We had a really mixed experience last night (our second visit, and 1st was similar). The waitress on our 2nd visit was mostly cheerful, amiable, competent and the other service people (bringing drinks and food) was good and timely also, but we had a lot of problems with the food-not good, also pretty pricey for what we got. The pulled pork sandwich meat tasted like it was right out of the can; the cole slaw had no taste at all and portion size was minuscule; with the southwestern chicken sandwich, the only edible thing was the chicken breast itself; the ciabatta bread was spread with something rancid (butter, marg or oil)-I could not eat it. Another guest had some real problems with the grilled tuna-first undercooked, then way overcooked. Everyone agreed that the cole slaw was boring/inedible. We did complain about the pork, because we feel it is important to give feedback and they offered some chips instead, which was really not an acceptable offer, but then we asked for a comp beer instead and they did provide that, so we give them kudos for that. A plus was that I wanted to order the 3 taco dinner but the waitress said it was basically the worst thing on the menu-I appreciated her telling me this. We will not go again and will caution others likewise.

Great stop after a hot hike, got some chicken nachos and chicken fingers and fries as apps and I ordered the so-co chicken sandwich. It was really good! Great presentation, and the pulled pork was outstanding from what my company said! Great spot for lunch!

I went in for a quick bite tonight. I had the steak salad and a Guinness -- or two. There were five or six "regulars" at the bar. A good group. The salad was very good and the service was prompt. This is my first time in there, so maybe I got lucky, compared to some other reviews I see, but based on my one experience I'm a fan.

Total garbage. Would've given it ZERO stars if I could. Don't waste your time on this place. First the food we ordered was bland, tasteless and not hot. The edamame was straight from the Chinese nuke dump pond. The pulled pork, well I brought home the leftovers (all of it), and my dog wouldn't eat it. My wife's chicken carbonara, was chicken garbage. To top it off, the service and attitude of the waitress was appalling. She was rude, and could not keep our waters full, which incidentally was the best thing that was served that day.

Um. Drinks watered down. Service was below average. Waitress had an attitude. Wasn't happy with this experience, better for a bar experience but not sit down.

After many years and attempts here, I've found the food to be inconsistent and very average. I would love to "love" this place. The staff is great and they have a fun bar atmosphere, I only hope they can make some improvements to the menu and food quality.

It's a fine little place, I had a delicious burger, some very good draft beer selections and wine/liquor, very friendly helpful bartender, parking. I don't think it will become a destination or anything but it's a nice little place, very reasonable prices.

Looks like a decent place to drink but I wouldn't eat there again. Fries were soft and gross, burger was a little over charred and nothing to write home about. My wife's salad was just so-so. The waitress wasn't very friendly, but wasn't super slow so I'd give that 3 stars. Only one colorado craft beer on tap is disappointing but the bottle and can selection was decent. They had decent happy hour specials but we were there at the wrong time. I'll probably go hear again when I want to get fairly drunk with one of my buddies from college. But not to eat dinner with my daughter and wife.

Did takeout here tonight it was OK. I got salmon with grilled veggies and side salad. Boyfriend got the country fried steak and fries, and his mother got salmon and fries and cole slaw. My salmon was cooked very good, nice grill marks and melted in my mouth. But the portion was VERY VERY small. Not worth the $16.50 at all, not unless they were giving me double the portion. My side salad was good and the veggies were meh. The country fried steak was "eh" according to the boyfriend...and apparently it comes with brown gravy which is wrong (it should come with a white pepper sauce). His mother did not comment on her cole slaw.

Went on a limb and tried this place out. Needless to say we wont be back. TERRIBLE service. My coleslaw was just chopped up dry cabbage in a cup . ..the fries were soggy and cold. Wasn't impressed, Ive had better customer service at Mcdonalds. For the money you pay you'd expect service to be on the same level. Must have poor management !!

I wish I would have read the reviews before coming to this restaurant. We waited quite a long time to place our orders. After about 45 minutes the waitress finally returned to our table to see if anyone wanted another drink and to tell us our order was just about ready. At one hour of waiting we went to find our waitress and see what the hold up was. She returns to tell us they lost the ticket and she could have our food to us in 10 minutes if we wanted to wait. Why not? If we went somewhere else we'd surely have to wait much longer, not mention the time to get somewhere else. 20 minutes later we had our food. It was pretty mediocre. The check WAS entirely comped due to the wait, so that was good. As mentioned before, the place was extremely dirty. We sat outside and you could see a thick layer of dirt on the backs of the tables where it hadn't been wiped off by people putting their arms up, or maybe their hair, lol. The waitress came to our table once during the original hour we were waiting on our food. Then she lied, telling us it was almost done. I would avoid this place if I were you.

Dog friendly on the front and back deck. Good beer selection. Gluten free beer (Omission!!!) and buns (soft and delicious).

We come here several times a month for dinner. I have never had a bad meal. The fish and chips are hot, flaky, crispy. Burgers are always perfect. There are specials each and every night of the week. I highly recommend this place!

Great Happy Hour and Tuesday burger night is a great deal. Better TV placement and size would be good, but I like the overall feel.

We've been in a few times and always sit at the bar. The Tuna is really good. Great maybe. Everything else we've tried has been "OK". The french dip - not so good. Really friendly bartender most of the time. The bartender that works on the really friendly bartenders nights off - not so friendly - not rude - just not really interested. Great selection of scotch at the bar. It's a fun place to hang out...

I have crazy cousins who live in Evergreen and this is their favorite place to go. I was here with them for St. Patty's Day and had a blast. It was green beer and Guinness for all! I can't comment on the food but the bartenders were very hospitable and the service was fast, even though the bar was packed for the holiday. I gave them 3 stars as the place was pretty dirty but it went with the atmosphere. Fun place to go with friends and they have live music too. From the other reviews it looks like they have sushi here, this is something I would have never expected! Guess I will have to try it.

One of my favorite restaurants in Evergreen. It has a very large beer selection and good variety of food, both traditional and untraditional. The pasta dishes, sandwiches, and sushi are all great and should be tried by everyone. It's a very funky local restaurant and I definitely recommend it.

I had the country fried steak that was recommended by the waitress. It was terrible, some kind of mystery meat in over fried breading and covered in jarred salty gravy. When I asked.if it was a pre-formed purchased product I was told yes. Disgusting and wrong to charge for pre-formed frozen mystery meat covered in salty jar gravy.

This is the definition of a neighborhood bar. You'll see your fair share of first-nam-basis locals and local families eating lunch and dinner. After dark it breaks down into the 30+ divorced crowd and a few aging ski bums and fly fisherman. Just my style! Karaoke on Thursday nights loosens up scene. Be sure to try the shot ski.

Move along folks, nothing to see here. This might be a decent place to go if your just out for a drink or two, but I was really unimpressed with the food (standard issue bar food) and even less so with the really slow service. I probably won't go back to try again...

  • Steve F.

Refreshing good service. Chips and fries are homemade and yummy. Rest of the food is average. The friendly atmosphere and good service make it worth a stop. The table with your own beer tap is fun and worth a try.

The food was good. The service stunk. I made a reservation and asked to sit so I could see the band. They didn't reserve a table for us and we had to sit right next to a speaker and we got blasted out. They took forever to serve us. We asked about my food and they never even answered us. Later all they could do was say its coming. The staff was very busy, but it was mostly talking to each other or looking at there phones. The only reason I gave them a 3 was because the sushi was very good. The music was very good too.

Was there on a Saturday night... Good atmosphere. Food is bar food and WAY over priced. Service is subpar. Go for drinks and eat somewhere else.

I just called to find out their beer selection (as it is not listed on their website). Bud, Bud Light, Stella Artois, Guinness, Shock Top, Redhook IPA. Come on! This is Colorado - craft beer bonanza and not a single Colorado craft on tap. They did have a nice bottle selection, but it is really disappointing to see that the restaurant doesn't care to offer anything more select than Redhook on tap. I was hoping this would be more than your run of the mill bar (especially considering they offer loco moco on the menu), but their tap selection proves me wrong.

I went on a Saturday afternoon, and it was empty. The decor was nice. The burger was OK. I would go back, it just wasn't anything special.

This place is kind-of a dive bar/restaurant so don't expect anything fancy. It's loud and usually pretty crowded. Have to weave through the bar crowd to get to the bathroom. We haven't tried the bar scene here yet, but the food is good. We booked a reservation online, but there doesn't seem to be much rhyme or reason to getting a table. We were able to snag one. On our first visit my husband loved the mac n cheese. On our second visit, we tried sushi night. We LOVE sushi and have high expectations. It was really good. They have some different and creative rolls. It is a little bit more expensive than most places but they fly it in fresh so it's worth it. They have good beer. We will definitely go back.

I met a friend here for happy hour last week and found the homemade chips and ranch dressing totally addictive! YUM!

What is good about this place: --Wi-Fi is really strong -- They have taps at some of the tables that let you serve yourself beer, which is a novelty to me. -- They have specials basically every day, which brings the cost of the overpriced menu items down to what one would expect to pay anyway. -- The homemade salsa is good. I tend to adjust my expectations in the mountains. I don't expect the same level of service or quality of food as I would in the flat lands. It's very, very hard to keep these places staffed with anyone who cares. The service here is friendly but not overly-efficient. If you stick with the specials you are likely to not be disappointed in the food. If you expect a "quality" experience you will likely find what other reviewers here have.

I have only had the sushi at the Wood Cellar; nothing from the regular menu. They bring in sushi chefs for this 'special' night, on Wednesday and Saturdays. It is really great. The menu is simple and some of the rolls are on the expensive side. You pay a premium for good sushi in the mountains, but in my opinion, its worth it. The seaweed salad is one of the best I have had! Definitely give it a try if you are a sushi lover who finds yourself in Evergreen.

I have been to the Wood Cellar several times and I always leave satisfied with the experience. The food is good, the atmosphere matches the name being a little dark and cozy feeling. The staff has always been adequate, sometimes better than others, but never bad. I am glad to have the Wooodcellar as an option in the Evergreen area and will continue to patronize them in the future.

Actually this is a really good place to have a beer, meet the locals and have fun. The food is much better than you would expect ! Try the seared tuna! My favorite /)

A good setup, low ceilings are not my favorite. Beer selection was light but that's about par for the course in the mountains. It's a good place for a beer, maybe a first/second date.

Local place to drop in for sushi, wings, or a burger. We drop in quite a bit, very conveinent. Food is always very tasty, however the service is alittle s l o w. Just go with friends and you won't notice maybe?

Burgers. I inadvertently go here for the burgers because the meatatarian crew I roll with loves them. I like them also, but I'm not an aficionado of all the varieties. What do I love? Saturday SUSHI NIGHT. You heard me. Gargantuan rolls I can barely get my mouth around. Get yer head out of the gutter, that's not what I meant. The owner Tabor is awesome, and so are the rest of the employees. A veteran of the local bartender scene, he has really made this a great local hangout. I see him behind the bar on a regular basis. In an unincorporated section of the county like Evergreen (did you know it's not a town?), which sees its share of tourists, there's nothing better than a reliable hangout where you know you're rubbing elbows with locals--middle-aged locals who know how to get down. It's a small space not meant to be a music venue, so when they bring in music it gets loud. But, it's usually some great like blues rock and I think one time I detected a hint of jazz, so don't worry. When there's not music, there's a e-jukebox that you can overload with REO before the kids get to it.

Add this to your "best burgers in denver" list. The burgers are just as good as the cherry cricket. The beef is all angus, and tastes great. Not sure if it is sourced locally. The bun is a SOURDOUGH bun, grilled but stays soft inside and tastes just like homemade sourdough. On 2 visits to this place I found the burger to be top notch both times. Not quite as good as parkburger, but a close 2nd. Last night we were with a group of visiting guests, and we ordered the sampler appetizer with wings, chicken strips, chicken wings, fries, and rocky mountain oysters. All of it was tasty, with a special nod to the chicken wings and the RMO's. The tacos here are also really good, and 1/2 price on tuesday nights. My mom ordered a salad with grilled Salmon. The piece of salmon was huge, and looked great. Nice grill marks. Got raves from mom. Our other guests commented this was the best meal out they have had in a while! The service is friendly, although not terribly fast. Skip if you are in a hurry. The slopper plate(burger served open faced smothered in green chili) is fantastic, also huge. It's my lunch today as well. =). One negative comment: drinks are pricey. Beers were 5 bucks each and the standard marg was 8 bucks and wasn't that great. The prices aren't listed anywhere so that was a bit of a suprise when we got the bill. I'll drink elsewhere.

This was a very popular gathering place, but not worth going out of your way for. They have a nice menu for a mountain joint, but the quality of the food was pretty disappointing. I had the Chicken Roulade, which was fairly tasty but small. It was supposed to come with roasted red potatoes and seasonal veggies. They were out of potatoes, which I didn't find out until my meal arrived with risotto instead of potatoes (wish I'd found out about the switch before I'd ordered). The broccoli was awful, overcooked and not fresh.
