Great place for a breakfast power meeting or just to catch up with a friend. Coffee is fresh and my cup was never empty. I had the eggs Florentine and it was loaded with veggies, just the way I like it. The poached eggs were perfect too. Yummy!

It's a typical breakfast diner with a couple twists. There are some Greek items on the menu and they also specialize in corned beef. Food is not bad and the service was pretty fast (there was only 1 other party dining at the time). Nothing to write home about, but not a bad choice for a cheap, fast pancake/sausage/bacon/egg/hash brown breakfast.

Some very good corned beef dishes, we tried the Rodie's Benedict a twist on the classic Eggs Benedict substituting the Canadian bacon for delicious CORNED BEEF! Give this place a try, it's a nice shift from the normal chain restaurant, they have a lot of Greek inspired takes on American breakfast classics as well, hope to come back to try a slice of quiche or some gyros.

Sitting down at Rodie's felt like deja vu. When you walk in, there are three physical components to the restaurant that look exactly like another breakfast/brunch/lunch chain that I know of in the area. They've got the same payment counter to the right, same room with the french doors in the right hand corner, and the same view into the kitchen through the back wall. But that's where the similarities end. Rodie's has that mom n' pop diner feel to it, with a thick menu full of breakfast/lunch favorites and a few twists on the classics. I went for Rodie's Benedict, which is a split English muffin stacked with corned beef hash, two poached eggs, and hollandaise sauce generously poured, not drizzled, over the top. Next to that deliciousness they give you a heap of hashbrowns. This meal is not for the faint of stomach. I, not being part of that demographic, polished off the plate in no time. Getting a taste of the flavors combined was a salty and savory experience that hit the spot. I also enjoyed sprinkling some Cholula on top, which I'm glad they had on the table. Even with the Sunday crowd, our waitress still managed to be extremely attentive and friendly. Her performance alone was worth five stars. The girl who rang up my check at the end was friendly as well. I have to give her special mention because she was able to assist me and field flirtatious comments from an old man at the same time. I think he even asked her to take his wife at some point. I digress. The food is filling and flavorful, the customer service is top notch, and the price won't burn a hole in your wallet. This is the kind of restaurant my family just may have to make into a weekly tradition.

Great Location for Breakfast. We were immediately seated and our drink order taken. Meals arrived quickly, were hit and delicious

I called in my order for a pick up and the young woman said "it'll be 20 minutes"...30ish minutes later I came in to pick up the order and was told "Your order was lost in the kitchen and they couldn't find it". Then they asked me to pay and wait for them to make the order again...ABSOLUTELY HORRIFIC CUSTOMER SERVICE/MANAGEMENT and lack of appreciation for customers. I went a couple of doors down to PICO ROJO and had my order made in 10 minutes fresh and delicious in a great clean atmosphere.

This was a run of the mill breakfast place. The food was average and service was fast. Really nothing more to say about it.

I was looking for a breakfast place that was different with a lot of selection. I thought this was the place, but it was pretty so so. but surprise surprise I did end up liking my skillets. My husband always wants breakfast skillets. They do not have those and that great of breakfast in Florida, in my opinion. The skillets were pretty good here. The service seemed kind of crabby at first, but was fine after the fact. The clientele are older, and it is a sign that the snow birds are coming in. None the less, pretty good for what they have.

Yummy yummy breakfast! This is a diner. But a good one. Lets get the "bad" out of the way - finding it. The address is McMullen Booth, but its on the cross street. If you look for it on McMullen Booth, you're going to be driving around forever. There's a couple of shopping centers/office buildings and we ended up driving through all of them until we finally found it, and the only reason we found it was because we matched up a picture of the front to the facade of the nearby buildings. Okay, that's the only bad part. We walked in about 30 minutes before closing and were treated graciously and had excellent service - though, we did tell the server we would get a pancake at the end (so it would be warm when we ate it) and she did try to rush us to it. That said, in her defense, we were the last table and I would want us out of there, too. On to the food. I got a southern skillet, which was ham and potatoes and peppers (or was it onions...eh, who cares) eggs and cheese smothered in sausage gravy. I normally avoid sausage gravy for fear of the coma it will put me in for the rest of the day, but I threw caution and lactose intolerance to the wind (I actually don't even know if there is cream in the gravy, but lets ignore my gastrointestinal issues), and thank god I did, because it was delicious. Finally, as I've mentioned in in prior reviews, if you are going to include a food in your name, you better do that food right, and Rodie's pancakes are solid. Fluffy, buttery, and a wonderful end to the meal. We were only in this area by chance, so I don't know how often we'll make it back, but I will definitely make a return trip at some point in the future.

WOW! I am adding this to my list of best breakfast places in town. The food was all wonderful and the service was great. We were seated quickly and our waitress took very good care of us. I give it five stars.

We stopped by for a Saturday lunch. It is located near where we get Thai food, occasionally and it is a very clean and welcoming diner. Most patrons were ordering breakfast(which looked good) but we had our minds set on club sandwiches. The clubs come with coleslaw or potato salad and we both opted for the potato salad. We also ordered one side of fries. Sadly, this was not a very tasty club. Because they were so yellow and inedible, we had to pick the two layers of tomatoes out of the sandwiches. Once we took out the tomatoes out, our clubs shrank to almost nothing. The most troubling part was that the ham, turkey and bacon were completely flavorless. The potato salad was awful. My partner had one bite and left the rest. The highlight of the meal was our order of French fries. They were just ordinary but they were the best part of a bad meal. Since our waitress was extra busy, she never checked on us until we were done and she presented the bill. The waitresses were quite friendly but utterly overwhelmed by the lunchtime crowd. From what I could tell, everyone that we saw ordering breakfast seemed to be enjoying their meals. As I was paying for the meal, the hostess asked me how I liked my meal and I told her what I have just related. She was indeed apologetic. If we do ever decide to return, we'll be getting some eggs and pancakes.

Stopped in for lunch. The staff was friendly, service was good. Portions were adequate for pricing. Food was average as far as taste. Restaurant was clean. Nothing to get excited about but fair enough when you just want something to eat.

We were never greeted . The hostess was in her cell phone with people waiting to be seated and plenty of open tables. We left and went to Safety Harbor Grill where we were seated and felt like we were home . The waitress asked us if we wanted a coffee to go. Food is great and cheap. Rodies sorry you are off the list

Fantastic omlettes! My favorite is the Western, but I ask for cheddar instead of American cheese. The eggs are cooked perfectly, the ham, peppers and onions are evenly distributed, and there is just the right amount of cheese. The hash browns are pretty much what you'd expect, and are yummy. The service is always friendly and we rarely have to wait. Awesome little diner!

Just finding this restaurant was a feat! To save another group the same pain, it's in the BB&T plaza next to Beef O'Brady's. The menu was decent but not extraordinary. The coffee cups were small (as noted in a prior review) but the staff was great and our cups were never empty. Service was quick and friendly and the pancakes were good.

Rodie's consistently rocks our world. The only knock on the place is the ridiculously-tiny coffee cups. It's as if their clientele is composed of people with teeny-tiny mouths, hands, or appetites for coffee. I have none of those three. During our first visit there several months back, our server was good enough to tell us that many guests opt to bring their own normal-sized coffee mugs. I scoffed to myself (if that's possible), as I never wanted to be "that guy." I'm "that guy" now. Their coffee is pretty damn good, a requirement for a five-star rating for a breakfast joint from me. The service is always friendly and prompt, and the food never fails to impress. If you want to make healthy choices, the Healthy Choice is aptly named and surprisingly delicious (egg whites, english muffin, etc.). If you want to "cheat" a little bit, the crepes are delectable as is the French Toast. Their pancakes passed our son's not-very-rigorous standards. Rodie's has earned a spot in a pretty-darn-competitive regular breakfast joint market. If you get there early on a Saturday morning, you'll avoid a wait.

Hostess was nice and got us seated in a quick manner. Food came out really fast but bland. They don't butter you toast unless you ask? What is the deal with that? Waitress seemed either bored or kinda annoyed to be there. Checked once with a drive by and next thing I know I have a check in front of me. She seemed more Friendly with other tables then ours but then she also didn't know us by name. Place was pretty empty for a Saturday.

So so service. Food good but nothing special. Better nearby places for the same or less money.

Just had a very nice apple cranberry salad w/ grilled chicken. It was quite filling and enjoyed the sweet tea as well. First time there. Had lunch w/ church friends and will return again. Reasonable priced and very neat.

After a miserable first experience, I tried again. Mostly out of necessity... It was very early in the morning because I had to get some blood drawn for my doctor. I had to fast the night before, so I wanted to get some breakfast before work. I tried two other places first, but neither was open so I went to Rodie's out of convenience. I walked in and they had just opened so it was empty. A very grumpy older "gentleman" scowled at me and said, "sit anywhere you want." I think he was the owner. Gee...he really cares about his customers. What a way to be greeted at 7AM in the morning, right? My server came over and took my order and the food came out fairly quickly. My omelette, hash browns, and toast were ok. Not great, but ok. My server was also just ok. She was much better until an older, regular, couple came in and she got all chatty with them. My coffee suddenly and sadly was empty, and then I was ready to leave. I waited and waited, and then waited some more. She finally came over with the bill and she knew she had ignored me because she kept apologizing. So...I put some money in the bill-holder thingy (what are these called, anyway), and I waited some more. She was actually sitting at the table with the older couple and chatting. Finally she noticed I was still there and she came over and said I needed to take my bill up to the register. I look over at the register, smirk, and reply, "There is nobody else here working the register." She gets a look of concern, walks around the corner of a small room, and then out pops some other woman to jump on the register. I suppose I had to guess that there was a mystery woman who would pop out of a hole in the ground to work the register. Bottomline: rude owner, average food, below average service, and overall not a good experience. I gave it a second chance, but there will not be a third.

In the past few months this has become one of my favorite breakfast places. I love Rodie's pancakes--they may be the best in town! Also love the breakfast skillets. The service is always good, and the food is excellent.

We have searched for months for a good breakfast place and this one has far exceeded our expectations. The staff is very friendly, efficient and quick. You do not feel rushed even on a busy Sunday morning. There was a line out the door this morning, yet they refilled our coffee at least seven times. (I think they use small cups) The grits are a bit watery but the side of fruit is very fresh and seasonal. They have a rewards card which is always nice especially for a free breakfast. Even though we don't have kids, we noticed a sign that kids eat free all day on Saturdays. We found that helpful so we make sure we do not go Saturdays. I highly recommend!

SOLID BREAKFAST JOINT Hit this place up due to a recommendation from a co worker, he said the breakfast was legit. And being that this guy is a traveler of the breakfast like myself I decided to check this place out. First off i want to commend this place for offering something alot of breakfast joints don't...... a no charge for making my Omelet with egg whites. Most places I've been to want to throw a buck or two charge for such a request, not this place. Now on to the meal, since i was feeling like a healthy swagged out dude i got myself the vegetarian omelet that comes with ur standard peppers, onions, spinach, mushrooms, tomatoes, so on and so forth. But since I'm not a vegetarian and i need my protein i added some turkey. No problems No Problems............ food came out quick, coffee was refilled quickly, Omelet itself was perfectly done, all the veggies and turkey were up to par, it basically tasted fuckin awesome (didn't get hash browns so i can't comment) This might turn into a regular place for me, and as that happens this place might go from a 4 to a 5, but as of now a solid solid 4

Best breakfast in the Tampa Bay area. The food is perfectly prepared and the owners and staff are super nice. Try the skillets!

First time at Rodie's, definitely won't be the last. Great classic breakfast joint! I had the Southern skillet, Linds had the veggie omelet and Cam had a pancake with chocolate chips and bananas. Food quality was really good, the pancakes that came on the side with the omelet were outstanding. Service was courteous and efficient. Prices are reasonable and a good value. Highly recommend!

We've been meaning to try this place ever since it opened, but the exterior...strip shopping center...wasn't that inviting. I'm so glad we didn't let that keep us from going there! When we walked in we were greeted very warmly right away and the service was warm and friendly the whole time. The interior is cute and cheery. The coffee cups are pretty small, so we emptied them fairly quickly, but our server was on the ball and refilled them often. I suggested larger mugs and she said that some people bring in their own...but she said the frequent refills kept it nice and hot. Among the three of us we had a Western omelette, pancakes, hash browns, bacon, and eggs over medium. Everything was delicious. We will definitely return!
