabbed a lunch at Margaritaville! It was surprising good food! Hubby had a Cobb Salad topped with fried chicken and I had the fish tacos! The view was outstanding of the Emerald Coast! I suggest you pair a great margarita with your meal for a perfect dining experience! Be prepared for the "tourist pricing"...ugh. Our meal was $50 with the tip, but keep in mind, they have to make the money during the season. Our waitress told us it is DEAD in the winter. The staff was friendly, funny and efficient! Our server Alicia has been there since the place opened so she was very informative about where to go and what to do!

  • Rose G.

Having been to 4 MV's I'd have to say that this one lacks the thought was the other 3. The buoy seating in the middle is classic Buffet. Decor is to point and that view! Oh the views! The food was good. Overpriced, but good. You come to say you've been, and pay for the name brand. Burger was excellent. Margarita was good!

We ate at Jimmy Buffet's Margaritaville while visiting Destin on vacation. It's located in a touristy/shopping area so there was quite a few people around. The atmosphere was great and we were able to choose where we wanted to sit. We selected a table with a dock open air view. The restaurant is two levels with a bar at the top level. We sat on the bottom level. Our waitress was quick throughout. The prices were better then I thought they would be as well. I ordered the buttermilk fried chicken with gravy and green beans. Our food arrived about 15 minutes after we ordered. The chicken was okay and had a slightly peppery taste to it. It was a little on the dry side though, possibly from being over cooked by a few minutes. The gravy helped with that problem. It was good and also had a slight peppery flavor to it. Combined with the chicken, it wasn't great but was more flavorful. The green beans were bland and disapointing. It definitely looked better then it tasted. I ordered a drink called a 5 o'clock somewhere. It has two rums and tequila combined with fruit juices. It definitely had some bite to it. I honestly tasted more alcohol then anything else, (not that it's a bad thing) the fruit juices just added color to the drink in my opinion. I'd come back if we ever revisited Destin. I'd probably order something else though

Food was decent and service was reasonable until the meals can out. We received 6 of 8 meals and after we were will into our meals, the 7th meal came out. When our server finally returned, we asked where the 8th Person's meal was? After a puzzled look and being told if the order was not ready to please cancel it because everyone was almost done in the party the server asked if we needed anything; we asked for the manager. The server never returned but after a long while the manager came out with order #8. After discussing the order, the manager left to fix the check, only to return telling us that order 8 was never input. We were pleased with the manager's efforts however seeing how we were input as UPSET instead on table # whatever was very disrespectful. We will not be returning to this business.

After sitting at the bar for 10 minutes a waiter finally came over to ask what I wanted. I made a comment about the bar not being too crowded for a Saturday night and he responded with, "well I'm glad because I want to go home." Not a good start. But I ordered a drink and a meal and 50 minutes later my meal arrived....with no silverware, napkins or ketchup to go with the fries. I waited patiently for 2-3 minutes before getting up and helping myself to the basic essentials. Waiter came back a minute later and said he could have gotten that for me, to which I responded, "I don't think you could have." Bottom line- terrible service, especially for a sparsely crowded bar and food was luke warm.

Simply unimpressive food and the worst restaurant meal of our vacation. Best described as the most expensive low quality bar food in the Destin area. The only reason I gave it even one star is because the wife and kids enjoyed the "ambiance." However, I suspect if they had to pay the $130 (with tip) tab out of their own pockets, they would change their minds. That tab was for 1 overpriced and pathetically small shrimp entree, 1 hamburger, 1 kids meal, 2 club sandwiches, 1 desert, and 4 non-alcoholic drinks. Comically, the hamburger bun was stale and about 25% bigger than the poorly cooked burger at $14. The service and scenery was good however. Regardless, save your hard earned money and go elsewhere. Chef Ramsey Needs to be called in to this place.

Haven't been to Destin in a few years and just moved back. Food and service was amazing! Also the view isn't to shabby either.

  • Christopher W.

Cold French fries, flavorless fish, average hamburgers, and a rushed and hurried sever makes this place a one star joint. Yes, it's nice and pretty to look at but it has no soul. Another Destin tourist trap with average food and bad service. All this can be had for the low cost of admission of 130 dollars for a family of 4. And Anna ..maybe spend less time generically responding to everyone on Yelp and go to the restaurant and fix the problems. Start with Keith " the worlds most impersonal bartender"! Or figure out why they send out cold french fries? Build more value into the experience, it's a ripoff.

Love this place! Great atmosphere, great food, great music! Best place to be for dinner! My husband and I always make this place one of our top spots to stop when we are on vacation! We were just there last night and the weather was perfect, there a nice breeze blowing through and even got to watch fireworks from afar!

    (5)
  • Lindsay B.

The bad reviews are undeserved. Me and four friends came and all got different things. All better than Harry T's and the service is better too. Great atmosphere and music as well. Drinks are high but where are they not. Food was delicious and not overpriced.

Changes in Latitudes, Changes in Attitudes? I think so! While visiting Destin with my family we stopped in here for dinner on our last night with the teenagers. It is overlooking the ocean and we thought it would be fun and perhaps the kids would get a kick out of it. We hit it at a time when there wasnt much going on yet. (It was early on a Friday evening) The service was good, the margaritas were awesome and the food was adequate. There are quite a few different margaritas to choose from. I tried a Classic Lime Margarita and a Mango Margarita. LOVED the Mango Margarita. I honestly don't really remember my food but my daughter ordered the nachos and that was truly the biggest pile of nachos I've ever seen. Taste-wise they were nothing special. This is a touristy destination that is overpriced. Margaritaville appeals to the young and uneducated diner because of its aura of irresponsible margarita drinking fun, cheeseburgers in paradise, and nachos piled as high as the ceiling. While I like Jimmy Buffett the musician when I feel like chilling out, I think this restaurant is over priced and that there are better places to spend your dining dollars in Destin. If you decide to come here probably a Cheeseburger and a Margarita are going to be your best bet. It just wont be cheap!

    (3)
  • Ryan S.

The 1 in Nashville, TN is better. The view was amazing. The staff was friendly. Our waitress was inadequate. The food was higher. The drinks were good but also higher priced. Recommend for the view.

Perfect place for Margarita!! Appetizers are good as well!! Tonight's server is Leah !

    (5)
  • Woody A.

Jimmy Jimmy you really should take your name off this place. The only reason you are getting 3 star is because the waiter was great. Most places when you order fish taco get 3, not 2. You also get a great fish, halibut or tuna, not some English fish & chip leftovers. Beans had a canned taste to them, the rice was instant. Lazy. Now don't get me wrong here the food tasted OKAY, it was not worth $17, maybe $8.99 dinner. Another reason not to eat here is you get taxed twice on sub standard food (state sales tax & a habor walk tax).

  • LeAnne W.

I just wanted to say that Debbie and Karen at the gift shop are awesome. They went out of their way to find an item in my size at the last minute right before they closed. Now that is what I call customer service!!! Great job ladies!!!!

Loved the staff and meal was great! My daughter, Sarah's, is in love with Marcella!!!!! Drinks were fabulous too!

Perfect touristy thing to do on vacation. I had a veggie burger and fries- delicious. She had the fish and chips with jalepeno tartar sauce, which I of course tried- delicious. Also we sat out on the dock which was beautiful at dinnertime. She had a margarita and I had a bahama mama, both in blender cups (of course- tourists) There were a couple of sales going on at the shop, but I still didn't walk out of there at less than $50, which i expected. Hahah. Anyway, I enjoyed every minute. Oh wait, I can't NOT mention this (It's what made this 4 stars instead of 5)-- Parking here is the definition of hell. Genuinely took me half an hour. If you know what's good for you, you'll send most of your group in to put a name in and get seated while you find a spot.

    (4)
  • Aria C.

The service was great! Our waitress was so nice and was always there when we needed her (which was quite often haha). We ordered a ton of drinks but my favorite was the mango passion fruit mixed drink. The first one wasn't very alcoholic but the second one most definitely was haha. The fish tacos were tasty, but my boyfriend got the Mahi Mahi and said it was overlooked- tasted more like chicken than fish. Other than that, the restaurant was a great, easy destination.

I will follow this up with a update after our meal..service when we first got here was awful.. no one greeted us.. so we sat ourselves upstairs. I realized they likely had no server on the landshark lookout so I came down to double check. I waited for nearly 10 minutes at the bar staffed with 3 bartenders and 1 manager, there were about 6 guests and a small well with some drinks. There were plates which were dirty beside me and dirty glasses.. they sat there. So after being acknowledged and asked if I had been helped.. I still wasn't help the bartender blonde hair and horrible black roots went back to entering her tips and rolling her eyes at a drunken bar guest. I got sick of waiting and asked the servers in the server station. We moved to the main floor as food wasn't served up top, Rebecca is our server.. she is pleasant and attentive. She had our drinks (loaded landshark.. which I'm not sure was made properly.. but pick your battles) a couple other beers and waters out quickly.. and she didn't seem annoyed we sat ourselves.. as there was no apparent entrance or host staff.. so far she is great.. I will update when our meal is complete.. Update: our server was fantastic the nachos are decent.. we didn't expect anything great.. overall the atmosphere is great.. except the managers have no actual interest in the job the servers are doing.. it's a beautiful place to hangout if you just want a drink and to enjoy the view.. otherwise.. I'd pass.. I've been to better margaritavilles. Bathrooms clean though..

Horribly long wait. It was Independence Day and they were allowing tables to sit there for 2 or 3 hours to watch the fireworks show. Then when the show was about to start about 50 non-patrons rushed into the restaurant to point that our server couldn't even take our order. Food was just average with the exception of the watermelon margarita which was good. Overall experience was poor to average...

  • Mr. Butters ..

Service was really bad; the location is A+; the food quality was "C". Too many better choices in the immediate area, although great place for drinks though

  • Yesenia H.

I wasn't to impressed. I guess I was just expecting too much. I had their nachos, a rum runner & a margarita. Overall I was disappointed. The drinks honestly seemed to be one of the weakest drinks I've ever been served & for what you pay for the food wasn't great.

    (2)
  • Jill B.

We were told our wait would be 25-30 minutes. Over an hour later, we were finally seated. Ladies at the front/greeting were quite unorganized, or overwhelmed. However, our sweet server was great. Kept glasses full & everyone enjoyed what they ordered.

    (2)
  • Bryan R.

Tried it for the first time. We shared the giant nachos and the chicken quesadilla. Both were pretty good. My kids had the bacon blue cheese burger and they liked it a lot.

    (3)
  • Kristin B.

Well, we typically stay away from chain restaurants, but decided to try it out. Big mistake. No A/C, hot, food was terribly overpriced and mediocre, sweet waitress went out of her way to be helpful-but couldn't make up for the disappointing experience. The only saving grace is the bar downstairs. Grab a drink there, go eat somewhere else.

    (2)
  • Jennifer M.

We were ordering a drink from the downstairs bar and saw that the water had been running in one of the sinks on full speed and figured maybe the bartender forgot to turn it off. We ordered our drinks and then said, hey by the way that water is running. He gave us a nasty look and said "so". We said "ok well you're just wasting it". He glared and turned it off. 2 min later another bartender walked by and turned it on as he passed. So basically they just leave the water running there all day long because they're too lazy to have to turn it back on when they actually need it. Parts of the nation are running out of water. It just seemed wasteful and ignorant to me.

  • Cara R.

Let me start off with saying the service was great. She was on top of everything, got the table we wanted etc. the service deserves a 5 star But the food suuuuucccckkkeed. Ok, so we ordered a chicken sandwich and its right off of the ocean. Maybe your thinking of course the food sucked. But i warn you dont order the chicken sandwich. The chicken was rubber and there was blue blood in part of it. I know chickens have blood obviously but if i pay $15 for a sandwich i dont want to see blood.. It was gross. And every condiment and spices was something you can buy from the store... At least put the salt in a saltshaker!! Anyway thats my 2 cents ;)

Ducked in to during an afternoon thunderstorm for a quick bite, nothing quick about it. Service was slow, food was cold and overall a terrible meal.

  • Arturo M.

This place is awful! Avoid it at all cost! First when we put down our name, the hostess quoted us, thirty minutes. We waited an hour! Once we were finally seated, the server took her time, but was nice. Once we ordered, it took my family and I, two hours to get our food! Other larger parties, got there food before we did! It was not busy! Which the food is not all that great and below average. We arrived at 7 pm and didn't leave until 10 pm. Management was apologetic, but that still does give us back the precious time we waisted there! I do not recommend coming here, unless you have time to waste.

    (1)
  • Niel B.

On our recent visit, the service was slow and there was a long line out the door despite the house being half empty. Why five stars, then? Because the restaurant did everything right under the circumstances. Let me explain. We visited on September 17. The restaurant was staffed appropriately for a random Wednesday in September - the off season for the Florida resort area. Little did management know that Cobb and Cherokee counties, in the Atlanta metro area, had a Fall break that week, which would bring many more guests to the area than expected. As a result, the restaurant was understaffed. Here's where the management did the right thing: rather than let guests in and try to serve them as best they could, they kept the restaurant half empty, with a line out the door. The wait staff was still very busy, and the kitchen was clearly working as fast as they could, but our order still took a while. But the bar made our drinks quickly, and when the food arrived it was hot and perfectly prepared. A two hour dinner was not a bad thing - after all, we were on vacation, why rush out the door? So all in all, Margaritaville really made the best of a potentially bad situation and delivered a good dining experience. They just need to make sure to look at school calendars throughout the Southeast to make sure they staff up for those unexpected vacation weeks!

Stopped in on Labor Day Monday night. Got seated and waited in right away. View is great. All the charter boats were coming back in so kids thought that was near Margarita was weak, fish tacos and quesodilla platter was good but nothing screamed "OMG". music was going at a good volume. Atmosphere was good and waitress were very friendly but the bill wasn't too friendly but your eating at a corp joint on the ocean so it's expected.

  • Holly C.

Decent touristy restaurant. Prices were a little on the high side for what amounts to a Chili's on the boardwalk. Good burger, but probably not worth $14. Amazing views, fun atmosphere, friendly staff. We met up with some friends that we haven't seen in years and basically camped at the table (they weren't all that busy at that point) and our waitress was super friendly understanding.

    (3)
  • K M.

The positive the Margarita was good. If you need an afternoon drink this is a great stop. The food & service were below acceptable standards. It had just rained and they didn't have the air conditioning on!! Something about sweat in your horrible food isn't that appetizing. Typical tourist trap like rain forest cafe etc. I saw the other reviews and didn't pay close attention. They are accurate !

  • Ashley M.

I might've reviewed the food if I had gotten a chance to eat it. We were traveling with our puppy. I completely understand that not all establishments can offer pet friendly seating so I called ahead to find out if the places were or not BEFORE we brought her along to lunch with us. When I called Margaritaville I asked about the pet friendly seating and she said we would have to sit up by the bar on the deck and order from the bar. So we brought our puppy along with us. We arrived to the first floor at 11 am. The doors were locked even though they were supposed to open at 11. An employee even went in through the doors after we had arrived and never spoke to us. At 11:15 another employee came and cracked the door and told us (and some others who'd also been waiting) that downstairs was closed and we'd have to go to the second floor to be seated. Ummm ok, why did you let us stand here for 15 min in 90 degree weather and why isn't there a sign? Then I pointed to my puppy and asked "we have her so where do we need to go?". She looked at our puppy and said "Oh you're cute but, yeah, you can't come in here". I said "What? I called ahead and they said I could bring her". Then her story changed and she said "Well you can but you have to go up to the upper deck". OK, so we walked up a load of stairs to the 2nd deck...no one around... then the 3rd deck...where no one was to be found either. We walked back down to the second level and I found a side door where I could get to the hostess stand. I asked her about where we could sit and she proceeded to tell me that I couldn't sit on either one of their decks because they're covered but we could go back down to the bottom and sit (which didn't make sense because the bottom level was covered as well). By that point I'd had it and we left. That was 3 employees telling me 3 different things. I'm not a fanatic that thinks every business should accommodate my puppy but we wouldn't have brought her had we not been assured they were pet friendly. Because they couldn't keep their story straight about their policies they lost my business and we went back to Harry T's for a second day in a row.

Great Drinks bad food, the food was over cooked and not seasoned very well. They over cooked the shrimp it was very dry. And the waitress hardly checked on us.

  • Tony H.

Service was slow. Margaritas were average for a restaurant that is supposed to specialize in them. Meals were over priced.

    (2)
  • Jimmy W.

This is a tourist trap. Mediocre food, expensive drinks, long wait time, and bad service. You're paying franchise fees for the Jimmy Buffet name and real estate costs for being on the water. Put this place in Nebraska, call it Drinkville, and everything would cost about quarter price right before the place closed down forever.

  • Jenn D.

We had a large group so we had two waitresses. One was great, the other just okay. We waited for over an hour for a table and sat at the table for over an hour waiting for food. The kid enjoyed watching the ships and parade go by.

Service was decent, but for the prices I expected fresh burgers not frozen. A table near us ordered nachos and got a mountain of them. Maybe that's the way to go.

Other than a great view, I'd say it was good at best. Our server rushed us through ordering, with two small kids that can be frustrating. The food was ok, nothing really special that stands out. Definitely pay for the atmosphere not the food quality.

Restaurant wasn't busy, food came out slow and cold. Flavors weren't there. Not a good restaurant relative to other options in the area. Won't eat here again.

I'll give two stars for the beautiful sunset and view we had. Our server Greg, was horrible. There was hardly anyone there and he took forever with everything. The food was nothing special at all. I had an appetizer as an entree and the fiancé had fish tacos, we waited 40 minutes for our food, no apologies, nothing, this seemed like a typical day at margaritaville. We wanted more adult beverages but by the time he would get around to us we were ready to go. Please don't waste your money or time going here. Horrible.

Pleasantly surprised! We generally avoid chains but this really wasn't bad at all. The app (drunken shrimp) was fantastic. I wanted to lick the platter! My fish tacos were tasty, I like more heat but still good. Bama breeze drink was of course, pricey but good. Nice view so I really can't say anything bad about this location!

Good lunch. The nachos we very large, the Margaritas were delicious and the service was good. The view was beautiful. The food was good but as most tourist places a little pricey. We will probably stop in again next time we come to town.

Arrived at 11:00am some of the first ppl here. Me and my husband shared the nachos which were very good the service eh not so good. Being some of the first people you would think the service would be quick. It took forever for our lunch to come and same to receive the bill. I must say the food was great as always and the views of the beach were fantastic so that really made up for the not to great service. The restaurant is located at the boardwalk and that was fun. A lot of shops and stuff to do.

First of all the view is unbelievable. Its like looking at a Jimmy Buffett song. The service is extremely friendly and the food is perfect Harbor food. It's a perfect place to sit and watch the harbor all day long. I highly recommend it.

This restaurant is located in Harborwalk Village with an incredible waterfront view. It's a chain but the service is anything but chain. We enjoyed our first meal here so much that we came back for a second. My son ordered the NY strip steak and raved about it. For a kid that rarely finishes a meal this is a real compliment. I had the cheeseburger in paradise. It was very good. And I added the loaded mashed potatoes - awesome. My wife had the mango chicken with corn and rice. A very good dish. The view with the doors open and the breeze blowing is worth the meal price. Our waitresses were great as well even offering advice to my sun burnt wife. For a chain they do it right.

Great location.... Always fun times... My fav is the watermelon margarita. It's so refreshing on a hot summer day. Our burgers where so huge we had to finish them with a fork. So yummy and the sweet potato fries oh my!!!! My daughter loved her nachos. And the carna asada tacos are to die for ( excuse my spelling). To finish off the night we all walked out with balloon hats from the stilt walkers. Lots of looks when we walked around the harbor but so much fun. Will be back for sure.

Good service. Food was good. Great atmosphere. After being turned down for a table for 17 at Hogs Breath this place had no hesitation whatsoever about seating us. We had a good time.

I was surprised to read all of the mediocre reviews. Yeah, its a touristy restaurant but my mango margarita and coconut shrimp with mango and orange chutney was out of this world. The shrimp were huge and tasted fresh. Again, like many of the other touristy restaurants, if you sit on the second floor, you don't seem to have all the noise disruptions from enjoying the beautiful view and service.

Im just going to start by saying that our family went to dine here very late when the restaurant part was closing in 10 min so we were guided to go downstairs to the bar were we can still eat food and there was a live performance. Immediately, I can see it on my parents face, uncle and aunts face, that we were not in suitable dining conditions. I can just see them squinting from the loud music. We without question were sent back upstairs to the restaurant even though it was already closed to be able to eat in a quieter environment without any bad feelings from the staff. I am sure the waiter we had wanted to go home but he still served us and was so kind, friendly, patient, and understanding. The food was GREAT, everyone LOVED what they got and for the first time in awhile i didn't hear anyone moan or groan about their food. The margaritas were also fabulous, i got the mango marg and i loved it! I also had the fish and chips! SO GOOD. My mom got the catch of the day and she had it grilled, she substituted the sides for mashed potatoes and green beans, healthy and decisions. My dad got the buttermilk chicken with mashed potatoes and green beans and he LOVED it! everyone else ordered quesadillas that came with really delicious green beans on the side! Getting hungry just thinking about it! Anyway, thank you to the staff for taking us even after hours and letting us eat upstairs and for treating us great even after the fact.

I'm surprised by the critical reviews...our food was great and so was the service. I had the wedge salad and it was huge! So was the taco Salad. The sweet potatoe fries were great and so was the burger. We had a group of 6. I did get a bloody mary that was not not good at all. It was very watered down. The atmosphere was great and I'd recommend this place as a stop.

As a vegan it can be quite difficult for me to work with the servers, but Suzanne and Kayla did an excellent job helping me find something on the menu. They were very knowledgeable about what they were serving and made sure that my dish was cooked properly. Great veggie burger and great service!

Great place to relax with one of their many margaritas and look out over the ocean. Prices are a little steep with most dishes in the $15-$20 range but they're really big portions so you definitely get your money's worth. It's worth a visit!

Of course we are tourists coming here. Came for lunch around 2PM We waited about 30 minutes but saw plenty of open tables. After sitting down it was another solid wait for a server to show up. Food service was slow. I had grouper 3 times this week and this was by far the worst one. I almost thought about questioning it but ultimately did not. All the staff just seemed unhappy to be at work. For what you are paying here....skip it and go somewhere else

We have been here before and it wasnt that good and said we would probably not come back except for cocktails . Today however it was much better. We stopped here for cocktails and appetizers. My wife ended up getting the Emerald Coast burger instead. It was so good. Burger with crab dip and fried tomatoes. I got the quesadilla. Not bad at all. The waitress was terrific which was a pleasant bonus.

It's a lovely restaurant with a great water front view. There was no wait time and were sat immediately. However the wait time to place a meal was very long. The place was fairly empty and our drink orders were taken immediately. Not sure where our waiter had disappeared to after that. The food was mediocre and overpriced. I really wanted to try the fish tacos but I cannot eat cilantro. (I have the rare gene mutation that makes it taste like soap.) I told the waiter this trying to see if I could get it without. I couldn't so I got the fish and chips. I still ended up with the lime and cilantro slaw on my plate. The fish was super greasy and even the vinegar or tarter sauce couldn't cut the taste out. The BBQ burger was nothing special. Just like something you would get at Chili's. The fries were good. The best thing I had was my cocktail - The Last Mango in Paris. It was the perfect drink after a day on the beach.

Worst service ever from the host to the manager! The manager Amanda is not even worthy of that title. She was has no clue how to handle customers with care and respect. Our 45 minute wait turned into an hour and half. They somehow skipped us even with a pager! Finally when I told them that we were leaving and returning their pager, they mysteriously found us a table. We went up stairs and there were a ton of open tables. I didn't understand what the wait was for? My husband was so upset he didn't order anything. I asked to talk to Manager (Amanda) and she had no answer and didn't care. But why would she? This location is full of tourist so they are getting their money. It is a shame that as a local I will never come back and word of mouth in the area will get around. At the end of the season your tourist will go home and you will wonder why the restaurant is dead. I can't believe Jimmy Buffet would even put his name on this restaurant location! Complete disappointment!! If you dine here make sure you have a lot of tequila because you will need it to deal with the pathetic service!

We had decided to try Margaritaville to catch the women's NCAA championship game. We figured they had all kinds of TVs so we had a good chance for a seat next to a TV. They under-estimated our wait time which we were told was 35-40 minutes and ended up being an hour and 20 minutes to then get seated by a TV that only plays the "Margaritaville" channel. We were told that only the bar TVs showed sports and the bar was self-seating (and kid friendly) so we waited another 20 minutes hovering the bar waiting for 4 seats to open up. The rescue to our evening was bartender, Daniel. He was very personable and attentive. Even getting us a napkin of ice to cool down a sunburned 11-year old. The kitchen was slow but the food arrived hot and delicious. The burgers are huge and the Rancho Deluxe did not disappoint. The kids (11 and 15) enjoyed the homemade strawberry lemonade. We were able to catch the last half of the game and left stuffed and satisfied.

It's a chain & it's very much like all the others we've been to. The waitress was a sweetheart who was perfectly timed for our needs. The view to the water was great. We had drinks, appetizer and lunch. All tasted good. The sweet potato fries are my fav.

This place :/. Way over priced, I dont care who owns the place, $29 dollars for two chicken breasts and some rice is ridiculous, and our waitress was a total Smartass , this is why she got no tip. Drinks were great though and the view was excellent.

Food was "okay" We went around 6 to eat It was SO HOT that we were miserable! I couldn't believe how hot it was! :( Brought my son the wrong food. I ordered fish tacos, talk about my batter then fish. The only thing good was the drinks. Smh not worth it! Go to Crab Trap instead!

I went here twice First visit: Wait time for 2 people would have been an hour, but they have these cool little two person tables located in front of the bar. The wait staff was running around like chickens. We had about 4 different waitresses. I ordered the fried chicken, mashed potatoes, and fresh green beans. Everything was good except the green beans they put this weird tasting sauce on them and it ruins them. If you order that dish ask for no sauce on beans. They took forever to bring our drinks. When our food came out we had no napkins or silverware. Again they took forever to bring out check. We left a 2 buck tip because honestly we didnt know who to leave the tip to because we had so many different waitresses.....And the drinks and food are ridiculously high!!! Second Vist: Went for happy hour downstairs and Ashley was our waitress. Very nice service and very attentive. 3 dollar beer cant beat that. Cheapest thing on the menu. We had fun looking and laughing at all the people who couldnt dance. Overall experience: Was good. Plan to spend alot. Not a cheap place. I probably wont be back.

You don't come to Margaritaville Destin for the food...it's the view that makes it worthwhile. Our experience was fine...seated quickly, attentive waiter, food arrived promptly, etc. The food was good, but nothing to rave about. We had a Rancho Deluxe Burger with Sweet Potato Fries and a couple of Beach Tacos (Chicken Tinga and Pork Carnitas). The prices and food quality was typical of most tourist-catering restaurants in the area: higher prices for mediocre food. But that view! Sit topside and watch all the boats going in and out of the harbor.

Stopped in late afternoon on a week day. Restaurant was fairly empty, so being seated quickly wasn't an issue. Drink orders were taken, and food orders were taken within a reasonable amount of time. Table service wasn't bad, and our waitress was friendly enough. I had sticker shock looking at the menu...the appetizers cost as much as a regular meal at other local restaurants! No one in our party ordered any alcoholic drinks, and our bill was pretty high for just four of us. Nothing on the menu was really extraordinary at first glance; just your normal type dishes. Two in our party ordered the chicken quesadillas - which were tasty, but nothing to write home about. One person ordered the tacos (pork and steak) which were again nothing spectacular. I ordered the black grouper - good fish, but nothing amazing. Like many of these types of places in the area, you're paying for the novelty and the brand name...not so much the food quality or service. I wouldn't add this to my "must-eat" list.

My wife and I just got back from a short trip to Destin and along with our "Island life" mentality we have made Margaritaville our go to place for our dining needs if they are available. As I stated in the "tip" I posted for this same location; if you are looking for a cookie cutter casual dining establishment then this is not the place for you. I am sure that you would feel more at home at a Chili's or Applebee's. If you are looking for a great laid back environment that will usually have great music and fantastic drinks then come on in! A little bit about our experience at this location: We checked in and were quoted a 25 minute wait. 40 mins go by and my wife asks me to ask the hostess if it will be much longer. So I do and her response was "Ah man, I have been looking for you! I made a mistake when I entered the buzzer number and it didn't like up with your buzzer! Let me get you a table now!" (It's an honest mistake and she owned up to it like an adult and even fixed the problem immediately so it's no big deal) We sat down with our cocktails we bought from the bar while we were waiting for our table and our server came over and took our order. She was defiantly busy but she kept a cool appearance the whole time and she did what she could to let us know she was happy we were there! Our food arrived and as usual it was spot on and delicious! It does take a little bit longer to get your food at Margaritaville but if you want a pre-made cheeseburger in under five minutes then go to Wendy's. So you must be curious to why I didn't rate them 5 stars and gave them only 4 stars?? Ok, I'll give you an answer! See, I am also a part of a leadership team (aka - restaurant manager) for a similar concept and I have a strong belief that no restaurant is ever perfect and you always have room to grow and find new innovative ways to give your guests the ultimate experience! Margaritaville does come very close so I will give them 4.9 stars. Keep up the great work!

  • Brandon H.

Seriously your name is Margaritaville - you should have fresh mixes in your margaritas... They spent all this money on making a nice restaurant with a billion dollar view why skimp the customers on local fresh ingredients. You will pay $5 for PBR... Who drinks that anyway? Not the type of people that pay $5. Gross.

Our rehearsal luncheon was taken at this restaurant. Our waiter was fabulous. He served 36 of us and he was quick, thoroughly, and made sure we were satisfied with our drinks and lunch! The view was by the water and it was gorgeous. We enjoyed watching boats floating by as we ate. Drinks were delicious. Food was mouthwatering yummy! Thank you Margaritaville for giving my bridal party, family and us an endlessly fabulous service!

The Margaritaville concept itself is a great idea, but the folks who work at this location seems like they don't completely buy into it. That's a big problem for a two-story restaurant with a lot of overhead, that needs a regular stream of customers to stay profitable. The chain's rules are the same as they are anywhere, but they aren't well implemented here. Poor quality food, confused hostesses, and high prices will keep us from returning. We went on a Sunday afternoon, and it wasn't busy at all; maybe 15% full. Despite that, we were sent upstairs for seating (according to the computer that tells employees where to seat people). "Take this ticket, go in the elevator, up to the 2nd floor, step out, take a left, then give the ticket to someone at the counter". She didn't mention that there were two counters but we eventually found someone. The hostess was nice enough to put us by the window when we asked. I had to try the Cheeseburger, right? Big mistake. It was very dry and tasted like a frozen patty, not the fresh hand crafted burger that's promised in the menu. The bacon was the cheap version that is served at free hotel breakfast buffets. Plus, at $14, it should be pretty good, but you'll find a better burger at some fast food joints. We found a super-curly hair in a different burger, and the manager was nice enough to take it off the bill. I wish I had thought to photograph the cucumber slices that came with the salad. It's like they were able to take a regular cucumber slice, then cut that into eight super-thin slices. They'd also been sitting out way too long. I didn't know that sun-dried cucumbers were a thing, but you can find them at Margaritaville. As far as chain restaurants go, this one doesn't deliver on value or consistent quality. The server was very skilled and did a great job (he also knows the trick where you stare into the customer's eyes and hold their gaze for a little too long, to get a bigger tip, so keep that in mind). Maybe they'll get it together and dramatically increase the quality of the food, but I won't be back to find out.

I read several reviews complaining about the high prices and tourist feel to this restaurant. Well, I don't live here so that makes me a tourist. Granted, the food is not cheap, but you're paying for the experience! Situated in a small shopping area at a wharf, the atmosphere is charged with abundant energy. You'll have plenty of shops to please adult and child, from clothing and artwork to a fudge shop and gaming entertainment businesses. Margaritaville staff found a table at a corner of the main deck, providing my daughter and me with a fine view of the water and the wharf. Our waiter was patient as we took overlong to decide on our food choices. The appetizer of chicken quesadillas were tasty. My daughters Buttermilk Fried Chicken kept a smile on her face. My Jimmy's Jumpin Jambalaya was well prepared, and spicy enough to please. Good food, great views, friendly service, and time with my daughter...I'd say that made for a perfect evening!

I have been to about 10 of the Margaritaville restaurants over the past several years. I have always had great experience and typically LOVE to go there as the highlight of my trip. This past time was NOT one of the "fond memories" I will cherish. We arrived May 19th a Monday at about 4PM and sat at the bar and ordered drinks and some apps. I had NO problem with the food or drinks, but what DID disturb me was the amount of "out of control" kids both in the bar area and at the bar. Kids running all around, out of control like they just got done eating Birthday cake fuzed with extra sugar and washed down by energy drinks! This was demonstrated by multiple families who thought I guess, this atmosphere promotes behavior seen only at "Chucky Cheese" or an Amusement Park. In several instances kids ran in front of the servers, having the servers to do a move looking like a roll-off only and experienced tight end could manage. After server instances of this, I asked the Bartender if the upstairs patio bar was adults only. I seem to recall one of the Margaritaville restaurants had an adults only place? NO came the quick reply, "Families are welcome---everywhere" Hey, I get the relaxed atmosphere Margaritaville promotes, but how am I supposed to relax when I feel I am in the midst of a "children's play land"? I understand that management cannot "ask" the parents to "manage their kids" with this task becoming more difficult as the drinks continue to flow; but then have a place for the BIG kids with BIG $$$ to spend AWAY from the MADNESS! If this is the way Margaritaville is going, I guess I will have to find another place to dream of the places expressed in Jimmy Songs....

Knew about what others said before dropping $120 for lunch with the family so I was not expecting that much. Was greeted at door and we asked for harbor side table and we got the best one in the house. Was not that busy and we had a new waitress who was figuring some things out, but very attentive and really nice. Drinks were over-priced and yummy. Do not buy the blender cup/drink - waitress talked it up so much, we were excited only to be let down that it was a miniature blender cup (duh!). Had Fins to the Left and it was nice and refreshing. The food was the only letdown - but again, I knew the food would be close to say your local Applebee's or Chilis. Had to have the Cheeseburger In Paradise and it was good, but special like I had hoped. Small helping of fries as well which was disappointing. Clearly the name Margaritaville is a licensed brand that is sold into these resort-resturant-in-a-box outfits for high tourist traffic. I get that, but was hoping in the future that they truly make it memorable by developing really tasty food that is **unique** to the brand. The Cheeseburger should have knocked my socks off, but it wasent above and beyond your local 5 Guys Burger - maybe a tad below in fact. Customers should be leaving and wanting more to come back based on the experience - when all it is becomes is an average-blink in a distant memory. And maybe that is perfectly fine for the brand.

Was a little worried at first about going to such a touristy spot, but was pleasantly surprised. Recommend the Livin It Up margarita and the volcano nachos. Our table of 7 was starving and the nachos hit the spot. The grouper sandwich was good and the kids liked the sweet potato fries. If you go, sit on the second floor balcony overlooking the bay. It's the best spot. The service was pretty good. Friendly. After a day at the beach, go for the view and a margarita.

Another Boardwalk tourist trap. We were nearby and called to check the wait. We were told no wait and could be seated immediately. When we arrived 5 min. later we were told there was a 45 min wait. It seems several of the restaurants in the area say whatever they can on the phone to get you in the door in hopes you'll stay. In checking other reviews it seems we're not the only ones experiencing this. I'll not be giving my $$ to any place where deception is part of the SOP.

the margaritas were awesome and the views from the outdoor patio decks were great. Two awesome frozen drinks for 6 bucks each was great! I thought it was cool to see that there happy hour begins at 9pm instead of your traditional 5 pm like most lame bars do. The manager was friendly also. Might have to go back tomm night for another awesome rita! They make Jimmy proud here!

Well....tried to take the in-laws to dinner for a nice sunset experience.....struck out with this restaurant. Not only were both hostesses not interested in seating us but they estimated the wait to be an hour and a half. Unsat.

Though we loved the food, we would've eaten here for the view alone. Sitting on the edge of the water was amazing (we don't live near a beach, so give us some slack). I had the coconut shrimp for lunch and my fiancé had a burger for lunch (can't quite remember the name but it had barbecue and bacon in it). Mine was amazing- not too crazy about the coleslaw, but the shrimp was wonderful. He loved his burger too! There are some cool options here, especially drink-wise. It is a bit overpriced, but we don't regret it because we loved the food and the atmosphere so much. In our eyes, it's worth what we paid. Also- service is great; they're all super fun and enthusiastic!

I have been twice. The first time we shared some appetizers and got some margaritas. We did the drunken shrimp and the nachos because of hearing rave reviews. I don't know if this was an isolated visit but the nachos were about on par to what you get at taco bell. Nothing exciting, or fancy, and definitely not worth the price we paid. The shrimp and margarita however were fantastic. 2nd visit we got the drunken shrimp appetizer again (still fantastic) and this time we went bigger and ordered meals, DH got grouper and I got a burger. No where was either meal worth the money we paid. I have come to the conclusion that this "restaurant" is way better at being just a bar for the scenery. I will no longer come here to have dinners, but I will definitely come here to kick back and watch the water with a nice drink in hand.

If you are a fledgling parrothead you will enjoy the experience of Margaritaville. The music, the artwork, and the staff all contribute to the experience. However, if you are an old-salt parrothead, be prepared for a change. The overall look and feel is the same but the Buffett level of quality went missing with the sale of all the Margaritavilles to International Meal Company. Gone is the Cheese Burger in Paradise plate and with it the cheese burger one would dream of while sailing on the water for too long. The replacement is passable but we would not order one again. I am not sure if it was 1000 Island Dressing on it but it does not belong there. Volume wise, the "Perfect Margarita" seems to be about 1/2 of what you would normally get, but there is more than ample ice. As for the level of alcohol, we had two apiece and could not tell it had any tequila. Good things: they now have sweet potato fries and the staff is excellent as is the view from the patio. Go for the experience, but beyond that there are other places that have similar great views but have better food and drink.

  • David D.

Jimmy would be disappointed. Dinner on 6/10/14, an hour to get appetizers and another hour to get an entre, not one drink refill. The food was almost as disappointing as the service. We had seven in our party and each order was mediocre. To boot, the people ordered the cheeseburger all of which were either luke warm or just bland. If there is one entre at this place that should stand out, it should be the cheeseburger!

It was our first time in here and it was just a quick stop for drinks. After being seated about 15 seconds a manager named Fabio greeted and welcomed us giving us some idea as to what drinks are good on the menu...He even threw in a free margarita for the fiancé which was awesome. Had a great experience and look forward to coming back. Thanks to Margaritaville and to the manager Fabio for taking great care of the newbies, we will definitely be back.

Margaritaville is awesome. In the interest of full disclosure, my band, Jacob Mohr Band, is the house band at Margaritaville Destin. We play live at 9 o'clock every Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday night. Margaritaville now offers drink specials after 9 PM. Most people do not know anything about this. It's a locals secret! $3 beers, $4 wells, $5 wine, and $6 margaritas. They serve food late. You will find outstanding food and service. It is an authentic Jimmy Buffett's Margaritaville experience with attention to detail. Fins up!

Not impressed. Overpriced and mediocre. Coconut shrimp was just okay, but not worth $20. The avocado in the salad was rubbery and not ripe. The children's mac and cheese was the microwave easy mac that they charged $8 for, and they didn't even make it properly. The children's chicken strips were tasteless. My 2 year old, who eats everything, wouldn't even touch them. To top it off, the waitress messed up our tickets. I guess you're paying solely for the ambiance, because the food isn't worth the price.

Fish tacos here are perfection! I could eat them any day of the week! The staff is super friendly as well. Come before dinner time, this place gets super packed every night.

Truly awful tourist trap. Great views. Ridiculously expensive drinks and bad food. Service took forever (45 mins) even though it wasn't busy. All the review posted are negative. No comments from the management? I guess they just don't care.

After reading the mostly negative reviews about this place, I almost didn't come, but something told me to ignore them, so I did. The atmosphere was very friendly, and our waiter was more than happy to offer suggestion on what to order. I ordered the fish tacos, and requested them grilled. (Great choice!) others in my party ordered the seafood Mac and cheese. (Another winner.). Overall, the atmosphere was relaxed and enjoyable, the staff was quite friendly and helpful, and the food was great!
