Had an extremely good time here on Saturday night. Met up with friends and had dinner outside on the patio. Our server (Daniel) was nothing short of excellent! Recommended a nice wine and was very knowledgeable about the menu. Draft beer was icy cold and selection was impressive. We ordered salmon, sea scallops, NY strip steak, and crab cakes. All were excellent except for the strip steak, which was over cooked well past the medium rare ordered. We never felt rushed and really enjoyed the deck and nice cool summer evening. I would recommend this for a nice time out.

Have eaten at Harry's Seafood dozens of times now. After my most recent meal, though, I'm left feeling like, "There's nothing to rave about," especially for what we paid. It's good - especially for Wilmington, which ain't sayin much -- but great it'ain't. What Harry's Seafood has going for it is its location, size, and lack of comparable competition. And that, my friends, doesn't win big horse races in the end.

Staff is well intentioned and friendly. They are not; however, trained in the subtleties of service expected at this restaurants price point. First I ordered mussels in the sherry broth and while the mussels were tasty, the broth was bland. I appreciated the healthy touch of spinach and tomatoes though. I also placed one order of Hawaiian fish sushi, which while I didn't record the name found tasty. I was debating between dessert and another savory course when the cheese selection caught my eye. While I've found that many Delaware restaurants offer a cheese plate, this is the first I bothered ordering because I felt confident the chef knew his or her stuff and felt excited to try it. I was not disappointed. The flavors of each where either immediately robust or subtly complex. The accompaniments felt like a guilty pleasure, so generous and obviously homemade. Even those candied walnuts contained a peppery note that really added a surprise. The melted caramel on the toast...all I can say is . What a good job! How could they disappoint me after? I guess this goes back to service. I had two bites of cheese left on my plate and asked for a bit of wine to match it. The server poured a half glass and charged me on my bill. Really, nothing could disappoint more.

We usually come here for half priced oysters because outside of the special window they're expensive, some $3.50/piece. The atmosphere is great. And the bartending duo is always friendly and helpful. The entrees are priced on the higher end of the scale. And sides are a la carte. One person drinking a water could easily spend $45-50. The alcohol selection is abundant and up to date, but also very pricey!

I came here with my mom for a quick bite to eat and a drink before my train. We sat at the bar and both bartenders were great! She approached us right away (although it wasn't too busy). They have a gluten free menu and the bartender was so knowledgeable about the g-free options. She was explaining why each menu item wasn't gfree and if/what we could change to make it gfree! We got the sherry clams and gluten free crab soup. Both were good. We were in a bit of a rush and they were very accommodating and made sure we were on time.

Decent place to eat. I had a seared tuna dish, which was good (not fantastic). A bit pricey for what you get overall. I suppose this is the "it" place for this area.

Came here for a work dinner, on the pricier side so if you're company is not funding this you might want to come here on special occasions. If you're a baller then by all means go ahead. Service is super friendly! We got the Seafood Nachos for 3 people ($24.95)- Blackened big eye tuna, crabmeat, key west pink shrimp, pico de gallo, monterey and pepper jack, chipotle salsa verde -Needless to say we couldn't finish this. This can probably feed like 4-6 people. Big plate. The nachos were pretty decent. I also got the king salmon sashimi ($6) for three pieces- super fresh and delicious! For my main course I got the lobster salad & boston bibb (~$22)- tons of lobster (very satisfying if you have a lobster craving). I was not a fan of the boston bibb though. I'd recommend getting just straight lobster if you're not a fan of the boston bibb (type of lettuce). I wasn't sure what it was until I ordered it, prob should have asked. The seafood was super fresh so I'd def recommend coming here if you're in the mood for fish! The place was filled with people who came for dinner right after work.

my review is based on the price point....good solid offerings but when you consider the prices, I am having a hard time with the third star. I've had lunch and dinner here a few times and each time I walk away saying "food was good but the prices were a bit high". Sometimes I have some Benjamin's burning a hole in my pocket but many occasions I am searching for good value. If you are interested in good, fresh seafood, please, by all means, give it a try. Very nice atmosphere, ok location, and service has been good. For whatever reason, I cannot get past the $3 oysters when they cost $0.35 at the local (NJ) harvester.

The atmosphere is lovely. The menu is thoughtful and different but a tad overpriced because of some unnecessarily fancy "foodie" type words. And more importantly when a restaurant is using fancy unfamiliar culinary school words I look to my server for answers. My server fell a little short on this. But not to be discouraged, we googled a few things, ordered, and the food with the extraordinary descriptions was just average leaving us both feeling disappointed. However it is right on the water and has a beautiful view. The decor is gorgeous and would make a fantastic spot for happy hour for drinks and appetizers. The staff was very friendly. I just felt the burn of an overpriced meal for average food.

Love this place! We come here often and whether we are at the bar or in the dinning area, it is consistently fabulous. Drinks are a touch pricey but honestly worth it. Their wine list is one of the top in town (for Wilmington anyway). We can't come here without ordering the tuna sashimi with truffle salt. I crave this dish. And everything else is amazing. I had the haddock last night; best I've ever ordered. Great place for fun, romance, or family dinner.

The last time we ate here, more than a year ago, the food and service were both great. My how the mighty have fallen. The service was absolutely terrible (we had to ask for water, seconds on our drinks, to be able to place our order (the waiter didn't offer when he brought our drinks), to get the check (20 minutes after our table was cleared), and even to get the waiter to take our money). The food was mediocre, certainly not worth the price, but that may have been because our waiter walked by and told us our food was being plated... But didn't bring it for another half hour (by which time it was all cold and the soup had a thick film on it). The seafood nachos were very good and that is the only thing that saved this from being a one star review. We won't be back any time soon.

I have to agree with another Yelper, the price was a bit high since we kinda left a lil hungry. We had the rainbow tiradito, good but chips were soft. Crab soup, $7.25 for a oversized bowl with about a cup of soup in it. The soup was good, not great. I had the big eye tacos, they were good, but I think the tuna was over cook, had some crunchy pieces and needed more pico. The wife had the mahi and shrimp mixed grill which was the biggest disappointment. 3 shrimp, which were good and a tiny 1.5" x 1.5" piece of mahi over some romaine lettuce, come on people gimme something for $17. Dressing was very good though. And $13 for a margarita special, tastey or not that's overpriced for a place connected to a market overlooking a rather industrial area of the river. We expected more. Otherwise the place seemed very nice....

So glad we stopped in Wilmington on our way to DC. Excellent seafood - rockfish and softshell crabs. Everything was delicious.

  • Marc W.

Loud is OK but when the staff adds to the loudness, it's a bit much. A hi tuna entree was drowned in a soy sauce making the tuna barely recognizable.

Ok why lie. I came to Harry's because I have never been to Delaware. I was in town onbusiness in Philadelphia, I took the train to Wilmington, mapped out the nearest decent restaurant which led me to Harry's. It has a lively dining room with more tranquil outdoor seating overlooking the river. I had the Hamachi Ponzu which was just awful. The cut of the fish was all sinew and the gory bloody stuff you don't want to see on your plate and it was watery and lacked flavor. The appetizer arrived before my wine which is always nice. Makes me feel very welcome. Thanks Harry's. Then I had the crab cake appetizer which was quite good, but hard to enjoy on the heels of my previous dish. The wine selection is decent, I do like that they do flights. Another nice touch that they have at Harry's is that they have marks on the wine glass so the bar tender knows precisely how much wine to pour so as to control cost I suppose. Harry's has a big business rushed sort of vibe but sort of middle of the road. Now I just need to figure out how I'm going to get to Alaska and the Dakotas...

I just recently left my job at Harry's but I must say the food is great and the staff is pressured to give the wonderful service they provide especially my favorite server Marvin. Also if you're dining save room, Tina the pastry chef is just as sweet as her desserts, they will never disappoint. Especially the white chocolate bread pudding.

I came here Monday evening for dinner at around 5pm to a pretty much empty dining room. The bar had some folks, but if you're looking for a quiet dinner spot early in the evening, this is it! Also, they have blue cheese stuffed olives, so you gotta go for the dirty martini! I had the crab soup, which was more like a vegetable soup with crab, not that I minded, but definitely not what I was expecting, although they didn't say 'cream of crab soup' so maybe that's my fault. I thought it tasted pretty good, maybe a little salty and sparse on the crab. I then had the sashimi sampler, which was surprisingly robust and large! There were 2 large, thick pieces of salmon, tuna, and white tuna (?) and 4 or so pieces of something else that I wasn't sure what it was, but tasted good and had wasabi beads on it (love it!). It also came with a healthy amount of seaweed salad. Definitely a steal for $14! For entree, I had the lobster salad. I was a little underwhelmed by this. The lobster was a little rubbery, like it had either been over cooked or was just old. However, I enjoyed the plentiful amounts of lobster that this dish provided! Also, the bread service is lacking, I was sad by the not warm bread that was hard to spread the cold butter on... but not a huge loss. Service was great and food came out perfectly as I finished the previous dishes. Kudos to my waitress.

Harry's Seafood is consistent. There are standards that are good. Bar area is loud. A good place for seafood/fish in the Wilmington area. They are losing a star from me for the restroom situation. Every time I am here, and have to go to the restroom, I realize I am using a "public" bathroom. It is in the vestibule between the restaurant and the public market next door. Not what you would suspect for an upscale restaurant. They really should consider putting in a private restroom for restaurant patrons only. Remember dining is about the entire experience!

We have been going to Harry's for years and have always considered it a favorite place. The food is always excellent and the service is great. We had lunch yesterday outside on the patio-- fried oyster salads and champagne and it was wonderful! Thank you for always being so great-- Daniel, Marvin and Kenny :)

Nice outside patio with a great view , service was just ok,, lobster roll was disappointing - too much celery and cilantro,,, steak ordered medium and was cooked well,,, drink was made wrong,,, I've been to Harry's Savoy Grill twice over the past twenty years and was disappointed but thought I'd give the seafood house a chance,,,, we won't be back,,, I'll wait to get my lobster roll in Maine

I'm from miami and I LOVE stone crab. This is the one place I know of around here that has it and it's great! We also got clam chowder and big eye tuna tartare. Delicious! Also a great view of the water outside

Visited on a Saturday nite. I had raw oysters. I was amazed of the selection of oysters that they have on the menu from different parts of the country. The bartender was very knowledgeable about their oysters. I had the ones from Mass. Very good and fresh! Very satisfied. My only complaint is how cold that it was in there! My friend and I were freezing!

Went there last Friday (09/12/14) and for the FIRST TIME EVER, sat in the bar and ordered from the Happy Hour Menu. Tempura Asparagus ~ Lightly Battered, Crispy but not Raw, although they were fried, NOT greasy at all. Served with Sriracha Mayo. Spicy and Creamy. Trio of Burgers ~ A few bites of each sandwich was just enough for me. Crab Cake, Burger and a surprisingly flavorful hot dog! Harry's Potato Chips and Caramelized Onion Dip ~ Don't bother...boring and uninspiring. Coconut Butter Cake with Peach Jam ~ Wonderfully chewy with a great mouth feel. Lovely thick peach jam. Portion was sized perfectly.

I just ate at at Harry's Seafood Grill on Friday 6/5/15. The first thing I noticed was there was no valet parking and the small parking lot fills up quickly. The additional parking is across a busy intersection, so the lack of valet parking was mildly annoying and quite inconvenient. I next noticed how casual this restaurant is compared to the more upscale Harry's Savoy Grill. I can appreciate a more casual restaurant especially with outdoor seating and a great bar, but the price point is identical to the fancier Harry's...& the service and food quality is NOT. Our server wiped her nose on her sleeve in the middle of the dining room before we were even seated. She also failed to bring bread even after she served my Caesar salad. We had to ask for it and even then it took her a while and it wasn't very busy in the dining room. She also didn't pre-bus in between courses so our table was crowded. I can deal with this at a fish and chips joint or take out spot but here it was obvious she needs a service training refresher. The bartender made me a vodka gimlet that tasted like cough syrup (he didn't use fresh lime juice like they do at most restaurants where the entrees average $30+.) He literally drizzled some Bottled Rose's lime in it and didn't stir it or shake it, and then was rude to my gentleman suitor when he walked the drink back up to the bar himself. (We couldn't find our server). Management comped my next drink and that was kind. My surf and turf was good the grits served with the shrimp and steak were texture challenged but overall it was tasty. Finally, the dessert that was highly recommended by our server it was "popular" blueberry item. She compared it to a French toast style dessert but it was very apparent that it had been microwaved it was chewy and not fresh. I love dessert and I had only one forkful. Had things not ended on such a sour note with the dessert I may not have even yelped but that just sent me over the proverbial foodie edge.

Did a business lunch here and it's a good spot for it. The menu is great and has lots of good seafood salads and sandwiches for lunch. It would nice if they had more lunch plate options like a catch of day with rice and a veggie. Had the crab dip to start which was great, and a crab cake sandwich for lunch. I didn't want fries and the only other option was side salad or green beans. Would be nice to have more sides as an option. Server was nice and attentive. I will definitely be back for another lunch or maybe dinner.

I've been to this restaurant a few times & it's definitely a love place to have a great lunch on the water. It's well-located and has a great ambience. The starfish decoration in the center is amazing!

I've only been here a couple of times. It's really nice during the warmer months because of outside seating. I always get the seafood nachos, very large portion to munch on especially if you just want to have a few drinks and hang out. Seafood is always fresh and delicious. All of our experiences have been great. Can't wait to visit once summer comes!

One of the best restaurants in Wilmington. Every menu item is fresh, unique and prepared perfectly. I find the raw bar to be defining.

I came here last night for dinner with two coworkers on the company's dime. We had a drink at the bar, which was full, before dinner. They had a great selection of beers and specialty drinks that were half price until 7. Awesome happy hour. The people next to us were eating various appetizers and all looked good. We sat at the table and were greeted immediately. There were only 4 other tables occupied, so it was a slow night. For appetizers we had the Cesar salad, crab soup, and rainbow ceviche. The salad was very good. The dressing had a good blend of anchovies and cheese. The soup was very average. The ceviche was excellent. For entrees I had the king salmon, and my coworkers had the lobster cioppino and the Cajun seared trout. My salmon was disappointing. I had better at Bonefish grill last weekend at half the price. It was a little dry, and didn't have much flavor. The lobster cioppino was ok, but the piece of lobster I had was extremely chewy. The trout however was excellent. Great seasoning. The ham sauté really made it. For dessert my coworker had the baileys cheesecake and said it was excellent. Our server was very friendly and attentive, so no problems with the service. I just expected more. I would go back for happy hour, but not to dine.

Fantastic Service, Fantastic Seafood, Fantastic Views! Harry's is an institution on the Wilmington Waterfront for a reason, They're Just that Good! Great Happy Hour, and Bar Specials. Knowledgeable Bar & Wait Staff. Spot on "Fresh" Seafood. Great, Plump, Juicy Oysters from the North, East & West Coasts. Perfectly Cooked Seafood. Great Outdoor Dining with Great Views of the Wilmington River Front. My suggestion, go to Happy Hour for your Discounted Drinks & Apps, Make an "Open Table" reservation for dinner. I dined at Harry's when I was in town for a business trip. I sat on the back patio and had a nice view of the river. I got the Blue Point and the Sigoku oysters, crabcakes, and a Dogfish 60 Minute, all were delicious. The crabcakes had a lot of crab in them and not much breading at all, which was great. The sauce that came with it was amazing. The service was quick and attentive, but I felt a little rushed. Also, the timing of the food was off. Suspiciously, my crabcakes came out WAY too quickly, and my oysters arrived much after that. I thought the location was decent. The area surrounding the restaurant was kind of shady. A little spooky, like a ghost town. But then again, that's how most of downtown Wilmington feels like.

We had lunch at Harry's on Sunday afternoon. It was our first visit and we had an amazing experience. The food was delicious. Large portions and extremely flavorful and fresh. The atmosphere was beautiful with a view of the canal on the sunny afternoon as the boats went by. It was 90 degrees therefore we enjoyed dining inside but plan to return soon on a cool evening to enjoy the deck. The service was over the top great!!! Our server was so attentive. We can't wait to go back!

Wasn't sure what we wanted but started and finished with Goose Island Sofie a Farmhouse Saison, slightly hoppy finish farmhouse ale was crisp and had a malty undertone with green apple and a tart mouthfeel absolutely delicious. Then we shared a tuna and crab appetizer combo that was really good. I love the little slivers of Yukon gold chip crisps as a garnish. The lime emulsion for the Tuna was the bomb and if you don't like soba noodles then stay home. The truffled fries with Parmesan was good but the fries were like little pieces not whole fries... A bit disappointing, still good though. Had to have a second order of the Tuna app and $170 dollars later for the two of us we walked out full and happy! Oh I forgot the dozen oysters... Blue points

I had the Oven Roasted Carolina Porgy, smoked watermelon, asparagus, basil & pine nuts, black river blue cheese Chantilly. Partner had the Buttermilk battered soft shell crabs, minted coleslaw, sweet chile butter. I had Elkhorn Oysters,(Wa) nice medium, plump. Delicious! This whole meal in all it's parts was awesome. So tasty. You've got to have some $, dishes are around $26-37. If you live Seafood this is the place to come, if your trying to impress yourself and someone else this has great atmosphere. James my waiter even lit a mosquito candle for our table outside, by 9p they are big as flies...

I think this was the Better place for Seafood in Wilmington, DE... was great. I actually LOVED the Clam Chowder, I went back to get more after I left another seafood restaurant. The Service was also Great. I suggest in Wilmington, DE give this place a try.

I graduated from my Master's program this past weekend, and I wanted to go somewhere memorable. I had never been to Harry's, but have heard great things about it. It was a definitely a memorable dinner. The decor is nice. It's not too fancy, but it had a mature feel to it. For appetizers we had a dozen Blue Point oysters, the rainbow tiradito ceviche, fried calamari, and boiled shrimp pot. Everything was delicious. The oysters tasted fresh; they needed very little sauce. The ceviche was amazing; it reminded of a Japanese-style dish. The calamari were fried just right. The boiled shrimp was the silent winner. The waitress suggested the shrimp, however, it was not even on the menu! The broth the shrimp was in reminded of something one would find in New Orleans. For dinner, I had the 1lb lobster in the rough. This was a delicious, messy meal. I cannot recall the last time that I had lobster that tasted so great! There was also a lot of juice in this guy, which made for a very messy dinner. Even though I was given a bib, my dress shirt had to be washed after this meal. The lobster was very tender, and needed very little butter because the meat was so flavorful alone. Someone on the table had scallops, and they were even soft when they got cold. I don't think I've ever had scallops that were so soft when cold. For dessert, I had the creme brulee, which was very delicious. The deserts others on the table ordered were also delicious. This was a great dinner for a great weekend. If you are a fan of seafood and you are in Delaware, Harry's is the place to go to.

Going to have to give it a 4 for well prepared fresh fish. But the overall experience is always more like a 3. They tend provide efficient but cold, uncaring service. Seem happy when you leave. Just more like an assembly line--competent meal but not a culinary experience

Lunch with friends today. I had the fried oysters and a small mixed green salad. I love the oysters so large and juicy. Hot and fresh. The salad was small but was really big enough. The toppings were barely there but overall ok. Not sure it was worth $8.95. Fish and chips a big favorite. Very busy and the wine looked great!

My friend and I went for lunch to celebrate the end of the holidays and we were very disappointed with both the quality of food and service. The crab cake was bland and the spinach salad tasted like it was drenched in vinegar to point of being inedible. Our slapdash waitress never asked about the quality of the food. For the price we paid, we expected more. Feel free to take our next reservation as we won't be back baby.

Harry's is quite over priced and uninspiring. Despite the cost, the portions are tiny so you will have to order a lot of dishes and the bill will continue to climb. I was simply hoping for a good piece of grilled fish and they were unable to deliver. My swordfish was unevenly cooked and otherwise unmemorable. The ceviche sampler was complete uniform in taste. The best item we had was the truffle mushrooms which were surprisingly flavorful and tasty.

  • Ann M.

Great service and a nice atmosphere . Crab cakes had 2 much filler for the price. The sushi exceeded expectations . The salad with the crab cakes was great but that's all that came with the entree. The chocolate cupcake dessert was divine I would give it 3.5 stars but it has to b 3 or 4

My friend and I just went to Harry's for dinner and were seated outside. We went through the menu and were picking things out, but sat there as table after table were seated and wait staff catered to them while no one came to our table. At least 4 tables were seated and visited by a server after we arrived. We tried to get the attention of someone to no avail. We finally told someone who said she had to find out who our server could be, but she had no idea. At this point after 20 minutes of waiting at what is supposed to be a nice and pricey restaurant, we headed out. We mentioned it also to the hostess tonight and she just looked at us puzzled and said "oh sorry". As we left. No one tried to help us even as we said we were frustrated. I do not recommend this restaurant to anyone.

Had a lovely pre Christmas meal here on a Monday night. The shrimp boil was delicious as was everything else. The only complaint at the table was the fried oysters were just "ok." Marvin was our server and he was excellent. Would highly recommend!

We frequent Harry's Seafood Grill at least once a month and always enjoy the FRESH Seafood and unique Sauces. However, the service always seems to be a bit lacking. Maybe too many tables per server? On our last visit we sat at a bar table and watched and waited...and waited...and waited as our drinks just sat at the bar for the waiter to pick up and bring over to us. I finally had to go over to the bar or maybe we'd still be waiting. And what is with having to always have to remind our waiter or waitress to bring bread which is delicious once it arrives. We will continue to enjoy the food at Harry's Seafood Grill and prefer it over Harry's Savoy but we have become very leery of the service.

Harry's Seafood Grill is a nice gem, right next to the river front. I was blown away by the relaxing atmosphere, service (waitress was Ally), and seafood. I tried the blue point oysters, big eye tuna & yuzu tobiko tartare ceviche, grilled rockfish, and pan seared barnegat light sea scallops. The appetizer and dinner were amazing. The oysters were fresh. The ceviche was drowned with unique soy sauce and sesame oil flavors. The grilled fish was season/cook to perfection. The giant scallops were probably the best I've had in very long time. The garnishing vegetable of the scallops dish were very unique, hard to describe but it consist skinned grape tomatoes and potatoes fingerings soaked in a nice light wine sauce. This place is 5 stars on my book. Cheers...

If it was possible to give this place zero starts I would! My boyfriend and I just had dinner here tonight and it simply wasn't worth it! We had the crab dip for appetizer, it came cold. The Salmon was chewy, absolutely no taste, just plain terrible! I am a vegetarian who would occasionally eat salmon and hands down, the worst Salmon I have ever had in my life! Our waiter seemed nice but not once did he accidental even ask how the food was, even after he saw that 90% of my dish wasn't touched and didn't want to take the left over home either! Overall terrible experience wouldn't recommend it to anyone

Another great meal at the bar. Enjoyed a very nice sampling of sashimi. All excellent as usual, especially a fan of the king salmon. Also had the crab cake sandwich which was fantastic. Side of the tempura asparagus was very tasty as well. Always enjoy this place but seldom bother ordering the entree selection.

This may become my favorite restaurant! The seared scallops were simply perfect! The farro was so flavorful in the seafood sauce and the slaw which had apple in it set it off. The apple crisp was just OK. I could have made better at home. But I tasted my mom's blueberry cheesecake.... It was so blueberry! I'd go get that dessert to go anyday!!

my gps really did not want me to find this place. eventually i turned to google and found it! i was in wilmington for work and needed a place to eat where i could sit a bit as i had some extra time on my hands. found this place and it was great! i sat at the the bar and the bartender was very nice and accomodating. the bar itself is beautiful as is the rest of the restaurant. i had the scallop cobb salad, it was fresh and delicious. 3 perfectly seared scallops atop the basic cobb salad ingredients (minus egg, which is good, i don't like the hard-boiled eggs). the seafood all looked really good and fresh, i'd def go back here!

Dinner for one please. $101.20 + $18.00 for tip = $119.20 for one person. This should be a good diner right? Not really. I ordered Iced Tea first and let my waitress know that I would have a Merlot with my diner. She was very helpful with good suggestions for a first timer. Bread came with my tea and I was excited. The butter/spread was cold and I could not spread it at all so that was a bust. The bread and butter just sat there. The bread from it's lack of aroma only dared me to take a bite without anything spread on it. Maybe I began to expect less by now so I began to think the Iced Tea was not really made with much love. It was just average with a nice lemon wedge. The Tea was acceptable. Again, my ever vigilant waitress was quick on the refill and even replaced the whole glass when she came by for the third tip off. $12.95: Appetizer was ahi tuna poke. I hate Cilantro and there was lots of it. Tuna was good but very salty. I ate very little of it and had it taken away. $77.00 for Lobster out of the shell and a 5 oz fillet mignon. The fillet mignon was very soft but a tad bit dry. There was plenty of Lobster but for the life of me, I just could not get that Lobster rush. If you've had decent Lobster, you know what I mean. So the Lobster for a very strange reason just seems out of flavor, out of texture and lack-luster. $8.75 for a 14-Hands Merlot, which of course is always OK anywhere i can get it. The small little round potatoes were enjoyable. The green beans had great color were enjoyable and a little on the fun side to eat. Picking them up with my fork and chomping off half just like they do in the movies. From the start, I knew this was going to cost me a lot of money. So I set my mind not to get upset if the meal was not what I was expecting. I chalked it up to experience, remembered the little potatoes and how hard my waitress worked for me. Nevertheless, the food was disappointing and the experience quite forgettable.

Great fish here plus oysters and ceviche. We ordered the skate wing and the rainbow trout. Nice wine list as well. Parking was available in the lot. Nice ambiance with open kitchen and raw bar (oysters, sushi, ceviche-all good). New menu every day based on what is available. Dining room is warm in dark woods and Williamsburg blue walls. Gas-fired fireplace and lots of windows overlooking the river.

We had a very good experience here today. We started with salad (7.95, but a generous size, and dressing that tasted freshly made), complimentary rye bread, butter that wasn't hard as a brick (a feature that is often overlooked), and an Old Bay shrimp boil. The shrimp boil was tasty, fresh, and a generous portion for two or three. For our mains, we had crabcake sandwiches. They were plated with pickle, alfalfa sprouts, cole slaw, REMOULADE!!! and fries. The remoulade was wonderful. The crabcake itself was broiled, and was very good. The service was friendly and on point. There was only one thing I would change about our experience. Our seating was next to a small service station that held pitchers of water and some other items. The servers were having conversations directly behind us and they were loud enough that we kept thinking they were talking to us. It was distracting. Fortunately itt's something that can be easily remedied with some help from the management staff.

Harry's Seafood has a main restaurant and a smaller to go shop both in the riverfront market place. This review is for the smaller shop in the food court. Harry's has daily specials. I went on a Wednesday and had the special which was shrimp burrito. The burrito had the smaller shrimp and was very tasty. It however was not very well rolled and kept falling apart when I tried to pick it up. The salsa they used was different and very good with seafood. I also had the fried fish sandwich with fries that was also delicious. The fries are cooked in peanut oil and taste similar to 5 guys' fries. The staff was also very friendly. This is a good lunch break spot to go to and I will be visiting again.

Local yokels in this DE "metropolis" may think the seafood is fresh and the wine list extensive. But a meander outside "these here parts" will serve as an awakening. The fish is not fresh, rather frozen for days. And it's cooked in a very uninspired way -- blackened, grilled, for the daring, Cajun. At to the place that local big fish in the small Wilmington pond sit at the bar trying to impress women. I had the fish tacos and it felt like I was at an upscale Chi Chis --- complete with MenAtWork on the sound system. More Wahoo Tuna Nachos, please (read: sarcasm)

Great Restaurant on the Wilmington waterfront. If your an adventurous eater this is your place. I have to give fair warning~ it is very expensive!!! Having said that you will experience the freshest seafood. They have oysters from the East and West Coast~ which are a real treat for me and my family. Here you will also find sushi dishes along with Japanese appetizers. I enjoy coming here because of the unique items on the menu. The atmosphere is very calming and I love the sizable bar.

We've had our holiday luncheon for my department at Harry's for the past five years and I've never been disappointed. The lunch menu is great, the service here is excellent, and the seafood is fresh as can be! I absolutely love that they have had the $15 2-course lunch special on the menu in the past year - you get a decent amount of food for a good price. In my most recent adventure to Harry's, we got the calamari, shrimp boil, and crab and artichoke dip for appetizers. All were awesome, though I wish the crab and artichoke dip came with more dip and bread. The calamari comes with a delicious avocado dipping sauce (even better with some sriracha in it). For my lunch, I ordered the Thai Colossal Crab meat Salad that is pretty much one of the best salads I've ever eaten. The crab was fresh and plentiful; the salad dressing was a great soy-lime vinaigrette. The majority of the rest of the party got the crabcake sandwich, which is pretty much a tradition at this point. No complaints from the table! Dessert wasn't happening for me until I saw the dark chocolate cupcake on the menu - it was unbelievably good. And thank goodness Harry's was able to hook me up with a glass of milk for that dark chocolate piece of heaven! As always, Harry's did a great job and I'm sure we will be back again at the end of the year! If you have a chance to go here, I highly recommend it!

Delicious, fresh seafood expertly prepared and quickly served. We got the cold platter of shrimp, clams, oysters, king crab legs, mussels, and salmon ceviche. Wonderful waitstaff- very attentive. Highly recommend!!!

We went here for dinner while out of town to celebrate our anniversary. We were really excited to have dinner here! We used the address on their website on the GPS (101 S. Market St. Wilmington, DE 19801) and we ended up in an empty parking lot on the other side of the river! I called the restaurant & they said to use a different address (1 Orange St). They did not explain why the address was completely different. We finally arrived & the 3 hostesses completely ignored us. So we decided to sit at the bar. After a while we got our drinks. The bar was not that busy to wait as long as we did. We decided to get some raw oysters but the bartender was chatting it up with other customers (Looked like there were friends of his) We got the oysters (which were delicious) but we had already decided we were not staying for dinner after the lack of service. When we received our bill we were shocked... $46 for 2 beers & a dozen oysters. Very glad we did not stay for dinner!

What a disappointing experience! We just walked out of the restaurant after sitting for over twenty minutes with NO acknowledgment by any of the servers. We would have accepted it if they were busy or if our server came over to say hello to alert us that they will be with us shortly but nothing. We watched as other patrons were being seated and were giving their drink orders. In the meantime, we didn't even get water let alone any eye contact. It was just blatant and rude. On our way out, we asked one server if she has our table and she replied no and said she wasn't sure but will find our server....Wrong answer! Then, we told the hostess the situation and all she said was "oh, so sorry"... WRONG answer again! What a lame response and No effort to keep the clientele. So Maybe this type of service is acceptable in Wilmington but they should know that service and dining experience trump food quality. I do not recommend this restaurant if you are looking for a good experience.

Ate here with a friend. I ordered Pan Seared Sea Scallops with fresh english pea & carrot pirlau, truffle sauce, and shallot-pea tendril salad and she ordered Crabcakes with arugula, fingerling chips, shaved fennel, roasted garlic aioli, and spicy tomato fondue. I gave her 2 scallops and she gave me a crabcake. We shared an order of lobster mashed potatoes. This was the best meal that I have ever eaten in all of DE. Absolutely fantastic!! The scallops were cooked perfectly, the crabcakes were all crab and no filler, and the lobster mashed potatoes were creamy and delicious with huge chunks of lobster. The waitress was friendly and knowledgable and I will definitely be back to try more on the menu.

So it's 3 strikes you are out for Harry's Hospitality Group. You can read my ratings of Harry's Savoy Grill ( yelp.com/biz/harrys-savo… ) to see why I say that. This was my first time at the Seafood Grill. I had been given a $50 gift card from Judy, a manager at their Savoy Grill (read my review - yelp.com/biz/harrys-savo… - and you will know why.) This is a pretty location, on the Riverfront in Wilmington, Delaware. It's attached to the Riverfront Market. I overheard our waitress, Jennifer D., saying to another customer that she had been working there for about 2 years. I would have expected something better then. I uploaded a bunch of pictures. I ordered their calamari for an appetizer; it had fried jalapenos in it. Also the aioli was better than Harry's Savoy has to offer (they have some sweet tomato one that doesn't go well.) For my entree I ordered their grilled chicken breast, mostly because none of their seafood looked appealing (since it's still early in the season.) But also I wanted to try their sriracha mashed potatoes which was $5 as a side. The chicken came with the potatoes, "sugar snap peas and a sweet soy and ginger corn sauce." First off, I've cooked with sriracha and the mashed potatoes just tasted like a 5 year old squirted a sriracha bottle into the potatoes. I've also cooked with soy sauce and ginger and the corn was just gross. And I wasn't going to pay $22.95 just for a chicken breast. I do not like to send food back to the kitchen but this was a meal I was not going to force myself to eat (after the last meal I had at Harry's Savoy Grill.) So, I had to send it back. My waitress, Jennifer D. didn't even ask me what was wrong with it. I would have told her the list of things that was wrong with that dish. She took my plate and brought me out a menu. Then I see her go to her manager, I think his name was Jerry (he was a little guy with a suit) and I read her lips from across the restaurant. She was basically mocking me and since Jerry wasn't facing me, I could just read his body language and he seemed not to really care and was enabling the waitress to run her mouth. Also, there were couple regulars behind my table and Jennifer D. had no problem doting on them. Yet she did not do that for my table. She was not attentive and would walk by several times without even looking at me or my guest. After looking at the menu, again, I ordered their soft shell crab. And this time the manager Jerry, brought it to my table with a grin on his face and he apologized but again, no one ever asked what was wrong with the chicken dish. The crab, the little salad and sauce on the crab was great. My guest and I ordered dessert. I ordered the rhubarb berry upside cake and it wasn't good either. I had about 2 bites and didn't even finish it. My guest did not really like her meal either (not for Harry's prices.) She ordered their slow braised short rib with a raspberry chipotle BBQ, honey cumin sweet potato fries, with a buttered pickle and red cabbage slow. I had some of it and the rib was okay but the rest of it was sort of a mess. There were a few times where my guest and I were just sitting waiting for Jennifer D. to come back to our table. It was funny when she finally brought me the check she elevated her tone and tried to be chipper as she handed it to me, trying to get that tip. The check was $108 so with the $50 gift card I paid $58.75 out of pocket and even that was too much for the quality of food that my guest and I received today. And I tipped less than 10% because of everything I listed above. When I get good service I tip 15-25% so for me to tip so low is something I don't like doing. But I believe a tip is earned. I wrote on the back of the receipt, a little note telling Jennifer D. why I tipped so low; that I saw her mocking me to her manager and how she should treat all customers the same and not be so "snooty" to new customers. Because new customers are potential return customers. There were a lot of older people there and maybe their taste buds aren't as sharp anymore or maybe people are getting drunk and can't taste as well. Because I don't understand why these restaurants need to add unnecessary ingredients to their food. These dishes came out as a mangled mess not a culinary symphony. Simple is best and let the quality of food speak for itself. It seems like regulars get more attention and maybe get better food. This is just my experience but because of it, there is no way I can give that amount of money to restaurants who are so hit or miss and clearly do not care about my business.

Was such a beautiful day Saturday we decided to eat al-fresco. Harrys has a HUGE outdoor area, most with nice views of the river and we had a nice table. The place was busy and the service was a little slow, but we took in the sights and things were good. Had the seafood plateau; most items were fresh but I thought the shrimps were a bit tough. Had the lobster cioppino - big disappointment. Was like someone took a can of stewed tomatoes, water and the fish ingredients and brought it to a boil. AND they charged $42! Had the Harrys house chardonnay which was nice and reasonable priced. Overall, a 3 star experience.

Not the biggest fan of seafood but this place was really good and tasted really fresh. Went on Valentine's day with a few friends and wasn't very impressed by the menu. They told us that it was a special "valentine's day menu" so everything was pre-selected. I ended up getting the Blackened Big Eye Tuna Tacos, my friends got some Sashimi, and Ceviche. I also had the clam chowder which was one of the best I've had. Pretty good. Would go back!

Mr. V and I went to Harry's Seafood Grill on the Riverfront. I actually really like this place - It's my King's Fish House, my Enterprise Fish Company in Los Angeles. The food is always good and fresh, and it's loud and noisy, and on this Saturday night, it was busy. Oysters. Always at the beginning. If I could live on oysters, I would. Except, if you ask Mr. V about this entire experience, he will remind you of the "dirty gym sock" oyster that had a more pungent smell to it. It tasted fine...no it didn't make him sick. They were delicious, though. Salty, briny, amazing. And the few gulf shrimp? Plump, chilled. Mr. V is picky, and scraps every last thing out from them, so don't ask him about shrimp. The jalapeno ceviche was a winner though. He hogged the plate, I could barely scrap chips away. Chunks of fresh scallops with diced tomatoes and jalapenos. It was refreshing and a good contrast to the oysters. Mr. V said he could make a meal out of it. If you ask my dad, he'll tell you my favorite fish is rainbow trout. Make sure you ask him before he has his own martini, because then he'll say his red wine... that's a lie. Though it's not...it's true. It was my first fish ever, and I've stuck by it ever since (first seafood was octopus, I was seven, and hooked. they say the same about christianity...true story). I wanted the Maryland softshell crab, but we're going to Maryland next week, so I'm saving my first time for then. More scallops for Mr. V's entree. His personal favorite. These were good, too. Soft and lightly seared, with a cherry quinoa in the middle. YUM. My dessert was a cheese plate: abbaya de bellocq (sheep), blue de basque (sheep also - and it's BASQUE), pont l'eveque (cow's milk). That puree up there on the left is truffled date puree, as rich as it sounds. Figs, walnuts, honey buttered toasted bread. Sound amazing? Yes. Super duper rich. I would eat this for brunch everyday with wine. And Mr. V ended his dinner with the vanilla cheesecake...which really was vanilla in cheesecake form. The hibiscus was really a nice touch. I wanted to eat it. And may have. Don't tell anyone. I really do love this place. It feels as if I've found my fish place. And it has a smashing bar. Got to have that bar.

Nice place for seafood in Wilmington, right next to the river park. Premium oysters from MA is good, and nice 60min local Delaware beer. For entree I ordered pan seared black eye tuna. It was excellent. My friends ordered Sashimi of tuna and scallops and crab cake; they were both very nice. Price is a bit high though.

This restaurant has been a favorite of ours in the past. Quality has greatly declined recently. On our recent trip I ordered scallops with vegetables and a grit cake. The scallops were under cooked (raw), the grit cake was bland and the vegetables were burnt. I mentioned the burnt vegetables to the waitress after we ate. I wasn't looking for a free meal but I did expect the manager to come over to our table which did not happen. We ordered creme brûlée for dessert and it was also under cooked with a barely there sugar crunchy layer on top. Overall a disappointing experience for such a high price. Because of the high quality experiences in the past I will give the restaurant one more chance.

5* location; 5* ambience; 5* view of the river, birdhouse exhibit and foliage; 4* food but 3* desserts. The desserts were 5* delicious artistic creations during my previous visits; did they get a new pastry chef? Warning: don't put their white cloth napkin on your lap if you're wearing dark slacks, unless you don't mind white lint all over your slacks. They seriously need to replace those napkins. I noticed two women wearing white slacks sitting at the next table; I wonder if they're regulars. James, our waiter, is excellent.

Ate here for "Delaware Dines Out". Had a lovely seat on the patio and the weather was gorgeous, so we were off to a good start. The salad portion was out well before our drinks. I thought it was somewhat strange, but then realized that the "special" menu was being rushed out to us. Or so it seemed. Particularly when we got the bill and my wife was charged $0.25 for each olive in her martini (four total). A $10 drink and you are charging me for olives? Everything was good, nothing spectacular. The restaurant missed an opportunity. Instead of giving us smaller plates of standard dishes, they should provide the "Dining Out" customer with a dish which illustrates the capability of their chef and keep us coming back.

Liked it A LOT. Wilmington is not exactly at the forefront of dining trends so was really happy to find this place with cool decor , good wine and a menu with about 40 things on it that I would have been excited to order. Settled on the soft shell crabs which were expertly fried and served with a minty, spicy coleslaw (sounds odd but it was delicious). The bread , the salad, and the fries were super. Only disappointment was the lobster mashed potatoes which were under seasoned. Probably all overpriced, but who cares. It was fun , different and the best meal I've ever eaten in Wilmington.

After checking Yelp for a good place in Wilmington, DE, and not being happy with the choices, I let my GPS find a nearby place in the downtown area and I picked Harry's, and I'm so glad I did! A lively place with lots of activity going on! I sat at the bar and had a 16 Mile Old Court Ale, and ordered a couple of appetizers: a couple of Blue Point Oysters, which couldn't have been better, and the Hamachi Sashimi, which melted in my mouth! This came with some seaweed salad and ginger. Just a great start! For my entree, I had the Harry's Blackened Big Eye Tuna Tacos and this was one, tasty dish! It comes with black beans, guacamole, sour cream, and salsa fresca. My bill totaled $30.75 (pre-tip), so I was within my per diem budget. I look forward to coming back here the next time I'm in Wilmington!

Limited dining options in Delaware notwithstanding, Harry's Seafood offers a consistent delivery of seafood (raw bar and cooked), salads and meats. I personally enjoy sitting at the bar and ordering the seafood plateau (without the lobster), lobster mashed potatoes (for some carbs) and assorted tapas. An oyster shooter is a good start to drinking, followed by a decent mix of seasonal beers and mixed cocktails. Tuesday and Thursday offer a great value for oysters/clams in the bar.

If you're a seafood lover and don't mind paying a lot for fresh fish, this place might hit the spot for you. Their service is great and the place is really pretty inside. They're really creative with their entree dishes and are always changing their menus. You'll pretty much like anything you get, but I would skip their clam chowder. You're lucky if you get two clams, plus the soup was pretty bland. Their portions may look like average sizes but the thick cuts of fish and meat really fills you up! I do recommend saving room for dessert because they have amazing gelatos! Overall, it was a good experience, but I still reserve this place for special occasions or for lunch.

The service was amazing...and that's where it ends. To be fair, the oysters and steamed clams were awesome. But our main courses lacked flavor and for the price, I expected much more. The presentation set me up for success but my taste buds were let down. We continued to dessert in hopes that we would be uplifted. But again we we're let down. The restaurant is beautiful and Jordan, our server was very professional and knowledgeable and he's the reason why I gave an extra star. The executive chef needs to call a meeting with her cooks and tighten this ship up.

Stopped by Harrys with some friends for a dinner out. Most times the repeat meals are never as good as the first due to phenomenon known as regression to the mean (won't review the statistical implications here). However, dinner tonight at Harry's was excellent once again. Oysters were fresh, plump, and juicy as usual. While served with several types of sauce, I do prefer just a little lemon to enjoy the salty and creamy oyster flesh (no Hawaiian Chili pepper water in Delaware) shine through. The main dishes are changed based upon what comes in. Tonight they had fresh Wahoo on the menu. I had to get this after all Wahoo or Ono just reminds me of home. This was a great choice. The Ono flesh was firm yet tender. It was cooked well without being overdone. The apple risotto was creamy with tender grains of rice and sweet apple chunks. The risotto was a nice complement to the Ono and was not gummy or pasty in the least. Dessert tonight was the rhubarb berry upside cake. The cake was moist with a tight crumb and somehow virtually melted in my mouth. The rhubarb was delicious with a sweet fresh taste when mixed with the berries that definitely brought in summer for me. Overall I was astounded by the meal and desert tonight.

Service was friendly, food was okay, though the lobster of one of my dining buddies was tough and didn't seem all that fresh. Not a horrible choice if you want seafood-themed food in Wilmington, Delaware. Then again, Wilmington, Delaware should NOT be your first choice when looking for an above-average seafood grill. DEFINITELY not worth the steep prices! What is it about this town and their self importance issues? Maybe if the locals would realize how boring and quickly dieing their city is, they'd work on getting better City Hall leadership and grow a sense of quality and service which might be better in line with the pricing of many of their local eateries.

Food was really good--worth 5 stars really but giving 3 for service. Our waiter was just absent. I'm sure this is not the norm but worth noting as it made our experience less enjoyable.

Well, I have to say that I've seldom experienced the culinary offerings of Wilmington, having known it under its nickname as the Chemical Capital of the World. Until recently, such nickname evoked "wonderful and appetizing" scenes as the Love Canal or the Cuyahoga River in the 1960s with food to match... Much has changed and Wilmington is now known more for banking than for air and water pollution. The riverfront now sports shining new high-rise condos and townhomes, an architectural gem of an authentic Furness train station, now undergoing a foundations to clocktower renovation; a riverwalk, and new restaurants. This past Friday evening, my partner came over to pick me up at the Wilmington station and we took advantage of the location to have a little tour of the immediate river area. And along with that, was dinner at Harry's. The first feature of the large restaurant is the excellent views of the river front, walk and new downtown architecture. That alone makes for a nice environment. Then there's the huge outdoor area, which on a nice day makes al fresco dining a wonderful experience. Friendly staff, and on-the-spot seating. We asked for outside seating and the Maitre D' graciously obliged, seating us with a wonderful outside view. Service was good. Not outstanding, but solid and efficient. We asked for the calamari appetizer and it came as a genuinely light and tender dish that had us begging for more. We then shared a house salad with blue cheese dressing that was excellent. My other half had crab cakes and I had the escolar dish. Both were outstanding. Dessert was creme brulee and it was genuine. Together with three glasses of wine, the bill came to $100.00. Not cheap, but on the other hand, compared to DC, a bargain and it included the views. We lolligagged for a while after dinner watching the river traffic, joggers and passers-by on the river walk, as well as the constant train traffic a block away. Overall, a great time and one that will hopefully be repeated. Steps from Amtrak

I came by Harry's after watching Don Draper and Roger Sterling spend a lunch eating trays and trays of oysters on the half-shell and drinking pitchers of martinis. I had to have uncooked sea creatures. To eat. Large amounts. I started off with their sashimi sampler, which I thought was decent, but I expected better quality from the kind of restaurant Harry's wants to be. I had asked for no wasabi because I have a strong aversion to horseradish, but they ended up using wasabi flavored roe to decorate the scallops. The most egregious offense, however, was stacking the scallops on a slice of lime. Sure, it made for a nice presentation, but the bottom piece was partially "cooked" from the citric acid by the time I got to it. All in all, the sashimi scratched an itch, but it wasn't something I'd rave about. Next up was my oyster tray. I got a sampler of all the different oysters on the menu, which was fun since I'm still learning my oyster preferences. They came with a really good cocktail sauce, a lemon-pepper oil, and two, measy slices of lemon. The presentation was nice, but I'm less refined when it comes to my oyster toppings of choice. All I need is a good squirt of lemon juice with a dash of tabasco to go along with that plump, delicious bit of flesh that tastes like the ocean. I also ordered a side of fries since everybody around me had fries on their plate, and I started to get fry envy. The fries were delicious, and a nice accompaniment to the meal. All in all, I had a good experience with Harry's. The service was good, the outdoor seating was nice, and the food was decent. One service issue I had is that they brought out my sashimi and oysters at the same time. I wasn't expecting that since most places that seem as nice as Harry's would give consideration to the timing of their food, especially since I was dining alone. It was mostly a minor issue, but the higher you get in restaurant quality, the more important smaller details become. When I got my bill, I didn't think the quality of my meal was worth what I paid, but that's what you get with places like Harry's sometimes, who strive to be higher quality dining than what they're capable of.

It has been a while since my last review on yelp, and yes, I've missed the fun. On the weekend prior to New Years Eve, we picked a few places to wine and dine to celebrate the end of a year filled with ups and downs. Harry's Seafood Grill was chosen for a lunch get together on that weekend. I was really impressed with the layout of this restaurant. I'm assuming the interior designers had the intention of making sure comfort, and space was a priority. Our meals were served within a reasonable amount of time, and the service provided by the waitress was excellent. I'm the type who doesn't like a pesky waitress, or waiter asking every two minutes if "everything is okay?" Our particular waitress seemed to know the appropriate time to approach. Harry's Seafood and Grill has a convenient parking lot in which every space is just a short walk to the restaurant entrance. This parking lot also gives clear exits to both I-95 and RT 13 routes. Definitely a great place on Wilmington's Riverfront to have a great meal. -Dj

It's been a stretch to find quality dining since moving to the Wilmington area. So I was pleasantly surprised one night, when we had horribly overcooked dinner at our house to the point of inedibility, to try Harry's Seafood Grill. We didn't get entrees, which will run you $20-$50, but my husband got a salad and selection of raw oysters, and I tried the NE clam chowder and a crab cake sandwich. We also got a flight of wine, called their "seafood flight" ($9 for a selection of 3 whites). Everything was fresh and delicious (though the fries that came with my crab cake were a bit soggy...the crab cake was so large I didn't have room for fries anyways!). The room is large, yet decorated to feel cozy, so you have plenty of elbow room but don't feel like you're in a banquet hall. They also have outdoor seating overlooking the river.

Loved the atmosphere the staff very pleasant. My date and I ordered the seafood nachos I wish I sent them back. They came out quick and undercooked other than that all was ok.

Late lunch on New Year's Eve in this very pretty waterfront restaurant. Thought seasonings in recommended tuna ceviche were dull (much improved with a lot of fresh squeezed lime). But crabcake in crabcake salad was among best ever! Would go back just for that. Pretty bar.

I've been to Harry's about four or five times, most recently the other day, and typically in nice weather to take advantage of their outside seating. We've had nothing but great experiences there. Servers always helpful and educated. Wine list always impressive. I ordered the sashimi and thought it was a great deal for how much was on my plate. Husband always gets the ceviche sampler and fish tacos. For dinner I ordered a crab remoulade over fried green tomatoes. Only complaint was that the tomatoes weren't green, thereby changing the flavor a bit. Still very enjoyable. Love taking friends and family here for special occasions.

I have to hand it to my sister. She picked one of Wilmington's more expensive places for her birthday lunch today. The last time I was at Harry's Seafood Grill, my Uncle yelled at the waitress about the size of his bay scallops, my Dad's ex-girlfriend ordered chocolate martinis for dessert and the food was pretty bad, too. It was a bad experience all around. Luckily, today was completely the opposite. I had a delicious crab cake salad, our server Cherie was really nice and attentive and the fried calamari appetizer was perfectly cooked. I also liked that they have a lunch special that looked great and was affordable. I was hung-over and could not stomach the idea of crab gazpacho or ceviche, but it sounds awesome! I would definitely recommend trying Harry's at lunch. The service is better and I feel less rushed.

The food is overpriced. Unimaginative, one dimensional restaurant with only perks being outdoor and riverside dining.

Harry's is one of the best restaurants in the area. Not only I am always guaranteed to have a great meal, and experience but the specials always manage to intrigue me. Let's not also forget the delicious cocktails, and the overall outstanding service. I highly recommend Harry's Seafood.

This was our second trip to Harry's Seafood Grille. The food is good, but not worthy of the prices. The worst part is they were serving Escolar. This fish is known to cause severe intestinal issues. There was no warning in the menu or from the waitstaff. My wife has been ill all night and into today. It wasn't until we got home researched that we found our about this fish. It is banned in some country's, and was recommended to be banned here by the FDA.

Went for Sunday lunch and were surprised to see so few cars in the lot at midday. We had two beers and a cocktail followed by an appetizer and two lobster rolls. The beer was good on a hot day, the cocktail a little small but not skimpy. The lobster rolls were full of lobster "chips"(not recognizable chunks). It was a menu add-on so I didn't know the price until the bill arrived--$20 each. The beer was $8 or $8.50 each. All together $85 including tip. Seems pricey to me; maybe it explains the dearth of customers. We may go back but it will be a while.

Good fresh seafood, pleasant place to sit(indoors or outside by the water) really great service (except for once), a variety for those who don't like seafood. Not crazy about the desserts. I've eaten here a number of times and it's reliable especially if you like seafood. Pretty wide selection of wine by the glass. Parking easy.

Great food, love the raw bar especially the selection of oysters. The fish tacos are great and the french fries are incredible. This restaurant is highly recommend for the sea food lover.

This is a solid upscale-ish seafood restaurant with good atmospherics on the waterfront, slightly too high prices and great service that has made me a fan forever. I once dragged myself and my almost 70 year old mother to Harry's after a hot July day of moving heavy furniture and unpacking boxes only to find that they had just moved to their late night menu--at 9:00 pm. We were too tired to move, much less scout out another restaurant. The waitress took a look at our dejected faces, went whispering to the cooks in the kitchen, and hooked us up with food that tasted all the better because the whole place threw some love in it. The foodie in me has never swooned here, but I've never left unsatisfied either. Good crab cakes. The chocolate cupcake (?) is a deep dark chocolate that isn't too sweet.

Everything overpriced and the menu is from outer space. Someone should remind management that this restaurant is in Delaware! Hello!

Nice lunch. The seafood soup was tasty, thick broth with pieces of fish and a spicy after taste. The fish wraps were good, with fresh fried chunks of fish and cabbage. Service was attentive.

I really like this place- it has a modern yet classic atmosphere that has zero pretense, the food is always fresh and the service is great. Even better are the lunch options, which are reasonably priced. This is a much better choice for lunch than the Iron Hill down the street which overcharges for what you get. It is great for meetings and provides a step-up from your average American bistro/seafood options. Harrah's does a great salad and really delivers on the wine and cocktail options, as well as having some really creative and unique menu choices. Just wish they wouldn't serve the fish and chips in those stupid cones! Definitely one of my favorite spots.

All of our entrees and appetizers were very good. Fish and chips were good but nothing to write home about. Amberjack was very delicious! And raw oysters are an obvious go to option.

Great crab cakes. Crab soup is to die for. Fresh sashimi and oysters. Good salads and fish. Don't miss the lobster mashed potatoes.

My food obsessions really do get the best of me. It's almost like having alternate personalities that hijack your mind, and this time it was Ceviche Obsession that took me over. $11 ceviche on the menu is a sure way to suck me into your establishment and is what really prompted me to check out Harry's. By the standard Center City, Philly prices I'm used to, $11 is pretty cheap for ceviche. So I went for the first time for lunch a few days ago. The restaurant is in an appealing Wilmington waterfront location. With its huge space, outdoor seating and high ceilings with exposed roof trusses, this place must be very popular in the warmer months. For lunch I had the white tuna ceviche with apples and the bacon wrapped scallops. The ceviche was delicious. It was evident that the fish was high quality and very fresh. I loved the combination of sweetness from the apples and spiciness from the onions and jalapenos. I thought the portion size was perfect, too and the sweet potato chips that accompanied added some crunchy texture. The scallops were also very fresh and delicious. The bacon could have been cooked more though and lacked any crispiness. Nevertheless, I still ate every last bite. The carrot curry puree was a nice compliment to the dish. Service was so-so, but I have nothing major to complain about. Harry's gets bonus points for playing Disney's Oceans (a nature documentary that I'm obsessed with) on the flatscreens. Overall I really enjoyed the food and atmosphere here and can't wait to come back for more awesome seafood.

We loved it. Ceviche was amazing and fresh. Waitress had a lot of attitude and spunk. She wanted to date my friend, but he was married. The Mahi Mahi was fresh and excellent. My wife was annoyed with me, but only because I ate her dessert. All in all, excellent choice!

First time I went to Harry's I wasn't impressed by the food. Then one day, a local co-worker from Delaware mentioned to me about Harry's Tuesday and Thursday night "1/2 price raw bar night" which I didn't know about. So, I gave it a shot. WOW! I was hooked! Freshly shucked oysters for $1.00 each? What? Yes it is true. Oh and the variety of oysters! They have over 9 varieties at any given time, but the Bluepoints seem to be my favorite everytime. Try the variety to figure out which one you like best, then order a dozen of them. Heavenly! Served nicely chilled, the oysters were so fresh and succulent! I haven't been there since end of December 2007 so you might want to call ahead and check for availability and pricing. Recommendation: 1. Sit at the bar or raw bar 2. Order a variety of the oysters 3. Order more of your favorites Still hungry? Try... - Sliders (Angus Burgers) - Raw clams - White tuna sashimi - Yellowtail sashimi The staff at the bar are very nice and personable. Oh how I miss Tuesday and Thursday nights at Harry's!

I've been to Harry's 4 or 5 times, usually in the summer so I can enjoy their beautiful outdoor seating. This time I went because I was craving a lobster roll, and they did not disappoint. The lobster meat was beautiful and flavorful and fresh, and the roll wasn't too bulky. Really lovely. i started with the scallop and poblano ceviche, which was also really fresh and spicy and generous. The wine list is also very nice- edited and a nice range of prices

Went here with my wife for fish and chips on a Saturday afternoon. The fish was dry and the batter soggy. Tasted as if they reheated instead of cooking fresh. Also we had to ask for bread as the waitstaff did not give us any. Their food has definitely gone down hill since we ate there last. Given their price point and the poor quality of what we ate, we won't be patronizing them again.

I went with my wife and some friends here and it was pretty good. I don't eat much seafood, so I was lame and had a burger. Everyone else had crab cakes or a crab sandwich that was as big as a nickle but my burger was as big as my head. This place is pretty pricey though, so bring your wallet or better yet, someone elses.

I went on a business trip and the customer I was meeting wanted to meet here. Parking was fairly easy. It was a Tuesday around 6pm or so and it seemed very busy, we couldn't find a place to sit at the bar right away. The atmosphere was very loud as well, I was having a hard time hearing what the person next to me was saying. The bartender was pretty attentive even though he had a lot of people he was helping out. I had the crabcake sandwich and it was delicious and much bigger than I was expecting. I also had a glass of chardonnay (even though I didn't want to drink and had asked for lemonade). The menu did seem a bit overpriced as well. I think it would have been a better experience if I had sat at a table or outside. (they have a nice view of the water). I don't think I would frequent this place if I was paying out of my own pocket. Nevertheless, it was a good experience overall and I think its a nice place for special occasions.

I love the atmosphere of this place. It's well-decorated and feels rather open while still feeling cozy. Much of the seafood is some sort of Asian Fusion; they even offer sashimi. The warm artichoke and crab meat dip is absolutely amazing. Most of the seafood meals I've had have been quite good, with some interesting interpretations of flavors. Their list of wines has their favorites indicated. We picked one of their favorites (a pinot gris from New Zealand) and were pleased. I'd be interested in going back and trying the sashimi and other bar offerings.

Went back for happy hour the other day. The four of us drank and ate at the bar for 2 solid hours and the total bill came to about $45. The service was great but seating is limited.

The parking was pretty deserted for Sunday dinner. Inside the restaurant was pretty quiet as well. I was wondering if anyone lived in Delaware ;-). Food here was pretty good. Their sashimi appetizer was pretty good which was a surprise. Their grilled halibut was good as well. Food - 3.0 Ambiance - 3.5 Service - 3.5

Holy Mackerel or should I say...HOLY SEA SCALLOPS! I was traveling to Wilmington Delaware on business and had five hours to kill before catching my flight. Some of the folks we were meeting suggested going to Harry's for dinner. As an appetizer my co-worker suggested the sashimi. At first I was a little hesitant since I've had a couple of bad experiences with sushi. With a little convincing we were served our sashimi. That evening the sashimi included King Salmon, Hamachi, Ahi Tuna and Sea Scallops. The cuts of seafood were so delicious and tender, that I was sad that we only got one piece each. It was the BEST sushi I ever had. I ordered the sea scallops for the main entrée. Again, I was a little leery of what they were going to taste like. I've tried various sea scallops in the past and haven't found any that tasted as amazing as these. They were seared on each side and served with an incredible sauce. Finally for dessert, my co-worker and I ordered a butterscotch cheesecake and a molten cake. The butterscotch cheesecake was unbelievable! I think I would fly to Delaware just for the cheesecake. Although it was quite rich, I was ready to eat the entire dessert despite the fact I was extremely full of sea scallops. Unfortunately it was my co-worker's dessert. At least I know for next time to order a piece that I can have all to myself! I highly recommend this restaurant! They have inside and outside dining along the riverfront. It was nice and peaceful, especially after a long couple of days. The only downer to this restaurant is that it isn't closer to home.

I wasn't too impressed with the seafood options so I ordered steak. I know it's a seafood place and I love seafood. The steak I ordered was just OK. I'll go back for drinks but probably not dinner.

Eh. It could've been better. Service was a bit slow, and food wasn't great. Had the shrimp boil appetizer to start - BO-RING, then I had the chicken breast with saffron rice. The poultry was salty (even though I had mentioned to the waiter that I was looking for a low-sodium entree) and the rice was overdone with too much butter! Ugg.

Went to lunch with 3 girlfriends and was given our requested booth in the bar. We've all enjoyed Harry's in the past, but it is losing some of its luster. We shared the Sashimi tasting platter, and while the scallops were delicious, the salmon was off - flat looking and fishy tasting- yuck. We told the server who said he would tell the chef. There's no excuse for a seafood restaurant to put out bad salmon sashimi. It was obviously bad by just looking at it. The seaweed salad on the platter was delicious. We all had the Asian crab salad and were universally disappointed. The dressing was BORING and we all added soy sauce for some extra punch. We also tried to spiff it up bad adding some of our seaweed salad to the boring chopped greens. The crab, while gorgeous, large and fresh chunks, totaled perhaps 1 oz in all....oh so meager. On the up side, the bread was fantastic and our server was professional and attentive. Considering the restaurant was only half full, you would think they would be trying a bit harder in the kitchen to get it right.
