Stay clear of this dump. I am not going to spend a lot of time detailing my experience. This place has horrible food and the service even worse!!! Much worse!!! Rude and creepy staff highlight the "interesting" experience you will have at Volcano. Oh and don't think you will make things better by ordering the cocktails, they are awful too and too weak to try and confuse your taste buds with a buzz. YUK!!!!

Awesome!! Awesome!! Great fresh sushi, large portions of food! Our first time and won't be the last! Egg drop is a must.

It was delish! Everything was so good. The waiters were always there to help. There manager was extremely nice when I asked to go out for a smoke. I'd do there again and going to tell everyone about it. For what you get, and the service you receive. The price is right. Oh yeah one more thing. The place is spotless.

went in this past Saturday 2/8/13 for Hibachi. ONE WORD DELICIOUS. Our Hibachi chef was very good and meal was excellent. also had the California roll plenty of food you WILL need a to go box. steak was well seasoned as well as the chicken. Got the 49.99 deal and got steak chicken shrimp and some other seafood. HIGHLY recommended.

I've come here for the Chinese food several times, and it is always good food served with a smile. They have high quality tofu and all of their sauces taste exactly how they are described. Delicious. And as someone who values descriptions, Volcano Asian Cuisine delivers (the restaurant does not do delivery). The most recent meal I had there was their Hibachi. Albert our Hibachi chef was an utter delight and added a touch of conversation that made this transcend a normal Hibachi experience. His skills were honed, and he took genuine interest in our party of four. Rather than rushing to cook the food as quickly as possible, he delivered each step with a personalized flair. The next time I want dine-in Chinese food, I will dive into the Volcano, AND IT WILL ERUPT MY MIND!

I would go back for the Chinese side of it, but we think there are better places along Arapahoe Rd. to get sushi. The decor is odd. Kind of space aged 80s white plastic....anyhow. The crab wontons were sort of amazing. They weren't doughy like often times you get, and the filling was creamy but light and actually had a lot of crab inside. Egg drop soup/salad with ginger dressing were both as expected. Since sushi scares me, I ordered from the Chinese side. The kung pao chicken was pretty good. Something I would come back for if wanting Chinese. My husband had the sushi (three rolls; California, Alaska and Spicy Tuna). He said they tasted good, but we both thought they looked a little tired/dry.

Great fun for the family. The look in my granddaughter's eyes when the chef lit the volcano was priceless.

Great experience. The food was very tasty and the staff was super friendly. We went with a group of friends and ordered drinks while sitting around a hibachi grill and seeing our food deliciously simmering in front of us. I will definitely come back again!

The food is good but the service needs a reboot. We recently placed a delivery order just to be yelled at because I had to ask someone if they wanted white or brown rice. She continued on that 'you are not ready' and placed me on hold -- I mean really. She continue to scold me and say how busy there were. At this rate, they will not be busy for long. Super poor attitude.

Went on our anniversary, what a special night. Even small details such as a heart made of fried rice. Well worth the money spent, food was great

What shall I get for lunch on a Saturday. A few co-workers and myself wanted Asian food, one of them found Volcano Asian. I ordered a California Roll and a Tempura Sweet potato roll. I have forgotten what the others ordered. Not only did the food arrive quickly, it was very tasty. One of my co-workers says "this place gives HAPA a run for its money". I second that. Since that time, I have ordered again. Once again, the food was tasty and arrived quickly.

Spammy The Review Pig LOVES this place. Great food. Great service. Great show. There were 10 of us and the handled it great. You can eat in the restaurant or in the habachi room where the show (simalar to Benihana) is!

  • Karen D.

If you are going to spend the money go to Benihana's. The food here is subpar as is the service.

I go to Volcano periodically for lunch with some guys from work. We always eat at the Hibachi grill. The food is consistently good, and it's a decent value in my view...under fourteen bucks for soup or salad, and heaping portions of filet mignon, fried rice, and a grilled vegetable mix. I've never walked away hungry. It's a family-owned business, and the owner is always there greeting customers at the door. The staff is friendly and typically very attentive. I can't speak to the sushi or their standard Chinese fare, nor have I eaten dinner at Volcano...but I'll recommend the Hibachi here as a change of pace from the normal local lunch places.

I've gone to Volcano a couple times now. Always during the lunch hour which I would have thought was risky but so far VERY good! First the place is really cute inside - clean and crisp. Then there's the staff, they are always oh so friendly and helpful. They don't stalk your table nor are they non-existent and they even brought me a piece of cake on my bday. I've had the sushi and the moo shoo and it's all been really, really good. Fresh and tasty! I would love to go back to try hibachi and would recommending this spot if you work in DTC - you can get in and out in under an hour.

Hibachi 2 for $29 Sun, Mon, Tuesday. I have been passing by this place for awhile and saw this sign. What a deal! I have eaten here during lunch and it was OK so I figure, lets try it. It was around 5 PM. and there was one hibachi table full and owner was kinda hesitant seating us. He politely said to wait and we saw other couple leave and we ended up seating at the same table. There was 6 of other party and two of us. For $29 specials, we ordered shrimp and chicken (or steak) and came with soup, salads, rice, meat and vegi. Had several kinds of import draft beer and i was happy about it. For $5, my Kirin came in large Stella glasses. hmmm.. come to think of it, it kinda tasted like Stella. The soup arrived quickly. The waitress ordered everyone to remove the napkins off the plates. we are like..."what the.." she placed the soup in a manner that was like.. is she mad at us or what. .. type of attitude. Soup (clear broth) tasted pretty good. Salad came out after that. The disappointment started here. The salad bowl was 99 cents ones from either Walmart or Correl factory outlet clearance center. This is one of those 7" white bowl. It was chopped iceberg lettuce with hybrid of 1000 and french.. it actually tasted good. at this point, i notice the serving plate was melamine.. the cheap plastic kind you can buy from Walmart or Target. Come on people.. you don't have to be so cheap when everything else look so nice. has no sense of coordinating things together. oh.. forgot.. we ordered $13 super crab roll.. when we got it, both of us was like " this doesn't even come close to the picture we saw". it was OK.. not bad or good.. just OK.. after about 5 minutes, the hibachi chef arrived. he mumbled something and started the alcohol firework show. mediocre one. I thought Benihana show was bad but I will give them 5 star compare to this guy. they served two kinds of sauce like Benihana but on small saucer. The kind that we usually get the hot mustard or plum sauce when we order egg rolls at the chinese restaurant. he cooked udon on the table but had heat on too high and ended up using lots of butter and oil. as i m writing this, i felt like i had consumed stick of butter.. udon tasted OK but very greasy. it was very nice touch for him to use iceberg lettuce as side vegi for Udon. what the heck.. when the fried rice was done, it was served to our place using his spatula spilling everywhere. i felt like.. "are we pigs or what.. .just throw the food at us".. by the way, I have been to Benihana countless times and also the Gasho of Japan (long gone from DTC) so i at least, know that standard of these type of chop chop house (Teppanyaki). The shrimp was great but chicken was quite dry. the other party got the scallops but the chef chopped large pcs into small chunks and cooked it. hmmm.. The chef was totally bad, the food was mediocre, the wait person needs lots of training.. when the bill came, the $29 advertised meal was $54. Yikes.. i see the added cost for fried rice.. she did not mention of extra cost for fried rice. Oh well, I know Benihana always charges extra so nothing more to say on my part. we tipped the usual, said bye's to the owner (nice guy, hope he reads this stuff and make a good use out of it) and will not be returning near soon. summary: food 2 value for the money: 2 $29 deal saved this place from 1 star.

I keep giving this place *another* try because they're close to work and they deliver, but I think I'm just punishing myself if you really want to know the truth. The food is either greasy and salty or bland and soupy, depending on what you order. The vegetables are cut so large that you want to cut them in half so you don't choke on them. I mean really, if I wanted celery sticks I'd just cut them myself and bring them to work. Oh, wait! I did...for my afternoon snack! There's literally about 1/3 cup of brown, salty water in the bottom of my current to go container of Basil Vegetables with tofu added (3 pieces! Yay!). Perhaps they expect the rice to soak it all up. Perhaps it would, if I ate rice, but I don't. So, things like swimming celery sticks get noticed. One nice thing is that when I ask for no rice they don't tell me I can't have extra vegetables instead. Plus, they're really nice people...really great customer service to tell the truth. I just can't get past the mediocre Chinese food. To be fair though, I've never tried their sushi or Korean BBQ. Those just might be delicious. So perhaps they deserve 2.5 stars just for the benefit of the doubt.

Had a good time with the family in the hibachi room. Wait staff was prompt and friendly, chef was fun and did a good job with the meals. Sushi was a solid 4 as well. Place seemed clean. I would go back.

When you have to fight for teabags you should know it's time to pay the bill and go elsewhere! One teabag for tea service for 3 people?!?! Really? The Maguro was good, the rolls were fair. The Unagi was served covered in BBQ sauce. Which I found revolting. Overall, the ambiance suggest this may be a good place for Chinese food or Hibachi. There are far better places on Arapahoe Road for Sushi. The service was a bit surly, but given the poor guy was the only waiter for the whole restaurant during lunch rush, I can understand his demeanor. It did improve after he took our order. However this is not a restaurant I would return to for sushi, ever.

Ok so I did give this place a second try because I said I would and thats where my friend wanted to go. Her office likes it better than the other Chinees close by. First place during lunch hour the wait staff should realize time is important. I will admit it took us a few minutes to order but really. There was a table behind me of 10 and there were a few tables but it was by no means crowded. My friend finally got her meal. Oh but wait where is mine? I finally got my meal and my friends was cold. The owner came over to apologize. He admiited they should have done better. Yes they should have. The food was just ok. No spice in the hot and spicy soup nor in my basil chicken. I did take my food back to the office and who knows if I will eat it in the end. I will give my business to the other restaurant when I want that kind of food.

Volcano. It's a name that conjures images of power, heat, and Tommy Lee Jones. Sadly, none of these were at Volcano today... The decor is ...odd. It's an eclectic mix of sparkly 60's chairs, plain black walls with stainless steel accent panels, and interesting etched glass divider walls. Pink paper napkins, and no salt/pepper on the table. Given the choice between a sushi bar, hibachi, and standard fare, my party opted for the latter, so I can't speak for the first two. I can, however, say that there was a group eating hibachi, and we would periodically hear "ooh"s and "ahh"s from the other room, so maybe the teppanyaki is good there. Or maybe they'd never seen an onion volcano before. Either way, we didn't care. We were too busy fighting off the flies. I ordered the Thai peanut chicken (lunch menu), and less than 45 minutes later, it arrived. It was, of course, cold, and my coworker's Thai basil chicken was boiling-lava hot. At order time, I was excited about peanuts and the "spicy" icon next to my dish. However, the crushed peanuts I was hoping for must have ran away with the chilies, because both were absent. On the plus side, the plates there are neat squares with square compartments for the sides. My sides included a cold, fried California roll covered in icing or spooge or something, and two wedges of watermelon (WTF?). Oh, and there was a ninja at the table next to me. One star for the ninja. No stars for the long wait, badly-timed delivery, lack of spice, cold dish, abundance of airborne vermin, and manchowder topping.

Sushi to go. Really never a good idea when ordering from a place the first time, sight unseen. Below average, the rolls were poorly packed and not the freshest. With sushi, go with the masses. Sushi den, sushi Sasha, etc.

Came here from some take out food. After I ordered my sushi and chicken terryaki I sat down and waited. First of all, the OUTSIDE of the building ( a little plain) is not an indication of the INSIDE of the building, which is tastefully done, and quite nice. I listened to a young couple walk in,... with the girlfriend saying to the boyfriend .. "this is a REALLY nice inside". A professionally team of employees... they have a dining section, a bar section, and a hibachi section. There was a rather large party in the hibachi section seeming to have a great time. It was a Saturday evening, around 7 and the place had a steady stream of customers. There was a singer getting ready to sing, and so.. there is live entertainment. My food was great, I ate my sushi and stuck my chicken in the fridge because I filled up so easily. The next evening I popped my chicken in the microwave... (thanks for keeping the sauce separate) and enjoyed that meal as well. I definitely want to come back for some hibachi as it seems like an experience!

If you really like sashimi, this place gives a VERY generous thick slice per sashimi. Sushi rolls are good like any other sushi place, and they have options to choose from. I'm not big on ordering fried rice at restaurants because I'm Asian, I cook my own and it's delicious. But we ordered the chicken fried rice for my little niece and I stole a bite (or two). Must say, it was really good! Not greasy, great flavor. For you whiteys, take a few bites of it first before you ruin...I mean, soak it in soy sauce. You're welcome.

The Good: We splurged for a family Hibachi meal. We had a ton of fun and although the food was on the oily side and had a ton of salt (welcome to dining out, USA) it was very satisfying. The ~$21 two meat combos were actually a fairly good deal. Calamari, shrimp and NY Steak (looked like Sirloin to my eye) were all presented very well. Tons of al dente vegetables to share- asparagus, red bells, mushrooms and zucchini. The hibachi fried rice is a good add on although they don't explain how much extra it costs ($2/serving). Garlic and white pepper are dominant. The Neutral: The food comes out as its ready. The Hibachi chef doesn't attempt to time it so it's all done at once. I have no problem with this but others might. I like doing something right and then enjoying it. The miso (?) soup is very peppery and plain. Probably vegetable stock based pumped up with white pepper and salt. It may not have miso in it. Mushrooms and scallions float. The Bad: Our Hibachi chef was fantastic (his name starts with H). Engaging, funny, good showmanship. However, the server that helps him was almost surly. The only time she spent energy on us was to try and upsell us to maximize our ticket. We have 3 kids that eat very little.. we didn't want a bunch of leftovers.. but she was trying to get them to all have full meals. She was insistent on selling the extra price rice.. she was pushy to refill drinks but wouldn't bring us water or refill our waters once we had them. I hadn't been to a Hibachi since I was a pup so it was a nice treat for us and the kids. Very fun. Food better than I suspected it would be. Lots of fire! Can't speak to any of the other dining choices but the restaurant was slow in all other areas on a Saturday night so I'd be hesitant to order perishable raw fish but that's not exactly fair. It may be great.

Tried it for the first time tonight and it was terrible. I had delivery which was pretty fast, but the food was terrible and way over priced. I ordered sushi and royal cashew chicken. The sushi was alright but the royal cashew chicken was almost all vegetables and brown sauce and no chicken.

My co-workers and I went to Volcano for lunch a couple of weeks ago, and it was fantastic. There were a few snafus with the service, but it was very friendly. The decor was interesting - it felt kind of Mad Men-ish to me. It made me want a cocktail, and I rarely drink. We had the gyoza for an appetizer, which was absolutely delicious, but it arrived after our entree. My friend had the chicken hibachi which smelled and looked seriously drool-worthy, and my other friend and I had the sushi plates. The "Chef's Choice" was seared tuna on my plate, and I'm still fantasizing about that tuna. The rest of the sushi plate was also super tasty, but that seared tuna - well, let's just say I might cry if the chef makes a different choice next time. And there will be a next time - hopefully soon.

This location looks a bit odd from the outside - i think it was an old applebees or something. But pretty good sushi. Its not a bad price either for what you get. The chicken fried rice was really good too- real simple and delicious but not greasy like some restaurants. The decor is a bit strange, but the service is great. It makes for a great date night place or good lunch place with coworkers. I would say this is a good alternative to the other pricey and busy sushi hot spots on the weekend. Will be back for sure! I also heard about a lunch special - might have to visit this week.

I cant speak of why some have rated this place a two or lower, seeing this amazed me. I like the atmosphere because it was fun and not typical of your usual Asian fare. I ordered, like a previous yelper, the Thai peanut chicken. Delicious, came in less than ten minutes, no wait at all. The waiter, and the rest of the staff were very friendly, and welcoming. I came during lunch so, either they don't serve hibachi at that time of day, or no one was interested. I would recommend this place for a cheap lunch or a great place to get together for dinner.

My husband and I have been coming to the Volcano since it opened. After a few "shaky" moments the first couple of weeks, the restaurant has "erupted" into our favorite place to go. Bata, the Sushi Chef remembers what I like and always encourages me to experiment with something new each time I go. The staff always remembers that my husband who doesn't eat much sushi, has his special favorites and the make sure he has a non ending supply of the hot chili pepper oil he likes. Fresh Fish, Personalized Service, we highly recommend you give Volcano a try for Sushi, Pan Asian food or Hibachi service. On select Saturday nights, Linda, the jazz singer performs. What a beautiful voice and what a sweet person . For a date night you can't go wrong. Wonderful food , service AND entertainment all at a great price.

Sushi for lunch always makes me happy, and Volcano has not yet managed to disappoint me. I had their Fuji roll for lunch, and it was SCRUMPTIOUS as usual. This made me very happy.

I have eaten at Volcano on several different occasions and each time the service was very quick and attentive. I have sat at the tables and at the sushi bar. I have always found the tables and the sushi bar to be very clean. The food is amazing. The fish is always fresh. I also like the fact that I can ask the sushi chef to make his specialty and he comes up with amazing combinations that actually are great together. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone that likes sushi. At this time, I have not tried anything else in the restaurant, but will in the future.

Been there once to have Sushi and it just like mama said.....you never know what you're gonna get. I will never return. Why, why, why do I always want to try new Sushi places?! Thank goodness Wasabi opened up down the road. For Centennial, Wasabi is the best.

The restaurant itself was filthy. We had never been there before. And asked to be seated at the sushi bar. The bar was filthy with dust. The sushi mediocre at best. The waiter was awful. The sushi chef was very nice. But bad product to work with. Will never go back.

The building is deceiving and we were hesitant to give the restaurant a try based on the lack of curb appeal. Nonetheless, we were feeling like something different and decided to venture in. Luckily, the inside was nice - clean lines, somewhat slick looking and visually appealing. My husband and 2 kids (ages 14 and 10) chose the Hibachi option (the kids always enjoy a good show). The Hibachi chef was entertaining and the food was flavored well. We also had sushi and it was yummy. Next time we are going for sushi. I have a feeling Volcano will be a family favorite going forward. Give this place a try --- it exceeded our expectations!

So this is the second time I came to this place, I tried this place with couple my friends during Sunday. The first time is nice, the spicy fish is nice. I came back on Thursday to try some the other dishes. I wish I never came thus I could preserve the good memory of the first time. I feel like we were left out in the corner. We ordered seafood spicy and sour soup, sour taste cabbage, which is totally disaster and the reason why I give it two star. The seafood soup is really pricy, considerate what we got! Let's say that the seafood has a funny flavor, I feel like it was preserved in some kind of chemical, even with the strong flavor of the vinegar and pepper, moreover, they put way too much sasemi oil in the soup, still could not cover the wired flavor of the chemical, they also used canned mushroom for the soup. I feel like that some of the house soup I've tried is better than this one! And you charge 10 bucks for this?! I wish I could get my money back on that but since we already had some, I didn't ask... The worst part is the waitor said he understand what I said, and if you know it's not good why do you even bring it out at the first place?! Moving on to the sour taste cabbage . I feel sad for the cabbrage... Their is no way it called sour cabbage in any place, it's not sour at all! As I recall this dish should use black vinegar complement with red paper and end with a little bit corn sterch to thicken it up. well, what i got is like cabbage boiled in sweet water with a drop of white vinegar, it's watery and taste bad. Their spicy fish is good, and the fried pork shreds is okay. Other than that, stay away from their chinese food... 2 for $50 and I barely touched the cabbage, REAL DISAPPOINTMENT!

Went there for the first time the other day. I have nothing to complain about. Place looked very nice and clean. I had sashimi and sushi. I was pretty satisfied, the prices aren't too bad, and the waitress was very friendly and helpful. As far as the taste goes, be advised - I'm not much of a sushi expert, so take this all with a grain of salt.

Ordered a few rolls and sashimi. Had to throw the sashimi away after the first bite. And threw the rolls away because of the quality of fish. We were actually concerned it would make us sick.

I was a bit wary when we drove up as the building looks like an old McDonald's or something (turns out it was an Applebee's). The minute we walked in I was like, WOW! It is GREAT inside. We were escorted to our hibachi grill and had the Volcano drink for 2. It was cool and very tasty. We skipped appetizers, but got plenty of food with our hibachi specials. I saw the sushi on other tables and it looked good too. Our hibachi food was amazing. The fried rice was likely the best I have ever had (I liked that they give you an option to get it spicy- it was so good!). I had the mahi-mahi and steak. My fiance had the scallops and chicken. Both came with soup and salad (salad was kinda weak, but we didn't go there for salad). The soup was tasty as well. I don't eat a lot of fish and I couldn't get enough of the mahi mahi. The hibachi veggies were extraordinary and crisp- giant asparagus was so tender. The only reason I didn't give it all 5 stars is because they have a TV over the grill and the family next to us was blasting "Dance Moms" on the TV and it was really annoying. Also, I would have liked to see the chef be more entertaining as that is what one expects from a hibachi grill. The food and atmosphere (minus the Dance Moms) was a 5 for me!!

I went here with my wife and two kids for Valentines. The place was very busy but they seated us on time in the hibachi section (as requested). We ordered two rolls - the super spider and the another one one I can't remember the name but it had tuna. My whole family liked both rolls especially the super spider. The hibachi cook came out and prepared our dishes which included fried rice, veggies, shrimp and steak. He was very young and his technique was a bit sloppy as he dropped a noodle in my son's soda and steak in a lady's water. Also he started cleaning the grill before everyone was finished eating their main courses which was annoying and my wife said he got some cleaning water on the food of the people sitting next to us. Overall though we found the staff friendly, a little slow (but they were slammed) and the food was tasty. Our kids really liked it. We would probably go back especially if we had a groupon or something.

There's a reason I usually don't like places that "specialize" in multiple types of foods such as Hibachi, Sushi, and say Chinese as Volcano does. It's usually because they don't specialize in anything, they just make mediocre food in each of their "specialties." Unfortunately, Volcano didn't change my opinion in this regard. Decor is a bit different. Dark panels are brightened up with the occasional silver panel on the walls of the main, non-hibachi dining area. The silver panels look like the venting material connected to my furnace, but it doesn't detract from the dining experience. The chairs are very soft, perhaps the softest chairs I've ever sat on while dining, or maybe my butt's just getting that big. I was feeling a hankering for Singapore Noodles today for lunch, so I went ahead and ordered them. I was asked for my choice of rice. I get rice with my noodles? That's a first. You also get a choice of a couple soups. Onto the egg drop soup, the "broth" was very gelatinous - much more so than any I've had before, but the flavor was very good. Unfortunately, I didn't care much for the "texture" of the broth which made it appear almost slimey. The noodles were brought out with a scoop of steamed rice, a hash brown with a couple sauces, and a piece of watermelon. I'm already considering the carb-loading I'm doing here with rice along with my noodles, but to throw in a hash brown as well? There were two sauces for the hash brown, but the wasabi sauce was excellent. The Singapore Noodles, a dish I often order had a bit too much curry taste for my tastes, but it was solid nonetheless and chock full of meats. Service here is good and speedy and the value you get for what you pay here is excellent.

horrible representation for 5280. I would not recommend sushi. the service was bad they did not even know what was on the menu. They couldnt tell us what kind of sushi we had, you had no choice they just brought out a big serving. best part of the meal was the fortune cookie!!!! very disappointed

This place is beautiful, you will love it here! The Sushi is amazing, the Chinese Cuisine is the best in all of DTC, and the Hibachi is so much fun! A billion times better than Mt Fuji :)

I went twice; once for sushi and the other time for Chinese. I like the decor and how big there sushi bar was. Some of the items on the menu were unique, but it was still that traditional American Chinese food. I did not feel that 'fusion' was there. I read a couple of reviews for this restaurant before, I thought I would go in for happy hour and I felt that was lacking as well.

Meh....the scariest thing was the hibachi table that we were sat at was dirty. They had a bus boy come out and cleaned it while we were sitting there and it was not any better. They asked if we would like to move to a different table and as we were seated at another table they proceeded to tell us that the other one was not dirty. Things got progressively worse from there. Unfortunately, I should know better than to go to a place that can't focus their menu on one thing. A chinese/japanese mix is not a good idea. Wished I could give it ZERO stars.

very good and they hook a yelper up! the owner was very excited to hear i was from yelp and this was after i ate and handed over my phone to show i got a discount for checking in. the service was friendly and helpful and they even gave me a extra roll because i wasn't so big on the one they suggested. after words the owner took me on a tour of the restaurant which was clean in the guest and kitchen area as well as explained some ideas for his habachi room!

My wife and love thus place. We eat here at least twice a month. The sushi is good and their American-Chinese cuisine is very good. It is privately owned and operated so it feels nice to support a local business.

I NEVER write reviews, but this place honestly deserves one, and absolutely not in a good way. Please read this before considering going there, even though I know it's going to be long. If I could give negative stars, I would. It was my mistake to take my cousins here for a goodbye dinner instead of to Benihana's, a mere 15 longer minute drive than this place. They're younger, so I thought they'd enjoy hibachi, so I decided to do that. We were seated, and later served, basically in my taste, water with a little bit of soy sauce and a couple thin slices of floating mushrooms as "soup" and then a few bits of iceberg lettuce with one small cucumber slice and one tomato slice with way too much dressing. Although I wasn't happy, I was alright up until this point. It was 40 minutes since we had been there, and we didn't have a chef. At that point, I just assumed that the chef at the table right next to us was the only one working. My poor little cousins were starving, so I went ahead and ordered them a roll. The damn roll took 20 minutes to come out (in perspective, there were two people at the sushi bar, and maybe 4 or 5 people in the dining room.) Then, a young couple came and were seated at the hibachi table with us about an hour into our wait. They were immediately served soup and salad, then they ordered a roll, which came out, if even, five minutes later. I was rather furious at this point. Finally, an hour and ten, maybe about 20 later, the chef came along. The chef was very nice and put on a decent show, but the kids were too hungry and annoyed with waiting to even really enjoy it. Also, he used the same utensils on raw chicken as he did the vegetables he served us with, without sanitizing them. As someone who worked in the food industry, it clearly contaminates the vegetables he served. I complained to the manager at the front, who SAW us get seated without being told there was one chef. For the record, they have 4 hibachi tables and one chef. Does this make any sense? No. Also, the manager didn't seem to give a damn. So all in all, never coming here again and I advise you not to either.

This place has been around for a while now and it's just down the street from where my parents live in Denver so when I finally got the opportunity to go I jumped on it. I was blown away when I walked into the restaurant..It is beautifully decorated with a sushi bar and a separate room for hibachi. My boyfriend and I decided to sit in the hibachi area but we also ordered some sushi. We got the phili roll and the spicy tuna roll which were both amazing. As far as the hibachi, this place is AMAZING. The meat was so succulent and flavorful and the veggies were cooked to perfection. I also loved our waiter who was extremely attentive as well as our hibachi chef who gave us shots of saki and made us feel really comfortable and welcome..as a matter of fact the sushi chef even came out to ask us if we liked our sushi. All in all an amazing experience and reasonably priced.. I would suggest this place to anyone.

Went for lunch and had Singapore curry noodles. I lived in Malaysia and Singapore for 5 yrs and ate curry noodles there these were very good and less than 10 bucks. My friends had bento boxes which were very good. Definitely going back

Ugh - bones in the sushi, a piece of plastic in the entree. And I find it a bit expensive for bones and plastic. I would not recommend.

Service was excellent but they sat us by an area that was under construction. The sushi rice tasted a little funky to me. Their miso soup was delicious and the hibachi shrimp with fried rice was pretty good. The server was attentive and speedy. Wasn't too impressed, so I probably won't be going back.

Ordered to go Sushi Maki, they put Hand Rolls in the bag which admittedly the person who picked it up didn't check. I called and asked them to fix the mistake then spent the next hour on the phone with them being told they don't care, its not their problem. Finally went to the restaurant to get a refund and spent the next 30 minutes being insulted by the manager and staff as a scumbag and having them attack me in front of the other customers in the restaurant for trying to "scam a small business". Finally got my refund and left. Now the day after they are harassing me at work and my other co-workers who ordered from them as well. Stay as far away from this place as possible.

Nice hibachi restaurant and they have delicious food! Our hibachi chef had a great sense of humor and was very entertaining; I would've given 5 stars if it's for the chef and food alone but unfortunately, our waitress who was an older Asian lady was just plain rude; we also had to ask her for the basic things like straws & chopsticks -- you could just tell she hates her job, she surely did ruined the experience for us.

Driven by this place hundreds of times and thought about checking it out many times. Seems like it's been there for years. From the outside it looks pretty run down, especially the rough parking lot and sparse landscaping (and the fake Christmas-y palm tree out front). But inside it's pretty nice and more spacious than it seems outside. There's a large sushi bar in the middle -- seemed kind of empty. Service was efficient and timely, but not very friendly. The Hong Kong fried noodles were tasty and a decent amount of food. Prices seem a bit higher than usual. Wasn't busy at all, but there seemed to be plenty of staff. The menu has lots of items -- hundreds -- half is appetizers, soups & salads, and various Chinese dishes, then the other half is sushi rolls, etc. They have happy hour also but didn't seem to be too many deals. And of course also alcoholic drinks.

Took my daughters for their first Hibachi, on a thirteenth birthday. These guys have been trying so hard to get their restaurant on the map. We had a blast, the staff was great, could not hope to finish the food and laughed like we haven't in a very long time. When engaging people with a smile and laughter you realize how important it is for them to give you a good time. Thank you for a perfect evening guys.

Used Open Table to book tonight for my sons Bday dinner tonight. They were a accommodating for our big party & we had a great time!!! The Hibachi cook - spanish cook was really good!! The hostess was wonderful to put our cake in freezer & bring out to sing. We had a great birthday dinner & will go back more often! But VERY expensive so knocked down to 3 stars. 1x or 2x a year spot for hibachi food

Because of the wait and lack of communication on the delay Volcano did hook me up with some free food. It was too bad I already went out to Pho Lee and got some quick pho before they were able to deliver it to me. The food was pretty solid even the next day. Generally I don't like left over sushi, but it was good. I bet it would've been fire if I had it the night before. I'll order from here again, but in the comfort of their restaurant where I hope the wait will not be a factor. 3 stars for the attempt to make-up for the lack of informing me how long I'd have to wait for delivery. 5 stars for the food; 1 star for the delivery service; Avg= 3 stars.

It will salsify that Chinese food craving, but is it the best Chinese food I've ever had? No. Got sweet and sour chicken - chicken was great but didn't actually taste great with the sweet sauce, sweet sauce and chicken independently were great, but together, smeh. It's the only Chinese place I've found that delivers to dove valley so I will be a repeat order, but it's definitely not the best I've had. Delivery was fast, almost too fast, over 20mins earlier than anticipated. Fried rice is basically white rice with egg. Crab Rangoon is very good. My fortune sucked.

Do not eat here. Their limited coupons with multiple restrictions are not accepted outside of the restricted times. Empty restaurant seating couple after couple while staff calls the owner that we know to verify the coupon. Owner does not answer because he is at an event sponsered by the people giving out the coupons. we have had multiple parties here and dined there often. No longer will go here.

I don't understand why Volcano only has 3 stars on Yelp. As a Chinese, I've been to every Chinese restaurant in Denver/Aurora/DTC/Lone Tree/Parker/Highlands Ranch (a total of 20+ restaurants) and Volcano is one of the top 2. Very authentic and tasty foods, they remind me of my mom and her foods. One of the owners (a very nice lady) came by and chatted briefly with us which made us feel very welcomed. I recommended Volcano to several friends and now they go there more often than I do!

This will be my first and last at this place. We went for the Hibachi grill, I found it to be pretty pathetic! The chef barely spoke any English, he accidently served me fried rice, so he didn't had enough for the last person in the table. Even though it was his mistake, as a retalliation he skipped me while giving the vegetables, and circled back to me at the end and said he is out of vegetable. What a great customer service!!! Your employees retalliate with customer over stupid fried rice!!!

This was our second visit for dinner on a Friday night using a $30 Google Offers coupon. I was very pleased with the presentation and taste of the sushi this time. We ordered 4 rolls that came on an oval platter with just ginger and no wasabi. The server told us what everything was. We didn't notice that the wasabi was missing until the server walked away. Volcano Roll ($10.95): 8 pieces of spicy tuna and avocado topped with seared tuna, butter and garlic ponzu. There were scallions and a few sesame seeds sprinkled on top. The roll was sitting on a banana leaf and the sushi chef made the roll s-shaped which was really attractive. Alaska Roll ($6.95): 8 pieces of salmon, avocado, and cucumber with sesame seeds on the outside. There was a generous amount of salmon in the roll. River Maki ($6.95): 8 pieces of eel, avocado, and egg with tobiko on the outside. The roll was lightly drizzled with eel sauce. I wasn't sure if I wouls like the egg in the sushi, but this turned out to be one of my favorite rolls tonight. Shrimp Tempura Roll ($6.95): 5 pieces of shrimp tempura with the seaweed on the outside. The shrimp tempura was crisp and did not have the tails on like most places. I liked the way the lettuce was sticking out. There was also cucumber and tobiko inside. We both enjoyed this roll. My husband can't eat sushi without wasabi, so he waited to eat until he flagged down a server for some wasabi. The servers were standing around in the front near the cash register and the 2 sushi chefs were standing around too. It took a while for a server (not ours) to walk by. Our server asked if we wanted to order anything else and brought us a refill on water, but we did not see her while we were eating. The server added an 18% gratuity to the total bill for using the Google Offers coupon. Last time we used the Google Offers coupon, the server did not add an 18% gratuity. Google Offers does not state anything about an 18% gratuity on the coupon. I know that if you use a Double Take Deals coupon, it clearly states that an 18% gratuity will be added to the pre-discounted total. I didn't argue with the server about the 18%. I just paid the 18% rather than giving her a larger tip.

We had an amazing time and delicious Hibachi dinner today at Volcano restaurant. We ordered the combination for 2 (steak and lobster). Steak was so tender and flavorful. The personnel was so polite and welcoming. Our chef was the best. Kids loved chef's tricks on the grill with the fire and onion pyramid. We recommend this place to everyone and would love to come back soon. Thank you

I was looking for a special night to host a birthday party for my fiance. I thought Hibachi would be fun and didn't want to go to a chain place so I was looking for a more local family owned restaurant we do love to support the local people and it was a special night and we thought Hibachi would be a great way to have a birthday party. We're pleased to know that there is also a sushi bar to sit down while we got drinks before our main dinner, where we had the pleasure of meeting the owner I believe his name is Jay, what a nice man he made us feel like family. It's obvious that he is a very dedicated restaurant owner as he was over to personally ensure the quality of food and service with every Table we had noticed, and he made us very comfortable the sushi was fresh and delicious. We will definitely be returning if not for a special event but just to go in and have sushi and hopefully meet with the owner again. I do recommend this place to anybody looking for a great experience try Volcano..... go go go!!!!!!

We decided to try volcano after receiving a menu in the mail. It was nice that they delivered. We ordered BBQ spare ribs that was way over priced! There were 3 pieces of fatty over-cooked ribs for $8.95. They were so dry that it was so hard to chew. We also ordered General Taos chicken that was soggy by the time it was delivered to us which I understand that will happen with a delivery order. But the flavor was too sour and it was all the deep fried matter with little chicken. We also ordered the moo shu chicken which was good. It had lots of veges and chicken that satisfied our taste buds. The order came with a free crab rangoon that tasted very fishy and the cream cheese filling tasted like goat cheese. I am not a fan of goat cheese and I'm used to other Chinese restaurants that use actual cream cheese. Glad It was a free order. The only thing that was good was the moo shu chicken. It was a waste of $40 on subpar food. I'm hesitant in trying them again after this experience.

I've eaten here a few times now with my girlfriend and the sushi is great! We haven't had the hibachi yet but definitely plan on trying it. Sushi rolls have great wrap and great flavor. Service is always very professional and courteous as well. My only qualm is that I've ordered sushi takeout twice and the attention to detail is not as good as dining in, which can be expected as I'm sure the chef gets backed up balancing in house and take out orders. I highly recommend this place if you like sushi. Try the spiderman roll.

My girlfriend and I decided to get delivery from here tonight and were incredibly disappointed with it. We ordered: Garlic wings - No flavor, seemed like they just deep fried unseasoned wings and called it a day. Hot and sour soup - Typical hot and sour soup, nothing wrong with it. Eggdrop soup - No flavor. Basil fish fillet with a side of fried rice - This was good but they forgot the fried rice. Beef chow mein - Their definition of chow mein is way off from everyone else's. They decided it doesn't have noodles and instead is just meat on steamed veggies. And unfortunately their meat on steamed veggie plate was also tasteless with very little meat. We decided to call them up and ask them about the rice and chow mein. The woman that answered first said that she personally put the rice in the bag and didn't believe me that it wasn't there. She then told me that chow mein doesn't have noodles in it and this is how they do it. If they don't know that chow mein has mein in it then I do not want to try anything else off their menu. Now in their defense, she did then offer to deliver their lo mein (that does have mein in it) along with our missing fried rice. The lo mein was decent and what I would expect lo mein to be..

This restaurant has amazing, positive reviews, so my wife and I decided to try it for lunch today, 12/26/2013. We'd checked the website before leaving to verify directions and should've paid attention to the site to indicate what was to come: the website is cheap looking, with dim or dark photos and won't work on mobile devices. Guess alot of people don't care, right? Now, this is the day after Christmas for anyone unaware or suffering from severe head trauma, so the place was dead. Two cars in the parking lot and no one in the restaurant when we entered. My wife had to use the rest room after we were seated. She came back and told me that it smelled like ten women had thrown up or had rectal surgery at the same time in there, that it was filthy and putrid. I apologized and suggested we try ordering. Anyway, we wanted to order. And we wanted to order. The waiter wandered around wiping tables, going into the back for a cigarette, monitoring his cell phone for messages, checking food inventory. Finally, after about 20 minutes my wife stood up half-way out of the booth and made direct eye contact and said loudly to him "we're ready to order if that's okay." The waiter, seeming confused by this, stumbled over with a note pad in hand. About another 15-20 minutes or so later our meals arrived. I noticed the plates were like pet food trays, with little compartments to keep pellets separate from water. Maybe they were recycled hospital or cafeteria trays; but they didn't look like trays found in most restaurants. Oh, well. Maybe the food will be good. I ordered two side orders or appetizers. One never arrived at all and the other one, the dumplings, were very bland and small for the money. The sauce was like brown water. My wife said her food tasted like Purina cat chow and that she could easily have bought the same things at Whole Foods and microwaved them herself. The eggrolls looked like tiny baby fingers. Well, at this point, after inhaling the small appetizer portions and the side order the waiter forgot to bring (but later charged us for), I needed to use the mensroom, often a veritable House of Horrors in most restaurants. This one was no exception: there was some bizarre fuzzy green life form in both the mens urinals, soapy residue and streaks on the mirror (so much so that you couldn't check yourself if you'd wanted to) and sticky substances on the floor that reeked of horse stables. How appetizing! The toilet paper rolls were in some kind of odd elevated plastic container you had to stand to reach. Ad signs were in place, but broken off and with etched images of mens male members on one of them. How classy! The sink wouldn't turn off completely, and I didn't feel like going for a wrench. After going to the mens room, I have to admit, I felt like throwing up. Wish I'd never seen the fuzzy glowing green alien life form in the urinals or smelled the burning, ancient sticky glue substance on the floors. No one was in the hibachi section, so it was closed off. They had a paper with Japanese food on it separately, and yes, the first item listed was called "Heart Attack," no joke! Being an Asian restaurant , they thought it a brilliant idea to play top 40 tunes on their piped in radio system. So much for ambiance. After we reconciled the no-side-order-but-you-still-are-charging-for-it issue with our deaf, dumb, blind, mute, and lost waiter, we decided to depart. By the register I noticed wet Asian newspapers and menus (another classy touch) on a corner rack, and the angry Asian man behind the register never bothered to look up or make eye contact. Maybe he was ashamed of the slovenly service, disgusting mens room that smelled like a horse stable, the confused waiter, tacky decor, or bland, tasteless food; or maybe he just didn't care about much of anything (probably more likely in the DTC). Suffice it to say, this place could garner ten thousand raving reviews, but we'd never go back here unless it was the final resting stop on a nuked-out wasteland planet; and even then it would be with a handful of Tums in our pockets and a longing for something more satisfying.

Great place for dinner and it has potential with a variety of food offered. Hibachi, Sushi, and Chinese (authentic chinese menu items). I think if they focus on one area of food they can succeed. They have music nights and also offer a 10% discount for military and first responders.

The crispy orange chicken used to be our favorite dish right up until the last time we ordered. It used to be crispy. What arrived last time was nearly unrecognizable a the same dish. The coating was soggy and had a fuzzy consistency and the chicken was rubbery. We lodged a complaint with EAT24 because our first impression was we had been sent leftovers. They had the restaurant send out another order. It arrived and the delivery guy explained it was not old chicken, just a new recipe. Perhaps. Regardless, the new batch was as inedible as the first and both wound up in the garbage. I don't imagine we will order from Volcano again.

Restaurant owner kept coming by my table trying to promote her restaurant. I wanted to spend quality time with my friends but she kept interrupting us. She stated that we could include edamame in our groupon that we used but then later refused to honor it. She said to my friends, in Chinese, "it's not like you can't afford it." Rather rude

Err, what I can say or how can I put this in a review. Was here on Wednesday Oct 20th 2010 after running some errands with my friend. The restaurant has plenty of seating. You are welcome to seat at the Sushi Bar and they also offer Hibachi. I was there for Sushi and it was for a late lunch. Time : 1430hrs. This is like a snack tea time with Sushi for me. From their menu, they also offer some Chinese cuisine / dishes but since we are not interested on that, if these were what I can recall properly of what we ordered : Nigiris of : * Unagi * Uni * Kaibashira * Tamago * Amaebi * Inari and Spicy Tuna Rolls. I am NOT WOW with the Sushi we ordered. Its more like a MEH for me. Perhaps we were there on their "OFF-DAY". If only they can have quality sushi, as compared to the DECOR VOLCANO Spulrge into. Oh well. Perhaps this restaurant is new in the neighborhood and since I am not familiar with this part of the neighborhood, I wish them well and may they prosper many years to come. We end our late lunch with Mango and Green Tea Mochi. I am so sad, that the taste of the Mango Mochi was such a disappointment. The dough was too chewy and the ice cream melt so much, to my taste bud it seems that they might "nuke" my Mochi order. Perhaps they might differ in their Hibachi and Chinese cuisine flare. :(

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
