I have done business with Georgia House ever since they have opened. I was very disappointed to find out the other night that you could no longer order the soup and salad after lunch for the special pricing they had. The price was more than doubled for dinner. This has always been a Friday night stop for a reasonable take out dinner. I was rudely told that was the way it was by the manager. Very disappointing experience and ate elsewhere.

Food was good...however, my food was lukewarm. We got crab dip first,not much flavor except for horseradish, I got seared crab cakes which were very good just not hot...the redskin potatoes tasted almost like instant and very peppery plus part of them were cold; asparagus however, was excellent but again lukewarm.

Went here for a night out with my whole family. Wait staff took forever to get to us. My food was ok besides it was cold from waiting so long, but wouldn't go there with big party's.

We visit the Georgia House regularly when in the area visiting my wife's family. The staff is friendly, and the atmosphere is pitch perfect for family dining. I would say that the food is consistently good but not great -- they are a bit heavy handed with the pepper and it finds its way onto almost everything. There are two dishes that rise above the rest of the menu: (1) Hawaiian Ribeye (a regular special on Saturday nights) (2) Double Bone-in Pork Chops (Friday nights for this one) Both dishes are marinated for 24 hours, and apparently something magical happens in that time. All in all, this remains the best dining option in the area.

They no longer offer the bread basket! Their wonderful corn pone is off the menu now. If you want something like it, head to Station 7 in Pittsville. Also, they only have our beloved mushroom soup seasonally. We pleaded with them to keep it on the menu. We know that we're not the only regulars who go there almost specifically for the mushroom soup. Without the bread basket and the mushroom soup, this place has lost a lot of charm for us.

Starting with their classic cream of crab soup, you'll already be glad you chose this place to eat! They have a wonderful selection with a wide variety to choose from on their menu. I always make it a habit to get their delicious salads or tasty burgers. I highly recommend the Georgia house if you are a fan of American dining.
