My mom has gone a few times and been telling me to go, and I finally when on a date night with my boyfriend. It is actually very good. Our server was okay. But it took him a while to clear plates as we finished. Great environment we enjoyed.

Two stars because we had a fabulous server, not sure of her name but she was terrific. We were a party of 6 adults and 3 teens, we asked to be seated close but separate tables which was accommodated with no problem. She as attentive but didn't hover. The best was at end of the meal when I asked for coffee, she said they didn't serve coffee any longer! Huh what??? In south Florida! She said she'd go find me a coffee somehow and she did! Excellent! However food was blah. I don't eat sushi so I can't comment on that. We ordered the hibachi deluxe, strip steak and lobster. Food was actually cold. The lobster was over cooked as well as the steak. Fried rice was not very flavorful either. It was suggested that we get the fried brownie for dessert, big mistake. Tempura battered brownie with ice cream in the middle. Fried brownie ice cream tasted terrible. I took one bite of the tempura brownie and that was it. It tasted like it was fried I old oil, ugh. I took two bites of ice cream and decided not to waste the calories. Coffee was good. Friends we went with said the sushi was good. The lava roll had a nice presentation with dried ice on the plate and nice decorations. They said it was good. They rave about the food there, but I didn't like it. If it wasn't for the fact that we went as a group, I would not have chosen this place.

Great service, very attentive staff. Our server let us to try some sake before deciding on a flavor (all delish but coconut was a fav). We ordered miso soup (which was awesome) as well as sesame tuna and Caribbean roll, both recommended by our awesome server. These were excellent choices, nothing was left in the end. Of course we finished our meal with Thai doughnuts, yum!! Def recommend. Price was great, service and food were excellent.

I'm writing this review from the car as my husband and I are leaving the parking lot. (No worries, my husband is driving.) The ONLY reason I am giving two stars is because of the taste of the food. Let me start at the beginning... We were seated quickly, however, we were seated in a row of tables that is along the path that the servers take from the kitchen to the outside area. My chair was bumped into no less than 25 times. No exaggeration. Our server came to get our drink orders (waters), but since we also already knew what we wanted for dinner we placed that order as well. My husband ordered a dragon roll, and a steak teriyaki with added shrimp and scallops, and a special fried rice. I ordered the hibachi steak, fried rice and miso soup (included with my meal). Before anything was on our table the manager came by to ask how everything was... Ummmm. Fine we guess. There was obviously NOTHING on our table. But umm okay. It took 10 minutes for us to get our waters. Yea. Simple glasses of water. After another 20 minutes our meals arrived. No sight of the soup (which usually comes out before the meal) nor the dragon roll... We also had NO silverware. We asked our server for silverware and sat back, hands in our laps, as we waited for the server to track down some silverware. It wasn't nearby. She had to go in the back to find. I find this awkward since it should be quite handy. I advised our server to not bring the soup and she did come back with the dragon roll. My food was "cold". As in, it was sitting there while my husband's dinner was made. The outside of my pieces of steak were cold and the middle was just mildly warm. Not hot. I even had my husband taste it. I, however, don't believe in sending something back to the kitchen. The food tasted good. If it had been hot it would have been DELICIOUS. It didn't get to live up to its potential. When our server brought us our meals we did ask for extra shrimp sauce. We were almost done eating when those finally arrived. I will say that the servers ARE QUICK to take you plate away when they think you are done. They are also quick to give you your check. The place was busy, but it isn't a large restaurant. I also noticed that there was a LOT of staff present. What I did find interesting was that when our server brought us the bill to sign, she actually bent down and tried to make conversation with us. She asked if we had been there before (no) and I guess my displeasure was written all over my face. She began to say how she would LOOOOVE to have us back when they aren't so busy cause she was running around, and she told us about their happy hours. I saw this as a last ditch effort to save her tip. Now for the two dinner (no drinks) our bill was $100. Unacceptable and NOT worth what was our dinner. I can say that it was the first and last time my husband and I will be visiting Sushi Sake Davie.

Let's start with the sushi presentation was horrible, sushi was falling apart and taste was definitely second rate. Second the special fried rice Shrimp was way over cooked Chicken also over cooked Steak was beyond well done And the rice looks like the bottom scrap from the pot

I had amazing sushi before but this place takes the cake. There sushi style caters to the culture they are surrounded by. I was being stereotypical being from the West Indies and got a Caribbean roll and it was amazing, Along Side that I had a sesame roll and Miami Heat roll. I was in a Sushi coma. The manager visited the table and the server Alayna was not only super sweet, but funny had an amazing vibe and was a great server. Thank you for an amazing lunch/dinner.

It was a nice experience, and most importantly the meal was amazing. The music was major throw back and it was an amazing feeling. My girls and I will definitely be going back.

If you want to eat second rate Asian cuisine then this is the place for you. When you approach the restaurant it seems like a really cool place, their decor makes it really fun and up beat and the same vibe continues. Moving on to the meal. Well one can't really concentrate on eating when the place is playing lil Wayne at 3pm in the afternoon. I'm not at the club, I'm trying to have a late lunch. Anyway, we ordered a couple of rolls most of them were okay at best. It was like if they went to the publix supermarket next door and just bought all their supply of rolls and then served them at a higher price. Finally, we had a chicken teriyaki plate which was so tasteless It was like eating styrofoam with onions. Onions everywhere. Overall the food was terrible.... Like Soo Soo Soo bad... It wasn't worth the price. However, their staff is extremely nice and helpful. But it still doesn't make up for the club atmosphere during lunch and the mediocre food.

Came in for a quick lunch after getting my nails done. This spot is located in one of the more popular shopping centers in miramar. We were seated quickly and our waitress was nice enough but a little "rough around the edges". Decor and atmosphere was pleasant but the rolls left much to be desired. I got the miami heat and volcano rolls. The rice was mushy and asparagus was soft. They didn't taste bad but I've had better. Food overall was second rate at best.

Ok so maybe its a little pricey, but where else can you get a sushi roll with croquettes and fried plantains!? I go here mainly for this Calle Ocho roll since I find myself randomly craving it. Decor is chic and trendy and service is good. Yeah they're a little expensive but I just bite the bullet and chow down my roll before I can think about it!

I seriously love this sushi place! Def my fav in south florida. Huge menu and everything is awesome. Great vibe in the restaurant too. I've been to this one and the north Miami beach one and they're both great. Davie location is bigger. I always get the cheese maki as an appetizer and the pink panther roll.

  • Daniel J.

It was a nice atmosphere, and in a nice location. I had the chicken fried rice which was something simple. IMy wife had the Calle Ocho rolle(name???), and she loved it. I believe the difference is that it has the fried ham in it, instead of the steak. There was nothing special or that stood out about the chicken fried rice. Our waitress did a great job...I would come back again to try something different the next time we're in the area.

Decor is nice and service was fairly good, but honestly, that's all I can really compliment on. Overpriced mediocre food. There's much better sushi around. I also ordered a chicken katsu to go and when I got home and looked at it, I got depressed. It was the saddest looking meal I have ever seen.

Don't even deserve a star this time... I agree with other reviews on food being mediocre & overpriced. But even when the food is ok, the total experience at a restaurant can be great with a good atmosphere & excellent service in my opinion. It's a shame because I liked the decor and the convenience factor (next to a movie theater)... I went to the restaurant at 8pm on Sunday-not busy at all and there were many chefs and servers as I could see. It took the server forever to come to our table to take orders, then it took over 40min from order to get just the appetizer Edamame...(one of the simplest thing you can make) The server finally brought sashimi (an hour after we ordered) but no small plate for soy sauce. We could not wait till the server returns to our table so we asked another server who was standing next to our table but didn't seem to have any tables yet...she just had to bring us four small plates...her answer was "I can't..." Oh and the sashimi we thought we could finally eat turned out to be for another customer (who came in & ordered after us) so they took it back...sushi our server brought also happened to be for another table. My friends and I respectfully told her that our order was taking too long and if our order was forgotten...she claimed that the chefs were fighting in the kitchen so the order was delayed...whether that is true or not, my first response (if I was a server) would be to apologize for the delay. I can't say anything about other servers but these two girls should not be serving at any restaurants until they have proper training...Bad experience with servers this time AGAIN and I doubt I ever go back...

This was truly disappointing. We walked in fairly early on a Friday with our 2 kids. When the hostess saw our kids, she practically rolled her eyes and sent us straight outside. Mind you, it was like 5pm so not exactly "hip and fab" time, but whatever. Outside it was hot and the waiter was completely lost. Took him forever to bring our beers and kids sodas. Ants were marching past us. The gyoza appetizers were good, so we perked up. Then came the kids teriyaki. Ugh. I ordered the "lobster hibachi" - enormous letdown. And my husband's meal was horrible. We opted for dessert, dont ask me why. Finished a sugary cheesecake something and left with an overpriced bill and not even a nod from the hostess. Count me in for NEVER!

Ok let's go. We were greeted by a young girl and she told us to pick any booth or table. I was a little annoyed by that because I think a receptionist should take the customer to the table. Anyway we picked a table and a sweet waitress name Jennifer quickly gave us our menus. It was rather cold in there so we decided to sit outside. Jennifer was very sweet but unfortunately the guitarist was playing waaaaaay to loud. Because of the uncomfortable atmosphere, we were on our way out. Friday's was across the street so it was no issue. The birthday girl wasn't happy and we all felt as if we wasted our time. But low and behold! The owner saw us leaving and asked us what was wrong. He was very sweet. He actually escorted us to a nice table inside and lowered the AC because it was the South Pole in there. I even overheard a couple saying "thank God it's getting warm in here." Now let's get to the food. Everything was yummy. I recommend the pineapple fried rice and the angel sushi. Sooooo so good. For dessert we had the (wait for it..drum roll please) Brownie Tempora with Ice cream. So yeah, the food was great. Jennifer was wonderful. The owner was kind and even checked up on us. So I will come back.

Terrible presentation of Sashimi Platter (so ugly and fish tasted waterlogged) !!! Tuna Tataki was terrible! I wouldn't use it to patch a flat tire. Hey management....turn down the volume, dim the lights AND pretend to care!! I won't return!!!

Yelp needs to start allowing zero stars. Terrible service and terrible sushi, seriously, just go to wholefoods if you want store bought sushi. It is also very pricey and they charged $1 for eel sauce, seriously? This was all after advertising on the street and all over that Thursday had lunch specials, all of which our waitress neglected to tell us were not available on holidays. Skip this place and go to one of the other decent sushi restaurants in the area.

My husband and I came here for an evening dinner date. Pros: The decor and ambience are really nice. Server was wonderful. We were seated really quickly. Happy hour special on house sake was great. Sake selection is pretty good. Cons: Very limited and uninspired sushi menu. I got the Caliente roll-white fish with veggies and spicy mayo. There were numerous large bones in the fish! I picked out about 7 not counting the ones I most likely swallowed. No spicy salmon or yellowtail rolls Overpriced for the limited selection of sushi choices 3 stars because it's actually a nice place but the sushi itself could use some work. It seems like they spent all the time and energy on the inside decor. If youre looking to get your sushi fix, there's a much tastier and less pricey place up the road, I think we'll stick with there...

  • Timothy C.

Exceeded our expectations and we'll worth the price! Yes this place is a little pricey, but if you want good sushi not from a buffet then you need to expect a higher cost. We ordered a sushi party platter and some sashimi. It was all great! The fish was fresh and the presentation was excellent. We scarfed down all of the food in record time. We ordered for delivery so I cannot comment on the building itself. They delivered within the time they gave.

One freaking star review. Holy crap. Rarely do I ever really write reviews this poor. But when you're labeling yourself as a Sushi restaurant and charging New York City type prices - your damned Sushi better be New York City damned quality. But it wasn't. This poor establishment trying to cater to the "sushi" crowd is a complete failure. Maybe if they charged take out type prices that'd be okay. But when you're trying to act like a top tier sushi spot, poorly made sushi and overpriced. And there's a lot of space and a decent interior, but that also doesn't matter when the place was completely empty and my friend and I barely got any service. And when I mean completely empty, I'm talking almost dead. Yet for some reason the server didn't check in on us once. The moment we had our food, getting water and or finally our check was a real pain. Not place I'd go back to. If you want real sushi, look elsewhere.

Beautiful decor, overpriced menu. I agree 100% with the other reviews saying that this place isn't that great. Came here on a whim for lunch because my friend and I were craving sushi. So all in all I'm just gonna lay it out flat: Pros: - Staff is nice and friendly - Clean - Fancy/beautiful decorations - TV in the ladies bathroom Cons: - Overpriced menu: we went for lunch, excepting some sort of decent deal... Sushi was pretty much the same price on the lunch menu as the dinner one. - Random ass lamp in the middle of the table: it's right smack in the middle! I couldn't even see my friend's face, so we moved it to the side, just like the other guest did (from what I noticed lol). - They charge you $1 for a side of spicy mayo -____- My real issue is the price of the menu... Don't get me wrong, the food was good, (I didn't even end up getting sushi lol, I got chicken teriyaki instead) but honestly my friend and I were talking about that we could go to Shin Ju and eat at a sushi buffet for the same price as what they're making us pay for a 8-10 piece roll. There are way better and CHEAPER places to eat raw fish.

Definitely try the Miami Heat roll! The hibachi shrimp and steak was also a good choice! Order both the pineapple and coconut and mix them both to make a great piña colada sake. Looking forward to returning for free sake Thursday's.

I was hoping this place would be better considering I am moving pretty close-by. Perhaps I am spoiled by the abundance of high quality sushi in Miami-Dade, but Sushi Sake was just OK for me. The interior is nice enough - dark and sleek with flat screens showing music videos on rotation. I can see this being good place for happy hour in the burbs. However nice the interior is, the food is what matters. We started with the pork shumai which oddly came with a huge side of mayo. Not wasabi mayo, just a large dipping tray of mayo. Gross! I went with the lunch sushi assortment and found it to be ok. Not bad, but certainly not high quality. I guess as a delivery option this place will do, but in the area I think that Blue Ginger, RA and Kiko's are much better.

Service here is usually hit or miss. Lately it's been misses- My last 2 experiences with them were pretty bad. I ordered delivery and food got to my house 1.5 hours later and cold. I live about 2 miles away. Then the time before that, our server was awful! He had perfectly styled hair but had no idea how to treat 2 female patrons. I even had someone serve me my food, TAKE IT AWAY, then bring it back. Lol! Yeah, the service needs work, food is usually good.

If you can, go to the one on Biscayne instead. The food at this location is okay, but I found this location to be slightly more expensive for mediocre food. The soup I ordered looked like a bootleg version of the one served at the Biscayne location. They even charge for Sriracha! Just go to Biscayne! Oh and the other reviews were correct they are a tad on the unprofessional side.

Great service, the presentation of the food was interesting. Big portions and great variety of sushi. The only negative part was that I was drinking tea and when I was ready to eat the waitress told me they where making more tea, but it never came so I had to eat my meal with water.

This is the second time I've been here an I thought it was great... Until We found a plastic wrapper in our food We spoke to a waiter nearby who told us he would look for the manager. She came 10 minutes later and looked at our table and said "So what do you want... Another plate?" I couldnt believe it. We were so shocked we just said yes and waited for my husband to get a new plate. Our waitress was super apologetic, as well as the waiter who helped us but the manager Natalie sucked royally! I will never ever come back.

  • Hector G.

Awful service. Don't even try it. Worst experience as it took more than 45 min and when asked for our food we got an dumb excuse. Manager Alexandra (not sure if she got any training at all) did not handle the situation at all. Not even an apology.

  • Diana N.

The Calle Ocho Roll is to die. It's not exactly sushi because there is no raw fish involved. It comes with rice, ham croquetta and picnic chips... DE-LISH-ES. I have also had the hibachi chicken and the hibachi steak here which do not disappoint. Prices are pretty high though, so be prepared to see a big check.

We got a flyer in the mail and decided to give it a try and have it delivered. BIG mistake! Wife had chicken teriyaki and spring rolls, and I had the salmon teriyaki. $47 after tipping the very polite driver. All we got was cooked meat and rice for the main dishes...$3 up charge each for brown rice... Wife and I both got sick...not saying where I started writing this review from...

This restaurant has great ambiance but due to the location and appearance, the pricing is way too much! We thoroughly enjoyed our meal, however after a smaller than desired or normal order of edamame and a few rolls, we were almost sticker shocked over the price. The rolls are amazing and we were asking for a second roll of the Kani su and the "house" recommends the ceviche roll.....so we tried it. We didn't care for it and ate less than a slice a piece... They left the pricing on the bill. That was disappointing and we gave the feedback that when the house recommends something and the customer hates it and doesn't even take it home, they should remove it from the bill or give a discount on it. It remained in the bill. We ate the dolphin, Rene, cowboy, Kani su, and orgasm (lava) roll and they were all amazing!!! Wildly over-priced, but amazing. So, if you save up and want good sushi, this is the place to be, but if you don't have $200 with tip to spend on sushi and a couple of drinks, don't go.... Our server was amazing and the manager was very attentive when there was confusion over the menu and a roll (which was straightened out quickly....and he was very apologetic)..... However ambiance and service don't compensate for over-priced food.

This was a truly disappointing lunch. Party of 2, placed a simple order of ONE sushi roll and a salmon lunch special while the restaurant was not at all busy. 40 min later still no food or update from our server. May not have been her fault but communication is key if there has been a mistake in the kitchen. Manager didn't seem very interested in feedback and didn't offer anything in return for our time. Would not recommend and will not come back. Prices are also a little high for quality of food and to be charged $3 to substitute white rice with brown rice for a salmon lunch special is absurd.

If I am rating the food and the look of the restaurant, I would rate this a four star. Regarding everything else, I am being generous with three stars. I must say the restaurant seemed so unprofessional. While waiting for my food, at 9:10 P.M., two gentleman decided to start mopping the floors. Now this wouldn't be significant if it were a spill. Nope, they were mopping the entire restaurant, as people were seated at their tables and new customers were still coming in. It was almost comical because other patrons were staring at them as I did. I'm sure wondering why they chose to do this as this busy restaurant was still open for business. Glad no one slipped too. I initially thought maybe this was occurring because there was no manager, but a bit later it was apparent that there was a manager on duty. The servers congregated quite a bit and food service was really slow. Hope this was an off day because this was my first visit and I was a disappointed.

Never going again! Worst customer service ever. We sat at the table for 10 minutes and no one even asked us what we wanted to drink. The sad thing is that this isn't the first time this happens but I always go back, this time they helped everyone around us even those who arrived after us. We were sitting at the table as if we were invisible.

Nice looking fancy restaurant. I got there before 11:10PM with a party of 4, me included and we were told that dine-in was closed, only takeout. Really bad service, when there was only one table that was done eatting meaning or food would of came out fast. Will not eat there, not try their food....

  • Tatiana B.

Very disappointed experience. The food came late, and the order was incorrect, the brought 2 of the same roll, and forgot another one in our order. But up to here we were still ok, no big deal. Then the manager came to say "I checked your order and you have ONLY waited 30 minutes" and they proceeded to take our plate away to throw in the garbage the extra roll. What kind of customer service is this?! Had she said, keep the extra roll for the inconvenience, or had she at least apologized for the delay and mistake, I would have been ok. But they rather throw food in the garbage. Very upsetting! I am not one to right negative reviews, but this time I just had to.

The location is decorated nicely and clean. The ambience and music videos playing make it a fun place but it can get loud! Staff was attentive and food was delivered to the table fast. However the food is average and a bit salty for my personal taste. Plates are priced high and don't deliver the quality you expect....

Very good place to dine. We have this place in our regular rotation. Its good for kids and very nice place. Food is good and they have variety. I love suchi but my wife doesn't so it works out great because they have different plates not necessarily asian. She usually orders the grilled salmon with vegetable and its really good. Kids usually order chicken fingers or a suchi. Service is really good and they have inside and outside seating which is very convenient. Price is fair to high but worth it. Make sure to try the not-so-traditional rolls and appetizers, they are strangely delicious.

If I could leave a zero star review, I would. As a kid I've gone to many sushi places because of my dad's job, so I have a good background knowledge of this kind of thing. Getting seated to getting the check took the span of three hours, over half of which was spent waiting (for the waiter, food, and even the damn check). The food was way overpriced and the quality was sub par. I've had better food from publix. At the end of our meal, we talked to the manager, hoping for at least a discount for being forced to wait so long. In reply, we were told that there was no available discounts for us and didn't even apologies, worse yet he denied our claims about how long we waited. In short if you're looking for overpriced, cheap food, poor service, and a place to spend most of your Saturday evening, this place is for you! The only positive thing I have to say about this restaurant is that their bathrooms have TVs and the only place there that won't let you down.

Absolutely terrible service! We waited 20 minutes and a server had not even acknowledged us to ask for our order or even bring water. My husband was really upset and we walked out. Not recommended. Terrible experience.

  • Stephanie P.

It's a little pricey, but the sushi is absolutely worth it! Especially the Miami heat roll. My boyfriend and I have tried many different rolls and always end up leaving saying "we should've got two Miami heat rolls." However, the appetizers are very overpriced especially for the portions.

  • Alex B.

This place is horrid. The service is everything less than mediocre. The hostess and manager are complete idiots. I asked for a table outside and they denied me service because they were "reserved" I was later told by an EMPLOYEE that this restaurant doesn't take reservations. I later on sat down and ordered my food. As I was waiting I kept hearing very disturbing regaeton (Spanish rap) music. Who the hell plays Spanish rap at a sushi joint? On top of all that, they have cheap party city strobe lights that kept blinding me. Before my food came out I was greeted by a cockroach. That is disgusting. I told the manager but all he did was look at me with a blank face and killed it...with my napkin...really? He didn't even apologize, he tried to make up a few excuses. Save your money, save your time.

  • Lisa R.

So this review is not about the food. The sushi is fairly consistent though I have noticed the pieces of fish getting smaller. Nonetheless, the sushi is tasty and there are interesting rolls, my favorite being the Miami heat roll with avocado on top. My issue is with the customer service, specifically the hostess and manager. My husband and I asked to sit outside, we were told the 4 tops are not to be given to parties of 2. Ok so we sat inside. Literally 5-10 later one of the seats we had asked about outside was sat by a couple. Needless to say I was irked, but figured maybe others are joining them. That was not the case, we finished our meal and no one joined the couple outside. We spoke with the manager who did not really apologize and made excuses. She asked that when we come back to ask for her and she will seat us wherever. Obviously that is not the point. We just expect to be treated fairly.

I'm not a huge fan of sushi but I do love love teriyaki and came here with a friend after going to the movies. I ordered the fried gyoza as an appetizer and they were delicious. Nice and crisp with a super flavorful dipping sauce. I then ordered the Teriyaki steak and again the sauce was fantastic. I'm not sure how long they've been open but it's super nice/clean for a restaurant in a strip mall and the stylish decor helps keep it looking new. The only problem with the decor was the random tall... goblet-esque fixture on the middle of the table that I had to move out of the way in order to talk to my friend across the table. Only issue with this place was the portion sizes compared to the prices. While I loved the food the portions were tiny. I got 5 dumplings which were pretty small and I could've used a lot more steak for $17.

Zero customer service. Whereas food is hit or miss, tonight they put the icing on the cake (no pun intended). They refused to put a single candle on their complimentary cotton candy and refused to sing happy birthday because dessert was not purchased. Terrible terrible decision. Zero score to management and ownership. A five dollar dessert blemishes in comparison to the $250 bill. And they managed to ruin the birthday celebration at the end when we were all happy.

It seems to me that the majority of the negative reviews here are related to the service - I probably had a different experience based on the fact that I've come here during the week for lunch (I work nearby and it's a favorite birthday lunch spot) instead of Friday or Saturday night dinner. Our service has been very good, although to be fair I'm sure it's much less crowded for lunch than for dinner. While the decor is a little stark, and the hip-hip/pop music videos pretty intense, I really think that's the vibe they were going for. I don't think they're trying to be a family friendly spot - I think their idea is to be more of a hip lounge. The food we had was great, and very fairly priced both for the portion and what I felt was fairly high quality. I ordered a Kendall roll and shared gyoza and chicken fried rice. The gyoza was pretty standard, but the Kendall roll and fried rice were both delicious. They give you a side of "shrimp sauce" similar to what they offer you at a benihana which goes great with the rice - which alone was light, fluffy, and very tasty. Too often fried rice tends to get dry or hard - the rice here is perfect. The coworkers I was with had Angel rolls, Volcano rolls, and Dragon rolls, and all were very happy with their selections. This place is definitely great for lunch, but maybe needs to be avoided on Friday/Saturday night or by parents who are worried about what music videos their kids might end up seeing. I look forward to visiting their Brickell location which is much closer to where I live.

The decoration is nice but that's about it... It is really loud, over priced, and the food was horrible. The sushi was priced like quality sushi but was very bland and did not taste fresh. The hibachi was dripping in oil and that was all you could taste. The server did not refill my water the entire meal...

I have to agree with all of the previous complaints about the service here. To be fair, the one time I dined in, it wasn't bad. But I ordered take-out tonight as I was very ill. By the time I got home, I realized that neither the eel sauce nor the spicy mayo were included after I confirmed they would be included when I called AND at pick-up. When I called in, the manager first tried to tell me that I was mistaken and that it shouldn't have been included and THEN he told me that if I wasn't willing to get out of the bed (I'm quite noticeably sick), that "there's nothing else he can do". That's fine. I will not be going back. It's a good thing I just learned about Kiko's in Plantation. I know they will appreciate my business.

Ordered takeout. One appetizer, two entrees, and fried rice, $75.00. We ordered the shrimp hibachi, shrimp were so dry and overcooked, very small portion. The steak hibachi was also a very small portion. Even the vegetable portions were very small. Everything lacked flavor. Very disappointing.

Worst sushi ever !!!! I came twice to this place and both were a disappointment. You would think with the name of the restaurant it would be at least decent sushi. Never coming back to this place. Don't let the nice flashy interior fool you!!! You'll need A LOT OF SAKE for the sushi to taste good.

Came in around dinner time at 5. Was seated right away. Service was very slow to have a lot of service hanging around the sushi bar and two other tables near us. The server took awhile, to get to us. When he did he didn't greet by saying hello or anything. Just stood there. Lol then I said can we have two waters please. Came back took our order then I asked for spicy mayo and he said it would be one dollar extra for spicy mayo. I have never heard of a place that charges for sauce. Then he brought out the food and brought 2 Cali rolls when I ordered only one. Then he didn't apologize and he insisted that I ordered two. Finally he never comes to check on us til the end and just dropped off the check. Not nice at all didn't ask for dessert. Needless to say I won't be coming back. The decor is nice but not to my liking this place. Don't waste your time. Go else where

Two stars only based on sushi rolls and Service. This place is only worth more than two stars if you have only eaten sushi rolls in Florida. Other than the the mediocre sushi rolls the service was like every other place in Florida pretty slow.

Honesty IS the best policy! The day after we ate at Sushi Sake my husband noticed his credit card was missing. We called the restaurant (the last place he remembered using it) and they had it! We are so thankful for honest employees that do not take advantage of people's misfortunes! Thank you, Sushi Sake! :-)

First problem---not one Japanese person working there. My fave sushi spot is a hidden gem run and frequented by Japanese people. So I prefer fresh, high quality sushi. I can do buffet sushi once in a while but when I pay the prices listed on their menu I have higher expectations. ONLY go there if you cannot be bothered to drive beyond Pembroke Pines and are looking for a little ambiance.

Went there for dinner tonight and the service was terrible. Half of the staff doesn't speak English and their "special sauce" for their age tofu appetizer is nothing special it's just eel sauce. Age tofu should be served with ponzu sauce not eel sauce. The chicken Katsu was dry and again the sauce of choice was eel sauce. I asked for ponzu sauce and was charged $1.00 for it. I ordered a spicy tuna hand roll and since it had no spice I asked for spicy mayo and they of course charged me $1.00. The waitress took for ever to check back on is after the food arrives. Overall it's was mediocre food with terrible service. They will not get my business again. Also the complimentary cotton candy never came.

~ First time here - visiting from Houston. Ordered the Hollywood, Marlins, and Volcano rolls. All were pretty bland except for the Volcano roll. Service was decent although some of the hostesses looked completely stone - faced and didn't smile at all. The atmosphere was definitely not for kids, they play music videos on every single TV screen and it was very loud in the restaurant.

Friendly waitress and good service, but more than music videos on wall monitors, nothing special with food. Prices too high.

Mutual friends have been bragging about this place for a while so the hubby and I let them talk us into meeting them there for dinner. Let's just say I'm addicted. Picture a Sushi roll with rice, ham croquetta and picnic papitas... Awesome. I know. Guess what?! If you order the Calle Ocho roll you can have it! What I like most about this place is that although they have the fancy "modern" rolls you can also enjoy the yummy authentic rolls. My personal fave... The JB roll. It's simple, fresh and tasty. Not a Sushi fan? The noodles and hibachi are also a good choice. The hibachi chicken is hands down the best and it comes with a delicious order of fried rice. The wine selection is also decent and well priced. Although, I didn't like the plum wine. Wait... Wait... It gets better!! They deliver to the pines area. I'm sold. The decor is modern and trendy. The service is great! You almost forget that you are in Pines and feel like this restaurant is in South Beach. Oh and it's walking distance the the nice movie theater. What's the catch? The prices. My delivery order for 3 was $97 (with no alcohol). But I would pay it again for the convenience of having delicious Sushi and Hibachi delivered to my front door.

OK let's be honest the only reason this restaurant is still here is because you either have a choice between McDonald's or this place at 12am and I have to say Mc Donalds has by far 10 times better service then Sushi Sake.... I mean seriously when there is no one in the place and you order a simple non cooked sushi roll for carry out why do you always have to wait 25 to 30 min...Last time I ordered ...I had to tell the manager who took my order to see if it was ready because he forgot and was to busy playing with his phone at the table ...he was sitting at...In closing sushi sake is one of those restaurants that does some business in spite of how messed up they are...

    (1)
  • Katrina G.

Service was mediocre, and there was really annoying reggaeton music playing the entire time. Also I kindly asked for them to substitute asparagus in my roll for cucumber instead. Cucumber is a cheaper vegetable and they insisted on charging me a dollar for the substitution...really?! My family ordered 8 rolls, this was a large check, you're going to charge extra FOR A CHEAPER VEGETABLE ?!? And then they put a bunch of cucumber on another roll we ordered AS A GARNISH....ridiculous.

Honestly, I have eaten sushi everywhere. This was right by the movies so we decided to try it out. Like my wife says in the design industry "fireworks and glitter" ... they spend a lot on the interior and look of the place. My wife ordered Japanese Katsu Chicken. It was the least amount of chicken possible to almost an insult. The sushi roll was decent but $9 for a $5 type roll. However if you're into paying for overhead of a business, you know... the tile, the furnishings, and the excuses, please come here.

The sushi rolls were good and the White Russian desert was amazing. I really loved the decor and the music videos that played on every tv. It's a nice touch! The only thing that bothered me a little was the lighting. It was too bright in there for dinner.

I thoroughly enjoyed not only my meal, but the service as well. This place is really cute. I love the decor and the staff, neatly dressed and attentive, were always nearby. I ordered my favorite, a Spicy Tuna roll, and an Angel roll. Both were fantastic. My husband isn't crazy about raw food so he ordered a Shrimp Tempura roll and a California Roll. I didn't taste the California Roll but the Shrimp Tempura roll was really good. This place is located in the same shopping center where CineMark movie theatre is. We actually went to this plaza to go to Blue Ginger, which is also a Sushi spot but they were closed until 5pm and I was starving! Since I had Sushi on the brain, we got lucky and happened upon this place. I'm happy I did because I learned that they have Happy Hour and that they stay open until 3am some nights. Some of their rolls are quite expensive and they even have a special menu with specialty rolls which cost up to $35. I'll be back here for sure! Can't wait to try out other menu items and Happy Hour!

  • Neil M.

We waited ten minutes before our server asked for our order. She greeted us with "sorry it took so long". The place wasn't even busy. The speed didn't improve. Very loud music which makes the patrons talk louder.... With all the tile surfaces it was just noise. When our food did come (Angel Roll and Seafood Noodles) the presentation was very nice but the flavor was not! We hurried through our meal just to get out of there!

After going to this place a second time and having the same experience, I decided to make an account just so I could make a review. The first time my boyfriend I went to this place, we didn't know what to expect but the place was really nice and the hostesses at the front were friendly. Once we were seated though, our waitress seemed very short which didn't come off as shy but rude and annoyed. I believe the only things she said to us was asking what we wanted to drink and to eat. Even when we asked for a check or she cleared our table, she didn't say anything. I'm not one to expect to have full conversations with my waitress but I do expect them to be a little more friendly. However, the food was good and although pricey, we figured we'd come back again under the assumption that maybe our waitress was just having a bad day. Now the second time we came here will absolutely be our last. Once again, the hostesses at the front were friendly but our service from the waiter was completely subpar. He never introduced himself, just asked us what we wanted to drink and we told him we were also ready to order. I waited for a second, expecting him to pull out a pen to write down our order but he then looked at me, sternly saying, "What do you want?" This made me a little hesitant, not so much his attitude but I just had a feeling he would forget something and understandably so. I've worked at a restaurant before and even if it was a small order, I'd always write it down just in case. My suspicions were correct when he didn't bring out a rainbow roll I ordered (my boyfriend confirmed to me that I had ordered it and it wasn't just my mistake). When I told our waiter about it he claimed that I never ordered it as if it was my fault he chose not to write it down and forgot it, but I brushed it off. I just wanted to get my food and leave. He shows up a few minutes later with a mangled rainbow roll that the fish wasn't even cut all the way through so it kind of all stuck together. It just looked messy. I understand, he's the waiter and didn't make the roll but it definitely didn't make me feel any better about the place. Overall, the sushi is good and I can look past the price, but the staff's poor attitudes ruins the entire experience.

Came alone for lunch. Waited outside on the bench for 15 mins until they opened at noon. They turned on the sound system that feeds to the outdoor speakers and I was blasted off my seat because the volume was at max. It was quickly adjusted and then I was treated to explicit rap. Not sure why I went in at this point except that I really wanted sushi. Service was fine since there were only three tables occupied. I ordered a salad and 8-piece sushi. The salad was very bitter and some lettuce was brown (not much). I couldn't eat it. They offered to bring me a soup instead. It arrived in a dirty bowl with lipstick and other schmutz on the outside. I couldn't get myself to eat that either since I couldn't imagine that the inside was any cleaner. I wasn't charged for it. The sushi was fine. This was my second time here and I don't recall having any issues on my first visit. I won't be returning.

Totally lousy service!! Our group of friends held a birthday party and there for a sweet sixteen and the girls were rushed out without even finishing their entrees as they wanted to use the tables for others even though they were only there for just over an hour. 3 requests for water were ignored and only on the 4th try did they bring it to the table. No dessert was offered towards the end with just the bill brought to the table to pay. Outside of that the good was mediocre at best. If you're hungry for good food and simple service them go and spend your money elsewhere!! Wish there was an option for negative stars for the rating aspect.

Came here couple times being conveniently located next to the theater, but i think this is my last time. Everytime i come, i never had good experiences here. Service is bad, and the various rolls we tried is just average at best. The so called happy hours they have always seems to be full of tricks; we came here on Thursday for apprently free sake thursday but when we went they said theres no happy hour because its new years day. The prices are way overpriced for average food. I'm not surprised this place only has 2 star rating.

Pretty good for late night local sushi. Menu selection is good but they could be better on price. Besides my idea of a perfect reality, this place was really good! I'm definitely making this place a new regular spot for me! Awesome dining environment but the waitress was snobby when I picked up my food.

At first it feels like your walking into a club in South Beach, dark, loud pumping music and video screens everywhere! I was waiting for the chicks in the bikini tops to come out! Food was actually good for a place in suburgatory (Davie). I had a crazy signature roll called 'Calle Ocho' that you should try out.

The food tastes stale, definitely not fresh. It's my second time here and my impression hasn't improved at all. Also, the waiter completely forgot to serve our soup. The place looks nice but the food is just not good at all.

Sushi Sake wanted to charge me a dollar for eel sauce even though the JB Roll was supposed to come with it. Very expensive - not worth the price. Food was decent. Service was some of the WORST I've ever had. There were at least 10 servers working and not one of them knew what they were doing. Order came out wrong and had to wait over 20 min for the redo, which almost made us miss our movie. Server and manager were not apologetic whatsoever.

used to like this place, however I went today and wait like 20 minutes to be seated outside when I was told 10 minutes, then I decide to sit inside, but after ten minutes I had to leave cuz the waiter never came to take my order.... Lucky for me there was this new restaurant a few steps away "barrio Latino" excellent- , good services , good food!!

I thought it was great. I don't know why there are negative reviews. Try it for yourselves, it's awesome! I had great food and even better service. Everything was fresh and in line with some of the better sushi I'd ever had. They even had a happy hour with half off drinks from 4-7!

I'm Done w/ this Place !!! Considering the place was serving two other tables besides my family of four. I literally was waiting 40 minutes for 3 sashimi appetizers. They brought out only 2. I asked her please bring the other app. now before u bring the rolls. Well here come the rolls. Of course no spicey mayo, no eel sauce which I requested when I had placed my order. Nearly 10 minutes later I walked up to the sushi chef and asked him for it myself. Well the waitress was very apologetic afterwards, however there no excuse for this lousy service, especially in Pembroke Pines, on a Wed. nite. By the time I got my rolls we were the only table being served. Well the Marlin Roll was awful. Very Pricey. Lousy Service I Wont Be Back.

The boyfriend and I stopped in before watching a movie. We loved the ambiance right away as it was decorated very trendy in red white and black. We both ordered soup and were not impressed with the miso or the egg drop. The JB roll however was fresh and delicious. We ordered another roll they had on special, a fried wahoo roll, WHAT A TREAT! I will definitely be back again, just for that. When we asked the waitress what the bowl of sauce was that accompanied it, she said 0h thats the sauce it comes with. So we asked another server who came by and he explained what was in the sauce. Upon asking for the check the waitress brought over a big bowl of complimentary cotton candy. All in all, pretty good. Skip the soup and order the sushi.

Run away and hide from the soup (yuck!!), in which you had to choose (?) soup OR salad with hibachi, not the usual soup AND salad.. The sushi is not great either and dry of all things?!. We even had to order extra sauce to hide the taste. On top of the food being not so great, the service is VERY slow for having 5 tables MAX at dinner rush on a Saturday night, which I guess in hindsight should have been an indicator of the food experience about to come.. So I definitely wouldn't plan on seeing a movie anywhere near the time you eat!!! If you want an excellent pre-movie meal in a short amount of time I would recommend Friday's or Blue Ginger, especially if you are in the mood for sushi (they have a sushi moat!!). As for this sushi place, the food AND service are not worth the 80$ meal and 2 1/2 meal time we had.. It was WAY overpriced at only 5 sushi rolls UNDER $10.00 and a hibachi dinner at $24.00!! Definitely won't be returning to this one... The atmosphere and cotton candy at the end of the meal were the only good parts of our meal there

Never again! First the server had no idea which sakes are on the menu. He did not know the difference between filtered / unfiltered. He was unable to explain what the little star markings in front of each sake meant. The Miso soup coming with the habatchi chicken was not hot. After 55 minutes we asked where the chicken was. The server said that that the kitchen misplaced the order he will take care of it now. We received the chicken after 1:05h. It was everything but great food. Asked for the manager which was ignored by the hostess. After he finally came he told us a story about a big order to go thats why it is taking so long. Of course that was bs because people ordering after us had their food on time. The miso soup was on the check too even though it came with the chicken. Well he took that one off but did not accommodate us further than telling us lie after lie. We told him that this was our first and last time that we came to this restaurant, looking at his face he couldn't have cared less

Over-priced and brand new restaurant! Wanted to order sashimi dinner, but too expensive. Ended up leaving very hungry. The rolls were smaller than other neighboring sushi places. At least $2 more. Very strange to have an Asian restaurant with not one Asian server! Maybe the top chef? I am better off in my other favorite restaurants. Cheaper and better food!

Terrible Place - They charged us a dollar for Ponzu Sauce!!! The music is definitely R Rated- Rap music playing on the TV's Very loud The Rolls are SMALL and overpriced Horrible Place - if your in the neighborhood and want a GOOD sushi place - in the SAME plaza there is a place called Blue Ginger - MUCH BETTER than this place! I WILL NEVER GO BACK

Short and sweet. The service was terrible and slow. The hair in our dish was 'OUR FAULT" and the sushi did not appear fresh. A better name for this place would be Sushi SUCKY !!!

My family has eaten here twice. Once we ate inside the restaurant and once we did take out. The atmosphere in the restaurant is really hip and at first we didn't think we were cool enough to eat in there. But the staff was really nice. We got a bunch of different complicated sushi rolls and they were all really good. But the best thing were these noodles with chicken; the sauce was delicious. Then when they brought us our check they gave us a huge pile of pink cotton candy. That was fun.. A year later we got takeout and it was still good. But we didn't get any cotton candy for dessert with the takeout. It's kind of expensive but all sushi places are expensive. We will definitely keep coming here.

Do not come here if you are a true sushi lover. If you like hip decors, proximity to the movie theater and cotton candy, by all means knock yourself out. I had an assortment of sashimi. It was arguably the worst sashimi I've ever had at a non- buffet restaurant. NOT fresh at all. My wife had a eel roll. Rice was badly cooked and looked as if it was rolled by a 3 year-old. It was our second try. Only came here bc they're open late. I gave a generous two stars bc the server, Summer, was very friendly and attentive. And the cotton candy was free. To say they have good sashimi or good rice here I akin to saying Denny's has great steaks.

Was not impressed with the food maybe since they just opened up a week ago. It took them an hour to serve a California roll while my daughters chicken teriyaki came out 30 minutes before mines. ESpecially when there were only four people in the resteraunt. Just shocked also such a elegant place they use paper napkins. Don't get me wrong the place is beautiful and looks fun with tv's playing the latest videos and funky trendy music. The best was the cotton candy they serve at the end of the meal. Would like to go back but I will wait awhile before I go back. They one in Miami is better so I hope they will get there one day. Good luck!

We have been going to Sushi Sake since it opened. The rolls were huge, the portion sizes were great the prices were fair. We went last week for my son's birthday!! All the portion sizes are smaller now, but the prices are the same! There were gnats flying around our food, ducks on the patio eating up the food on the ground, and as always the Porn Videos that they show on the TVs! I've seen better days! Ruuunnn!

I was excited to eat here when I walked in cause it looked really nice inside. But I was really disappointed with the quality if the food. The miso soup was watered down and was not tasty at all. Then I ordered a miami heat roll and was disappointed again. I love sushi and I was very disappointed. My friend ordered a dish with salmon n veggies and gave him an undercooked salmon and onions and carrots for veggies. It was not worth the amount they were charging. If you want a good sushi place don't come here. Although it's a great atmosphere and a cool spot the food wasn't great.

A few of us popped into Sushi Sake mid-week before a movie at the Cinemark. We were very short on time and thought this would be our best option for a real meal in under an hour. I'm basically giving this restaurant two stars because I did not feel like the sushi was fresh, but the service was good. The miso soup I had was ok - just a LOT of broth. The JB Roll that my husband and I shared was fine, but I was somewhat nervous about my Rainbow Roll. The avocado was very mushy and the tuna looked darker than it should. I ate most of it, but did leave some. The staff was all very nice and accommodating. They knew we were on a time crunch and were very attentive, especially since there were only a few other people there. The toilet was VERY clogged in the women's room and when I told our waiter, he actually got right on it. Finally, the best reason to go to Sushi Sake is that if you order a roll, they will give you a small bottle of cold flavored sake for 99 cents! You can try pineapple, lychee or guava. My husband, our friend and I each tried a flavor with guava being the tastiest. It's a cool bonus that you don't see a lot of places, but not enough to make me come back.

So surprise surprise everyone contrary to popular opinion I actually like this place better than Blue Ginger! I think it's more affordable and I have always had very yummy food here. Their Miami Heat roll and fried rice are absolutely amazing!!! The only reason I gave this restaurant 3 stars like I gave Blue Ginger is because I like the sushi sake in Doral much better and this location does NOT know how to make their brownie tempura at all! I often go to sushi sake just for dessert and the 2 times I have come to this one the brownie tempura has been hard and the ice cream super hard and way too frozen! The brownie is supposed to be super soft and the ice cream not melted but definitely not hard! (Yes, I am obviously a dessert person!) so for the dessert alone this place lost a star, but I still like it better than Blue Ginger!

My experience here was AWFUL. I ordered take out and asked for an extra side of fried rice. There was a misunderstanding with the girl who took my order so I never received my rice so I asked the girl if I could just order it now cause I didn't mind waiting. The manager (a woman) giving me a high amount of attuide saying " ok so what do you want? What do you want? You want fried rice? You'd didn't ask for it so you want it or no?" In an extremely rude way. Attuide and all. Raising her voice. Mind you I was not being rude considering I do work in the restaurant business and I was not giving anyone attuide. I couldn't believe how unprofessional she was being and how she was talking to me. I will never return and that manager is absolutely horrible with no manners. Worst service Ever!!!!!

Awful service. Don't even try it. Worst experience as it took more than 45 min and when asked for our food we got an dumb excuse. Manager Alexandra (not sure if she got any training at all) did not handle the situation at all. Not even an apology.

The location is decorated nicely and clean. The ambience and music videos playing make it a fun place but it can get loud! Staff was attentive and food was delivered to the table fast. However the food is average and a bit salty for my personal taste. Plates are priced high and don't deliver the quality you expect....

It's a little pricey, but the sushi is absolutely worth it! Especially the Miami heat roll. My boyfriend and I have tried many different rolls and always end up leaving saying "we should've got two Miami heat rolls." However, the appetizers are very overpriced especially for the portions.

  • Leilani D.

  • Daniel R.

The decoration is nice but that's about it... It is really loud, over priced, and the food was horrible. The sushi was priced like quality sushi but was very bland and did not taste fresh. The hibachi was dripping in oil and that was all you could taste. The server did not refill my water the entire meal...

  • Girish M.

Several blaring televisions to R rated music videos were playing during my first and final visit. Food was okay overall. /s/ William E. Lewis Jr, Davie, Florida

  • Dave H.

Good luck!

  • Winnie M.

Ruuunnn!

  • Anina M.

Don't waste your time.. We waited for over an hour for food and the management at this place is just as bad as the food they were not sympathetic at all. There are plenty of way better sushi places.

Just a little pricey. Too noisy. Food is ok. Nothing out of the world. I will probably come back. Bad place for a romantic date.

I like their Miami Heat Roll! They have a good selection of rolls and specials. The chicken fried rice is also good but way overpriced for the size.

Several blaring televisions to R rated music videos were playing during my first and final visit. Food was okay overall. /s/ William E. Lewis Jr, Davie, Florida

Sushi Sake - 6-22-15 - (expensive compare to Shin Ju - slow if you are trying to get to movies )Next to Cinemark theater 45min to get to see San Andreas - spoke with first about time deadline - took them 25 min to get food ready ? If you can, go to the one on Biscayne instead. The food at this location is okay, but I found this location to be slightly more expensive for mediocre food. The soup I ordered looked like a bootleg version of the one served at the Biscayne location. They even charge for Sriracha! Just go to Biscayne! Oh and the other reviews were correct they are a tad on the unprofessional side.

Great service, the presentation of the food was interesting. Big portions and great variety of sushi. The only negative part was that I was drinking tea and when I was ready to eat the waitress told me they where making more tea, but it never came so I had to eat my meal with water.

  • Hector G.

Awful service. Don't even try it. Worst experience as it took more than 45 min and when asked for our food we got an dumb excuse. Manager Alexandra (not sure if she got any training at all) did not handle the situation at all. Not even an apology.

  • Yeline P.

The location is decorated nicely and clean. The ambience and music videos playing make it a fun place but it can get loud! Staff was attentive and food was delivered to the table fast. However the food is average and a bit salty for my personal taste. Plates are priced high and don't deliver the quality you expect....

Absolutely terrible service! We waited 20 minutes and a server had not even acknowledged us to ask for our order or even bring water. My husband was really upset and we walked out. Not recommended. Terrible experience.

It's a little pricey, but the sushi is absolutely worth it! Especially the Miami heat roll. My boyfriend and I have tried many different rolls and always end up leaving saying "we should've got two Miami heat rolls." However, the appetizers are very overpriced especially for the portions.

The decoration is nice but that's about it... It is really loud, over priced, and the food was horrible. The sushi was priced like quality sushi but was very bland and did not taste fresh. The hibachi was dripping in oil and that was all you could taste. The server did not refill my water the entire meal...

The atmosphere is very nice but you wait a long time for your food and service was not friendly. The food is mediocre I wouldn't try this place again. Very overpriced

Ruuunnn!

  • Anina M.

Cheaper and better food!

overpriced sushi, not great quality, for the price it needs to be a lot better, loud strange music videos playing all around
