Someone wrote on their review that this is the closest you'll come to Polish markets in Chicago and that was my immediately reaction when I stepped into this place. I knew right away I found the place I've been looking for in Denver. What separates this place from other similar ones throughout the city is the selection. There are so many different types of meats and cheeses where other spots you are very limited. Also, you have fresh bread and also desserts! Then you have all types of other things from Poland that are hard to find in a regular store. The prices are on par with other places, which means they are way more expensive than Chicago, but that's because everything is pretty much sent from Andy's Deli in Chicago so all the prices are affected by that. Finally, the ladies were very nice and helpful and it's fun to practice my Polish there, albeit briefly!

I ordered one of their deli sandwiches as advertised on their front window. I also was purchasing two bottles of mineral water. When I got to the counter the woman told me they were out of bread and couldn't make any sandwiches today. Other than cold cuts that's the only food options they have. I then tried to buy the two bottles of water with my credit card because I didn't have any cash. She refused to take my card because the order was under $10, which it would have been if they have had bread in the first place. No apologies, no tact, and a poorly run business. I own a business myself within walking distance and sadly I will never visit this store again. They gave a Colorado native the true European treatment.

Growing up in a Polish household and spending much time in Chicago, Polish food has been an important and essential part of my life. When I moved to Colorado, I instantly began researching where to find good Polish food and this is THE place. This place is Polish heaven - Polish rye bread from Andy's deli, pierogis near to or possibly better than my Babcia's, kielbasa, stuffed cabage, Ajvar to satiate the Balkan part of me. I love this place and always recommend it to anyone who is craving home-cooked quality Polish food.

I usually stop here when eating at a European Restaurant in the same parking lot to take a few things home. Don't let the store front fool you - it doesn't look like much from the outside. But lots of goodies are hidden within! This appears to me to be primarily a Polish food store / deli. There are quite a few other European foods as well, and one of the best selections of "unusual" deli meats you could ever hope to find in the Denver area. They also have a large selection of European canned and bottled foods, and frozen homemade items. Their selection of European chocolates (including the liquor filled variety!) are unmatched at any store I am aware of. Very friendly ladies behind the counter - don't be afraid to ask them for something you can't find!

As close as you will get to Polish markets in Chicago. Have had several types of polish sausage from here and all were delicious. The garlic sausages are great! Perogi is like homemade. Directions just say boil for 5 mins after they float, but it needs one more step. You need to fry them in butter till browned. That is how my Polish mother in law does it and they are awesome. Try the potato and cheese for a savory perogi or the sweet cheese, my favorite! The jarred pickles are really great, not sour. Lovely staff, very helpful for those of us who do not read Polish and they will give you a sample of the sausage.

We first walked into this place not knowing what to expect. My boyfriend and I are big deli fans and so we thought we would give this place a shot. It is very small and quaint and the lady that worked there is nice. We ordered off their lunch menu which is comprised of three choices: Ham & Cheese, Canadian Bacon & Cheese, and Sausage & Cheese. Now don't let this discourage you from trying the sandwiches (all three are wonderful!!). The sandwiches come piled high with meat and some cheese placed between two hearty slices of bread. You get threesides: sweet baby pickles, sauerkraut, and a bag of potato chips. For only $4.95 you get a good sized lunch (there is a $10 min. if using a credit card). The last time that we visited this place they had homemade donuts with mixed fruit marmalade filling. These donuts were light and moist but not overwhelmingly sweet. Overall, this place is a great find in a small strip mall area and worth checking out!

If you can appreciate deli meats including smoked mackerel, Polish and Hungarian hams and sausages, homemade frozen Pirogies, and all the condiments and dry goods to go with it, you will love this place. Wonderful sweet selection, and thick sandwiches too.

Blink and you will miss this place. My Polish friends in the city did not even know about this place, so I am telling the world. European Gourmet Deli is located behind European Gourmet restaurant on Wadsworth in a strip mall (behind the roadside buildings). If you did not know it was there, you would probably miss it. This place carries predominately POLISH foods. They carry everything from homemade Pierogies, Kielbasa, Stuffed Cabbage, Soups, Stews, Breads, and have imported meats, cheeses, and other Polish foods. Most of the deli items are foreign to most Americans, however the ladies will allow you to sample. Check this place out, it is a hidden gem.
