When I think of American style buffets, I think of the geriatric club meeting here to recruit new members, kids putting their hands in the food without using the utensils, and a grimy feel in the restaurant. That being said, I am going to review Golden Corral for what it is - a buffet. I am sure you can think of several buffets (Chinese, Indian, FURS CAFETERIA) amongst others. As well I don't eat at buffets often, however; I must say, Golden Corral does a pretty damn good job! Especially this one, we were greeted with a smile, our server Tremaine was THE MAN. He was on point, our drinks were never below half full and you could tell he strives for excellent customer experience. All of our food was fresh (the Cajun fish was a little too fresh, as a matter of fact it needed to be cooked a little longer) other than that, the fresh sliders, the baked chicken, the fresh salad bar, the desert bar, all brought variety to the experience. I really don't have one complaint at all. I can honestly say, if I feel like going "buffet style" with some American flare, I would go back here in a heart beat. Oh yeah, and most of all it was CLEAN! Good job!

I love all buffets. This one is right beside our house. It was the busiest and the dirtiest we had seen it but the food was good. Will be back soon!

Came here for the Veterans Day meal and it was hectic, yet the staff was very organized. Tables were limited so they seated you with others, which was okay. The food was always stocked up and fresh. Props to the staff that worked that night and thank you.

Food was ok. I have eaten better from other golden corral. Layout was good. Service was excelent. Mens bathroom stunk.

I can't say if their food is better or worse than Country Buffet overall, each place has got its great and not so great items. For Golden Corral, the fried chicken definitely impress! The soups, meh. The breads are a mix - cornbreads much better than biscuits. We keep going back for the BBQ ribs and spicy beer brats. Ice creams hit the spot: there are soft serve and scoops! My favorite of their desserts is the banana pudding. The service on the other hand, is out of this world! Everybody puts on a smiley face, to greet you, to seat you, to pour you water, to take your plates, to clean up. The atmosphere is so welcoming I almost didn't want to leave!

I have not been to a Golden Corral for about 20 years. The Golden Corral I remember resembled a Ryans or Ponderosa Steak House/ Buffet. I did not go to this restaurant of my own free will, rather at the constant begging from my children. Nor did I go here to do a review of any sort, as my experiences with buffet styled restaurants were traditionally a 2-3 star experience at a very generous best. Four stars, unthinkable. When you are speaking of a buffet through the eyes of a critic who has held tables at some of the worlds most notable establishments, it is difficult to evaluate a place not for what you think the perfect restaurant is, or what the perfect menu contains, or even how pretentious the service is, but to critique it based on what the restaurant itself advertises themselves to be, and if they live up to those expectations (for the amazingly low price point comparatively). So many things are to be taken into consideration where buffets are concerned that it can be an insurmountable task for an owner to earn a proper four stars(Food quality, freshness, rotation, selection, service, staff, cleanliness). I personally was almost so prejudiced against buffets that I found myself wanting to press the three star button for this review.... The food alone might honestly deserve somewhere around a two or three. However, the entire reason I am writing this review in the first place is because I was surprisingly shocked and pleased by my families experience today, Memorial Sunday, a typically crowded day when I had low expectations walking into a restaurant that initially made me feel like I was in a carnival line. But to be honest, the line was about the only thing I have negative to say about my families experience. Let me start with the service, as it was particularly notable. We were greeted by a very personable gentleman by the name of Harlan. Harlan informed us that he would be assisting us today and if we needed anything just call on him. Now I wont go into particulars, but this young man hustled harder in that section to serve his customers than about 99% of the thousand or so servers I have met. And get this, they don't take tips ...... WHAT, this guy was doing all this work and wasn't getting tips. He seriously worked harder than most servers I have seen who make $300 a service. I even took my receipt to the cashier and asked where I add the tip. "We dont do tips" she said, " but you might leave a couple bucks on the table". I was floored. Great job sir. Now onto the food... I walked up and down the line twice, very slowly, because there was a massive selection of many different foods (American Grill, Mexican, Asian, Bar Food, Carvery, Roasts and a pretty big salad bar). I was looking for freshness, cleanliness, and overall presentation. I started with the fresh produce as I always think that this is critical where salad bars are concerned, and worked my way through the cooked foods. The produce was fresh, the variety on the salad bar very extensive. The surfaces were clean and there seemed to be a girl whose main task was making sure the salad bar was tended to. I was actually able to make quite an impressive spring salad with what was provided. This was pleasantly surprising to start the meal, The food that I selected was surprisingly good, while there were a few selections that looked less than appealing that I decided to skip, the grill actually made me a steak to order and cooked it right, the first time. I stood and watched them prepare it, and they were happy to not only put up with me supervising, but were quite personable themselves. While the steak itself was nothing to brag about, it was cooked right. My family actually commented that the mashed potatoes tasted homemade, and that the pot roast was almost as good as mine. I didn't like that so much.... The wings needed work (slimey like they had been baked), they should use the grill for their wings, and there were two or three items that had been sitting, for this they would have gotten a two or three star rating in my opinion. Now this is where they earned my fourth star: My children absolutely loved their dining experience. From decent Mac n Cheese, to of course their pretty great dessert selections. And even my biggest trepidation, the chocolate waterfall, was a giant hit with them (I passed). Most places really forget kids when it comes to their menu, and try to pass off almost inedible food thinking that children don't know the difference. They certainly do. Mine do at least. While the food is certainly two or three star at best, for a buffet that's a great accomplishment, but you weigh the overall experience, considering the improved atmosphere, food and service vs. the price point. Every member of my family left full, with a rare smile, and my kids with a stick of cotton candy. Thats where they earned my fourth star. Great Job.

So not the best Golden Corral but not the worst either. Most of the food items were okay, I couldn't eat the devil eggs or some of the pork in the oriental and the carrot cake was gross. The good though, steak was good for a cheap cut (non-steakhouse), rolls are the best, and the kids LOVED the chocolate fountain. Server was nice and kept my glass full, but not everyone at our table had that experience (ate w friends) I'm not a big drinker at supper. If I had to, I would go back. Not my first choice, the price was okay though for the food quality.

Its a buffet, we all have been to them, the only reason why I am writing a review is because the place was filthy when we came in for dinner. Half of the restaurant was roped off, the half that was open did not have a clean table at all, we had three people who came in at the same time as us waiting for them to clear tables just so we can sit down to eat. I counted over 15 tables empty and covered with dishes. Employees walking around, not clearing tables. How is that possible it was 6:30 on a Wednesday? Thought we would give it another try, we took the kids there during the week on Friday, the food was good, service was good, everything clean and neat, redemption from the last visit. Maybe during the week visit was a fluke. (Hopefully) Changed my rating from a 3 to a 4

Clean, kept buffet. The only thing I wish they did was include allergy labels. Though this would be a difficult task, it would help people with food sensitivities and allergies greatly. Also, I always feel kinda awkward going to a buffet because everyone there is HUGE, and I am not. However, this is more a reflection on Americans than on this particular restaurant. Oh, and no lunch prices on the weekend was a bummer.

Help yourself to a box of antacid, way way over priced. Went once, one word some's it up.. That word would be NO! Not even worth our time.. $35.00 for luke warm food. Yes they have a huge selection and verity. But if your tummy wants a hot meal. Your going home pissed..

This is a brand new one, and from the sounds of it they have all been remodeled to this new look. We went for breakfast on Sunday and I love me some breakfast. Omelet stations, waffles, pancakes, AND French toast. Yes Please. Good variety for young ones to adults. As far as lunch, same thing great food good variety. They really stepped up their desserts too which now includes a choco fountain, hand scoop ice cream and in store made cotton candy.

well I have been here twice and there will not be a third time. The charging for drinks and hiding the cost is a bad start. First time place had just had a soft opening no signs but they were open for. 2 days. Layout is designed to make it hard to get food the layout has all the food on the inside curve and even though you get a tray they don't want you to use it to get your food. The steak shrimp and crabcakes are all. squeezed in the middle just trying to talk to the cook making the steaks is difficult the shrimp and crabcakes are each made in a small. frying pan one order at a time ! they will only give you one small piece of steak the oddest thing is coffees we asked the waiter if coffee was included or extra he was not sure and checked. Coffee is free if you are eating dessert, but not for dinner? Overall the food is Ok but difficult to get and is not usualy all that warm, a lot of the items also tended to be salty. I mentioned to one of the managers that I felt it would work much better if the waiters brought the steak and seafood to you. He said they did it at one time but had stopped quite a while ago. For the price I can go to Cheddars and have a nice quiet dinner with 2 sides and a dessert for the same price. The other local buffets are all laid out better and inlcude the beverage. if you do have kids you need to watch them as there is not much space when the place is busy. For a new from the ground up building it is not laid out well

I'm rating it 2 stars because the other 2 people I went with thought it was okay, otherwise it would get one star. I thought it might be good because it is new, but it smelled of greasy food and I had the salad bar because nothing looked very appetizing. Honestly, a McDonald's cheeseburger and fries would have been better.

Hi all, i've been a fan of Golden Corral for over 15 yrs here in Aurora. CO. Now this one branch open near my house what a blessing, it is newer and better decor inside than the branch on Mississippi St. I've noticed the menu is a bit different from the branch on Mississippi St. But i must say the food flavor was not as good as the one on Mississippi St. The soups were salty, the mash potatoes was not thick, the Grill dishes were too sweet. I hope these review will improve there cooking and becomes as good as the one on Mississippi St. But in all it is best bang for the buck, with all you can eat steaks, ribs, ect....best place to go if you want to gain weigh.ahahahah.

Everything from an unbeatable salad bar, pan-seared crab cakes, tilapia, pretty good steak, to fresh bake pies (you can see them making the dough for the cake right behind the counter and chopping up the apples for the apple pie!!!) and even a fudge fountain and cotton candy. Service was great and friendly, the owners even walk around and stop at your table to ask if everything is ok. Family and especially child friendly (very cheap to bring your kids) I'd say 5 stars. If there's a line don't worry, normally that means a place is good, and however long the wait is (normally not long at all) it's shorter than ordering at a restaurant.

First trip here on a Saturday eve-- early dinner after the movies, arrived about 5 pm. No wait, though there was a line of about 20 people by the time we left. I've never cared for the other buffet in town, but this one was excellent, much to our surprise. Great salad bar, excellent choice of pasta and sauces, pan-seared crab cakes made to order at the grill (along with pan-seared tilapia and shrimp), steak that my partner thought was very good, and to finish it off, carrot cake to die for. We will definitely go back.

Many choices! On this visit our service was good and so was most of the food. Sesame chicken was not! I like the three fountains, chocolate, white and caramel with fruit.

  • Mahm O.

Quality has gone downhill since they opened. The service can be hit or miss. The food areas are horrible. If they run out of food the bin stays empty for quite some time. Food is frequently at room temperature. I'm surprised that more people don't get sick from eating there. Kitchen manager (Richard) is rude! He has no concept of customer service. He'd be better of working by himself so he can't inflict his bubbly personality on the general public. I'll never come here again.

Excellent variety of food and the salad bar is exceptional. Restaurant is bright and clean. Only disappointment was the desert bar. We arrived early for weekend lunch and they still were short of a few simple items such as whip cream, cinnamon roles, and pies. When asked if they were going to be replenished they said they had run out. We could understand this if it would have been late in the day but we dined around 1:30 PM. Go figure. We will go back but not on the weekend. The weekend tends to be a little pricey because they don't offer lunch. It's dinner prices all afternoon.

The servers were on point. This location is nicer than the ones I have been to before. Only complaint is the food seems to be slightly out of order. Taco toppings should go after the taco fillings, not all the way at the beginning.

What was once a nice place in the summer of 2012 has really gone downhill. The ribs were cold and the noodles partially cooked. When I let the kitchen manager Richard know about the poor food quality he commented "maybe you should eat somewhere else". This says loud and clear that management does not care about customers or the quality of food. We won't be going there again.

The server is the only reason they deserve 3 stars. We decided to come here to compromise on dinner and I wish we would have grabbed dollar burgers at McDonalds. We would have saved 30 bucks and had an edible meal. The ribs were undercooked and bloody. The server spoke to the chef about it though and she was really nice and the chef offered to cook fresh ribs and bring them to the table, but at that point we we pretty much done. The bacon was so hard I couldn't break it with a fork, let alone my teeth. The popcorn shrimp were good and my salad was pretty good, but that is about it. If you are really craving Golden Corral, I suggest going to the Westminster CO location. Much better food. **UPDATE: The manager came over and refunded one of out buffets, so we were only out $15 instead of $30. They also informed us that we were the second people to complain about getting raw meat off the buffet...

You can't decide what you want. What sounds good??? Mexican?? Chinese?? How about a Steak? Maybe a Salad or Fried Chicken?? Haven't had a Hush Puppy in a while? Maybe you want one or all of the above so why not BUFFETT! This was the situation my brother and I were in a few weekends ago so we decided to give it a shot. It was 11 am on Saturday so breakfast was just closing up and lunch was being phased in. This was sort of a neat time to come. Sort of Brunchish time there. I had deep fried Bacon; this was sort of like a chicken fried bacon. They dredged it in something first so it had that coating on it. It's definitely interesting and only palatable in limited quantities. Then there was the variety and parade of dishes to choose from. Over all it's not a bad place and certainly handy if you have no idea what you want or are in a hurry. I noticed a sign that you can do ToGo.. 4.99 a pound.

Restaurant Manager Ever M. was very rude, unprofessional, and not very helpful during our families first visit to this location. I understand because of the Mother's Day crowd that accommodations would be difficult, however Ever was not helpful in making our group feel welcomed and comfortable while celebrating our Mother's Day. Our group was 25 people including small children and handicapped elderly. This will be the last time that I bring my family to this location because of the way that Manager Ever treated our group. Harlan was our waiter and he made every effort to accommodate us and did until Ever did not allow him to do so. Harlan did an outstanding job and made the already bad day better.

i have decided to remove the negative reviews i have left in the past for this place. Yes, I have not been back and not plan on going back anytime soon. I have also noticed several 5 star reviews given to this place by Yelpers with only one review. Good that they really liked the place and hope this business do well. Bon Appétit

When this buffet opened we were happy to give it a try. We knew going in that it was cheap food, hastily prepared for the masses. We were quite surprised. The food was fresh, well cooked and good. The resturant was clean, well managed and staffed by an attentive waitstaff. Sadly, as time has passed. It has gone downhill, and fast. The food is no longer good. Everything is overlooked, watered down or over cooked. The resturant does such a massive amount of business that the staff cannot keep up with the tables (clearing plates, refilling beverages) nor can they keep the buffet line clean. It looks like hogs have gone through. The clientele has gone downhill as well. I cannot, without sounding grand, say anything more. But, you might get my drift. A "lower class crowd" would be putting it mildly. We will no longer return and will make the drive to Country Buffet off of Orchard in Hughlands Ranch. They seem to maintain both a great food quality and a clientele that does not look like it is getting ready too or just has robbed a bank, conducted a drug trade or are heading over to Colfax to hook.

It's always packed of course. I like taking my daughter to eat together. I wish they still carried the wings. That's what I liked. I love their dessert sections and my daughter loves that too.

The place is kept pretty clean, the food is mostly fresh, the customer service is good. So for a buffet the hit on the main things that they need to achieve. I was a bit skeptical about the steaks last night and even that turned out to be a nice surprise. If you want to get a lot of food for cheap or have little kids then this would be a great choice.

Manager Edward declined the usage of beverage coupon that was listed on yelp. He said company only accepts coupons from their corporate offices. I don't appreciate wasting my time and the embarrassment of being denied using the coupon that yelp misrepresentation. Then general manager came out and refunded the $3...ugh too much drama for using it!

The food was yummy but unfortunately because it was so packed with people they couldn't keep up with the demand of food. We went there around 4pm on Sunday and it was packed. There weren't any baked potatoes, jumbo breaded shrimp, calamari, nothing but vegetables for the chicken fajitas, etc.... Our waitress was very friendly and my sweet tea was fresh and sweet. We go here all the time and it's never been like this with the food. My disappointment is I didn't get to eat some of my favorites. One more thing, the steak was seasoned and cooked prefect.

Nice place for family and friends! The food is really good. My uncle really liked the fried fish. Very clean and orderly. This place is really laid out nice. Food is fresh and hot! It would be nice if the soda machines were in a different location. Kind of awkward When you are trying to get your drinks and people are standing in line.

My wife and I had a coupon to go here for $7.99 a piece. Apparently they don't honor this on the weekends. This isn't stated anywhere in the fine print on the coupon so it isn't a matter of me just not paying attention. We took the time to drive all the way down there and wait in line, even pour our drinks only to be informed that we will need to pay $11.89 a piece for our meals. I told the cashier "we're leaving." At this time he rudely called out loudly so all of the other customers could hear that "they don't have any money!" Worst experience ever. If you are affiliated with this franchise I would like to inform you that this happened at around 12:20 PM on August 31, 2014. I will never consider dining at this establishment again. I would much rather go to Chipotle. This place just doesn't belong in Colorado.

I want to be very clear, I am not a huge fan of buffets in general. When I think of a buffet, I think of a bunch of old people over eating at a place that needs fresher food and cleaner environment. Whenever my parents visit, we have to go to Golden Corral. They love it. I must say that each time we have been here, it has been relatively clean, the food has been fresh for the most part and the staff has been great! On two occasions, my girlfriend asked where the fried Okra was and the manager immediately went to the kitchen and had it made, because it wasn't on the buffet that night. They just did the same thing for the clam strips. The manager and his team make the entire experience for me. I enjoy the time spent with my loved ones here and I will keep coming back as long as things stay the same. They do a great job here!

Buffet restaurants typically have a stigma and Golden Corral is a prime example of why buffet restaurants have this stigma. Bottom line is, the food is absolutely atrocious. Which is sad because I really do appreciate the occasional buffet and it seems like the only buffet I can truly appreciate is nowhere near where I live!! (the good ones are in Vegas) By the way, so that you have a good idea about what I mean when I say stigma and atrocious, I've included their definitions and it amazes me just how well it fits this place: stigma: 1. Sign of social unacceptability: the shame or disgrace attached to something regarded as socially unacceptable atrocious 1. very bad: appallingly bad 2. very cruel: extremely evil or cruel 3. ugly to look at: ugly in taste or appearance

I tend to enjoy eating at buffets. You get to take a little or a lot if so inclined. On a recent trip to Colorado we ate here for lunch 2 days in a row. This one is well maintained and has plenty to choose from. I found it to be keep clean, which can be tough at busy times. The value for the food offering is very good.

After a long day of school, I want to eat Golden Corral's pizza.I don't like a lot of sauce but their pizza has the perfect amount of sauce. Also they have my favorite toppings:cheese and pepperoni. The other topping is just plain cheese. It's crust is amazing. It's so soft and sometimes a little hard, but I like both hard and soft.Golden Corral's pizza is what I want to eat after a long day of school.

If I could give this no stars I would, So my daughter and I went to Golden Corral after her practice, it was about 8:20 at night, their door says they close at 9 but according to the unhelpful employee behind the drink counter they start removing food way before then. She advised us that they had already removed the food from the grill and what was out was it and would not be refreshed. If we wanted a steak, we could ask the chef to see if they would make us one. But I'm assuming that would have to be after we already paid. We weren't thrilled about the thought of eating "what was left" so we left and went across the street to Cheddars, who were more than happy to serve us, hot fresh food. We returned the next day for lunch because I promised my daughter that we would eat there. It was about 11 am. I was not hungry for a huge buffet so I just wanted a drink while my daughter ate before she had to go to work. Apparently you can't do that. Same person at the counter, called the manager over and he gave me an analogy comparing their buffet like going to the zoo. I told him I wasn't at the zoo and didn't want to eat, and said that I would've eaten the night before but that we were pretty much turned away at the door by their stellar employee that made their buffet sound so appetizing. He says"who told you that" and I said" she did". Of course she denied it. I mean really, why would I say that in front of her and my daughter if it hadn't happened? The manager advised that there was nothing they could do, so we left, and will not ever return to our local Golden Corral. I would rather drive across town to a Country Buffet than give them any of my money.
