I've had good meals over then past 10 years and I've had food that was served days old. If you order on the weekend you'll probably get fresh food. The problem I had was that even though I would spend $30 or over every time I would order "to go" they started to get stingy about giving me extra Gen. Tso sauce. One day they really messed up on my order, shorted me soup and watered down the sauce terribly. This was not the first time they messed up on my order and we got shorted. I put up with a lot from this joint but that was the very last straw for me. We returned all the food from that particular order and asked for a full refund. The jerk manager calls me at home after we got the return and asked me why didn't we eat or try all the food that we had returned. This call was totally unnecessary as my husband explained throughly that the service and food had declined over the years. He went into detail about what was missing and what they did. So to recap the mgt. does not care about providing good service. They don't check to make sure you receive all that you pay for. They could have charged me more for the extra Gen. Tso sauce but never asked for money they just decided one day to water the sauce down until it was gross. Also, you never receive more than you order just less. I think if you order on the weekend it's 2 star and if you order on the weekday it's 1 star. Good luck!

I go to the Publix on Kingsway where this restaurant is near a lot, and thought I would give this place a try. I ordered the Chinese BBQ Ribs, and was quite pleasantly surprised. Instead of the usual "kibbles and bit's" you get when you order BBQ Ribs at most Chinese places, I got 4 full sized meaty ribs, cooked to perfection, with a very tasty Chinese BBQ Sauce all over them. Yum! They were served over a bed of really outstanding pork fried rice. I could barely finish all that food, so I took home the Egg Roll, and gave it to my friend. Service was great, and even though all the few tables in the place were full, the owner actually moved menu's and decorative stuff off an unused corner table, so I had a place to eat. I will be back here for sure, the next time I get a craving for Chinese Food In Brandon.

No deliver wee. Most food is dried or just just plain over cooked. Egg roles go from freezer to fridge therefore their full of oil. Like cut open pour out oil. No kidding.

Tried them for take out - I'm usually highly skeptical of Chinese food but this place is fresh. I tried the steamed dumplings, chicken lomein, beef n broccoli, egg rolls, and the Kung pao chicken. All were good, but the dumplings (and the sauce) were the best.

Best New York style chinese food you will find in all of Brandon and I would venture to say all of Tampa too. The prices are average but well worth it. The fried rice is great, the house fried rice is even better! And yes, the fried rice is brown not yellow. That's one of my biggest pet peeves when it comes to chinese food. I get the General Toa's every time, its perfect every time. The Crab Meat Rangoon's are awesome as well. Service is quick, just call it in ahead of time.

Nestled in a nearly abandoned shopping center on Kingsway Road, New Hot Wok could possibly be the best Chinese/Thai take out in town! We used to hit a couple of different joints but this one has stolen the show. It's no more expensive or greater distance to make pick it up (as they do not deliver) but they do absolutely everything right. My suggestions are: flip the menu over and order from the Thai side. The curries are heavenly, the spring rolls (not summer) are spectacular and the fried rice is to die for. The owners are the cutest and sweetest people I've ever met. They give us Thai tea while we wait for our food to be delivered, the mango/cucumber salad pictured below is also tossed in on the house. They recognize us when we walk through the door and offer a kind good bye when we exit with way more food that is necessary. I would recommend this hole in the wall to anyone in town and am sure to make a visit myself at least once a week!

This place is right around the corner so it was very convenient for us when they first opened the food was superb and fresh the owner had 1 cook other than himself that was with him for a couple of years unfortunately he left and now there have been several attempts to replace them his wife was the cashier all I had to do was walk through the door and she knew what I wanted .They have been slowly going downhill and the last 2 times we ordered from them the noodles were very mushy and greasy there was hardly any meat in the dish and the egg rolls had a vey old greasy flavor to them we did not even eat the egg drop soup as it had a bad smell to it. The food is way over spiced even when you ask them to tone it down we like our food spicy but when you choke on it because it's so hot it ruins the meal.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
