Great food, great service, and great atmosphere! Definitely coming back! I got the chicken and my partner got the salmon. Both meals were better than any similar dish we've had anywhere. The waitress told us everything on the menu is excellent, and although I'm normally skeptical of statements like that, I bet she's right. If you're in Lewes, you should definitely give this place a try.

Oh boy, we dined here a while ago, this won't be a very detailed review, but I can safely say that among the restaurants in Lewes, this one is very good, it is owned by the Striper Bites people, and is every bit as good. Much quieter here than there. Service was great and the food was good, the wine list was enough to keep us interested.

Ate here back in February for my moms birthday. Had the half chicken meal with Mac and cheese. The food was perfection! All of us loved our meals. The prices are a bit higher than other restaurants in the area but the quality and taste of the food made the prices worth it I can't wait to go back!

Have only gotten a mojito here now twice and it has always been the best mojito I've ever had! Really cool outdoor seating.

Terrific petite filet Loved the mushrooms heather our waitress really made the experience outstanding attentive but not overbearing we were able to order a drink when we wanted it and not ahead of or later than we wished She made the experience.

We really enjoyed our visit to Kindle! Great service.....Heather is a very professional and great server! We had the queen sized filet....4 oz. just right for us! I substituted fiery fries for my potato for a slight up-charge (totally worth it!). Filets were tender and flavorful, cooked to perfect medium! Great wines and am excellent craft old-fashioned! We will definitely be back!

Delicious margaritas (on the rocks) paired with an awesome selection of entrees made for a very nice girls night out dinner before wandering through the cute shops of Lewes. We started with a cone of their fries topped with some type of cheese/spice mix -hot crisp tender salty yum- and a bowl of delicious mussels in a garlicky wonderful white wine broth. We could have stopped there... but I proceeded with their chilean sea bass - a very generous approx 7 oz. filet served with a spicy salsa. My friend ordered their half roast chicken, served with a side salad and gruyere mac & cheese. Portions are very generous. I ate all of my fish (my fave), and my friend packed most of her chicken to go. We ate it for lunch the next day and I have to say the mac & cheese was outstanding! This is an awesome, pretty reasonable for what you get restaurant. 5* because most shore towns in my experience (Jersey shore) have mediocre restaurants in this price range. This is an awesome dining experience shore or anywhere.

Excellence with great fish and lamb and pasta. And more fish too. It was great. Plus dogfish head on tap and great wine

Delicious lunch; Lex was a great server- friendly, cordial, attentive, accommodating, etc. The ham flatbread was excellent, as was the fish club of the day with swordfish. Don't miss the Templeton Manhattan for dessert.

We've had some very good meals here, last year. I was very much anticipating our meal this season and was sorely disappointed. Perhaps they had someone covering the kitchen the night we were in and quality control wasn't at its best. The salads (both beet and blue cheese, and garden) were overly dressed, the bread slices for the mussels were limp (likely left out too long, waiting to be brought to the table, arriving late), and the beef tartar lacked the onion and capers. When I asked about this, I was told they were mixed in. If the tartar was prepared fresh, then I would have noticed the crunch (and flavor!), so either they were missing or the tartar was prepared so much in advance that this component was limp as well). I won't have as high an expectation for well prepared food at Kindle next year, if we come back.

This place is great. Even on a busy Saturday night it feels relaxed and somewhere you want to linger. Drinks: Generous size servings, my cocktail came with a "sidecar" which felt like a free refil! Tasty special featured wines were also a good sized pour. Place: Basic metal tables , the roof seems a little low... Acceptable but not special outdoor space. Food: Appetizer olives we had with drinks nice for 2.. As entree I had the pork chop with shredded brussels sprouts which was lovely.. Cashew encrusted and juicy inside.. My wife got the steak frites.. Which was only average, not bad, but nowhere near as good as the pork chop. Service: Bianca our waitress was perfect. She was attentive without hovering and friendly without being a kiss ass. All the staff were cheerful and helpful and make us want to return.

Had a beer here while visiting with my girlfriend. The selection was very good and the bartender was friendly. Arrive early, as reservations fill up quick. The dining room is quite small, but I was fine hanging out at the bar.

The food was without a doubt the best food I've had in a very long while. Top that with super friendly service and an excellent atmosphere and you can't go wrong. This place is the best! Next time you're in Lewes or Rehoboth, come to this place. My only regret on coming here now is that I didn't stop in earlier!!! Seriously, the food is that good.

The subtitle of their sign: "Eat, Drink, Glow" has always been something of a silly oddity to me, but after finally dining here (after not waiting 3.5 hours for the place a couple doors down) I can add Kindle to my list of favorites in the DE beach resort area. My wife, 5-mo old, and myself were immediately greeted and seated in a comfortable spot with room to put my baby on the booth next to me. We started with drinks: a pomegranate margarita for the Mrs and an old fashioned for myself. The drinks were tasty and served quickly. I started with a BLT salad which was phenomenal, as was the hummus platter my wife ordered. For main course, I had the steak frites which was perfectly cooked to order, topped with caramelized onions and bleu cheese. My wife ordered the vegetarian pasta dish which was also excellent. Entree prices are a little on the steep side, but the appetizer prices were very reasonable on the other hand. Our server was friendly, efficient, and welcoming. All told, this is a wonderful place and I wish I would have discovered it sooner. I think I'll just get margaritas from the super-busy place next door and have dinner here ;-) Looking forward to returning!

The Dublin Pig sandwich was out of this world ! I was ALMOST too full to have dessert but there's always room for bread pudding. Our server Bianca was friendly and attentive.

Worst service in years. I left without eating for the first time in my life. Our server clearly hated being there and it showed. The whole vibe was unpleasant. The soup starter was tepid and the wrong wine was poured. (Perhaps some people can't differentiate between chardonnay and Riesling?) In fact, our server got most of the requests wrong and never apologized. When I told the manager, the server flew off the handle and and stomped off. Perhaps a different server would help? Although I will NEVER know as it is the last time I would go there.

Kindle is great. I actually came tonight because Agave was closed. I love Kindle's beet salad, add chicken and it's a really superb meal!

Food was ok ( our group had mussels, sandwiches, and mac and cheese with side salad) and server was competent and very pleasant but there was a fly baked into my Mac and cheese. Things happen and they got me another one promptly but I was surprised they charged me for it and didn't offer any compensation.

My husband and I stopped here while staying at a beach house near Lewes. There was a long wait to eat inside, shorter for the outside tables. We opted for outside, and had a drink while waiting. Wine selection was fantastic, and the hostess was very friendly, and set us up at an indoor table as it opened up earlier than she had hoped. Once we sat, we were glad we waited. We started with the Duck Confit Poutine, which was amazing. We have had it at other restaurants, but Kindle's version was far superior. I also had their Apple, Pecan & Cheddar Salad, which would easily be called the best side salad I have ever eaten. For entrees, my husband went with the Kindle Burger and a side of their Gruyere Mac and Cheese. He said the burger was cooked perfectly, and he loved that they used a brioche bun. The mac and cheese was exceptional. I tried the Cashew & Honey Mustard Pork Chop, which was served with crushed gold potatoes, and shaved brussels sprouts with bacon. The chop was fantastic, but the brussels sprouts really stole the show. Overall, we had a great dining experience at Kindle, and were only upset that we didn't leave room for their dessert!

I made a reservation and came here with a group of 13 women on a Saturday night, they had a great set up for us, very comfy up front next to the big window. The place had a great atmosphere, great service and delicious good! Our server, Bianca, was great, very helpful and knowledgeable about the menu. The duck, the shrimp and polenta and of course the steak frites were very popular with our table and ill say there were many empty plates and FULL bellies!! Cant wait to come back.

So it has now been 2 years since being in Kindle. Friends in town, wanted to try Kindle to see if it was better than before. It just goes to show what a great server can do for a dining experience. The food was great and the service was spot on. Great job on improving......

My wife and I had dinner here. The hostess said there was a wait due to a large party which never seemed to show up. There were plenty of tables and we wanted to eat outside. The hostess never seated us. A waitress came up to seat us. We thought that was weird and it seemed unorganized. The service was a bit slow and the waitresses seemed confused on who had our table. My wife had the beet salad ($8)which was good and on a small dinner plate. We both got the Bistro Steak ($26) topped with bleu cheese and caramelized onions served over tomato slices and side of fries. We ordered it medium rare. The steaks were medium in the middle and well done on the end. The horseradish dipping sauce was lacking on horseradish. The fries were fries. Overall I thought the meal was well overpriced. We expected a $26 steak to be cooked perfect. I've had a better steak at a chain like Lonestar. We can say we can check Kindle off our list.

Very good experience. Meat eaters were happy with short ribs and local chicken; vegetarians were even more pleased with veggie pasta. Outside dining was lovely. Waitress (Bianca) was terrific - honest, friendly. Great wine list.

I previously ate at Kindle when they were at their old location (in Paynter's Mill). I remember the food being very good. Went there tonight with my mom and we were told it would be a 45 minute wait--on a Tuesday? After Labor Day??? We were given no other option, but asked if we could, instead sit at the bar and order food there. We were told yes, so we sat at the bar and it was at least 10 minutes before the bartender (who was also the hostess who had just told us we could order food at the bar) even spoke to us again, even though she attended several other people at the bar in this time. She then told us we would both have to show her ID in order to eat at the bar. I did not have ID, so she told me I could not eat at the bar, even though I was not planning on ordering an alcoholic beverage and I am 34 (pretty far from 21). Okay, she doesn't make the laws. She suggested that we just wait for a table and now told us that it would be a 20 minute wait--in 10 minutes the wait had somehow magically dropped from 45 minutes to 20 minutes. We didn't want to wait, so my mother asked if we could instead order and eat at the outside seating area they have with a nice fireplace. The hostess/bartender said yes, took our drink orders, and gave us menus. We then waited outside for another 10 minutes. In the meantime, we watched the hostess seat several more people who had just arrived and otherwise completely ignore us. So we left. Not sure if the hostess/bartender ever even noticed. Basically, the quality of the food is irrelevant if you can't get anyone to bother to serve it to you. You would think that in this economy businesses would appreciate their customers more. We were very polite and the hostess completely ignored us--more than once in a single visit. My mother has been to their new location several other times and says the service is always very poor, so we are not planning to eat there again. We ended up going back to Paynter's Mill, to the Kitchen, and were very happy with our food.

4 stars for their filet mignon with a glass of wine special for $25.00. The very good pinot would otherwise cost $9.00 per glass and the 8oz. filet was about $27.00 on the regular menu. Plus they let me substitue H.M. fries for the boiled red potatoes - and I must say they were the BEST french fries I have had in a Long time! Perfectly crisp, hot, greaseless....and you could taste the potato itself. Good Idaho spuds. They were served heaping in a cone stand. YUM - 5 stars for those! Other than the beef being too salty it was excellent, tender, and huge. The place was filled with happy locals. Service was fine. We would definitely return.

I am shocked by the negative reviews on here. This is my favorite restaurant in Lewes. I have always had fantastic food (personal favorites are the filet with horseradish sauce, or the gnocchi for a vegetarian option). Wonderful food and drinks and very personable wait staff. Great martinis are served with a side car. Also love their outdoor seating area. Highly recommend!

Easily one of the best places in lewes, DE. I don't name servers or hostices, but everyone that helped us was amazing. The Crab Norfolk was absolutely ridiculous. Go here. Drink here.

The venue was very nice on the inside, but with the great weather the day I went we opted with a table outside. Service was quick and friendly. For a lunch menu their options were actually limited, but their Dublin Pig sandwich was perfect. The meals came with the option of greens w/ a champagne vinaigrette or fries. I opted for the greens and was not disappointed. The vinaigrette was light and didn't have a flavor that was overpowering. The Dublin Pig was very tender, juicy, and full of flavor. The balance of those elements with arugula and gruyere cheese just couldn't have been better. The only downside was the cheese wasn't completely melted when served. I would definitely recommend this place for anyone looking for a quick bite.

I really wanted to like Kindle, but there was no force in its favor. To set the stage, my parents are huge fans of Kindle (or were huge fans...) so we saved it for the last night of our vacation. I walked in with high hopes and truly wanted to like it. It simply fell on all counts. We didn't have to wait for a table, but quickly discovered the potential root of the open tables. We were surrounded by no fewer than 5 screaming children at three different tables. There are not words to describe exactly how loud it was and this really should have served as our warning sign to run for the door. No other tables were available so we decided to make the most of it. I ordered a skinny margarita with an open mind, requesting minimal agave and light salt. After a bit, the margarita arrived and it was sub-par - at best - covered in salt like the chicken fingers that the kids around us were throwing at their parents, one another and us. What a coincidence? Nonetheless, I hoped that the tequila alone would numb the shrieking from the tables around us. Suddenly, it was time to order. There were limited gluten free options, but I appreciated the stars that denoted the gluten free choices. I ordered the princess cut filet medium as well as the BLT salad. At this point, the yelling children were actually competing with the noise from the cackling women in the bar that were literally too drunk to hold their martinis - classy. The BLT salad arrived and was fine - nothing special or noteworthy. Very, very average. The beet salad looked great and I immediately had order envy. Next, my steak arrives and - shocker - it's well done. We all saw that coming, right? Our waiter disappeared (or was running from the kids) so I ate the pieces that were not charred and imagined what quiet used to sound like. The fluke looked fantastic. We finished with coffee that was good and a better-than-average dessert. Overall, Kindle gets two stars, due to the gluten free options, dessert and my vision of what Kindle could have been. The food, the drinks, the service - fine. The atmosphere - absolutely unacceptable. I wanted to like Kindle, but will not be going back.

Went last night Saturday at 730p with my husband and parents. We had a beet salad, BLT salad and beef carpaccio. The salads were good and the beef very yummy. My dad had the lamb shank and he liked it and it was huge. My mom had the pork chop. She said it was cooked medium and was juicy. She liked the Brussel sprouts. I had a burger which was good. I had broccolini. I love it here usually. Last night it was soooo salty however. It was not good that salty. My husband had the potato veggie gnocchi. He asked for Parmesan cheese. He got it for a $1. Seriously $1 for grated cheese? Almost made it three stars. The four cheese plate was a shared starter. They gave three slices meat and bread. When I asked for a fourth slice of bread we were given a bread basket but were told it couldn't be the same bread. Really if you order two cheeses don't they give two breads and two tiny meat slices? Would four of each kill them? Again it makes it closer to 3.5. We liked our server Kim and the entrees so I gave the four. Was busy. They serve good food but sometimes being cheap with small things can take away from the experience. I am local and would recommend it . They need to work out these few things to keep the crowds.

There were more flies in the dining room than delicious meals on the table... It is pretty much my standard complaint with Beach restaurants - with no need to build a customer base, they don't pay attention to the little things that make a restaurant pop. We went for a weeknight dinner - no specials that evening. We were sat immediately, but waited 10 mins for the server to take our drink order. I got a drink with cucumber in it - can't remember the name, but it was terrible. It wasn't refreshing and light as I feel most cucumber drinks are. We waited another 15 for our drinks and to get our food order in and then the REAL wait started... We waited 30 minutes for our food. The whole time being attacked by flies which were every where. Once our meals got there, things went even further downhill... My friend's mom got the risotto which was CRUNCHY. Terrible. I had the burger which just slid off the bun in a soggy mess and my friend had the Bistro Steak and ordered it Medium Rare, but received it at Medium Well. We were all impressed with it when it came out because of the lovely crust on the steak, but realized it was lovely because it had been cooked past her temperature. We did mention the risotto to the server and she said that this was the way it should be... shows her inexperience. Such a sad thing to see such a cute location shell out such mediocrity.

We went on Burger night. Even at half price, the food is still overpriced. I wasn't impressed.....Their veggies are so salty you almost can't eat them...and the burger tasted like a frozen patty. With the exception of the roasted cauliflower that was unbearably salty, the food was tasteless. There was a 1 hour wait for a table, so we sat at the bar. I cannot imagine waiting in line to eat here. It was so loud, I couldn't hear my partner next to me talking. I won't be going back to this place.
