I have never had a disappointing meal here...But truthfully, I haven't strayed far from the Shrimp and Grits...The absolute hands down best I have ever had in my life...If I were waiting to be sent to "Old Sparky" this would be my last meal! Nancy has turned a rundown shack in a run down part of town into a foodie mecca! Amazing food, I can never finish the portions (I'm a big girl who loves to eat) live music, beer, wine, and laid back atmosphere...Patio dining, Open bar dining and inside A/C dining.

I used to be a business traveler. As in 100K+ miles a year. So I've eaten in some restaurants. Just to give you some perspective for when I say the shrimp and grits here was among the BEST dishes I've eaten in the WORLD. I was tempted to lick the plate. My friend had the shrimp/peppers/artichoke hearts, which I thought OK but she enjoyed. I thought her sauce was kind of akin to cream of chicken soup. 1/2 dozen perfect oysters kicked us off. The taste of Florida and ice cold. Beignets were a tasty closer. Worth the drive over from the beach for sure. Do NOT miss this place.

Fantastic seafood! The Shrimp & Scallop Carbonara was amazing. The beignets were ok; they were free.

Probably the biggest surprise of my culinary quest this year. Driving up to the place at night -a bit nervous, but no need to be. Inside- clean & functional, wait staff friendly and attentive. Simple menus with many choices. Went with the waiters recommendation of cheese shrimp grits, absolutely out of this world! The sauces blended with spices & cheese was undescribable good. If you're looking for great value and excellent food with unpretentious surroundings, this is the place got to go!

The buffalo shrimp appetizer was simply amazing!! I had the Nauti-steak sandwich. It was delicious. Well prepared & fresh! My sweet potatoes were a little overdone, but nothing I couldn't handle. The complimentary beignets were a nice surprise, but a little doughy. Nothing like the French Quarter! ;) Overall, a great experience!!

This is a great local spot. They have live music on the patio nightly, and its a nice laid back atmosphere. My husband and I always order the specials are have never been disappointed.

Fanfrickintastic! Very casual atmosphere and great food! Ordered 2 orders of steamers in white wine, grouper dinner, Alfredo with blackened shrimp and many more dishes. Everyone of all ages from 2-47 loved their meal. We will be back the next time I'm in town!!! Don't be scared when you drive up, my 5 year old nephew actually said, "you've got to be kidding me, that's not a restaurant, that's a house!". The food will not disappoint. Especially, when you can get two teenage girls to agree & want to come back, you've know you found a great restaurant.

UPDATE: (2 days later) Well, you know what they say... Nothing is ever quite as good the 2nd time around, although it did come pretty close. I got the Shrimp and Grits again & it was just as delicious. Two people got the Fried Shrimp again & said it was just as good. Same goes for the burger. My son who got the 4/4/4 the first time decided to get the Shrimp and artichoke hearts and said it was "pretty good." Blackened Shrimp was still perfection. AND NOW FOR THE NOT SO GOOD... We had a different server this time who wasn't quite as friendly and when my husband ordered the 1/2 pound shrimp app she talked him into getting one with a different sauce and convinced him it was just as good as the first one he had. It wasn't. It was some kind of white wine sauce or something & he didn't like it as much. He also got a lot less shrimp this time, even though she said it would be the same amount. If what he got the first time was a 1/2 lb. then this was a 1/4 lb. Either that or our first server threw in some extra. A WORD TO THE WISE: DO NOT DRINK the sauce from this dish! It is strictly there to flavor the shrimp. My husband made this mistake & his ankles were swollen for the next 30 hours or so. Loads of sodium. And for the free beignets... Yowza. They were definitely overdue for an oil change. But, can't really complain about free food. I'm from New Orleans & they're not what you would get at Cafe Du Monde, but they ARE free. So keep your expectations low. We ended up getting some delicious ice cream near our resort later. We ate here on a Friday night around 7:30 & they were not too busy. They did have live music but by the sound of it, singing wasn't her best talent. There were a lot more people eating outside. We sat inside. ANOTHER WORD TO THE WISE: If you plan to get the Shrimp and Grits or Blackened Shrimp you WILL need a toothpick or floss. They probably have some but we had to rush out the first time for our dolphin tour. Luckily Crabby Bills had some toothpicks I was able to snag. At the end of the day, we would absolutely eat here again as well as recommend it to our friends.

Don't dress up. Don't really worry about a thing. Just come here for shrimp and grits. For real shrimp and grits. Wanted to order a second plate it was so good. Bacon, tomatoes and huge flavor. The place is a casual neighborhood spot. No tourists (well we were there but that doesn't count). It was recommended by a local and we agree it's very authentic right down to the complimentary beignets for dessert. Yay!

Oh my my. What a find in the Clearwater back yard. The food is really good. Shrimp and grits was heaven in a bowl. Beef martini sandwich so rich my son could not defeat it. Chicken and sun dried tomatoes was great. Decent Cuban. Good wings and outstanding fish spread -- really, really good. The free beniets pushed all six of us into true food comas. It was awesome! Ps not a good place to come on a diet. :)

Always enjoy stopping by on a Sunday afternoon, the Tangent Duo are there from 12 - 3 and these ladies are fantabulous! The food is good and portions are generous, servers understand customer experience. A must visit when you're in Clearwater!

I was expecting a more seafood driven menu but after reviewing my options I have to say it is well balanced and has something for everyone, the atmosphere was happy and homelike and the food reminds me of home cookin'.

This review is based on food, service, cleanliness, and general atmosphere. The food is great! We started off with soup, then I had a burger, and finished off with some complimentary donut holes covered in powdered sugar. The burger was absolutely amazing. It was juicy, and bursting with flavor. If this review was on food alone, I would be giving it 5 stars. We started out in the back, but it was just too hot, and too much cigarette smoke. We moved inside, but it wasn't much cooler. We almost left because of the temperature inside. I was literally sweating in my food. The service outside wasn't very good, but when we moved inside the gentleman was very friendly and helpful. Super glad we moved inside, I just wish they had air conditioning. The building appears old, and is in desperate need for an update. I think they do a pretty decent job of keeping it clean, but I'm a fan of "out with the old and in with the new". Just my personal opinion. I have mixed feelings about the overall atmosphere. It's located in a not so nice area. The heat was really wearing me down. If I could give it a 3.5 star rating, I would. Overall, I recommend going for the food, checking it out, and sharing your own experience.

Great place. The beef martini sandwich is delicious. Kinda like a marsala steak on bread. Great staff.

I can't wait to go back! I've been thinking about this place since we ate here it's wonderful! This is by far the GREATEST hamburger I've ever had in my life, and it's hard to beat a 5 guys burger and shake shack burger! Seriously wonderful. mmmmm burgers!!! and the WINGS... omg the wings! so tasty! nom nom nom! Super dive place, so cute and definitely off the main path but it's awesome! Brandon and I both really enjoyed our meals and of course who doesn't like free dessert! Everything about this place was wonderful! We will be back for sure!

. Had the jumbalaya and fish spread. Highly recommended for the food. However, Didnt have good service. Broken highchair for my daughter. Prices are reasonable. Free desert was great!

Texans here visiting Clearwater and saw on Yelp how great this place looked.. We rented bicycles for the day and though it was a 4 mile bike ride from our hotel, we thought we might as well bike here for how good the food looks! Well, got here at 6:30 on a Sunday evening and the place was CLOSED! Why! After going over that bridge and sweating bullets to get to this place, we learn from a note on the door that they close at 4pm on Sunday's!!! So sad!!!! But I'll still give it 4 stars for the looks of the pictures.... :) wish we could've eaten here darnit!

Amazing amazing amazing! After finding multiple 4-5 star spots from yelp and leaving them all for different reasons this one ROCKS! The shrimp po-boy is huge and everything you could dream of. Service is fast and friendly. This is my new favorite spot!

I really love this place... the food was really good... I had a deep biggest 2 pound of Beef burger. I could not wrap my mouth on this... We came here on Thursday evening when we are both Groupies of Ron and Classics... we are Followers of them so whenever they play we go.. Even if the place is not too hot...we go... but we had to try Nauti Nancy's from others who say that this place is the bong... its like an old beach bar not on the beach... on a diplated old neighborhood. I was quite concerned about my new car there... the neighborhood is quite run down, flap drop houses but in the middle of the trail off of Fort Harrison and Eldridge Streets... a brightly colored yellowish building.. two guys one who sounds like he grew up down under with a funny Ocala accent.. his name is Jared, but not the kind of guy who sells diamonds in the fields.. but overrun on fixing

Surprisingly good in a surprising residential location. Looks more like a casual beach fish house with big patio area with outdoor bar, as well as indoor air-conditioned tables. Fairly busy on a Friday early evening. The smoked fish dip was the best presentation i have seen, with generous servings of crackers, lettuce, chopped tomato & onion, jalapenos and pickled banana peppers. I had the excellent fried shrimp dinner with a fine portion of crisp fries/chips and slaw. My wife really enjoyed the beef martini sandwich but had to bring half home. Our friends shared the Nantucket Bucket and were not very impressed with freshness of clams and corn. Nice closing touch was beignets smothered in powdered sugar.

I have a philosophy about restaurants that are off the beaten path. The only way that they exist is by word of mouth, and if people are talking then it must be good. A true hidden gem! "Knot" far from the Clearwater marina this place offers cold beer, and amazing southern favorites such as shrimp and grits, and fresh seafood. Be casual, dress casual, eat casual and say hello to Nancy while listening to some great live music.

This place was a miss for me. I was in Tampa and really wanted a nice local place one of my last nights in the area. I went by Yelp reviews and thought that this would be the perfect place. We drove up to this place and almost turned around as it is in a run down part of town and one of the only non-residential buildings. It is a small place inside and we were graciously greeted but the tables were pretty close together and I had to get up when the people next to me wanted to leave. The menu looked good, featuring a lot of seafood dishes and I was looking forward to some good home cooking. I ordered a seafood pasta and my friend got the famous beef martini sandwich. We both would rank our dishes about a 2. There was a rowdy crowd there on a Saturday night and live music in the back. It wasn't a place I'd go for a quiet dinner and certainly not a date place. This is more of a let's drink until we get kicked out kind of place. Overall, if you are looking for local food, I would keep looking.

Hungry for lunch we were looking for a local "hole in the wall" Restaurant that served good seafood at a good price. Several people recommended Nauti-Nancy's. I had an Oyster Po-Boy with slaw and it was tasty. Good food, great service, reasonable price.

Worth the find! We've been coming to the Clearwater area for years, but never been here. It was worth the drive. It's a great local atmosphere; the true spirit of Clearwater. The fish dip was amazing - definitely plan to share it! The Nauti burger was cooked perfectly and tasty. The onion rings were delicious. The only miss was the Buffalo shrimp sandwich, but there are so many options on the menu, fear not!

Haven't been there, but read in one review that there's no A/C inside. Definitely a deal breaker. Not fair for us with pulmonary problems!

I have had several dishes and sandwiches here and never had one I didn't like. By and far the bed fish spread app anywhere around. Especially with all the sides that come with it (banana peppers, jalapeño, tomatoes, etc).

Local. No-frills. Dive. This unassuming "beach" bar is nestled on a side street in Clearwater. They've got a pretty good selection of seafood staples and some creative plates as well. We went for dinner, but I think it would be better for lunch. While they were still serving food when we got there, the focus was more so on drinks. We had the bang bang shrimp special and the 1/2 lb shrimp with fries. All very tasty, but we were left a little hungry! I think that's just the name of the game when it comes to seafood. If you're looking to impress a date, go elsewhere. But, if you want to hang out with some friends and enjoy some good food at a relaxed place where "everybody knows your name," this is the place for you.

The location is odd, not a great prt of town, but right next to the Pinellas Trail, so I get it. They have a large outside seating area and the staff was extremely nice and helpful. We ordered burgers which were very tasty- they grill them I a grill then put on flat top. After every meal they give you a plate of beignets. The macaroni is good- I had the chicken sandwich with sundries tomatoes and didn't like it, but the burgers and onion rings were good! I am pretty sure they have live music on the weekends. All in all it is a cool place to hang out!

Enjoyed this little dive that is hands down better than the more commercial places in town! The fish spread was awesome! Every one of my picky eaters loved their dish as well. The fried banettes after the meal was a welcome surprise. This place is popular with the locals so they don't charge the tourism rates. Great food and service and GREAT prices! You won't want to miss out on this place!!

Great hidden away restaurant. I had the shrimp and grits and they were great. Wish I had some garlic bread to sop up the sauce. Complementary beignets for dessert! The wait staff is laid back and friendly but attentive.

We ate there on Tuesday around 4. We were the only ones and waited awhile before my husband had to go to the kitchen to get someone. The staff was very friendly. My 4-4-4 pasta with clams, shrimp, and mussels(I substitute the mussels for more clams). It was delicious. My husband got the shrimp and grits. He doesn't like grits but he ate all of it. I highly recommend their seafood. My kids had hamburgers and chicken tenders. One of the boys like it but the other one didn't like it. MY 3 year old didn't eat any of the chicken tenders. It was tasteless. I would eat there again. It was a cute little place, I couldn't return with my whole family , afraid it wouldn't accommodate our big party of 40. Told them to go separately if they could.

Love this hole in the wall joint! I always get the 4/4/4 muscles, clams and shrimp in a garlic oil sauce over linguine . It is made just like I make it at home. The second time the clams were a little sandy but no fault of Nancy. The fried powdered doughnuts are a bonus for free .it is our go to place for affordable food, cold beer on shorts and a tee shirt!

We went for open mic night and we had a great time! The atmosphere was very friendly and comfortable and there were drinks abound! Definitively will return.

We came here on a Saturday night. We were greeted immediately when we walked in. We found our own seats. We asked for water because we didn't know what we wanted yet. They got the water from the faucet sink. It tasted gross. When it came to us ordering something from the menu we were both craving fish. Well... Unfortunately they ran outta fish. Which sucked! So I ended up with the shrimp & scallop pasta and my bf had the Nauti Nauti. The scallops were very small but the shrimp were ok. There was an overwhelming about of sauce for the pasta and I found it missing more noodles. My bf thoroughly enjoyed the Nauti Nauti especially the large portions that it entailed. The Nauti Nauti consisted of 2 grilled cheese sandwiches and in between there was a hamburger patty, sweet potatoes fries and regular potato wedgies. Fried pickles, fried onion rings and fried mushrooms. If u are on a diet do not choose this sandwich! lol it was like man vs food edition. Our dessert ended up being complimentary beignets which where not that great. Nothing like the beignets you get from New Orleans. Tasted like fried chewy dough tossed in powdered sugar. Entertainment consisted of a live band which was nice. Overall the hole in a wall place was ok! So my vote is 3 stars!

After the wife and went to multiple packed places (Rhumbas, PJ's, the like) that were all slammed, we decided to head to Nancy's. Never been, but we're secretly told about the place via a hostess at one of the previously mentioned establishments. Thank God. Not your 5 star chic place.....but if the best meal you've had in a very long time is what you are looking for.....nailed it. Decor and plating is like mom would have served. Plastic cups and Styrofoam glasses. But with Nancy's, as we were told, "picky ass attitude", the dinner is by far the best in the area. We are both Florida natives. And after seeing the "New England this and "Nantucket" that, we're kind of put off. But from the unbelievable fish spread to the entre's we were knocked out. My wife, on a diet, had a special meal made (by request) of scallops in a white wine sauce and I the special, shrimp and scallops with spinach in a basil, tomato sauce. Dear god my NOW favorite little secret in the area. Best restaurant meal in years. Enjoy.

If you are in a hurry this place is not for you. Thanks to Yelp we found this awesome, laid back, extremely casual place. I loved the shrimp and grits. My husband enjoyed a huge steak sandwich and a beer. One son loved his wings and the other picky son wanted chicken fingers. Even though they were not on the menu the waiter said no problem and my son gobbled up his chicken and fresh cut fries. Free beignets. Yum! The place looks like an old house. The outside bar was a garage. Great place to sit outside with a large group. Look forward to coming back.

This is a local restaurant just outside the touristy side of Clearwater Beach (just about 5-10 minutes away from Pier 60). Here are the food we ordered & my review of each one: Appetizers: Raw oysters (fresh but tiny) & Mussels in white wine and garlic sauce (delicious sauce; we asked for spoons to savor the sauce). Entrées: Nantucket Bucket (I believe this is what they're known for. This is very savory. Clams, shrimp, sausage, potatoes and corn were fresh and perfectly seasoned with celery and onions. Again, we spooned the sauce/broth). Argentinian Seafood Stew with Catfish over yellow rice with beans. It was served with 3 pcs of garlic bread, which I think do not go well with the dish because there's already plenty of rice. (Overall, it had great spice for those who like some heat). Beer battered shrimp with sweet potato fries (yummy shrimp. Batter was slightly sweet. Sweet potato fries had too much cinnamon). We wanted to order the Lobster Ravioli in Vodka Sauce, but was told they no longer sell that (I suggest taking it off the menu). We ended up ordering Shrimp Alfredo (didnt get to taste this. Hubby said it was just OK). FREE Dessert (Yes, every table gets this free dessert): Beignets (A little overfried so they were a little hard, but hey they're free, and Nancy [The Owner] offered another order for us to take home, but we were too full). Nancy is so nice! She made sure we felt at home. The resto had a band playing in the outside seating area, but we were able to hear/enjoy the live music even when we were seated inside. I'm glad we had our seafood dinner here instead of the tourist-filled restos in Clearwater Beach. We were able to relax while enjoying our dinner.

3rd visit - weekend dinner 2nd mediocre meal experience here - boo. Had such a bad meal the 2nd visit that I didn't write about it. That visit involved a steak sandwich with blue cheese that had about 1 piece of tough steak on it and 1/2 cup of blue cheese - blech. First time ever the BF has requested an item be removed from the bill. I ordered a chicken sandwich that sounded very interesting but tasted very boring. Their prices are not cheap ($8 for a sandwich) and don't come with any sides - for prices like that, a sandwich needs to be good. This visit we split a special - eggplant rollatini with linguine. Was expecting a great eggplant parmigiana type dish, got a big bowl of pasta with a rustic diced tomato sauce and 2 eggplant roll-ups that tasted like a blob of ricotta. Very disappointing and especially disappointing for $12 (again, no sides expect for 4 small pieces of hotdog bun 'garlic bread'). Wanted to order garlic wings but they were out. Our friends ordered stuffed mushrooms again and they were good although there were several crab shell pieces in the crab topping on my mushroom - careless food prep in my book. The highlight of this meal was the free beignets at the end. These were still delicious but don't count on receiving them every time you go because we didn't get them on the 2nd visit. There is one really great waiter there (dude with cool dreadlocks) - hope that you get him if you go because the other waitresses we've had have not been good.

I love the Key West like atmosphere of this restaurant. The live music is always great. My favorite dinner in the fish and chips. However, every dish that I've tried I've enjoyed.

Firstly, don't let the gruff gritty look of the place discourage you from coming in. The service was terrific. Absolutely no complaints. We tried their house specialty, shrimp and grits, lobster bisque and the beef martini sandwich. The bisque was thick and flavorful. Was not hot enough so we had to send it back for a quick pop in the microwave. afterwards it was delicious. The beef martini sandwich was terrific. Thick mushrooms, bacon and shredded ribeye in a wine sauce on garlic bread. Ate every bite. The shrimp and grits was good with an asterisk. If you don't like the texture of grits, you may not fully enjoy it. However, the broth was fresh, flavorful and filled with plump shrimp. As an added bonus, you get a plate of zeppoles ( fried dough coated in powdered sugar). While seemingly simple, they are amazing. Also had a live band, but it was a little loud for us so we sat inside. Overall a nice find in the middle of a suburban neighborhood.

The waiter had great suggestions and the food was delicious. We were initially concerned when we arrived. This place is in an odd place and is not appealing to look at. But go in. You will be very happy you did. Oh, try the home made sangria's if they are making them. Amazing.

Ordered a beer...twice the price i usually pay for draught...was warm so sent it back for higher priced wine..they charged me for the beer anyway..which is overpriced. I can get a $2 draft for same brands on the beach. Fish spread was good and enjoyable.. Then wanted a pound of shrimp.. $10 for a half pound. Was told for a pound double it. At $20.. I can get for $18 at waterfront restaurants in both downtown Dunedin and on Clearwater Beach and this place is far from any water view but in a tucked away in a off the beaten path..part residential..part small industrial location which has to be lower rent than waterfront properties..it was once an old house. I like a funky seedy place as well as anyone but the prices shouldn't be higher.and they should be reflected..that's one of the perks of a small local place tourists don't know about..I live in Clearwater just down the street so would have wanted to make it my neighborhood place..I will continue to go to Downtown Dunedin or beach hangouts instead..I did not have a good experience and I was ready too!!! The beer issue really bothered me..no one makes you pay for a beer you send back in my experience.

This place is ridiculously good! Don't let the location fool you! Super clean, great wait staff, and the food....oh my gosh.....the food! We started with the fish spread which is hands down the best in Pinellas County (and I grew up here). I had the shrimp and grits, something I make myself, and this was way better than anything I've ever made! My hubby had a shrimp pasta dish with artichoke hearts and capers that was to die for! And the free beignets pushed me right over the edge into a food comma! We WILL be back!

We LOVE this place! Our most recent visit was Friday night and had the best time with our server, Ruthie. We got the crab stuffed mushrooms and Nantucket Bucket and were very satisfied with both. It's a given we will be back, for the food as well as the service and ambiance.

Best locals hang out! Best food, sangrias, and awesome staff!! The fish spread is the best on or off the beach. Live music, open mike night is always fun! End the meal with beignets and it's perfect! The best kept secret in Clearwater!

Hidden jewel close to downtown Clearwater. We had the shrimp po boy and the chicken w/ sun dried tomatoes. I usually end up regretting trying the po boys anywhere I go bc they usually suck but this place was great. The bread is top notch and the shrimp is perfectly fried. The chicken sun dried tomato came on the same awesome bread and was topped with delicious garlic spinach, amazing sandwich. Lunch here also comes with fresh beignets for free. Glad I finally tried this place

Got the fish spread and shrimp and grits. It deserves five stars, but there are some things to know about this place: 1) It is in the middle of nowhere...it's basically a house, in the middle of a residential area. 2) It is almost exclusively 55+ 3) You have no idea who works there and who is actually eating there...for me, that's actually kind of nice. It is a very neighborhood, tight-knit kind of place. To the food...the fish spread could have been a bit more smoky for me...it was just a shade bland...but, the fixins with it (diced red onions, tomatoes, and sliced banana peppers and jalapenos) were perfect compliments and very fresh. The shrimp and grits were creamy, savory, and well-balanced. I've had many a dish like this over-salted, over-cheesed, etc., just basically a palate-blasting kind of experience. This was nothing of the sort...whoever runs this kitchen is a real cook...there is a delicate balance that shines through and it seems weird for such a blue-collar place. But who's complaining? This is a top-notch place to have some southern seafood, no doubt about it.

I've lived in downtown Clearwater for over 5 years and Nauti Nancy's is definitely the best kept secret in Clearwater. This is the place that the locals go when they want to enjoy fresh seafood and not have to pay Clearwater Beach (tourist) prices. Since my wife and I are locals, we eat here on a regular basis, but have no connection to the business. I figured it was time to write a review after having dozens of great meals at the restaurant. So here goes and I hope this benefits the many yelp members. Being a regular, I thought I should also correct some of the older reviews I've read. There are now 6 beers on draft, including Bud Select for just $1. The higher end includes Shock Top and Stella. They also sell wine by the glass, but it is not a full liquor bar, beer and wine only. The menu is mostly seafood with a Rhode Island flair. Most of the seafood dishes are in a broth, rather than heavy cream. My wife and I regularly enjoy the Nantucket Bucket and the many fresh shrimp dishes. The portions are generous and usually accompanied by a side. All the meals come with complementary Beignets/Zeppelins, fried dough dusted with powered sugar. A great finish to a great meal. The fish spread is great and popular with all the locals. The other local favorite is shrimp and grits. Wow, this is just about the best I've ever had. We also like their daily specials. Since I'm over 55 (I guess I fit another reviewers description :) I'm eating a lot of salads and their Antipasto salad is great with the house dressing. My wife orders their burgers regularly and though they are on the smaller side, they're grilled to perfection. On the downside, the fries are on the greasy side, as several other reviewers have mentioned. Some items are very inconsistent. The coleslaw is dripping wet one day and the next day dry. Daily specials are in limited quantity some days and it's disappointing to find out they run out. There's live music most nights, but it's best to call ahead. If you have a large group, call for a reservation. There is inside seating at both bars. Courtyard seating is mostly under umbrellas and also where the live bands play. Only one bar is air conditioned. Smoking is permitted in the outside bar (off the courtyard). Nauti Nancy's is a great local restaurant. Come and enjoy a little bit of the local cuisine of the Florida Gulf coast.

I really enjoy going to breakfast and lunch at Nauti Nancy's. It is very laid-back and has a casual atmosphere, but the food is always fantastic. I love their raw bar and if the oyster's aren't good, Nancy won't serve them. I've also had their crab-stuffed mushroom caps and they are fantastic, but a bit rich, so a little goes a long way. On my last trip there, I shared a chicken sandwich with sundried tomato, basil and mozzarella cheese and a steak and mushroom sandwich with a friend of mine and they were both excellent as well. All of the food there is extremely flavorful. And, to add to the bliss, they hired one of my favorite servers from a competitor, so Sherril is there to give exemplary service. I'll keep coming back for more!

Food amazing, off the beaten path, so on a crazy day one mile away, it's a beacon of serenity ( as much as a bar can be). Service great, and did I mention the food???

Surprisingly great food served up in this funky little dive bar right off the Pinellas Trail. It's the kind of place where locals hang out at the bar and people bring their leashed dogs in to lay at their feet in the outdoor patio area. There really is a Nancy and she's in the kitchen cooking up amazing New Orleans influenced food. The steak martini sandwich is a kind of cross between a philly steak sandwich and a french dip - juicy, flavorful and gloriously messy! The sweet potato fries are big, thick and pan fried which leaves them soft and a bit greasy. They come sprinkled with a bit of cinnamon sugar - yum. Total comfort food. Hubby had the shrimp n grits which was fabulous as well. Our first visit was a weekday lunch during the "low season" and we were lucky enough to try the free beignets - hot and crunchy and sweet, awesome! Our subsequent visit however was for dinner during the "high season". We arrived late and by the time we finished our meal, they had run out of beignets. I've seen people complain about that here and I just wanna say these things are cooked up fresh as the day goes on and on a really busy day they simply may run out. I mean, they are free, after all. Nancy doesn't advertise them on the menu OR guarantee them - it's just a cool little thing they do to be nice so I say if you ask for beignets and they don't have them just chill out and come back another time! Great food, friendly super casual atmosphere, and hard working, caring wait staff. The food is terrific, scratch made, and down home. So leave your fancy pants at home, throw on some flip flops, and check it out.

The atomsphere is happy and full of laugher. Everyone is happy and having a great time at this place. The food is outstanding and the service is equally as great. The drinks are priced affordable.. I have always enjoyed myself every time I have visited with family and or clients. A must go to place in Clearwater. I Love Nancy and Pam the owners they are terrific !

We ate here on Tuesday. my husband ordered a oyster PO boy. Huge roll lots of lettuce and tomatoes but literally 3 or 4 tiny oysters on the sandwich. will not be going back. we went because of other reviews. Too bad they lost a customer because they were skimpy on their food.

Great food, great atmosphere. Tucked away a bit, but worthy of a small adventure. Fish was real fresh and the people were terrific. Our crowd had mussels [ a+], two plates of seafood pasta which were awesome. Only disappointment was they didn't have the donuts for dessert. Will have to come back.

Amazing food. We had the amazing fish spread, and dollar beers. Followed that up with the shrimp poh boy, and the nauti steak. Poh boy was great, nauti steak was not bad. We sat outside and enjoyed a beautiful and warm Florida afternoon. We had the fish spread and drank $1 beers to cool down. The feel of the spot was dive-y, but the food was excellent.

  • Garnet F.

The service was good and everyone was friendly. Unfortunately the food was mediocre. The fried fish and shrimp were soggy, no crunch to them at all. The fish spread was a bit plain. The soda was completely flat. I would not return.

What a great find in downtown Clearwater! A friend told us about this place. We had the beer drafts which were fine. I ordered the oysters on the half the shell which were fine but wish they were bigger. My boyfriend got the Nancy nauti steak which was great but a liitle well done. The blue cheese on top was fantastic! We want to try the pressed Cuban next time. Beignets were to die for....

This place was fantastic. We found it by accident and we're very happy for it! The seafood apps were fresh and tasty; we had steamed shrimp and clams. The shrimp po boys was also very tasty. Our waiter told us that all the seafood was local and cooked fresh. You could definitely tell. As full as we were, we decided to go for dessert since the rest of the food was fantastic. So happy we had the bread pudding - absolutely awesome. This is definitely a place you could easily drive by, but don't! It was really good!

Off the beaten path. Borderline divey biker bar meets beachside cafe. This isn't a pretentious place so don't expect culinary art. If you go in looking for decently good sandwiches or seafood and a beer to wash them down with. Not a bad choice at all.

Nice laid back atmosphere. Went for an early dinner. Took advantage of the Bud Select pitcher special. They put plastic ice sticks in it to keep it cold. Not needed on our chilly visit but a nice touch for summer. Location is a converted house with a bar inside what used to be a garage. Patio seating was enjoyable. There is also an area with chairs and a fire pit which looks nice for a night of hanging out or watching a band. Our food was quick. I had the jambalaya and my boyfriend the shrimp and scallop Alfredo. Both very cheap for entrees. They were lacking a bit of seasoning though. Would be my only suggestion to work on that. Otherwise, the beignets at the end of our meal was a nice touch.

"Ummm, Hi is this New Orleans? I would like to have your deliciousness delivered to Clearwater Florida, PRONTO!!!" If it were only that easy to get awesome food straight out of the Big Easy here in Clearwater! Well guess what! YOU CAN --- IT'S CALLED NAUTI-NANCY'S. Ordered some delivery from work today. Blackened Fish Sandwich on a hoagie bun, Twice Baked Potato Soup with Bacon and Cheddar on top, and then they tossed in 2 beignets on the side!!! Nancy came here herself to deliver! She was so awesome, very friendly! I said I was going to update after I made it inside, but I couldn't wait that long to get more food from here, so I am going to update now as the food settles in my stomach, and then I will update again after I take my fiancee to eat inside. She is going to love it because she spent her undergrad days in New Orleans at Tulane. Nancy says they have live blues a lot, so we will have to make it on one of those nights. If you like New Orleans and you are in the area, you gotta check out Nauti Nancy's! OH YES AND MY FOOD WAS EXCELLENT!!! Next time I will try to Shrimp Po-Boy because of all the other wonderful Yelp reviews. But blackened fish sandwich and twice baked potato soup were perfect, and still steaming hot when they arrived only 15 minutes after I ordered!!!

  • Lee W.

Get the fish spread, get the 4-4-4, get anything with the blackening seasoning. The place is local and not pretentious and not full of vacationing drunks. It was a noisy, pleasant, tasty meal. The service was also only so-so, but you aren't there expecting a James Beard restaurant, you should be expecting a good and comfortable meal in a place where the people watching can be great. If you are the kind of diner looking for good eats or restaurants worth an out of the way trip, try this one.

Stopped in here today for a late lunch. Ordered the shrimp dinner platter, which came with French fries and coleslaw. The French fries were limp. I like them crunchy. When I placed my order I asked for tartar sauce and it came with cocktail sauce. Glass of wine was $5 which I consider pricy considering it's a dive bar, and it was served in plastic, which I think is standard for a dive bar. This came with a free offering of beignets, which unfortunately, I had to ask for AFTER I paid the bill. I then had to wait about 10 minutes for them. I was disappointed, so probably won't go back.

  • Taylor H.

What a fantastic restaurant! My wife ordered a shrimp/artichoke heart/capers/pasta dish, I ordered a scallop/zucchini/mushroom pasta dish. They were both fantastic!!! They came with garlic bread as well. Two pleasant surprises of the evening: our dinners came with free beignets (this wasn't mentioned anywhere in the menu) and there was a musician playing outside. The musician was "Treble Hook". He added a lot to the atmosphere. I definitely want to go back and try the nauti nauti burger. It's a half pound burger between two grilled cheese sandwiches :-D

  • Bruce D.

Food was terrible, overpriced, and poorly prepared! Even worse than the tasteless rubbery Tilapia - was the nasty waitress who spent more time on smoke breaks than attending to her two tables. When we displayed our displeasure with her horrible service by skipping tipping, she actually followed us into the parking lot to verbally accost us with contemptuous cursing.

Amazing food!! Our first time, very busy, but the food spoke volumes! We got shrimp & grits which was out of this world & a shrimp po boy the flavors were bursting in your mouth. The Bennett's were yummy!! Thank you

The store has a great local flavor ambiance with the converted residence into a nautical/Tiki-themed restaurant and bar. It was a great experience listening to Maroon 5 recordings while enjoying the chicken breast and ham with white cheddar broccoli and hollandaise served over buttered rice and side of vegetables. I sat outside and it was great to enjoy the evening Gulf breeze while dining on one of the best meals I've had in a while. It may temporarily break my diet, but Nauti-Nancy's made the splurge worth it. I don't often get a chance to get to Clearwater, but when I do, I will be back again.

Get in the car and get to Nauti-Nancy's! We had a wonderful meal here. I had fabulous, fresh tilapia. I was completely surprised at this unexpectedfinefood. This was our first time here. Everyone at our outdoor table was pleased with everything including the outstanding service by very friendly and attentive staff. This was highly recommended to us by friends that live in Clearwater and are VERY picky eaters. CAn't wait to return on our next trip to Florida.

This review is a little late, I ate here in March 2014. I have been meaning to write a review but just never got around to it. Small local out of the way restaurant that serves excellent food. It has a great atmosphere and friendly staff. This isn't a high end location but the food is better than most. The neighborhood can be a little intimidating but go there anyway, you'll be glad you did.

Great food and people!!! We decided to take a slight detour due to the traffic headed towards the beach and found Nauti-Nancy's. Really friendly local crowd along with a treat - the Tangent Singing Duo! Had good food and a good time!

Visiting from New York. Beef Martini (Rib-eye sandwich) was 6.99 and very good. The staff was very friendly. We came for the Tuesday night blues jam - great music and great atmosphere. Fried dough was so good. Fun place!

There were a ton of flies harassing my family and I as we ate (I mean these flies were relentless in trying to get our food) In addition, the food was less than desirable due to poor seasoning and undercooking of the fried items (I.e. The fries and onion rings) Not sure who gave the other rave reviews with 3+ stars but they lied! What a waste of mine and my families time! Never again...

A friend of mine took me to Nauti-Nancy's last year. I had never heard of this restaurant nor did I know what kind of food it served. I was very surprised at the great menu featuring New Orleans Style Cajun Food and had never had shrimp and grits before. Boy was I in for a treat! The restaurant is located in the middle of a residential neighborhood in the 'not so great' area of Clearwater, Fl. So, upon arriving there, I was a little skeptical. When you first walk in, it looks like a courtyard with picnic tables and an outside bar, and resembles a beach bar with some tiki umbrellas. They have an indoor restaurant and bar as well. There's a little spot for live music and several musicians take turns playing.Very cool. After a glass of chilled Chardonnay, I had their famous cheezy shrimp and grits, which was absolutely delicious. I have been back again, and tried the spinach, bacon, and onion shrimp and grits and just love it. The shrimp are a perfect size and the creamy sauce is so delicious, it absolutely melts in your mouth, and you just can't wait to get the next bite. And what would a Cajun meal be without 'beignets'? These are those deep-fried batter topped with a generous portion of powdered sugar....what a rush! The food is just awesome and tasty and I liked the laid-back atmosphere. Never been to New Orleans, but I feel we have a little bit of it right here in Clearwater.

OK, Nauti-Nancy's is not located in a great neighborhood. You'd never drive by this place and want to go in. In fact, you'd probably never even drive by it. Don't let that bother you. The inside of this restaurant/bar and it's food is why you're coming here. The food is to die for. The shrimp and grits are great as is the shrimp po boy. The review or two that complains about the beer choices were correct, but they are attempting to fix that. Still only one beer on tap, but there is now a bigger choice in bottles. They also have Beer battered shrimp, burgers, pressed cubans, pressed italian, oyster po boy, beef martini!! And a lot more. Great fresh fish specials, but this is a meat place too. The bar is under roof, but there is plenty of outside casual dining area. Usually a local band is playing or I think one night a week they have karaoke. Nancy's is a very casual place, the owner and her staff are very friendly. There are a lot of regulars here. You definitely want to try this hidden gem!! I love this place!!

We had the seafood omelette with hollandaise sauce. It was fantastic. Chuck full of seafood! Amazing flavors. Of course it was finished off with a house made beniette. The place is right off the Pinellas Trail and definitely deserves a stop.

We just ate here and it is a super place to eat. The food was great. We had our meal outside. It was 88 degrees but the sea breeze made it feel very comfortable. Our server Jared was attentive and a gentleman. The meal filled us up to the max but it was a good fullness not an overstuffed one. i'm more than completely satisfied. I plan on being a return customer.

This was our second visit to Nauti-Nancy's. We are dedicated foodies and will always tell the truth. I re-ordered two items that I had ordered on my first visit. Not the same. They seemed to be watered down. Husband and I ordered their new lunch special. We both had the Portuguese soup and fell in love. He ordered the Southern fried catfish. Again, you could taste the love. When my two re-orders came out I could not believe they were prepared by the same chef. Because we are foodies who have eaten the world over, we want to know that consistency is part of the mission statement. We unfortunately did not find that. When a restaurant offers a special menu it can mean that a new chef is cooking and bringing his/her own specialty. We will continue to vet this great funky place out and keep our honest reports posted.

A laid back atmosphere with great food at good prices. Had the blackened blue cheese burger and it was filled with flavor. My wife had the shrimp & grits and it too was great. For desert, bread pudding. Wow! It was so good. I recommend this place.

First time here. We weren't sure walking up how it would be but so glad we came in!! Shrimp were fresh and really good size. Clams were excellent. Had the blackened shrimp and jalapeño cheese grits and the catfish topped with gumbo and it was fantastic! We will be back for sure.

My sister-in-law found this place by chance for us to try out. What a great local restaurant to hang out. My husband and I ordered the Oysters Rockefeller and it was off the hook!!! Ordered the Shrimp Po Boy and my sister-in-law and her boyfriend ordered the French Dip with thin sliced fries. Both meals were great!! Then we had entertainment by two women who performed songs for all ages that were here tonite to enjoy. Then to end our meal, we had hot Beignets!!! Great!! The staff were so friendly and fun, especially Nancy. For a fun nite - this place is a definite must!!!

Best place for a laid back late lunch! We were disappointed with the no. of reviews for places in Clearwater, but thrilled to have discovered this awesome little place even though it wasn't on the beach. The food is awesome - cooked to perfection and super tasty. Service is sooo friendly and down-to-earth. There is a bar with a huge screen TV + additional seating in an open-top courtyard. I love the decor and ambiance, especially the cool rock n roll music being played outdoors. The place has an awesome vibe and we would definitely go back there when we're back in Clearwater! Recommend getting the Shrimp Po Boy for sure! The shrimp were massive and cooked in beer batter and deep fried to just the perfect texture! Also had the mussels (which were delish), buffalo wings and bruschetta. All were spot on delicious!! Only minus was the variety of beers on tap... they only have low cal Bud, which seriously tastes like pi$$ but there were other bottled beers to choose from, as well as wine.

Ok so your away from home and you want a non chain place to eat and feel like a local, then this is your place. I had the blackened shrimp and it was simply awesome. Great food, atmosphere and cold drinks. Off the beaten path. You feel like you belong here and after it's all over, your glad you came here. I bet money you will tell friends about this place.

After seeing that this place only had 5 reviews, my wife and I took a chance went to Nauti-Nancy's. We are glad we did! The wait-staff was super friendly and the atmosphere was very laid back. We sat at a table inside a converted garage and had a laid-back lunch on a Saturday afternoon. We ordered a mushroom and provolone burger, sweet potato fries, and the shrimp po-boy. Their burgers have a homemade feel to them (could use a little bit more salt I think). The sweet potato fries were sweet and sliced thick, like fried plantains, and very delicious. The shrimp po-boy was the star of the meal, with huge deep fried battered shrimp, very fresh tasting, with a great mayonnaise, fresh lettuce and tomatoes, on a hefty roll. Just writing this review makes me want to return tomorrow for another shrimp po-boy! All in all, a great place for a relaxed lunch. The beer selection is mostly domestic stuff and I didn't ask about their wines, but if you're a beer or wine connoisseur, there are other places to go.

Please don't go here, we want to keep this place a secret all to ourselves! All kidding aside, if you want great food cooked fast, fresh and right, then you have to get to this restaurant. It's kind of on the other side of the tracks when it comes to its Clearwater location, but get past that and you're going to have a great meal. If you like an eclectic decor, this place has it. Don't expect romantic ambience, but you can expect a great meal. And free beignets!

Excellent food and service. The owner is very friendly and helpful. We had the oyster poboys, with sweet potato fries, potato fries and cheesy grits. After lunch we had the beignets. All excellent.

Though this place is in a pretty tough neighborhood (N. Greenwood surrounded by meth labs and the likes), it's worth going there during daylight hours. The food is freshly prepared and quite tasty and the staff are extremely friendly. Nancy has been known to kick a** on some of the local trouble makers, which has earned her the care and respect of her neighbors, proving that there is more to the neighborhood than meets the eye. How else would she keep the doors open for so long? She's tough, but darned likable. I had a Cuban which was just divine, and my husband had the sausage sandwich and enjoyed it so much he ordered another. We would eat there more often if the location were better, but if you're in the area at the right time of day, give it a shot. You won't be sorry.

If you haven't been scared off by the neighborhood, go inside and enjoy a shrimp po boy. The po boy is consistently my favorite item on the menu. Burgers in the past have been alright, a little overcooked for my liking, but the shrimp po boy is always a winner. The beer selection is small. Nights with live bands draw the biggest crowds and service can get a little hit or miss. Finish your meal off with free beignets!

Fish spread was awesome!! I had the shrimp Po Boy , bread was grilled and burnt ruined the sandwich. Every bite tasted burnt. My 7 yr old boys ordered grilled cheese and they put parsley all over the plate to garnish, they wouldn't eat it (kids hate that). My husband had the BBQ shrimp and said it was very good. We both had onion rings and they were great! Our daughter had the shrimp Alfredo, she's an Alfredo expert and said the sauce was thin and bland. Cool atmosphere!

This place is amazing, really great food and worth a trip away from the beach. My wife and I, along with our 12 and 15 year old just finished the best meal we've had in Florida and would HIGHLY recommend this quaint little place. Stop in for lunch or dinner outside under a beautiful oak on the patio, then wrap it up with beignets for dessert. Please don't miss it if you're anywhere near Clearwater!!

Just went to Nautical Nancys ....yum! Its incredible...the shrimp and grits rival the ones at Hominy grill in Charleston. The fish spread was out of this world. The attention to detail is wonderful. The stuffed mushrooms were chock full of crabmeat and the clams in white wine sauce were divine!

Stopped in for the yummy powdered zeppoles and was not dissapointed. Yummy fried dough wit just the right amount of moisture in the midde, sprinkled with delic powdered sugar. Who can go wrong with that? All for the low price of $3 for a dozen... U have got to be kidding.... They have live music on some nights, indoor and outdoor seating, a bar in a converted garage, and enough room outside to chill and dance. Will have to go back for lunch one day.

This place is in odd location,in the middle of a neighborhood. Its an old house converted to a restaurant. The food is great! Everything we ordered was delicious and fresh. The garage was made into a bar, a nice outside area and some nights live entertainment. A hidden gem.

We ate at this off road juke joint tonight for a refreshing change. This is just down home food, with a taste of New Orleans. I had a smoked sausage hoagie which was the best sausage I have had in a long time. Shelley had a muffaletta sandwich which was aces. It ain't picturesque, but its pretty by the trail. Worth going 2 or 3 billion times. Oh they gave us beignet. mega yum.

Come here if you want great food in the most relaxed atmosphere possible. The whole place revolves around Nauti Nancy (nautical) and she brings the same excitement to her recipes that she does to her meet and greet with the customers. Get to know her while you dine on seafood, ribs, burgers, or any number of delicious items. I was introduced to this place by a friend who told me about Nancy, but I keep coming back because her food is better than anything you'll find anywhere else.

Great food and people!!! We decided to take a slight detour due to the traffic headed towards the beach and found Nauti-Nancy's. Really friendly local crowd along with a treat - the Tangent Singing Duo! Had good food and a good time!

Visiting from out of town. From the outside, you wouldn't guess this place is as good as it is. The food and service are both excellent. Chef fixed a vegetarian dish for me, which I appreciated.

First time here. We weren't sure walking up how it would be but so glad we came in!! Shrimp were fresh and really good size. Clams were excellent. Had the blackened shrimp and jalapeño cheese grits and the catfish topped with gumbo and it was fantastic! We will be back for sure.

A laid back atmosphere with great food at good prices. Had the blackened blue cheese burger and it was filled with flavor. My wife had the shrimp & grits and it too was great. For desert, bread pudding. Wow! It was so good. I recommend this place.

  • Linda J.

  • Shannon H.

This place is in odd location,in the middle of a neighborhood. Its an old house converted to a restaurant. The food is great! Everything we ordered was delicious and fresh. The garage was made into a bar, a nice outside area and some nights live entertainment. A hidden gem.

  • Larry J.

Yay!

  • G G.

Haven't been there, but read in one review that there's no A/C inside. Definitely a deal breaker. Not fair for us with pulmonary problems!

Local. No-frills.

I have had several dishes and sandwiches here and never had one I didn't like. By and far the bed fish spread app anywhere around. Especially with all the sides that come with it (banana peppers, jalapeño, tomatoes, etc).

The waiter had great suggestions and the food was delicious. We were initially concerned when we arrived. This place is in an odd place and is not appealing to look at. But go in. You will be very happy you did. Oh, try the home made sangria's if they are making them. Amazing.

We LOVE this place! Our most recent visit was Friday night and had the best time with our server, Ruthie. We got the crab stuffed mushrooms and Nantucket Bucket and were very satisfied with both. It's a given we will be back, for the food as well as the service and ambiance.

The service was good and everyone was friendly. Unfortunately the food was mediocre. The fried fish and shrimp were soggy, no crunch to them at all. The fish spread was a bit plain. The soda was completely flat. I would not return.
