Service was friendly, prices are reasonable, and the food was good. The portions are a good size too and the food all comes out very quickly, I would definitely come here instead of subway or any other fast food joint! Greek salad and falafel wrap are a must try!

Definitely one of the best places in Longmont! Amazing, fresh, healthy, tasty pizzas, salads, soups, and all things Mediterranean! Try Nathan's Favorite Salad topped with Artichoke Fritas!!! Prosciutto and Arugula Pizza is another favorite! Ask them to add "Charles' Favorite Dates" to that pizza!!! ;)

This is a little more than A-OK. Reminds me of a place where I used to work. Basil Flats is a fast casual joint, where you order at the register, get your own drinks and then the rest is served. For a joint like this, the quality of the food is pretty good. I'd say it's at the level between CPK and CPK's express restaurants. I had the arugula salad pizza. It was basic on the flavors, which isn't necessarily bad... just not special. I like the texture of their crust as well. I ate it all, but I'm not writing home about it.

We have been here twice and I have to say that I am a fan of the flatbread like pizza crust. This time we ordered the Gyro Sandwich and Artichoke Pizza. The sandwich bread was so fresh and tasty. We did have a problem with the pizza though. It was burned on the bottom and tasted a little charred. But the manager came right over and offered to redo it. We had a movie to catch and had already eaten half of it so we declined, but he gave us a voucher for a free pizza next time. Good business practice.

I was a little disappointed with the food here. I ordered a falafel plate and the bread was stale, veggies were not fresh either. I used to come here on all my visits to Longmont. They were one my favorites. I used love the fresh food here, but the quality has definitely gone down. :(

So good - cheap prices and tasty food. Had the gyro wrap which is great and so is the tzatziki (strong dill flavor which is fine by me)... The Greco Pizza is fantastic. Not too spicy but still has a kick!

By what I hear, this is a a concept 'test' restaurant that they're trying in in 'middle America' Longmont. It has middle eastern food and new age pizza (pesto sauce with free range chicken kind of pizza, although you can get plain old pepperoni if you want it). Wine and beer only at the bar. I had the falafel wrap. It was fresh and tasty. Overall the food is good. Fresh ingredients and flavorful sauces. Service is good. Decor and atmosphere is good. So.. a 3 star (i.e. 'good') rating is in order. If you want falafels and you're not in Boulder, this isn't a bad place to get them.

This place has a nice open atmosphere with cool decorations. There are salads, pizza, wraps and sandwiches. The food is presented well and is fresh. I got the falafel wrap. The flavor is ok. I do like that you get a dip of the tzatziki (sp?) sauce. Boyfriend got a gyro. He thought it was good but ok compared to Mediterranean Cafe. Portions were a little small for the price.

There's something about this place that keeps me coming back. What was it? Oh yeah, their delicious flatbreads, the crispy thin fries, the falafel wrap, gimongous salads, fresh ingredients...etc. Get my point? Their waitstaff is extremely courteous and the place is nice and clean. I've tried quite a few things here and what I wouldn't recommend as much as others (though still good) are the gyro wrap (meat was a bit strange) and the falafel plate ($5 bucks for 5 falafels). This is a part of my weekly rotation for sure.

  • Karen S.

I've had the fried artichoke wrap, chicken goat cheese wrap and gyro pizza. There were ok but I wouldn't order any of them again. Did I order the wrong things or is this place just mediocre? I like Mod Market so much better.

Just ate the Chicken Swarma with a gluten free wrap! OMG... it was delicious. Finding gluten free bread that is actually good, is a serious challenge. Usually gluten free bread is just a means to eat something that once resembled a favorite sandwich. But this gluten free wrap was actually, truly, and seriously yummy! Thanks Joe!

There are some negative reviews here form people who apparently thought they were sitting down at a cafe in in Monoco or Greece. Let's be clear, this is basically good fast food from the folks who brought you Noodles and Company. Decent flat bread sandwiches and fries. Good salads. Don't go in here expecting ethnic food, but if you want a decent cheap meal that is better than the average fast food this is a good choice.

My previous review was based on my first visit to Basil Flats the first week they opened, so I probably should have held off on that one. This update is long overdue, as BF has become a favorite of everyone in the family. Mediterranean food is something we all love and every time we dine there the food tastes better than the time before. Hands down they have the best falafel and tsaziki around. The flat bread is freshly made and now consistently makes an awesome pizza crust. Salads are fresh and crisp - enough so that you can have them served on a flatbread and it doesn't get soggy. Service is great, and the leader of the pack, Joe, is friendly, extremely approachable and genuinely interested in making sure that the whole BF experience is a positive one.

Brought there by others who read reviews on Yelp. Yep - great tasty food at good prices with great service. Fresh and tasty, the chicken wrap with side salad was delicious. The only negative comment I have is cleaning the condiments on the tables - had to get a rag from the staff to clean mine off so they could be used.

Tasty, fresh food for a pretty good price. I got a $4.75 falafel plate, which was awesome!!! It made me think I was back in Israel eating a true Mediterranean falafel. Additional notes: We've been back to Basil Flats about 5 times now, and this places does not disappoint. I am glad to see that they are continuing to refine their menu choices, flavors and options. For example, they now have a children's menu (which didn't exist when they first opened), they've improved their salad dressing and tzatziki sauce, and offer a yummy dessert option - a puffed, fried dough with honey to dip it into. I would highly recommend this restaurant for delicious Mediterranean "fast" food!

Ok, I've given Basil Flats two chances and so far, it's ehhh. I went the first time b/c they were doing a benefit night for Longmont Humane and I got a pizza. It wasn't bad but rather dry and kinda bland. Plus it got cold in the car and I tried not to hold that against them but you know how that goes... 2nd visit I got a salad for my hubbie and a wrap for myself. Again-just so so. I have to say that the order taker was very understanding and didn't get mad when I forgot to ask for no cheese on my husband's salad and they had to remake it. I felt bad and she didn't make me feel worse. I'm going to give them another try-I'm not giving up! They get bonus points for supporting the shelter!

  • JJ D.

Must have caught them on a bad day. Greek salad had hot peppers and stuffed olives, meat was overcooked. Tuscan soup had no flavor, chicken parm was overcooked. Espresso was nothing more than coffee, even when it was done 2x. Couldn't recommend this place.

Ok food but not the best or most authentic. Busy during lunch. Runners bring out your food to the table so make sure to put your number in the slot on the table.

  • Greg S.

I am actually surprised this place is still in business. The food is very mediocre, the kind you would expect in a low end shopping mall. There is nothing distinctive about the food and it is quite bland.

  • Maddy M.

This place is awesome. The staff is always helpful and the food is always fresh and tasty. The prices are reasonable, especially for the quality of the food received. They also have a great selection of wine and beer. No megaswill here! I have also become a fan of the wireless there. I can sit and eat a good meal while getting things done.

This second offering by the people who brought us Noodle & Co is off to a great start. It looks and feels a lot like a Noodles, but with different coloring. You order up front, get a number and they bring your food to you. The offerings are a little more diverse than Noodles, but I'm worried they'll end up parring down and streamlining the menu over time. We've tried some of the apps, wraps and salads and thought they all tasted fresh and delicious. Love the idea of "fast" food that includes lots of fresh veggies. They definitely still have a few kinks to work out, but their new and that's to be expected. If you get take out, make sure you check that you get all your food (especially the side salads).

Decided to give Basil Flats a try, and have to say I was underwhelmed by the food. Service was pretty good (put up the red dot and they come rushing to the table). However, the food was just "eh"... My girlfriend ordered the salad pizza, which promised an arugula topping. What she got was not arugula (I think it was spinach)! The pizza was in flat-bread and wasn't warm. I order a sandwich, which was really flat-bread wrapped around meat and cheese. It was OK....but nothing spectacular. The beer menu was OK - the wine selection worse. I guess, what can you expect from a new concept restaurant of Noodles and Company.

  • Anita Y.

I just read Storey B's review and that explains why I keep comparing it to Noodles. Arugula Pizza with a crust I love, smokey, chewy with a crisp outside....but PLEASE cut the prosciutto so I don't have to play caveman at the dinner table and rip it with my teeth, it's so un-lady-like. Yeah, it looks nice, but now I've just ruined it for everyone else, sorry. Clean crisp decor with some outside dining, lively casual ambiance (can I use that word about a place where you order your food at the counter?) They advertise "tapas" but the selection is pretty slim. The pizza offerings and the crust was good enough to get me to go again.

  • Benny H.

I'm a fan of the Falafel Wrap, but for $7 I feel it should include almost double the amount of falafel balls and toppings (feta, hummus, cucumber, etc) I find myself having to throw out half the wrap so I can taste the ingredients. This has to be a whole lot cheaper and quicker to make than the meat wraps, so PLEASE add more ingredients!!!

Great food fast! Had a good shwarma! potato and panchette is good too but it's not there all the time!

It's a warm house in the winter. Easy decoration, but comfortable. It has an open kitchen. You can enjoy chef's work when waiting for your food. Chicken Parmesan Sandwich is my favorite. Chicken Parmesan is fresh and hot. The wrap and sauce styles are just what I like. So I can finish half of it in one minute. 4.5 points Also tried sausage mushroom pizza. Good cheese. but not too special to make me deep memory. 3.5 points

Incredible food, tasty, fresh, healthy. Love the pizzas, falafel, amazing hummus. Great salads. Good prices. Wonderful flatbread. Just delicious. Good micro brew selection and fast efficient service.

A followup to my review on Basil Flats. So if you read my 1 st review you saw that I was not given two weeks worth of tips on my paycheck. I just now picked up my final paycheck. It should've been for 38 hours for one week. My check was for $45.71 for 5.5 hours for the last two weeks of August. I didn't work those weeks. My check before that was for July 31-July 31. So clearly he does not plan on paying me for the hours I worked. This is such bad business. Again here is the text from the manager about my last check. .. "Joe took off ur tips because u stopped showing up without notice. If ud like to talk to him about it, his number is 303-999-7372." I can't believe ppl expect to run a profitable business treating ppl this way. I'm not alone in my dislike for this man and his unprofessional work ethics. Everyone who was fired or quit knows. I was even told by another ex employee that he does alot of illegal things. So I feel a duty to bring those things to light! He already lost his Boulder business due to bad business. Let's see how long the Longmont store lasts after the public and the courts and BBB find out how he's running things. I was hoping he would have the sense to correct the problem but evidently he wants a fight. On Joe, you're on! :)

2015 Update: STILL 5 stars!!! We still go on a regular basis, and actually I want to say that my hubby recently found out he's celiac which put a damper on our eating out tastiness, BUT not at Basil Flats!! He really likes their gluten free wraps, and having tasted a bite of his wrap, I too can declare that they are really good! (Although I will still be choosing the full of gluten option for my wraps.). ;-) --- We've been going to Basil Flats for almost two years now, since we moved to Longmont! We've had their salads, their pizzas and their wraps! Our go to orders are the Nathan's Favorite salad, the Chicken Riviera wrap and the Chicken Schawarma (sp?) wrap! We love going here as they are quick without being unhealthy "junky fast food", very delicious, fresh, and inexpensive! We come at least every two weeks, all year long! A great lunch or dinner option when you just want to stay out of the kitchen! ;-)

Well, not the place for Gyros. Ordered the gyro and it came out with 2 little strips (1.75 pieces) of meat. Inquired as to how much should be on the sandwich and they said mine was made properly. So, a huge pita and lettuce and tiny meat. Be prepared. I asked how much extra meat was and paid $2.71 so I could add it and make my sandwich a proper gyro that didn't only taste like lettuce. Not a huge $ amount but then they brought it out and it was 2 more little pieces! $1.36 each? Wow. Disappointing experience here. Only gave it 2 stars due to the nice Greek salad I had here the other day. Won't be coming back as there are much better sandwich shops in Longmont.

Delicious place to eat lunch! Have yet to eat dinner here since it is in Longmont and hubby is reluctant to go far unless he absolutely has to, but have had the pleasure of coming her for lunch during the week. Usually get their salads, which are very generously proportioned for the price and add grilled chicken. Can usually barely finish a regular salad, let alone the side of flatbread they also give you...we have also tried their special salads, which are usually good but my fave is still their Greek Salad, while my friend has always gotten the Caesar. Their pizzas are also very tasty, nice thin crust, just enough toppings and large enough to share if you are enjoying it with a salad. Our other friend always gets their chicken wrap, can't remember which one, with a side of fries...nice menu full of good salad, sandwich and pizza choices....they also have some fresh baked goods available and their brownies are yummy! Indoor or outdoor seating, very friendly staff, nice atmosphere, clean and reasonably priced....definitely check it out, it's worth the visit!

If you are craving gyros I would suggest finding another place. The meat here lacks flavor and there was no substance to it, which made the meal difficult to eat. I thoroughly did not enjoy this meal. I'm kind of sick of Longmont and their lack of food diversity. It's as if every restaurant I go in Longmont, has no spice or kick to their food. It's just so bland. Awful.

I happen to really enjoy my dining experiences here @ Basil Flats. It's a no hassle eatery where you order up front and the staff will bring your order to the table of your choice. The prices are OKAY and could be a little better for the portions you receive but the ingredients are prepared well and not loaded with oil or overly seasoned. I'd say they have well balanced recipes. The layout is nice with lots of modern features. The beverage station could use a little more love and can get a little hectic if there are a few people waiting to fill their cups at the same time. The tables are equipped with condiments and they also bring out a basket of napkins and utensils along side your freshly crafted bites. You can also let the staff member know if you need anything else and they usually come back with your request quickly. Like I said, the food is good and it honestly makes me feel like I'm eating pretty healthy. I love their salads and the dressings they have. I'd say if you're up for an Americanized twist with Mediterranean flavors, this is worth a shot if your in the area. I know I'll be back for some more.

Great selection of pizzas with fresh ingredients and very good salads. The Nathan's salad has an amazing variety of ingredients and is great split between two. I'm a little disappointed that they recently removed some of their non-meat options but they do vegi specials pretty consistently.

We were in the restaurant in the last 3 weeks 2x and found that the place was incredibly dirty. The condiment stands on each table was caked with crud and incredibly greasy. It was very appparent that it had not been cleaned in a long while. The booths where littered, stained and dirty as were the floors. We have always been pleased with the food there but were not able to eat our meal wondering what that kitchen must be like if this was the state of the dining room. When concerns brought the the manager's attention, he was very, very young, we were placated with a "fresh from the bottle" condiment table set up but no achknowledgement of the crud we found there. Very, very sad because we had such high hopes for this restaurant. Now I am afraid to eat there. What the heck happened?

THE standout restaurant of 2010 for me. Fantastic atmosphere, spectacularly clean, and incredible Mediterranean food at reasonable prices. The Parmesan Grinder is a real favorite, with fantastic flavor combinations. I'm drooling to try the Falafel Wrap next. Highly recommended!

Once again, with so much competition out there, a restaurant must shine on my first visit. I don't live in Longmont, so this was a random choice. I was not impressed. The service at lunch was mediocre at best. My Mom had the Falafel plate and I had the Spinach and Artichoke Pizza. There was just nothing special about any of this. Her plate was boring and blah. My pizza was good, however, there was only like 3 pieces of spinach on it. Lunch was $16 for 2. A little pricey for a "fast food" place. I would not go again.

I was really in the mood for a good chicken pita sandwich and search and found this place. I was pretty excited but I ended up pretty dissappointed. The sandwich was so-so, chicken was a little cold and not much flavor other than the feta. The fries were a huge dissappointment since they were just your basic fast food variety. I was expecting something much better. I won't be back.

Wow, I've been here like 6 times and haven't reviewed this place yet? For shame. So in those 6 times I have had some four star experiences, and some three star experiences, and once a five star experience. And really, the food is great in my opinion. I've never been a big flatbread pizza person but dang, they are good here. Plus, are there really any other Mediterranean places in Longmont? It could be worse. A LOT worse. First off, the service is hit or miss. Some of the staff members are amazing. They give helpful information on the food, they stop by to see how the meal is going, they bring an extra fork when I manage to almost stab myself and then bitch-slap it to the floor like it was the fork's fault, AND they don't even ask my husband why he is dating a special needs person. That's service. But sometimes, there will be that one person behind the counter who just stands there and doesn't make eye contact and will try to give us a clean glass every time we order another can of Yella Pills even though we obviously have a glass. It's right there. No, really, I'm okay. I don't need the glass. Okay, fine, give me the glass, you picked it up already and it's going in the dishwasher one way or another. It's fine. Thanks. So, that's the counter staff. Have fun with that. The food, I think, is GREAT. For the price, I would expect something a cut under what it is. Everything I have had, I've liked, for the most part. The chicken shawarma wrap was somewhat un-exciting but enh, they can't all be winners. I've had about three different pizzas there and they're all nicely done, good balance of ingredients. The chicken pesto was especially delicious although there could have been more pesto. But they do cook the chicken right which is great, you don't get this flatbread pizza covered with tough little protein nuggets from hell that used to be chicken, maybe. The artichoke frites are my favorite by far. It has never occurred to me in all of my culinary craziness to fry an artichoke heart. Oh my lord. They are delicious, especially the tiny pieces. Excellent when wrapped in one of the handy little pita triangles and topped with remoulade. Yay. And I will say, I do like the hokey "Frequent Flatter Card" they give that gets punched with every pizza you buy. I am one of those gals who carries a man wallet, not some kind of rinkey-dinkey pocketbook from Coach, so I always have it with me and typically remember to punch it, and if I forgot and come back, they'll take pity on me for being a ditz and punch it again. Oh, and they have happy hour EVERY DAY from 3-6. Honestly, this sentence could have been my entire review. If you ignore everything else in this review, just remember that one part.

I have eaten here several times with my co-workers, and have tried several of their fresh salads, and pizza varieties. Everything has been great. I am not a fan of sodas, but have never had to wait at the drink station to fill my water cup. I am usually on my lunch break so have never ordered beer, but liked the selections from the local breweries that I noticed on their menu. A few of the wines sound appealing to me, so will try with dinner next time. I like the decor, ambiance, and food, so I will definitely be back. I hope you can stay around a long, prosperous time here in Longmont!

My wife and I are very big fams of Mediterranean and Middle eatsern food, and hoped that Basil Flats would bring a fresh casual version to the area. Sadly, we were very disappointed with our visit and doubt we'll ever go again. The space is a nice and casual with some nook areas that let you feel a bit more private. You order as you enter the door and then take a seat, where your food is delivered. A nice touch is the red disc the food deliverer leaves that you can put on a holder if you need service. The drink station is a major limitation. it is very small, only room for one person at a time, so you end up with several people standing in line to get their own drinks. there is enough room they should have out a double drink station with room on the sides. On to the food. I am a Shawarma fanatic, having eaten them all over the world in several authentic preparations, so I ordered the Chicken Shwarma. It arrived wrapped in a heavy, undercooked and doughy piece of flatbread, nowhere near the Pita style bread I am used to. Ok I thought, that's fine, lets see how it's made. Not very well is the answer. Shawarma meat is best cooked on the vertical spit and sliced off, this chicken certainly was not. It was just cooked chicken with no seasoning, didn't even taste grilled. There was lettuce and tzatziki as well, but rather than the ingredients being mixed up and wrapped they each occupied their own little area. the tzatiki was good, but overall a wet gooey disappointment. My wife ordered the chicken caesar salad. A decent portion of food with good greens and chicken that was unfortunately drowned in caesar sauce to the point of grossly overwhelming the dish. She gave up after a few bites. Overall a big disappointment all the way around. poor layout of the drink station and poorly executed food will keep us away. Mediterranean and Middle Eastern food are full of spce and freshness, sadly Basil Flats had none of that when we visited.

VERY GOOD greek salad! I was visiting from out of state, this happened to be a restaurant close to where we were at and Im glad we found it! I wish we had this place in CA

Basil Flats is such a great place to be in Longmont for lunch. Worth traveling to eat. Daughter and I visited and had the ultra delicious Chicken parm sandwiches with caesar salad sides. The service was attentive without being hovering and the person at the front center was exceptionally nice and accommodating. At the end of our lunch he delivered samples of a soup and greeted us personably. The restaurant uses local products which are fresh and delicious, think simple, impeccable menu and great service, what more could one want in today's hurried life!

  • Greg P.

This place had some pretty good sandwiches/wraps I had the Italian and the ingredients were fresh and tasty when I added the balsamic vinegar that sat on every table. The drink station is a joke and they give you a 6 oz. glass so your stuck heading over to this little nook that only one person can cram into at a time and you are in the way of anybody coming out of the kitchen when you are standing in line to get a drink. The biggest disappointment however were the pommes frites, they don't know what they are I guess or maybe just not how to make them they should stick to calling them French Fries because that is what I got and they were not as good as Five Guys Burgers and Fries.

Not sure why it took me so long to try this place out, but I'm glad I gave it a shot! This is the only place I can find that serves a decent sized salad for under $6. I come here... almost every weekday. The staff is friendly, they have outdoor seating, and real plates and silverware so little waste per customer. If you are looking for a healthy, locally owned and operated (as in Joe is here almost daily behind the line, working), place to spend your lunch or dinner hour, then give this place a try. Nathan's Favorite is my go to... every day.

A-OK for now but I left thinking it was a little pricey for a walk up counter. We shared a greek salad and ordered a wrap, pizza, one Coors and an ice tea that you have to serve yourself from a quick stop style fountain. That was $36.00 and honestly for the process and quality I felt it was too much. A couple bucks more and we could have been waited on at a better restaurant. That's about what we spend at our favorite Thai place with a couple of beers and we have enough to take home and eat it again.

Great inexpensive place for dinner. One of the few places in town that has Mediterranean fare. I usually sit outside on the patio. Friendly prompt service, open kitchen, good food. They are known for the pizzas and the wraps. We used to go here more when the mall was open and I'm sure we will go more when the mall reopens. Great spot for the dinner part of dinner and a movie.
