Healthy Meal suggestions for Outback Steakhouse

I have never had a bad experience with outback. Their steaks and meals are pretty consistent. Their customer service is stunning. If you do by chance get something that isn't to your liking they take it back and give you the option to order something new. The prime rib is always delicious and perfectly cooked.

It's outback... Food is reasonably priced and decent for a chain. The 6 oz outback special comes with 2 sides and the price can't be beat. You can enjoy a reasonable dinner for less than some fast food joint. Outback also sells filets and porterhouse cuts for substantially more $. I've tried them all and the price difference just isn't worth it. I'll stick with other steakhouses for the premium cuts.

Outback is a good restaurant for a family outing. I recommend ordering the Maple Mustard Glazed Pork Chops, Bloomin Onions, and the Alice Springs Chicken Quesadilla.

Good selection of things to eat. However, I ordered a sirloin and it wasn't cooked to the right temperature. My daughter's steak was overcooked and hard to eat.

I'm going to agree with the majority of the other comments. The food is good although at times borders on being a bit salty. The service is good and the prices are reasonable. I don't think I ever had a bad meal here, I choose Outback over the other chain restaurants any day.

Eat at the bar area for self seating or even sit outside with fans to avoid the wait. Best steak for the money in a chain resturant.

Whenever I go to a restaurant and look at the menu I am not automatically drawn to the steak. My taste for steak has been a recent revelation and I only like it in moderation or masked in dishes like tacos. So, with all that said, I have never been to Outback Steakhouse. Being my first experience, I was surprised to learn that they have just recently started opening for lunch on the weekends, which I thought was weird for a chain restaurant. So since I went for lunch and this is a new offering, it wasn't very packed. Our server was pretty standard, but he did his best to be tentative. The manager came out to greet us, so I appreciate the fact that they were trying to provide quality service. The decor didn't reflect that though, the restaurant had more of a diner feel. They start you off with wheat bread. It's pretty similar to the one served at Cheesecake Factory. Although it was pretty good, Cheesecake Factory is a lot better to me. But I liked that it was served on a board better than the typical bread basket. As I said, I'm not into steaks so I went with the Bacon Cheese Burger. I didn't like it. It was overcooked and the bun was a little dry. The bacon was nice and crispy; I could eat that alone all day. The fries were alright. My boyfriend got the Outback Special (6 oz) Steak with a loaded baked potato. He liked his food especially for the price and thought the steak was really good. It was overall a pretty good first experience but since I'm not a steak person, without someone else wanting to go, I probably won't, but I'm assuming if want pretty good steak at a great price, this is a good place to come.

Awful! We sat in the bar and we had the most annoying foul language guys sitting across from us. The worst part was the 2 bartenders girls joining in with them. Thankfully no children were around. Will NEVER come here, much less recommend it.

Would not recommend. Went for Father's Day. The ny strip came out raw though I ordered medium Sent it back Was strange but they recooked or I should say rewarmed it . Manger apologized and asked me to cut on the middle and it looked ok. But as I got near the bone it was still raw The second manager then had the gall to insinuate with gestures that I did not know what cooking terms meant. Raw is raw. I have eaten at the finest steakhouses in the world numerous in the world. I am very familiar with terms and temps and how to cook a steak. Hint. Their grill was too hot to cook bone in. Other than that the service was excellent

love love love this place! It's is my go to when ever I'm carving steak (which is often). The prices are affordable and the food and always cooked the way YOU like it. I order the 9oz Outback Special medium rare and they are one of the few restaurants that actually know what that is. The bathrooms and over all restaurant is very clean, dim lighting and call ahead seating. They just opened for lunch now only Saturday and Sundays starting at 11am it's awesome!

I like this place. I think the have reasonable prices and good steaks. I very much enjoy the blue cheese staleak salad. The reason for the 3 star rating is that they have decided to give you smaller portions. We went to enjoy a small salad and bake potato soup. When we recieved our salads, they were half the size they used to be. Tiny!! Our waiter was kind enough to be a bit more generous but really? It's lettuce! About 20 minutes after ordering, they informed us they were out of soup. :( We changed our order to a couple of appetizers and was extremely pleased with the seared tuna. Delish! All in all it is a good place to dine but I recommend eating at the bar because there is always quite a wait.

My husband and I ate there last night and the food was on point! Pace was great and our server Sergio did a great job. We felt like we were his first priority. I ordered the new flat iron steak and the steakhouse Mac and cheese and let me tell you it was OUT OF THIS WORLD!! The manager even stopped by. By the end of our meal we felt like we were part of the outback family. We will definitely be back!

Service was incredible, John made sure we were taken care of, extremely professional and on point with refills and food was brought out in record time. Environment was excellent. Love the fact that though this is a steak house, there are no ketchup, or A1 bottles on the table. When you ask, it's brought out in a small ramican. Decor is great, casual, modern and fun. Food was unbelievably excellent. Perfectly seasoned. And fresh produce. From the broccoli to the strawberry on top of the desert. Phenomenal service, excellent work.

Not impressed with the curbside service at all. Staff was nice and attentive but portion sizes compared to when dining in were horrible. Soup container 1/4 full, toppings for "dressed potato" almost non existent! Steak juices all over bag breaking bottom of bag. Not thrilled! Now to the food quality and taste.. Steak was not well done as ordered it was maybe medium rare! This is literally the worst experience ever with Outback! Definitely will not be a repeat customer.

The food is okay, not good enough for the price. I had good service and that's about it.

I have celiac disease, so I ordered the gluten-free hamburger. The waiter said "oh, no bun?" I said, "Um, yes. Plus everything that needs to be done to it to make it gluten-free - like not cooking it on the same surface as things with gluten." I asked to substitute a sweet potato for the unsafe fries, and he didn't know if that was gluten-free. Well. It's a sweet potato. Not a wheat potato. And it's on the gluten-free menu. So. Eventually (really slow waiter!) he brought me a bloody-rare burger (I'd ordered it medium) with no toppings. Because he thought tomatoes had gluten? I don't know. I give up. I ate the burger. It wasn't even a good burger. This Outback needs to train its employees.

Prompt service, great prices and location. I love that it's right off of griffin because it's always a quick drive to get there since it's off the expressway. I had the 20 oz Porter House steak, well worth it trust me. Truly awesome!

Normal Outback, servers are young so they are hit/miss. This particular Outback is normally packed, so be prepared for a bit of a wait. Parking is also very limited here.

This Outback is independently owned and maybe because it is in Southwest Ranches or maybe it is because it is near Dykes Rd. (originally cattle country), but they have excellent quality steak that is done right every time! We stick to what they do best. Last night I got the ribeye as usual and was so satisfied I saved half to go. It was thick juicy and cooked just right. Their medium rare is too red for most as they explain so I go with medium. The vegies were plentiful and steamed nice and hot. The mashed potatoes are so carb awesome and worth every bite of it. Everything went well with the cold draft beer. if you are willing to take a drive and wait for a while you will not be dissapointed at this Outback!

I have not been to an Outback Steak House in ages!! Man!!! I have been missing out!!! Yum!!! We went to celebrate my cousin Manny's birthday there on a Wednesday night with the family and we were a party of 14. The waiter was a little frazzled with us being such a large party for him to handle on his own, but he managed. One of the orders was brought out incorrectly and our waiter quickly went and had it corrected, our glasses were never really empty. He stayed on top of it for the most part. The food...the food was great!!! I was so surprised how good my filet mignon was. I ordered the 6oz. filet with crumpled blue cheese on top (highly recommend), with mash potatoes, and steamed broccoli...sooo yummy!!! What can I say about the bloomin onion...I love the blommin onion!!! Lets just say I will not be waiting ages to visit Outback again! -Melissa Marie

Well, unfortunately, my husband and I stopped going here because of disastrous meals. After about a year, we gave it another try....unfortunatley, the same results! They ARE working hard to change things around, and I absolutely can NOT complain about the service and Management....but wow...Three times for a MedRare Strip???? Again, the service was excellent, and Management was on top of the 'Service"...but nobody was on top of the grill!! Well done (ordered med rare), went to RAW, as in BLUE...seriously. Though it kills me to take this close dinner place off our list, I am afraid I must. 8 strikes and you're OUT!

Consistent, great service and dependable food. I always know if I order the steak, I am going to be happy. My daughter and I wanted a ribeye steak last night and we shared it, and loved it. We ordered an extra salad and a side dish and it was great. I love the bread, but skipped it last night for dieting reasons. You can get a sweet potatoe that makes me happy, toppings or not, and steamed veggies. So goooooood!! This dinner was awesome, good idea.

I haven't been to an Outback in quite some time and now I remember why. I ordered the ribeye and it was skinny, lacked taste and was a bit rubbery. I was there with my mother and she had a NY Strip and got sick later that evening Not full on food poisoning, but she felt awful. Honestly, I would not call what I was given a ribeye....it was awful and unappetizing. Chilis has a better steak than Outback "SteakHouse" for sure...to the point you should be embarrassed. I would never eat here again or another Outback chain...I assume it's the quality of meat they order from lower end food suppliers and they cover up the lack of taste with their seasoning. Vomit.

Our family has been to this restaurant quite a bit. Needless to say, tonight maybe our last. Our appetizer was undercooked and so was my daughter's steak. Our side dishes we not what we ordered either.

We have enjoyed many meals at this restaurant. We used to frequent the one on Pine Island and Sunrise. Tonight our server was Michael B. and he was very cordial. We sat in a booth in the bar area as honestly I'm over dealing with kids now. Too many babies and toddlers are frequenting places I honestly never took our's to until they were bigger. Let that resonate for a moment, do you like a screaming baby right behind you really? My point exactly. We began with wonderful wine and beer. Warm bread with whipped butter, delish. My order was the 16oz Prime Rib, medium with a dressed baked potato and Caesar salad. Hubby ordered the Pork Tenderloin it came with garlic mashed potatoes and a house salad lovely with honey mustard. Salads are so good! We did not feel like appetizers tonight and I'm glad after all I had. :-)) Here comes our main courses! My prime rib, I test cut and I mean I had to push hard on that steak knife to get into that steak. Oh my! I flip it over and try again and got a piece off, eating bite. I was so disappointed it was like shoe leather and had no flavor. Hubby's Pork Tenderloin was juicy and succulent! So our server asks me what I would like to do? I said please just give me a Victoria's Filet medium. The Mgr, Eric brings my meal and waits for me to cut my steak and taste it. Perfect! Yes now it's melt in my mouth steak. Eric said he was going to the kitchen and let them know about my experience and be sure the rest of the prime rib roasts are ok. Eric also comes by a bit later and tells us he picked up our cocktails for us. We thanked him for his courtesy. Hubby decided to order the dessert trio to go. This consists of carrot cake, cheesecake and chocolate thunder from down under. Each are the individual size portions; perfect! The full size dessert is still available. All in all it was a nice evening with my husband and we will be back soon. At least until this new Outback is open by Nova University!!

For a few months already they've been falling off course and it's a real shame. This used to be my go-to steakhouse, it's right off I-75 and less than a minute off the main road but they seriously need to get their act together. We arrived Sunday afternoon around 1pm, half of the restaurant was closed off and waited roughly 10 mins for our group of 6 to be sat down. The waiter quickly asked us for our drink orders but since we used to go there all the time we placed our orders right away. 20 mins pass and they bring out the appetizer, once we finished the appetizer the waiter cleaned up the table... THAT was where everything started to go down hill. Roughly 30 plus mins after placing our orders he tells us that the steak my brother ordered wasn't available. (Something the kitchen should've let the whole staff know) My brother picks something else, a little pricier than he was willing to pay but the manager stopped by and gave us the appetizer on the house. Another 30-40 mins pass by and we still didn't have our food so I asked the waiter what the delay was, 10 mins later all the plates come out. My steak and my father's steak is well done rock hard unlike the Medium that we ordered, my mom's veggies uncooked, we complain. The waiter takes back our plates and after another 15-20 mins we finally get our meals. They take both my father's and mine off the check and the appetizer.... If it weren't for that this would've been one of my worst dining experiences. A steakhouse that doesn't cook steak properly?! Get out of town! Clearly the kitchen and management need better training, we spent over an hour and a half waiting for 4 plates. Missed our appointments that we had scheduled at 3pm at another establishment too (nephews first haircut)

One of my favorite spots. Our server was awesome. The survey came right away with that free hot bread and butter yummy. I had a 14 ounce New York strip with mac and cheese and some mixed vegetables. The New York Strip was a perfect medium rare and the mac and cheese one of my favorites mac and cheese sprinkled with parmesan cheese yummy you gotta have a little vegetables you have to have a vegetables lol and it was delicious as well. And one more thing I'll tall glasses Stella and I was good to go. One of my favorite local spots

I ordered the ribeye with broccoli and asparagus. The steak was fine but the asparagus was chewy. My wife ordered a burger and fries. The fries were cold and looked like they were made hours earlier. The burger wasn't as good as a McDonald's burger. Really disappointed in the food. I was really looking forward to a nice dinner but that's not happening now.

Came in today for dinner and was actually lucky enough to find a parking spot because this place never has parking because of its location. We waiting to be seated maybe 5 minutes we were seated and greeted by our waitress she took our drink order. We asked what the specials were and she said there were none, my hubby said they had some specials and she just pointed to our menu. I decided to look at my past emails and sure enough there was the email showing the specials started today for fathers day weekend so i showed her the email and she went ahead and took our order based on the information on my phone. We sat here maybe for 15 min and she never brought our bread so we had to politely ask for bread and she brought us some. I had the tortilla soup which is a bit spicy but delicious, I'm super sensitive to anything spicy but i ate it anyway. We are currently waiting on our food and its been 35 min since we ordered but in all fairness it was packed!! Our food was very good the only hiccup we had was they forgot my sons mac and cheese and i advised the waitress and she brought it out for us. We ate out food and had our desserts because our meals came with an app and dessert, the cool thing they did for fathers day weekend was they offered on the dessert the option of a fosters lager in a red solo party cup!! So for those dads that dont have a sweet tooth like my hubby he drank his dessert in the form of a beer and received the cup as a gift. We walked out with our belly full and our wallet happy.

Horrible service. Restaurant turned the AC off while we were eating dinner, because it was near closing time. None of our stakes came out at the requested temp, wound not come back to this location.

Highly disappointed in the food that we ordered. Curbside service was on time and very convenient, however the food was extremely disappointing. To start, my Portobello Filet was not even topped with a Portobello mushroom as advertised on the menu, it had a two tiny morsels of a mushroom on top of my steak. Horrible! My mother ordered the grilled salmon and t was so dry and way overcooked. The salads seemed small and had hardly anything in them. We will not be going back to Outback again, their quality of food and small portions are not worth it.

When I was a kid 90% of our dinners out happened at outback steakhouse so every once in a while I get a craving I can't kick and decide I am going to eat more calories than I do in an average week. I love when people remind me how often the blooming onion makes it on "the worst foods" list ... I don't care, this thing is delicious ... now shut up and join me because we are just getting started. I understand that nothing at outback (with the exception of the chococolate thunder) is the best thing you've ever had but this is a chain restuarant so reset your expectations. The outback steakhouse in Davie is my personal favorite, there is never a terrible wait and they always do a good job. I order the same thing every single time: an outback special - medium with a side of cheese fries and a caesar salad and yes i eat aproximately a whole loaf of that pumpernickle bread with whipped butter because goddamn. Now on to the chocolate thunder. If I was on my death bed I'd ask for a chocolate thunder to finish up my last meal on earth. I understand that most places have some sort of brownie ice cream dessert but it's really hard to find one that is consistently this good. I would be so bold as to call this the best chain restaurant dessert of all time because in my opinion it is.

Parking is tight. Get there at non peak hours I liked their steaks, they are really good. Lunch prices are really good, dinner are a bit more but worth it. Service is good, but they get busy and their orders get messed up. Nevertheless, i go there for steak, and I love their steak.

Service is "okay." Food quality is normally where it needs to be and never had an issue if a problem did occur. In the bar area, they could invest a little bit in some equipment that is larger. Knowing the focus of the establishment is table service, still sometimes it can be a little difficult to see the smaller TVs when seated in the area near the bar.

I just went last night with my family. My husband ordered a steak, he liked it. I ordered the coconut shrimp and it was not good at all. The batter was thick and too salty. Also, we ordered the "famous" blooming onion, sorry but it was horrible...greasy, salty, and worst than fast food. This was my third time and last time at The Outback. Thankfully, we used gift cards...

First of all, the only reason why I'm giving this place 3 stars is because our server Bianca. She's very courteous and quick. I ordered a medium cooked Ribeye. When I got my order it was well done. Not only that, my brother ordered the same thing, but with French fries which was suppose to be well done. It tasted like we were given the scraps of soggy leftover fries and his ribeye was not as medium, but he was too hungry to care. The other orders came out fine. Bianca was fair and took our order back and I received a much better, cooked proper meal! So thank you for that.

Wait at this site can be very long and parking ninety percent of the time is a hassle. They have not served or offered walkabout soup (onion) in ages here. Big mistake.

The Baby Back Ribs were the best my husband ever had!!! The tilapia was delish with a light sauce and stuffed with crabmeat and mushrooms. Caesar salad crisp and tasty! 5 stars!!

Love this place! When ever we go here to eat the staff is always great and professional . My husband and I went last night to get our steak on and Eric was our server and he was excellent! Can't wait to go back and do their Happy Hour!

What is happening to Outbacks portions sizes? It seems as if their plates get smaller as their prices increase. I just found out they no longer make their own butter and salad dressings in house. They have hired a vendor to reduce cost and eliminate freshness. So disappointing!

Every now and then I have a taste for their awesome Bloomin Onion. Met some friends at this location as we have been here many times before. This location always has a wait because there are not many dining options in the area. The wait was long so we decided to sit outside, nice patio area. Our waitress retrieved our drink order and our bloomin onion. When it arrived I was disappointed because it was over cooked. Meh, too bad because when it is cooked properly it is the best. Oh well we ate it anyhow, just did not devour it like I usually would have. We were chillin with some good friends on a nice evening so we were in no big hurry. I ordered the Shrimp Cesar Salad, because I have never been a fan of their steaks. Mainly due to the seasoning they use. My salad was crisp and fresh and the shrimp were very good, no complaints. Everyone else ordered several different steaks and two of them were way overcooked. Cooked to a burnt crisp. Yuk, glad I did not order one. This was probably not the best meal we have had at this location but I am sure it was due to them being so slammed. Our waitress was very nice but took forever to get our drinks throughout our meal. At one point our drinks came out so late, one of my friends sent his beer back because we were getting ready to leave. Hopefully next visit will be better.

The service was great at this Outback Steakhouse. My waitress was very friendly and quick. My drinks were refilled and our request were fulfilled. My fiance's steak was cooked perfectly. My burger was also done medium as I requested. You must get the sweet potato fries. It's so delicious especially when they drizzled it with some honey. I've never had anything like that. Yum!!!

We've been coming to this Outback for years. Tonight everything was salty from the wings to the grilled salmon and prime rib. The salmon, salad and rib eye portions were very skimpy. One couple felt uncomfortable sending anything/everything back, so we didn't say anything. Service was good, however.
