Quick, friendly efficient service. Good value. I ordered two tacos. My only complaint was they were very wet so not too easy to eat. You get one free order of chips and salsa and it was delicious. The restaurant is very tastefully decorated and very clean. My waitress, and the bus boy, were both very friendly.

I'll keep this review simple. We came in for lunch on a weekend. PROS: - The salsa is really good. - The service is friendly. - Restaurant is clean and has nice decor. - Margaritas are flavorful. CONS: - The food is "meh." When something says "hot" on the menu, I expect hot, not sweet tomato sauce. - Service was really slow. Painfully slow. - It's kind of expensive. $10 for a lunch plate...that's steep.

When we ordered dinner, there was a comedy of errors as the server kept coming back every five minutes to report what we had ordered was unavailable. The first two times it was funny, but after the fourth consecutive item, it was pathetic. The final time, the cook came out of the kitchen to tell us how hard it is to make tamales. Well, yes, that is why we go to a restaurant to get them. I finally went with the taquitos, which were available but looked nothing like the picture in the menu and were soggy. I recommend that if you must eat here, telephone ahead to find for which menu items they have ordered the ingredients and have actually made for the night of your visit. PS There is no liquor license, so don't expect margaritas. Margaritas were not one of the four unavailable items. PPS The hours posted on the door and the hours posted on the website do not agree.

Great little Mexican restaurant. I tried something different (Chicken Fondido) and it was delicious. Looks like a hole in the wall, but as always looks can be deceiving. The waitress is friendly and knows her regulars. Great place for someone looking for a good quick meal. Especially if youre already in the downtown area. Its across the street from the courthouse.

Stopped here on a whim after kayaking the Chaz. What an awesome little surprise. Wonderful fresh salsa and the chicken with queso was superb. Great service with a server with a sense of humor. Great experience!

I love this place. A cute little gem right in downtown Brooksville across from the courthouse. Misty, our favorite waitress always remembers what you drink when you walk in the door. It's a nice atmosphere and I haven't had a meal I didn't like. I love the Pollo fundido. A little salty but I haven't had Mexican that's not. I love this place so much, we had our wedding Rehearsal dinner here! They really went out of their way to accommodate our group. If you're downtown stop in and grab a bite. It's always better to support local business'

Food was good. I was surprised, because of the looks of the location. One complaint would be that they stop offering the lunch menu at 3 (most places it's 4pm) Otherwise it was pretty good.

I'm from California so I'll be the first to admit that I'm a Mexican snob. I've been looking for a good place since moving to Florida and, apart from an awesome place in Orlando, I have been failing miserably. Enchiladas was one of the places I tried. he menu looked okay but the food wasn't Mexican. I'm not sure what it is. The service wasn't bad. It's been over a month since we went, so I can't remember all of the specifics, I just remember not liking the food much. Definitely won't be back.

I can't say that I'm a connoisseur of Mexican, but I am a connoisseur of chimichangas, and their White Chimichanga is the best I've ever had. I live over an hour away and I'm thinking of coming back for my birthday. What a pleasant surprise.

Been several times for both lunch and dinner. I've never seen the dining room full. Served right away with chips and 2 types of salsa (hot/mild). Nice touch in the age of ala cart.Traditional dishes, decent portions. Homemade flan for dessert. Attentive staff. Will continue to go.

It seems like this place has a pretty good location, being right across from the courthouse. But I went on a Tuesday during lunch hour and there were three other people in the restaurant. There's a reason why. The place is owned by...Russians. Yes, Russians cooking Mexican food. Already a point against it. The decor is cheap and lame (what's with the frog mural?) and there's also a very odd ramp you have to climb just to be seated. Another point against this place. However, the tables are spread out fairly spaciously and the restaurant is usually spotless. Now on to the food. You get two kinds of salsa, mild and spicy. Honestly there's not a huge difference between the two, although the spicy is better in my opinion. They used to have fresh queso but last time I went it tasted like the kind you bought at the store. The chips were stale and greasy. My actual entree was pretty good; I had green enchiladas. They could've given you more sauce but overall I liked it. They also give you heaping portions at a low price. Be advised if you get a drink it's likely to be partly frozen. Their refrigerator is set extremely low for some reason. The service was passable; the waitresses don't talk except to get your order. Probably because they don't speak much English. That's not really their fault, so I give them a pass on that. This place won't be open much longer. I don't know how it's still in business, honestly, as no one is there every time I go. PROS: Decent food Good location Tables are not too close together Clean Cheap CONS: They take shortcuts on dips and salsa Old chips! No ambiance whatsoever Mediocre service Nothing standout about this place VERDICT: This place is completely deserving of Yelp's 3 star rating---A-OK. There's nothing outright wrong about this place, but there's nothing memorable here either. Only go here if you have a craving for Mexican food and have business near the courthouse.

Cold Negra Modela is key to good Mexican eating, and Enchiladas didn't disappoint. Chicken fundido was very good, and a worthy recommendation from our waitress. She said it was their best seller. The kids loved the tacos to go, even an hour later. Good portion sizes. Not too little, but not so overly generous that we members of the Clean Plate Club don't feel good when we leave. Prices were pretty good for the amount and quality of the food, with the exception of charging 90 cents for cilantro, which should be free.

What I liked: The Chicken Fundido. Different from any Mexican dish I have had before but good. The Salsa. I judge all Mexican eateries by their salsa, they have a mild and a hot..I liked them mixed together. What I didn't like: The rice. I like yellow rice with my Cuban food, it seemed out of place on the plate with re-fried beans and enchiladas. I look forward to going back and trying more of their dishes....at dinner time. If you choose to check it out for lunch, be warned you will be lucky to only have to walk a quarter mile from the parking spot you eventually find.

I've been half a dozen times and the food has always been pretty good. The portions are acceptable and the prices reasonable. Selection on the menu is good and the staff has always been very friendly. We arrived late one evening and didn't realize they were closing in 20 minutes. It was only after, that we realized what time they closed. Good food, good service, good prices.

Decent prices, great prices, and very large portions. I'll recommend it. Don't expect too much, and you won't be disappointed.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
