So the ladies had fish and chips (their plates were clean) I had the mushroom soup which I loved and seafood Alfredo - it was great. My buddy had the clam chowder which was thick and creamy. I think the only non hit was the salmon he ordered. I am not a big salmon lover so no surprise to me as he ordered it plain.. Oh and some good beer & wine washed it done. We split 2 deserts... All in all my wife said it best When we got home "I ate too much".

I had lunch there yesterday. The mushroom soup and fish lacked any flavor. The fries were cold and stale. Not to mention the restaurant was FREEZING! I will not be going back there for a meal.

This is NOT the same Buckley's. The remodeling that the new owners did was really excellent and kept the spirit of the restaurant. That's the extent of the positives. We ordered wings as an appetizer. As the food runner was bringing the plate over I thought it was the side salad my husband had ordered, since the plate was so small. But there they were, 8 sad wings covered in scallions (?) and a scant coating of bbq sauce. All for the low low price of $12! Something must be wrong.. where was the giant plate of wings dripping in that awesome banana bbq sauce?! GONE. I ordered my standard fish n chips, which was flavorless beside the occasional bite that was overloaded with salt. The Buckley burger was serviceable, but the side caesar salad was riddled with brown edged lettuce. They can only run on the Buckley name for so long...

The food was a gastric nightmare. But perhaps the most unprofessional thing I'd ever witnessed in a restaurant was the waitress kicking back a full glass of wine at the bar right in front of us. Horrible really, who do they think they are. NEVER GOING BACK!

It was a pleasant summer evening, so we asked to be seated on the new outside rooftop deck. The deck is very nice and the flower boxes are beautiful. There's a nice selection of craft beers. I like to try new beers but hate it when I order one and find I don't like how it tastes. I asked our waitress a few questions about the Yards Brawler Ale. She offered to get a sample for me to try first (I appreciate when samples are an option). I found I really like the Brawler! We ordered the Calamari appetizer - Awesome!!!!! The breading was full of flavor and very crunchy. We loved the mustard sauce it came with. Perfect pairing with our beers. I ordered the Puplo and Pork Cheek Risotto special - I like to try dishes new to me - Yum! My son had the Crab Cake Sandwich. He raved about it and offered me a bite. I wasn't as impressed though. The soft brioche roll didn't help the texture of the crab cake one bit - it was all mush.

Had a really nice afternoon tea here with friends following the Winterthur Downton Abbey tour. Lovely variety of sandwiches and scrumptious desserts. Two of our group were born in England and determined Buckley's had the best (and lightest) scones they'd ever had.

We were expecting a charming village tavern, but it felt more like a fratty, suburban, drop-ceilinged insta-bar, with giant tvs playing college football. Good beer selection and friendly service, but we felt uncomfortable being the only white people there.

Used to like this place. New management is terrible. Prices went up and service went down. Waited 25 mins for a table when there were MANY open ones. Finally seated and waited another 25 before we left. NO ONE EVER CAME NEAR OUR TABLE. The table next to us, seated at same time with a toddler never was seen either. My friend walked out. I had to see manager. When I told him my story, his out response was "ok". Wow. Maybe they'll go out of business and somebody with a clue about service will move in.

hate to give this place a 2 but... sigh.. i had high hopes for this place but it was the biggest let down... so it's around 2.5 to 3 stars... i really wanted to give it a 4 but just can't and here is why. so we had to wait for a table.. which is fine.. but then we had to wait for the waiter to come greet us which is not fine... but ok we ordered... and then it took at least 15 minutes for them to serve my bowl of soup... what were they doing? cooking it right when i ordered it..? n it came out not too hot either.. next we had the calamari~ taste wise is not bad, actually really enjoyed the tangy flavor of the sauce mixed with parsley. however, it could've been SO much better, for starters, how about serve it hot? also, i feel like the fried calamari isn't very fresh b/c its lack of crispiness and there was just something off about the texture.. i felt that the calamari might have shrank a little too much so i couldn't really taste the meat. For entree, I ordered the WHOLE "SHEBANG" which is 3 eggs any style, sausage/bacon/scrapple and homefries. it was typical... nothing to praise about especially b/c it was served somewhat cold like the rest of the dishes so far... the homefries and sausage were very greasy .. i couldn't let myself finish it... i ordered scrambled eggs, it was so-so, again there was something about it that just gave me the impression that wasn't fresh, the top coating of the eggs was stiffer and more of a golden yellow tint--- in this case, it's not a good thing.. it's a sign that the eggs have been cooled down. we also had the crap egg benedicts.. oops! i mean crab... according to my bf, it was mucho disappointing, "couldn't taste the crab, there were no chunks of meat, and it tasted like the crab was from a can!" so that sums it up i think~ homefries r decent though on the plus side, economically speaking, the pajama brunch is a good deal for the value. the portions are very generous. but service was absolutely terrible. we were at the restaurant for a good hour and a half, time mostly spent waiting for the waiter to come and for the food to be served. i might visit again.. idk mayb next time when im not too hungry b/c i'll starved to death sitting there waiting for their attention here's a tip from my boyfriend: "next time im bringing a bunson burner to heat up whatever 's too cold!"

The menu was sparse and featured some very basic selections. I got the fried mac and cheese for an appetizer, which was crispy on the outside and perfectly mac-and-cheesy on the inside. It came with a fruity sauce which paired well with the dish. For my entree, I got the curry chicken salad sandwich, which was standard. The food was average - not too shabby, but not amazing. The portions were large so you'll definitely be full. Service was friendly as well! The prices are a little too high as the food doesn't warrant it. I'd recommend coming to this place for a casual meal that you don't expect too much from.

I had the margherita flatbread to start and the salmon on croissant for my main course. I also had a beer. Both the appetizer and main course were really good, but the service was not on par with the food quality. I paid slightly over $30 for the meal which is about what I expected given the quality of food and the location. If the service were better I'd give this 4 stars.

They remodeled the building but the service still needs renovation!! Great service goes a LONG way, even if the food sucks. I don't understand why they don't hire better staff or provide better training. Been there three times since the renovation and I'm still hoping for it to get better. Also, on pajama Sunday, they didn't give us the fifty percent off. The manager had to come to the table and checked us out and said fleece top and bottoms aren't considered PJs!! Really? That's what I wear to bed, and they have no definition of PJs listed! Now they are judging PJs!! How cheap. Not likely to go there again and will steer others away from there also. Shame, it's a pretty building.

Went for dinner last Wednesday. Great service. The place was packed at 4:30!! They were out of the Pinot Grigio and Malbec by the glass. Both favorites! Some good craft beers. We had Mac and cheese bites to start. They should have been hot not just warm. The salads are in lovely large round bowls but the lip of the bowl is huge so salad is good but at $8.95 it was too small I need some more greens. Not worth price. My friend and I split Buckley burger. Delicious! Charcoal grilled and the fries were hot. My other friend had an open face crab melt. At $16.95 it was mushy and not a lot of crab. We had a scoop of delicious $6.00 pumpkin ice cream for dessert. The menu mentions specials but they aren't making them now. They really need today attention to the quality of the food even while being so busy.

This restaurant is great! My husband and I ate here two days in a row while away for a weekend trip. The atmosphere is great with cute tables on the outside patio. Service is relaxed yet attentive, making you feel very comfortable in the restaurant. The food is amazing! We had the wings and crab and artichoke dip. The root slad is a great, different, healthy option as well. I would also highly recommend the jalapeño margarita straight up with salt. You won't be disappointed! We will be back here for sure!!

This place is a Delaware staple. I usually sit at the bar, but if it is a nice day, I make sure to get a table outside. They make a nice Bloody Mary and have a nice selection of food.

I've eaten here a few times when in the area, and the food has always been good. However, Buckley's Tavern is currently undergoing renovation, and it is currently closed. If you plan to eat here, call first to ensure they've reopened.

Food was good, her fish and chips was tasty. My stir fry with steak was good. Sauce was good, just thought it needed rice but no biggie. I had a flight of 4 5 oz beers for $5.50! Left it up to our waiter he made the right choices. The chilled fruit soup was ok in our opinion. The mushroom soup was delicious. Mondays is selected bottles of wine and glasses are half off. Service was good, we enjoyed ourselves. We will be back again!

My wife and I used to love this place before the renovations and new menu. It's still one of our favorites, but the prices went up a bit too much and it lost a lot of the character of the old place

THE EMPEROR ISN'T WEARING ANY CLOTHES. Kind of ridiculous that Buckley's closed for the better part of a year, spent untold $$ in renovations, fired their longstanding lessee and re-opened with almost the same unimaginative menu as before! And PS - the dropped ceiling in the bar is awful. But what do I know? The place is packed. If you like fairly pricey food that's about the same as you can find in a dozen other restaurants in the area, then 'new' Buckley's is for you (you probably also grew up in the area).

Perhaps we were here on a bad day considering the other reviews. While the atmosphere is cozy and the bar area is great for sitting at a cozy booth or watching a game, the food was barely fit to be had. The four of us were in love with our waiter who has movie star good lucks with an equally attractive demeanor.... Sadly that's where the good part ends. Over priced, even for this tony area of the DE/PA border: no doubt Buckleys attracts a lot of tourists from nearby Nemours and Winterthur mansions but I'm surprised the locals would tolerate the quality of food we had while visiting on a not-so-busy Saturday afternoon. Every item we had was overtly greasy, the artichoke & crab dip had large pools of grease/oil sitting in it with no discernible pieces of crab and only a couple of very small slivers of what we figured was artichoke. The Buckey Burger promised a juicy burger with mushrooms and cheese and bacon. What we got was a charred burger, a few mushrooms, some bacon and two hard buns which had sopped-up the lingering oil and grease from the hastily prepared patty and 'shrooms. The other two entree's were equally unpleasant. Buckley's Tavern could be a great off-road stop for drinks while gathering with friends, but if you're going for the food, don't go too hungry.

Went in for brunch. If you are not wearing pajamas, it's a prix fixe breakfast for $18 per person. That would get you either 3 eggs your way or waffles with some pastries and bacon, sausage, scrapple and another meat. Woe to those who don't eat meat. When I asked if I could substitute something for the meat, the waitress told me that if I don't eat meat, I just won't eat the meat. So--$18.00 for three scrambled eggs and pastry with coffee and an attitude from the waitress???? I don't think so. Look of restaurant is nice though.

Not wanting to slog around narrow Kennett Square streets after long, hot day moving my child back into college, we went to Buckley's, seen on our drive We went early (5:30pm), and the back room and the bar were empty. When we left, the bar and parking lot were overflowing! Boyfriend had rib eye steak special, over haricots verts and a side of white bean ragout. Ragout was slightly spicy, and very tasty. Beans were fine, and boyfriend raved about the steak. My burger was meh. Not bad, but kinda boring. I expected a bit more flavor, inspired pizazz, and bigger size for the price. Dessert was moose cake for me, Opera cake for boyfriend. Both were ok, but again, meh. I wish they had tasted fresher, instead of refrigerated. Again, not bad, just underwhelming. Service was good. Recommended, but don't expect miracles.

Disappointment all the way around. This was our first trip back to Buckley's after being closed for "renovation", and it certainly failed to impress. The hostess who greeted us with a 'hey' said that the wait for three people would be around an hour-- not a huge surprise as it was a Saturday night, so we headed into the bar for a drink. The layout was similar to its prior state but felt brighter and more open. There were four bartenders for a bar that could reasonably have been staffed by two, but together they were doing the work of about one. I waited a bit for a menu while they chatted with each other, looked over the mediocre selection of beers, and then came back to the bar to order. Again they stood around talking, even after making eye contact with the woman whom had brought me the menu, until a bartender from the other side walked over and took the order. The people in front of me sat there with empty glasses and no one even looked at them. Just before my drinks showed up the original bartender-- the one that brought me the menu and then made eye contact but just looked away, came over and stood in front of me and said 'yeah?'. I said 'its taken care of", at which point she just walked away. We were seated a few minutes later. A nice surprise, given that we were prepared for the long haul, but how can your seating estimate be off by 45 minutes? The same thing had been told to the couple that came in right after us, and then they were seated immediately (before us, for some reason). Our table was in the back room, which looked essentially identical to our last visit two years ago. T he waitress was ok, but disappeared for long stretches. We ordered the cheese and charcuterie plate as an appetizer. This was brought out by what appeared to be an eighth-grader. He moved the candle, put the plate down, and walked away. The plate contained: three unidentified pieces of cheese, a splotch of honey, and some over-ripe grapes. It was comical at best. We just sort of looked at it for a bit, and when the waitress showed up again, we asked her which part was the 'charcuterie'. She rolled her eyes and said something about the people in the back, and took it away. It showed up again in a few minutes. This time it was brought out by another person whose parents must have dropped him off after school because there is no way he was old enough to drive. Again, the plate was wordlessly placed on the table. Just out of curiosity, I inquired about the types of cheese on the plate: "can you tell me what these are?". He looked kind of bewildered and annoyed, then said 'its cheese'. Those were his exact words. Its pretty funny as I think back on it, but seriously? What a joke. The plate itself was identical except now there were a few pieces of deli meat folded over off to the side. Sure enough, when we ate it, the kid proved to be right: it was cheese. My wife ordered soup and a salad. The soup never showed, and the salad was ok. My friend had the burger which he said was fine. I had the ham sandwich which was about a 5/10, and fries that were about the same. Dessert was some sort of cake that warrants no more comment, and pumpkin whoopee pies that were fairly decent. In general the portions were small and over-priced. We were pretty excited for the return of a restaurant that used to be excellent. Sadly everything about this place has failed to recover from the long closure, and I suspect another closure, perhaps for good, is deservedly coming soon.

Was so sad they closed to remodel - so glad the did! The place is fantastic! Food is great! The Pajama Brunch ( half off your food bill if your whole table shows up in their pj"s) is back! The upstairs deck is very nice with a great bar. Go!

Just came back from a late afternoon meal. As always, service was great and the food was excellent as well. However, my burger was not medium rare as ordered. Frankly, I never complain about food as mistakes can happen. Not so with my wife! She mentioned the overcooking and our server immediately offered to have another burger prepared. I declined her gracious offer. When presenting our bill, the server noted that the manager had taken my meal off the tab. What a class act. We will return anytime we are in the area. Thanks!

Stopped in for lunch and it was quite good with very good service. Special was chili with corn bread. Fotunately the chili was mostly meat and not loaded with beans and it had nice spices to it. I still added hot sauce, but I like things spicy. The turkey club was also good, very large triple decker with crisp bacon and loads of kettle chips. Lots of parking and the outdoor patio should open next month.

Ate here yours ago as a tavern with no liquor license. You bought a bottle of wine in their store and they opened. This is like 10-12 years. New owners just renovated and opened. Service could be better. Food limited and plates too hot to eat food. Just okay.

I went here for brunch with a girlfriend an her family. I was impressed by the breakfast basket of pasteries and crossaints that comes to every table and the coffee was good. I was disappointed with the size of the main meal, bc I left hungry!

  • Cathy F.

Beware! Despite sluggish service, we left a standard 20% cash tip...only to find an additional $6 added to the credit card statement when it came in at the end of the month. Quite shady! The food itself was rather unremarkable. We'll be staying far away.

Any brunch location that not only finds it socially acceptable but rewards me for showing up in my PJs is good in my book. On Sundays, if you show up in your pajamas, you get a discount on their already reasonable brunch menu. On top of that, the brunch really was delicious! Service was spot on. Although it is a tad odd to be served by guys in black ties while you're wearing pink PJs. I digress... While waiting for your meal to arrive, the waitress brings out complimentary mini lemon-poppy muffins. Dip them in your coffee, they are fantastic. I ordered the pumpkin flap jacks and couldn't have been happier. I absolutely love pumpkin "out of season" (aka not October) and was so excited this was on the menu. The serving was quite large, I managed to only eat half of it. Everyone else I was with really enjoyed their meals as well. For 5 people, the entire meal ended up being $30-something. A-mazing.

Went for brunch....and even if in pajamas very overpriced. Food was cold and when I finally told the waitress (who had disappeared through the whole serving and the meal) that it had been cold got no apology just a "you should have told me....I know the owner". This is my third attempt to like this place after the re-opening and I'm done.

This past Saturday we took some friends to Buckley's for lunch. What a disappointment! After serving us drinks the waitress, who appeared to be very uninterested, took our lunch orders: our guests ordered the French dip and the crab cake sandwich, my girl friend ordered a hamburger and I got the fish and chips. Our food arrived a good twenty minutes later. The French dip looked as though it had been sitting under a heat lamp for, well, 20 minutes. My fish and chips arrived in a metal basket lined with wax paper. There was literally little puddles of grease in the bottom of the basket! The batter on the fish was a greasy mess and the fish was gray and mushy. This was actually the worst fish and chips I've ever had and could not finish it. I did not to say anything about my meal and was hoping the other meals were better; apparently not: I noticed only half the crab cake sandwich had been eaten. When we got home I asked my girl friend how her hamburger was and she said it was just okay. She also commented on how rude the waitress was. This place has so much potential but until it changes owners/manager/chef we will never return. What a shame!

Went for the PJ brunch yesterday and had an AWFUL experience! First, my mimosa was room temperature. Then, our meals were served without cutlery or napkins. My entree, the crab eggs benedict, was served cold. After sending it back, I received my entree again and the eggs were completely overdone. The crab, which supposed to be lump crab meat, was tiny bits and pieces, like it came out of a can. My companion's entree was supposed to be served with a spicy tomato salsa. It came with pico de gallo. The ONLY redeeming factor in our brunch was that our server was fantastic and very attentive. They also removed both of my favorite soups from the menu, both of which were listed on their online menu. I'm glad we got the "PJ discount" because it was an utter disappointment and I will not be back.

Average place. Had the Buckley Burger which was decent. Meat was average but toppings were pretty decent. Mushroom soup was good. Good drinks (had the gold rush martini). Margherita flatbread and artichoke dip were good for apps.

Should have taken my own advice but friends had already committed us. What a disaster this place is. Long, long wait at at the bar for a round of drinks. Then a pathetic menu, with very limited choices. Their Fish and Chips is made from catfish (yuk!). L and I settled for appetizers, the best we could find on the very limited menu. I remember this place soooo differently, disappointing to see the changes. We won't be back.

Great atmosphere -- good bar -- good drinks -- good vibe. This place is cozy and nicer than your average pub. It's in a posh neighborhood on the PA/DE line, but doesn't feel snobby. Service was prompt. You couldn't sit in the dining room till after 5p though, but nothing wrong w/ the pub part. We had the crab/artichoke dip -- came out on little flatbread type pieces, delicious, albeit it a little greasy. The shortribs melted in my mouth, and the Caesar salad was also delicious. My mom & Aunt each had the French onion soup -- and were horrified it cost $9 My mom said it tasted the same as $4.99 French Onion soup, ha. My mom had the Margherita pizza ... it wasn't made the traditional way, it was heavy on the cheese, and had sauce, instead of fresh tomato chunks. It was also EXTREMELY greasy..so I'd avoid the pizza. Would like to try the half-price brunch on Sunday...if I ever get up early enough.

Highly impressed. Went here for a simple night out before a day at the Chadsford Winery, and was blown away with the quality of service, food, alcohol and portion size. Thank you Buckley's, if I lived closer, I'd dine with you more often!!

Driving through the incredibly beautiful Brandywine Valley on a perfect early spring Friday, I spotted this very handsome looking Tavern with impeccable landscaping and knew I had to stop. Inside I was greeted by a bright, elegant copper topped square bar. Nice lighting, and with no disrespect to another Yelper who commented on an "awful drop ceiling" - it is NOT a drop ceiling (get your construction basics down buddy) and the halogen lights create a nice ambiance. Service was prompt, jovial - exactly what I want and expect in a Tavern. I had the open faced crab/cheese with excellent freshly made old bay chips. The bartender, who has been there forever, told us they had just completed their multi-Million dollar re-build, and hearing it was my first time there, offered a private tour of the soon-to-open rooftop deck. As I strolled to the back patio, the manager walked out to ask if everything was ok. My comment, "yes thanks - everything was awesome, I just don't get the slew of horrible Yelp reviews". I'd add the the crowd was a mix of ages, occupations, etc - but the friendly vibe and good looks all fit with this moneyed area. I'll throw some pajamas on some Sunday and enjoy the discounted brunch. Great place to go with buddies for Football, or to take your Mom en route to Longwood Gardens.

Just had a few beers here after dinner down the street (should have just ate here). The food others got looked good. Very friendly staff. They probably had 15 taps with one third of them interesting/premium. Would visit again and have dinner if in the area.

We stopped here on our way to Longwood, for lunch and the food and service was both really good. I had the cheeseburger which was cooked perfect and the sweet potato fries. Everything was crisp, fresh and tasty, and it was on a brioche bun, which is my favorite on a burger and you rarely find that anywhere because it's much pricier than an average bun. My friend had the shaved ham sandwich with surf fries, and was also really good and quality. I thought the prices were a little high, at first, but after tasting the level of quality of the food, you would be charged a few dollars more in Los Angeles for the same thing, so, it was actually a fair price. It was definitely a nice afternoon place and it seemed like a lot of Greenville locals were there. It was kind of a mix of parents, grandparents, and twenty-something-yr-olds out with the family.

Love this place! My parents have been going here for years. Almost every weekend they stop by the bar or get dinner and always run into someone they know and almost always order from their staples: The Buckley burger, banana buffalo wings (strange, I know), crab lemongrass soup (amazing), wild mushroom soup, spinach and cheese quesadilla. They have a great roof-top patio with outstanding service always. My favorites on the menu are the cheesehead mac and cheese, sweet potato fries, and crab lemongrass soup. However, the real strength of this restaurant, in my opinion, would be its half-price Pajama Brunch on Sundays. The coconut-crusted french toast with bananas and walnuts is delicious and I always order the wild mushroom and goat cheese omelet. The price is right and the taste is...wow.

Went with a group of woman after a tour of Nemours. First go on the tour. It is fabulous. 24 women arrived to sit at 2 tables in the sunroom area. The service was very good, especially considering how many people they had to deal with. And we each got separate checks. The salads all looked very yummy, but I do not go out to restaurants to eat SALAD! The sweet potato fries with a honey mustard was really great. Everyone from the table had some. This is a very BIG portion. I then had the mushroom flate bread with brie. It came sprinkled with parmesan and a little bit of salad. Very good. My husband and I split a mushroom soup. I actually prefer my mushroom soup on the creamy side. This was a vegetable stock type. and while there were plenty of mushrooms, nice and hot on a rather brisk day, I gave it up to my husband to finish most of it. We then had the lamb sandwich wrap. This dish came with fries on the side. I could live without them, nothing special. But the sandwich wrap was very good. Has some cheese in it, so you could almost say it was a lamb cheesesteak. And to top it off, we had the apple spice cake with caramel ice cream. You know what? I don't like apple spice cake. It really looked like a cupcake, and I'm not a big ice cream person, but my husband wanted this. I would try another dessert. Over all I had a very nice experience here and would go back.

I have been here a few times for Sunday Brunch and it was always very good. I would continue to go for brunch. I went for lunch one time and was not all that impressed. The food was ok. I would have given 4 stars if not for the so so lunch. My only suggestion would be to have the wait staff be a bit more professional. They tend to be college students that could probably use a lesson in professionalism. Otherwise, I like the place for Sunday brunch and would recommend it for such.

This place has a great atmosphere with fantastic curb appeal (even in the dark outside) and a fireplace. Plus, I loved the pineapple symbol of hospitality as their trademark. And everyone was extremely hospitable - lovely people working here. I was in town on business and able to meet up with a close friend who is living nearby. She chose this place because it serves food rather late. We walked in at 9:30 PM and grabbed a table near the fireplace! So warm and cozy!! The Marco Real Tempranillo was a fabulous wine! So smooth and velvety. Loved it! My friend had the Malbec, which she loved. As for food, I ordered the Mustard Crusted Chicken Sandwich with a side of horseradish mashed potatoes. The mashed potatoes were disappointing as there was little to no horseradish flavor. The mustard crusted chicken breast was really good, the dilled havarti was little to none (I would have preferred more on the sandwich as I am not sure it was even on there), obviously you can't go wrong with the bacon!!, and the sherry mayonnaise was fabulous!! This was all topped off with fresh, green lettuce and tomato on a fabulous artisan roll. Truly, the only complaint was the lack of havarti on this sandwich and the disappointing mashed potatoes. I would definitely go back as the service was impeccable and the atmosphere was welcoming!

Honestly after the food that I had at Buckley's, I would rather eat at McDonald's. The service is probably better at McDonald's as well. Heard this place was a good place to eat, so we checked it out. Waiter suggested a burger (Normally, I expect the waiters to suggest something a little more pricey, but I wasn't going to complain, a good burger sounded good.) I ordered my burger medium, it came out extra well done. The burger was so dry I could barely eat it without taking a swig of my beer every bite. The beers which took about 10 minutes a piece that is. Also, the place was filthy. The carpets looked like they were the original from the early 1700's or whenever this god awful restaurant was established the first time. Save your money folks, or just flush it down the toilet rather than go here.

This is a consistent restaurant with a good feel. It's such a unique tavern. They have a great beer selection with some great food. It's a perfect place to stop in after a long day at work. Or, in my case, an excellent place to have a wedding rehearsal dinner. You can go there with some friends or take your grandparents out to dinner. I'll definitely be back again!

Went for the famous pajama brunch with friends this past Sunday and had a great experience. Service was fast, friendly, and professional and the food was plentiful and delicious. Highly recommend the brioche french toast! Brunch is served family style with a huge platter of breakfast meats (bacon, sausage, scrapple, and bacon) as well as a generous basket full of mini pastries. Show up in PJs and your bill is 50% off. Have a mimosa and enjoy!

Always a solid pick. I had the skirt steak w/ garlic mashed potatoes & asparagus a few nights ago and it was delicious. Service was on point & friendly, but also left me & my bride to ourselves to talk a lot. So, good service, but not overbearing. They have a bar area with more laid back dining, but also a more formal dining room. They also have outdoor seating. My brother held his rehearsal lunch here a few years ago and that too was great. I highly recommend this place...you can't go wrong!

I started coming to Buckley's about 2 years ago when I started dating my BF who lives in the Kennett Square area. Buckely's is now our go-to place. You know, nothing to do on a Friday night...let's go to Buckley's. Don't feel like cooking on hump day...let's go to Buckley's. Nephew is having a birthday dinner...let's go to Buckley's. You get the idea. Buckley's food is truly reliable and always delish. I'll fill you in on some of my favorite dishes in a minute. What I absolutely love more than anything else about Buckley's is the atmosphere. There isn't a bad table in the house and each area of the restaurant offers a different dining experience. The best seat in the house though is on the rooftop. When the weather starts to change and the sun stays out longer, you can be sure to find us on the roof with an icy cold beer in front of us. It's a small slice of heaven (if I can't be lounging pool side in the Caribbean that is). There's just something fun about being on a roof...and Buckley's creates a great ambience up there. But as I said, every area of the tavern offers a unique experience. The bar is always packed and the tables in this area offer that traditional people out having fun at the local watering hole atmosphere. If the tavern bar isn't your cup of tea, the main dining room is quieter with a cozy fireplace...very relaxing. And finally, there is patio and porch dining as well outside the first floor. The patio is surrounded by a pretty but simple garden and creates a very pleasant brunch atmoshpere. On to the food...I've honestly never had a bad dish here and that's what I mean by reliable. Three of my appetizer favorites: Mushroom Flatbread (to die for with the balsamic drizzle and the goat cheese), Sweet Potatoe Fries (love that mustard dipping sauce), and Buffalo Chicken Wings. The wings deserver further comment...I am not a wing person, but these are the best wings I've ever had. You have to get them with the Banana BBQ sauce. They are crunchy on the outside and the sauce is truly spectacular - sweet and spicy...so good. I've only had one salad the Vietnamese Shrimp Salad and wow is it amazing. It comes in a very small bowl (I like big salads), but the bowl size is deceiving. It's filled with yumminess. The dressing is a sweet & spicy dressing that I can't even put into words how good it is. They put some sort of asian noodle in there - I think they might be cellophane noodles - I don't know but I love them. There's veggies - carrots, sprouts, romaine. And then there's the shrimp - deep fried in an extremely flakely basil ginger tempura batter. I don't like fried foods all that much, but these are amazing. Light and crunchy and completely to die for good. My two favorite sandwiches: Mustard Crusted Chicken and Carolina Pulled Pork. My BF likes the Buckley Burger a whole lot too. I've honestly never tried any of the main entrees. Not because they don't look appealing, but because when I come here I want bar food. And that's the appetizers and the sandwiches. They also just started serving pizza here recently. And it's awesome too. I had the Wild Mushroom pizza and could have eaten the whole thing by myself. The combination of wild mushrooms and fontina cheese is lovely. They also have a deal - I think it's on Wednesday nights - that you can get a bottle of wine, two appetizer salads and a pizza for $25. We gave it a shot one night and found out everything is chef's choice, but it was still worth it. We tried a new bottle of red wine, ceasar salads and a artichoke pizza which originally had an olive tapenade on it but since we both hate olives, the chef kindly switched to a traditional marinara. No complaints for $25. Finally, I have to mention the Pajama brunch on Sundays. Half off your meal if you wear your PJs. There's just something fun about wearing your PJs out to breakfast. We will only do this when we have all 4 of our kids with us (we are both divorced with 2 kids each) because I just can't bring myself to go to brunch in my PJs when it's just the two of us. Nonetheless, you can't beat brunch for 6 people for like $30...And the brunch menu is ridiculously good. I love the Wild Mushroom and Goat Cheese Omelet (you may be noticing a theme by now - mushrooms and goat cheese - I can't get enough of it and Buckley's serves it up many ways which is fine by me), the Eastern Shore Eggs Benedict (crab and eggs, helloooo) and the Eggs Arturo (mexican style). The BF likes the "Philly" - traditional omelet with scrapple and the Toasted Coconut French Toast is a sticky sweet yummy mess. All in all, Buckley's is a staple in this neighborhood and in my relationship. I absolutely love this place...I can't say a bad thing about it. Well, that is with the exception of those aprons the waiters and waitresses wear...they look like Mexican sarape blankets...weird. Other than that, it's perfection at Buckley's.

visited Buckleys last Friday and had a great time. There were 7 of us there for a low key "Bachelorette" dinner. We called ahead to make reservations for the rooftop terrace, they said they don't take reservations up there(which I can understand) but they would note it on our reservation if possible. We chose to wait and enjoy a drink in the tavern, so we were seated at 9 instead of 8:30, not a bad wait and well worth it to sit on the lovely terrace. Sevice was very prompt and the food was tasty. Their penne pasta is my favorite and was delicious, although I must say my friends dish was a bit overloaded with the green olives, but still good! I will definitely go back this summer!

Visited yesterday, I understand they had a fundraising event and that's great, but the food was just awful. They brought the soup the same time with the entree and the guy said that since it was fundraising event, I shouldn't complain. Chicken was dry and they were out of the apple tart. Well, my first time there and definitely the last. If you had to compromise quality or service because of a fundraising event, you don't need to serve horrible food. Very bad experience.

Half-Price brunch on Sundays! Yes, that's right. You can get a fabulous brunch, pay half the advertised price on the menu. Sundays. There is a catch...read on. Buckley's Tavern is a great place. In a small town on the outskirts of Wilmington, DE, the tavern is the site of an old farmhouse. The whole area is beautiful, but we don't care - we're here for the food, atmosphere, and beer, right? The dining room in back is quieter and a little more formal than the tavern area dining, but the menu is the same. So sit where you feel more comfortable (you can ask for either place when you make the [recommended on weekends] reservations). You won't be disappointed in the food at Buckley's. Dinners are excellent - the menu is what you would expect from a traditional fare kind of place. Meat, potatoes, chicken, etc..., but it is done very well. The bar is fully stocked, and has several good kinds of beer there. The conniseur won't go away thirsty. Same with the wine - by the glass selection was not bad. Now, breakfast. First, price aside, you won't find a better breakfast around, in my opinion. Omelettes were good, and the french toast amazing. Check it out. Now the catch - anyone and everyone can get half price brunch on Sundays. All you need to do is show up in your pajamas. That's right - wear pajamas to Buckley's and you eat cheaper. That makes the breakfast an even better value for you. I've eaten brunch there twice on Sundays, and perhaps a quarter of the clientele is wearing pajamas. Most are wearing tasteful bathrobes or nightgowns and look very presentable. Don't go in there wearing something that you would wear for for your spouse on your honeymoon or anniversary. Swear pants and a t-shirt probably won't get you the discount either, even if that is what you sleep in. If you sleep with no clothes on, pajamas are still required. When I go I bring a set of freshly laundered nice looking pajamas, so that I give a good impression and don't look slovenly. All in all, Buckley's is a neat place to eat for brunch or dinner. Check it out and be daring - wear the pajamas.

Disappointed again! ATMOSPHERE is GREAT. One of the dining rooms however smelled musty and old. The Building is from the 1700's. The outside dining is SCENIC and ROMANTIC. The Service is Excellent! We stopped in on the way to Longwood Gardens for Brunch. No Special Brunch Menu. It was just a typical breakfast menu. Many choices for seating and most were ROMANTIC and INTIMATE. We chose to dine outside. We both ordered the "Whole Shabang!" 3 eggs, homefries choice of meat. My Date ordered the Bacon and I ordered the scrapple. We both ordered the Eggs over easy. She ordered a House Bloody Mary and I ordered a Beer. When the Waitress started to walk away, we asked about the breakfast breads / toast / etc. She said "you're getting Homefries!" HUH??? "THE WHOLE SHEBANG? No muffins, Bread, Toast? Hmm. For an upscale restaurant to skimp on Toast is pretty poor. She said I can ask about getting you bread. The food was served quickly! HOWEVER, The OVER EASY EGGS were OVER COOKED and the YOLKS WERE SOLID. The homefries were greasy but flavorful. Bacon was good and the Scrapple was the WORST i've EVER EATEN! We each got a slice of untoasted Wheat Bread. Some of the other dishes looked good. Typical Pub Style food. Because of the atmosphere and service, I would give this place another try, but will DEFINETLY AVOID BREAKFAST! PS: The House Bloody Mary was VERY GOOD!

I really like this place. They have great food and a good vibe. Last summer we had a blast on their patio seating. Their food is surprisingly upscale for the location and 'tavern' name.

My husband and I tried Buckley's the other night. After looking at the menu in a local B & B's restaurant guide, we thought it would satisfy our varying tastes (I am a vegetarian who loves classic dishes with an interesting spin, while he is a full-fledged carnivore who loves a good burger, preferably with bacon and lots of cheese on it!). I was impressed with their salad selections and various pizzas. Our service was fantastic; our waitress was very attentive without being overbearing and our drinks and food came out quickly. We also go a bread basket right away, which is always a plus for me. I liked how the rolls were all different varieties; the rosemary one was the best. However, our meals left much to be desired. I ordered the margherita pizza, and it tasted like it was made with store-bought crust and Ragu spaghetti sauce. There were a few slices (still in rectangular pieces like they came out of a package) of mozzarella arranged on the pizza and a few basil leaves, which looked just like a margherita pizza but something was just not right. I am not a picky eater; a dish does not have to be mind-blowingly amazing for me to enjoy it and be happy. A dish has to be truly bad for me to be disappointed with it, and this pizza was just terrible. My husband ordered the Buckley Burger and it was equally disappointing. The outer layer of the burger was blackened all the way around and was way too tiny for its price. Reading the other reviews, I'd be willing to give it another try on the off chance this was just a bad night. The pajama brunch sounds awesome. I have to say, though, that our experience there thus far was not great.

I went to the "pajama brunch" with some friends. We were greeted immediately then had to wait 20 minutes for a cup of coffee. They don't do carafe's of coffee so we always had to chase down a waitress to get a coffee refill. The ham and bacon quality was fair at best. It's ok for $9 but I was going to work after so I ended up paying the full $18

It has been almost 20 years since the last time I was here. It is no longer the run down hole in the wall it once was. Enjoyed the ambiance, the beer on tap and selected food menu. If you are looking for a quick in and out place, go someplace else. This place is for casual dining at a leisurely pace.

This place was incredible! Morgan our server was so great, the food was perfect and the atmosphere was perfect. We got all appetizers the first time and then the Buckley burger, chicken pot pie, mac and cheese the second time. With just coming in town for the weekend we found the best place to come relax and get some great food! Don't pass this place up! !!

Always our go-to when in the area. Buckleys is casually sophisticated with an awesome drink menu at decent prices. The food is excellent and pairs well. I can count on them to have the popular craft beers as well as the classics and to make a good martini. They specialize in at home hospitality. The pj brunch was great

You're coming here for the atmosphere and the hang, not necessarily the food. A quaint home-like atmosphere and welcoming bar area make this an attractive choice. And it is that if you're coming to hang out with friends and have a good time. But if you're coming here for the food you're better served elsewhere. While the food is pleasant it's nothing remarkable. I had mushroom polenta and enjoyed it. My friend had a Caesar Salad with grilled salmon and while it was fine it wasn't anything you couldn't find at many other restaurants. Service was good although it was very busy on a Saturday night. Took almost an hour at 7:30 to get a table! Too long a wait for a place that doesn't accept reservations.

What a disappointment!!! We called and inquired about making a reservation and were told they don't take them. The hostess then proceeded to tell me that it isn't crowded now but would be with in the next hour. She was engaged in a quick but polite cover conversation with me prior to ending the call. We were optimistic. We drive to the restaurant and arrive 15min later and were told that for a party of our size (7) their was an hour wait. (Their is literally no where to wait. The two small benches are not enough as people were on top of one an other. If they cannot turn tables over then they need to reconfigure the space ) To make a long story short, 45 minutes into our wait when I noticed many people coming in after us being seated I went to the hostess stand. The person ahead me states my name is "XYZ" and I called ahead. The response was, your table will be ready in a minute. I inquired why I was told that they don't take reservations and at that time why wasn't I told about call ahead seating. Essentially, I got a blond hair flip, slight giggle and an I am sorry. REALLY?!? Two other "large" parties were seated before us and we wasted a lot of time because staff doesn't know it's own policies. Our food was sub par to average at best. The mac and cheese bites were doused in salt (per the kids), the bruschetta was nicely presented but greasy, the fish and chips were decent.... the fish was light and airy but the chips were like led, they were out of the special before 7:15, one of the dishes for our table was not ready when the rest were served and it arrived after everyone was finished lastly, the filet was a RIP OFF. The portion was insanely small for the price ( unless you are eating Kobe) and the entire dish was SALTY!! A salt lick for deer probably had less of a concentration than their filet and hash. The two stars are for our awesome waitress, Johana (?) and good drinks. We may try it again since it has potential and it smells a zillion times better then before the remodel. They need to rethink the balance of the menu and the quantity of sodium in their food. As I am typing this my fingers are super swollen and my lips rival Donald Duck.

Pleasantly surprised by how good overall our dinner was based upon the mixed reviews since they changed things up Cheese plate and mushroom flatbread very good Seared salmon was good and veggies and risotto very good My sister in law said the fish tacos were good, wife liked the salmon salad, son ate the pizza, and brother in law really liked the shrimp n grits. Service quite good apart from forgetting to bring us silverware n plates We will come back

Sunday brunch ( not buffet) What a great first visit for my wife and I, About three quarters of the crowd in the bar area were dressed in jammies the pastry plate was absolutely delicious. The breakfast meat plate was very very tasty could tell that the meets or either local or fresh. Our server was Ashley she did a great job explaining the menu. I would recommend this for a very informal relaxed Sunday brunch

What happened to this place? We arrived for a quiet lunch around 2pm, and were seated quickly. Then we waited... and waited. Finally a waitress arrived, and while leaning on the side of the booth, grumpily asked us what we wanted to drink. I felt bad disturbing her from whatever else she was doing, but I was thirsty, so we ordered soft drinks. Another 5-7 minutes later they arrived. The waitress, seemingly annoyed that we decided to also order food, asked us what we wanted. First question- is the mushroom ragu vegetarian, or is it made with beef stock? As if she was purely guessing, she said "Its mushroom, there is no meat in the dish" (We skipped that to be safe, as we are pescetarian.) We ordered the soft pretzels to start, my Wife had a beet salad, and I choose the "Chef" Tom's Clam Chowder. (Again, as I am pescetarian). The pretzels arrived warm and fresh, and we dove into the honey mustard. To our shock, both of us were overcome with the insane amount of horseradish in the mustard. I like horseradish, but this was like some sort of sadistic joke. We waited and waited for our waitress to check on us, and nothing. So we flagged down another waitress and asked for any other mustard. (It never came). Finally our waitress comes by and we explain that the mustard was inedible, and her response was (and I quote) "What do you want me to do about it?" Are you kidding? How about giving us any other mustard you have. She stated that the mustard was made 'on site' which is lovely, but whatever cook whipped it up failed to taste it. After a grumble from our star waitress she left. (Again- NO mustard ever arrived, the pretzels went cold as we stared at them longingly). So- food arrives. She slammed it down and quickly retreated to her hiding spot. I took one spoonful of soup, and immediately spit it out. All I tasted was meat and salt. I fished around and sure enough, there was Bacon in the soup. Who the hell puts bacon in Clam Chowder? Bacon is a lazy chef's way to add flavor, and in this day and age with large amounts of people not eating meat (or specifically pork) Why would that not be in the description on the menu? So we wait some more, and finally the waitress comes by to check, and I asked her about the soup. At this point she simply didn't even care. She just walked away. A manager, who was very nice, appeared to try to explain to us why we had both horrible service and terrible food. While she was nice, and offered us a free dessert, all I wanted was the check and to get the hell out of that place. TERRIBLE SERVICE and if we have already explained that we are pescetarian, WHY WOULDN'T YOU WARN US THE SOUP HAD BACON? It's too bad this place has gone downhill with the new owners. It used to be a great spot for brunch and drinks. Oh well.

Stopped in for a drink before a wedding. That was all. Bartender was either hard of hearing (thinking this was the case), or extremely rude. She was still somewhat rude to start with, not very friendly or welcoming. Menu looked promising, and other people seemed to be enjoying the food okay. If I'm in the area again, I'd stop in and try it out, but I hope I get a different server. At least the drink list was fairly broad and enticing.

3.5 stars, but I'll round up to 4. This place is so quaint and simply adorable! I found out about the pajama brunch via Yelp, so I simply had to try it out while I was in town for a baby shower. It was fun seeing most of the other customers dressed in pjs. We got there around 10:15 and had a very short wait (5-10 mins) before we were seated at a booth. Our waitress was not the greatest. She would disappear for long periods of time, didn't offer creamer with our coffee, etc. It wasn't a huge deal to me, but my friend was super annoyed. The food was average, but you get a LOT of it at such a great value ($9 if you're wearing pajamas!). I'm from the DC area and used to paying $35+ for brunch, so I was amazed at the price. The pastry plate brought to the table wasn't too great, but they had a nice variety of breads, muffins, scones, etc. The meat plate (ham, bacon, sausage, etc.) was generous--the three of us couldn't even finish it all! I had scrambled eggs (overcooked and lacked flavor) and they came with homefries. BF had an omelet and BFF had eggs benedict. I would definitely come back here again!

Typically a reliably good restaurant, it was a disappointment today. Although the service and food (at the time) was superb and much appreciated, I was violently ill about 30 minutes post meal and having had food poisoning enough to be intimately familiar with the symptoms, I'm confident it was the Thai soup. Nothing is more disappointing than a good meal resulting in food poisoning :-( They curry chicken salad was a little dry and underwhelming, but I barely touched it since the bowl of soup was a meal in itself. I will probably be back since this was a first in many years of dining here, but I won't order the Thai soup again, which I have had before without issue. I've had better meals here, but the service was superior today.

Been to the tavern many times and always enjoyed the food and beer selections but never really the service. Slow, in attentive and bothered seemed to be there status quo. Today was different, my server was pleasant, very attentive and aimed to please. My son and I stopped in for brunch (11-30-14) and I gotta tell ya... Delicious. Started with the sweet breads, and I'm not talking about thymus gland, house prepared muffins, doughnut and scone. OJ was fresh squeezed (seemed to be). My spinach & fontina omelette was perfect, Joeys ham and cheddar omelette was also spot on. Both plates came with diced potatoes with caramelized shallots and a communal plate of sausage, baby scrapple, bacon and ham... Really good! Plates were almost licked clean. We finished with dessert..... Mint chocolate chip ice cream sandwich and an apple and vanilla ice cream dumpling. I think The pajama brunch is a bit long in the tooth but it works for them. $50 for the two of us plus tip. I've spent more on eggs at other places but I would do it again here. Good job staff!

It's been about 20 years since I've eaten here and now I know why. The service was below par. From the bartenders who didn't want to be bothered unless you were a local, to our server who had the personality of a door knob. The food was just nothing to write home about. I do not recommend this place.

We took a break from Winterthur and went down the street to Buckley's. Parking was maxed out in the parking lot, but we easily found street parking. We started off with the Mushroom Flatbread. I also got the Kennett Square Exotic Mushroom Soup and the Root Vegetable Panzanella Salad. The food exceeded my expectations, but service was quite slow and we had to actively flag down our waiter several times in order to get what we needed.

My experience at Buckley's today was less than mediocre. Not only was the service slow, but our waitress had an attitude. To make matters worse, we found not one but two hairs in our Mac and cheese appetizer. We identified the problem with the manager who addressed the issue by taking it off the check. I ordered the turkey panini which I did not finish because it tasted like bad turkey lunch meat on bread. I could have made a better sandwich at home. Finally, my friend ordered the crab cake sandwich which was just as average. The meat was not lumped and there was little sign of real crab meat. Overall, I will not be returning to Buckley's tavern.

I'm feeling annoyed so maybe this is a bad time to write a review. Food at buckleys is generally pretty good, good beer and wine selection. Service is hit or miss, but generally pleasant. My big complaint is the bathrooms. Sounds minor, but as a parent looking for a relaxing night out to dinner I made 3 separate trips to the bathroom, and the hand washing water is scalding hot. Scalding. Every time I went I had to figure out how what to do with my kids' soapy hands. Kind of disgusting to think about a restaurant where the water is too hot to rinse your hands after toilet use. How hard is it, really, to have non-scalding water to rinse hands? I'm done with Buckley's if they can't fix this seemingly straight-forward problem. I don't need to deal with another ridiculous problem when paying for a meal out.

Pub food is notoriously bland, and I try to avoid it. But the building dates back to 1817, and the restaurant come with recommendations from Zagat and Frommer's. And really, this is tavern food taken to the next level. A straight-from-Pennsylvania mushroom soup WITH white truffle essence? A crab cake sandwich made with crabs straight from the coast? The fries could use some work, but that's okay. Also, the dark tavern feel and decent noise level make for a stellar place to converse. I'm glad I didn't see the 'trendy small plates' that Frommer's recommended or the PJs that are apparently encouraged at brunch.

Unless you have half a day to kill on lunch, this place is not for you. Everyone moves at a glacial pace. The waiters are aware of only one beer - Miller Light - the rest of the names confuse the hell out of them. Make sure to repeat your order at least twice and then ask the waiter to read it back slowly. Correct all the mistakes. Settle in for a long wait and sip your drink slowly: you won't see another one for an hour.

We celebrated my husband's birthday here with a few friends on Monday, Dec. 30th. I didn't think they would be very busy because 1) the reviews I read weren't that great, and 2) it was the night before New Year's Eve. Even so, I decided to make a reservaion, and it was a good thing I did. The wait time for a table was 45 minutes when we arrived! When I made the reservation, I didn't mention we were coming to celebrate a special occasion, but I was pleasantly surprised when we were given the table in front of the warm, cozy fireplace. The server that night was great! She contributed as much to the celebratory feeling of the evening as did we. My husband had such a good time that at one point, his face was red, and he had to wipe a tear from his cheek from laughing so hard. He is usually a very quiet person. Two of us ordered the Monday night special, their chicken pot pie, and the other two ordered the salmon dish. All of us thought our dinners were delicious! We weren't going to order dessert, but when the server told us they had pumpkin spice ice cream from Woodside Dairy (the dairy in Pike Creek that makes the wonderful homemade ice cream), we all ordered it. None of us were disappointed. We were so close to making a decision to go somewhere else because of the bad reviews. Thank goodness we decided to make up our own minds with our own experience!

This was one of the more disappointing experiences I've had at any restaurant. I won't list the problems; suffice it to say they were across the board. I even wore my jammies for the expected revelry. I did not revel. What is going on there?

What a disappointment. After cooking for almost four days straight over the Thanksgiving Holiday, decided to take a break from the kitchen, and treat the family to a dinner out. Hoping for a new and improved Buckley's, after months of being closed for renovations, you'd think you would be in store for something special. Think again. First off, service was terrible. Our server didn't introduce themselves until necessary, and had to be tracked down twice during our meal. The new menu is just not thought out well. Not nearly as much to choose from before, and only a few selections in each category. If you have a half dozen burger choices, shouldn't you have more entree choices? I'd think so. One of the kids got a flatbread pizza. When one of the helpers brought it out, with the aid of a towel, he says "careful the plate is hot", drops it off in front of my young child and darts away. If I wasn't mindful of this, no doubt my kid would have had a serious burn if he touched the plate. Ridiculous what they are thinking here taking shortcuts by heating up plates to a thousand degrees. I ordered the lamb shank for my entree. What a mistake that was. Looked like it was cooked the day before. For $21.95, a meager portion, sitting atop of one, repeat, one disc of potato and three small cipollini onions. Everyone's meals were average to forgettable. I also noticed a Salmon entree on the menu. I decided against that when I saw the table next to us receive their orders. The portion was probably 4oz at best, and was charred so much it looked burnt halfway down. Not a good feeling walking out of a place spending your hard earned money knowing you could have gotten Chinese take out three to four times over and it would have been better. The Executive Chef needs a Gordon Ramsay lashing for getting away with serving this type of food. The new owners need to re-evaluate the menu, the prices and the service.

This is a tough review. The atmosphere is excellent, however the food quality depends on the meal you are ordering. The service is lax and personable. It has a mixture of an upscale bar tucked in a small town. I have gone once for dinner with a large group and again for their Sunday Pajama Brunch, which I highly recommend. 50% off Brunch for wearing PJs. Woo! The interior is warm and comfortable. There is a lot of space and an upstairs with additional seating. There are two bars on the first and second floor. I don't have much else to say about the interior, its pretty simple. There was a stink bug on the window next to our table. It was a bit gross but not invading. We informed the waitress of its presence and she simple laughed and said 'Ha, stink bugs.' So much for problem solving. The service is very interesting. It has a lax feel and personable. They don't try to impress you and they try to join your group in conversation, which can be a bit annoying. Again, they don't seem to be to concerned about bugs on the inside of windows. The food is OK. I had been there for dinner before and I wasn't overall impressed. Nothing that I could recall and bring my self back for another meal. I do remember my pan seared tuna being a bit overcooked. What really makes a 4 star review is the Sunday Pajama Brunch. Wear PJs to get 50% off and really enjoy a cheap delicious brunch. The offer pancakes, eggs, french toast and other various breakfast items. They bring out a plate of pastries before your meal and a meat plate to share during your meal. The fruit is fresh, the pastries tasted homemade, and the meals are medium sized portions. With the amount of food you will pay for brunch ($18 w/o PJs, $9 w/ PJs) you will be beyond full and very satisfied. The blueberry pancakes were nice a fluffy with a great buttermilk taste and sweet and tart blueberries. The blueberries were abundant in my pancakes, Overall, I give this place 3 stars for dinner, but for the Sunday Pajama Brunch I give 4 stars. I will come back on Sundays for brunch.

Great place to entertain clients- great Friday bar crowd. Friendly staff that treats you like family. If I need to have a "working " lunch the high tops are perfect to plug in and conduct business. Excellent beer selection and tasty food . Try the nachos for a snack . AWESOME!

Stopped here for a drink with my friend. The crowd seemed to be my grandparents age, and we aren't that young! The service was slow and it wasn't that crowded. We ended up leaving after just one drink.
