The food os okay. Service is painfully slow. Always. Even when the place is empty. Nothing to keep you company but the buzz of the soda fridges. They need to figure out whether they want to run a quick carry out place (it aint quick), a casual sit down place (some music might help), or a bar (the bar half of the place is usually closed). The food's not good enough to get away with the lackadaisical approach to everything. Given the location, and all the out of towners this place should be crankin. The fact that it isnt suggests that even the out of towners are on to them.

We were craving good pizza while vacating in Lewes Delaware, just like home. (PA) We called for a pick up around 9:45 pm Saturday night and there closing hours are 10:pm. they took our order and we actually arrived after closing, but they waited for us to arrive, that is a plus for me. We went home and the pizza was delicious, We ordered a white pizza with ham, and it was as good as PA. Thank you to the staff for waiting and for the great pizza, will be back soon

The place was totally empty which is never a good sign but we had a restaurant.com gift certificate. We inform the waitress of the certificate and she tells us we have to pay cash with it. We didn't have cash. She tells us there is an ATM up the street. Seriously?!?! The "cash" stipulation was not on the certificate and we called her on that fact. She said the credit card companies were charging a bigger percent now so if we used the certificate and card to pay she wouldn't be making any money. I'm not sure why that is our issue and not hers. We find out she isn't just the waitress but the owner. She was hawking the table all night and service was extremely slow. Like 2 hrs for dinner for 4 people. The portions were out of control and I did think the the food was decent. But it was not the cleanest place. I actually lined our table with napkins bc my arm kept sticking to it EWWWW

This place I stumbled upon while staying at a near by camp site. As I walked in the place looked very dirty there were more flies than people eating here. I understand a fly or two since it's warm outside and that doors are being open and closed a lot but this was ridiculous. I felt grossed out just sitting there! The service was extremely slow since there was only one waitress working. They had false advertisement with their mozzarella sticks as they looked NOTHING like the picture they had on the table. The wings were decent but the fries looked dull and were a strange gray color. The soup was that same gray color and looked like it had soap in it as there was a gray rim around the soup. I'm not sure about the pizza bc I didn't even try it but this place was so dirty!!!!!!!!! GROSSSSS!!!!! The food was extremely expensive and for it to be so gross and dirty it wasn't worth it at all. If you stumble across this place please do not make the mistake like I did keep going! EW!!

We came here for dinner one night with a restaurant.com coupon for 25.00 off 50.00. The prices were reasonable so this was a little hard to do and huge portions. The store manager was running the show but we were the only ones there and in no hurry. She was very pleasant and even brought us out some of her homemade canolli filling on a spoon which was pretty tasty. Salads were nice and fresh and came with the meals. We shared the cream of crab soup which she split for us in 2 nice size bowls. This was fantastic with alot of crab and we were told made to order. We were told out of scallops when we ordered one of the entrees but decided to get the shrimp and mushroom dish instead which was nice and garlicy with good amount of shrimp and nice flavor. Also had lasagna. This unfortunately was my least favorite and would not get again. I have to agree with a previous review. It tasted old and flavorless. Should have sent it back but didnt. Then also had large pizza. Nice crust and tasted fresh. Would get eveyrthing again but lasagna. So close to 5 stars until lasagna. Also have to agree with the flies from previous review. But have one more restaurant.com and they give discounts to locals so we will be back!

DaVinci's was quite a surprise - authentic Italian taste in Lewes, DE. The sauce is amazing, reminding me of what real Italians make. I found out that the chef is from Naples, and makes his own sauce every day from scratch. The pizza dough is delicious as well - home made, not frozen or factory made. We came back twice during our one-week vacation. It's worth the trip for a full-on meal or carry-out pizza.

Can not find it online anywhere - but this is NOT DaVinci's in Ocean City, MD - it is in Lewes, DE. Decent hot sandwiches and mediocre pasta. Friendly service. Would not go back. (Just OK and there are many GREAT places to try in Lewes.

This is my first Yelp! review. I actually made this account just to forewarn people about this place. This is literally the worst restaurant I have ever been to, and that's not an exaggeration. Judging from other reviews, sometimes it's better then I had it, but some others had it worse than me. However, I am going to judge it based solely on my experience, which was about as fun for my taste buds as if I had cut them off with a steak knife. Which is to say, I haven't seen restaurants much worse than DaVincis, if any at all. It wasn't even the food that made the restaurant so unbearable, which is shocking since the food was barely edible. What made it unacceptable was the wait times. We were one of 2 tables in the restaurant, and my party of five, including me, waited over ten minutes for drinks, and 15 minutes for appetizers, an order of mozzarella sticks and 2 salads, a Greek and a ceaser. I didn't bother to try the Greek, but I can unhappily inform you that the mozzarella sticks tasted microwaved, and the ceaser lettuce much to soft. Overall, I was pretty much ready to be finished with dinner before it even started. However, I was starving, so continue on with the meal I did. For dinner, we ordered two pizzas, a white and a cheese. Now, all this is speculation, but I'm pretty sure the pizza was microwaved, and I would make a serious bet that it was frozen before cooked. I've tasted grocery store pizzas that are better, no joke. Needless to say, my party and I were dying to get out of there. The only problem was the oddly long time it took for our waiter to come with the check and box for the leftover pizzas... After I went and asked him both. Who knows how long it was before I asked him. When leaving, someone pretty much summed up all our thoughts. They said that "If that was the last restaurant on earth, I would starve." I couldn't have put it better myself.

Three friends and I tried Davinci Pizza in Lewes last night. I got there early and saw that the sign said to seat yourself. It was Saturday night around 7 p.m. and the place was busy. I found a table for four in the room to the left of the main room and sat down. In 15 minutes, I never saw a server and there were no menus on the table to even start perusing while I waited. I walked to the other side and saw people ordering up at the counter, so I figured that is what you were supposed to do. When my friends arrived, I told them (mistakenly, as it turned out) that I thought that was the way to order, so we left two of our party to save the table and the other two of us went to the counter. There was only ONE person waiting when we got there, and he'd already ordered. We stood and stood and no one even made eye contact or said "Be with you in a moment." FINALLY, we ordered and paid. AFTER we'd paid, a server came to us and said we were supposed to have ordered from her at the table. I told her that I'd been sitting in the other room for 15 minutes and never saw a server, so assumed we were to order from the counter. We joined our friends and waited...and waited...and waited. When we inquired about our pizza, were told by the counter person that we ordered takeout. We said no, we did not. More waiting. FInally, a pizza arrived. But not the pizza we'd ordered (plus the crust was burned). We sent it back. Later, they seemed to try to palm off this same burned pizza to the family caddy-corner from us...they sent it back too. THOSE people got another pizza post-haste. Us? More waiting. By this time, many of the people in the room had eaten and left. My friend went to the counter to ask about our pizza and was told they were very busy. Later, I went up and was told that our pizza was "just coming out of the oven." I would estimate that it was just under an HOUR from the time my friends arrived to the arrival of our pizza. COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE!!!! The pizza was hot enough for me, but two of my friends felt there was no way that pizza was hot enough to have just come out of the oven. The counter and waitstaff seemed completely overwhelmed and were not friendly (in fact, they were on the surly side). There was little apology or explanation for the interminable wait and no compensation offered. The restaurant was noticeably dirty (the windows are filthy), the tables are too close together and it was very noisy. The decor is loud and tacky. The pizza was good, but certainly not good enough to make up for everything else. If you can't run your business properly, even the best pizza in town won't save you for long.

We came here with a group of 8. We all ordered pasta dishes which came with salad and garlic bread. Although service was a bit slow (I am from NJ so anything south of here is slow to me) we were served and had eaten within an hour. Everyone in our party was happy with their order. It was all delicious. I was especially impressed with the salads and the house Italian dressing. They were very fresh and had many different vegetables compared to most complementary salads I have had at Italian restaurants. If I am ever in the Lewes, De area again I would definitely return here again.

I highly recomend not ordering anything but the pizza... After being on hold for 4 and a half minutes they put onions on my chessesteak so i had to pick those off and the hoagie i got had barely any ham and cheese on it for the price. Much worse than your typical wawa hoagie even though it was double the price. Also the motzorella sticks literally were fried air, i guess they overcooked them and all the cheese fell out because they were literally fried air sticks my family had a laugh about it. I cannot lie though, the pizza was tasty but everything else was below par. The service was terrible to add to the food. Overall i was not impressed and i was not expecting a lot to start with. I will not be coming back that is for sure. The pizza was good, thats why i will give it 2 out of 5 stars instead of 0.

Great beach pizza--my wife and I stopped by for a few slices for lunch before getting on the Ferry. There was only one waitress working the entire restaurant but she was doing a great job with what she had.

I don't normally "Yelp" to focus on the negative but my trip to DaVinci's was one of the worst dining experiences I've ever had. We stopped in for a late lunch on the Sunday of Memorial Day weekend and the restaurant was CLEARLY not ready for the start of the season. There were tables in the dining room that had not yet been bussed and half the dining room was closed. All of the plants in the dining room were dying or dead. They were "out" of romaine lettuce... so caesar salads were not an option. The garden salad was mediocre at best. The "homemade" pasta fagioli was hardly homemade... and really not all that good. They were "out" of lemons so iced tea and diet beverages had to be taste tested. The service was VERY slow, our server spilled salad dressing on a member of my party (a child, no less), was extremely slow to help clean it up and barely managed to apologize. Then, when clearing the table later on, the same server splashed soup on two members of the party. By then, the soup was cold, so there were no burns... but c'mon man, get your act together! After all of that, there was no offer remove anything from the bill. No offer of a gift certificate to come back when they are better organized. No, well, nothing. The pizza was actually quite good but that's not nearly enough motivation to make me go back there the next time I'm in Lewes.

My sister and are in town too care if our sick mother so we ordered food ,guy tells me twenty minutes, get there a half hour later and my garlic bread isnt ready and my sisters side salad isn't ready, wait another ten minutes, finally get my food, ordered a chicken Caesar salad, they don't even use romaine lettuce ,they used like a spring mix, anyway the lettuce was brown, the croutons were hunks of bread,ad the best part was the chicken, had some kind of blue substance on it,they tried to cover it up but it didn't work, threw it out, next up lasagna bolognese, the meat was grey and old,it tasted like it was made two months ago, seriously the most disgusting thing I've ever tasted, one bite thrown away, garlic bread wasn't toasted and on top of that the waitress that's been touching beer bottles and money and clearing dishes handled my bread with no gloves, knew that was getting thrown away before I left the restaurant .but hey the bottled diet Pepsi was good and it wasn't out of date, and my father said his steak sub was edible. If you eat here be prepared too be violently ill,I still am 24 hours later True story Don't waste your hard earned money

I was in town for business over the weekend and stopped in saturday evening for dinner. The place was moderately busy but not packed. There was no sign indicating whether or not to seat yourself so after 5 minutes of waiting I sat down in a booth.I sat for 15 minutes before I was visited by an unpleasant young lady who gave me a menu and was annoyed when I didnt instantly know what I wanted. I ordered a bottle of beer and she came back with it (warm)and I ordered a cheesesteak and fries. The food was fine, even good, but no one came back to check on me, or offer me another drink. 45 min. after I ordered my food she came back to see if everything was ok. I said yes but im ready to go, (which seemed to bother her) and she came back with my bill. I paid in cash including tip, and with a curt "thanks" she was off again. The sandwich was truly good but the service was as lousy as it gets. I would avoid until I hear they get their act together.

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
