My husband and I found Freshies while vacationing in Avon. This is a great little market with all the organic and speciality items you could want. Upon walking in, it seems like they wouldn't have much, but just ask for what you are looking for and they will probably have it, and some additional surprise item suggestions as well. We found grass-fed flank steak there that was amazing, as well as organic, free-range chicken breast, organic kale, some really interesting/dainty looking mushrooms from Oregon, great protein bars that I had never heard of, organic orange-infused olive oil from Napa, the list goes on and on. The market is like a collection... The only downside is the prices. It is pretty pricey, but worth it if you can spare the $$.

I love local organic stores, this place looked sad. While I can go on and on with whats wrong with it I am only going to make 2 points 1) 90% of the items have no prices 2)owner( i guess) or sales person was trying to sell raw sauerkraut, saying that "its the most nutritious superfood out there" I will not return to this little store "sorry" ^_^ City Market in Avon has a wonderful "health section" and if I really need something i can always go to Natural Grocers, where I know the prices will be really affordable

I try to make a trip to Freshies when I visit Edwards. The daily soups they cook are amazing! They are made in small batches, 100% organic and hearty for cold winter days. Yesterday I tried the lentil nettle. Not too heavy on the lentil, and the nettle tasted like broccoli. The owner (and cook/baker) was able to make it taste delicious, explaining that nettle is great for the immune system. They have a small grocery section, tiny produce section and even minuscule "deli" with sandwiches and baked goods. Their baked goods are delicious - and often gluten-free / vegan and low in sugar. I think the soups, baked goods and grocery /produce are way overpriced, though. My soup was $7 and my 2 bite baked good was $2. Too bad, as this prevents me from shopping there as much as I would like.

I was soo happy to find this place. It had a lot of things I was looking for. The owner is a very cool guy. He will accommodate your needs with the meals he prepares. They even deliver too! Help support Colorado's only all Organic market/cafe.

It is a small store, so it lacks some of the product variety you might find at the larger stores. However, the service is great, and the owner has a real concern about health and doing what is right. Even to the point of calling to make sure his receipt paper is BPA free... I thought that was a nice touch.

Great produce, and one of the only places in the Valley that carries Kombucha.
