Diabetics at Pizza Hut

Pizza is neither a great meal nor the worst for diabetes. All you need is some fact check and monitoring while ordering your pizza. Diabetics can opt for thin crust or skinny pizza at Pizza Hut and avoid the cheese topping to cut down on the excess fat and sodium. If you have diabetes, then ensure to check your portion size when you order a pizza. One or max. two slices are enough. You can also avoid meat if possible and go for wings as a meat option.

Foods to Avoid at Pizza Hut for Diabetics:

You must avoid Meat Lovers Pizza with Original Pan Crust as it contains over 1000mg sodium and will add 470 calories in your meal. You should also skip Super Supreme Pizza Large Original Pan Slice which is too high in sodium and fat. Chicken wings are often tempting but you must control and restrict yourself from ordering Traditional Honey BBQ Bone-in Wings as it can add up to your sugar levels if you eat too many. On average, a person orders or consumes six chicken wings pieces in a day.

Sides must be avoided at all costs especially if it's Bacon Cheddar Fries with Ranch Dipping Cup for its high sodium content. You must also avoid New York Style Cheesecake with Applesauce as dessert as one slice of this dessert item contains 86g sugar. Pizza Hut also offers other Italian dishes such as Pasta. However, you must skip Spaghetti with Meat Sauce and Meatballs and Garlic Bread as it is too high in sodium and sugar.

Whether large, medium or small, a pizza can boost your cholesterol levels instantly. You shouldn't eat more than one slice of any pizza your order at Pizza Hut. Love the Pizza! Best pizza in Florida. The only place we go when we want pizza. Not fancy, just delicious.

  • Doug B.

When I want good pizza I travel here. It's about 15 miles from SE Winter Haven but well worth the trip. Prices are reasonable and the pizza is great. I compare other pizza places to them and have not found a better pizza since moving here 10 years ago. always looking for a closer on but none can beat Pizza Connection.

If you like thin crust pizza this is the place to go. Family owned, not a chain. Very popular pizza restaurant which speaks for it's self. I do recommend giving then a try. They also have sandwiches, salads and beer. I actually think their BLT is one of my favorites.

Maybe it's because I was raised on this, but the pizza is worth double the price! Bacon and ham is unreal, not sure where they get their ingredients, but they are top quality. The service, cleanliness, and kids running wild would run most people away. Trust me, hang in there, just sit down at the dirty table and enjoy.....best pizza in the states, right here in Polk County

Been eating pizza here for years and have not been disappointed yet

Inexpensive, clean, and easy. We walked in and it was clear that this is a favorite spot for the locals.

Some of the most tasteless cardboard like pizza ever. Crust: thin and flavorless. Sauce: bland and no flavor profile. The toppings: mediocre at best. Go to your grocery stores freezer section, find the cheap little personal pizzas and that's exactly what you'll expect out of here. I will admit I was the only one in the family not raving about this place but idk what they were thinking.

  • Chad P.

I'm not even a fan of thin crust pizza and I STILL love this place. Its consistently a go-to spot for family pizza night. The pizza is deceptive because each 3 inch square slice is only a few bites. This makes me keep reaching for another one. Since its cut into squares, most slices have toppings to the edge. Enjoy this atypical pizza.

This small town pizza place has a great rep for pizza and they sure looked yummy. However, I came here not hungry for pizza, so don't have a spectacular review. The place was busy with a large to-go order and there were huge pizza pies everywhere waiting to go through the oven. The help seemed frantic and it took a long time to get to me to order at the register. Prices were spectacular. I got a small salad for about $2 (lettuce, tomato, small piece of green pepper) and a half sandwich for $3. I chose a mushroom/steak sub. They give you a number and rely on shouting it out as they look through the crowd for who might have that number. Kinda lout and chaotic. Bread toasted nicely but the meat was a 3/4" thick, gritty pressed piece of mystery meat of non-specific flavor. It was NOT fresh steak nor shaved steak. It was covered with a spoonful of canned gravy & mushrooms. Edible but not pleasant. Really deserving of one-star, but I reminded myself I was in pizza territory and their prices were great. Maybe next time I'll stick with their specialty.

If you like THIN crust and thin toppings, this is the place. Not much sauce or cheese. This is like having a little bit of pizza on a very thin crispy cracker. It must be an acquired taste.

  • K K.

Been going here for years & nothing has changed. Love their pizza & sandwiches. The Roast Beef sandwich is good, alittle greasy for my taste, but overall a good sandwich. Not a fan of the (hot/cold) ham & cheese. Not enough flavor & taste like something I can make at home. I love their pizza. Thin crust & very crispy, just the right amout of sauce & toppings. The location has limited seating, and always busy. Best to order to go (ahead of time) & do a pick up instead of trying to find a seat after ordering. The employees seem confused sometimes & the place always seem frantic. Sometimes you get a rude employee taking orders. Last time I ordered inside, the employee was smacking his gum & I could barely understand a word he was saying. Overall, great prices & great pizza.

Been getting pizza here for years, only takeout though. The thin crust is great and I also recommend the steak sandwich. They have a website where you can order and pickup later.

I have been eating Pizza Connection for 25 years. Even before they moved to the location they are in now. I'm actually waiting for them to open so I can order a pie for lunch. The cornmeal crusted bottom is awesome thin pizza. I haven't eaten anything but pizza, so I can't comment on their sandwiches but I will continue to eat their tasty pizza as long as I'm around. Friendly, hometown people and southern hospitality. J Burns opened back on Cleveland Heights in Lakeland so I drove over to check it out. It was good but not better than PC. I will stick with the A'Dale staple, PIZZA CONNECTION RULES!!!!

I've heard about this place from so many people that I had to go try it for myself. What makes Pizza Connection different from other pizza joints? 1. They cut their pizza into squares...yes, I know what you are thinking. Who cares? And you are right, the shape of pieces really doesn't matter. 2. Great seasoning on the pizza, which gives it great taste! 3. This pizza has what I like to call "cracker crust" - thin and crispy. I prefer Chicago style pizza, but this was rather good. Ohh yeah I went at 11:20am and thought I would be the first person there. Nope, there were already about 7 parties who already seated. If you are in Auburndale this is apparently the place to be.

Amazing establishment, that's been in the community for over 20 years! There is no pizza like this anywhere around central Florida; its a thin style pizza, and they cut the pizza into squares. I suggest the ham as they use shredded ham, instead of sliced ham. They also have great sandwiches, of which I suggest the steak sandwich.

  • Chris P.

Best pizza around. They cut it into squares instead of the traditional triangles. Crust is thin and crispy. Our favorite topping is ham and onion. The ham is finely diced and sweet.

Good pizza, friendly people. Great for kids and birthday parties. Very casual. Good amount of seating.

Love this place. We winter 6 months there and really miss the pizza when we are north. One of our first stops when we get back down.
