We were in an ice cream mood on the way back from NYC, and Sweet Lucy's seemed to fit the bill. My GPS led me right past it, but it was worth the roundabout trip. There are a ton of flavors available, many of which would require explaining. My daughter and I went for blackberry chip, and my wife had her usual strawberry. Both flavors were excellent, and there are numerous options beyond the usual cup or cone. I had a cup with a waffle cone spread out in it, and my daughter had a cup with a waffle cone stuck on top so she could fill it up herself. Prices are good ($10.50 for the 3 of us), and the place was full of regulars even on a chilly April night. We met some nice, if argumentative Wilmington natives. I'll be sure to stop by again if we're on the road and in the ice cream mood again.

Great ice cream, I recommend the orange/pineapple. The seating area REALLY needs an upgrade but other than that, I love it.

Cant do better then this place for ice cream. We live outside of Philly and drive to DE just for Sweet Lucys. Amazing service, great prices, love it!

Baby and I love to stop in at Sweet Lucy's for ice cream. They serve Woodside Farms ice cream (including some flavors specially made for them). Now, Woodside Farms might not be the natural, farm-fresh ice cream its name implies (see my separate review of them for details) but it sure is tasty and we like trying new flavor combos from the friendly folks at Sweet Lucy's. We've even committed the heresy of skipping Charcoal PIt's sundaes after getting burgers there in favor of Sweet Lucy's. Hope Baby doesn't lose her native Wilmingtonian card for that!

wonderful ice cream. you pay by weight, not by bowl/cone size (unless you order a sundae). they have one of my favorite flavors, cotton candy. but they also have so many tempting other choices that i end up sampling half of them before going back to my regular (or a combination of a few). they also sell candy.

I am INCREDIBLY picky when it comes to milkshakes. After almost 3 years of living in DE and I hadn't found a shake that met my standards. I had been going to Sweet Lucy's for their incredible ice cream (I love Peppermint Chip) since I moved here and finally decided to break down and give the shakes a shot. SWEET LUCY!!!! This place has the best shakes I've had in years. My new thing is grabbing a shake from Sweet Lucy's an ordering a hot dog or two from Five Guys down the street while I wait for the shake. A PERFECT combo. The only downside to their incredible shakes and ice cream is that I now compare every other shake and ice cream to Sweet Lucy's - and I am disappointed with every other one (even ones I used to enjoy!). Besides the perfect product it's just an awesome place, great location and super friendly, young staff. I love it. My kids love it. My wife loves it. Simply a great place!!

The ice cream was so great! They also have awesome summer hours for when you're craving ice cream later at night :) Absolutely delicious.

I am so sick of the trendy fro yo franchises popping up all over the country. Sometimes you want ice cream (hard OR soft depending in your mood) that's made with REAL ingredients and doesn't taste like chemicals. Sweet Lucy offers it all...soft and hand-dipped ice cream that is delicious. The soft serve happens to be low fat, but it doesn't taste like it. Their hand-dipped comes from a local creamery. I drive over 20 minutes for this place when I have a craving for ice cream.

Peanut butter, cookie dough, and coconut is my go to!!! I bring all out of town visitors here... friends, parents, boyfriend, etc and we love it. Such a sweet treat and the portions are big so beware :)

I was a bit disappointed that they advertised Frozen Yogurt and didn't have any but the ice cream I had was delicious! So glad I decided to have a small but rather generous cup. The staff was also very pleasant and the atmosphere was very nice.

When one of my cousins asked if I wanted to do something crazy and drive 30 minutes to Sweet Lucy, I jumped at the suggestion. Besides I'm not one to pass up on an opportunity to go shopping at the mall nearby. So here we are at Sweet Lucy having the most delicious strawberry icecream I have had in a very long time. This ice cream is to die for. The drive suddenly didnt seem too crazy. My cousin had the hot fudge and it was good. If I had to pick on something, it would be the service. Service here could do better but the ice cream is really delicious.

The Hot Fudge Sundae with coffee ice cream was well worth the 5 mile drive! It was also such a generous portion that I had to throw part of it out! Very nice treat!

I like this place. The ice cream is good every time. You can get just about anything you want on your cone/cup. Waffle cones could use some work though. Service is usually ok, however they are usually teens who sometimes don't seem vested.

Stopped here on the way back from a dog park outing. I had a thick vanilla shake (you have to specify--and pay extra--for a "thick" one), the Better Half had a strawberry cheesecake waffle cone, and the four-legged son had a small kid's cone. The milkshake was a happy surprise. I'm a milkshake/malt snob and have found only one place in town that makes 'em right (Charcoal Pit, incidentally right the street). The shake was thick, rich, and flavorful. The cones are priced by weight, so you can get as much or little in them as you want. This is nice because we wanted big scoops for the adults and small scoops for the pup. The ice cream was of decent quality and enjoyed by everyone. The only complaint is that the strawberry cheesecake ice cream would be better if real strawberries were used instead of that strawberry glaze-type sauce. Prices were high but you get what you pay for. Our three items came to $12 and we'd gladly pay it again. The only better ice cream we've found so far here is at the University of Delaware Creamery but if you aren't up for that drive, Sweet Lucy's gets the job done in Wilminton just fine.
