We're regulars and certainly agree with the raves of this local burger & wing joint. Service is always friendly, and the owners are interested in making you happy (especially Scotty). They took a good plan and made it better. We always enjoy meeting our friends here for eats.

This is newly opened in the defunct Big Belly Burgers space. We had missed our local place to have a great non-chain burger. The new owners have a winner. Burgers are great. Wings are great and reminiscent or the old Roosters in Brandon. This is a great place to kick back and also bring the kids with you. Good value and great food. Friendly wait staff

Friday night and we were looking for a new place to try out we found this place on yelp and wanted to give it a try. We walked and were told to pick our own seats so we picked a spot at a high top bar/table. It took a few minutes to get served but once a waitress came out we ordered a pitcher of Yuengling the pitchers are 7.25 which is not bad at all. They served the pitcher with small clear plastics cups which was a upset since beer taste much better in a ice cold mug. We ordered buffalo chips and 20 wings half med. and half garlic. The food came out quickly and it was very good. Our overall experience was alright we probably won't come back since it is not that close to home and we have had better experiences other places. The staff was very friendly except two ladies decided they wanted to hang up Christmas light while we were sitting there and eating so they were walking around us and going over us to tape them up that really annoyed my they should wait till they close or at least no one is sitting there.

Good bar food, nothing fancy here at all. Cheap beer, even if the pint is not 16oz. It's new, so the place is mostly clean with brand new TV's. The chose not to renovate everything (like the bathrooms), but I don't expect much from a local bar. Staff is friendly.

We are visiting the area and visited Sluggers on 3/13. The owner greeted us and everyone made us feel like a regular. We played trivia, ate burgers and had a great time. One of the best meal experiences on the trip - price was right although the beer is served in plastic cups!

Good place to watch a game. Definitely a good Sunday afternoon crowd...Bucs, Cowboys, and Dolphins fans! Great beer deal and decent wings, fries and great tater tots. Chicken fingers, burgers, quesadillas not so great. I would go back for beers, but that's it. Service was very good and the girls were definitely hustling. I will try a few others before I head back.

Good burgers. Pretty typical bar fare. Lotsa deep fryer stuff. Clean, decent prices, friendly staff. Good place to watch a game.

Such a disappointment. Went at 3:45 on Saturday afternoon. Only one waitress who was clearly overwhelmed by the 3 tables she was responsible for. Our food sat in the window for 5 minutes before she brought it out to us, and needless to say it was not hot. She watched the cooks put it in the window and went to take an order!!We ordered burgers, wings and 2 kids meals: our "medium" burgers were well done (at best), both the chips and fries were dark, dark brown (likely overcooked in old grease). The burgers and wings were served almost 5 minutes before the kids meals, so my husband and I weren't able to enjoy our food, as we were still trying to keep our hungry toddlers at bay. My husband insisits that I mention how good the wings are. I agree, they should've been great. But overcooked and dried out is not very appetizing. The floor was so sticky that I almost lost a flip flop walking on it! Also, the waitress overcharged us by $1.50 for a kids meal. All in all a very frustrating meal and total waste of $$$.

Food was burnt, Manager (I think she was?) was our server & GREAT. Everything & everyone else was pretty poor to average. They have changed ownership twice since we moved to the neighborhood 7 months ago. The new owners seem to be a couple of older gentleman that only seem to care about their regulars and fellow Ohio fans. Our food came out incredibly burnt. Seriously, the inside of the buns were black. Our server (believe her to be the manager & if she's not she should be!) could tell just by looking at the plate. The French fries were WAY over cooked also. And in old grease. She told the owner, twice, that my food was bad & she took it back. Never once did either owner stop by our table to say hi, ask how it was, or comment on the fact my food was taken away uneaten. They had no clue we use to be regulars and we're just waiting for new owners & the return of the full menu for us to come back as regulars. Funny, they had time to chat (at length) with many other guests, walk right by us to welcome other regulars/friends, play with the TV channels & volume and make announcements about sports trivia..... Just sad because Michelle is awesome and really cares about the place. The food use to be great and it was a nice corner, close to home bar & grill.... Now the food is over-cooked & owners don't care about anyone other than their little group of friends.

Great burger, fries, beer, and atmosphere. Friendly staff that care more about the experience than splitting pennies. We will definitely be back!

This place is a solid neighborhood kind of place. We were going to a movie in Brandon, so I wanted to find a nearby local joint, something like St. Petersburg's El Cap. The place is spartanly decorated. That's fine, as long as it's clean. It is very spacious, so I doubt it would ever be tough to get a table or seat. Service is very casual. I walked in and had a hard time finding anyone to tell me if I could seat myself. The menu is basic, mostly burgers and fried things. I tried the hot and spicy burger, and I asked to have bleu cheese on top. It first showed up without the cheese, and it took about 5 minutes for the waitress to walk by again for me to get her to remedy it. The burger was fine (it might have been better if it had been served correctly first since then it'd still be hot), but nothing to write home about. The fries on the side were crunchy and very salty. The beers on tap were cheap, but as other reviewers noted, you don't really get the full pint that they list on the menu. It's more like 12 oz. And, as it is served in a flimsy plastic cup, the beer warms up pretty quickly. Don't waste your money on the Shock Top, stick to the cheaper Yuengling.

Sluggers is the sort of family friendly catch a game with a burger and beer kind of joint that every neighborhood should have. Tucked in to the Corner of Bloomingdale Avenue and John Moore Road, there is easy access and ample parking (even on nights when a Cornhole Tourney takes up spaces). Joining me for the dining experience were my teenage kids who attend Bloomingdale High and Burns Middle Schools. For them, going out on a weeknight for burgers, fries and a soda is quite the treat and Sluggers is a perfect choice. The burgers at Sluggers are of a good half-pound dimension and there is ample toppings and options. The fries and onion rings are quite tasty just the right size. The wings are a pretty standard fair in that I wouldn't go out of my way to dine on them, but as an appetizer offering they are quite worthy. For variety, I ordered from the Sandwich menu and ended up with half a chicken breast that substituted for the standard burger. It was a little dry but fulfilled what pint-size promise was expected. And speaking of pints, I was delighted to find that the beer selection offered a couple of local options tucked in among the standard big brews. With more than a dozen televisions spread throughout the bar and dining area, pretty much any sporting event you need is available. And if you don't see the one you want, just ask your server for a channel change. Sluggers may not produce the best burgers and wings I have ever had, but they are certainly far from the worst. The same goes for the sides and drinks. Good, solid, dependable staples with a pleasant atmosphere. This is a good place to bring the family when you just don't feel like cooking, or need to commune with other locals for the big game, and have a hankering for comfort food on a budget.

By far the best hot garlic wing's I have had. The service was great the beer was cold. We had buffalo chips and some mozzarella stick all was great. This is my go to place for wing's.

This is a hit or miss place, my advice is don't come here on a slow day. The food is good but sometimes the service sucks. I would still comeback.

My wife, son and I went for the first time on 6/12 around 2 pm. The waitress was very friendly. When we sat down to our suprise/delight there was a Cigar City Jai alai beer poster on the wall. We asked the waitress and yes, THEY HAVE JAI ALAI ON DRAFT!!! We all 3 had the burger and fries and we all thought they were the best burgers we'd had in a long time. Little things like the quality pickles on the burger and having mustard avail at our table made the experience all the better. ( it's annoying going to some of the burger chains and having to tear through a handful of packets)..so we will definitely be back. Quality food , friendly atmosphere and Jail alai on draft...5+++++ stars!

The first time I visited this restaurant, I gave it 5 stars. That was last December. Since then, they have dropped due mostly to poor service. The food is consistent because the only thing that's good are the chicken wings and the desserts. The french fries are hit or miss. The nachos at first look really good but they insist on using some crappy nacho cheese that obviously came from a can. I mean how hard is it to melt some cheese and put some cayenne pepper and cilantro in it. Also, they could make their own chili as well. It would probably help them save money too. Now, about the service. Last night, we came in around 10 pm. We finished eating around the same time that the USF game was over. Go Bulls! Then we sat and waited for our check. Our waitress was cashing out. The manager came by and asked if we wanted anything else and we said we wanted the check. He went over to the waitress but she just stood there talking to some guys. Finally, I went over to the bar to get my check and pay. That was probably the biggest mistake they ever made because I was able to look into the kitchen. The cook was leaving and I could clearly see that they have not cleaned that kitchen properly in a LONG, LONG time. There was burnt crap on the grill and all over the wall. The fryers hadn't been cleaned either and there was black stuff all over the fryers and on the walls. The metal vents above the grill were brown. It was gross. Definitely a case for the dirty diners squad, who I am tempted to call. I love a good pub but this place needs to pick up the pace, clean the kitchen thoroughly, and attend to their customers. I am one of their best customers (they have told me so) and yet, all I get from them is empty promises.

Went to have a burger for dinner. IT TOOK AN HOUR!!!! to get a burger! The place was busy but there were about a half a dozen tables that were playing trivia and just drinking. The service staff kept apologizing but the kitchen needs more help.

Cheap beers, cheap (and very tasty burgers), and usually friendly and helpful staff, what more could you want? Well, being able to be open after 11 pm would help, but that's not Sluggers fault. Just stinks having to leave before games are over.
