The food is always good! Had the meat stuffed pizza for the first time!! It was fabulous!!! Enough to feed a party of 6 with leftovers. YUMMY

Fantastic stromboli and I love their Antipasto salad. I was surprised because this place is located right next to the movie theater. The food is so good here my family and I come for dinner and the bonus is that the theater is right next door. If we wanna catch a movie after dinner then we can. My mom's favorite meal is spaghetti and meatballs so she orders it at every Italian restaurant. More Italian is now her favorite place for spaghetti and meatballs in the Brandon area. I highly recommend this wonderful family owned Italian restaurant.

Best REAL NY pizza around. However, if you call in an order you could run into a problem. I just called that place for last time. First time I called I was put on hold for 10 mins and hung up on. Second time for 5 mins and hung up on. Called back a third time and stated what had happened. Instead of an apology I was told that it IS a restaurant and she is very busy in a very rude and sarcastic way. I'm sorry but they might serve NY quality food and have an authentic NY "attitude" but defiantly not NY service! The two stars would be 5 if it was based on food quality but it isn't.

Yum!!!! I ate here alone before going to see a movie and it was phenomenal, you can tell it's made from scratch. I went back a few days later for some cannolis to go and they were awesome! Definitely recommend this place, doesn't look like much from the outside but it is really good, authentic Italian food!

Great food ordered a calzone and parmigiano wings. Small restaurant located to the side of Brandon Regency movie theater.

Amazing, fresh food. Great, fast service and food came out quickly on a Saturday night. Our family will definitely come back.

First visit to this restaurant and definitely It won't be the last one. I had the four cheese pizza with veggies, Great taste ! Dessert was Tiramisu, you can't go wrong with their Tiramisu. You can tell this place uses quality ingredients to prepare the food. The bill was low taking into consideration a dinner for two with beers, main course and dessert. Our server was very educated and provided an excellent service.

I called at 645pm and ordered 2 pizzas a lasagna (dinner portion) and soda. I was passed through 3 people to order, after finally getting it over with I was told 45 mins with a total of $46.60 (I literally live a half mile from this business). At 738pm a man called me for my credit card Billing zip code because they forgot to get it, I inquired about whether or not the driver left with my food yet and he said "10 mins"...804pm and nothing, I called the restaurant no one knows anything accept for how to apologize and a promise to call me right back with a driver location, 815pm a girl calls me back and says he's lost (this is not my first delv order from here) they ask AGAIN what my bldg number is, I explain 813...they wrote down 313...she tells me to call the driver....I do and he finally makes it at 835pm and he tells me "I'm gonna quit this is the 3rd wrong address they gave me tonight" I check my receipt and the total is WRONG It was $49.60...I get inside with my food....the pizza is barely warm, lasagna is an almost cold dried brick with about an ounce of sauce next to it not on it....one pizza isn't even cut so that was fun since I don't have a pizza cutter, the soda was actually hot...and lastly the garlic knots that supposedly come with the lasagna dinner were non existent. This is not my first issue with this business but I gave them an honest shot because the owner is really really nice and the food had always been excellent (accept this time) but the service downright sucks! My order two weeks ago that I placed online (I received confirmation and was billed) didn't print at the location so it took over 2 hours to receive!!!! And when I've gone to eat in, the servers are slow and it's inefficient. I will no longer be dining there and it's really unfortunate since the food is actually good when it's hot.

Hands down the best pizza in the Tampa area. Not only is the food top notch but the ownership is above reproach as well. I go here often and can't say enough positive things. I assure you that you will not be disappointed with the food, the service or the price.

The food is great. The service is terrible. I get hung up, left on hold, and left waiting at the counter. If you are looking for a good pizza, you can get it here. If you are looking for customer service, move on to someplace else. The place is fairly clean. Delivery always says an hour though sometimes it is faster. I am looking for a place that makes as good of a Stromboli. Once I find it, I will move on from this restaurant. The food is good. The service terrible. You can make the choice.

Wize Guyz is open! I found this place while looking for a pizza place that had pizza by the slice. This was the only one I could find. I had no expectations going in here, but boy was it my night for some good pizza. I could smell it right when I walked in. The owner Marco introduced himself and schooled us in this great pizza and the quality ingredients he uses. I have to say if I lived around this area this would be my pizza spot! Prices were awesome and I loved the selection of traditional Italian desserts and other entrees. Prices were very cheap.

I stopped in with my husband and 2 daughters for lunch after a movie. When you walk in you seat yourself so there is no waiting. We did the lunch special for 2 slices of pizza for my girls and my husband got the same thing and I ordered the mozzarella caprese and the italian celebration soup. The girls slices came out pretty fast and as far as pizza goes it was you ordinary pizza. Nothing spectacular. When the caprese came out I was surprised it looked pretty good. It definitely didn't disappoint it was delicious. Then my soup came out and it was was like an Italian wedding soap without the sausage. The taste was good and the herbs they used were good. Now the downfall of this lunch was that they forgot to bring my husbands pizza. We had to wait quite a while before we got his slices. They girls got pretty antsy while waiting for him to finish eating. While we waited I took the girls to bathroom and in the hall was a dead cockroach. Definitely not the place that I want to see that. Basically the the pizza was ordinary, the appetizers were really good but I won't be returning because Of the the wait and the cockroach. Bummer.

We have always been impressed by this restaurant. Very friendly and good food. It is great before or after a movie next door. Frankly, this place is ten times better than the Red Lobster or Olive Garden across the street. The pizzas are always excellent.

Great restaurant. Quality food. True to Italian recipes passed down from generations, according to the owner who was kind enough to chat with us for quite awhile. We ordered the chicken parm, baked penne, and calzone. Would come back again.

Ordered pizza for takeout. Parking is a challenge for pick-up. Mushrooms are canned - not fresh. The sauce was pretty bland. Next time we'd try pasta and skip the pizza...

I think the pizza here is tasty and the staff are friendly. I would not hesitate to recommend them to the average hungry American. Why then, do they lack 2 stars? I attempted to order delivery from them when my jeep was in the shop and I was non-mobile and I was told they could not deliver that night because the driver called off... Wait, let me get this straight, you have only one person on staff who can drive a car?... I would like more of More Italian, but I don't want to waste my time calling to find out if they have anyone on staff who can drive to deliver the pizza.

Only went to this place because we needed to eat dinner before the movie and what an experience...and not in the good way. I have never been to a restaurant with the name "Bistro" that served dinner with paper plates and plastic silverware. If the cheap feel of that does not bother you, how about the slow service? We had a friendly waitress, but the kitchen was extremely slow with our meal. This might bother some people, but our waitress was seeing texting a lot during her work shift from behind the counter. She had her phone next to the register and thought she was slick. It's rude, text on your time, not company time.

I've been in the Tampa Bay area for over 7 years and as a New Yorker, I have high standards for Pizza. It took me a while to find the best pizza in town and this has to be in my favorite of all. The staff is very friendly and the food is delicious. Try their canoli's before a movie (or sneak one in) and you won't regret it!

Great pizza place with good salads and soups. And if you are looking for good pizza this is the place. You have to judge a restaurant between the circumstances that surround it. The owner is always there he makes sure everything is done properly, he seems to know what is the right way to cook Italian food. Another cool thing is that they sell Nutella, a great little snack dessert. Give a try this place is way better than the junk food you are about to eat before a movie. Come early take a sit, enjoy the pizza while you get ready for your movie.

This place is amazing! Its the real deal! Best italian resturant in the area! Don't go to olive garden! Come here. Its all family here. Feel like your at home and have a good meal! Owner is a lovely guy!

Pizza slices are good, very filling. We have been visiting here for over a year, and my husband really likes their "stuffed pizza" product. We were disappointed recently when they stopped giving free refills for fountain soft drinks ... who doesn't do that these days? They have since changed their stance and we are back visiting them with frequent regularity. You must try their vegetarian (not vegan) pizzas -- lots of veggies on it and very filling. Great place to grab a slice before/after seeing a movie in the theater right next door.

I like going here for a slice of pizza. Especially before watching a movie. The pizza is thin and crispy with flavor. Not bland like some other pizza places.

Saw this place and thought it looked good. So one evening Jessica E and I looked up their menu. Looked good. The pizza was delicious. Even though we are very close to the location delivery times are 45 mins to an hour. The pizza was good. Did I say that already? We have ordered many times since. Jessica loves the desserts. The last one was the zeppoles were a hit. Only one time was delivery an issue. Late and cold pizza. New driver new girl answering the phone. LOL Happens to everybody. But one quick phone call and the next one was free. So want a good pizza in Brandon? Give them a try.....just don't be in a hurry if wanting delivery. I mean hey even Dominoes say now says slower is better.

Love, Love, love this place. So good and so cheap! Owner is the sweetest man and the waitress that's been there a long time is the best too. We feel at home every time we stop here for a quick bite and leave feeling full and satisfied. Your movie ticket gets you an extra $2 off a whole pizza which is a bonus too. Best pizza in town and I'm from the Chicago area where they know pizza!

Darned good Italian style pizza. The white pizza with Kalamata olives is great. Lavazza espresso is way better than what you get in chain cafes or restaurants. This us NOT fine dining, just good food. They have a full menu, but frankly I have never made it past the pizza and the sfogliatelle. My 5 star rating is for the pizza, therefore.

  • Ben O.

It's 75° outside and I'm shivering inside More Italian. It's one of the few downers about an otherwise good meal (the other being my suspicion that some of my refills weren't DIET Coke), but I'll happily bring a jacket next time and give it another shot. The Kalamata olives were actually Kalamata and not just black, and the folks in charge care enough to print the correct pronunciation of "bruschetta" on the menu. If you remember this place as "Wiseguyz", or if you haven't been here since March 2012, it's worth revisiting. No longer just a place to grab a couple of slices before or after the movies, More Italian has become a genuine Italian restaurant with pasta cooked properly and desserts that are so fresh you can only get some of them on the weekend. (I've gotta come back for a sfogliatella soon.) They're currently running a 20%-off-$20+ deal on Yelp, which makes me wish I'd thought to order a piece of Brooklyn Blackout Cake. Since our tab was sitting at $17 for our dinners, it would have been free. Oh well, who doesn't love a reason to return?

Definitely 'slow-food' as noted on their website. Actually, the wait wasn't that bad as I was able to converse with my husband over our drinks. We ordered medium wings that's made with "home-cooked buffalo sauce" and a medium "5 Top Special" pizza which consists of pepperoni, sausage, onions, peppers, mushrooms and "baked in brick ovens". Our food finally arrived but I was pretty let down and slightly confused by the wording used on their menu. First off, the wings were okay but they're also covered with red tomato sauce mixed with buffalo sauce. It was kind of a strange thing and it seemed they toss the wings in that sauce AFTER being cooked. I really didn't care for that at all. Although, the waitress said that I probably would like their Garlic Parm wings instead, but I didn't bother asking for that. My husband is a huge wing lover and he gave the wings 7 out of 10 and added that he wouldn't go out of his way to order these again though. Secondly, the pizza looked shiny, meaning it was wet due to the piling of the toppings. I was right as soon as I pulled out my slice and half of my toppings fell to the pizza pan. The center of the pizza was definitely wet. This is when I realized the second confusion of the wording they used on the menu "BAKED TO ORDER IN OUR BRICK OVENS". This was definitely not what I was expecting because it wasn't obvious at all as typically when restaurants claim this, they'll use a pizza peel to directly deliver the raw dough pizza onto the brick oven to allow the moisture be pulled out of the center of the dough and help evaporate the extra moisture on top of the pizza from the extra vegetable toppings. I flipped over the pizza and noticed they instead bake the pizza on top of a mesh pizza pan. The tiny grid-like marks were proof. I also did not see a "brick oven" and saw several large metal ovens. The toppings on the pizza could have been a bit better as they used sliced sausage instead of crumbling it, making it appear as very brown pepperoni alongside the real pepperoni. It wasn't appealing at all. We had the rest as left overs and had it for our lunch the next day. It wasn't bad but it also wasn't as delicious as it'd be when cold. I do like cold pizza the next day for brunch and it didn't wow me at all. I think this restaurant got lucky with the number of reviews because of it's very very convenient location as it's plopped right in front of a movie theater, making it easy for movie goers grab a slice before or after the movie. Would I come back, not even remotely sure because of the misleading or not enough description of the items make me wonder how the other entrees, like lasagna, on the menu really are prepared as.

Went here last night before catching a movie since it is right next door to the theater. There isn't a whole lot of seating inside, so on a very crowded movie night there might be a longer wait for a spot to open up. Luckily we got a table right away. The service we received was just average - not bad, but nothing to praise either. It seemed to take forever to get the bill though! I ordered a slice of pepperoni pizza. I wanted to add mushrooms as an additional topping, but was told I could only get mushrooms if I ordered a whole pizza. This strikes me as a bit odd because the pizza is made and cooked fresh there when you order but whatever. Our food came out pretty quickly. The pizza was a little on the greasy side, but still really tasty! It is a pretty good sized slice that they give you as well. I would probably return to try one of their pasta dishes... or maybe with a (small) group of people to split a whole pizza. And in that case, I am getting my mushrooms!

A Taste of Italy at More Italian Bistro in Brandon, FL Italians know good 'gravy' (tomato sauce) when they taste it. Pizza must have good sauce and mozzarella and the crust has to be crispy, not soggy. More Italian Bistro makes the sauce and pizza that way and it's 'amore' at first bite. There are NO GMO's in any of the ingredients that Marco uses, and he gets fresh ingredients delivered every day! The pizza dough and garlic bread are so light and tasty and you don't feel 'bloated' like you do with other pizza at other restaurants. The tomato sauce for the crispy calamari was awesome and very light. The recipe has been handed down for 3 generations, so you know it's from a real Italian Momma from Sicily. Everyone raved about the tomato bruchetta, and the balsamic reduction was so good, we couldn't get enough of them... so we had to get two more orders. So who makes Italian garlic chicken wings? They do, and they are really garlicy good! I can't believe how large the portion of eggplant parmigiana and lasagna were. It felt like I was eating at my aunt Fran's on a Sunday afternoon. My Aunt Fran was a fabulous cook...and this was as good as hers. Just when I thought we were finished...they brought out "more" food. More Italian Bistro orders only the finest veal and it's delivered daily. The veal piccata with fettucine was so tender you could cut it with a fork. And we finished off with a very nicely spiced succulent shrimp scampi with spaghetti. You would think that we would have to be dragged out in a barrel with all that food, but everything was extremely light so no one was overly stuffed. Marco makes his own desserts and they are just awesome. I remember my grandma from Sicily making her Italian cheesecake and this was so creamy and delicious, I kept thinking she would appear! They also make their own canoli cream and tiramisu, which were absolutely yummy!! There are so many items on the menu that are from their family recipes and that's what makes this restaurant so special. I can't want to go back for MORE!!

I had the white pizza with spinach, and it was easily one of the best pizza's I've had in a long time. The dough was really light and tasted fresh. It's the kind of pizza where you eat the and crust and all. Oh, and make sure you try a canolli too.

Today was my first experience at this restaurant, and it was a good one. Stopped in for a quick bite before a movie. The spot seems clean And the service was seemed decent enough.. We were quickly greeted and seated... I ordered a beer in which they had no beer glasses, but a wine glass served the purpose. I ordered stuffed shells that were pretty tasty and chicken Caesar salad that actually was delicious. The salad dressing was amazing and I could tell homemade. I didn't order pizza, but the tables around me see to be satisfied customers.. I could hear verbal expressions of satisfaction.. The owner/chef greeted us, which was a nice touch, before we left inquiring about our thoughts on the visit... Overall not a bad visit, not bad prices, good service... I'll be back.

My first stop on my Carlos Eats Pizza Tour. I found myself pretty disappointed with what I found. The pizza wasn't very fresh and the pepperoni really turned me off. The pizza was not too greasy and the crust was soft, but the taste was a little off. The fountain drink was actually pretty good, couldn't taste any seltzer in it. BK K. notes that they have great calzones so perhaps I will have to look into that in the future...but for now I think I will be looking elsewhere in the search for the best pizza in Tampa Bay.

  • BK K.

Amazing Food. I wasn't expecting too much when I walked into this pizza shop but the food was spectacular. I had a calzone and my wife had a slice of pizza. The calzone was hands down the best one I have ever had. You can taste the fresh ingredients they use and for the price there is nothing better in the Brandon area. I have gone back several time for the calzone and will continue to do so. If you are in the mood for Italian dining you need to treat yourself to this restaurant.

OK, I have been meaning to write a review for quite a while, yet knew something was missing for a solid review. We are loyal customers coming in for our weekly pizza/stromboli fix. However, there was one item we had been trying to sample for a couple months...the lasagna. I tend to judge an Italian restaurant by their lasagna, and before I could honestly rate Wize Guyz I thought I should include theirs in the mix. We are huge fans of independent pizzerias, and thus we have tried quite a few. It is easy to say that Wize Guys is near the top. Starting with our weekly standards of pizza and stromboli, like Marco (one of the owners) will be happy to tell you, there is something special about the crust. Whether it is the high-protein flour or the heat of the oven, the crust is consistently AWESOME. Next the sauce, it is evident that fresh ingredients are the basis blended in a savory, slightly spicy medley. Toppings are tops in quality, I can't comment on the variety, once we found our Italian sausage and pineapple combination we haven't bothered looking for others. The cheese crowns the pie in goodness. The large stromboli is perfect for the two of us and maybe a slice on the side. Tonight was the culmination of many weeks of waiting, the night for lasagna. While, my wife's is still tops in my book, this would be a close runner-up. There's is a densely packed construction of pasta, sauce, meat and cheese. The combination of the ingredients was balanced and very flavorful, my favorite aspect was the sauce. The sauce was a full-flavored, deep red glue that tied the dish together. Bottom line, if you want a slice, a pie, a stromboli or a pasta dish. This is the place to try in Brandon, remember this isn't the same Wize Guys from years past.

I really try to give this place a shot, but the last time I was here the GM/Owner whoever it was pretty much gave away food to I guess "his loyal customers" I love the pizza here but that whole experience left a bad taste in my mouth.

  • Curtis H.

Dirty table's service and food that was dry with very little taste. Server never returned once food arrived. Pizza might be ok,but avoid the Italian food,it takes forever to get your food, and after the wait,I was very disappointed. Spend your money elsewhere. A'C must not have been working or they are too cheap to run it. Must have been 85 degrees in the restaurant.

More Italian was not busy, but we still had slow service although the waitress was nice. I have had much better veal at other Mom and Pop Italian places. Oh, and that was before I bit into the staple in my veal and hurt my tooth. The owner/manager was flustered when we told him the news. He very awkwardly apologized and ran off to the kitchen. After a while he came back and offered to get me a new dish. I think I got spaghetti, but I wasn't too interested in eating anymore. Getting my second meal of course took 20 minutes so by then everyone else was done and I was checked out. The manager/owner then asked us if we would like dessert, implying that it was on the house (well yeah). When we received the bill dessert was not free. My wife loved dessert Before we left, we were told the staple came from a bag of flour or something that was ripped open and got in my veal. Whatever, I don't know where the staple came from, all I care if where it ended up, my mouth, but thankfully not my stomach. I wasn't charged for my meal, whoopee, and we were given a $10 gift certificate to come back. Guess what won't be getting used...

I moved here about a month ago and have ALWAYS supported local independent pizza and Italian restaurants. I tried a different place first and was disappointed. Then I found more Italian pizza! Oh thank you. Now this is Pizza! We loved it. The crust was perfection. I do make my own crust and sauce but I tell you a pizza oven makes it. I will make this our staple go to place. Which means a weekly fix by delivery. Only have had the pizza and salad. Would recommend any day.

I love these place. Every time I go to Florida I have to stop bye and enjoy their food from pizza to pasta and special dishes , the owner is true to his Italian roots, the staff is phenomenal and the price is very reasonable for the quality you get. Bona petito ...

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
