Just yum. Hidden in the corner of the plaza next to Wendys... well worth looking for. Great local art available for purchase. Ice cream is always delicious, awesome place to stop after dinner :)

Where has this place been all my life?? When you first walk in the smell of freshly baked waffle cones are so intriguing. The walls are decorated in original art and the space is filled with mismatched furniture which adds a retro hipster flair. Now for the good stuff; the flavors are untraditional but OMG good! I tried "Adult Cotton Candy" and sad to say I went back the same day for two more scoops! I also took the Euro trash to go! The customer service was awesome! I was addressed by my first name and was provided fast service! This will be my new weekend spot and now I'm on a mission to find a gym!

Best ice cream and sorbet, hands down the best. This place will make the weird combinations taste delicious. Today is sweet corn ice cream and lychee sorbet. Tomorrow it might be sriracha ice cream. They are open late and have a great atmosphere.

Um, yes, hell yes! Great little eclectic spot right on 60. I tried Porky's Delight because, well, I like bacon and I like ice cream. So, why not? It was interestingly good. I also tried the Eurotrash which was quite tasty, too. However, the winner was one of the specials; white chocolate and macadamia nuts and some other fantasticness that I cannot remember. Oh. My. Goodness. So good. I hope it moves from the "specials" to the "all the time"! Speedy friendly service to boot.

My girlfriend Elizabeth's Mom and brother told us about this place as soon as we got to Tampa on our last visit. It sounded right up my alley, so I was looking forward to trying it. When we came in, the first thing I noticed was that the decor was that of a hipster coffee shop. There was art for sale on the walls, and lots of hipster looking people on couches. I'm not a huge fan of that culture to be honest. However, seeing hipsters somewhere is usually a good sign. They seem to have good taste when it comes to food! I tried every single flavor until I could tell that I was making the worker uncomfortable. (I probably tried 10 different flavors.) I settled on chocolate habanero and peanut butter in a waffle cone bowl. * I figured that this would be a good combo, and my god.... it was probably the best ice cream I've ever had. The chocolate habanero, which I really only got because it sounded interesting, was actually pretty awesome. The peanut butter flavored ice cream will probably stick with me as a life long memory. *A little background on my decision to try this flavor. So, I have this rule that if something sounds like a really weird combination of things, it's probably good. I mean, you can't exactly combine to random things if people didn't LOVE the end result. They would have to take it off the menu. I've found this to be an excellent rule of thumb for trying new things.

Dang! This might be my new favorite ice cream spot. Too bad it's 4 hours away :(. My mom and brother have been raving about this place for a while, so I knew we had to try it on my next visit up to Brandon/Valrico. My mom told me about all of the crazy eclectic flavors on the menu. All of them sounded right up my alley. The Yelp reviews and pictures that I saw intrigued me even more. I tried so many flavors on my first visit to The Revolution Ice Cream Co. Each flavor was insanely delicious! I ended up settling on a scoop of Euro Trash and a scoop of Drunken Brownies. Euro Trash is Nutella ice cream with biscoff cookie crumbles mixed in. It was beyond amazing! Any Nutella fan has to order this flavor! Drunken Brownies is chardonnay caramel ice cream with brownie bits mixed in. Golllllyyy was that amazing! Seriously my favorite flavor of ice cream ever. It honestly tasted like a big warm, melty brownie with a scoop of the best vanilla ever on top. No idea how they got it to taste that good. My little brother ordered Salted Caramel S'mores (salted caramel ice cream with a marshmallow ribbon and chunks of fudge covered graham crackers mixed in) and Eurotrash. I tried his S'mores ice cream and it was delish. My mom got her favorite flavor The Seaward (salted caramel, coffee, cinnamon and cardamom) and Ch2Hn (Chocolate Habanero). Both flavors were very unique. My boyfriend ordered What's up Nutter Fudger (chocolate peanut butter ice cream with nutter bar chunks mixed in) and Chocolate Habanero. Oh man was What's up Nutter Fudger amazing!! The bf said it's the best peanut butter/chocolate ice cream he's ever had in his life. This place was too amazing. I cannot wait until my next visit!!

Yummylicious ice cream shop! Great flavor selection and such a nice cozy atmosphere. Nice artwork on the walls. I tried E.T. - Reese pieces ice cream on a waffle bowl. The ice cream was just right and the waffle was even tastier. My friend had the Chicken & Waffles shake and loved it. Lots of unique flavors offered (blueberry muffin top, drunken brownies, eurotrash, etc.) and some made just for adults, woohoo! Looking forward to my next trip to Brandon so I can try another flavor.

Five stars because their newest flavor is Netflix and Chill (kettle corn and butterfinger). See what they did there...

Rock solid and creative ice cream and sorbet. Proprietor is friendly and place is a hip oasis barely aimed at children. Needs better coffee options.

WOW!! Coolest retro Indie ice cream shop I have ever been inside of. With flavors like Bacon, Toffee Moonshine, Nutella, and Chicken and Waffles what's not to love There's something for everyone. I had a scoop of the blueberry muffin. It was SOOOO TASTY ... Had frozen fresh blueberries in it ...topped with muffin crumbles. We had the pleasure of conversing with the store manager. She was so nice and helpful. We also had nice conversation with the son of the owner of the shop. This place is s 10/10!! Completely unique. Listening to the Rolling Stones ... Painted it black while enjoying the local art for sale and one of a kind ice cream flavors. This place is unbelievably cool! Highly recommend.

  • Melissa M.

Where do I start? The IceCream is phenomenal of course. We had blueberry muffin top, drunken brownie, best damn vanilla... All the right balance of flavor and perfectly creamy and rich. I saw that they have "adult flavors" that they ID for which is super interesting, but they were out when I went. Next time! Since it's all been said about the IceCream, how about the shop itself? They sell art by local artists (found all over the walls). The furniture / seating looks to be found or repurposed (really cool) and they play good music! Another cool thing - my son asked for a sugar cone and was told they don't have them as they don't sell anything they don't make. I have been to fancy overpriced cake and IceCream shops and watched them dump processed syrup or scoop into nasty cones - it seems backwards. Pretty near they don't do that here and it's really reasonably priced. They do make waffle bowls if you want the taste of the cone. Enjoy

Great Shakes that really Rock!!! Not a chain and filled with local ate. Cool find for ice cream!

  • Britt B.

Best ice cream place in Brandon. The atmosphere is awesome, the ice cream is ever changing and new flavors are always amazing. Their waffle bowls are homemade and freaking delicious, I order one every chance that I get.

I wasted nearly 45 minutes of my life driving out to this place to be told that they were out of waffle bowls (which she started to make after bringing me my ice cream) & pay about $12.00 for average ice cream. Don't get me wrong it was good but no where near extraordinary. It may have taken her 5 minutes to make a waffle bowl so why didn't she offer to make me one. I would have been willing to wait since I drove all that way. I was bummed. I had the banana pudding (it would have been better with more cookies) & nutter fudger (they failed to put a piece of nutter butter on top...we were totally cheated). Again, both were good but not worth the drive or hefty price. My husband said he's had better store bought Ben & Jerry's. If you don't live near Brandon, don't make a special trip for this place. But it's worth a try if you're in the area. They sell artwork, too.

Simply the best! Extremely thoughtful flavors, a staff that is passionate about their craft - only quality ingredients. Art in the food and on the walls. Best ice cream in FL!!!

  • Shellie D.

I like the ice cream, however, I think the prices are a bit high. They don't have mix-ins and their waffle bowls are more like cookie bowls. The toppings that they do have... welp... they are pretty stingy with them. The ice cream flavors are pretty good. Seaward and Dirty Euro were tasty. And I really liked their chocolate ice cream. The décor is a flop. I guess unfinished walls and mitch-matched furniture is a thing now. But I am not sure how well the décor matches the product. The dark lighting and distressed décor almost gave me the impression that this place wasn't very clean. Because of that, I watched the workers very closely to make sure they had good hygiene. What I noticed was that they washed the scooper before using it and handled the food items with gloves on. So that was a relief! I would come here again, but it wouldn't be my first choice. Cold Stone tops them hands down.

  • Elena M.

Best local ice cream spot! Favorite is the Eurotrash (Nutella) & Banana pudding My kids tried the cotton candy flavor and it was delicious and not disgustingly sweet, the Pocky sundae was so cute and fun! food truck service was great but their location on SR60 is fun and welcoming..

  • Tiffany H.

Who loves unusual ice cream flavors? This girl loves unusual ice cream flavors! Chocolate is not my thing. This place has a fair number of not chocolate options... Like ghost pepper vanilla. Or cinnamon roll (which is what I had) and blueberry muffin tops (which I sampled and didn't win my love like the bun...). The shop is a little funky on the inside and the gent scooping for me that was was very friendly and generous with the samples. If I wasn't watching my junk food/sweets consumption I would definitely stop here more often. Yum!

  • Luke B.

We had the strawberry swirl. I wish it tasted as cool as the place looks! Two scoops and all I tasted was vanilla. It wasn't bad for vanilla. But where's the strawberry? I had such high hopes. And $6.75 for two scoops and whip cream and a cherry is steep too. But the atmosphere makes up for some of it. It's a cool place. I'll return to hopefully better flavors!

  • Joshua S.

Walking into Revolution, you immediately get the sense that they are trying very hard to be different than cold stone, marble slab, etc both by the eclectic shabby 'chic' decor and the ice cream flavors. And thank goodness for that! I have to say, the flavors overall are inventive and tasty, calling on both nostalgia (banana pudding, vanilla, etc) and potent updated tastes (bacon, drunken brownie, etc). But beyond the taste and interesting decor, the ice cream in texture and technique missed the mark. In each flavor that we tried, ice crystals were pandemic. I'm guessing this is due to either an issue in production or an issue in storage. As a result of this, most ice cream aficionados may be disappointed in the quality of the product. But don't let that stop you! I still recommend this place, just with the above reservations. Enjoy!

This is an amazing ice cream spot like no other. It is a very trendy dive that also sells local artwork. The ice cream is phenomenal and changes almost weekly. My favorite that stays on the menu is the drunken brownie: Chardonnay ice cream with brownie chunks. I have tried a crazy amount of their odd mixtures, and NOTHING disappoints. The chicken and waffles, PB&J and Girl Scout mixtures have been my favorite creations. The people who work there are always friendly and talk to you like you belong, like you are a friend. The atmosphere is kid-friendly and very home-y with sofas and chairs to sit at. Everyone should go to Revolution Ice Cream. It is now a staple I bring out of town friends to!

  • Bernadette S.

Delicious ice cream and super friendly staff. They make their ice cream in house as well. We decided with Eurotrash (nutella with biscoff cookies) and Cinnamon Toast Crunch. So freaking yummy! They are family owned and also give back to the community.

  • Autumn S.

Our friends took us here the other night and I have to say I was rather impressed!! I wish we had something like this in Orlando :) The ice cream flavors are so unique and fresh made at their store. This month is all about cereal flavors and the Smack one is SOOOOO good! It seriously tastes JUST LIKE the ice cream. I am soooo over frozen yogurt places coming up all over the place that it was a nice change to have an ice cream place willing to get creative. I will definitely come back on my next visit!

  • Miranda V.

I absolutely love this place, it reminds me of home as if it were plucked right out of San Francisco (or Seattle or Portland). All of the ice cream is great, here are the ones I've had: Blueberry muffin top Chocolate shock That's my jam (strawberry) They make all of their ice cream in house and only sell it in a cup or waffle bowl; which is the only con of "The Rev" because sometime I just really want a cone! There's art for sale that lines the wall, funky seating and board games to play so it makes for a nice addition to a date or family spot that will entertain the kids. There's even a small play area for 3/4-7/8 year olds with a chalkboard wall and toys. All in all, it's a great family run business so stop by and support by getting some delicious dessert...any time of day!

Make sure to Clairify you want it to go or you'll end up with a soggy waffle bowl and rude customer service.

Some of the most amazing ice cream I've ever tasted. Had the drunken brownie that has Chardonnay in it. It was unbelievable!! We will be back soon!

  • Jason K.

Excellent and unique ice cream! Everything about the place is unique. One of a kind for sure. Their decoration is a hodgepodge of tables, chairs, booths and couches. Local artwork, board games and kids toys. Their Euro Trash Nutella flavored ice cream was my favorite after trying their sampler which is a great way to try up to 6 of their flavors. Come hungry!

  • Gwendolyn F.

I love ice cream!! This place was great. The ice cream was creamy and had fantastic flavor. I got the Nutella with biscoff cookies. It was really good and it didn't need extra toppings or fluff. The ice cream speaks for itself. I loved the flavor choices they have and the cute names they gave them. The kids had a good time. We played some games and had a nice relaxing time. The atmosphere is very inviting. You feel like you're hanging out at a friends house. Will definitely be back!

Eclectic flavors & a very down to earth atmosphere. I tried the drunken brownie, it was amazing chardonnay caramel ice cream w/ real brownie chunks inside. Looking forward to coming back to try more flavors

About a year after I became vegan I read an article in the Tampa Bay Times about this upstart local ice cream shop with a commie-hipster vibe. The shop was called Revolution Ice Cream Company and their schtick was to make homemade ice cream in the funkiest flavors possible. Instead of your typical vanilla, chocolate, strawberry and moose tracks the Revolution Ice Cream Company's constantly rotating menu (12 flavors at a time) treats customers to sweet treats such as Chocolate Habanero, Porky's Delight (okay there is a bit of vanilla...with bacon), drunken brownie (chardonnay caramel ice cream with brownie bits), Chocolate Shock (chocolate ice cream, chocolate fudge, brownie debris and chocolate chips), what's up nutter fudger (chocolate base with crunchy peanut butter and peanut butter wafers), pump up the yam and blueberry muffin tops (blueberry streusel crumbles on top). I couldn't help but feel disappointed. Why hadn't I heard of this place sooner? Why hadn't I spent my last few hours of eating dairy there, shotgunning ice cream cones until I worked myself into a lactose style stupor? I was in too deep to back out, even for a key lime pie ice cream. Still, I wanted to check the place out and see what all the fuss was about. J-Fur does dairy so I figured I could at least live vicariously through her. The Revolution Ice Cream Company is located on Brandon Boulevard in, you guessed it, Brandon. It is a bit out of the way for us to go there (and believe me, nobody accidentally goes to Brandon). So for months I sat on this idea that next time I was in Brandon I would stop by Revolution and watch J-Fur eat ice cream. Right before the holiday we finally got our chance. Revolution sits inconspicuously on the inside corner of the Brandon Retail and Office Center (220 W. Brandon Blvd). It is located right beside one of those non-affiliated cell phone shops that I'm surprised get any business. We entered, and were greeted by store owner Bill Workman and his wife Leslee. It is a pretty cool feeling to enter a shop and be served by the masterminds behind the whole operation. They started with J-Fur. She is a chocolate freak and there many chocolate offerings made her choice difficult. After sampling basically everything she settled on the drunken brownie. Once she was satisfied, Bill turned his attention to me. I shook my head no thanks. But as I was reaching for my card I noticed something called the Caramel Apple Pie Granita on the menu. Making conversation I asked, "What's a granita?" Bill explained that it was simply an apple cider base that had been turned into bits of ice shavings. It was dairy free because he has come into contact with a lot of people that can't do dairy and he wanted to give them an option too. He went on to say that they usually try to have one dairy free version at all times. I stopped him at this point by blurting out, "Hold on now, backup a second. Did you say dairy free? I'll have one of those." Bill poured warm caramel (which I forgot to check on as far as the dairy content goes...most caramels have butter in them so most likely this one did as well) on the bottom of a bowl. He placed a few scoops of the granita over top of the caramel. Then he topped it all off with a bunch more. The warmth of the caramel mixed with the coolness of the ice shavings was an amazing combination. I was pleasantly surprised with the granita. It had nice flavor. I think it would be tasty even without the caramel (though you'd be missing out on the warm/cold dichotomy). The ice shavings weren't what I envisioned. They were closer to ice cream than snow cones or slushies. That was perfect because I am not a fan of either of those. J-Fur wasn't as enthused with her ice cream. She liked it alright. Taste wise it was nice and chocolatey and all the add-ins made for a fun time. But her sensitive palate and texture detector noticed some ice crystals in her ice cream. They were slight and most people without her sensitivities probably wouldn't notice. But for her, it took a place that quite possibly could be amazing and made it average. She'd rather go to Bruster's or Massey's. That's cool with me, I'll just leave her in the car next time I go back. Which will be as soon as the Caramel Apple Pie Granita returns to the menu.

Great homemade ice cream. It's hard to find good places that make real ice cream, friendly people and great prices! They have a new customer

BEST ICE CREAM EVER! The owner of the store makes his own ice cream and has the coolest names for them too! He is also the person that attended me when i went there and he was the nicest dude ever! Incredible flavors! Awesome hangout spot with the coolest art and enviornment. Definitely will recommend this place to all my friends and family

My son loves the hipster vibe, I love getting an "adult" ice cream. Hands down, the best ice cream in the area.

Sweet mother on a crutch YEAH!!! This place was soooo good!! The ice cream flavors were crazy and it was so fresh. My husband had the salted caramel and some delightful toffee flavor and I had lemon. But there are more interesting flavors to try indeed.. We played it safe! But if we go back we are getting a little cray cray that's for sure!! I wish they had this place in the northeast!!!

I am enjoying the coconut ice cream. Blueberry cheesecake and cookie dough are a a hit with my girls. The staff are friendly. Highly recommend that you stop in.

This place is super cool, nothing like anything we have in Brandon. Atmosphere is very laid back cool decor all over the walls. The people that work here are super chill and friendly. They also carry adult ice cream with alcohol in it. You must be 21 to order. Unfortunately they were sold out of those when we came.so I went with the shrunken brownie which was rich a delicious. All the ice cream is made in house. Highly recommend it if you have a sweet tooth!

Great fun flavored ice cream. Came here on the fly and had my sons first taste of ice cream, he really enjoyed the blueberry ice cream. If your in Brandon and want ice cream you need to come by.

As I sat eating some very good strawberry ice cream, I said to my husband "I miss San Francisco". He just chuckled and said" well, look around". Not sure what I liked better, the ice cream or the atmosphere. This small, eclectic, funky ice cream shop definitely had the feel of Haight - Ashbury. And I love it!! Local artists artwork cover the walls, and New Age music keeps you company. But I digress!!! The ice cream is why we came here. The owner was very friendly and offered us samples to taste. I HAD to try Porkys Delight, an awesome vanilla ice cream with bacon brittle. Very tasty! He told his process for making his strawberry jam ice cream and I was sold. I asked if he ever made an ice cream with maple flavor (my fav) and he told me about his Chicken & Waffle with maple ice cream... OMG, I am so there when he makes that flavor. Ummmm, I guess I recommend this place wholeheartedly !

Went here for a little after dinner desert and was not disappointed. I got the peanut butter crunch cheesecake ice cream and it was tasty. The employees were very helpful in letting you sample the ice cream and letting you know which is more popular. Would definitely recommend if you like to try unique ice creams.

I love a local family owned place, but the Rev is even sweeter since the ice cream is great! This place has so many creatively named and unique flavors and toppings, including "adult" flavors for those who need to combine their dessert with an after dinner drink. The kitsch decor is a nice touch along with all the local artwork (for sale) on the walls. Stopped in on a Friday night and spent about 10 minutes trying to make my decision from the smorgasbord of choices. Went with chocolate Habanero and EuroTrash (nutella with my favorite cookies biscoff pieces!). The chocolate jalapeno was the biggest surprise - sweet with the heat on the end. Definitely a treat! TIP: Sign up for the text messages to stay up to date with their rotating menu of flavors and deals!

Love love love!!! I'm so glad a living social deal popped up for this little hole in the wall ice cream parlor or I would have never ventured out to Brandon for one of the most amazing and unique ice cream. Here you're able to let your taste buds go wild as if you're tripping over milk dust. From bacon bits mixed into your creamy vanilla ice cream to spicy chocolate habanero kickers. It just works here. If the sweet scent of heavenly goodness doesn't pull you in I'm sure the unique twist on familiar flavors should. Grab a bowl or waffle and lick away!

  • Enrico M.

Awesome all around. Small batches, very creative and innovative flavors. Favorites are the bacon, chocolate habanero, and the occasional munchies, and the cinnamon toast crunch (tastes just like the milk at the bottom of the cereal bowl!)

Very tasty Ice cream and interesting combination of flavors. Clearly, these folks are dedicated to making great ice cream and don't take themselves too seriously. Located deep in Brandon which makes it quite the trek from South Tampa but if you'rein the area... Funky design of the location and very kid friendly. Tummy friendly too!

Cute artsy place to grab a unique scoop of ice cream! Went here w/ a group of friends and we all loved what we got. I had blueberry muffin top and hubs had vanilla praline carmel. Both were fantastic!

My ice cream world has been rocked and will never be the same. No more will I be thrilled by vanilla, chocolate, butter pecan, rocky road, chunky monkey or even cherry Garcia. I have seen the promised land and it is called Strawberry Jam, Cherry Cordial Stout, Banana Pudding and all the other deliciousness served up by Revolution Ice Cream. All made right on the premises it combines old fashion goodness with brave new world flavors. Rock your world!

  • Todd F.

I must have been at the wrong place! the ice cream cone I had cost about $6 for a 2 scoop sugar cone(way overpriced), $13 a quart and breyers from the store would have been better and cheaper! I was wanting maple walnut, but that wasn't on the list. infact, the sign over the counter only had about 15 flavors on it, that's it ! 2 broke girls run the place, with one ice machine, that's it ! my wife wasn't impressed either, a friend told her about it. I want some unique flavors like corn on the cob, or some tropical flavors, none to be had here! the ice cream was not rich and thick, either. a good shop uses 16% fat to make ice cream, this sure wasn't ! good luck, I hate to speak poorly of a shop, but u don't have to look very hard to beat the one I was at on SR60 across the street from Wendy's!

This is not your normal ice cream shop one look at the menu and you realize the rev is on another level of awesome. My personal favorite is the banana pudding milkshake but if it's your first time you have to try the bacon flavor or the blueberry muffin top when it's available pump up the yam is heaven. The owners are very friendly folks and cool as all beware he may be wearing a kilt or crazy socks or both. Very chill environment to hang out and enjoy your ice cream. kids can draw on the chalk wall and everyone can check out the local art on display for sale. Check it out you will not be disappointed and be sure to sign up for the reward program because you will be back and you can get texted with all the new and exciting flavors

Great ice cream with creative flavors. -1 star for the decor. I enjoyed the music but the furniture and the artwork reminded me of a frat house meets garage sale. I will be back but will probably get it togo

Love this place! The drunken brownie is a fave of mine, but recently I got the EuroTrash (biscoff and Nutella) and I'm ADDICTED! I also love the "That's my Jam" strawberry jam ice cream! I normally don't care for strawberry, but this is definitely a favorite now! Great place, awesome atmosphere, friendly owners!

My wife and I go here when we want quality ice cream at a great price. The portions are nice and the flavors are delicious. The quality of the ice cream is superb, so soft and creamy. Would recommend to friends and will continue to come here. We are apart of the VIP thing where they text you new flavors, it's really cool.

Tucked away in the corner of a plaza in Brandon, this place offers some interesting twists on traditional ice cream. - Beauregarde's Blueberry Muffin Tops is packed with that blueberry flavor, and the crunchy streusel on top is a nice addition. - Porky's Delight is a definite must. The bacon brittle is pretty awesome. - Key Lime Pie was missing a little bit of the lime flavor, so I guess this wasn't my favorite. All in all, a laid back place to hang out and have some ice cream. I'd probably come back if I was in the neighborhood.

We found this place due to a food blog written by our old CM, Colin, and we happened to be going to Brandon to meet some friends for dinner. Located in a non descript shopping center on Hwy 60, Revolution Ice Cream is a cool, inviting shop that had the feel of a local coffee shop. The owners were behind the counter scooping ice cream and were very happy to offer samples. Patrick ordered the waffle bowl with nutter fudger and I ordered a kid sized scoop of vanill praline. Both were good, but not phenomenal, and a little pricey ($9). The shop does offer some interesting flavors. Blueberry muffin, chocolate habanero, key like pie, sweet potato casserole, and banana pudding. Would I return? Yes if I was in the area but I wouldn't make a special trip. It is a welcoming addition to Brandon, which is a Mecca for chain restaurants/ ice cream shops.

Omgosshhh, YUM! My son and I visited today and I had the Habanero Chocolate and The Seward, which includes salted caramel, coffee, cinnamon and cardamon. Great flavors, but beware of the Habanero Chocolate, it WILL have ur throat on fire! In fact, it over powered the other flavor, so I really couldn't enjoy The Seward. Oh well, I'll know next time. I will definitely return!

We were actually looking for dinner options when we stumbled across this gem on Yelp. The crazy flavors are what drew us in. Bacon?! Chocolate habanero?! Curry?! So that night, we decided to eat dessert before dinner since it was almost closing time. Well, we could have had dinner as ice cream! Yam + bacon = Thanksgiving dinner, according to the lady behind the counter. The curry REALLY tasted like curry! I was so weirded out, but it was so good! Same with the bacon. It's straight up bacon! Ask to try all of them, and he'll be glad to serve you up! The newest flavor is the owner's blueberry muffin. Goodness gracious! Delicious! Sweet blueberry with those sugar crumbles on top, just like what you get on muffins. Even though we finally decided on 3 sweet flavors (blueberry, yam, and chocolate shock), you could have had like a 3 course meal. He brought Willy Wonka to life! ...except this is ice cream instead of a piece of gum. And this time, the blueberry dessert won't cause you to blow up into a blueberry. Perfect!

Went here yesterday after a late lunch. I've read all the great reviews from Yelp in the past and have always meant to try it. The place was exactly everything the reviewers said it was. This is definitely not your ordinary ice cream place neither are the choices of flavors. The guy was kind enough to let us try a few different flavors. In the end we stuck with the most ordinary choice: 2 of the chocolate mixtures they had.

Another visit to The Rev resulting in another food coma in the bag! After dinner we just HAD to go get ice cream. (This is the only place to go get ice cream in our book) Yet again a super friendly chat with the wifey owner while she whipped up some fresh waffle cone bowls, perfuming my hair & clothes with that warm cinnamony scent! Describing the new flavors this month. It's fair food month & they're deep frying snack foods to add atop your ice cream (as if it needed anymore deliciousness) So my choices were Chocolate Shock & Thats my Jam, skipping the fried goodness tonight. The beau however goes for Praline Ice cream topped with none other than a deep fried Crispy Creme donut. Yeah, did I mention the food coma? If you haven't tried this place you're seriously missing out!

Every time I go I try something different but my favorites are the Chocolate Habanaro and the Drunken Monkey. So good, worth a little sinful indulgences.

There is nothing vanilla about this specialty ice cream shop, despite the fact they do have that particular flavor on their menu (along with the boast it will be "The best dang vanilla you've ever had in your whole life"). Nestled within a nondescript retail center overlooking Brandon Boulevard, there's no clue that just inside, ice cream flavors from a wildly creative mind await. Of course, offering Chocolate Habanera and successfully making it appeal to ice cream aficionados requires more skill than simply adding hot peppers to a creamy, frozen concoction. Think that flavor seems a bit extreme? How about Chicken & Waffles or Porky's Delight featuring both bits of bacon and chunks of bacon brittle. The locally owned business began in 2013 when Bill Workman decided to turn his hobby into his livelihood along with the help of his wife Leslee, who is a graphic designer. Recently expanded freezer space now enables the couple to stock up to 50 flavors at a time which will make for a difficult decision for anyone ordering. Currently the only other place to purchase Revolution is Cupcake Cache (the agreement is reciprocal), a premium cupcake producer and purveyor located on East Busch Boulevard.

I love this place and I will always crave it when I drive past. I have 2 places I go to for ice cream. Revolution is where I go for a something unique and experimental. I go there to chill in a cool (double-pun) atmosphere... Lots of art, lots of fun, tons of personality. I don't really have a favorite flavor yet... I'm still trying them all. *If you want to know my other favorite, look at my other reviews or just ask me*

It's about time that an independent homemade ice cream shop opened up in the Brandon area. Up in New England every town has one or more mom-n-pop seasonal places that make it themselves and pile the cones high! Revolution could compete with some of those places, but not all of them. The offerings are darn tasty, but they need a wider variety and the portions could be bigger for the price. The location could be better, but again that comes with being a start up. Their presence will either help to transform this section of Brandon Blvd., or they will move to a better spot when the business grows. I am hoping for the latter. One issue is grittiness ... a couple of flavors could be smoother. This is likely due to how they mix in the extras. A recommendation is to make sure the base is good and smooth first before adding mix-ins. This should be done daily and would also minimize crystallizing during storage. Alas I know they are new to the ice cream field and will continue to learn. Give them a try and let them know how they are doing.

Went for a quick ice cream with my wife. The woman at the counter was very helpful in describing the flavors and providing taste samples. Had the Drunken Monkey and the Jake-5. Very yummy.

Just got off the phone with Bill, the manager, and he was awesome. I was calling to get a gift card for my friend and he was so professional and personable and made the process that much easier getting a gift for my friend long distance. The ice cream was amazing there and I wish you guys could move to the Palm Beach Area!! Thanks Bill and you guys are great!

OMG what's happening in my mouth. It's spicy, but wait... it's cold, regardless it's undeniably delicious, and after a long day/week/year I deserve it. That is word for word what ran through my head when I sampled the Chocolate Habanero, and pretty much every other flavor they had available. I have been searching for a hard ice cream place that wasn't a chain like Cold Stone close to Brandon, and I finally found it. I won't go into detail about the flavors, because chances are they will be different by the time you read this and decide to give it a try, but I will tell you that they can get pretty creative. Porky's Delight, Chocolate Habanero, Curry Sky, Banana Pudding, and Nutter Fudger were just a few they offered. I will say; however, that the owner and their daughter are incredibly friendly and always greet you with a smile. It's also just a cozy little spot complete with paintings done by the owner's family on one side, and (coming soon) paintings for sale on the other. Plenty of seating and space to enjoy your creamy creation. There is definitely nothing like this place in Tampa!

Not your Father's Ice Cream! My family and I L-O-V-E The Rev!! Ever since hearing about it on Four Square it has been our go to shop for frozen delights!! My daughter and I are totally addicted to Porky's Delight!! Bacon vanilla ice cream? YES PLEASE!! My husband likes the Banana Pudding flavor. The unusual is very usual for this boutique frozen confectionery and we shall be going again and again!

Do it, Do it, Do it!! Bacon ice cream, blueberry crumble, Nutter Butter...what? I am paraphrasing the names of their ice cream, but you will see for yourself what I mean. The portions are small, so do not expect Cold Stone sizes...if you like ice-cream, just expect that you will need to spend $7 on a large. The quality is very very good handcrafted ice cream. Have you ever had really good quality anything that you have a little bit and you don't need more, because you feel satieted? Well, that won't happen here, you will want to spend another $7 for more, because it is THAT good. One of the owners is nearly always behind the counter. They have a super cool story and are believers in what they are doing. Chat them up!

DO NOT MAKE THE MISTAKE I DID. DO NOT DRIVE ALL THE WAY TO THE TACKY-ASS PART OF BRANDON THINKING "TODAY I WILL HAVE GOOD ICE CREAM." I walked in, the guys working in the store looked to be hung over, on drugs, or both. But there I was, and poor them, they had to put a few words together to say hello to me and then to actually serve me. I asked to try some flavors, all of them sucked, all of them had varying degrees of ice crystals in them. Which means the ice cream was not fresh. Or worse, they have no idea how to make ice cream CREAMY. Sure they have hipster-fabulous flavors. But if you are going to put curry in an ice cream, it better be damn spectacular. If you are going to have chocolate ice cream, it better taste like fucking chocolate. Instead, I left here with a scoop of ice cream that was no better than my favorite Ben and Jerry's pint. I am not saying Ben and Jerry's is spectacular ice cream. But I am saying this Revolution ice cream joint is exceedingly overrated. I hate it when Yelpers waste my time by giving a place 5 stars when there is no way in hell it deserves it. Oh well. At least I got to go to Costco.

What a cool little ice cream shop!!! So many different unique flavors. I tried the Banana Pudding and the Porky's Delight. The Porky's delight just proves that bacon does go with anything. It was infused with bacon throughout and bacon brittle. It was awesome! Definitely recommend to all!

The Revolution will not be televised; it will be Instagrammed @RevIceCream... and hashtagged #yum #omg #delicious. I've tried five flavors so far, and I think the Chocolate Shock is my favorite. That might mark me as fairly boring, since the Chocolate Habañero and Drunken Brownies are also very good, as are the key lime pie and banana pudding flavors. But they do chocolate extremely well here. What's really interesting about this place is how well it marks the ascendance of Brandon as a thriving neighborhood. There's room for Campbell's Dairyland, serving up soft-serve and "a Jesus-filled day" since the mid-20th century, and literally two blocks away there's a creative ice cream shop with curry and bacon on the ingredients list. Welcome to Brandon, y que viva la revolución!

A hot day needs ice cream and Revolution delivered. This was my first visit and will NOT be my last. Not only do they offer unique flavors like Strawberry Basil or Girl Scouts on Espresso the store itself is comfortable and funky. They have a small play nook for kids and a cozy couch for relaxing There's a shelf full of books and board games to enjoy as you savor your delicious frozen treats. I ordered a scoop of Porky's Delight which is vanilla ice cream infused with bacon and topped with a piece of bacon praline and a scoop of Chocolate Habenero. The chocolate was rich and the heat from the habenero was perfect and hits just at the end of your bite. The Porky's Delight had a great balance of delicious vanilla ice cream and salty bacon and the two eaten together was fantastic. If you have a craving for some good home made ice cream and want something other than your standard vanilla, chocolate, or strawberry I highly recommend that you give this place a try. The only thing you'll regret is eating it too fast and giving yourself brain Freeze!

This place is awesome! I must admit I probably have been there way too many times! They make their own homemade ice cream with very fun and interesting flavors! Don't worry they have your classics too like vanilla and strawberry. But I have had Chocolate Habanero, Cinnamon Toast Crunch, and Euro Trash (Nutella Ice Cream with Biscoff cookies)! My wife usually goes with the drunken brownie (ameretto ice cream and brownie). They have food truck Fridays where a food truck comes and parks in their parking lot BAM dinner and dessert! I can not say enough great things about this place! But don't take my word for it check it out yourself!

Wow! If you're feeling like having mind blowing, delicious, ridiculously great ice cream then make sure you visit The Revolution Ice Cream Co. Absolutely wonderful flavors! I'm officially addicted. Excellent service. All of the ladies working there are upbeat, positive and super friendly. We tried the Nutter Fudger, Key Lime Pie, Banana Pudding, Chicken and Waffles, Curried sky and I forgot the name of the other one I think it was brownie something. However, we almost tried every flavor and I have to say that they are all amazing! It's worth a visit if you're in town. Yummmmm! Will definitely return soon.

This place is awesome! The vibe is very funky, mismatched furniture, quirky family paintings on one wall, local artist's work on another wall. There is a little nook for kids to play and a few cool seating areas for the adults. The flavors are awesome. So far I've tried Chocolate Habenero.... the best chocolate flavor at first bite then the habenero kicks you in the back of the throat. It's so good. They also have flavors like coconut curry (it has a nice name but I can't remember now) the more you eat the more you want. The drunken brownie is also amazing and it has a Chardonnay caramel type drizzle on top that is to die for. They have ice cream with bacon which is delish and I've also tried the banana pudding ice cream which is a banana lover's dream.... WAIT..... go back...... they have BACON ice cream!!!! You must try it! On top of all that the owners are kind, welcoming and sweet as can be. Go! Go now! Join the revolution. You'll be glad you did! Oh, almost forgot, they have the espresso bomb which is any flavor with a shot of espresso on top. I also tried the SBW sundae which was strawberry ice cream (amazing on its own) with balsamic and walnuts. DELISH!

Very cool place I stumbled up on after getting my nails done. LOVE IT!! I love the eclectic decor & love the originality of the flavors they offer. This place reminds me of a business you would see in Seminole Heights. I wish it was closer to my house because I would go with the family all the time.

The owner seemed friendly enough... However his staff needs a little guidance... I could see the ingredients in the back (full of processed items) and was a bit alarming when the ice cream is 'homemade'. The flavor was decent but knowing where the ingredients came from are just as important.

Gave it a second chance - well worth it. Great flavors, very eclectic. Feels like you are in someone's home. Want something different? This is the place. Oh, and their "one scoop" is as large as most "two scoops"

I was pleasantly surprised to discover this place while visiting my salon. I went in wanting just a chocolate milkshake, but I received more in return. The guy working said it was going to be the best milkshake I had ever had, but I had no idea he would be correct. It was simply amazing. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for great ice cream in the Tampa Bay Area. Its homemade and the have some interesting flavors. I tried the chicken and waffles and it brought a smile to my face. I will be visiting again in the very near future.

A welcoming change to the ice cream industry here in Brandon which until now basically sucked. We LOVE Revolution Ice Cream & look forward to their future ice cream flavor inventions. Originally from Connecticut where great ice cream is always just a short drive away we didn't realize how much we would miss it!! With great flavors like banana pudding and chocolate habenero we will continue to come back as often as we can. It's great to be able to speak with the owners when it's not busy also, I was able to put in my request for vanilla habenero and the chef seemed pretty interested so hopefully we'll see it soon!! With Toppers in Valrico for great soft serve and Revolution in Brandon for great hard ice cream I think we've finally finished our search for good ice cream in the area :)

Wow...quality ice cream and some unique flavors that really work well together. I had the bacon ice cream with bacon brittle. I've been skeptical of the bacon- in-everything craze, but this really worked. The bacon flavor was very subtle but was kicked up with the sweet-salty flavor combination of the brittle that really made it work. I also tried a taste of my husbands toasted coconut curry ice cream and it was very tasty. If you're not into these unique favors, don't shy away from the Revolution...they have plenty of less exotic favors to please any palette, plus it gives you the opportunity to support your local small business.

Get in your car now and go get this ice cream. Simply perfect. We got the blueberry muffin, key lime pie, and chocolate habanero. All were delicious, and the blueberry was the best ice cream I've ever had. These treats are high quality and homemade. WAY better than any chain.

This place is truly unique and fun. I ordered the Chocolate Habanero which has the perfect blend of sweet and spicy. The prices are a little high, but it's local family owned and all homemade which I like. I am looking forward to trying more flavors soon.
