It was good, but was bar food. It would have been amazing if we were drunk, but for the price left us lacking. I won't blame them, I think we were thinking it was something different, so just go in knowing. However their chorizo queso was the bomb diggity. Nice waitstaff and not too long a wait!

The atmosphere of this bar is great. The lightening and decor is nice. It has a cozy feel because the bar itself is very narrow. The margaritas are ok...but are $13 and they don't have frozen :( they were pretty strong though!

How can I start this painful review.....I'll say this, if I could give this so call tequila bar a negative star I would. The house margaritas taste like some kind of nasty, cheap tequila mixed with watered consentrated lemon mix . For the $9-12 that they cost you would think that it would at least taste like something good. Now the food..yes, the food....I ate at taco bell one years ago and I would definitely give taco bell a four(4) star. As we waited for several friends we ordered queso fundido with Mexican sausage(melted cheese ). It was the worst thing I have had in a very long time not to forget about the staile tasting tortilla chips. Since we were there to support the singer who was a good friend of our friend we all order some food such as tacos and burritos. The soft and hard shell tacos were probably made by a second grade student that font know how to do much. The burrito was blah blah blah tasteless. Over all, if we the singer was not great we would had never stated there pasted the first drink. With that said I would say save your money , but who am I to say so right.

I want this place to be successful, so my intent is constructive criticism. I started with the worst $9 margarita I've had in my life. I've had bad luck getting a good margarita in Wilmington and Anejo stayed true to that precedent. A true margarita has three ingredients: fresh lime juice, orange liqueur and tequila. There is no such thing as "margarita mix". Instead of setting myself up for disappointment, I asked my server/bartender if I could have a margarita with those three ingredients. The closest thing they had some drink called a margarita supreme or something to that effect. I politely asked them to hold the club soda and agave nectar; just tequila, lime and triple sec por favor. What came out somehow tasted like margarita mix and plastic. I couldn't even tell if there was tequila in it. My next drink was a $6 IPA - at a place named for aged tequila. The food was mediocre and overpriced. We bought chips and salsa, which was taken before we were finished. I will say the empeñadas were served hot, which I do appreciate. Overall, great location, good atmosphere, pleasant but not very astute service, overpriced, below average food, terrible drinks.

Very disappointed with my service! I would say that I go to Anejo at least once a week. I mostly go late night on the weekends with a large group of friends. I have always received exceptional service and have always had a lovely time! The bar is always clean, the bartenders are always friendly and very accomidating and the music is enjoyable. Sunday, (May 3, 2015) my friends and I were greeted with a terrible bouncer. He was rude, unpleasent and abused his power. I work in the hospitality business and have bartended for years and I have never been so disrepsected in my life by a bouncer. Because it was a Sunday afternoon, and I noticed he was in a bad mood, I wanted to make light of his situation. I made a joke at him one time (light humor) and he became extremely angry. I felt threathened and uncomfortable. He then told me I was too drunk and was not allowed in the bar, which is comical considering I was not drunk at all!!! I spend hundreds and hundreds of dollars here a month and am shocked I exsperenced such terrible service. This bouncer was extremely out of line and ruined Anejo for me. I refuse to give this bar/restaurant any of my service again. My friends are in complete agreement too. You really need to evaluate your staffs attitudes and consider your faithful customers business! I am very disappointed!

Great staff, (including but not limited to Emily, Carrie and BJ) decent food and great happy hour specials. A new staple in Trolley square and a must visit.

Consistently great margaritas made with fresh squeezed lime juice - never a sour mix. Terrific happy hours. Super friendly staff. I highly recommend the pork - tacos, burritos, and enchiladas. Secret find on the menu is the wings, ask for them in the tequila sauce.

Best happy hour in trolley provided by the best bartenders (Emily and Carrie). Always quiet and relaxing - best place to have a margarita with good music

As I entered the mexican sports pub, I told the waitress that we were party of two dining in. It kind of rubbed me the wrong way when the waitress handed me two menus and told me to find a seat. Usually, I am handed a menu after I sit down not as I arrive into the door unless I ask for them. The salsa and chips were nothing special. Our chips were stale. The salsa was not salsa but some soggy diced tomatoes with onions. My enchiladas were average at best. The margarita didn't do it for me. It wasn't refreshing or tasty. Actually the margarita sucked! I have never had a margarita that I didn't like. This place does not do it for me at all.

I wanted to like this place because it's rather close to where I live, however, I was extremely dissapointed with both my entree, Chicken Poblano, and the house margarita. The chicken was covered in this green colored sauce which had absolutely zero taste to it, and the margarita tasted like stale lemonade without any tequila in it.

I am glad to see something a bit different open up in the Trolley Square vicinity. The atmosphere in Lime is nice and the bartenders were quite helpful and friendly. The menu looks intriguing, so I would definitely be inclined to go back for a meal. I stopped in for drinks. They were tasty, but overpriced. For $9, I would at least like a tequila that does not require reaching below the bar. However, this may be the best (and one of the few not made from a mix) margaritas you will find in Wilmington, so they may get away it.

This review is based on stopping in for one drink while I was waiting for Hummingbird to Mars to open. This is the old 1717, which was a nice martini bar with a full kitchen. Now it is a Mexican Tequila bar and grill. The menu did look nice and it seemed mixed in with the standard quesedilla and other items were a few interesting dishes like the Mahi Vera Cruz which I look forward to trying. I got one of the mid-grade margaritas, I was able to choose my grade and brand of tequila which was nice. It did seem a little light on flavor though, but that is better then the overwhelming sour mix and lime flavor you can get in some places. A friend's drink (the "Skinny Girl") also seemed a little thin as well, I am not sure how to describe it. The drinks did seem to come with a lot of ice and are a bit on the priceier side, the top shelf margarita using Gran Mariner started at $12 and could go even higher depending on what grade tequila you ordered. Considering the prices, the presentation of the drinks also seemed a little too beach bar for me.

Lets just get this over with. The terrible night at Lime started out with not a single employee in sight. The past month we have decided to do "margarita Mondays", so i figure hey lets give this place a shot seems like a sure thing. 1. They don't do frozen. 2. they don't do frozen. i cant put a 3 here but you know what ill say. Anyone who knows a good margarita knows it has to be frozen, its kinda the point. But hey were already seated, so give me your lime margarita on the rocks (grumble). Four of us ordered the same drink with my brother ordering the house version. Took a bit long to get the drinks but i work in the restaurant industry, i know your job , and i wouldn't want to do it so ill deal with the wait. Long wait aside there was very little salt on the rim, it was some sort of salt ive never seen on a glass before in my life, it was served in a very small glass, with half of it being taken up by a comical amount of ice, and there was no lime in my "lime margarita". Lets just forget that too you say? Ok but then how can this Tequila bar have the cojones serve me a $12 margarita that tasted only of Triple Sec.?(yeah that was supposed to be patron in my glass not mixer) You thought i was furious, my brother didn't even finish his. I had to ask why rite? He said to taste it, i should have known better, honest to whoever you prey to the drink tasted like Wilmington city water (unfiltered to boot) and if you live here, you know how bad that is. A Friend showed up 1/2 way through to join us for drinks, and i informed him to pass on the margaritas. He ordered some version of a long island ice tea, and it was decent. A decent long island iced tea is why you don't have one star i hope that helps. The worst part is that it is in walking distance so i really wanted Lime to work. Whole group says never again.

Came here with a couple of girlfriends on a Thursday night. We sat outside, right out front. Our waitress was super sweet. My first margarita was tasty, but basically 75% ice. My second one, however, was even more tasty, almost overflowing, and had just the right amount of ice, so it compensated for the disappointing first round. Chicken quesadillas were nothing to write home about. The drinks are pricier than I'd like, but what else can you expect from a "trendy" place like this. I would go back for a drink when I have some extra cash on hand. ;)

I had a really delicious burger here. Good appetizers and fries... Also, I recommend the spring water (it's an alcoholic drink).

Most. Horrible. Meal. EVER! Canned, tasteless beans, totally reheated and equally tasteless rice. DRY enchiladas with craft american cheese inside. $14 Ahi tacos were an embarrassment. The tuna could have been canned from chicken of the sea. It was dry, completely overcooked and smothered with a disgusting pineapple something or other. Packed with shredded lettuce and that was it. Salt was mixed IN with the margarita and the mojito was made withtap water. As a member of the industry, I fail to understand how the owners can even think to keep this place open. I always give people the benefit of the doubt but this was just inexcusable.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
