Just don't - that's about the only way I can describe this place. Another place we'd been driving by a couple of times a week for close to 3 years now - we figured we'd give it a try while out and about a few weeks ago. I really wish we hadn't. Like some others have said, I wanted to like this place - it's a decent location, within walking distance to the other Old Towne establishments, but it also has plenty of parking. Upon opening the door, you can't help but notice the musty smell - it smells like many many years of cigarettes embedded in an old carpet. It's very dark - which is normally something I like, but here it was almost off-putting. The entire place is in desperate need of a good cleaning and some remodeling. We found 2 seats at the bar, and ordered a couple of drinks. The bartenders were beyond unprofessional - they were nice enough, but the conversations we overheard left us both shaking our heads. I say overheard - but it was impossible not to overhear as they were standing directly in front of us. The final straw was one of the bartenders ordering a plate of wings - standing in front of us and eating them and then continuing to lick her fingers. Then turning and asking if I'd like another drink while grabbing for my glass with her sticky wing sauce/spit covered hands. Um, hands off my glass please! I certainly understand there are situations where she may have to eat behind the bar, but there were 3 other bartenders there that night, and only about 4 people sitting at the bar - go elsewhere to eat your dinner please. She found time to go outside and smoke about 5 times in the hour we were there - I'd imagine she could find time to eat as well. Needless to say, I won't return.

Still horrible. Me and my husband have tried to like this place a handful of times. Service is horrible every time. All your bartenders do is stand around and curse and berate people or never even glance your way for more than ten minutes because they are too busy flirting with drunk guys. Seriously come on, we are not in high school anymore. Get a decent staff and than maybe you'll get some business worth having.

I wanted so badly to like this place, I tend to gravitate to dive bars that have large TV's, pool tables and golden tee. When i first found it after moving to Arvada around 2 years ago i thought I found my place. I keep giving them chances but leave me disappointed every time. I am somebody who gets along with almost everyone and i don't demand great service, just service in general... They don't even have that. I have been literally kicked out before ordering 1 drink for laughing to much with a friend and i wish i wasn't being serious. This place service wise is unbelievably horrible...

I love this place. I went on a Tuesday night when they had the trivia going on. The place is fun, they have great specials and all of the wait staff very friendly. I did have the "famous" 2.50 margaritas. And while I would not call them even close to famous, they weren't half bad. I have just had better, that's all. They have 75 cent tacos on Tuesdays, and while I did not try them....but I will tonight!.... but they sure smelled good. Anyway, I think this is a great place....always specials going on, friendly staff, just an all around fun place!

Drink deals are good. The food is hit or miss, usually pretty greasy though. Their Bloody Mary's are very good.

Decent dive bar in Arvada. That's the thing, it's a ways away for me. It's really big with a stage for karaoke which was fun. Service was sketchy and painfully slow. Food was delicious and inexpensive though! A huge slice of pizza for $1.99. Decent sized tacos for $2.99. Calzones are massive. Wings were crispy. Yum. Looked like they had good specials going on for Broncos games.

Food is average, but the service is similar to swimming through molasses. Painful and slow. Servers are busy smoking out front, drinking alcohol at the bar and gossiping about the highlights of their personal life. Once and never again.

Cheap and cheesy Arvada bar. Pool tables, yes. Cheap beer, yes. Disgusting free spaghetti, I think so. Not a great place. Enjoy if you must.

So, I've been to this place 4-5 times now and I really like it. Keep in mind, when it comes to bars, I'm a fan of the dark and dingy rather than the sleek and fancy. I love this place because I see all kinds of people there. It's big enough that it isn't hard to find a seat and, while old, the place has always been clean. Well, clean enough. There are a few pool tables, giant Jenga, and karaoke. I also think there might be an air hockey table. So, there is enough going on to keep people entertained, plus there is a great attached patio where smokers can drink without having to worry about leaving their drink behind. I'm not a smoker, but I have a few friends that are and this is a great feature. When it comes to the food I've had a few things off the menu. The fried pickles are amazing--so many places can't seem to make the batter stick to the pickles. They're probably frozen, but I'm a fan. The friend mac and cheese is delicious, too. Last time I was in I tried a bite of my friend's burger and it was really yum. Like the pickles, I doubt the patty is hand-made but it was tasty enough. As for the drinks? They aren't that strong. My usual drink (double-tall Jack and Diet Coke) was okay, but the last time I was in I wanted something else and ordered a Margarita. After two I still felt nothing. They tasted good, but they aren't anything special. I also had a shot while I was there--meh. The drinks aren't expensive, but if I'm looking for a great drink I'll hit up Rockabillies or Arvada Tavern. Overall, I like this place because of its location and atmosphere. It's simply a chill, easy-going place to hang out. The staff is super friendly and I feel welcome every time I go in despite not being a regular. My friends who are big into karaoke don't like to come here, though because the line can be super long and the DJ takes a lot of brakes. As someone who only listens to karaoke, I'm fine with that.

Pizza by the slice was awesome...crispy and huge! A steal for $1,99. Wings were good but too much sauce. Karaoke on Saturday nights, sound system needs work.

Honestly, I kind of love this place. Went on a Saturday night - bouncer at the door checking ID's - open seating. Karaoke happening alongside Olympics coverage, which I thought was hilarious (it was the figure skating portion - imagining those girls ice dancing to someone poorly singing "Pour Some Sugar On Me" was funny before the whiskey showed up. Our server was EXCELLENT, and I feel horrible I can't remember her name. She recommended the fried mac and cheese bites, which we ordered along with the fried pickles. Both good! The pickles weren't anything special, but the mac and cheese...it's made with pepper jack and holy hell is it tasty. Drinks were good - not too strong, but definitely enough to feel the kick. The clientele is beyond varied. You've got the cowboy, the hipsters, the regulars, etc. It's a fun crowd. It's loud, it's divey, and it's fantastic.

This was a pretty fun bar. There were people singing karaoke which is entertaining. Also drink prices were good so that's a plus. There's a nice little closed off patio to sit at too. It wasn't too crowded on a Saturday night which made it easy to get a drink

I love this place! Great drinks specials and the wings are great. I read a few reviews about people being drunk and getting cut off, I think you should realize you are down the street from the police barracks and they probably did you a favor. They are just doing there jobs so lighten up and learn how to handle your alcohol. Great job ladies! We love you!

Great Watering Hole! Its a bar people, and for a bar, it is pretty damn good id say. Beer is ice cold and service is pretty solid. The vets that have been serving there for a while take good care of you. They are working on improving the new talent. The food is badass. If you wanna burger, there's will blow Red Robin's outta the water. For a good ol' bar on the corner, this place takes the cake. Well done Olde Town Tavern!

Came into the bar to chexk it out. Was immediately informed by the bar tender they were busy and we had to wait and they only had 6 people in the place? We waited 15 minutes and xould not get a water. Or menu or drink. So went to grandview tavern and had a great dinner and service without bartenders with attitude. Dont waste your time with this place.

Tried this place out after our softball game last Wednesday night. I was a bit apprehensive based on previous comments, but to my surprise the service and food was better than expected. Or Server came by multiple times, was fun to BS with, and did a great job taking care of us. Their menu was pretty extensive for a sports bar and based on the responses from the other people in our group, pretty good. 20+ beers on tap and a great $2.50 burger special. Overall a great place to drop by for some pool, sports, or just grab a couple drinks. Would have given another half star if there was the option :-)

I would like the owner of this establishment to know that my son and his friend who were regulars in the bar suggested we go to to this establishment. We came to the bar Friday Dec 26 around 5 pm and had a few drinks and enjoyed the bar tender Shannon and found out they had Karaoke, so we left at 6pm to go home and change and pick up more people. We returned at 9pm and was served by a young blonde girl who was not overly friendly, and after approximately one hour and shortly after our second round of drinks we were informed by the young blonde girl our table six was ALL being cut off because we were getting to loud and rowdy. I seriously thought she was kidding as we were not TOO loud and if you consider laughing, visiting with family we has not seen in years, singing karaoke, and taking photos (oh and dont forget we are In a bar!) Rowdy then I guess we were. She then attempted to take the 4 drinks she just sat down minutes earlier that were full! I promptly told her she had to be kidding we had not done anything wrong and she was not taking drinks we just paid for. Two others from our group went to ask we were being cut off and heard two different stories, one was one of our party walked into a wall which was not true and if it was why not just cut him off, we used to own a bar and that is typical procedure. The other one was one of our party pinched someone's ass, that didn't happen either. If you want to go to a bar and have a good time don't waste your time going here. We went to another bar nearby and danced til 2, did nothing any different than we were doing at the tavern and had a $500 tab! Your loss, and you lost two regulars that spent money weekly In your bar!

Food is decent nothing spectacular but you get what you pay for. Beers are served cold so that is a plus. The service was mediocre, for instance I asked what beers do you have on tap ... the waitress replied well we have 14 but did not name any. I then had to pry out of her what kind of wheat beers, what IPA's etc.... but that wasn't what really bothered my wife and I. When we arrived we sat ourselves as per the norm, but one waitress (Nicole) walked over to the other waitress and said you take that side of the room (left side I think she said) I'll take the right because I don't want to serve them. Because of this attitude we will never go back nor will I continue to recommend this bar to my friends. We used to go there at least once a week, too bad one waitress had to have that attitude, with all the bars trying for business we will frequent others but this one never again.

Don't let the 'almost' grubby exterior send you away. I found the tavern to be quite inviting. The entire front is lined with windows so when you're inside it doesn't feel like a dark dive bar, lots of light and you can see what's going on outside. The strip itself seems to be a hangout for some unencumbered folk but I've never been bothered. It appears to be relatively clean and the barkeeps/waiters are very friendly and accommodating. The music is loud, a great mix of generations and genres. No mis-behaving or drunkenness and they have a wide array of wings if you're into that. Oh, p.s., a magnificent beer selection for Olde Town.

This place was great. Went with my grandma and my family for her birthday. Beverly and the other bartender were great multitasking as waiters/ bartenders. The food was great! Everything from calzones to regular American food to great salads. Before our water was half empty Beverly was there to refill it.if If lived in arvada I could go to this place a lot at night. Good people, pool tables, and very fun! Great place

We had a coupon and decided to check out Old Town Tavern & Grill for dinner.... The place was dark and the waitress didn't even know if they had a high chair. Upon ordering a milk, iced tea and Coke the waitress wanted to see our IDs. Being that we were just going out for dinner - not out drinking - I left my wallet at home (and, yes, I AM of age). Needless to say we decided to check out Gunther Toody's around the corner instead. Much better decision and most likely better burgers as well. The kids definitely liked it more! If a Tavern and a walk back into your college years, then great. If you're looking for something to eat, find somewhere else.

I heard about the tavern from a little known movie reviewer here, bigempire.com/filthy Makes the place sound alot worse than it really is. It's alittle dark but there's much worse on Colfax. The PBR is in a can, and the trendy folk from downtown don't make it out here enough to warrant a tap. The homeless are a good 5 miles to the east, so you can let your guard down alittle more than usual. Was alot more fun when chain smoking in public was legal.

came for drinks with a few friends... the service was horrible & the girls were very rude. we came on a night that there was karokee so I decided I wanted to sing a song.. I will not be back & I deffently will not recomend this horrible place to anyone else..

Nice little local bar. This place is large and accommodating. They have a number of pool tables, a very large outside seating area, and long bar area. Cheep drinks, good service, close to home. Nice.
