USED to be my favorite place to eat. I have been going there for YEARS at least 2-3 times a week. I love Pam. Well, I took a friend with me to eat there and as I was eating my food I pulled out a long piece of metal (like from the metal scratchers). The waitress (who was not PAM) ignored me for 5 min (not busy) and another waitress came and got the food. Never comped my food, never said SORRY let me buy you a drink; NOTHING! I will only drink when Pam was making them but now I don't even want to go back. I feel like the waitress could of done something to make up for my food having metal. No, she just laughs!

I was a little confused at first because the sign and menu say Los Jimadores, but the address & pictures match this location. The first thing I noticed when I walked into the restaurant was a tortilla station with a woman making fresh tortillas near the hostess station. Heck yes. When we were seated, we were immediately given 3 types of salsa, fresh corn tortillas, and warm tortilla chips. I had the green quesadilla (cheese and spinach) which came with pinto beans (topped with cheese), rice, guacamole and salad. It was good and the portion was large. My husband had the carne asada plate, and that was great. Well seasoned & delicious. Service was awesome. Everyone was very friendly and attentive. They were great about checking on us and refilling our drinks, chips, and tortillas. I would definitely try this place again!

Authentic mexican food that is delish, just wish more.meat came with the meals. The margaritas are mostly tequila which is a plus.

I'll start off by saying the house margaritas are really good. The rest of the meal goes down hill from there. I had the Ranchero tacos and they were flat nasty!!! They were extremely salty and I normally add extra salt to everything. The tortillas were dripping in grease. It was hard to even get through half of my meal. The service was okay, nothing special but okay. I think we will stick to 3 Margaritas from now on.

This is great Mexican food in Brighton! Good prices on pretty authentic food. The seafood (mariscos) here are great. The salsas are incredible! Mole is decent for America. The wait staff is normally pretty amazing and friendly (Thanks Pamela!) The parking is a little awkward. Fresh made tortillas and empanadas on the weekend along with a fresh mocajete salsa! Great Mexican beers and cocktails. We usually stop here once a week.

Ok food and just love the spinach empanades (if that how you spell it) I like the handmade tortillas on the weekend mornings! Parking lot is sorta small.

First place in the US I've been to that has El Tesoroa Reposado, the only tequila that is not watered down after distilling. The place is clean, bright, and the wait staff is very friendly. Good salsa. Fajitas were ok, but they put some sauce on them I didn't care for, rather than leave them just meat and vegetables (which I like). I'll come back for sure (for El Tesoro), but La Fogattas is a bit better.

We went here on a referral from a friend. There were other restaurants on Yelp that had better reviews, but we took his word for it. So glad we did. Those naysayers don't know what they're talking about. We went on a Saturday and a lady was up front making homemade corn tortillas and homemade green chili salsa that is better than anything else I have ever eaten in my life. They only do this on weekends, and she served it to your table hoping for a tip. Then on to our meal. We both ordered pork carnitas and they were out of this world. We couldn't stop talking about it-- literally. The service we received was fast and prompt and courteous and we will definitely go back even though it's quite a drive.

Their food is amazing!! My husband and I go to this restaurant about once a week. We love authentic Mexican food and this is just the place to go for it. I order the Mirachi plate majority of the time, it's my all time favorite dish. Don't expect this place to be nicely decorated because it's not. I personally think it can use a little remodeling. And the service is great!!

This place has the best rice & beans I have ever had. The food is great & so is the service...and great margaritas! It stinks so many mexican restaurants are shutting down in Brighton (La Placita & Azadoras). But with that, my family and I have been trying other smallers ones around town (Kikos, this place, Spicy Taco).

Amazing food! Pam our waitress was very kind, and gave some excellent suggestions from the menu. The Homemade corn tortillas and fire roasted chile salsa are fantastic!

AWEFUL is the only word that can describe this restaurant! I gave it one star for the really cool chairs and saddle bar seats but that is all it deserves. The server couldn't have cared less about her job, only coming out of the back to quickly drop off chips and a tiny tiny bowl of salsa and slaw then back to hang out with her friends. The salsa is from a can, the guacamole is served on a bed of thick cut lettuce which makes it impossible to scoop up with the chips, also from a bag. The food was nothing special and frankly, hard to even taste because it was completely drenched in some canned excuse for ranchero sauce. Such a blasé excuse for Mexican food, something DRASTIC will have to happen to this place's menu and personnel to entice us to return.

In search of some authenticity we tried this place. It's very small and felt unclean. As a matter if fact, I would describe it as a lower end version of a 3 Margaritas. I ordered the carne asada and was disappointed that the meat was unmarinated. The waitress seemed to be bothered with any requests, didn't check on us, and didn't smile-even during our greeting. Unpleasant food, unpleasant service, a weathered back porch environment. You decide...

Food was amazing! Home made tortillas. Cabbage slaw is bomb. Salsa is perfect. A must if in the area!!

This restaurant was an awful Italian place back when I moved to Brighton in 2003. I think the bad taste left in my mouth from the Italian restaurant kept me from trying El Jimador when it moved into the space a few years later. The store has since evolved into Los Jimadores. The food: The chips are always served warm with cold salsa and another cabbage/jalepeno salsa that's pretty good. I've had the fajitas and Mexican Paella which are both very good, althought he fajitas are a bit light on the meat portion. The guacamole is served fresh. On the weekends, Los Jimadores makes fresh-made corn tortillas - they're delicious! I've not tried the desserts but they have a good selection at very reasonable prices. The service: The service is friendly, but a little slow sometimes. The price: Competive to lower than other Mexican places in the area. My verdict: Los Jimadores has taken the lead as the best sit-down Mexican restaurant in Brighton.

So bad. I've tied this place three times now. This was the third strike. Service is terrible, but on a positive note, the food was only really bad. No mas!

This place is GREAT! I have been here more than 10 times and never had any bad experience with the food or the service. Their food is delicious (I usually order the Mariachi plate) and they have some awesome margaritas! Price is a lil bit high but they serve you a lot of food! Staff have been friendly since day one!

As soon as you walk in, fresh tortillas and roasted-chile salsa entice the eyes. The red snapper was moist with good flavor. Tamale was decent but not the best I've had. Above-average chile verde. One of the best places in the area. Fresh food. Waitress was congenial, willing to accommodate a couple special requests. Oh, by the way: Cleanliness. When the waitresses weren't busy (it was 5:00) they were wiping the salt and pepper shakers. Impressive!

Sign says "Los Jimadores"... We are new to the area, moving to Commerce City from Denver/City Park area and are searching for new restaurants to try. The reviews brought us here. Service was attentive and very friendly (thanks Anna), starting right away with a drink order, chips and salsa, and warm, freshly made (right in the dining room!) corn tortillas with roasted chile salsa...delicious! I ordered the Mariachi Plate with perfectly seasoned skirt steak and bacon wrapped shrimp (actually had a piece of ham with the shrimp, wrapped in bacon!). My husband ordered off their impressive seafood part of the menu and had a giant bowl of seafood soup that was loaded with fish in a tasty broth. Margaritas were buy one, get one 1/2 off (deal!) - - and were delicious and not skimpy on the tequila for sure. A solid experience - food, service, drinks, atmosphere, great value! We will be back for sure. I think this is our new favorite in Brighton. Note to Yelp....change the name to Los Jimadores - it is confusing when you are trying to find this place (is it the same place or what?).

The best thing about this place is the price was right and the quantity was huge. If you're like me you value quantity over quality and this place had both. I think I paid $10 for the combo plate and I ate till I was stuffed. Super strong margaritas too. After just one, my wife was slurring her speech and giggling like a school girl.

NEVER AGAIN. The food is very expensive for what it is and it sits like a brick in your stomache all day afterwards. I went for lunch with my friend and he literally found a screw in his burrito. A SCREW!!!!! Funny enough after the waitress was informed she came back because they wanted to know if they could have the screw back. Ya, no.

I'm SO SAD! This place used to be amazing!!!! The prices have gone up and the food has gone down....way down.... You will be running for the potty within minutes of eating there. :( Also, beware the lady working there with a hair over an inch long growing out of her mole....If the food doesn't turn your tummy, this will! I lost the little appetite I had.

Food was pretty run of the mill standardized American influenced Mexican. Did have an all you can eat lunch for 5.99 which looked enticing.

There are so many mexican restaurants in Brighton. It is so freaking crazy! What is even more crazy is they keep coming. There is at least one more restaurant being built right now. I don't get it? Anyhoo,I have tried a lot of mexican here in Brighton and the only one we keep returning to is El Jimador. My hubby loves their margarita's. I love their chiliquiles. The service is always spot on and really friendly. Their chips and salsa are spicy. They also have this yummy concaction of lettuce, jalapeno, cabbage, vinegar, something or other that comes with the salsa that I can't seem to get enough of...oh, it's like a spicy mexican coleslaw? I know. I know. My gringo is showing badly! Please forgive me. Once we were there just a random day of the week and they had mariachi's that came to our table and sang and played. It was just so fun and campy. You people don't know stuff like this DOESN"T happen in Brighton! It is also one of the few places we can take the family to because they are vegetarian friendly. Again not a norm in Brighton. I have seen they have another place in Northglenn for you yelpers who aren't as far out as we are. But if you have to come to Brighton for a trip to court or something and you need to grab a bite. This one is safe!

Solid Mexican. Fun atmosphere, friendly staff, homemade salsas and tortillas. I had the Carne Asada which was very good. Kid friendly too. Marg's are just right, not too sweet and just strong enough, we'll be back!

El Jimadore is hands down the best Mexican restaurant in Brighton. The tortillas are hand made fresh every day right in the dining area, the menu is expansive but well presented, the staff is courteous and friendly, and the food is delicious.

We used to eat here once a week. The food was really good. Prices got higher while the taste of the food went lower. After they changed we gave them 3 chances but the food was terrible all 3 times. Have not returned in 6-7 months and won't return again.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
