Lee House has went through a couple of changes in the two years they have been open. They first took over a buffet restuarant off of Bloomingdale that had been there for years. The previous buffet was pretty good and had a local following. Lee House went through a transition where they switched to being non-buffet and offering a traditional Chinese and Dim Sum menu, not just the American Chinese most of us are familiar with. That's when my wife and I fell in love with the place. Shortly after that, they closed down. A few months later, they bought another buffet place on 60. That buffet place had only been there a couple of years. It started out really good and went down hill really fast. I had stopped going there all together. When Lee House took over, the first thing to go was the buffet. It took them a couple of months to make the change over and they have worked hard to make the interior of the restaurant nicer...... That's not the reason to go though... The reason to go is the food. It's amazing. Everything is very fresh and very well traditional. Their menu will seem huge, because the front half is traditional Chinese and the back half is American Chinese. So if you want General Tso Chicken, you will be happy, but if you want to be a little more adventurous, try the front half of the menu and make sure you add in a few of the items from the Dim Sum Menu. I will admit, they have had some staffing issues as they have gotten going, but most of the time, the service is good too.

This is my favorite Chinese in town. Surprisingly, my favorite on the menu is the Thai Curry Chicken Panang. Absolutely delish! We come here often and the entire family loves it, even my father who is a N.Y. Chicken Chow Mein snob. I have never had a bad meal here. The prices are excellent, the staff is friendly, and you can call ahead and pick up at the drive through window too! No need for a buffet any more!!

The BBQ bun and shrimp dim sum were great. The chicken pad Thai and chicken curry pagnang are also delicious. Make sure you try the Thai tea. Dine in was made fresh. We've also had food delivered and it was hot and fresh. Portions are huge so be prepared for leftovers.

Sheer disappointment! I had heard that Lee House opened and that they were doing Dim Sum, so naturally I coordinated a group to go there. We had 9 people. We get there and there are probably 2 other tables there. Once seated with our water and tea, we waited and waited and waited for a cart to come around (mind you there are only 2)....and then when it finally did arrive, there were like 4 options and only 1 of each option. The cart was basically empty. We then asked if the steam cart would be coming around soon. They said yes. Again we waited and waited and got tired of waiting so we ordered some Beef Chow Fun and Salt and Pepper Calamari. Finally the steam cart came to us (they basically went slowly to everyone else in the restaurant) and again there were barely any options and only 1 or 2 of each. We asked if they could come to us first or if we could just tell them what we wanted, and they said no, not until the very end of the meal did they come to us first. The entire experience was entirely frustrating and we spent a fraction of what we normally do when we go to Dim Sum (not because the food is cheap, but because we barely ate). To be honest the food is not bad, the Sui Mai was really large and I liked the chewiness of the wrapper on the Shrimp Dumplings. But the service and food selection was ridiculous. I actually asked if this is pretty normal for weekends and the girl actually told me that they serve Dim Sum throughout the weeks, so they run out on weekends...they also did not have many of the items on the Dim Sum menu. I definitely do not think that they are ready to be open for Dim Sum business....

Place was empty Saturday at noon & for good reason, food was lousy, dim sum not authentic & service slow

I come from a pretty big family. The night we ate here, there were 19 of us. If you can keep us all satisfied throughout the dinner, you win our vote. We ordered loads of dim sum & even more loads of food from the kitchen. One bad thing: dim sum lady left towards the beginning of our dinner, so we couldn't get any more. WHY would you leave?! Lucky for the restaurant & us, their other food was delicious. HONEY WALNUT SHRIMP. My fave! Which means I'm very critical of the dish, but this one passed with flying colors. AND they had my dessert fave: sesame balls! I was a happy fat kid. :)

Have gone to Lee House many times over the last year. The food quality is always great, but the customer service is very poor. They have a very poor perception on time they tell you the food will be up in a minute, and 40 minutes later you are still waiting in the drive thru. I said something the guy at the window said it was coming right up and gives me 4 fortune cookies for the wait. 13 minutes later I simply asked for a refund. Food is great if you have forever to wait.

Have eaten in various Chinese Restaurants before in Australia, Philippines, Hong Kong, San Francisco, L.A. and N.Y. With China Yuan and Yummy House on the west side of Tampa, Lee House is the best one in the Brandon area. The chef and staff are very friendly, and the food is great! It's a good thing they don't do the typical buffet. They have the 3 entrees for $21 deal, which is enough to feed more than 2. The Dim Sum is also great. We always order the Mau soup, as well as jelly fish....where are the intestines? Young Chow fried rice is one of the best.. They do offer Vietnamese dishes to (as stated by a previous reviewer), but I'd stick to the Chinese dishes... Why would you go to a Chinese Restaurant to eat Vietnamese food anyways...smh? The only thing they need to add is a chop house menu (crispy pork and duck, etc...), like China Yuan, with noodle soup.

This place has the best Chinese food in the area. The chicken eggplant pot, beef and Chinese broccoli, and salt and pepper pork chop never disappoint!

Had three meals delivered Was disappointed that the food was bland and not warm Shall try them again but won't have it delivered. Their delivery was timely, and the deliverer was nice and polite. I took a long look at the menu and really want to try more. Shall let ya' all know about my next visit

I don't order Chinese food very often, but it's good to know when the craving strikes there a good place nearby . For a bit of money you get a whole lot of food.

I've ordered the shrimp fu yung 4 times and I got sick. My husband gets the curry shrimp and its okay. Not sure what happened over the summer but the delivery time was over an hour and additional fees beyond sales tax is being added to the ticket. I calculate my orders including tax, tip and delivery and they always round up 50 cents to $2.50. Such a turn off to add additional fees beyond tip, tax and delivery charges. When I pointed it out to the cashier she said. Oh sorry. Really four times in a row?? They are only getting 1 star because 1/2 stars are not available.

Food is good here but when you add in the combination of bad attitudes and pricey Asian food along with extremely long wait time for your food...this place gets less and less. I drove 3 to 5 miles pass this crap hole to go too Asian Kitchen for better food, attitude and reasonable.

This place has been the nearest and most real close to chinese food we can get just like back home. We used to dine here frequently but had a bad experience of having to wait for hours. We decided to give them a rest and didnt come back for a good of closely 2 months. Then we decided to come back to try it once again. Surprisingly, they still remember us and gave us a superb service. The interaction and service of Lucy ( one of the servers) came a long way of improvement from our last visit. If you're looking for more close to chinatown type of chinese food here in brandon, this is one of them.

The menu had a lot of options: Chinese, Vietnamese, and Thai. We were seated quickly. The waitress was apparently new and flustered but we were patient and understanding. I ordered summer rolls and chicken pho. My husband's spring rolls and chicken pot arrived before my summer rolls. My summer rolls arrived 30 mins into my husband's meal. They were warm and the peanut sauce semi-frozen in a proportioned container. I had to ask for the bean sprouts and garnish...I was exhausted and disappointed before I even got to the main course. If you are hunting for a mediocre meal, you have found the place. P.S. Stay away from the Thai and Vietnamese items

I recently stopped going to my Chinese place that I had been going to for a while, simply because of their Shit attitude, and due to the fact that if they told you 10-15min for your order to be ready, and you happened to take 20-25min to PICK UP they would call you like if they were a debt collector! And it wasn't because they wanted to make sure you got hot food. China Star, Valrico. LA fitness plaza, Stay Away! I found Lee House, and it has been a great little find. Not only is the food GOOD! But the also deliver, and the person that takes the order explains their dishes very well so that you know what you will be getting. You wouldn't expect a lot from the outside of it, But.... Friendly staff, good food, and they deliver!!

Their dim sum is fresh! It's what I order most of the time. Pork dumplings, steamed buns, sticky rice, they got it all! Made to order so it takes 20-30mins to come out. But it's worth the wait!

My new stop over on my way to Orlando. Fresh noodles, Dim Sum, not defrosted and not over priced. Service was knowledgable. spoke clear English, quick, to the point. Not the friendliest, and no smiles, but that is not a surprise at these places, unfortunately. Great eat and go.

Best authentic "sit down" Chinese and dim sum around. I'm from New York and have spent years looking for a good Chinese place in Florida. Lee House is fantastic.

Rough day after Gasparilla parade, went over here wanting some soup and chinese food. my girlfiend wanted Vietnamese rice noodle soup (pho) which we we've tried multiple places in Brandon. I was a little skeptical of the place since I'm 99% sure the people who were there are Chinese yet they serve Vietnamese and Thai food. To my surprise the food was very good. Pork fried rice was delicious, beef with szechuan sauce awesome, sesame chicken was good, and Pho was also good. It's not an authentic "deep" broth but it definitely passed me and my gf's Pho craving. We ordered Dinner combo and Lunch combo for the other 2 dishes and the portion was amazing. Egg rolls that came with the combo was BIG! fresh, hot and delicious. I'm normally not a egg roll fan but this was really good. Will go again, will recommend

Placed an online order. Waited 45 minutes and called to check on delivery time. Was told it would take another 45 minutes for my delivery to come. I'm sure it doesn't take 2 hours to cook Chinese food.

Food was actually really good but the welcome and wait server was bad. REALLY bad. Don't sit in booths with someone behind you or you can expect to feel every annoying move.

We ordered delivery through the EatStreet app. The food was really good. But the wait time was not. We live 5 miles away and it took them 2 hours to deliver it. Only some of the items we ordered were still hot.

Such good food. But they cannot keep up. Took 1 and a half hour for pick up. We were told 45 minutes. I asked them why so long and he said they have a small kitchen. If you order pick up don't go early or you will wait.

Stopped by here because we read reviews that they had decent dim sum and didn't feel like driving into Tampa. We only ordered about seven dim sum dishes, but for the most part they were pretty good. We also ordered and beef and garlic combination for lunch which was excellent. The fried rice was tasty and the beef with garlic sauce was flavored and had plenty of beef in it. When you walk in it looks just like any other typical Chinese take out restaurant, except there are more seats. Service was friendly and attentive. Would definitely recommend.

When they first opened it was the best chinese in Brandon. Now they are overwhelmed on weekends and the service for delivery or pickup is horrible. Poor customer service, dirty counter etc. Suffering from too much business unfortunately. The quality of food and service drops during busy times considerably. We have crossed them off the list after yet another poor experience on a Friday night pickup. Its a shame as we loved this place at first. Poor consistency over the ten times we have been here or had delivery.

I really enjoy the takeout. It is always very good and there is plenty of it. We ate inside once and the service was Very Slow. Last time I got take out, I was told 20 minutes. I arrived 15 later and still had to sit and wait 25 minutes for it to come out. They also forgot my egg roll. Again the food it excellent, the prices aren't bad and the people are nice. You just have to be patient and make sure you have everything before you leave.

This is one of the better chinese places in town that delivers! They also offer some Vietnamese and Thai dishes. The Mei fun is my favorite thing to get, and they have a ton of dim sum! The portions are big, and I haven't had a bad order from here. My only complaint is that the service isn't the best, even from the drivers. But for the consistent quality of food and cheap prices and delivery, I can overlook that.

I attempted to order delivery. I called at 6.00pm. The woman on the phone said the food would be delivered in 45 to 60 minutes. I called at 7.25 (1hour and 25 minutes after ordering) to check on the status of my order. The woman said he should be at your house soon. I called back at 7.40pm,1 hour and 40 minutes after placing the order. The woman on the phone offered to take $5.00 off. I told her to cancel the order. No apologies or any professional accountability by the resturant. At 8.15 the delivery driver called stating he was in front of my house (2 hours and 15 minutes after ordering). Appearently he did not know that I already cancled the order.

Everybody knows I am allergic to shrimp. LOL. However, the Lee House forgot. So it was late and I returned the food the next day. To my surprise they were so kind. Offered to remake my dish or credit me for my next visit. I decided to get the credit to see if the would honor it at another date. And tonight they did just what they promised. They remade my dish, without the shrimp, and it was so good. However, if you order delivery have a pen ready because the driver does not carry one (weird).

I'm a little torn, I really feel like this is 3.5, not quite 4 but deserves more than a 3. I've been searching for Chinese food similar to what I'm used to in Chicago and this is about as close in quality and taste as I've come so far. My favorites here are the fried rice, orange chicken, and mongolian beef. The egg foo young is a little different than what I'm used to but still one of the better one's in this area.

i literally go here almost once a week! they may not have the friendliest wait staff, but the food makes up for it. this is one of the only places i will order chinese from in the tampa/brandon area, because i know ill never be disappointed!

Please keep in mind that there are retarded writers who give *explicit word* reviews. Most of the complaints were based on take-outs and the slow delivery service. I don't believe in Chinese take-outs or delivery anyways (only makes the quality go down). However, if you eat at the restaurant, the food comes out quickly (4 of our dishes came out in less than 10 minutes). Moreover, if you look at the other reviews those idiots gave for other restaurants, you will see that about half, if not all, of their reviews on Yelp are just complaints. The only person I would say is somewhat legit is Connie C., a fat person who says she "hearts" food and eats at a lot of places. She was upset with this restaurant for not having enough food when the dim sum cart came to her table. They served this style of dim sum at the old location, and they have stopped since they moved to Brandon. MY REVIEW: The food here is comparable to popular Chinese restaurants (popular as in the restaurants that Chinese people know to go to for authentic food), IF you order the right dishes. I'm Chinese, and I have gone to many Chinese restaurants in Florida, other states, and Hong Kong. Not to brag, but I can say I know as to which dishes are good and which taste bad. The walnut shrimp, fish with black bean sauce, fried calamari, General Tso chicken, clams with black bean sauce, Hawaiian pork chops, Singapore noodles, and the beef chow fun are tasty. I haven't been there enough to try the other dishes, but what I have tried so far has been good. You should also look into the Thai tea, which is what I always request when I go there.

Garlic chicken is the bizness! Nice quality all around Chinese food. The lunch special is an excellent value. You get a soup or eggroll with your meal along with your choice of white, chicken fried rice or pork fried rice. The Chinese broccoli is also tasty.

This is the only Chinese restaurant that I have found in the Brandon area that serves up decent food. It is hidden in a Publix plaza off of Brandon Boulevard, tucked behind an Arby's (in the same plaza as The Rack Brandon). I used to frequent their Bloomingdale location before for dim sum and their delicious Seafood Chow Fun dish. I was sad to see that location closed and I thought I lost them forever! But, just this week I found them again at this new location. The tinted windows and glowing signs, plus the strip mall location make it seem like just another take-out place. But, it is in fact much different. It is not as good at Yummy House or China Yuan, but comes in a close third and conveniently located in Brandon. They have a great dinner special where you pick three dishes from a menu for $21.95. It is a pretty sweet deal condisering that the dishes to pick from are no joke. Like; Seafood in XO, Roast Duck, Sliced Beef with Gai Lan, etc. We ordered the Sliced Fish Filet in XO, it was a great dish and the fish was delicate, but still held up well with the XO. The Salt and Pepper Squid was just ok, but still better than some other places. The Crispy Peking Pork Chops were _perfect_... Their specials menu is also posted on a board near the front door and they have Ong Choi (Water Spinach) fried with garlic for only $6.95 here. Some places charge $14.99 for this dish!

Lee House Chinese Restaurant has re-opened on Brandon Boulevard after closing off Bloomingdale Avenue in March. I first read about Lee House online and was intrigued at the positive reception. The first thing we noticed upon pulling up to the restaurant was that it smelled great outside the restaurant (a good sign). Once we entered we were seated immediately and given menus and water. The waitress was an older woman who knew the menu well. After much deliberation (the menu is a few pages), we decided to order the Lee House Special (similar to Yummy House's 3 for 20 deal). We selected Salt & Pepper Calamari, Beef with Broccoli, and Young Chow Fried Rice which came to $21.95 total. Quite a deal when you dine with some friends. Plenty of warm food came out quickly. The Salt & Pepper Calamari was delicious. My favorite calamari dish now belongs to Roy's, but this calamari was still quite delectable and was a good stand-in for the calamari at Yummy House (my favorite until recently). The calamari was a little chewy instead of crunchy, but had lots of flavor. I was a little concerned that it had jalapenos on it (I can't take spicy food), but the jalapenos brought the calamari a great taste. We finished this plate down to the last bite. The Beef with Broccoli was also fantastic. The sauce was made just right and the beef was tender. I am not much of a vegetable consumer, but my friend loved the veggies on the plate. The Young Chow Fried Rice was a nice complement and wasn't dry. I am not much of a rice eater, therefore anytime I actually enjoy eating rice, I know I am having a good meal. The food was enough to fill three guys and I was impressed with Lee House. There are very few good Chinese restaurants in Brandon and dining at Lee House was enjoyable. I really want to try their Dim Sum in the future. From the Dim Sum menu the Deep Fried Taro, Custard Cream Buns, and Juicy Pork Bun caught my eye. Glad this place was able to find a new home in Brandon. I will be back!

This is really a 3.5 star, but given it is Brandon, I decided to upgrade to 4 I was debating whether to go in to the restaurant at all, as it has a drive-through window. I have never seen a decent restaurant, Chinese or otherwise with a drive through. Well, it turned out to be a nice surprise. Most items on the menu are American Chinese, but there is a Chinese insert offering a good value and decent quality 3 dish combo for only $22.95. Good size serving too. The Chef is Cantonese and did a good job with Sauteed Chinese Broccoli with garlic. The XO fish is tender and tasty, but I wish he didn't include those canned vegetable as in many typical American Chinese dishes. I could only finish half of it. It is worth a return visit to try out their dim sum. A fellow yelper commented on lack of smile from the server. I got that first impression too. I realized after dinner that it was just her style and we shouldn't read too much into it.

The food was made fresh and tasted great. Reminded me of when I was in the orient and had the fried rice. I've found my new favorite Chinese restaurant. I can deal with the decor which is a bit dated. If you go in the evening, ensure you sit with your back to the window. The sun was blinding.

So, after my review was posted I got a reply from one of the owners of Lee House. He was apologetic and offered to make up for my bad experience. THAT'S THE SPIRIT!! I agree that everybody makes mistake and I am always willing to give a second chance. That attitude alone worth the extra two stars I am giving now and will update this review when I go back again.

WORST FOOD EVER!!! New to area, went in because I saw that they had PHO. OMG, my husband and I could not even eat it!! The pho was made with dried ramen noodles.. we also ordered summer roles which only had one shrimp each inside... The bill was about 50.00. Needless to say, we will NOT EVER return!!

Our family has been frequenting Lee House both via take out and sit down for the past month and the food and service has been generally good. Though we've never seen the cart, the Dim Sum is fantastic and we have always just ordered off the list. We've yet to have a bad dish off of the Dim Sum menu, but not all of the dishes are available on any given day (though I suspect all of the regular/popular items are always available). The Pork Siu Mai is hands down the best I've ever had. The House Fried Pan Noodles are exactly what I get at a Cantonese restaurant in California that I LOVE and I am so happy I've found a place near by that makes them (and the portion is very big). However, I can't say the same about the regular/Chinese menu. Almost everything we've had has been very oily. I realize that the far majority of dishes are fried or deep fried, but I've never had Chinese or Chinese-American dishes that I could pour almost a quarter cup of oil out of the container. We ordered Pork Fried Rice and it was probably the worst fried rice dish I've ever had - it was heavily saturated in oil and soy sauce and was burnt. I'm not sure how someone thought it was edible. The "Egg Foo Young" is the deep fried version served with brown gravy. It was so-so, but again, it was extremely oily and beyond overcooked to the point of being having that burnt flavor without being totally black. The General Tso's chicken is in no way spicy and again, is overcooked and dry. The Moo Shu Pork was so oily that I had to drain it (I wish I could say that the liquid was excess sauce, but it solidified in the container I poured it in) and it, too, overcooked on the verge of being burnt. Also, it didn't come with hoisin sauce, but I dont think the sauce would've covered up the oily burnt flavor. I thought maybe they put the hoisin sauce in with the dish and cooked it together, and if they did, the sauce flavor must have been washed out with the oil. The Spicy Shrimp, however, has great spice and makes great left overs with a bowl of white rice. Recently, we used one of their online coupons to get free Egg Rolls, but they were definitely not the same egg rolls from the Dim Sum menu. The ones we received with the coupon had a fried tortilla-like shell, as opposed to the ones on the Dim Sum menu, which are more like a spring roll. Again, like the regular menu items, it was overcooked and, honestly, tasted like the egg rolls I made in college when my roommate and I got the idea to make Chinese food ourselves. You know, they're not that great, but they're edible. They were free, so I can't complain that much, but just a heads up to those who use the coupon. While I know I am not giving their regular/Chinese menu a great review, the Dim Sum really is awesome and Lee House is our go-to place for take out. While I highly suggest to sticking with the Dim Sum menu, I do hope to try the duck and steamed fish in the future.
