We visit this place when we are in the mountains. This place is nice and the people who work there are always pleasant. For the most part, what we have eaten there is good. I did not give five stars because this time we ordered the nachos as we often do and lots of the chips had nothing on them. Mostly only the top 1/3 had stuff and also, there was hardly any chicken on them. They used to be better and we were disappointed. Hopefully, this is not the trend with their food now.

I've tried to like Gore Range. As a beer lover, I WANT to like GR. I have given this place so many chances, but I am done. Every time I go here, I get the absolute worst service ever. I know that this valley doesn't have the best customer service at their restaurants, and I have accepted that. The servers here just take the cake. They are always miserable and don't even bother to give you a smile. Food is mediocre at best, and their cocktails are always just mixes with barely any alcohol. I went today with my friend and she ordered a margarita, I ordered their strawberry jalapeño tequila spritzer. Her margarita was just sweet and sour mix. My drink tasted like water with some added jalapeños. No flavor whatsoever. I ordered the two large pretzels. They were stale and SO greasy, I ate half of one. While eating, I dropped a very small piece on my shirt, and now my shirt has a huge grease stain. After today's visit, I have decided that I will not be returning. There are so many other places that have craft beer, MUCH better food, and decent service. Sorry Gore Range, I tried, but I am sick of being constantly disappointed.

My husband and stopped at the restaurant on our drive from Costco to Breckenridge. We ordered the Ranch Chicken Flatbread sandwich and Pulled Carolina Chicken Sandwich to split. The waiter misunderstood and brought us two Pulled Carolina Chicken Sandwiches. He was very apologetic and order a flatbread sandwich for us. Both of the sandwiches were tasty and the French Fries were among the best I've ever eaten. Next time we are back in the area we will give the restaurant another try.

Came in during off peak hours (145pm) and the service was fast and friendly. S/O to the bartender, Kevin for answering my go to question "what's the best thing on the menu?" and pointing me towards the brisket dip which comes on a delicious house made pretzel roll (which he made me aware of). Seems to be some sort of mug club but I didn't ask about it. Place is very clean and doesn't have your typical brewery smell. The beers were also tasty and there is a good selection.

Nice atmosphere. They brew their own beer on site. Spinach and Artichoke dip is AMAZING with lots of chips! Fried Calamari with sweet & sour sauce was very salty. We asked if this was normally made this way and were told yes; however, the staff was very accommodating and quickly made us a new batch without the seasoned salt and served it to us on the side. $2.50 up change for splitting any plate.

Fun times but a real bummer when they were out of the seafood bucket... Still love the place for get togethers and a quick bite and pint!

Oatmeal stout was tasty during HH ($1.50 off beers). Ordered the grilled artichoke heart appetizer. At $8.50, sorta steep, but outside of California, I always feel I'm over paying for the artichoke anyway. Lamb T-bone ($24) with side of gnocchi was pretty delicious and perfect for a share plate for two. The lamb was the most expensive thing on the menu. Also, for $4, you can get a pickle shot (vodka infused with dill pickles)...which my dining companion loved, but I would rather enjoy in a Bloody Mary. Service was great (we sat at the bar) and friendly. On a Sunday night, not too busy, so that probs helped some. We were staying in Vail Village, so prices seemed uber-reasonable, but also comparable to places in our hometown in Nebraksa. Nice, large patio. Decent daily specials. Nice beers where everyone can find something (or a cocktail, if you'd rather). Good atmosphere. Definitely a good place to go if you have a large out-of-town crowd and need to find something a bit more mainstream.

Really wanted to like this place. I pretty much always eat at brewpubs when I'm visiting a new town and would guess I've been to at least 100 of them. Great patio and nice inside. Hostess was super nice and showed me where we could have our dog nearby but not on the patio. Then time seemed to stop-every step of lunch was so painfully slow-water, drinks, food, etc. Mind you, we sat down at 2 PM on a Sunday and it was not busy in the slightest. Out of the 4 beers, two were decent (IPA and lemon wheat) other two were very flawed and not close to style. Food was actually pretty good, especially my wife's seasonal salad. Prices are very high though and although you could maybe charge these prices in Vail, this is not Vail. So two stars for atmosphere and pretty good food, but beer is sorely lacking and service needs help.

We stopped by Gore Range Brewery for lunch one day and the food lived up to our expectations for a decent lunch stop. The pear prosciutto pizza was delicious and I cleaned my plate. My husband had the ranch chicken flatbread and wished he had ordered my pizza! We had a flight of beer to go with lunch. The beer was okay.

  • Amanda B.

The food was pretty good...we really enjoyed our house salad - it had lots of bacon and the house dressing was a tasty, creamy vinegarette - and the Prosciutto & Pear pizza were really quite good. One person in our group ordered the chicken flatbread and wasn't crazy about it. The beer, atmosphere, and service were so-so. I guess I feel like if you are a brewery-restaurant, at least one of the two should be noteworthy. Of all the beers we tried (we ordered flights) the Wit beer was the only one I really liked. The others I was with seemed to like the Red Ale pretty well, but none of them were memorable.

My family was staying in Vail for the weekend and my step-dad, who is a beer guy, wanted to explore some nearby breweries. We decided to stop here for dinner. I got the beer flight and tried 4 different kinds of beers. I really enjoyed the beers. They were all flavorful! For dinner, my husband and I split the fried pickles and the reuben. The fried pickle were really tasty. They done as pickle chips and I prefer that over spears. The reuben was good but not even close to being the best reuben. I would definitely go here again and recommend it to fellow beer consumers.

Lunch here was good. Greg, our server, was running the show! He was seating guests, taking orders, bussing tables and working the bar, all with a friendly attitude and smile. It took a good 20-25 mins to get our food, but it was freshly prepared and tasty. Beer sampler was great. We also left with some tshirts, one of which was "beer dyed". Great gift for the lager lover!

Happy Hour: 4-6PM $1.50 off GRB Pints $4 well drinks $5 house wines I had the Fly Fisher Red Ale and the Powder Day Pale Ale. The red was just ok, but the PDPA was AWESOME! Love that they list IBU on menu. To eat, we first had the Fried Calamari, which was loaded with seasoned salt! Unfortunately, we had to ask to send it back, which the staff was totally cool about. They then brought us a new one with seasoned salt on side. We'd totally recommend the calamari, but if you're at all sensitive to saltiness, ask for it on side. The sweet and sour cilantro sauce with it was VERY good! Next, we ordered the Spinach and Artichoke Dip, which was delicious. Couldn't say a bad word about it. We were happy to see that they served the Dip with a generous amount of tortilla chips, as many places cheap out in this area. So, to recap: good food, great service, and terrific beer. The #1 aspect that keeps this review from getting five stars, is the $2.50 plate split upcharge. This is a lame policy that GRB should reevaluate, as we usually get an appetizer and split an entry....ESPECIALLY when doing drinks. So, instead, we ate two appetizers, which was less money spent. We would have LOVED to try/split the fish tacos, but the idiotic upcharge killed that idea!

Seemed very non brewery like. They served a lot of non craft beers and the majority of people were drinking bud light not their beers. It was a nice place and I liked the doors and everyone was friendly but definitely not your typical brewery, more commercialized, dinner restaurant with a bar.

This place used to rock with great food. New owner, stale menu, very mediocre food and they continue to raise prices. Most of the locals who used to be regulars have stopped going.

The food was fast and delicious. The server was courteous and attentive. The brisket dip was amazing, but the pulled pork was a little spicy for my girlfriend, so we traded. The Oktoberfest lager was good too. I would definitely eat here again.

Fairly mediocre experience in terms of service, food and pricing, but do have solid beers. Would recommend for happy hour but wouldn't be near the top of my list for dinner, even in Edwards.

Decent beer. Didn't try the food. Prices were okay. Had a pretty good selection of beers. Nice atmosphere.

There are some restaurants you go to and have an amazing experience and when you return you're a little let down....this place is NOT that restaurant. Every time I go here I cannot order anything but the fried pickles and BBQ Spice Rubbed Brisket Dip-it's so good I'm nervous everytime I come back it's going to be off the menu (I have a sad history or finding irreplaceable items on menus that get taken away). Today we just finished eating there and I was almost embarrassed how excited I was to eat this meal. I was blown away even more this time than the last 5+ times I've had this over the last few years. My husband and I NEVER get the same menu item except for here...because we both want every-single-bite of the perfectly buttery and soft pretzel bun that's just crisp enough on the edge for dipping in a great au jus....the spicy slaw is a great pair for the tender thin layers of meat that are hanging off the sandwich as they don't short you on the portion! The sides are all equally as impressive with some of the best French fries I've ever had! For those of you curious about my fried pickle lust...I'm from the south. I know a good fried pickle. These are perfect. They don't leave your hands wet with grease...they actually have enough pickle in them to hold the perfect batter that doesn't oo or goo when you dip it in the Amazing sauce they pair with it....no pickle chip compares to these! And they also have a nice taster of beer too! :) You will NoT be disappointed if you go here!!!!!

Been here 3 times and it's been consistently pleasant each time. The beers are good, but I'm usually a big fan of IPA's and for some reason I'm not a fan of theirs. The red is my choice. The fries are not to be missed. I love the garlic mayo they serve with it. And the späetzle reminds me of something I used to eat as a child. I loved it. Great consistency and the sour cream sauce is so silky. We'll be back soon!

Good mix of items on the menu. Nice to have something for everyone. The list of beers is always a plus and I'm pretty sure that have one or three you'll find interesting. The service was good as well.

We've been here 3 or 4 times and the food is pretty good. The beer is average brew pub quality if you're a beer snob like me. Nothing remarkable but a nice environment and fun place.

  • Nick H.

Standard pub fare mostly, a little bit pricy on the food side. I really liked the tomato soup with grilled cheese. They used cheddar and basil in the sandwich, which I thought was a great combination. I also got the beer sampler, pretty standard stuff, but I liked the red ale a lot. We sat on the back patio, which is a beautiful spot in the summer. The service was ok. Overall a decent spot, not great, not bad.

I've been to over 350 breweries and brewpubs in the US and Canada, and it really surprised me to find one of the worst IPAs in memory here in Colorado. Especially because some of their beers - namely the dubbel and the stout - were passable, though others tasted like kit beers. It looked and tasted like they just dry-hopped their lager a bit more to make it. The food menu is very pricey, but I guess you have to consider where you are. The most appetizing thing seemed like the burger, though I don't like to gamble on burgers that are $10+ because they tend to be really disappointing. After I ate what I did, which was decent but not great, I still wouldn't risk it. The vibe in here was a bit awkward. It's smaller than it looks from the outside, and the bar had a lot of ways to block the view to the other side and out the windows. They were also dead, but it's the dead time of year. Maybe it's a killer party atmosphere in here during the season.

What's happened to this place??? Went in to have lunch, the guy who seated us looked like he just got out of bed. Served us some coffee and spilled it all over the table. It was dirty. We left. It was 12:30 and no customers - we see why.

Very nice patio behind the restaurant and blocked off from street by bushes. Excellent prime rib sandwich on pretzel bun. Fries were crispy, full of flavor and perfectly salted. We said we were splitting the sandwich and they brought it out on two plates with what ended up being twice the fries. Nice service. We'd go back if in the area.

My husband and I have been to at least 20 brew pubs in the state of Colorado alone...we figured in a resort area we would have a wonderful experience..but not at this place...it is relatively new so we didn't have any reviews to go off of. We weren't able to sit at the bar because it was full, so we were seated at a table. The waiter we had barely spoke English. He didn't even come by to take our drink orders until we had already decided on food!!! We ordered a few of their beers and our entrees. I guess because we ordered it all at the same time they thought we might want it to arrive at the same time?????? So...our beers AND food all arrived together..then we were never spoken to again ..my husband had to go to the front and ask for a box. Eventually our waiter was close enough for us to flag him down so that we could pay. We would have had more beer ...too bad our waiter never asked us if we needed anything. We found ourselves at Vail brewing ( just down hwy 6) it had a food truck and the beer is soooo much better than Gore!!! Don't waste your time at Gore ..

Overrated, looked at reviews and saw this place had a good amount of positive reviews for beer and food. Beer was sub par and served in a ridiculous sampler - 4 total for around 7$ - in a weird wire rack. I ordered a burger - the meat was hand made but did not have much flavor - also they didn't have much options for burgers. I think the most disappointing part was the tomato slice and lettuce was worse than produce found at Walmart! Could not believe they would serve that on a 13$ burger! Fries were good , hubby got fish and chips was good. But not the place you expect by all the reviews. Mediocre place with average food and beer - def better options in the area.

Stopped by for some food and beer. Nice place - bigger than other places we visited that day. Tried the goat cheese pizza (w/pistachios, goat cheese, cranberries), the mix sounded odd but was really good. Nice thin crust. Also tried the pretzels - great pretzels, wished the sauce options were as good as the pretzels. Also went for the short rib on polenta (nice and cheesy!) with bacon wrapped asparagus - pretty great. The beers were good - nothing super memorable. If in the area - i would eat here again.

I used to work the the owner of the GRB back when he was Head Chef at the Park Hyatt at Beaver Creek. Now that I work right across the street, I decided to stop in with my wife. We were not disappointed. We ordered a pair of pretzels (they come on convenient hooks) and spinach and artichoke dip for appetizers, and they were both great. It was also a lot of food, so we split a Reuben sandwich for dinner. They gave us a neatly divided sandwich, two plates and what was probably a double portion of our side order, some kind of amazing sweet potato salad. The staff seemed genuinely happy, and stayed on top of us all night without becoming intrusive. We will certainly come back.

We stopped by after searching google for a brew pub on our way from Denver to Moab. We enjoyed it greatly and stopped in on the return trip. Beers great, but the food was fantastic. Chick pea fries and shishito peppers were great starters, and then we sampled all of the sandwiches. Did not venture to the pizza or entrees, and this was a lunch stopover. Notable was the corned beef on the Rueben, best ever. The chicken BBQ and pulled pork were both great as well, nice plating with the sides of potato salad and coleslaw (and french fries) all interesting (e.g. tarragon). It is apparent there is much thought into the design of the dishes and the plating and serving. Attention to detail in the dishes was everywhere. Highly recommended.

The concierge at our hotel recommended Gore Range, so we gave it a try. The food was mediocre at best. We ordered 5 entrees and three were not edible. We sent two back (my wife decided she would just eat hers), and the replacement wasn't much better. The waiter became perturbed when I sent the food back. When I got the bill, only one of the entrees we returned was removed from the bill. I questioned the charge and the waiter told me that the manager said to include the charge because "we cooked the food." I told her to ask again and the charge was removed. Overall, a poor experience.

After skiing and Steel Pulse concert on the last day of the ski season, April 20, 2014, we went to the Gore Range Brewery for dinner at about 8 pm. There were 5 at our table and we were starved. Our waiter, who was also the host, would disappear for long periods of time. We ordered sandwiches and soups. The portions were big and reasonably priced for Edwards, but across the board, the taste of the food was average, nothing special.

What does an overly-fancy glitzmagnet like the Vail Valley need? A bomb-ass brewpub that serves up high quality brews and eats that go toe-to-toe with every other fancy Eagle Co establishment while ditching the snobby tourist trap atmosphere that pervades the valley. Quite simply, if you're in the area and looking for a down to earth place to grab locally brewed beer along with some amazing food, Gore Range Brewery is the place you want to be. Les break it down for ya, so you can get the low on how high this sideways place get's down. Or something. I think I heard someone use those words on a chairlift once, but maybe not in that order. Food. I'd get all Shakespeare on this, except that most of the dishes here are best described by "ooh" and "yum," to borrow the parlance of the noble Neanderthal. The menu starts off with some great apps, with the giant pretzels and nachos being particularly outstanding, especially as apres fare. Soups and salads? Uh, yeah. Grilled cheese is mandatory with tomato soup; salads aren't just a pile of green with a tomato on top. Sandwiches are a strong suit, cf. delicious brisket and reubens, burgers perform well if not outstandingly. Da 'Za delivs--no boring pies here, especially with what's on the special board. And the entrees always, absolutely deliver. It's good food, plain and simple. Beer. Or as the Germans like to say, Bier, which sounds exactly the same except louder. Very solid to say the least. The beer is all over the place in terms of style and it changes frequently. The pale ale is always delicious and the wheat beer is solid if not worth starting a new thread about on BeerAdvocate. The rest of the beer menu, as far as I can remember through past-looking beer goggles, is usually in flux, but it delivers. When the brewer starts messing around and getting all zany and whatever other words the kids use, those brews are usually really good. In fact, if they'd just start putting out more beer nerd style beer, they could probably be one of the better breweries in the state. Service and Ambiance. Yeah, I like chillin' in here wit my dogs 'n' bros. Or whatever chairlift guy said, he looked like he was dressed for the terrain park so I don't trust him, damn kids. It's a nice atmosphere, with lots of wood and well thought out lighting accents. The bar area sits in between two dining areas and the walls are more windows than wood. It feels cozy and friendly; not divey but not too fancy either. And most people in there are smiling and friendly, as mountain folk are wont to be. Service has always been good for me. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable about their food and beer and it's always been prompt. GRB is a good place to hang in my book. Price. Well, I'm cheap. But GRB isn't a discount kinda joint. That I think the value is on target says a lot. Most food clocks in at $10, the beer at $5. It's not a cheap apres or dinner joint, but the food, beer, ambiance, and service all are on point, so it's hard to say that there's a value disparity. You're not getting a bargain here, but it's not what I'd call expensive either, and the whole experience is certainly worth the moderate price tag. The crime? Delicious food and beer in a friendly, cozy environment. The punishment? Visits from happy locals and visitors alike. It's a harsh sentence, but Gore Range Brewery viciously wins my heart by filling my belly, making my head spin, and doing it all with a smile, so the punishment must fit the crime. Next time you're in Edwards (or looking to apres after skiing Vail or the Beav) stop by Gore Range Brewery and enjoy an evening of food and beer in the mountains.

We had an excellent lunch on our way between Vail and Eagle. The food was delicious and the service friendly and attentive. Much healthier choices than implied by the "brewery" name. We didn't taste their beers, but we'll definitely be back for the food. The Ranch Chicken on flatbread was excellent. Fresh, tasty salads are also offered. They have a wood fired oven for what looked like delicious pizzas and flatbread choices. It's a rather unassuming place, but had much higher quality food presentations than expected. Don't pass it up!

This place is way overrated, in my opinion. I really wanted to like it because we have a place in Edwards so I spend a ton of time there, but the service just sucks. We came in and asked for a table for 7 on Sunday (we had 6 and one was joining us). We got a table for 6. Not a big deal, probably a miscommunication. It took 10 minutes for us to get water or anything. Here is where it starts to go downhill. We asked the server how much pitchers were, and she wasn't sure. She said she thought they were all the same price, $10 off happy hour and $5 on happy hour (it was like 5 minutes before the hh started). That seemed too good to be true, so I asked her to double check. Took her 15 minutes. When she came back, instead of telling us the prices, she announced that she was cut and someone else would be taking over. Switching servers when someone is cut never bothers me because I used to hate waiting for one table when I was serving, but she still should have followed up with pitcher prices, especially after 15 minutes. So now we have been there for 25 minutes. New server comes up, and we ask her the pitcher prices. She doesn't know either. You guys have like EIGHT BEERS on tap and you are a BREWERY. How is it possible that none of the servers know the pitcher prices?! She goes to ask and, no lie, 10 more minutes pass. Finally I just go up to the bar to ask the bartender. He ignores me for a couple minutes because he was too busy having an argument with another waitress, in front of everyone, about whether or not the slammed him that morning. Dude, no one here gives a shit. I just want a beer. Eventually I basically interrupt them to ask about the pitcher prices, and the BARTENDER doesn't really know either. He says they are usually 4x the pint prices, but they are trying to figure out how to ring up the pitchers to reflect that the happy hour pints are $1.5 off. I appreciate that they are trying to get us the lower price, but seriously has no one ever ordered a pitcher during happy hour before? The waitress takes our entree order after we finally get a pitcher order in. While we were waiting to find out the prices, we had time to order two rounds of apps- the fry appetizer is tiny, as are the fried pickles. All the entrees come out (pretty quickly, to be fair) before the pitcher comes. I ask her about the pitcher. She has clearly forgotten to order it. The food was fine. The fries were really good, and they were nice when we asked for a ton of ranch. My meatball pizza was like 2.5 stars. The crust was really soggy. The goat cheese pizza had great flavor, and less soggy crust. I waffled between 1 and 2 stars. In fact, I gave it one star but then I cam beack because I felt bad. They weren't super rude, the food was fine-ish, they were just really poorly trained (and there isn't much of an excuse for the bartender's argumetn and then subsequent snark). The food is just ok. I typically round up, but I jsut couldn't bring myself to do it this time. Mostly because I have never had to work so hard to get a beer- and this place bills itself as a brewery.

Popped into Gore for a quick beer and a snack. Sampled a few of the drafts and the WIT was awesome!! My guy ordered pale ale, he liked it very much. We ordered just the fries for the snack. Yum!! For my last night we decided to come back to Gore and have dinner. What a treat!! Started with the petite nacho. Do not order the full unless you are wanting to feed an army!! Petite was delish with plenty of toppings for all the chips. Still huge portion!!! I had the lamb entree. They prepare it med rare. It came med rare. Perfect. Seasoned beautifully!! The spinach and gnocchi (ms?) sooo yummy!! My guy ordered the wedge. It was a lil chopped up which I loved, he said not a wedge. Der. Still yummy w plenty of goodies on it. His son ordered the Italian pizza. It was not the best but pizza is still good. Oh and had to have dessert. Cookie sandwich this yummy. We had to have extra Caramel and chocolate sauce because we love it and also ordered the blackberry cobbler. Both yummy and filled our craving for sweets. Overall the five stars is for the WIT and pale ale beer, fries, lamb entree, desserts and service was impeccable with a smile on every member of the staff. Also quick service!! Hope it sticks around for my next visit to CO!!

For Gore Range Brewery I have a split vote. Three stars on the beer. It tasted ok but was not really all that memorable or a standout. I got the wheat beer and while it was not bad... again it was not outstanding. What I did feel was outstanding was their pizza. Four stars for the pizza that I had. I had a very unique pizza with pistachios and cranberries in it. Almost always in adventurous mood when it comes to eating I of course had to order it. Despite what some may say about the nontraditional ingredients in this particular pizza; the pizza was delicious! If I ever make it back to Edwards I will indeed make a point to have lunch here. Not necessarily for the beer but for the pizza!!

I'm not sure what these two and three star people are talking about because we ate here and it was perfect. We've been on the road for four days exploring cuisine and this topped it all. We split the summer salad, potato skins, chicken sandwich and fresh blueberry cobbler. The portions were perfect size and everything tasted phenomenal. They even brought out our food the order we requested with perfect timing. Our server was Natalia and she was great too! All around fantastic experience!

My beer snob companion thought the beer was great. Short ribs, as other have said, were tasty. The house salad was good too, not your average boring affair, this one had onions, kalamata olives, BACON, blue cheese...the other salads looked great too as did pretty much everything on the menu. Wish we were staying longer so we could come back. Also, we walked in at 8 on Saturday and were seated immediately, served drinks right away and food shortly thereafter. Place was busy but not chaotic. If we are in the area again we'll definitely be back.

I decided to revisit the Gore Range Brewery several nights ago with the family. We tried to go to Etown which we love but the wait was to long. We ordered and then about 25 minuets latter the manager came over and told us they forgot to place our order , apologized and said it would be a while before our food was ready. She said she would adjust our bill. When we received our bill she had done nothing! I gave her a stare and she could care less. This really ticked me off so I gave the waitress a 20% tip as I hold the Manager responsible for this screw up and her B.S. about adjusting the bill. As a result of her actions(manager) I will not be back. My family prefers Etown as the food and service is always great, which is why there is always a wait for a table. Its always a shame when bad management kills a small restaurant. I would replace this woman before its too late..

My wife and i were once disrespected by the staff racially profiled and deeply insulted to the point i have not been back in 4 years. I want to be fair to the business they have new staff and i hear they are great. The fact remains that i contacted the "owners" at a number i was provided by management and i never got an apology. so i think three stars is more than enough.

God that was awful. Firstly it was $25 for fish/chips and a beer! I thought this would be a basic decision difficult to mess up, but they managed. I pretty much eat anything and I am not very picky but the beer batter was literally an inch thick all around. The pieces of "Atlantic Cod" were the size of half a sardine. All the pieces of cod were completely fried to death. If you like the taste of small wood chips slathered with beer batter then eat here! I wish I was exaggerating but I am not... Go to the gas house across the street!

This review is just for the beer and fries. We didn't eat a meal here so I have no idea what their food is like. We thought their Nitro ESB was fantastic! It is inspiring me to maybe try nitro on my own homebrew because it makes it go down so smooth. I tried the sampler of beers and really liked the stout and the farmhouse ale. Their garlicky fries were good, and the bartender was very nice. We caught some of the olympics and baseball on their flat screen TVs at the bar. I have no complaints here, we were on a cross country road trip (seeing breweries, baseball games, and vintage vinyl stores and to see family) and it was an enjoyable place to make a stop on the west side of Denver.

Terrible. I stood at the hostess stand for 10 minutes only to be ignored by the hostess as she fiddled on her computer. Literally on the other side of the stand... 2ft away. Finally another hostess came up and helped me. The table wait was 45 minutes. We waited and I went to check on my table only to be ignored again by the girl at the hostess stand. We left....

A great place to drink a beer, eat a burger and watch the game. One of my regular haunts when I am in Edwards. The beer, which they brew, is always good. It has a great atmosphere. A place for locals or those of us just visiting. The food is what I expect from a brewery.

never again... I recently was vacationing in Edwards, Co. My family and I decided to try a local spot Gore Range and Brewery looked good, so why not. While eating I went to use the restroom and noticed I was accompanied by the cook, chef, or kitchen staff. I was shocked to see after his completion of the restroom he left without washing his hands. Being from California I know there are law and regulations making sure workers wash their hands to promote cleanliness and health. This was not the case here. Disgusted I walked over to the female manager working on 1/26/13 and told her what I saw. She stated she would speak to the individual and handle it. I wanted to make sure there was something being done about this. Upsettingly I never saw her go and speak to this person who was now back and working in the kitchen. I again made a request about this unacceptable behavior and she replied " I can't do anything about it, its human nature" and walked away. This infuriated me! I like good food and good beer, I also like a healthy and clean place to enjoy those. This was not it. Especially the way the situation was handled. One star is being generous.

We were in the Vail area for a long weekend and had a late lunch at Gore Range. We located them through their excellent website which helped us decide to go there instead of another place that had a poor site. Even though they were busy, and there was an event going on in a nearby town, the service was excellent. The good: - We were greeted right away with a smile, then seated on their very nice patio - A very friendly server took our drink orders which came quickly. Our meals were brought out in a timely fashion. - The server noted an item that should have come with the meal even before we noticed, then got it very quickly. - Overall the food was well prepared and good. The homemade fries were extra good and the lamb burger I ordered was huge and cooked just as I asked for it! The not so good: - One in our party had ordered the pulled pork sandwich which was very dry and hard to chew. The server did stop by early on to ask how things were going and he noted that this was not good. She quickly apologized and whisked it away, then brought a menu back saying he should pick something else. He picked the chicken which he said was very good. This took away one star, and could have been more had the server not handled it so great. The bad: Nothing All in all, except for the dry pork, the food, service and atmosphere was great. We'll be back when our travels bring us to the area again. Recommended!

The Gore Range Brewery sounds like a great choice one night when meeting up with some family that was in town. First and foremost the beer was delicious. I can't recall what brew I had but everyone enjoyed what they had to offer. When meal time came round I ordered the brisket sandwich on a pretzel bread. It was a treat; extremely filling and very tasty. The whole crowd seemed to enjoy their meal. The atmosphere was bit loud but I think that had to do with the design of the building and we were seated next to a window that was absolutely drafty and cold. Otherwise I'd go back to try more local brews and food.

Some of the reviewers who have given this establishment a one star must have mixed it up with Burger King or maybe Wendy's. Gore Range is a fantastic place to feast upon a sports-bar styled, yet true to Colorado meal. It's a great place to eat, drink, and be merry. It's a wonderful place to bring both friends and family wether it's to eat or to watch the big game. Sure, I've had a bad waiter every now and then, but 90% of the time, I get excellent service. It's understandable how rushed the waiters are sometimes when they are completely packed, as with any restaurant. I've had no meal here that has let me down.

Beer: 4 stars Food: 4 stars Service: 2 stars You come to a brewery mainly for the beer so we will start with that... I got a flight in order to sample a few beers. I found it interesting they put it in no particular orders as most breweries I've been to put the beers in the suggested drinking order. The Powder Day Ale was solid, the wheat beer was forgettable, the stout was very good, and the red ale was by far the best. If I had to go with one pint it would hands down be the red ale. The food was pubby, but that's to be expected. The wings were very good. We had to get mild as we had a wimp in the group, but they were cooked well, not overly crispy and certainly not mushy (which is always a turn off). The burgers were solid and large, order them if you are starving. One person got the pulled pork and was pleased with the sandwich. The sweet potato fries were great, lightly salted and appeared more baked than fried. The atmosphere was very good and energetic. The usual exposed piping and brewery equipment for display. However, the service really brings the rating down. Our server was completely uninterested in waiting on us. He would disappear and was hard to flag down. He also messed up our order. While I mentioned above the sweet potato fries were good, we weren't suppose to get the sweet potato fries. We were suppose to get sweet potato skins ... Since we just got our food pretty much thrown on the table and the guy never showed back up, we just went with it. I would come back for a few beers, but would definitely skip the table service...

Average food, good beers. "wood-fired" pizza's were very under-cooked. When I see wood fired on a menu I think crispy crust w a slight smokey flavor, this was a very flimsy crust. We went with a group of 15 and nobody was really impressed w the food, although the buffalo wings weren't amazing, they were the only thing that got above average feedback. Beers were good, great sex honey ale, whitewater wheat were both good. I would maybe come here for a few pints, but NOT dinner.

Really cool restaurant! They make their own beer in house, and have some excellent dark beers and also their red ale is probably the best red ale I've ever had. The food is pretty fantastic too. Nothing really crazy but definitely a place for your standard pub fair with a twist. Super friendly staff! Everyone is so nice that works there and you feel welcomed as soon as you arrive. A local hang out and one thing that I've noticed about Colorado is that everyone is really nice and also has a drinking problem, hahaha, so this is the perfect place to come to! Jen is such a nice bartender, and patient haha. Get the nachos and the rueben!!! Not both at the same time because that'd be way too much food!

First of all, this place has pretty decent food AND beer (a little too much mayo in the salad dishes, namely the Fall Salad, and the mussels were sort of tasteless, though good quality). BUT the food and beer, and the fact that it's pretty regularly packed, is not enough for us to overlook the fact that it is chaos in there. Who's in charge?! Walking in, there was nobody at the door taking down parties. It took 10 minutes for anyone to acknowledge us and the hostess blatantly walked by us w/o so much as a word. No, this is not a fancy place, but it's not cheap either! Might be time for some employee training. Don't get me wrong, our server Nicole was friendly and totally accommodating (I wouldn't say she in particular needs more training). But once seated, our beers alone took at least 15 minutes. One main dish came at least 30 minutes after the beers but none of our other dishes came out for another 15 minutes thereafter. We commented on the timing to Nicole, who was understanding, but then nobody else came to our table to apologize or say anything whatsoever. Nothing was marked down in the end either. Kudos to Nicole for handling a tough situation but as Edwards residents, can't say we'll be back; we've given this place way too many chances.

Meh... That's how I feel after my meal tonight at Gore Range Brewery. I was looking forward to trying this place, as I'll be working in the area (from Denver) for the next few months. Stood at at door/hostess area for about 2:00 minutes (is that long? it felt long) before someone greeted/sat me. I'll note that 5 different employees walked by without saying anything, and making eye contact. After being seated, I ordered the Powder Day Pale Ale....which ended up being the most solid part of the whole visit. Ordered the grilled chicken portabella salad as my entree, and it was mediocre at best. The lettuce was soggy, the grilled chicken was extremely dry...and the portabella was flavorless. (note: see other reviews..the salad was drenched in balsamic vinaigrette...suggest you order on the side) Followed up the Pale Ale with the Biker Stout, which more of a dry stout vs. an american style (think Guinness), which was served on nitro apparently. It had decent aroma, but severely lacked in body/mouth feel for my taste. I can see how this place has it's own little niche in this small town, but I suspect it wouldn't do well among the competition of Denver area breweries. The brewery area/system is beautiful, from what i can see, and one could see there was a lot of money spent on the equipment....I would however implore the owners to put an emphasis on higher quality ingredients/preparation of food, and perhaps a better emphasis on educating and expanding (read seasonal/experimental) the brewery side of the restaurant. Perhaps this small of a market doesn't justify such endeavors, but I personally am a believer in quality vs. quantity...and I think more or less, others are as well. I may give Gore Range another shot in the coming months, but I'm not hopeful at this point. First impressions are key.

What happened, you guys? This used to be one of my family's favorite restaurants in the Vail Valley. Since they've changed management or something, the menu was cut down to a mere page of mostly bar food. It used to be a very extensive menu of at least four pages. Our favorite things had been taken off. The rotisserie chicken was once kind of a staple here, but they don't have it anymore. The only thing left from the old menu that I liked was the buffalo chicken salad, and they're serving it differently -- the onions were small and basically fried pieces with no onion in them and the salad was soggy. Then there's the beer -- or lack thereof. I hardly think you can call a restaurant "The Brewery" when you have maybe seven beers total on the menu. They aren't even brewing their own anymore, and when we inquired as to whether they would still eventually get back to serving their "Great Sex Honey Ale", a real favorite, they said they likely wouldn't be. They want to try new things, which is clearly not working out for them. Maybe they shouldn't mess with a good thing. We also had terrible service when we went. Our waitress was extremely inattentive and checked on us maybe twice throughout the whole meal, once to take our order, and once to drop off the bill. We flagged her down several times, but she was very nonchalant about serving us at all. One of us got a glass of wine so late after requesting it that she no longer wanted it anymore as she had completely finished her meal by that point. I'm sorry to say that I don't think we'll be visiting The Brewery much anymore unless they get their act together. It's just not what it used to be.

We say outside on the patio on a warm summer evening. The service was good but the beer selection was sad. I only drink dark beers, even in the summer, and all they had were light beers. Bacon wrapped scallops were very good but the margarita pizza was disappointing. My kids loved their pasta and pizza. We would go back.

The beer I ordered - a hefeweizen - wasn't the most memorable. But of all the breweries, I've toured this one ranks right up there solely for the fact that our bartender was awesome. He let us give ourselves a self-guided tour of the brewery, gave us free mugs leftover from last year and was very funny/friendly. Plus, in snotty Eagle County, it's nice to find a comfortable place with an everyone knows your name kind of atmosphere.

I had the best sandwich here! Pulled smoked chicken with crispy onion rings and their mustard bar-b-que sauce. So good! Washed down with one of their micro-brews. After a day of hiking this place really hit the spot. Fantastic.

This was exactly the casual, down to earth place I needed after a few days of fancy Vail Village dinners. After a long day of skiing in snowy weather, I was really craving cold beer and comfort food. This brewery is mid-sized, but even on a Friday night, our party of 8 only had to wait for 45 minutes during peak times. It's lively and bustling, and service is quick. The menu features 6 regular beers plus a seasonal one, all from their brewery and on tap. The sizes range from a 5 oz taste for only $1.50 to a pitcher (64 oz) for $16. It's cheap enough to get a full set of tastings of each flavor. My favorite was the dark great sex honey ale, which had a really sweet note at the end. The menu features standard brewery fare, from burgers and sandwiches to pizzas to ribs and bbq. We started with wings and nachos. Wings come in regular bbq, Thai, or buffalo, and they're not as greasy as I expected. The nachos were big, but they didn't have enough salsa and other toppings. I had the chicken and portabello salad, which was simple and standard but the light and satisfying dish I needed. With some extra bbq sauce (they have honey mustard or regular, which is more vinegary), it was exactly what I was craving. The garlic herb roasted chicken is a huge half of a rotisserie chicken, with a slight lemon taste, and it was super moist. I loved the bbq sauce, so I covered the chicken in it. We got it as a combo with ribs, so it was a huge dish that also came with 2 sides. Pulled pork was standard and sweet. Portions are really filling, so it's a good deal. The vegetarian pizza was thin crust, but I prefer my crust a bit more crisped. Sides included vegetables, sweet barbecue baked beans, cole slaw, mashed potatoes, and parmesean potatoes, which were crisped roasted potatoes, but they lacked the kick I expected. We were too stuffed for dessert. Service was quick once we were seated, and the server was polite. It's a pretty packed place on a weekend night. It's a great local spot that's a good change from the Vail Village area.

Don't even think about eating here unless you enjoy being treated rudely and waiting forever for your average food. I'm a local and this used to be our staple favorite in Edwards, but after two very bad experiences, we're never going back.

We were so excited to find out that GRB had a gluten free menu. However of the two gf burger (no bun) meals ordered one arrived with a regular bun. We sent it back to the kitchen and it returned to our table in under 5 minutes. Suspicious that a new burger was not made, we sent it back explaining to the waiter that if the bun was just taken off our son would get sick. He returned again 10 minutes later with a new burger. We were told that the fries were gluten free and fried in a seoerate frier, so both gf diners tried them. Unfortunately both gf diners were sick after eating gf meals. Wish restaurants would actually make gf food for people with celiac instead of just diners wishing to sort of be gluten free. The rest a the non gf diners had decent food.

My husband and I stopped in to Gore Range completely on a whim - we were headed to Lark Burger and decided we'd rather sit down and eat. Should have stuck to Lark Burger! Gore Range wasn't horrible, but I've definitely had better food and service. I had a beer (no gluten free options) and ordered the beef brisket platter with mashed potatoes and a side salad. The salad was a really strange combo of ingredients and was drenched in dressing. Next time - dressing on the side... The brisket was pretty fatty, but the good news is that it wasn't drenched in sauce (just smoked - yum - sauce on the side) so it was relatively easy to cut around the fat. Our server was okay, but there was definitely preference toward the locals at the Gore Range. The upside to this place was that there were a ton of TVs and my husband really wanted to see a Mets/Yankees game, so we were totally covered. Although it won't be high on my list, I'd visit Gore Range again. Maybe the second time is the charm!

The "special" steak sandwich was very good. It had a really unique, tasty sauce on it. The clam chowder and crab cakes were good. And the pulled pork sandwiches were tender but needed the barbeque sauce. They came with a spicy cole slaw that we really liked. Our waiter met our needs but he wasn't very friendly. The beer was above average.

I use to like the Happy Hour here because the great deals made it worthwhile. However, under the new ownership there is no longer food specials and the beer is just ok. No longer a reason to go there over any place else.

Had such a bad experience at the GRB tonight i decided to sign up on yelp just to write about it. The first time wasn't great either but I believe in second chances. Second time was worse. Drinks: Beer is ok, red ale and pale ale are their best. Service: they try, but really it seems like no one cares and can't get your order right. Food: took us 30-40 minutes to get nachos and a little pizza. Don't recommend either. Could tell the cheese was melted on the chips and then sat under a heat lamp and got rock hard until the pizza was ready. Toppings were a glob of salsa, sour cream, guacamole, and some really dry tasteless chicken pieces. My wife had the goat cheese pizza with craisins and pistachios. Flavor was interesting but the dough was tasteless and the entire pizza was dry. It needed a sauce or some olive oil or something. I would not recommend going here for anything other than an expensive marginal beer.

As this is the only brew pub in my neighborhood, I visit here maybe once a quarter (so a number of times over 6 years). Things here don;t really change much and in short they have pretty good food, pretty good service and barely average beer. Very typical upscale pub styled food is the fare: the Thai pizza is not to be missed, and all their BBQ (pork & chicken) is very satisfying. The back patio makes for a good apres rafting/fishing/hiking spot, but make sure to pass on the patio on a music night as the bands are typically way too loud to have a conversation. If only the beer was good, this place would move up into 4 stardom.

I used to really love this place, but a few moths ago the place came under new management or hired a new head chef or something and the place is just not what it used to be. The menu has been stripped down and some of the best stuff from the old menu didn't make the cut. And I don't know if you can even call yourself a "brewery" if you have less than a half dozen beers on your menu. The "Great Sex Honey Ale" was killer but they for some reason decided to get rid of it. The food that we had was fine... There was nothing outright offensive about it, but if you're going to do a total overhaul of a restaurant, you should at least have something spectacular to show for it. Also, the service was hands down THE WORST that I've ever experienced at a restaurant. We were seated next to the kitchen so we could see our appetizer get set up to be picked up and there it sat for TWENTY MINUTES while our waiter walked past it SEVEN times. Unimpressed. I hope this new style pays off for you guys, because it's not working for me.

Went in the early afternoon on a sunday, there were a few people there, but it looks like they have a decent outside area for nicer days. Had corned beef sandwich and some spicy slaw. The food was decent, but what I would called moderately overpriced. 1-3 bucks more than you would find in other similar places for the same meal. I had a oatmeal stout and the GRB lager. They were nothing to write home about, but they were good beers.

Wow. Used to be one of my favorite places. This week went twice and they have a new chef who took everything I like off the menu. Then what he did keep he made worse and more expensive. Sent a burger back for being overcooked and they cooked the 2nd one even more. The margarita pizza was inedible. And when we let the chef know he did not care. From 4 stars to 0 in a span of 3 weeks!!

When I first moved to the Vail area I lived out of a hotel room. This place was dinner at least three times a week. The good news...I never got sick of it! The pizza's are awesome and the artichoke dip is great. I love the Great Sex Honey Ale and the White Water Wheat. Check them out on Friday afternoons during summer. They usually have live music on the back patio.

After having eaten in one of the fancier restaurants the night before, my wife and I were looking for something more casual and ended up at the Gore Range Brewery. Gore Range is definitely casual, with a lot of TVs (most tuned to sports), and a bright, wide open dining room. The beers we had (the Hefeweizen, the Pale Ale and the Red Ale) were all good to very good -- certainly no complaints there. The food, however, was fair at best. The wood oven pizza I ordered was, at best, ok -- the crust was soggy and the toppings were nothing special. My wife's BBQ chicken sandwich was average. The best part of the meal was probably the spinach/artichoke dip that we started with. The service was very friendly but also very slow -- though the restaurant wasn't that crowded, we wated a long time for everything, from the beer to the main courses. All in all, Gore Range is acceptable enough. But in an area with a lot of other restaurants, there are certainly better choices.

This used to be a brewpub with consistently good food and service. While the atmosphere is still really nice, the menu has recently changed. I went there for lunch and paid almost $10 for a salad with three pieces of Bibb lettuce, 1/4 oz of Brie, and a bite or two of pear. Come on, you guys....this is a BAR. My friend, who always has to take half of her lunch home, finished her tiny sandwich, and even tinier cup of slaw pretty quickly. Maybe the happy hour is still good, but I won't be back to find out.

The Gore Range was my home away from home for about three years - I had Mug #3. It's a moderately small place frequented mostly by Edward's locals or friends of. The food is decent bar food, the best being, in my opinion, the garlic roasted chicken. Jeremy the Brewer there really works hard on coming up with consistently good beers - and he's a good guy. My favorite is the Powder Day Pale of which I probably drank an entire tank myself...

Had a great lunch here and tasted some beers as well. We all got something different and shared. The chips and salsa are really good. The fish tacos were delicious and the beer............ah, it's a brewery. It looks like a locals hang-out and there are televisions blasting with sports on the channels. It may be an older place but sometimes they're in business because of the atmosphere and good food. I would highly recommend it for a fun dinner/lunch with friends.
