I actually like this place. They have like a thousand hot sauces lol. But it's a great place to grab a burrito or something and load it up with sauces that'll burn your face off hahaha

Disappointed was an understatement!!!! Ordering my food I am chatting with the girl taking my order about how much I can't wait to get home and eat my chips and queso. I even ordered an extra queso letting her know that I like having a lot of queso with my chips... When I got home and open my to go box there was My burrito with 5 count them 5 whole chips!!!!!! Hell all the girl had to do is tell me that I was going to want an extra side of chips and I would have bought them but FIVE chips Come on that's is RIDICULOUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks for lots of queso and no chips! !!!!! MELISSA

If your looking for constantly good mexician food this is the place. I have been frequenting T.Flats since college which was more then a few moons ago. The decor in the resurant has fun painted tiles on the ceiling and has zombie-esque anime painted by local artists. They all have a hot sauce bar with quite a few to choose from (I'm guessing about 10-12). We ordered the Tijuana Trio which is chips with salsa, guac and a nacho cheese sauce. Its a pretty good amount if your sharing. For dinner i ordered the Fresh Norrito Bowl which is AMAZING! I can never eat it all!! It has chicken (you choose) salsa rice, black beans, pico, guac and green onions. I always add sour cream and cheese and top it off with the Smack My Sweet Ass and Call Me Sally. Its so good that I can never finish it all and take most of it home!! The service was ok. The girls tried delivering our food to another table because we couldn't hear our name being called but it happens. Overall the place is great.

I went there yesterday 5-20-2015 because of group of people I was at a meeting with all decided to meet there, after the meeting. I ordered the Chicken Enchilada's, but when I found out they did not come with refried beans and rice, I had to order the dinner package, that at least came with a Coke. I waited for my Chips and Salsa, while the Enchilada's were being made for me. Well, out came the Enchilada's, and no freaking free chips and Salsa :( The 2 Enchilada's were ok, but just OK, and the rice and beans were decent, but there were very small servings of them, compared to what I am used to. And, no cheese on the refried beans either. I did manage to taste the Chips and Salsa, and their Guacamole Dip. It was fresh and good. The Salsa was "sissified" IMHO, and lacked much flavor, or heat. Both Taco Bus, and Taco Rey here in the Tampa and Brandon Florida area are at another level in Mexican Food, IMHO. Plus, Taco Rey always include chips and salsa when you order a meal, as do the many other Mexican Places I frequent. I get 4 Chicken Enchilada's at Taco Rey with rice and beans for 6.99 vs the near 10 dollars I payed here, and the food is better, and there is more of it. Service here was awesome, the place was spotless, but I am not likely to return, unless my friends want to come here again.

Ok, so maybe I was a bit hasty writing this review the first time. With so many yelpers liking TF I thought maybe it was me, so we tried again for lunch Saturday. This time I got "Dos Tacos" crispy, chicken. Ya know what.....not too bad. Their rice and beans were always good but I did enjoy my tacos today. What made them better was a sauce I found in the sauce bar made with peaches. It was sweetly hot and complimented the tacos perfectly. So there ya go. It's not 5 star eats but 3 is passable. The staff is great.

I'm a big fan of Mexican food. I like it so much in fact, that I am probably part Mexican and just don't know it. This place is good for American Mexican food...if that is the criteria used for reviewing it. Doesn't seem to be very authentic Mexican in taste (if you know what Uncle Julio's is, it is like that), but the ingredients tasted fresh. I would say that the only thing I didn't like was the rice. That did taste like it was boxed. The chips were good though and not greasy. I would probably come here on Taco Tuesday (we ordered takeout on a random night) because the food was decent. I haven't been inside but have heard of the hot sauce bar. I think that's pretty cool. This will not be a place we frequent, but it shouldn't be looked past. It seems like a nice place for a family dinner. The tostadas were good which is what I ordered. We also ordered the trio appetizer. I love guac and they made it well. The queso was good in my opinion, but some might not like it. It tasted exactly like nacho cheese pizza rolls. Try buying the rolls from your local grocery store and you will notice. I used to like those when I got them- another reason why there was a lack of authenticity. I thought that this place was pricey for what it was. I have been to more authentic Mexican places, received heaps of food, and have paid less. They charge more probably because the Kitschy type atmosphere attracts more people.

On a recent business trip, one of my colleagues recommended Tijuana Flats for dinner. Based on the reviews, and my colleague's perky enthusiasm for Tijuana Flats, I thought it prudent to check it out. I have to say that I was very impressed with the food and the atmosphere. I lived in San Antonio, TX for a few years, and so if there is one cuisine my taste-buds are pretty well-attuned to, it is Tex-Mex. Food: I had the chimichanga. There is just something about meat, cheese, and rice wrapped in a tortilla and dropped into a fryer that really gets my gastric juices flowing! I ordered it with a side of guacamole, and topped with queso. I really wanted to get beef in it, but because I'm fat, I decided on the healthier option and got chicken. For going with the 'healthier' option, I was really pleased with how moist and flavorful the chicken was! The queso was as delicious as expected, but the guacamole was exceptionally good, something that is very rare in establishments such as this. The real highlight though, like many others have mentioned, is the hot sauce bar. Yes, some of those sauces are nasty as sweaty balls, but a lot of them had really unique and pleasing flavors. The 'Asian' flavored ones like the Sweet Thai Chili were real favorites of mine. It didn't taste particularly good on my chimichanga, but it was still delicious with chips. The only downside to the food is that even with all of the great flavors, I have had better food elsewhere. Don't let that deter you from eating here though, because unless your making a trip to San Antonio in the near future, the food here might be some of the best Tex Mex in the immediate area. Food: 4 / 5 (3 for food, + 1 for hot sauce bar and good guacamole) Service: Service was your typical, run-of-the-mill type of service for this type of establishment. The service didn't exactly stand-out, but those who I interacted with were pleasant, in an unexpectedly fake sort of way. Service: 3 / 5 Atmosphere: This is the one category where Tijuana Flats shines for me. It had a really cool, dive-y feel to it, and it significantly contributed to the overall meal. This is totally a place I would come and just chill with a couple of dudes, chat, and maybe even load-up on some good alcohol-absorbing food before going out. The only trick to that though, is getting home before the beans kick-in. Atmosphere: 4 / 5 Price: For what you get, I feel as if you get a pretty good bang-for-your-buck. It is definitely filling, and the wide variety of food and sauces at your disposal make the whole dining experience worth more. Price: 4 / 5 Conclusion / Final Thoughts: I am not from the Brandon area, so I cannot comment on whether or not this is definitively 'the place to go' for this type of cuisine, but I'd be willing to bet you'd be hard-pressed to find something that delivers quality food with a quality experience like Tijuana Flats. I personally have never been to a place with such an extensive hot sauce bar before, so that was a really cool perk for me. Because of that, this is definitely somewhere I would go back to, and definitely somewhere I would bring family and friends to.

We are regular patrons of Tijuana Flats on Causeway in Brandon. We are always greeted with smiles and even hugs from some of the staff. There is something to be said to be recognized when you walk into an establishment... 1) you eat there too much... and 2) you love the service and food so much that you want to come back again and again... I will say that it is both for us. We do enjoy the food and the service that we receive makes it all the more better... AND we are creatures of habit, so if we receive good service, for a good price and are acknowledged - we will be loyal customers!

I'm giving this place 5 stars somewhat because of the food, but mostly for the service. I'm picky about service, these people are always SUPER friendly and courteous. They really go out of their way to make sure that you have a pleasant experience. Their queso and guac are fantastic as are their chips. Awesome location.

Okay. So, since the bf does hit this place from time to time, I have been wanting to try them out for a while. The boyfriend was near here tonight and offered to pick up a burrito/enchilada combo for me. I've been craving both for months. SOLD! He ordered a beef burrito with queso topping (extra charge) and a beef enchilada with refried beand and rice. Burrito? No queso. Refried beans and rice? Nonexistent. I've added pictures of the order list on top of the box and the contents inside. One of these things is not like the otherrrrrrrrrrr...

For as many Mexican food places I have tried, this is the one we keep going back to. No, it's probably not 'authentic' but neither is anything else around here. After living in both Cali and Texas I have come to the realization that what I perceive as real Mexican food just isn't available around here. For starters, the Flats has the best chips and queso around. Chips are thin, crispy, fresh and salted. Salsa is decent, queso is great, but not at all spicy (which is nice for kids). If you wanna spice yours up there is an entire hot sauce bar to do it! My favorite entree is the chicken flautas which are fried and crispy - all condiments on the side (including queso, guac and sour cream). My daughter loves the crispy tacos and the ground beef is well spiced. The rice and beans are no worse than most other places. Drink refills are free and the sweet tea is really good. Refills on chips are free, but you have to purchase an initial basket. Adding those on to 2 meals, with queso and drinks, is normally about $22 for us (2 people). I have never once had a bad meal here, so I am sure that is what keeps me coming back.

In an area with many options when it comes to dining out Tijuana Flats stands tell in the value and service category. It's a rare fast-food type option with quality burritos, quesadillas, etc at a reasonable price. You can be in and out in 15 minutes or stretch it into a relaxing lunch/dinner. Either way, there's value and the food is much better here than at competitors (Moe's, Chipotle, etc).

A great place to come grab some fresh mex style food! Can't go wrong with a burrito from this place! For you chili heads they have a hot sauce bar that is sure to demolish your colon!

My husband & I recently tried it for the first time. We had really friendly customer service. When we mentioned it was our first time, they gave us free chips & salsa, which I thought was awesome. We did wait a little long for our food, but it was delicious. I would definitely return.

I love Tijuana Flats!! This was one of the first restaurants I ate at after moving to Florida this past July. I usually get the Tijuana burrito and megajuana it (double meat and cheese). When the burrito comes is hot an fresh and weighs a ton! They really do pack a lot into the burrito. All the ingredients seem so fresh. You can tell when meat has been cooked and been sitting around. But not here. Each bite is dripping with the juice from the meat. The lettuce cheese and jalapeños compliment the burrito perfectly. With each meal I get the re-fried beans. The chips and quest are delicious. The quest is in the thinner side but that's great because it's spreads in the chip nicely. I've had their salsa and guacamole with their chips and they do not disappoint either! Tijuana also has about 30 different sauces to go with anything you eat. These sauces range from nice and sweet to super hot and spicy. I still have yet to try any of the sauces but you can see by the line at the sauce station that people love it. Another great thing about Tijuana Flats is the specials. They have a few, but my favorite is "Taco Tuesday's" on Tuesday day you can get 2 tacos ( Dos Taco's) and a drink for $5.99! It's such a good deal. Even at 8pm the place was packed and I took a seat outside. I think that's a testament to how good the food is. I highly recommend you try it!

Hello Yelpers. Yes, it's me again. So today I decided to take a late lunch to one of my favorite Mexican restaurants. After my last experience I decided to give them another try. Why? Well, for those of you who read my reviews you know that cleanliness and customer service are VERY IMPORTANT to me. Not only did I get an apology from the manager but I was given a 20.00 gift card to make up for the experience. Now that us customer service! !! So, first the customer service for today . This place never seems to let me down. The are always so friendly and welcoming. Got to love it! Now, the food. I placed my order to go at 2:20 and I got my food at 2:28. Not bad!! The only thing that went wrong was that I ordered my chimmychunga on white and the put it on wheat. No biggie. Wheat is healther. They did offer to make it over and for this I am grateful. Great job Tijuana syaff!! It is because of your genuine concern for your customers that I keep coming back.

Tijuana Flats is a far cry from authentic Mexican food. To me, that is a good thing. Sometimes I get a hankering for some good authentic Mexican food, but most of the time TJs will do just fine. I like how everything is always fresh. This place is good, and consistent. They're also extremely efficient with peak rush times. Everyone has always been friendly, with a greet as we come and go. I usually have the chimichanga, but sometimes I get the burrito. This time I got the choose dos, with a chimichanga and an enchilada. I get them wet, topped with queso. I've never had a complaint about the food. Also, I get chips and queso which, if you didn't know, is bottomless. Their sweet tea is always delicious. Some of the best sweet tea in Central Florida. They also have a hot sauce bar. The sauces range from sweet and tangy, too burn your face off. I like it hot! Real hot! I always get the hottest sauce they have. There so many, I can't remember any one individual sauce, but go and check it out, I don't think you'll be disappointed. Overall, it's a nice and relaxed atmosphere with music playing, and friendly service. The menu is pretty good, and reasonably priced. The food has always been good, and as mentioned before, I really don't have a complaint.

Tijuana flats is a good restaurant. I've had a few things off the menu, but my favorite is the chicken quesadilla. The chips and queso dip is also good, plus, it's unlimited. Sometimes I get it to-go. Their menu is good. Their ingredients are always fresh and tasty. They have a hot sauce bar that I really love. It starts with sweet, and ends with OMG hot. The ceiling decoration is cool. It looks like a bunch of individual works of art. There is an upbeat atmosphere that puts me in a good mood. The service has always been good. I like the food, and I'll be back for sure.

I'm always ordering take-out from these guys, so my food has traveled a bit before I've eaten it. I have almost always ordered the same thing: the double stacked cheesy crunchy taco special. I'm botching the name, I can't ever remember the whole name. And it isn't on the menu either, and you can't order it online. It's a hard taco filled with meat of your choice (I'm partial to the carnitas, dolly likes the ground beef) and other toppings, and then placed on a soft taco slathered with cheese. Yummy! It comes with a few chips or a small cup of rice-n-beans. ****side rant**** Try asking for a hard taco inside a soft taco at Moe's and they won't do it, it's not on their menu they say. I've even offered to pay extra, but was refused this delicious combination 3 times at the closest Moe's to me (Winthrop Town Center location).

Worst experience ever. The waitress "Ashley" snapped at me for not checking my order when the cashier did not type in my order correctly. I love Tijuana but damn, hire some respectful staff. It's not the customers fault if the cashier messes up!

I went to this restaurant for the first time last week. A server, (I WISH I could remember her name)!!, greeted us at the door, asked us if we had ever been there, explained how to order, than said here, have a seat and I will help you. She explained the menu, took our order. Was SO helpful and polite, I would go back just for her!! The food was delicious! Very fresh, very good. I wish I lived there and could go back again. Please build one in Southern California!

I come here about once a week and my experience has always been wonderful! This is the first Mexican place I have been to that I've enjoyed that's a fair medium between Taco Bell and authentic cuisine. The food quality is insanely better than any Taco Bell as you can tell Tijuana uses fresh ingredients and it's never too salty. I love that they have deals each week especially Taco Tuesday's and burrito meal deals on Thursdays. The sauce bar is so awesome, my stomach can't take much on heavily spicy things but I've found so many great sauces that have the right amount of kick in them! So if you're looking to not spend a whole lot of money but want some crazy good Mexican definitely check TF out!

Love the atmosphere here. Greeted immediately upon entering and the hostess was very friendly, explained the menu pretty well, and even made a bet with my husband. Good start. Here you walk up to the counter, order your meal, pay and collect your drink then find a place to sit. Someone brings out your food. Everyone was very nice, no complaints at all about the service. I ordered a two taco dinner. One was a crispy taco with beef, the other a soft taco with chicken and refried beans with an order of black beans and rice with it. The flavor was fine, think a bit better than taco bell, but nothing to knock my socks off. Both tacos could have been a bit more generous on the fillings. Rice and beans were fine. Since it was our first visit, they gave us an complimentary order of chips and salsa. I did not like this at all and did not eat them. Regular store bought chips and a really unpleasing salsa. Definitely would not pay for these. Prices were reasonable and they serve COKE products, hurray !! I would come back for a quick lunch, it was ok !

Stopped in for Taco Tuesday and waiting a half hour...damn! The tacos themselves were decent, not as good as other things I've had at TJ but definitely solid. The jalapenos seemed especially fresh. Was a bit of a wait as previously mentioned, but the staff was nice and even offered me a refill while I was waiting. Not much can be done on these deal nights, so it was good to see the staff treating people well. All told, I don't have a problem recommending TJ but it's not a place I have to go every week.

  • Katrina P.

When it comes to a chill atmosphere and a love for hot sauce, I would suggest TFs. However, I've had better food and would choose another restaurant when granted the opportunity. Taco Tuesday - this is the only night we come. You can get 2 t acos w/a drink and chips for $5. Food - to me, it's bland. I like white queso with authentic Mexican flavor myself Overall - the seating is very tight and there's so much going on you can barely hear your company talk

  • Katy S.

I love me some Tijuana Flats! Okay, so, really - a place where I can get a low fat burrito, smother in hot sauce, for like $8, and be in and out quickly = a dream come true for yours truly! I would highly recommend the beef chimichanga wet with queso if you are in the mood for something unhealthy and decadent. My go to healthy option is the steak burrito wet with salsa and power lite (fat free cheese and sour cream). My favorite part about this place is definitely the hot sauce bar. I love to smother my food in the hottest spices possible and they have a variety of options at TF. My personal favorite is the plan old "Smack My Ass and Call Me Sally" habanero hot sauce. For additional spice, order the jalapenos as they are fresh and pack a punch!

  • Xi M.

I'm a big fan of Tijuana Flats. I usually get the ground beef tacos or the fish tacos. I order the tacos with everything which means fresh jalapenos and black olives. They have a great hot sauce bar with everything from sweet and spicy to extreme heat. We've always had great food and great service at this location.

  • Jachima T.

I can say that I've never been disappointed by this particular Tijuana Flats location and you can't beat Taco Tuesdays either, especially if you're on a budget. We usually make the Flats choice when we're too lazy to cook dinner at home or just want to go out and get something quickly. As far as protein goes, the only thing I ever get is the ground beef (either in the taco salad or the tacos)--haven't tried any other stuff. I'm a creature of habit if I go to Tijuana Flats. Love putting some Smack My A$$ and Call me Sally hot sauce on anything I order. It's not really hot, but it is pretty sweet. Love the ice they put in their drinks too. The sweet tea is great! :)

Definitely one of the best places to get a quick Mexican meal that is delicious and won't leave you hungry. The online ordering is quick and easy and when I have dined in, I just love that they have servers who will bring out anything you may need after you place your order. Hot sauce afficianados will not be disappointed in their plentiful hot sauce bar.

This is a go to for my sister and I when we want some quick Tex Mex food. I've eaten at several of there locations but the Brandon one is my favorite. My go to is the Chimichangas but I had the Bangin Chicken Tostadas last night and I wasn't disappointed. Need to add some hot sauce from their hot sauce bar but otherwise it was delicious.

A big fan for a great family dinner. Our 2 year old loves the quesadillas, and her daddy loves the tacos with the hot sauce bar. Mom loves the tacos too! Friendly staff as well. We go monthly at a minimum.

I went here on a Friday night, the way the line goes is so efficient! We had fast and friendly service immediately. The seating area was packed but we were able to get someone to clean off a table real fast. When the food came it was delicious. We ordered the chicken flautas, chicken quesadillas and cookie dough flautas. All of which tasted great. Prices are very reasonable and potions are sized appropriately. The atmosphere is fun and friendly with a cool hip vibe to match the decor. I love the free refills and the huge hot sauce bar with tons of options. We will be back for sure! Can't get enough!

My wife and I eat here, I would say on average, twice a week at the very least. This is our favorite restaurant in the Brandon area. We've had almost everything and have never once been disappointed. The Tijuana Trio and the steak hard tacos are my absolute favorite. For my wife, the quesadillas. Even their salads are delicious! If you are looking for something on the healthier side they also have the option to go "Power Lite" which is lite sour cream and cheese and still the food is wonderful with this option. Before Brittany became manager the service was iffy and could be hard to get refills or much attention, especially when sitting outside. She has sure whipped her staff into shape, they are on the ball now. Courtney is one of the best waitresses they have and she is always friendly, patient, and responsive. We love sitting outside when it's not too hot and humid, the atmosphere is great inside as well. I'd say the only problem when sitting outside is that sometimes there are wasps and birds, they are typically pretty good at handling these things though and have never really been a bother. Most importantly the beer is always cold and refilled, they have great specials and the hot sauce bar is amazing.

Always a good time to be had at Tijuana Flats, and this one is no exception. It's a tex-mex place, with TJF's own spin on the classics. Chimichangas, burritos, tacos, and all that sort of stuff. The draw of the plates are that they're made to order with super-fresh ingredients, as anyone who has chomped into one of their jalapenos can attest to. They also have the hot sauce bar, ranging from the tasty sweet sauces for chips, to the raging inferno sauces you put on your burrito to impress your dumb buddies and piss off your gut. I find the mid-range heats and slightly higher have a nice variety of flavors, but there is no reason to have a sauce with a Scoville rating over 500,000 on your otherwise perfectly fine food. So fair warning. Friendly, pretty quick service that gets you your refills after you sit rounds out the good stuff here. There is limited outdoor seating too, if it's nice out. But just be careful, that parking lot is one of the worst in Brandon - which is saying a lot, since Brandon in general is an awful parking nightmare.

Food is fresh and delicious! We go here at least once a month for some fantabulous food. To start we get the chips and salsa. We then add smack my sweet ass and call me sally hot sauce to it. It doesn't add heat but sweetens up the salsa.= while adding flavor. We normally stick to the Norrito bowls with blackened chicken. Drizzle a little Chicken S**t hot sauce on it and its gone within a couple minutes. Always filling, fiancé never finishes hers (more for me!!!). The staff are usually pretty good at getting around to refill your drinks. sometimes when they are busy you have to walk up but that is rare. Definitely a good place to get you fill of American Mexican food.

Tijuana Flats is one of my husband's favorite spots for lunch so when we are in Brandon we often go here. I like that they have a Light Menu, whole wheat options, and use hormone free meats. I can also tell that their sour cream is REAL sour cream and a little of that goes a long way. Their chicken is good, white meat and is never fatty. I do appreciate the seasoning they put on it. I do not enjoy their always cold chips with sporadic seasoning...some chips have no salt and pepper and the others are covered with it. I usually ask for them to just leave them off. I'm a fan of their chicken and black bean burrito or quesadilla and the husband likes their chicken soft tacos. Is this mostly stuff you could make at home? Yes. But it is good for on the go and is consistently good quality food at a reasonable price. Also, they do have good service as someone always greats you when you come in, hands you a menu and offers suggestions if you want them. They also have people walking around to refill drinks, remove trays etc. This location is usually busy but is also clean.

Some awesome food, with excellent service. Never had a bad experience here. The burritos are all i have had but they are delicious. I would recommend this place to anyone who is a fan of mexican food. They have a huge variety of entrees and toppings. Went the other day and the place was packed however, we still ordered and got our food within 15 minutes. And still we were asked about 15 times in the hour we were there if we needed a refill. Excellent service even when busy.

Giving this place three stars is generous but we're in Brandon Florida so you have to give some slack. If you go here I think you should try the queso with beef deep. It's cheesy goodness and there's free refills for $4. Nice. The bangin chicken burrito (their words, not mine) said crispy chicken but what they should have said was chicken nuggets cause that's what it was. It was one of their "signature" items and I felt like throwing up. They have a ton of sauces but I tried a few and seriously not worth your time. There's some specials but really, the queso dip has to be the best thing. The rest of the menu is standard fast food Americanized Mexican so don't expect much. If you're near and that's what you want, go for it. But I hear five guys burgers are good.

The best sauce collection I've ever seen. Can't remember the night but one night is free beer with dinner, nice gift.

I wanted to rate it 3 1/2, but since I had to round down or up, I went up... Having said that, TJ Flats is solid Mexican food. Its burritos are filled up with the traditional ingredients - meat, rice, beans, sour cream, cheese, and even jalapenos. And for those who like to spice up their food, TJ Flats has an extensive sauce bar to choose from. Also, the wait-staff is super friendly, from the minute we walked into the restaurant until we finished our dinner, the staff checked in on us about 6 different times. Overall, TJ Flats hits the spot!

While this isn't necessarily my favorite tex-Mex food, their hot sauce bar is pretty awesome. I'll stop in every once and a while for a quesadilla, which I could easily make at home, but their sauces definitely make it worth it to eat out. They do have really good tacos, and I like to get that with a side of beans (mix of black and refried) and rice.

T-Flats might have the best chips & salsa out there. They also have an unreal selection of hot sauces - mild to wild. Their Norrito Bowls are outstanding and give you way more food than a comparable item at competitors Chipotle or Moe's. I know it's probably not obvious, but you should leave a tip for the hard working girls getting you refills and whatnot.

Went on a Sunday afternoon with 6 friends for lunch. The service was so quick within 5 minutes of sitting down we all had our food. The manager was also out and about helping customers asking if he could get us anything. Had two blackened chicken tacos that we're delicious. Always a good atmosphere and will definitely go back to again.

I've been here about a million times and they have never messed up my order - definitely worth something in my book!! They actually do Nachos correctly - the chips are the right combination of salty and crispy and the cheese is melted just so... Reliable for good food, fast drink refills, overwhelming noise and an excellent hot sauce bar.

I'm a fan. It's inexpensive, you don't have to wait to be seated and you can sit outside on a nice day.

I always love T-Flats. The hot sauce bar is fantastic, and the food never disappoints. Their chips are soo awesome, and it is always a highlight. I always get 2 tacos with blackened chicken, without fail. The portions are big, and the service is quick. Definitely a winning combination.

I'm not sure what's going on at TF's. I hadn't been in the restaurant for about 4-6 months. Prior to that I was a huge fan and was never disappointed. Went in last night to get 3 meals to go. First disappointment, they have changed the menu completely. The girl that took our order couldn't hear us and we couldn't hear her because the music is soooooo LOOOOUUUUDDDD. I watched 1 of the cooks making our food shake hands with one of the cooks getting off work...gloved food hand shaking bare hand that he had just wiped his nose with. Nice guys! There seems to be lots of girls working there, but all they do is drink sodas & text behind the counter. Be careful if you have on heels, the concrete floor is so greasy & slick, it's a hazard. Then there was the food.....oh my. Taco salad had mostly the white/yellow end of romaine lettuce (I picked most of this out). Guacamole had gone way south...it was dark, blackish green, so I guess they thought it was fine to serve. After 2 alka seltzers last night, my husband and I still aren't feeling right. So, there you have it.

Being new to the area, I walked into Tijuana Flats on a lark. The restaurant is clean and somewhat small. The patio area was also clean and well suited for the great weather here. The service was fast and friendly. You really can't ask for much better from a fast food restaurant. The order was repeated back to me, my change was counted back and the cashier was all smiles. The thing which makes me give Tijuana Flats a low ranking is the quality of the food. I'm a foodie and have high expectations, even for fast food. The food was okay, but Tijuana Flats seems to make it's mark by offering a wide variety of sauces/salsas for their food. This is great, if that's your thing. For me, a sauce is a compliment, and a subtle one at that, to the flavor of the meal. Great flavor is acquired during the cooking process and not added as an after thought. Tijuana Flat's model is based on those who enjoy adding their own flavor to the meal.

Ok I was not impressed by any of the food! Nice hot sauce bar But wears the salsa and pico? Taco salad was below average and chicken was cooked in a red hot sauce Maybe they should tell that to the patrons who don't care for spicy! They were very nice and kept checking our table for drink refills! Also music was rather loud for a lunch crowd! Next!

I have been a huge t flats fan since I went to college in Tampa. I don't know if they changed their ingredients or it is just this location, but the food was not what it used to be. They skimped on the ingredients in the taco salad and had to ask for more, which they did bring free of charge. The chimichangas were really crispy, and no meat except for in the middle. I will say the dessert dish with the cookie dough hasn't changed and is still 5 stars.

I was debating where to get dinner and somehow ended up at Tijuana Flats on Causeway one night. I ordered a burrito with some nachos and ended up waiting almost an hour for my food. That is simply ridiculous - if you order takeout you clearly do not have the time to sit around or you would simply grab a table and dine-in (yet I saw every table get their food faster than my order came out). The burrito and chips were decent, but not worth all the effort. If you're going to do a quick Mexican hit just go to Taco Bell or Moe's - and if you're willing to wait this long just head over to Luna's on Bloomingdale and have a proper Mexican meal.

So many of my friends rave about Tijuana Flats and how great they are. But I've dined at this location twice and have left a bit underwhelmed both times in category of taste and kitchen service. Although ordering at the counter with friendly staff, both times we waited quite a while for our food. On one occasion, I had plenty of time for two refills, which were delivered prompty, and to explore the sauce bar and taste test it thoroughly. The restaurant was half empty. The sauce bar is A+. I love the variety and the comical names/pictures for each flavor. Meal wise, I was not bowled over with either of my dishes both times I've eaten here. I've tried the enchiladas both times with different meats. The food was fresh, portions big, and my orders were correct, but the taste was just a little too bland and extremely salty. I used a lot of sauce to give my dish the flavor I was expecting. The sauce bar earned the third star, otherwise, I'd have to leave it at 2.

Ok first time here. I loved the decor. The servers were friendly and attentive. The chips and salsa were exactly that. I had the beef and bean burrito wet. The portion was huge and very tasty. The atmosphere seemed very hip to this ole "hillbilly". Many different types of customers and the place had a buzz for a late lunch on a Saturday. I will return and need to do a tasting of the hot sauces.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
