To be honest, the only reason we ate here is because it was on 'Kitchen Nightmares'. We want to try it during the taping, but weren't lucky. I won't know the extent of the decor changes, but it would seem that didn't extend to the men's restroom. Not disgusting, but the urinal partitions must be original, see photo. Service was prompt, accurate and friendly. The place was dead for a Thursday at 8pm, us 4 and a family of 5, Appetizers: Ricotta & Goat Cheese dip w/ seasoned chips. Quite nice, overlooking the undrained cheese fat. Buffalo Wings were spicy and juicy, unlike most bar wings. The dipping sauce was... unclear and quite oily. We never determined the flavor. Again, attentive wait staff, especially for beverages. Interested to see how it fares on a busy night. Entrees: Friends had the BTLA and Cheeseburger, no complaints other than a wait for ketchup. (Yea, I know. Don't ask) Husband had the Salmon I ordered the fried chicken. His salmon was slightly over-cooked, leaving a hard exterior and dry center. The quinoa was a little on the toasted side, but quite flavorful. My fried chicken with Mac & cheese and roasted kale and ham hocks was indelible. The Mac was bland, the kale tasted burnt and a lil crispy. The chicken (on bone) had a very hard crust that defied chewing. The breast meat was flavorful m and juicy. Waitress kindly swapped it for a salmon of my own. Oops. Apparently, overdone and cooked through is a fine line to draw. My dish fell in the raw category. :-( I appreciated the waitresses consternation with the kitchen for giving her raw fish to serve. Dessert: Apple pie, Brownie ala mode and Strawberry shortcake. Apple pie was very tasty, too bad the crust was undercooked and chewy. The brownie was yummy, but wasn't technically not a brownie, being more dense that Bieber groupies. Saving grace was the shortcake. Fresh fruit, house made whipped cream, and a cake that was light, moist, and sweet. Other impressions: Who still serves a salad bar in these times? Let alone for $6? Owner/ manager was friendly and concerned for our enjoyment, yet seemed a bit forced. (Possibly Ramsey's influence?) Overall the night wasn't entirely unsatisfactory and I'm willing to give them another shot. However, for $120 before tip, (even for 4 people) was a lil stiff when I left hungry. There's potential for another deserved star here and I hope they earn it. Can't wait to see the TV show for the before and how changes took hold in the first couple days. P.S. Next step; remod the bathrooms, new carpet when you can afford it, move away from feeling like a "Gentlemans' club. Until next time...

Went with my little brother over to check out the restaurant on my visit to his home state and we had a pleasant time at the restaurant. The staff and the owners are lovely people, very hospitable and treated us extremely well. Thanks for the beers and a good time, will be back.

We went here for brunch this past weekend and it was my first visit. Though I didn't know it, this restaurant is about two miles from my house and I never even knew it was there. That says something about the location..it's out of the way and hard to find even though it's right off 80th and Wadsworth. I also didn't know that this restaurant was on Kitchen Nightmares - a show that I do watch quite often. You can tell that certain touches of decor are all Ramsey. It's actually nice that this place is still around - When I was more into the show, I would check up on the restaurants and see if they're still open. Mostly...not so much. So good for you, Old Neighborhood Restaurant!!! So the Sunday brunch was pretty good. Fish and chips, stuffed french toast, biscuits and gravy, salad, fruit, turkey/beef, and a few other items. Everything that I had was good, and there were no complaints around the table. I had a mimosa...which turned into two...which turned into bottomless. The only reason for the 4 stars is the price. The $17 brunch price point is too high - but not too high that I will not come back. The service was great as well. Nice to have another brunch place so close by!

First visited the Old Neighborhood in 2012 when we moved to Arvada from Littleton. Impressed from the get-go, because of the large menu options, and the food was quite tasty. Large salad bar, dessert options, and yes, the eclectic "garage sale" décor. The had early bird options for the older crowd, and we thought it would be our "go-to" place. At that time I would have given it a solid 4 Star rating. Then, around our third visit, we were surprised to notice a drastic change in atmosphere. Gone were the washboards, cowboy boots and mannequins that had cluttered the rafters; now the décor was stark and uninviting. Gone was the salad bar. Instead of the encyclopedia of a menu, we were handed a one-page sheet with 7 choices announcing the birth of the "New Old Neighborhood" courtesy of that idiot "chef" Gordon Ramsey. The owners admitted they did it for the publicity and $60K in new kitchen appliances. What a disappointing disaster. Gone was my favorite chicken dish for $12.95, replaced instead with Fish and Chips for $17.00. . . . no more London Broil; yep, you guessed it - Meat Loaf for $15.00 instead. New Old Neighborhood, you went to ONE STAR. Decided to try the place again in March 2015. After meeting their contractual obligations to keep Ramsey's menu in place for a certain amount of time, they've gradually added back several of their menu items, and the Salad Bar is back. After selling their soul to the Devil, they seem to be on the rebound, but still have some work to do . . . overall, a fairly solid neighborhood option to Chinese and hamburgers.

This is my fourth trip to The Old Neighborhood. Each time I am more disappointed than the last. So far I have been here for an hour today. My appetizer order "the cooks never got that order" somehow and I haven't seen my entree either. This will be my last visit.

I am slightly ambivalent about the Old Neighborhood. On the one hand, the food is reliably decent. On the other hand, I can't say that I've ever been overly delighted by it. For me, the Old Neighborhood is a place to go out of momentum. Notably, the service is always friendly without being to familiar. It also gets points for not being a chain. During the week, they have some nice specials to check out for dinner.

The update did nothing to change my opinon of the "OLD neighborhood." Paying higher prices isn't warranted by the food, the ambiance nor the service. In particular, the owner continues to "smooge" with clientele perceived as big spenders on wine; others are just there. The food is slightly better than prior to Gordon Ramsay's visit, but still overpriced for the quality. Much better places at better (and fair) pricing.

This place is very weird in decor, food, and how the staff interacts with the customer. My best thing to say positive about this place is that the bathrooms are clean and the staff tries to serve you promptly at the table. From here, everything else falls apart. The traditional burger is not seasoned at all and I question from the very tough exterior if these sandwiches are reheated a second time. My wife got a carmelized onion soup that was over salted and did not have any cheese at all in the soup. If the staff would have not tried to send seconds on the soup and the burger...this place would get one star. One more thing, I did see female store display at the front on the way out. Please leave at home, very creepy.

Back in the day, I bet this was a nice place. We have been in a few times because of the deal in the Entertainment book. Each time that we left, we felt that we were way to young for this place. It is a shame because we always saw potential. Old Neighborhood caters to...well...old people. Most patrons arrive for the early bird. The problem is that they close so early (9PM Nightly) that there is really only an early bird option. For us working types (not retired) the place is ready to close around the time that we are ready to go out. There are many young professionals in the area that have been shut out. The food is pretty dull, lacks seasoning, and has not evolved with the times. The menu is ODD, HUGE, and CONFUSING, offering steak and seafood classics with Asian Teriyaki, German schnitzel, Southwestern chicken, along with Cajun, Thai, Mexican, etc. I always wonder, are they trying too hard, or have they just given up? It's a shame because this place has a nice bar. We have always wanted to add this to our Happy Hour and later loop, but it closes way too early and there are better options. It would be nice to stop in and meet friends for some nice craft cocktails and apps and stay for a great dinner. That is hard to do after work when the place closes at 9PM.

The owner greeted us with a smile and was really nice. It's a very nice and clean place. We heard about them from kitchen nightmares and thought we would check them out. We had the morning buffet and some of the food was great and other items were just ok. I would come here again maybe for a lunch or dinner.

My mother and I went to eat here just yesterday for lunch. Although the waitress seemed to be a little 'displaced' (read: scattered), we had a delicious lunch! I ordered the Dip sandwich. The roast beef was served very tender and delicious, with cheese, peppers, and mushrooms. The bread was soft and crusty - just enough for me. My mother had the chicken salad and love it. She also had the fruit and was very happy to receive it in small, bite sized pieces instead of the huge portions that are common. We had a very good lunch and can't wait to go back and try brunch. Everything was affordable and delicious.

My friends and I decided to try this place for Sunday brunch. Yelp reviews were mixed but options were quite limited in the area, so we gave it a try. All in all, this place is very over-priced for the food quality and location. The customer service was very nice which is where the 2 stars come from. That's really it. The brunch buffet was $17/per person, and the food looked mediocre at best. $17/buffet is a price I would expect to pay in the Highlands, not in an isolated area at a 1970's diner. My comparison of what the food looked like (granted, I did not taste it) would be similar to a full continental breakfast at an old-school Holiday Inn. I think I might pay $10 for the buffet. I was accompanied by 2 "steak-and-potatoes-farm-boys" who equally felt the price was way too high..which says a lot. 1970's homestyle all you can eat buffet usually would = 2 happy farm boys. Oh, by the way, breakfast liquids (coffee, juice, milk, etc) are not include in the $17 price. We asked our server if there was a lighter/cheaper option. Our only light options for brunch were a mexican omelet, chicken caesar salad, and a salmon caesar salad. Nope, not oatmeal, not 2 eggs & toast, or a short stack...but salads. For brunch. By individual choice, we all ended up with salads. And again, the quality of the salads would be par to what I would get at Costco's ordering counter - maybe worth $8. When we got the bill, the salads were $13.50. Are you kidding me? We spent $50 (w/tip) for a meal that was worth well under $30. I had offered to the boys to go to Denny's across the street before we ordered the salads, but they really wanted to give it a chance. Needless to say, the both got slices of pizza at our next stop.

The Old Neighborhood is an instituion, not a stinking chain restaurant. When ever I am in town I stop. Fish and chips are great, they use fresh cod and bread it themselves, meatloaf, beef strongnof, its all great comfort food. Full bar, worth a stop. Great desserts.

I'm a huge Gordon Ramsay fan (I mean HUGE, I've seen everything he's ever done, including the old British shows where he isn't even really a celebrity yet and he's doing his first book tours in Australia and all that) so of course I know the format on Kitchen Nightmares, and I know that an awful lot of restaurants featured have later gone out of business anyway. Despite my adoration for Gordon, I didn't really expect a dramatic change at the Old Neighborhood after his visit. There's very little reality in reality TV, and how could a few days really change a whole restaurant? Well, count me surprised. Yes, the decor is still hideous. There are still 11 kinds of wallpaper (that I saw) and new chairs are the only major improvement in the dining room. I had a chance to speak to the owner at length, and he confirmed that he's continuing to remodel the interior and exterior. He walked me through some plans, and I think the place will look quite a bit different by spring. As for the food, on the other hand, the change was extraordinary! It may have helped that I dined at the end of the night and few other customers were in the dining room--a party of 43 had just exited--but everything my table ordered was miles above the old-Old Neighborhood's flabby iceberg lettuce and fatty chunks of meat. Caramelized Onion Soup: Ordered by a tablemate, but we got two spoons and shared. (Amusing sidenote: This is "Camelized" Onion Soup on the Old Neighborhood's website. I detected not a hint of camel, fortunately. This was delicious to start out, but eat it while it's hot; if you let it cool much, it become greasy and the broth tastes of cheap soy sauce. Seriously, though, it's delicious hot. It's just meant to be finished that way. 3/5 Caesar Salad: A bit disappointing for the price, and hard to eat. It's a huge chunk of lettuce with dressing and croutons. But it's nice to have a simple choice on the menu for those who want a light meal, and the presentation is pretty. 2/5 Pan Seared Wild King Salmon: The standout dish for me, and my entree. I ate every bite of the generous portion. The gremolata is flavorful and fresh, and the salmon is as juicy and delicious as you'll get it in our landlocked state. One caveat: There was bacon in my quinoa! I eat mostly-kosher, and that's not mentioned on the menu. Ask for no bacon if you order this and prefer pig-free food. I didn't send mine back (I think it's a greater offense to waste already-cooked food than to eat a few bacon bits) but I was disappointed in the menu's lack of clarity on this point. However, everything tasted spectacular. I had salmon before Chef Ramsay's visit, and it was okay, but not something I'd return for. This dish, I already want again. 5/5 Meatloaf: My other tablemate ordered this and was delighted. It's homey, rich comfort food. I had a taste, and the mashed potatoes were creamy, with just the right amount of seasoning, while the meatloaf itself was the sort of hearty entree that I'd love to order in a snowstorm (if it weren't for the bacon on this dish, too!) or after a really long day. 4/5 Mud Pie: (I don't have the name exactly right on this -- it's the chocolate ice cream cake dish. Desserts aren't listed online.) MMMMM. Probably at least 2,000 calories in a portion. We split it three ways, and dinner was a celebratory meal to begin with, so it was worth the indulgence. It's nothing gourmet or experimental, but it's a delicious dessert that can easily be shared by three or even more. Very similar to a Cold Stone ice cream cake. If you're looking for avant garde, this isn't your restaurant anyway. If you're looking for a tasty, rich chocolate dessert with plenty of ice cream and whipped cream, save room for this. 5/5 My housemate and I will definitely be making this a regular destination when we have things to celebrate. Sit in Brandy's section if you can -- we had so much fun chatting with her and hostess Katy! I hope this becomes a Gordon Ramsay success story. If the owner keeps pushing forward with renovations to the dining room and exterior, I think it will be.

After coming here for almost 20 years, I recommend the awesome brunches they host on Easter and other holidays such as Mother's Day. Wonderful succulent prime rib is tasty and the desert bar has wonderful diversity. The owners are personable and really care about your dining experience. It's the best brunch in Arvada!

Really not sure what these other reviews are up to. This place served my wife and I very poor food (some inedible) at a fairly expensive price. We will never be back. The place is obviously struggling. Let it go.

Horribly expensive. Maybe good for the retirees who filled the place. $80 for my table for a brunch that you get for free at hotels. Keep reading about free champagne, didn't offer it to us. I'm assuming that loyal locals keep this place in business. I wouldn't go back. I was upset because for the price, I would if taken my family for a real nice lunch. Not going back.

The Old Neighborhood Restaurant has been around since 1980, but I've only discovered it about 3 or 4 years ago (when I first started dating my husband). Not much has changed since then either. Food - good, breakfast, lunch, and dinner. I've had individual items off of the menu, as well as their breakfast buffets. Both have been good, but not to-die-for. Interior - nice and comfortable. I think the interior needs to be updated (and it looks like other Yelpers agree with me. As I said up above, not much has changed since the restaurant was probably opened. Service - good Prices - good, about what other restaurants are charging for the same food items. Parking - a parking lot Will we be back - yes, but it's not high on the list. I hope they do some updating soon. They do need it.

I had seen this restaurant one day coming out of Target. As a resident nearby, I never knew it was there, had never seen an advertisement, and sure as heck didn't see it on the way to eat wings as we once did at least once a week a while back. Anyhow, we had a chance to dine here over the weekend and let me tell you - the prices don't match the decor that's for sure. Let's start with the food....due to the highly public figure coming in and revamping the place, the menu looked slightly different than what I saw online. As a party of 4, we all selected different items on the menu, and I went for the chicken gnocchi and a trip to the salad bar. The salad items were fresh, crisp and it had variety including a little mold on croutons. My chicken pesto gnocchi was great, just the right amount and all cooked just fine. The seafood pasta in my party was a little fishy tasting, had way to many scallops and looked like white pasta soup which needed some color and a little thicker sauce that didn't look like a bowl a heavy whipping cream. The loaf of bread they serve is excellent, homemade and I would suggest a second loaf for the road...just sayin'. I went for the lemon meringue dessert, way sweet, but tasted freshly made. Yes, it's truly outdated, reminds me of eating at my grandparents house, with the heater on (it was quite stuffy), funny oversized wicker chairs with wheels, quilted drape-like ceilings, a bar with a fireplace nearby, and a weird mannequin of some sort near the front door getting ready to scare the bejezus out of you.....really strange place. For a party of 4, we paid $177 - including 20% tip.....ridiculous. I don't think we pay for eating at a 4 star restaurant. Service was great, but maybe because it was a "special" event. We would go back, only if they updated place to match prices.

Good service and prompt. Nice wine selection. Good prime rib, crisp salad, wonderful bread, reasonable prices for food selection, and unique menu items not found elsewhere. I can't help mention what everyone else mentions, the atmosphere is outdated. Give it some new carpet, new seating, and change up the wall paper, and ya might get some improved reviews and more business. I would like to eat there more, but I feel like I need to be retired. The Restaurant business is hard, I know. Make the whole dinning experience a winner (environment, service, and food) and you got my $$$. Nice local place and I will be back again. UPDATE: I heard Gordon Ramsay is coming by. Listen! He knows what he is talking about.

Very old-school, "It's Our Special Night Out" atmosphere. Which is fine with me. I love picking my way through a salad bar, and Old Neighborhood's bar is stocked enough to make me happy. We also like to start off with their Fried Mushroom appetizer... topped with Melty cheese and Horseradish sauce to dip. Goes perfectly with a big, cold beer! We usually get some form of the Prime Rib, either alone or paired with their Scallops. The Man also likes their Steak Diane, or their Teriyaki combo with marinated Strip Steak and Shrimp. The service is usually attentive and friendly, but does have that "old school" feeling to it... like your Grandma and Grandpa would have gone there for their Anniversary Dinner or something. I have heard they do a good Brunch, with both a buffet table and Ala Carte options, but I've not experienced it yet. Overall, though, it's a homey, good place to grab some steak-oriented grub!

Gordon Ramsay recently stopped by replaced the kitchen updated the menu and cleaned out part of the dated decorum. The new menu is great! More inexpensive and fresher. Continued great service and a good selection of wines and alcohol. The final fresh touched are scheduled for October and include new carpet. And if you liked the old menu it is still available if you ask. If you had stopped going please give them a second chance.

We both had excellent fish and chips. Flaky inside, crispy outside, with nice crisp chips(fries). The server offered us malt vinegar, which we would have asked for if he had not offered it. There has been an improvement in the decor but I hope they continue to redecorate. We had been there before and agreed with a previous reviewer that it always felt like it catered to a much older crowd (and we are not spring chickens ourselves). I think that is less true now and younger people will feel more welcome. But I think it is too upscale to be considered a family restaurant.

  • Amanda S.

My grandmother choose this restaurant. It was very quiet. The servers were accommodating. The food was expensive and mediocre. Only about five of the twenty or so salad bar offerings were actual fresh vegetables...one topping was Fritos. The "early bird special" salmon ($14.95) was a decent way to go if you ever find yourself wrangled into eating here. The decor was stuck in some other space and time... (NOT "reminiscent of a 50's or 60's white middle class living room" as another reviewer claimed. So if you are a midcentury modern enthusiast who thinks this might be a fun place to go to check out because you read that review...don't bother.)

I experienced the NEW Old Neighborhood on the relaunch night after Gordon Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares came to town. I can't speak to what it was like previously, but WOW it was a great experience tonight. The dining room is large, but broken into a few areas; so great for groups, but also feels intimate throughout. The decor is comfortable, and the staff was welcoming and willing to make recommendations and accommodate special requests. The menu is a straight forward 1 pager with about a 1/2 dozen appetizers, several salads and sandwiches, 7-8 entrees and a few desserts. Our party of four ate enough for 6 to try to experience as much as possible. We were not disappointed with that decision! Starters: Duck Confit was fantastic. A deliciously crispy crunch and rich, moist meat. Probably our favorite. The crab cakes weren't at all greasy and you could really tell that crab was the key ingredient, not a bunch of filler. The beet salad, with red and golden beets and some kind of beet puree (I think) was earthy and delicate. And then there was the cheese dip with chips which was a generous portion and great for sharing. Entrees: Fried chicken had a big crispy shell and perfectly moist and well seasoned core. The mac and cheese on the side was rich and balanced by incredible ham hock kale. If I could order just that kale, I would... over and over. The wild king salmon had a mild citrus sauce on it and fresh greens with a sprinkling of parsley. It was cooked to perfection and our whole table loved it. We also tried the NY steak which was well seasoned but (my only criticism) cooked slightly more than we'd hoped for medium. Finally we had the bacon wrapped meatloaf. That's right... bacon wrapped meatloaf. So much flavor, delicious texture, and just mouthwatering bite after bite. You can't go wrong with this one. Desserts: Barely able to continue, we pushed through to dessert. The strawberry shortcake was full of fresh fruit, a citrus whipped cream, and the shortcakes were dusted with sugar and delicate like croissants. The brownie was super rich and chocolately, topped with delicious ice cream and contrasted with some glazed peanuts (think cracker jack peanuts) that really made the dish and a caramel drizzle. We also had the apple pie a la mode which was a classic done right, with great texture and sweet cinnamon and nutmeg flavor throughout. On top of the great food, we found the wine list quite unexpected. Cabs ranging from Yellowtail to Caymus and Silver Oak. A diverse list altogether with very reasonable prices. We enjoyed a recent Chilean blend and 2000 cab from Oakville. Not a huge list, but some really nice selections to suit anyone's taste and better than most restaurants that price their dishes so reasonably. They also sport a full bar for those who prefer cocktails, beer, etc. Prices were very reasonable, and considering the quality of the meal I'd say a fantastic value. Starters from 7-12, entrees from 13-25. Wine from 20-100. I will definitely be back, and wholeheartedly recommend Old Neighborhood! Get in there before the TV episode airs, because I imagine this place will be packed when everyone realizes what is hiding in plain sight in Arvada!

We tried the Old Neighborhood Restaurant last night for an early sunday Dinner and we were really let down. I was hesitant to come because some of the reviews were still bad even after Gordon Ramsey just left a few weeks ago but we decided that we had to atleast try it. The interior is still very dated and the restaurant was pretty empty. There was about 1 other table when we got there and 2 other tables when we left an hour and a half later. First : We didn't get an appetizer because the ones we had our heart set on from their website are not on their current menu. We tried the prime rib special for Dinner and we hated it. The steak had a weird color to it and it looked almost old. Very thin steak for $18; would of been better off going to Outback. It had a very chewey, odd flavor so we sent them back. However the sides were really great my partner had mashed potatoes and I had a baked potatoe. The sour cream on the potatoe was literally sour tasted like it had sat out all day. The mashed potatoes were really fantastic and the green beans were fresh and full of flavor. Our new entree's were fish and chips and fried chicken. I had no complaints with my fish but my partner hated the fried chicken he said it was dry and the coating had literally no flavor. He said the king soopers chicken tastes better. Our sides with those dishes were mac n cheese and fries and both of those sides were good. That's actually the only reason I give them 2 stars are the sides. The dessert was also a real dissapointment. We had the strawberry shortcake. It was on a hard bread with some strawberry sauce soaked in the bread. The fruit was room temperature-warm which was kind of a turn off and the stale bread was pretty gross. THe only other plus was the server was really pleasant and kept on top of our drinks pretty well. The owner didnt appreciate our complaint very much and was frankly not very apologetic at all. He was around talking to other guests and I felt we were kind of singled out because of our complaint as he made no small talk with us. Most likely will not return which is a shame since its only about 2 miles from my house.

We were hoping that after Gorden Ramsy's visit things would be better. Not so much, the old neighborhood still smells and looks old. The restroom, the wallpaper, the booths that remind you of an old folks home. The food was marginal. I will say the wait staff was very nice though. Sorry guys, not coming back.

Had a great dinner for Mom's bday. Salmon was awesome with tasty quinoa and salad. Moms stroganoff reminded me of a trip to Russia in the 70's. Dad had steak. He and I both enjoy steak and he was very pleased. My wife had a cheeseburger and she wants to go back. My little sister had fish fry and that fish reminded me on Friday fish fries in Wisconsin. Beer battered and crisp on the outside, while very flavorful and most inside. A trend on many conversion TV shows is smaller menu, but good food, service, and presentation. Plus, fresh. I am certain that the Old Neighborhood is renewed and will succeed.

I've been going here for years on and off and have had mixed feelings about the food. I do believe the brunch is over priced compared to others I have been to and the sections are fairly ordinary - nothing over the top. I think it is OK if you go to lunch or the early bird dinner as the prices are better but the food is pretty old school. The decor has not changed either. We came in early on a Friday night and there were not many there so I asked for a booth. It may have been too much for the hostess who had to clear it with the owner but their were less than a dozen tables occupied the whole time we were there. The salad bar selections were the same and they always have a few house specials each night. I like the little bread loaf with the salad. Our entrees were good - fish and prime rib - but nothing to write home about. It is a very comfortable place if you are in the upper level but the back section of the dining area needs some work.

This place looked (and smelled) like a grandma's house. Holy smokes! The decor was really unbelievable. It is hard to describe the matching wing back chairs, the wall paper that stretched from floor to celing (and beyond), and the silver that holds the buffet food all deserves a makeover. This must be the only breakfast buffet in town because people seemed to enjoy it. It wasn't bad by any means, but it needs to kick it up a gear for the price ($18.99). I get that you get never ending champange, but what about those of us who don't consume alcohol? We still get over charged. There was an omlette station with a few selections but were over powered by the butter they melt in the pan before hand. There were a could premade selections that looked as though they had been sitting there for a while (like the egg, cream cheese, and chives mixture as well as the salmon and dill sauce creation). The waffles were soggy and...not good.. Over all, not worth it for the price. I won't be returning anytime soon.

I used to love The Old Neighborhood and dined often for a reliable steak or chicken dish. They've always had a great salad bar with chilled plates and fantastic homemade dressings. They offer great dinner specials throughout the week. I've enjoyed their Sunday brunch and the champagne buzz to go along with it. I must say I have not been there it quite sometime because the last two dinners were disappointing. The salad dressings tasted watered down. No matter how much I poured on the flavor was lacking. I ordered a strip steak with sauteed mushrooms on the side. The shrooms were fried in nasty oil (hydrogenated?) without a hint of wine, garlic, anything. On the positive side, the service has always been great, and the decor is warm and quaint.

Charming! I visited Old Neighborhood Restaurant for training to become an ambassador for Project Angel Heart for the upcoming Dining Out For Life event on Thursday, April 29th. While it wasn't a typical dining experience, I did get the chance to sample some delicious appetizers (potato skins, vegetables and dip, jalapeño poppers...) along with some lovely pomegranate tea. The interior is what I would imagine for a restaurant with the label "Old Neighborhood" - but the type of old that is comforting yet elegant. The staff was professional and cordial as they quietly refilled drinks and checked on us before and after the training session. I'd love to check this place out for breakfast.

Excellent cuisine! Great deals for locals, or on luncheon specials. Warm, comfortable elegant ambiance. The Old Neighborhood is the place I take out-of-towners and family and friends, to enjoy the gracious side of Arvada. The couple who own this restaurant are ALWAYS here, (At least 25 years!) keeping a close eye on the high quality of food and service. If you liked the old-world decor of the Berghoff restaurant in Chicago,(and the food) you'll like the Old Neighborhood! Sunday brunches are also high quality and memorable, with hand-carved roasts and great varieties of entrees and desserts- and a great wine list.

This is an institution in Arvada. It is just west of the Target at 80th and Wadsworth. This is not a trendy spot. The decor is reminiscent of a 50's or 60's white middle class living room and you get the feeling of walking into someone's home when you walk through the front door. Salad bar is okay, nothing special (I do like their house balsamic dressing), the soups are good, fresh baked bread is light, not hearty, but pretty good and their menu has all the standard trad American dishes. They have nightly specials which usually includes at least one fish dish. They serve a good prime rib that is tender, tasty, and actually comes the way you order it (plus they have fresh horseradish for the asking). Great family friendly restaurant a little pricey but not exorbitantly so.

My family took my girlfriend and I to one of the best breakfast buffets ever here. Supposedly the place has been there forever but I had no idea. The food was great, they had crab legs, an omelet bar, tons of different desserts and everythin in between including such staples as bacon, french toast, hashbrowns, and fruit. However the coolest thing was the champagne. Every time the glass was about to be empty, a waiter or waitress was right there to pour another and trust me they werent stingy! This place had possibly the nicest staff of anywhere ive ever been. If your in the burbs in colorado, definitely come here for sunday bruch.

We went in for mother's day brunch and I can say I won't be coming back anytime soon. We had a noon reservation and were told for approx 20 min that we only had to wait 5 mins longer for our table, which normally I wouldn't care but the host (also the owner I believe) never once said sorry or offered the very pregnant women in our group nor my 87 year old grandmother a seat. Mind you the bar was open for seating.... Anyhow on to the service and food. Service was OK nothing amazing nothing bad slow but they were very slow the champagne flowed very generously. The food really was nothing great...it was warm and tasty the chicken a bit dry but it wasn't amazing either... for the money I would have preferred Le Central Sunday brunch tasty and much larger selection of food!
