Super friendly, super fast and delicious! It was my first time here and they made me feel like I'd been coming for years. The waitress knows all of her regulars orders as soon as they walk in. It might look a little shady on the outside but its got a great vibe. Definitely try it out!

I came here after being recommended by some coworkers who lived in the area. I was visiting from out of town on business. At first it was odd to see only one family already eating dinner and was about to wrap it up. Nothing but utter praise came from their comments to the friendly lady owner Kaya. They were out of towners such as myself. Seems like they would be here for awhile and told Kaya they'll be back next Monday and left with big smiles on their faces. Kaya mentioned that the lunch hours more jammed pack than dinner, especially the Monday evening I ate there. But that's ok because it gave me a little privacy. The ambiance and decor is quite dated but don't let that fool you. I had the scallop with red curry and a side order of Thai iced tea. The curry wasn't too spicy and if you wanted to spice it more, a handy spice rack was readily available. The dish tasted great. Kaya kept asking me if I wanted more rice but she piled on a full plate to begin with. I ended up taking home the leftover curry broth and not to mention some free additional rice from Kaya. The owner is however talkative but in a happy and friendly manner. Obviously she's really proud of her establishment and that's why I suppose many people stop by here for lunch. I was impressed and definitely I'll be back for more.

Today was lab day which brings me this direction. I had a co-worker tell me that A Thai Restaurant is good and to try their Pad Thai. I checked them on Yelp, and I saw the good reviews and that sealed the deal for me. I called in an order of Shrimp Pad Thad and Spring Rolls, and the food was waiting for me when I arrived! Big bonus points from Mrs. Impatient on that. The pad thai was the tastiest I have ever tried, but I am no means an expert. The only complaint I would give is the shrimp was over cooked, but that is likely because it was in the container covered. Meat off the stove/grill/oven continues to cook when covered, unless cooled first, and I think that is what happened here because the food was very hot when I opened the container. I agree with the other reviews that the owner is very nice. I would describe her as cute and she made me laugh, which I give more points for especially during work hours. I will definitely come back to try other things on the menu.

My first and best Thai food experience. I haven't found anything that even comes close in comparison. Family owned, very traditional, and delicious. It comes with an unlimited supply of rice too so thats great. Try the Po Tak soup! It's their version of a Tom Yum soup but a million times better.

BEST TOM KA GAI IN TOWN. I stumbled on this place on accident but they have the best tom ka gai in town. It always helps me when I have a cold. Great green curry and spring rolls. I also love their to go service quick and easy.

Don't want to give away my secrets but this is a hidden gem. Absolutely the best tasting thai food. We drive 20 minutes to come here. The prices are super reasonable.

After my husband Howard H. Finished watch the USC game, it was almost 8pm. So I picked this place we had never been and close to where we live. The restaurant was empty when we open the door, and horrible smelled ( like the place has been open for over 100 years or something ) We are too lazy to go somewhere else so we decided to give it a try. My husband want to order Thai IcedTea, our waitress told us " sorry we are out of Thai Iced tea! " and " sorry we are out of all beer too...." I've order the #20 or #21 Pan Flat noodle with beef and broccoli, I can't believe it was American broccoli but not Chinese broccoli! (They are right next by Foodtown Supermarket ) ! Beef was way over cooked and chewy, pan flat noodle was over cooked and broken too ! Our waitress didn't even come to check up with us after our food was serve !! We will never go back again , it should be 1/2 star !

This would be one of those "YMMV" (Your mileage may vary) review. The looks from the outside does not seemed impressive, but most people who came thought the food was decent. I don't mind hole in a wall restaurants as long as the food is good. However, it was not the case with us. We came around the dinner hour and the place was completely empty. Usually that's not a good sign in my experiences. I wanted to order a Thai ice tea, but the lady told me they ran out. Okay no problem let me order a beer. Then the lady told me they don't carry beers anymore. Uhm...okay but then why is it still on the menu? She told me if I still want a beer she can go next door to the supermarket to get me one. Geeze, I didn't know this is a BYOB kind of restaurant. We sat down and looked over the menu. Nothing special just the regular items you'd find in most typical Thai or Chinese restaurant. I like curry so I ordered a chicken curry. It was okay but I don't think its worth the $8.00. My wife ordered a rice noodle dish. I think it must be the left over noodles from the bottom of the package because all her noodles came broken. You just can't eat it with chopsticks. You need get a spoon to pick the noodles up. And the beef was salty, tough and chewy. I like to support local mom and pop shops but this place was just way too depressing. The only reason why I am giving it two stars is because at least the lady was friendly.

This place has delicious food. I've been coming here before becoming a yelp member. I like that you can bring your own wine. There is plenty of room to dine in but I see many prefer to take out. You can adjust the spice just tell the server. So far so good I haven't burned my tongue but I definitely used a lot of tissues. I'm sure you'll enjoy whatever you decide to choose from the menu.

Okay so my first time here was not a disappointment (mainly because of the lunch prices). I ordered the Tom Kha chicken soup and was good, spicy and flavorful. However, when i got my pad si ew, it looked like pad si ew, but tasted just like pad thai, but hey i like both so it didnt bother me (:

I just stumbled upon this place as it's in the same shopping center as my fav Pho! Having dinner here I ordered spring rolls & shrimp pad Thai .... That set me back $11.87 :) Affordable and tasty dinner that's what I'm talking about! Regular sized portions, I was starving so I ate it all but on a normal day I could maybe eat 2/3. When I walked in nobody was here accept the friendly owner & staff. I was a little scared but this place has great reviews on Yelp... Come to find out lots of take out orders. I ate here by myself the owner kept me company with great conversations... She has been here 18 years! And I was able to watch her interact with the regulars who were ordering yes, take out. I can see why it's a take out place it's quiet, dark and no alcohol..., pho place is noisy, crowded no alcohol but both have amazing food and customer service. I'd take down the curtains to let in light however I can see wanting to cover the view of the parking lot. Again take out, but if you eat here you won't be sorry. Do not miss this place! It's a local spot for sure!

Surprisingly so, a fabulous Thai restaurant in the foothills of Davie....looks can be deceiving so don't fret about the outside. My son Doug and his friend Eric took me here because it is near their recording studio....look for their music by Shine! Anyway, the owner was a delightful lady that greeted them warmly and knew precisely what they wanted to order. I tried the shrimp pad thai and it was delicious...my friend tried a spicy scallop dish that was also amazing. Fast service, plenty of rice, and warm atmosphere, I highly recommend trying this place....great for vegetarians too!

One of my all-time favorite places to eat if I want authentic Thai food! I have been going here since I was a little girl, so I might be a bit bias, but the owner is so wonderful and is extremely welcoming. Their Thai ice tea is the perfect amount of sweet and her seafood dishes (especially the Thai shrimp red curry) are delicious! If you're a fan of coconut milk, make sure you try it. Great place, great menu, great staff!

I've come to this place multiple times, always bringing new people. I love the curry and the pad thai. The server/owner is extremely nice and sweet and she definitely remembers her returning customers. One of my favorite places.

The worst customer service you will find. Made us sit for half an hour and didn't even offer a glass of water. There was an old lady who was apparently the only waitress working. She was the rudest waitress I have seen in my life. We called her five times to give the order. She completely ignored us. When she came in the end, I asked her about the food. She said that she doesn't have the time to explain the menu to us. Then She walked away. Later she came to us and when I asked her about taking it order, she snatched the menu from us and said that if we don't want to order then don't bother because they are busy. The worst customer service I have experienced in my life!!! Avoid at all costs!!!!!

Place lost in a tiny mall, wrong address in the GPS, located next to Foodtown. Came on a Saturday night at 8:45pm and they were closing already because of the lack of customers. We tried to get in anyway, they declined us as well as another customer. I guess they will go out of business soon with such practices.

Crazy owners. Had bad publicity for infestation. Wings were okay but not great enough to return after I read that the county had given them citation.

Awesome little hole in the wall, with a homey feel. You'll come back because you'll like the owner so much. Although I only eat here once every 3 months or so she never forgets what I want and I feel like she's part of the family. All of the dishes are great, with special mention to the Stir Fry Noodles. Haven't seen them on any other Thai menus, and with broccoli added they are amazing! I always get a side salad to start (I'm addicted to peanut dressing) and then usually stick to the Pad Siew or the Red Curry with chicken, but I can't think of a dish that I've ordered that I didn't like. Prices are cheap, and portions are big enough to have leftovers. This is my favorite Thai place in the area. PRO TIP - it's BYOB. I often watch the tables around us (the regulars) stroll in with a bottle of wine.

Definitely not impressed here. I wish I would have taken a picture of the dish I ordered. I forget what it is called but it was two grilled kabobs with like 5 shrimp each, 4 pieces of zucchini each, and like two tiny pieces of pineapple each. Smothered in what the waitress called a BBQ sauce. It came with a plate of white rice and 1/4 cup of shredded cabbage/carrots. My boyfriend ordered the Shrimp Curry which was pretty good; I ended up eating some of his meal because I didn't like mine. For $10.95 per dish I was expecting a lot more. This is my first visit here but my boyfriend seems to like the place as he's been there several times. I might give it another whirl at some point... maybe I just ordered the wrong dish. Overall, I've been to Thai places that were a lot better.

The best Thai restaurant in Fort Lauderdale! I've been coming here for 10 years and anytime I go to another Thairestaurant I'm just disappointed. They have the most incredible pad Thai & and the owner is a wonderful charming lady who just can't do enough for you to make your dining experience better. All their food is top notch authentic and delicious. I would give them six stars if they would allow me to.

  • Mendy C.

A Thai is an authentic Thai restaurant. The food here is home style not like other Thai restaurants. The server (as other reviews mentioned I guess she is the owner) is very nice and funny. I usually don't drink Thai iced tea because I think that is very sweet, but I like the Thai iced tea here. The food tastes good and the price is cheap, will definitely come back again.

The Best !!! I come here for 13 years and have had Thaifood every where Nothing comes close ! Family owned and exquisite food . Very simple setting and not the fanciest area -but the taste will convince you to come back Try the pad Thai - Amazing Love it :)))

Our new favorite Thai restaurant!!!!! My hands down favorite is the panang curry. Great with chicken, beef, and pork! Will have to try the shrimp ;) Hubby likes red curry and anything with lots of veggies. Shrimp wonton things have great flavor, as does the Tom Kha soup. There is only one thing not worth ordering, and they are these sweet fried noodley things. They are like frankenberries on crack. The dishes come mild and you can ask for a "spice caddy" and you get awesomeness...ground peanuts (not hot), gunpowder (a VERY VERY spicy powder), these tiny peppers that are super hot in fish sauce, and a red chili paste. Go with a dash of the powder! If you go on a weekend night, do not be in a hurry...whether there is 1 or 10 full tables, there is only 1 waitress....the owner! She is awesome! And the prices - lunches at 6 bucks and dinner under 10, appetizers at 3-5 can't be beat!

I took my partner and his mother to this place on Saturday February 22, 2014. The place was completely empty. That should have been my first clue. They were "out of beer". I drank an iced Thai tea which was interesting. We were not offered (even at an additional cost) refills. I ordered the panang shrimp. It was room temperature, not spicy and a small portion. The rice was brought out on our plates before the bowls of our entrees were served (also small portions). I was really hungry before we had gotten there. It's been quite sometime since I've written a derogatory critique about a restaurant. My entree was $10.95. I was very hungry so I ate everything. (Wasn't much to eat). I will definitely not go back.. I'm not sure, but I don't think I've had such a lame meal at a Thai restaurant. I would definitely pay more for a better place.

LOVE this place. I have been coming here since I was a kid and have never been disappointed. The food is great, the service is awesome. I moved out of Florida 4 years ago and still try to make it here every time I visit!

Absolutely THE best Thai food in the World (except maybe that you'd get in Thailand.) We get take out from here at least once a week. I've lived in the area for over 20 years and just recently discovered this place. I hope it doesn't take you that long! I usually stick to my favorite dish: Chicken Curry. It's delicious filled with chicken, zucchini, carrots, bamboo, and yummy basil in a fab curry coconut milk sauce. My boyfriend gets the pad Thai sometimes which is also truly legit. This is a not to be missed spot in Davie!

I have been coming to this gem in the town of Davie for years. A Thai is owned and operated by a thai family so you know it is legit. The restaurant itself is tiny, no more than 15 tables and the interior is a little tacky, but extremely clean. Upon walking in you are greeted as if you are family. "HELLO SWEETIE" is the first thing you hear from the thai auntie you never had. I have tried many things on their menu and have yet to be dissatisfied. The quintessential dishes: pad thai, fried rice and various curries are all amazing. That being said, EVERYTHING on the menu is authentic and delicious and I recommend breaking out of that pad thai shell and to try something new. The fried shrimp with sweet and spicy sauce is probably my favorite appetizer there along with the tom yum soup. If you are feeling brave and like heat, order it "thai spicy". You'll earn A Thai street cred along with some respect from auntie. Some reviewers said service can be on the slow side. Well, what do you expect with one chef and one person who hosts, serves and cleans? Everything to come out within 10 minutes? Get real! Considering all that, I feel the service is timely. Add that to the great value and delicious recipes at satisfying portions, you've got one of the best thai restaurants in south florida.

Without question the worst Thai food I have ever tasted. Yes, the owner is sweet, but not her food. Want something to drink? Forget it. No license. What kind of restaurant doesn't even sell beer or wine??!! Theres a lot of good Thai places. Don't waste your time or money here

Very cozy little Thai joint. The hostess/waitress knew everyone and she was great. Very helpful, sweet, and efficient. The food was authentic. Very good duck curry. And the tom yum was very tasty. If I lived here, I would be a regular too.

A great local place with local owners who have been doing this for 18 years. The service was personable, the food was fantastic, and there was nothing to complain about. Definitely will be repeating there many times in the future.

This place is great! The one waitress, is one of the owners, but she's SUPER Sweet, and loves to chat and calls Everyone "Honey". So it's like having your own mama at the restaurant! :) Lunchtime, she's pretty good at hussling around, so that you can be in and out in an Hour... Dinner is pretty laid back, so be patient, but the food is always fresh. She has great recommendations, if you have never had thai food or are just not sure what you are craving, she's wonderful. (She's super sweet, and i can't recall her name right now...) At lunchtime - you always get a cup of chicken and rice soup. But the best app is the Wrapped Shrimp. It's these wonton like pork and shrimp fried triangles. with the sweet chili sauce for dipping. The shrimp-sour-and sweet soup Tom Yum gai is good too. The dishes are all good. we usually get: Pad Thai (You can get Tofu, shrimp, or chicken... the only silly thing is - you can't have tofu and shrimp or chicken... no combo's of meat... they just "Don't do that". and it's possibly to not contaminate the pans that cook the vegetarian dishes... but still... ) the Curries are all good, and Pepper steak are good too. CC's are accepted only over 10 dollars. so bring cash if you are having lunch. lunch is usually less than that.

This is a small family run Thai place on Stirling road. It's a great little place with very good Thai food. The decor is very simple maybe a it outdated but very comfortable and as others said the hostess is super sweet. Lunch menu is very good at a reasonable price. Give it a try you won't be disappointed.

Being a fan of noodles, I love the noodle dishes. The pricing is reasonable for the amount of food. Takes a bit to prepare but the food is tasty.

Great food, reasonable prices, and decent, albeit somewhat slow service. Recommend, but don't be in a hurry.

  • Kameelah R.

You don't want to go here in a hurry but you definitely want to go. The food is here awesome. Its a little small so you should call if you are a party of 5 or more. There is only one server and she is one of the owners. So like I said don't be in a hurry. We started with the Wrapped Shrimp and some crispy noodles. The noodles weren't my favorite but my friend loved them. The shrimp were good and the chili dipping sauce was tasty. We ordered Pad Thai, Coconut Chicken Curry, and one other dish. The food was incredible. Everything was full of spice and flavor, and if you want things a little spicier you can ask for the Spice Caddy. Over all i really liked this place and if I weren't so hungry and the food didn't come out so slow i would probably give this place all 5 stars.
