I agree with the other reviewers. Great service and food.

We're big fans of Smokin' Dave's other restaurants in Lyons and Estes Park, so were very excited to learn that House of Q was owned/operated by the same folks. Decor is cute, like the other restaurants, but the seating arrangement is not ideal (it's a weird space). We ended up seated right by the entrance on a busy Friday night. Service was great; our food came out quickly and was delicious with large portions. We always order the Not-so-Tiny Wahine for our family--it's a great deal at $34 for four people--and leave with full bellies and leftovers for the next day -- plus, we get to try lots of different things to meet differing tastes. Tall glasses of delicious iced tea to go with it. The baked beans were even better here than in Lyons. We arrived around 5:30 and by 6:00, there was a wait. Glad to see that they are successful, and great to have a BBQ option in west Longmont.

This place is fantastic. I had a great experience with great service and great BBQ. So glad these guys are in Longmont!

Ordered a 3 meat plate to share ($18.) Chicken, Brisket and Pulled Pork. NICE SIZE with two small sides. Sadly Chicken was tough, Brisket had no bark, kept warm in water and tasted drowned with little flavor, pulled pork was good but lacking smoke flavor. Place had a crowd on Friday night. Pepsi products and lots of beer. I would not go back.

Our family has been several times, and we've never been disappointed. The house barbeque sauces are really amazing, and the house Lager is great, too! Service is always quick and friendly, and each item we've tried is delicious. We actually make special trips up to Longmont for this restaurant--and will be back many times!

I wasn't sure if we were going to like this place or not based on the history of all the other restaurants that came before it. Surprise! This is a hidden gem in Longmont. Great food and service with a staff that cares about you. This BBQ place is owned by the family that owns Dave's BBQ in Estes Park and also in Lyons. HIGHLY recommend especially if you want to eat great BBQ food with some good country music playing in the background. Thumbs up to Chelsea the manager and Caleb our server.

Beer is flat and warm, service was terrible and the food was so salty I sent it back. Will never be back, way better places to eat in town than here. Avoid if possible.

Went there on day after valentines with the hubby and it was delicious. I had the meatloaf sandwich and he had the pulled pork sandwich and they were both great. The staff was very polite and accommodating even tho they were quite busy. Will definitely return!

Motorcyclists descend on Longmont for the week. So you would think that the restaurant attached to the hotel where MANY of the cyclist are staying would staff up for the increased numbers. Well not this one. I wish I could say it is my first experience with slow service here but this was the worst. We went in for Taco Tuesdays. Almost two hours later we were waiting for the waitress to come see if we wanted dessert. And the "fudge brownie" is not a brownie and it is not fudgy. It is a humongous slice of chocolate cake with some Hersey syrup poured on top. Forget about drink refills or anything else. I am not saying the staff that was there were not working but they needed at least double the staff!! The food is good or OK. However, the lack of service has not improved. There are a number of other good BBQ, burgers & steak places in Longmont so I don't see a need to go where there is no service.

Decent. Great staff, good beer selection. Pork ribs were tough. Beef brisket was salty. Green beans were fantastic! What else is there to know?

Really enjoyed the Q. Nice to have another option in town

It's all about the ribs. I had the three meat platter, Ribs, 1/2 Chicken, Beef Brisket. The Brisket was just ok, Chicken was cooked perfect, but the Ribs were some of the best I ever had. If you like Famous Dave's Ribs you will like this place. Service was good. My only complaint is you have to ask for the wet wipes, which you will absolutely need if you order the ribs.

My family went there tonight. Fantastic BBQ. Good service. My son and I had the pulled pork. My husband had the brisket and Ribs. He raved about the brisket and thought the ribs were great too. My son and I felt the pulled pork was very moist and flavorful. I also appreciated having the mustard based sauce. We will definitely be back.

WOW!! I can't believe people have rated this place great! It is the total opposite! We had poor service, and the food is marginal. The cole slaw smelled sour, and the server said because it has apple cider vinegar in it!! We waited forever for service! Once we had our drinks....and drank them...waited forever to get another drink, we just needed water to wash down the food!! I ordered the sparkling spiced pear drink for $8, and it came in such a very tiny glass, which looked like a sampler glass. It seems like anything that goes into this building is jinxed....and yes House of Q's is not going to make it in my opinion. Longmont needs some good places to eat!!!!!

I went ahead and gave this place 5 stars but they need to address one issue, service speed. I went here for lunch today. The place wasn't too crowded but the service was slow. It seemed like they had enough help, just need to fine tune roles to speed things up. While waiting for the food, I thought I would give them a negative review, but man was the food was just so good. The ONLY thing I could find to complain about was how much they give you. Make sure you are hungry or ready for lefty overs! I had the pulled pork sandwich which was heaping with meat and had the perfect blend of smoke and pork flavor. Fries were crisp and perfectly salted for my taste. Their coleslaw was delicious! They had four kinds of sauce and of course I had to try them all. I actually loved every one of them. The sauces vary in how spicy they are so everyone should be able to find something that they like. The Carolina Mustard Sauce sounds "weird", but I loved it. Will I go back? 100% yes !!! I need to see if they cater.

Well, thought I would finally give it a try, and it was so well worth it!!! Was a little nervous at first, new restaurant, some iffy reviews, but I've learned over the years, never to believe what you read and just judge for yourself. I had the combo plate with ribs, brisket, and sausage. With beans and slaw. Fantastic!!! Ribs were tender, brisket had great flavor and the sausage was the best. Sides were very tasty. My girlfriend had the chicken Marsala, honestly it was the best I ever tasted. She loved it. Great beer selection. Our new favorite place!!!

Have been here twice now, and gosh-golly-gee, I wish I could jump up an down about this place.......... But I can't. Mainly because of the Q, which, campers, is why we're here, after all. The ribs were the best thing I've had, but inconsistent, ranging from tender, fall-off-the-bone delicious to dry and tough, and both on the same platter, (was here with family both times, and we got the big feast plate.) Brisket and pulled-pork, both kinda blah and dry. I think I took a bite or two of the chicken, dry and flavorless, but that's not a big deal for me, because I don't go to a BBQ joint for chicken. Sides, while decent and plentiful, were nothing to write home about. Service was good both times, I suspect because they were guys, and for a guy to make a buck as a server, he's gotta deliver the goods, while girls often seem to rely on the fact that they're girls. Sexist observation, I know, but accurate in my experience. But there is no doubt we'll be back, because my sister loves this place, and it's in the town where she lives, so it's kinda become our default gathering place. Next time I'm here, I'll probably just get a burger, hard to screw those up.

I went solo on a Monday night at 8:40 PM they close at 9 and it was obvious to me that my server did not want another table when I arrived, she was about as unfriendly a server as I have ever come across although the Manager on that night was very nice. I chose the two meat platter with pulled pork, beef ribs, coleslaw and potato salad as my sides. The good: The homemade potato chips they brought upon arrival were crispy and really good, probably the best part of the meal. Beef Ribs were pretty good, they were big and meaty. Selection and flavor of sauces is decent. The bad: Very bland sides and pork. Pulled pork was very bland, had no smoke flavor, tender enough but nothing special. Coleslaw was tasteless and the potato salad was no better, absolutely no creativity or anything special abut the meal. When the server dropped off my check there was no "thank you" or come again. I recently moved to Longmont and pass by here all the time, I was expecting much better service and food quality.

We went early on a Thursday, because we had our kids with us and it's important to us for a place to not be terribly crowded when we have them so service is better. Ended up seated in the bar even though the main area had plenty of room. No idea why they would seat a family with kids in a bar, but that was strike one. Asked for a booster seat. Ordered appetizer, drinks, and dinner... Without getting the booster that the waitress was supposed to be bringing. When dinner arrived my husband went to the host stand to get it himself so our son could reach his food to eat. Waitress noticed but didn't make any attempt to say sorry. Strike two. Food was so so. I had the catfish "favorite". Batter was sweet, Tatar sauce was sweet, no lemon until my husband got one from the bar fit me. I ate less than half. Hubby had the Philly. He loves those things... But this one was pretty terrible, he ate less than half. Son had ribs, they were pretty darn good, but his fries were cold and greasy. Hubby had to go find waitress to get ticket, and I took the kids out to the car while he paid. It took 15 minutes for her to run the card and give it back so he could leave. Strike 3. Really, not worth going here. The only thing that would redeem it is the great choice of beers, but if you want to sit at a bar and drink craft brews do it at the brewery, this is Colorado and there are lots to choose from. The price is better.

This is the BEST BBQ around! Everything on this menu is great. The ribs and pulled pork BBQ nachos are amazing! The quality of the food is off the charts! The music, the bar, just the atmosphere... it's a great place to go! And the service is the best!!

  • Kevin C.

Typical dry colorado barbeque with no flavor. The sauces are generic. The hot links were like that which you would pick up in a package from King Sooper's. Disappointing. Not worth the money.

The BEST BBQ ribs. Fast and friendly service. Great outdoor seating area.

This was ok barbeque but nothing really stood out. The pulled pork was pretty good - tasty and moist. The beef brisket was good but dry. I really enjoyed the sweet potato fries and while all the sides we had were pretty good, none of them stood out as "wow, you have to try this". We had sweet potato fries, green beans, red beans and rice as well as the corn bread. They did have an awesome selection of local Colorado microbrews on tap!

All I can really say is WOW. I have had a lot of BBQ but this place blew my mind. First off it was totally unexpected because I thought it was affiliated with the hotel next to it. We sat on the very private and nice patio. The music was country and atmosphere upscale for BBQ. Service was prompt and attentive but the star of the show was mouth watering fall off the bone ribs. The brisket was melt in your mouth tender and the sausage had a perfect flavor. It is hard to say enough positive about the quality of the food and sauces. Bravo. I will be back OFTEN!!!

A great addition to Longmont! Just tried this restaurant on a Friday night, after driving to several others in Longmont only to find them packed. I must say that I'm glad we came to House of Q. The food was absolutely delicious, the service was prompt and we walked away feeling satisfied and happy that Longmont has another excellent restaurant for BBQ. I had the Philly Cheesteak made with brisket and it was excelelent. My husband had the ribs and daughter had the pulled pork sandwich. All excellent choices. I must say that they have the BEST baked beans that I've ever had. I would higly recommend this place to anyone looking for some good BBQ.

Loved everything about this restaurant. Food was wonderful (lots of options - something for everyone even if you're not a fan of BBQ). Atmosphere was casual and very pleasant (this will probably become our go-to "comfort" restaurant after a stressful day). Wait staff were very friendly and attentive - and seemed excited about their new restaurant. Lots of potential for this place, and judging by the Saturday night crowd, I think their popularity is already taking off. Lastly, well above average list of beers on tap (even for this area), which is always a bonus.

  • Mike J.

The service was horrible, there was only people at three other tables and three waitresses working who'd rather chat with each other then tend to the customers. It took forever to get a menu and something to drink... On the plus side, I had the three meat platter, the chicken was moist, sausage was delicious and the ribs could've used a little more time in the smoker, but not too bad and my wife enjoyed her chicken fried steak... Now back to the negative, our waitress never did come back until long after we were done, my beer was warm and flat and there was no way I was drinking it and she still charged me for it, I know that's not the way it's supposed to taste especially since its a local favorite from the brewery down the street... I highly recommend trying the Lyons location, the food and service are by far better!!!

Pulled up to this place on a busy Friday night. The parking lot was packed! I started to second guess my decision to venture in because there was a horde of people standing near the entrance. I was hungry and took the chance. As luck would have it, we got there on a turn. The early diners were making a mass exodus. The staff efficiently got the tables turned over so they could get newcomers seated quickly. I had a beer in hand within 5 minutes of entering the door. It would have been 4 if I could have narrowed down the offerings a little quicker. The service was great. We were waited on by a friendly gal named Cori. I got the spelling right because she gave me her card and offered to accommodate a future visit even if it was her day off! The Menu was similar to a couple of other restaurants the owners run, so it was familiar. There was one offering absent, the Kobe ribs you can get in Lyons, but it wasn't a deal killer by any means. I settled on the St Louis Ribs with a side of Red Beans and Rice and some Collard Greens! Yes Collard Greens! Those nasty tasting things if they are done wrong, but fantastic if they are done right. These were done perfect. The red beans and rice were very good too. Sides are always such a double edged sword at bbq places, most places are so focused on the meat that the sides suffer. I hope house of Q takes that last sentence to heart and keeps up the good work, the sides they served up were fantastic, and the portion size was right on! Let's get to the meat of this review! Yes that bad pun was intended. The St Louis Ribs were fantastic. They were pretty to look at, I really wish I whipped out my phone and borrowed the selfie stick a young gal nearby had so I could share the presentation of these beautiful bones with the yelp community. You'll have to take my word for it, they were gorgeous to look at. I am not a very sophisticated man, but I bring it on when I eat bbq. I grabbed a steak knife and cut into these beauties so that I could handle them a little more cleanly than my counterpart that evening. He chose to be a real man and tore his slab apart with this hands. He's a southern boy, and had to live up to that stereotype I guess. I am a wannabe redneck from Hawaii! I am glad Longmont has this place. It was well past the time that the Pratt family gave up on trying to run a restaurant in this great space. Keep up the good work HoQ! I will be back to try one of those famous Old Fashions with the smoked ice Cori O! And Diners....a little history on Collard Greens for ya. Eat them regularly! The Cajuns or Creoles, can't remember which, maybe both, made big pots of them. They used them to detox their bodies after illnesses. I personally feel like I need a little extra fiber when consuming large portions of meat!

Fast service, went for lunch on a weekday. The pulled pork is moist and yummy. Their BBQ sauce is decent. Avoid getting the corn on the cob unless you like it to be mushy and rubbery.

Had lunch here today for someone's birthday. Now I'm not a big BBQ fan to begin with but the roast chicken that I had was just not good. Undercooked. And the frenchfries were not browned at all. Staff was pleasant and place did a good trade but still. I won't be back.

Loved the BBQ in Estes- so happy they opened one here in Longmont. Food is awesome, service has always been great! As with other great places, there are days you may have to wait for a seat. If you haven't tried it- it is worth it!

New spot in town has tremendous potential. Fresh, open seating area. They just opened and have plans for happy hour. Same menu as other 'Smokin Dave's I have been to, with many of my favorite things. The Cheese soup is always yummy, and paired with a Salad is a full meal. The sandwiches are packed with meat and the three sauces at the table allow you to experiment with different tastes. A huge thing going for Q' is that they are open on a Sunday night!! Great variety on the menu with something for everyone! Beer drinkers will find plenty to interest them with many local brews. Our server was prompt and friendly. I am sure we will be back and add Q's to our 'regular' dining options.

Cold food, dry meat, poor service. Ordered beers, they never came. Had to go to the bar to get them. Food showed up, 3 out of 5 meals were cold and had to be sent back. Instead of a fresh meal, the meat was reheated, which just dried it out. Collard greens were tough and stalky.

Just ok but not A-OK. Underwhelmed comes to mind and not sure why anyone would eat here when there are much better BBQ places in the area. I had high hopes walking in, looked legit and honestly was still feeling good about it as I munched on the complimentary house chips. But the brisket was boring, tough and dry. I ordered a two meat ribs and brisket but was served sausage and brisket. I was starving so I ate it. The sausage was decent but kind of odd with cheese and jalapenos in it. Pretty sure it was Hormel tasted just like the sausage I buy at Kum & Go when I need a quick bite.

Had lunch here today while in Longmont. Same menu as Smokin Dave's in Lyons/Estes Park. I liked that they brought homemade chips out to try for starters which the other places don't do. Food was good and our server was also very good. My only complaint would be on my cellphone their website shows Saturday as 15% off entire food bill but they would only honor it if you brought a coupon? WTF are you serious, how am I supposed to print a coupon from my phone? Dropping my rating of this place due to this ridiculous policy. Otherwise the rest was very good here.

With the wide range of reviews, I didn't know what to expect, but I was very pleasantly surprised. I came in for a late lunch and ordered the Carolina pork sandwich and sweet potato fries. The portions were huge with a small side of coleslaw. I can only say that everything was delicious and the waitress was very attentive. The food arrived in a flash!! I couldn't believe how fast! No negatives in my experience!!

Cool place, great food, fun little funky bar with a speakeasy feel. Good happy hour deals on drinks, 7 days a week. Cool patio in the summer. Nice, experienced staff. Some big screen TVs around, but not a sports bar, per se. Great beer selection!

  • K T.

absolutely horrible. the "smoked sausage" was just about the single most disgusting thing i have ever been served in a restaurant. the coleslaw was room temperature and watery while also being massively oversweetened,. the "cornbread" was obviously box mix with too much oil (or if it wasn't out of a box, they need to fire that chef for more than just his bbq). The brisket sandwich was soggy and bland. the sauces are incredibly bland and over sweet . obviously designed for middle of the road tastes with nothing to reccomend it to anyone. the decor and atmosphere are cookie cutter tgif ripoff sportsbar. license plates nailed to the walls, giant flat screen tvs in the eating area to help prevent you from actually paying attention to the people you are with, kitschy artwork that was probably ordered from an industry design magazine. This is a place with no soul trying to put on a show to make you believe there is some vitality there. the bbq itself was poorly smoked. It was not smoked long enough to develop real flavor, nor at the proper temperature to render the fat on the brisket and ribs. They claim 12 hours, but if that is true then they need a new pitmaster because he has no idea what he is doing.

Very happy to have another restaurant open in Longmont. We love BBQ and were anxious to try House of Q. I'll get right to the point. The entrees were really good. We had ribs and pulled pork sandwiches. The four sauces were excellent. Here's the not so good news. The sides were marginal. The sweet potato fries were pretty good but the regular fries weren't. Same with the cole slaw and cornbread muffin. I would give House of Q 5 stars if they could improve upon their sides. We may go back, but probably not for a while. Slightly disappointed in the lack of really good restaurants in Longmont.

Great food and service. Nice, pleasantly decorated atmosphere. Very friendly staff. The food was amazing. Very tender ribs and brisket. Coleslaw, beans and mashed potatoes were excellent. It's so nice to have a good bbq place in Longmont! We've been going to Smokin Daves in Estes for years! We'll still go but now we don't have to unless we are up there. The menu is basically the same as smokin daves in Estes and the prices are reasonable. The portions were big!
