La Granja Griffin Menu

I love La Granja for a few reasons, but most notably the sauce!! Their sauces are the stuff dreams are made of. I used to eat La Granja about once a week, until I decided that that much rice in one sitting wasn't sitting well with me. I know lots of people who can make a La Granja meal in to two meals, but not me...once I start with those delicious sauces I just can't make myself stop. My go to meal is the steak with rice and beans, I sub out the plantains for fried yuca...and then smoother the whole plate in the white/yellow sauce and the green sauce. I believe the white/yellow is supposed to be a mild garlic sauce, and the green has hints of lime and garlic. I skip the spicy red sauce, but that one is good too. If you're looking for cheap, then stick to the 1/4 chicken with rice and beans, plantains and a soda for ~$5. If you're looking for authentic Peruvian flavors (think Chinese food mixed with Spanish food) try one of their mixed seafood rices. The only reason I don't get that dish often is because adding sauce really isn't necessary and I really do have a sauce obsession here. Take-out is the way to go here, and the fact that they added servers (inefficient servers) if you choose to eat in annoys me.

I don't know..I just don't get it. I tried this restaurant in other locations and its self-serve fast food. So I have no idea why they decided to add servers in this location. I didn't get greeted when I walked in. All the servers in the restaurant were just sitting around and doing nothing. So I'd much prefer take out and order my food with the guy at the check register. Other than that, the food is pretty good. Only if they got more friendly service staff would make me want to visit this place more.

I've only been to this location twice but the food was excellent both times. I got the fried fish platter and will definitely be going back for more.

Pretty extensive menu (The waitress said Argentinian or Peruvian) which kind of reminds me of a Latin American version of a New England Diner. Lots on the menu, and all of it was TASTY! Fried fish was "Fish-n-Chips" style, Chicken, Rice, and Beans we're great. Nothing to complain about at all. Best part is they are open later than many of the other (non Fast Food) restaurants in the area.

They have terrible customer service. We had a female waitress who asked for my order by stating "What do you want" as she spoke to me from across the table. When my bf asked her if she was going to take our orders from across the table, she left and never came back. My bf went to complain to her manager and she was not truthful about people not giving her tips (we were in a party of 10, they gave her close to 30% tip each) and the manager did not reprimand her. I will not patronage this establish ever.

Great price for so much food! Got half chicken with black beans & rice, bananas (fried plantains), and drink for $9.45. Definitely 2 meals worth of food. The onion bar is so good, it has several kinds of pickled onions to enhance the meat or rice & beans. 3 sauces to choose from - white, kind of like a tangy mayonnaise; red, which is like the white but spicy; and the green, which is like the white but with cilantro. Friend got the 1/2 lb of grilled pork with rice & black beans, bananas and drink. $11.45. She said the pork was very flavorful. My chicken was a little dry but the flavor was good and once I mixed it with some onions and sauce it was just fine. The black beans were simple with not a lot of extra flavor. But again mixed them with some of the onions and sauce and they were really good. Plain white rice rounded it out. The sauces and the onions really tied it all together and added that wow factor. Yum! Went at about 2:30pm on a Tuesday. Serivce was cafeteria style: placed order and waited for number to be called. Fair amount of people in there but didn't wait long at all, maybe 5-7 min. Tables were being bussed and all were clean. Would definitely go back. Can't beat the price and the food was good.

Food and prices are great if you don't mind the POOR service. The worst of all is a heavy set Manager at the register. I'm surprise he is still working there. Again, good food and prices if you don't mind someone the worst attitude in the area.

I love getting deals, and a five dollar lunch that brings the protein is a great value for me. So, I headed over to La Granja to give their lunch deal a shot, and I am glad I did. I will be honest, I almost didn't go in. I arrived a few minutes before they opened, and no one was there. I thought I would do my usual swoop in and get out before the lunch crowd arrived, but alas, the crowd started arriving before they opened the doors. Next thing I knew, there were ten people practically pressing their noses against the glass. It kind of reminded me of the Walking Dead. I sat in my car for a moment to gather my thoughts. I squeezed my steering wheel and thought to myself, "Do I really want to go toe to toe with the lunch zombies? Can I do this today?" At that moment, someone opened the doors and they all filed inside. I could see through the glass that there was plenty of room, so I sat there for another couple minutes to give everyone a chance to order. Then I noticed more zombies showing up, so I stopped thinking and jumped out of my car and bolted for the door. I was taking no prisoners. I was going in, and I was going to get that five dollar lunch special, and I was going to get some sauce too. Oh yes, I was NOT going to let some lunch zombies steal my joy of a good deal. I got to the counter, and placed my order. I asked for the five dollar lunch special and the server knew exactly what I was asking for. He took my five dollars (and some change after tax) and handed me my receipt. Out of the corner of my eye, I spied the sauce station and made a break for it. By some miracle, no one was there. All of the zombies had found tables and were patiently waiting for their food. Well, some zombies were hovering near the cash register. I would not be deterred. I sampled the red sauce first. Wow, nice kick, but not today. I sampled the white sauce. Oh, garlicky-works for vampires, maybe zombies too? Hmmm...maybe? Then the green, Nope, reminds me of zombies too much, maybe next time. I filled a couple containers with the white sauce, and just as I was putting the lid on several lunch zombies began to hover near the sauce station. It was time for me to make a break back over to the counter area so I could retrieve my five dollar lunch special. Would I make it? As I approached the lunch counter, several zombies were lingering around. I was thinking that NOW would be a good time for them to call my number. Please call my number! Do it! Say it! "Number 9!" Please say the number! And then it happened. Number 9 was called and I swooped in and grabbed my five dollar lunch special and headed for the door. As I pulled away, I didn't notice any zombies in pursuit. I was safely on my way back to the cave, or well, office. When I made it to my desk, I opened my five dollar lunch special to find a nice piece of chicken. It was half a breast and a wing. "Wow," I thought. "White meat even?" Actually, I prefer the dark because it's juicier, but I was impressed that the deal came with white, which is normally more expensive. Plus, I had that sauce, and it worked great on the chicken. Also, I was able to get more protein in the white meat, so I was set. They had a huge cup of black beans and some white rice to eat with it. I may not enjoy lunch zombies, but I love getting great deals!

Pretty good food, even better if you go for the family meals with at least four or five people. Similar to Pollo Tropical but I would say that the steaks, chicken, and overall most of the food is better here than Pollo Topical.. THE MUST GET FOR SURE ARE THE SAUCES! I LOVE THE CURRY MUSTARD (green yellowish sauce) and it is best sauce I have ever had...and some of the others are good too

As good as it gets for lunch FOOD. Emphasis on "Food" because everything else is certainly NOT 5 stars; decor, customer service, location etc. But for those of us who truly appreciate REAL fresh food at unbeatable prices... Def FIVE STARS... You MUST try it.

The food is good... But the location is a bit scary. I went by myself on a Tuesday around 8:30pm to grab some take out, and I was honestly freaked out and kept one eye on my car the entire time. Very shady. I wouldn't recommend going alone, at least not after dark. Grab a friend and treat them to Peruvian grilled chicken (like Pollo Tropical but better), an awesome onion bar, and some I-don't-know-what's-in-this-but-it-tastes-good sauces.

I Like their rotisserie chicken it's perfectly cooked every time i have it and perfectly portioned for what you pay for. i like that it's not too salty either. They are reasonable but not much of a selection besides chicken or steak or pork. They need more variety and more sides besides your typical rice and beans and plantains. Their rice is like crack it's so buttery cooked well done just how i like it. This location is OK, it can get crowded during peak times. Ample parking spaces and good location.

I have only had the rotisserie chicken and cerviche. Both are solid and worthy of 5 star. Inexpensive and super delicious.

This is not Mexican. They advertise as Peruvian. Con: Even though they are smack-dab in the middle of 954, whoever is behind the register is still givin' me that "whaddooo joo whan, gringo?" look. Steak here has been hit and miss. No cafe cubano. Salty. Pro: One of the pound-for-pound kings. Pork and chicken always solid. Close to The Rock. Garlic potatoes side. Tip: Eat here.

Not cuban or mexican its peruvian. The sauces are where its at. Moreover, the onion bar "essentially what it is" is very distinctive. Normally go for chicken filet, pork filet, steak filet, or the sopa ceviche. Its better than cuban. Its a working class restaurant so leave the tux at home. You will see a variety of people here due to how good the food is, portion size, and cost. Lunchtime is busiest.

1st and last time at this location. Unfriendly staff. The menu isn't the same. I couldn't get my fried rice. No bananas during lunch hour? I just did not enjoy my experience here and I won't be back :(

I enjoy the sauteed chicken with onions. Comes as either a lunch portion or a la carte and served with a side of rice and beans. Love the Inca Cola.
