Super awesome Latin food in Brandon area. We went here for diner with family and boy was I surprised. I tend to be supper picky when it comes to my Latin food and for me to be happy with the authenticity of this place is saying something. I had the palomino steak with red beans and rice and all I can say is it was some vary tasty Cuban fare. The rice and beans were spot on including the steak which was perfect including the sautéed onions that topped it. One other note is that on certain days they have a small band that plays live music and after eleven you can dance. If your looking for some great Latin food make it a point to check this little gem out...

Excellent food and service. Will definitely be coming back! Great atmosphere friendly staff. I thought the price was good for the quality of food that was served. Highly recommend trying!!!

I was really impressed with this place. The food was great and the portion size was even greater. The entire staff were very friendly. My waitress was awesome. The prices aren't bad at all. Expect to pay about $11-25 per plate. I tried their tres leches dessert. OMG. So darn delicious. Try this place out, you won't regret it.

Great local favorite! Definitely has its own style and flair. The breakfast tipico is the best EVER! And if you ask nicely they'll make it during the day too :)

We are in Brandon visiting my mother in law and were craving Spanish food. The ambiance was nice. They have a live Spanish band that plays salsa, bachata, merengue, reggaeton. They were really good for a local band. The service was slow and our food to over half hour. However the food was good and flavorful. I had the pork chops with yuca and yellow rice. I tried my mother in laws shrimp mofongo and it was great. The sangria wasn't the best I wouldn't recommend it. Overall had a good experience and food was tasty.

Cuban sampler HUGE! Recommend the palomilla steak; prepared to perfection. We finished with cafe con leche because it was just too fantastic. Wonderful service, clean & extremely friendly!

I wanted to try this place for breakfast for quite a while. Now I kind of wish we hadn't. We were the first people here for breakfast on a Saturday morning before a long day of Christmas shopping. This made me a bit leery. We obviously had our choice of seats so found a cozy corner and settled in. Waitress came over and took out coffee order and was back in a jiffy with it. Great coffee, should have asked what brand it was. We ordered our breakfasts and that's when the problems began. More people finally started to arrive and I felt a bit better about that. One waitress for the place and I soon realized that the people coming in had to be regulars because the waitress was just chatting away with everyone, for a very long time, which led to problem: #1 - The wait for our food became ridiculous,. We were the only people there for quite sometime, I saw a couple people in the kitchen so I knew there was someone there to cook. Where was our food. #2 - Finally get our food, and you guessed it, it was cold. No cold eggs for me, we had to send the meals back. #3 - When we finally got our food, my eggs were not cooked properly, were very runny and I couldn't eat them. My bacon was ok, French toast was ok, but they didn't have sugar free syrup, which I have to use. A side of chorizo was ok. #4 - Wanted out bill so we could get out of there, but waitress was too busy telling others all about her life so took quite a while before we could flag her down for our bill. The prices were good here. Although our waitress seemed a bit absent minded she was very nice. We will not return.

#195 When the wife suggested we try The Latin Grill for breakfast I was all in as I usually am. Exploring new bfast places is one of my favs. We had previously tried to have dinner here but once inside the live music was so loud we decided not to. Back to bfast. It was a saturday morning, 9ish I guess and we went in and were the only people in there for quite a while. The coffee came right away and was strong and hot, really good. We ordered and watched more and more people come in. I heard the bell chime when orders are up and got ready but curiously no food showed up. I knew that the longer it took the colder the food was going to be and sure enough. When the waitress brought the meals it was cold as ice. Inedible. Now the server was too busy telling another couple all her tales of woe and I had to flag her down. I told her all the food was cold and she actually acted surprised but said she would have it all remade. I had the Havana Omelet with grits, wife had 2 over medium, bacon, french toast and we ordered a side of chorizo to try it. The meals came out again and were hot but our cuban toast which she brought out way before bfast #1 came out was ice cold. here's the meal rundown: Havana Omelet - Looked like a 3 egg omelet with ham, chorizon and cheese. It was ok. Hard to explain, it was just ok. My grits came out cold and lumpy. So cold the butter wouldn't melt. That's cold. Eggs, bacon and chorizo and french toast - The first eggs (cold) were cooked perfect. The second set were undercooked and had runny whites. This makes it inedible to the wife. Her bacon seemed fine and the chorizo, meh. The french toast was very cinaminny but, again, nothing special. They aslo did not have sugar free syrup which we both use. We had to flag (again) the server for our check. Throughout this whole experience our server was very nice. She just wasn't paying attention or something. Not likely we will return for a repeat performance, the food just didn't warrant another try.

Used to love this place. Used to visit often. Used to... After several bad experiences in a row with Latin grill I stopped going. Until recently I was in the mood for a Cuban sandwich and I figured since its been almost a year since I've been I'd give it another go. And once again I was disappointed. I specifically asked for the bread to be extra toasty since in the past I've gotten some soggy bread from there. I guess the cook didn't get that message because my sandwich was soft and soggy just like I remember. I also called ahead for pick up they told me 10 min. I arrived 15min later and still had to wait 5 min for my order. Oh, and I ordered some fried plantains and they were under cooked. What happened Latin grill? You used to be my go to for Latin food in Brandon. Not anymore. Other problems in the past include roast pork that was way over salted, under cooked food, slow service and for some reason they just can't make a decent Cuban sandwich anymore.

I called an order ahead. Once I got home I was missing 1 of my 3 orders and the other 2 were wrong. I called and spoke with a Hispanic man that said he was a manager and refused to give me his name. He was extremely rude and no help. Now, I'm disputing the charge with my credit card company. Never again!!!! Rude service and they can't seem to get something this simple done right. Never again. Stay away!!!! Anyway, I'm Cuban and lived in West Tampa all of my life. Latin Grill is not authentic Cuban food.

Best breakfast ever. Cafe con leche. Perfection. Cuban toast done right, to say nothing of the added guava jelly. Best prices.

I have to add more stars. They are consistently tasty and authentic and a go-to of ours for delicious Cuban food.

Latin Grill has great food - I especially enjoy their breakfast choices. From tasty breakfast steak burrito's to more traditional breakfast choices, Latin Grill adds flavors you won't find in many places in Brandon (even breakfast options are limited in Brandon with only 1 IHOP and much more junky chain joints). I especially love the Cuban bread and it is not to be missed - they have two sauces, a sweet red sauce and spicy green sauce that we like to mix for the perfect palate pleaser. Just be careful not to get too full on all that delicious bread. The lunch and dinner options are also satisfactory, but I think their steak sandwich was simply so-so. The service is a hit or miss depending on who you get as your waiter or waitress, it seems the younger staff members are both friendlier and quicker on the feet when it comes to service. Overall, a solid Spanish restaurant in Brandon that has come a long way from its small beginnings. Don't miss their fruit shakes, they are fantastic!

When I walked into The Latin Grill and heard some kind of golden oldies music playing, I was immediately disheartened. Maybe they play it to suffice their clientele, who at the time of my visit (Noon on a Monday) comprised of about 4 tables of 60+yr old diners. I would have expected some salsa music, maybe rumba. I don't know. Something with people speaking Spanish, to put me in a Latin frame of mind. I sat down and got a café con leche. At the recommendation of Carlos H, I thought about getting the fruit shake but I chickened out. I wasn't really in a fruit shake kinda mood. Actually, when I think about it, Ive never been in a fruit shake kinda mood. Its not my thing. The coffee was exactly what I would need to get me through the rest of the day. I ordered the Vaca Frita with yellow rice and black beans. The beef was okay. It was crispy on the outside, but also somewhat tender in areas. It was a little too crispy for me. I liked the black beans. They had a nice seasoning to them unlike some places that make them too bland for my taste. There's a complimentary basket of pressed Cuban bread with the meal. It comes with two sauces. The red one is sweet. Im guessing its some kind of a guava or papaya blend. I wasnt crazy about it. The green sauce has some pizzazz! It's a blended pepper mix (again Im guessing). Im not hugely into spicy anything, but I liked it with the bread. I also tried mixing the two sauces together but that was a disaster. I just was not into the sweeter sauce. I liked The Latin Grill but wasnt blown away. If I were in the area and had a hankering for Spanish food, I would go back, but I wouldn't go out of my way.

Just sitting here for over 40 minutes and the food has not arrived... My nephew ordered a shake and after 20 minutes they came out and said they didn't have mango... Also said they were going to bring more bread and didn't happen either... They need to get with it...

Portions were huge. Pretty good but not the best in the area. Service started out good but quickly deteriorated as our waiter disappeared after dropping off our food. We asked for more bread and he never returned to ask how our food was or give us more bread. We could see him laughing and joking with another table in the back. The table next to us had to have a waiter go fetch him so they could pay their bill. We were finished for 20 minutes before we could get boxes for our food and leave. Probably won't return.

Great food! Sometimes service isn't at it's peak but that's mostly because they are busy. Well worth the wait!

Excellent food, we've been here twice and every time it is excellent. Service is fast, and portions are big which any Latino can appreciate. Maria, our server, was right on point and did not miss a beat. Had the platter appetizer and the mofongo with churrasco. Our best mofongo yet and we've had them all up and down Tampa and Puerto Rico, and I'd choose this place over them all. We will definitely come back, and highly recommend it. Tremendo restaurante. La mejor comida latina en todo tampa y brandon. Y tenemos hasta pa la perra. Eso es: la perra hambre de mañana. Jaja.

Arrived on a Sunday not very busy, maybe 20 folks in the place. Latin music played from the sound system. Our server was nice...very soft spoken so everything to him was "good" when we asked about favorite dishes. We ordered chicken empanadas to start. For our entree's we ordered the cuban pork and Cuban bread arrived prior, a little spongy and not too crispy, it was ok but could have stayed in the toaster/grill/oven a little longer. The empanadas were tasty and spicy, and there were four. The dough surrounding them was fried perfectly. The filling was nicely seasoned and juicy. Nice way to start the meal. The entree arrived. The black beans were hot (temp) but flavorless. The yellow rice was a bit dry but more flavorful than the beans. The pork was delicious and served with tasty pickled onions. Overall a decent meal, but nothing spectacular. Would I eat here again, certainly...but there is better Cuban/Latin food to be had in the Tampa area.

Bueno!! I travel to Miami...a lot, and have a real love for authentic Latin food. The Brandon area has been lacking quality Latin food with that Cuban flair that you find in a city like Miami...until now! Love the food. Live the prices and the atmosphere is a lot of fun. It is our new favorite!

From the moment I walked in, I was greeted by the staff. A very nice atmosphere and very welcoming. I got the devil crab and ham croquetas, which were very delicious. The international entree I ordered, has steak, green peppers and onions topped with French fries were very well seasoned and a great combination of flavors. It was my first time here, but I will definitely be coming back with some friends!

I am new to Brandon, but this has quickly become my go to for Cuban. Their pork is always dependable and consistent. And dependable pork is high on my priorities....their masitas and lechon are MOIST and fresh. I love their Cuban and the green dipping sauce that comes with their bread. Their maduros are like dessert and their sangria is strong. It's a really good value for your money, too. About $10-15 per entree, with a doggie bag. Enjoy!

I've been to Latin Grill several times now. In the past I've found their food to be good. It didn't knock my socks off but I couldn't say it was bad either. That was until I have a life changing experience there. I tried their "latin grill" sandwich. Toasted cuban bread with olive oil, chorizo, sliced ham and sliced pork... it was a little piece of heaven. Honestly, it's one of the best sandwiches I have had in a very long time. Now I'm looking forward to trying some of their other menu items. I've heard breakfast is good there. Service is always great and very friendly, the place is always clean and so far the food has been solid.

Brandon seems to be the city of the chain restaurant. Thankfully that all changed in the last couple of years when we started getting some excellent authentic ethnic restaurants. What we like here is the menu...it has everything that ANYONE from anywhere in Latin America might want, and every dish is prepared to perfection. It's a gem in Brandon and definitely a favorite of our family!

This is the new home of the Latin Cafe 2000 that used to be in the Bloomingdale Square Plaza at Bloomingdale and Bell Shoals. Same staff, same menu, bigger, and cleaner place. They gutted the old Lee House dim sum place and opened a couple of months ago. I still say this is a great place for breakfast, but dinners can be hit or miss. They added some breakfast specials that are really good. I'm a fan of the desayuno tipico, rice, picadillo, two fried eggs, platanos maduros, more picadillo, and cuban toast strips. Yummy when everything's fresh. Again, usually in the mornings.
