Delia's Deli gets 5 stars!!! I go in here all the time to get a sandwich, chips, and a drink for lunch. They usually have an assortment of sandwiches on various types of breads available for a quick purchase if you're on the run, but I would highly recommend the build your own option. They have a variety of meats, cheeses, and breads to choose from and they're all really delicious. The girl and gentleman who usually work behind the deli counter during my lunch trip are very friendly and I've never been unhappy with anything that I've ordered here. :) That being said, the grocery half of the market is a bit wanting. They have good quality products and their fruits and vegetables are top notch, but sometimes finding someone to ring you up is a mystery novel waiting to happen, 'Rebekah J. and the Case of the Missing Cashier'. On a serious note, The Farmstead Market has too many great things to pass up. If you're ever about to drive past, you should stop by and check it out.

The employees are great but the store in general needs help with keeping things in stock. I'll have to try the other areas as far as Deli goes! It's been awhile since they last changed it but from what I recall the food was good and prices were reasonable. Lunch time is pretty busy. You got locals from businesses nearby stopping in. But yes, not to happy about the grocery part of the store.

Random lunch stop on our way down to San Diego. We had pulled off the freeway, were looking for somewhere to grab a quick bite and lucked out with The Farmstead Market. Ended up ordering a few sandwiches and bowls of chili. It's a cute little farmer market-esque building that offers a small grocery store, deli, ice cream and coffee. Loved the concept. We only purchased from the deli, so I can't say much about the other products. The sandwiches were extremely flavorful, albeit a bit pricey. Our group ordered a tri-tip sandwich on their homemade jalapeno cheddar bread (yeah, it is spicy), pastrami on homemade onion bread (lots of dried onions), and ham sandwich on sourdough. All of the ingredients were fresh and sandwiches were enough to share at about $9 each. We also grabbed some specialty sodas, turkey chili (wish it came with cheese), and chips. The place looked like it was under construction, with several areas blocked off. Hopefully they will be finished soon and fully operational.

Just got the ham and cheese quiche from the deli counter. And oh my gosh. It's THE bestest yummiest quiche. I definitely recommend them. I can't wait to try some of their macaroons and sweets. They also have huge delicious looking salads.

This place is cool but way too expensive. Its hard to justify spending that much money for food. They do have an ice cream parlor and a really cool deli with awesome sandwiches that aren't too badly the priced. My favorite sandwich is the try tip or the nighthawk. I do have a fairly good beer selection and a nice outdoor seating area.

This place is ridiculous. Not only are there very few options that are actually healthy, but today I went to the deli which is now apparently ran separately from the main store. I purchased just under a pound of tuna salad. The price was 12.00!!!!! Last time I ship there! It's one thing to pay more for healthy food...but this place is ridiculous! And big surprise--the store was empty!!!!

i worked in the deli department of this place for a month, and let me tell you, everything back there is local, fresh that morning, and extremely sanitary. The workers are few but dedicated, and the food is delicious and all handmade right there. The rest of the store needs a lot of work. The grocery isles are basically empty, we have so few employees that the customer service is often lacking, and yes, you have to check out separately for the meat counter, the deli, and the grocery store. They plan to put in a wine and cheese counter too-another separate check out. Farmstead, I love you, you were good to me, but you really need to fix this!! People complain about it DAILY. I know all the store areas are leased out separately, so what? Put a button on the cash register to change checkouts! And do more advertising, and get more stuff in there! It has so much potential and I hate to see it all go down the drain. But really, the sandwiches from the deli are amazing. I'd recommend that part by itself.

I absolutely LOVE this market the deli is amazing and I love the out door seating. Every thing is always fresh and delicious! I recommend this place to everyone!

Beer selection is excellent! And that's about all I saw... The store had way too many empty shelves. Flowers were sad and wilted.

Love Farmstead market. If you are in the area, make a stop there for their sandwiches. I really love their takeaway roast chicken and the fact you can get organic kimchee, bakery goods and a great cup of coffee.

Lovely market w a juice bar, deli, olive bar and a vineyard type outdoor seating area. Trying their Nighthawk Sandwich: Turkey cream cheese avocado cranberry sauce cucumber romaine on squaw bread with a iced lime pomegranate green tea. My sandwich is huge! They carry variety of specialty craft beers and local and imported wines.

What's going on with Farmstead?? Now I have to "separate" my items in my basket and go over to a different line to check out "those" items??? When I get up to the second cashier, the tiny area that I have to lean over to pay kills my bad back I actually have to put my knee on the display case and lean over!!!! To pay!!! what the heck is going on?? And no explaintion? I asked is it two stores now? The response was well.. Haha .. Uh... Kinda... Huh huh. I supported the store from the beginning but it has just gone from bad to worse. I won't be back till things change.

I will never go back again. I've tried to give them multiple chances to give good customer service but they fail EVERY TIME. No one ever knows what's going on. I order something from Delias and it's like I'm asking them to hike Mount Everest. They will not get any more of my business. DONE. The only reason they are getting 1 star is because I have to give at least 1 star to continue the post. I guess good customer service is a thing of the past.

  • Donna S.

I like the deli selection. They have a great selection of gourmet salads and treats that you can take for a nice picnic at the park or beach. Or a handy meal at home. The rest of the market is a mix of a gourmet market and health food store. Whole grain and gluten free pastas, environmentally safe cleaning products, gourmet chocolate, healthy energy bars, a cheese cake, etc. But the prices fit right in with gourmet and healthfood store also. But I think the deli case is worth it.

  • Charita A.

It can be expensive depending on what your getting and I wouldnt recommend coming here if you're looking for a specific item that you know can be hard to find. For instance, I was disappointed there was no arugula in the store the few times I've gone.

After reading an ad for this place I wanted to check it out since what the place sounded like on paper seemed to hold much promise. Actually going there was like having tickets to a Broadway show and when the curtain opens it's just a lady in a mumu singing karaoke. Like other reviewers I noticed many holes in the shelves and produce department. I would not buy their Russet potatoes because they were green skinned. NOT good eats. Meat counter was barely populated, fish counter close to empty and the cheese shop I so looked forward to was not even up and running yet, although it is mentioned in the print advertising and the website. When I did go to check out three items at the cashier she couldn't weight my Yukon Gold potatoes because...the scale didn't work. Hmmmm. My wife and I ordered a tri-tip sandwich and the Italian cold cut sandwich. I liked mine but the tri-tip had a too sweet barbecue sauce and my wife said she would not order it again. This place seems to be presenting itself as a "locally sourced" organic, gluten-free, high end market like Whole Foods but it is NOWHERE close. High end pricing, but nothing there that makes me want to go back.

What happened to this place? I have not been here in over a year. The first time, I thought it was a quaint market. However, this time I was disappointed by the lack of products on the shelves, dusty, & over-priced items. Kind of freaked out by the free chocolate samples. They were cut up on the counter near the registers. Eww!

  • Marsi R.

We love their sandwiches and their fresh produce but it is a little on the expensive side.

Wow. Wow. Wow! This place was such a find for me, my son and our dog. We were looking for a place to have a snack on a patio since we were on an outing away from home, and we found so much more!! The patio is like a beautiful garden sanctuary, with grape vines, veggie garden and just a really relaxing atmosphere. The market had amazing scratch made cookies and hard to fine but delicious drinks for kid and grown up alike. One of the vendors even insisted on giving our dog a giant dog bone treat! Super excited to come back again!!

Don't get the ice cream that they brag about. It tasted really good but for $3.25 they give you about 1 tablespoon of ice cream. Let's think about this that's probably more than good caviar costs. I have tried to support this business numerous times within the last year since they're opening. And all I can say is that every time I try to support him I am beyond disappointed just close your doors already and stop the bleeding.

  • Tyler D.

They have no meat selection, the shelves are literally empty. It has been like this for several months and if you ask an employee they will lie and say that they will be restocked in a few days.

    (1)
  • Andrew V.

Hate to write poor reviews on what seems like family owned grocery business, but the price is higher than most grocery stores. I understand they are going for organic which is hire price point but theirs also not much on the shelves. Their looked to be 3 or 4 different cheeses and the rest of the cheese shelving was empty. Wanted to try this place out but it didn't work for me or for that price range.

    (2)
  • Jason G.

A great selection of healthy produce, snacks, beer, wine and food at the deli. Nice place for lunch on the patio. They even have locally grown coffee out front of the store. Their selection rivals Starbucks but the wait is shorter.

Finally stopped in to check this cute looking place out for lunch. While waiting for my sandwich I walked around the store to check things out...was not impressed. Cheese selection was very limited (like about 7 to 10 cheeses total). My sandwich had good flavor but the bread wasn't as fresh as a $7 sandwich should be. In all, it was an ok place and would give it a 2.5 starts. May try their juices later.

For what it is (farmer-owned grocer), I'll give it 4.25 stars. But will round up on my "rating" to boost overall. There's a nice outside patio for eating their deli and/or stand foods. Produce is a little smaller than I'd expect from a farmer-owned but then again if it were all farmed products, then it would just be a farmers' market. Staff is friendly. Store is clean. Will definitely return. Oh, and their sausages looked fresher than most other grocers. Unfortunately, their grass-fed beef cut looked old but I'm giving them the benefit of doubt that the rest were fine and that's why only one was left. As a response to some of the other reviews, obviously you should still check expiration dates. And it's not a liquor store, so don't be expecting low prices on alcohol. If you compare it to other grocers, then their price point is still competitive. Especially when you consider this to be more of a health foods store or "farmstead" as noted in their name. It's almost a given that prices will be higher.

Recently moved here and found this place when I was looking for some gluten free and natural organic foods close to my house. I love this place its smaller than barons and some of the bigger store but everything was great I love their deli.

Stopped In and was told I had to see the Sausage. We Purchases Sweet Italian, Hot Italian, Calabrese, The Cowboy and The Chicken and Shrimp. The Cowboy was Good but the Chicken and Shrimp blew my doors off. Probably one of the Best Sausages I have ever eaten. To bad it's so far away. Great Little Market.

I give this place 5 stars for so many reasons. First off the staff is amazing, Rod the chef makes amazing food and often shares his recipes! One of my favorites of his is his salsa! And he often has it out for sampling. 2nd the food here is so good! I often order the chicken salad, pasta salad and their cheesecake. They make the most amazing cookies here. Our favorites are the peanut butter and oatmeal raisin. I come in at least 3 times a week just to grab some. The newest cookie is the peanut butter chocolate chip and we are obsessed with them! They grow a lot of herbs in the back which I love because I know it's fresh. The produce here is so good. Anytime I want a salad I come here for the freshest ingredients. The meat is pricey but I watch their ad and work my weekly menu around whatever is on sale. I can get better quality chicken here for the same price as Costco if I wait for it to go on sale. The butchers here are very friendly and will cut you up anything however you want it. And they never seem annoyed. The owner is often in and very friendly. They have pretty cool events on the weekend which are family friendly. And the have free samples and often free food on the weekends too.

WARNING: They do not rotate their products!!! I've been here several times. Once I bought Kefir that was already expired by a week (and that brand has a LONG shelf life). The next time I went here was several months later and TWO items I got were expired. I had completely forgotten about this happening the last time I was there. I admit I should have looked at the expiration date, but the fact that this has happened more than once shows me they don't really rotate products! Not only that, but they are RIDICULOUSLY overpriced. You'd be better off going to Roots. Whole Foods doesn't even charge as much as they do, but unfortunately there isn't one around. Positives: Their breakfast sausage that they make is a-maz-ing. I will probably be back to buy this product alone. They have a deli sandwich with turkey, cranberry, and cucumber that is pretty tasty. Last time I had it, the turkey was dried out like it had been sitting there for a really long time - I'm talking weeks. It's a shame because it's totally yummy. The girl making it had no life force. She seemed like a zombie. I hate to point out an individual, but seriously... how could you use that old meat on a sandwich? She didn't care. I've had jobs I hate, but you still have to do your job and at least act like a human being. I'm also pregnant, so, that meat could have gotten my baby and I really sick :/ I'd recommend going elsewhere.

Really a "meh" market. I thought they would have a more interesting deli selection. I think "underwhelmed " really is the best word to describe my feeling. I figured there would be more local selections. I don't see anyone doing all their shopping here nor do I see anyone making a super special trip to this market. They do have a drink stand outside. I wanted to try it but no one was inside it when I stopped in. No one was rude to me. Workers seemed to be in nice moods. So I didn't spy any rudeness that other reviews talked about.

I've been trying to find an organic, non GMO meat counter in every other organic market in Riverside County. The other organic stores have meat, but almost no selection and unless you have lots of money, forget it. Produce I can get at the other two stores and it's inexpensive and wonderful, as well as their other products, but I couldn't afford the meat. Finally, I found inexpensive REAL meat. The produce is excellent at Farmstead too. I'm sitting here eating a black plum. Took me back to the early 1960's when I sat up in the branches of my grandma's plum tree eating the sweet juicy fruit. Purple stains on my fingers... Anyway...I'm about to have a tri tip barbque from Farmstead. Great store. Go shop there.

I think, when you want to shop for Locally grown, Fresh, Organic, Tasty, Healthy, Low price, product should go to Farmstead Market! Recently moved from Irvine to Murrieta, and so happy that I have them close to my new home! They have a very welcoming environment!! Thanks to all of you @ Farmstead Market!

First visit here--loved watching the lettuce get picked and put on shelf for me to buy! My toddler got to help pick the lettuce too! Produce manager Chris was so patient with us, helpful, very friendly and informative. We will continue to come back for all the local produce we can purchase here! Thank you Farmstead Market for bringing real food back to our tables!

With the recent change in management (Feb 2015) my wife and I were worried about the meat dept as we were so happy with the previous quality. We usually split a steak 2-3 times a week and like the 'good stuff'! Compared to Albertsons and Staters the flavor of the Farmsteads steaks was superior, and I had to see if the new butcher dept owner was going to hold up the tradition we had gotten used to. Surprisingly the flavor is better, I really don't know why or where the beef comes from other than it is expensive, grass fed and the best flavor and most tender we have ever bought and cooked at home. We always cook the meat little less than medium rare, with the same BBQ with the same Santa Maria Style seasoning mashed into both side with a little EXTRA salt just to make sure we keep our blood pressure up haha. But the new beef is fantastic! if you demand high quality, healthy red meat, we have never tasted anything this good. David

I loved this place. A big market with a wide range of healthy, organic, specialty, and just plain tasty products. Unfortunately, at this point, one always pays more for healthy and organic so our bill was a bit high. But for some products, it is definitely worth it. I'm willing to pay more (and just eat less meat) for free-range and hormone-free meat. We were happy with the taste and quality of all the products we bought. (With one exception that is not the fault of the store: I bought an expensive non-aluminum deodorant--Jason--hoping it would be better than non-alum deodorants were years ago, but they are still sticky! Ew, looks like I'm stuck with aluminum for the time being.) The store is also very visually appealing and offers a fun shopping experience. They have a snack bar outside with healthier than usual options.

nice clean store, interesting things like the budda hands vegetables which i have never seen before. Got their julian apple pie on sale but had to go elsewhere to buy milk ice cream. will be back for their savory veggie cream cheese cake spreads which look fabulous for entertaining. pizza slices looked good too. good selction of organic and gluten free, great place to pick up stuff for entertaining but yes do look at the expiration dates of many things seem to be getting past their due date which happens even at vons by the way.

They might have great meats and things behind the counter in cases but the last 3-4 times I've been in here the employees seem too busy doing their "jobs" to help me out. And it wasn't busy (at least not in the sense that they were many customers in the market). I find myself standing around looking into the cases at meats and things waiting for someone to help me out while employees huddle up in the back "working" and talking with each other. Hey guys you wont have any "work" to do when no one comes back. I like the market (hence I've been back several times to try it again) but don't want to waste much more of my time when I have to just leave my basket and walk out only to go to another market/grocery store for what I need. Fix this.

  • Cal F.

Sorry, turn around experience with this so-called Farmstead Market. They play the same game Roots (old name Sprouts) does, they raise prices instantly hoping you will not notice. And the owner is not a man of his word, which turns me off on spending my hard earned money at Farmstead. We placed an order for a party I am catering and was never called back, bad business. But the product I wanted was there on their selves, with a 20% price increase !!!!!!!! Apparently I said too many good things about the product and owner man saw dollar signs and not a weekly loyal customer. I knew I should have waited three times to judge a place, and this was my third time - AND LAST.

THE WORST DELI DEPARTMENT SERVICE EVER!!! The ladies in the deli department are THE LEAST HELPFUL & NOT FRIENDLY. They never smile or go out of their way to try to assist customers. They don't even acknowledge customers when they are standing there waiting to be helped. They just totally ignore you. They are very lazy & need to be trained how to provide good customer service!

  • Benjamin S.

Great market!!! It is the most quaint and enjoyable small business market I've been too. I've been up north and enjoyed all the these styles of markets up there, but I never expected Southern California to branch out of its cookie cutter market system. They make amazing sandwiches and juices and the steak I had from there was one of the best. Plus all of the staff is really nice and enjoyable. And after buying a full cart of groceries I compared the price to what I would have paid at Ralfs and there was hardly a difference other than much higher quality food. The Farmstead market deserves every star and if you live in Murrieta and haven't been I highly recommend doing so, even if it's just to look around.

Love this place! Found my quick in and out for seafood, steaks, locally grown produce, smoothies after morning workouts and all my deli needs. Anyone giving less than 5 stars probably fell and hit their head while showering.

Farmstead Market supplies us with some of the best local produce possible. As difficult as it is to consistently source good product, Farmstead remains a top performer. Their selection is fresh with many seasonal, regional offerings just harvested. For that reason alone, I continue to shop here. The future is bright as this small operation continues to unfold. Support local farmers by supporting Farmstead Market.

  • Jesse H.

I support local farmers, so this place is perfect! Always fresh, clean and the foods are so good! They have a wide variety of fruits, vegetables, meats and cheeses! The customer service is also awesome! Everyone is helpful and friendly! I love the savings on organic honey, watermelon and apples!

A very nice family owned grocery store with a great variety of hard to find natural healthy food for those looking for organic, gluten-free and vegan products. The Deli and the coffee/juice bar are GREAT. The smoothies and the coffee are sublime. The outdoor patio sitting area makes a really nice spot for lunch. I am glad I ignored the bad reviews... Check it out yourself.

Love farmstead! Great juice bar. Tried the passion tea last time! Two thumbs up. The best ribeye I have ever had. Delicious inexpensive wine choices. The sandwichs and salads in the deli are delicious and fresh. I love there yummy cheese choices. My friends and I always have a great time on the patio! What a great place.

Just stopped in here for the first time this weekend, and I was impressed. I had heard that some of their prices are pretty steep, which I would agree on some of the items. The ones I'm referring to are ones you can find at any store, not a specialty store such as this one. Their deli area, is awesome. We ordered a sandwich to eat, and it was great. I really wish we would of tried one of the sides because those looked great too! They also have a juice/coffee bar outside, pretty good. We will go back if we are looking at good items for a picnic and want to make it quick.

I was so sad to have such a bad experience at such a nice store. The reason I am giving 2 stars is because I like the look, feel and selection in the market. However, the management is HORRIBLE! I stopped in quickly for about 6 things, one of which was sandwich meat. I was excited that I could get fresh cut meat from their little deli section. I walked up and there was a woman cutting tomatoes behind the counter. She had a hat on and couldn't see me from any angle. She did not look up or look around at any time. After she was done, she took what she has sliced to another person working. There were no customers around, I so assume they were making themselves food. She never greeted me or acknowledge me standing there. Another woman walked from across the store and behind the counter. She asked if I had been helped "no" and took my order. I asked for .5 pounds, sliced thinly. There were three slicers but she just stood there watching the original lady deep clean the one machine. Once she was done, she gave me .78 lbs of thick sliced meat. I thought I was home free, after waiting over 10 minutes for some poorly sliced meat. Guess again. I walked over to the register and there was a group standing there and the only employee was on the phone. After getting off the phone, she apologized that it was the manager on the phone. [Mind you, I saw at least 5 employees there, and not a single one of them actually working.] Another woman came over and both of our groups finally got rang up. The staff is very cold, dismissive and uncaring. This would be my favorite, go to shop, if they had decent management that would actually train their staff about customer service. I'm done with my rant. Moral of the story, if you want some tasty treats, don't expect good service and give yourself 20 more minutes then you would at any other store. I pray that the owners and managers heed all of these Yelp reviews and turn things around before they go out of business.

    (2)
  • Steven J.

The place is fine. But I saw a beer section for local beer and it wasn't even filled with local beers. The beers were way too pricey too. Shopped around for a while and found some decent things. But not really anything that Barons does not already have. For the price the place isn't worth it. Not a bad store by any means but don't really know why i would go back there.

Great little local market! The owner takes a lot of pride in the quality and variety of the foods he sells, and is very open with his customers inquiring what they would like to see stocked there. I've read the few bad reviews on this place, and frankly, I couldn't see the validity in the complaints. I've stopped in to The Farmstead quite a few times, and have always been impressed by the friendliness of the staff, their positive approach to customer service, and their willingness to go above and beyond to make sure you're happy with what you've purchased. No,they don't have ALL of my favorite labels of wine; but the owner, Craig Schleuniger, asked me what they were, wrote them down, and is going to try to carry them. We discussed different kinds of cheese, and I couldn't recall the brand I'd had; he had his deli clerk start opening packages to sample them to find just the right one; which he did with me! I've never found a store owner this pleasant and helpful (by the way, the cheese is a Comte St. Antoine which is superb, along with a Dutch Vermeer that is equally tasty; especially paired with a barrel fermented Chardonnay; and he carries some top labels!). Lots of hard to find brands, natural and organic foods and dairy; and stands behind his products! Great owner, great staff, and wonderful little market! Stop in and give it a try; sip some flavored tea on the patio, and have a fresh deli sandwich made while you wait. Enjoy your five stars, Farmstead Market; you deserve every one!

Expensive produce is Expensive. I can grow my own produce by buying packets of vegetable seeds for only a dollar and having a lot of patience. The cashiers and other workers are inexperience.

  • Amanda B.

If I could give this place more stars I would! We've been going here for a few weeks now and we love it. The meat is great quality, they offer hormone free, antibiotic free, grass feed, etc. All the things you expect from your meats. They also have a farm a couple miles away that provides a big majority of there produce plus some veggies growing outside. What really makes us a devoted customer is one of the owners Craig. He was in the store and approached us at the cheese counter giving us some suggestions of his favorites, and stealing us away from the lesser. Then we meet up with his again in produce where he offered to have our kids pick and clean some red romaine lettuce! Our kids can't wait to eat it! It's always a really great experience.

Never knew this place was here if it were not for the coupon book they send you in the mail that I just happened to filp through one day. Took out the coupon drove all the way here went shopping a bit. Went to the register tried to hand the coupon with my purchase to the lady 3 times. Ok she does want to take it. I placed it on a food item. She swipped all the food items and left the coupon on the counter. She told me the total and I just stared at her till she figured it out that she still had yet to take off the coupon. That was pretty rude and I was annoyed. As I was leaving I ordered a juice from the window outside. The girl made it and it sat in her window for about 5 min instead of letting me know she was finished only to go talk on her phone or text. I dont know. Prob wont be back because roots, henrys and the farmers market are pretty much all I need

    (3)
  • Teresa C.

They still don't take coupons. You can't get cash back on debit cards. The juice/coffee bar is currently closed due to all of the employees that work it walking out. They are outside with other former employees picketing the store for unfair labor practices. Sounds like maybe the store isn't so "community" oriented after all. Considering that they have only been open since November 2012 and they already have several unhappy employees, or should I say former employees. No wonder that the parking lot is always empty....

    (1)
  • Christopher M.

Let me start with the good: nice employees and attractive space. The not-so-good: Prices. This is NOT a cheap place and that's OK, but I don't see me shopping here for our staples. I was looking for yeast for baking and they only have one brand that they sell per packet for over $1.00. The deli items looked interesting, but again...the markup on some of these items must be ASTRONOMICAL...I mean how much can tempeh really cost? I get it, it's a health food store and organic blah blah so automatically add $10 "healthy tax" but it makes it really hard for a middle-income family to make this a staple of their food shopping routine.

I really was looking forward to the store being a part of my "local" shopping. Unfortunatley, this place is like a smaller Sprouts, Henrys and Barons, which we already have in the area. What alot of us thought it was going to be was a place that sold local products, like a "farmers market," but open every day of the week. Local cheese maker, local bakery, local produce, local meats and local seafood. The seafood is the biggest disappointment, because I thought we would finally be getting local seafood from the region, but the seafood department is very small. I asked the other day where their shrimp was from and they told me it is from India. That is not local! I do not mind paying more if the products were actually all from local farms and artisans, but only a small percentage of the store actually sells local products.

I really just come here for the juice bar outside! Fresh and convenient... However, I wish the juice bar stayed open later :( I ate at the deli inside once and wasn't very pleased with the quality of food or service.

They caved!!!! I was so happy to hear murrieta (closer to home) was getting an organic market. Unfortunately their prices were so high that they didn't start off so well attracting the locals.... But my family and I would walk the dogs here in the morning and enjoy a juice or coffee with a baked good. I'm sad to report that they now have gone soooo conventional with their products. Hardly any organic produce and their breakfast and lunch preparation went into the refrigerator window instead of having the deli make it fresh for you. What happened!!! I think they are trying hard in all the wrong places.

Here's the problem with Farmstead Market, the prices are blindingly high. I usually shop at the older vegetable market in town (Plowboys), but am always happy to try new places. If I want super market prices, I'll go to a super market. What saved them from getting a 1 star from me, and why I'm willing to go again, is the off chance they have a special going. My wife hadn't gone yet, and though I told her about the futuristically high prices, she insisted on seeing it for herself. That day that had "purple romaine" for something like fifty cents a head. It wasn't some wilted produce, it was very eye catching and full sized... but as for the rest of what was in the store, like another person mentioned... Trader Joe's is far better, and well worth the extra driving.

So very excited to have an organic, grass fed, local produce market in town. With much anticipation I awaited their opening. And so disappointed with the experience I had the couple of times I visited. The staff was so uneducated on what they where selling I was embarrassed for them. But I continued to shop there hoping that it was just "the new store hiccup s" but that wasnt't the case. On one of my last visit the "butcher" behind the counter gave me a look as if I was the ex that runaway with his bestfriend when I asked about the Salmon. He was so rude I almost apologized to him for wanted to buy steaks for $18 a pound and fish for $23 a pound which was going to probably pay for his salary. I mentioned the rudeness to the cashier and she responded by saying "Oh, thats nothing you should see management". That was my AHA moment, why am I giving my hard earned money to people who do it give a flying corn-fed #&*#. so I decided to never shop here again. Fast forward three months later to today, driving down Jefferson, pretty hungry and conveniently here is this market; they sell sandwiches. Surely by now their employees would of gotten a bit of customer service training. WRONG! Same signature attitude, but this time behind the deli counter, they make you feel like you are bothering them. RUDE no customer service available. Oh and the kicker is, after getting my $7.00 sandwich, I decided to speak to the manager, not to complain but to maybe suggest how her staff could improve in taking care of the people that pay for their wages, I was told the manager was too busy to speak to me. AHA moment found the cancer, but I'm sure is organic and grass-fed. Needless to say I will never shop here again. This time I mean it!

Place looks great. This was my second time in. The first time they were in the beginning stage and couldn't sell anything since they were technically not open. One thing that I did ask about was the beef and whether it was grass fed and got the answer of grass fed but grain finished.

Great little market! Decent selection of organic produce with prices comparable to other organic produce sellers in the area. The meat/seafood selection is great, this is what I purchase most often here. Fish is always very fresh. The deli case and sandwiches and VERY good. Employees are always courteous, have a smile on their faces, and more than helpful. I must say that the prices on some of the packaged foods and frozen foods are quite high. Also, I feel for an organic natural market the dairy selection is poor. No organic milk and I don't think yogurt either. I thinks it's strange that they sell yoplait and other like brands. Overall, not where I do my main shopping but I do go here to get meat/seafood, some produce, and the occasional random item because it's close to my house.

I dropped in the other day because I read the article in Press Enterprise. I was completely underwhelmed. I was disappointed in the prices! The cheeses were so expensive; at least 20-35% more expensive than Trader Joe's. I put a couple of small pieces of the more expensive cheeses in my cart...and a baguette of sourdough ($2.99) and THAT'S ALL. Actually, I ALMOST just left the cart and walked out. I spent $19 on 3 small wedges of cheese and a baguette. I mean, the cheese was good but not worth a return trip. I am definitely a quality over quantity girl but this place was ridiculous. The fish looked great but it was so expensive. The customer service was not very good. I was one of maybe five customers in the entire store. The employees behind the counters didn't say anything to ANYONE. The girl who was checking items was so impersonal. She didn't address me at all. She spoke to the other young girl about her 'digestive problems' from eating bad food the night before. I work in a hospital so it takes a lot for me to get grossed out...but if it had been a different type of person, they would have not been happy. Sad to say but I will not be returning. I'll stick with Trader Joe's, Barrons, and Plowboy's Market....I can't see this market lasting much longer between it's prices and it's substandard customer service.

I'm so happy to finally have a grocery store and deli like this in Murrieta! They really believe in customer satisfaction and go to great lengths to stock the items their individual customers need. I've been a customer from day one. I loved it at first because they had so many healthy options including "gluten free" and "organic." When they seemed to take it all away I was upset, but I also began to give them lists of the products I really needed. They brought them back! Their homemade food is delicious and the people in each department are exceptional! I feel they are almost like family and they know what I'm looking for the minute I walk in. The store has become a daily stop for lunches and it provides everything I need for my dinner possibilities. They have shown me what it must have been like back when neighborhood markets were super friendly and very personalized. Thank you, Farmstead Market, for making my shopping dreams come true!!!

Sad to see the not good reviews for here. I stop on almost daily to get a sandwich or salad for lunch. I love their selection of "daily made" items in the deli case! Everything is fresh & delicious. Everyone there has always been really nice & friendly to me...I love it here & hope they continue to do well!! Highly recommend!

I have been here 4-5 times. Bought something only once. I was hoping for what it is, but at a more local cost. This is not Napa, the prices should be more local. Good luck.

I'm wondering how many chances I'm going to give this place. They're so convenient but, they are not friendly, no one knows anything. down to when will you have tomatoes."Ah, I don't know" This place is a joke. Fire the whole staff and teach your employees customer service. Seriously, they don't have one good review." Farmstead Market when are you going to get your act together. "

I was really excited to check this place out. I have driven by a few times and it looks promising from the outside. Well, looks can be deceiving. I thought it would offer more produce from local farms, I was wrong. What little they did offer was really overpriced. Another thing that annoyed me was the service. When I was being checked out I told the cashier that all their herbs were labeled "sage" when in fact they were rosemary, mint, etc. Her comment was "oh yea, we noticed that this morning". Hello, show some initiative and fix them. Instead, she just began to tell the other cashier about whomever marked them wrong and proceeded to joke about it. I really don't see myself stopping here again. I'll stick with Henry's, even though it's a little bit farther to drive.

Glad to have a cute little place up the street. Has great things you cant find at a grocery store. Its kinda like a mini toms farms. Thanks for having my cheese and voss glass water!!! Its pricey but its still cheaper than driving all the way to corona for specific items

I read about their farm to market produce and happened to be nearby and stopped in. The prices were high but I appreciated the good selection of organics and all the various meat/cheese/fish/deli counters. Like another reviewer said, it did feel like a smaller version of Henry's. The employees were helpful and friendly. but it's not convenient for me to come here. I might just have to come back though and try a sandwich at the deli, those looked tasty!!

They have a really decent cheese selection and gladly put in a special order the random cheese my friend was searching for. Heirloom tomatoes were ridiculously cheap the other day, they carry a better variety of hard-to-find fresh mushrooms than anywhere else in the surrounding area, and they have fresh raw oysters. I agree with other reviewers that much of their shelf-stocked items are way overpriced, but the items that I tend to shop for while I'm there are always fresh, tasty, and reasonable.

This is such a cute store! Some of the stuff is overpriced but I don't mind paying a little more to help a small family owned store stay in business. I think this place is amazing! My daughter and I watched them pick the lettuce from the backyard garden. We watched them wash it and then put it straight on the shelf. You can't get any fresher than that! And it was only $1. We had a questions about the garden and asked the guy picking the lettuce he said let me get my dad for you. His dad was the owner and so extremely nice! He talked with us and answered all of our questions about our home garden for like 20 minutes. It's so nice to know there is still such nice helpful people out there. We got a smoothie from the front and sat in the back relaxing under a huge olive tree. It is an amazing store and I hope stay in business for a very long time!

I just loved the whole concept and set up of this market. Nice little coffee-smoothie bar outside to the right of the entrance, haven't tasted any as yet though. Maybe they could put out some samples to lure me in. The patio area on the opposite side looks inviting, there's lots of raised planters with newly planted stuff and a beautiful outdoor fireplace at one end. Their deli made my day, finally a place to buy good quality, healthy deli meats in this area, oh how I've missed having deli meat at home to make a sandwich since moving here. I also got some of their pre-made items, the broccoli salad is delicious, so was the little sample of their cheesecake that I tried. Some of the sandwiches on their deli menu sounded amazing and I'm looking forward to trying them. The only staple items I got were organic eggs and a bag of oat flour and they were a bit more pricey than other places. But I LOVE all the local organic produce they have here. I was driving kind of far to buy a lot of that stuff. All in all I'll be stopping here quite a bit for their deli and the produce. I hope to find more to like each time I visit here.

Some of the things we enjoy about Farmstead is that it is local, and has a great selection of organic produce and other non conventional products that are hard to come by. The meat in the deli is also great because it is fresh and grass fed/all natural, their chuck roast is phenomenal for making pot roast! We also enjoy the juice bar but I have found out that it is better for me to make my own custom juice rather then choosing the ones on their menu. Their staff is also really friendly and helpful and I think its great that they have a farm nearby as well as growing produce on the same property as the store. Other than this, as mentioned by other reviewers some of the prices on items are very high, and can be found cheaper at Sprouts and other places. In all, we are satisfied with Farmstead but some of the things there can be hard to come by if your on a budget

This place is awesome! The coffee/juice bar is the best!!! The red head in there can really juice it up!! The place is always clean and the employees I encountered were very helpful and courteous! The prices are a bit high but you get what you pay for! Good stuff!

I went here expecting healthy products at reasonable prices. After 5 minutes of pushing a shopping cart, I was in shock. Prices were astronomical! There were about 15 employees all talking to each other and not one greeted me or asked if I needed help. The customers that were in the store seemed to have the same sticker shock I had. Store was clean and selection of meats, cheeses, and hot food was good. I just could not get over prices. I'm sure there is a niche market but not many middle class families with kids could afford to shop here on a regular basis. I hope they succeed but realistically they will probably be out of business in 6-months. Business model for neighborhood not sustainable.

I was so excited to finally have a chance to check out this store. I attempted to go on their original opening date but they were delayed. I walked in and was welcomed by a gentleman in the produce section. He was extremely helpful and very kind. I was disappointed that they did not have a wider selection. Don't think I will be back for produce. Sticking to Henry's for that. It was very pricey too. I then went to the deli counter.... and picked up a ham and swiss sandwich and a salad for my side and it was very delicious. Again, a little pricey but for a once in a while treat it was great! The lady that helped me was very nice. She offered me a sample. All of the employees were very helpful and all said good morning. So overall, I gave it 4 stars for their customers service but the prices are a little much to go all the time. I want to support local businesses and I hope from their previous reviews they will make some changes because I would hate to see this place not make it! Good luck!

I love this store! It's a community market and I have found that they really want to be part of the community. I don't find the prices to be unfair. The quality is a lot better than Winco or Food 4 Less and I have a feeling that the people that are complaining about pricing are not comparing the quality. I love the great selection of beer and wine and cheese. I also really like the eating area that they have out back- and you can buy a beer from the cooler and drink it on the back patio with a sandwich. Yum. My only suggestion is being clearer about where the line is at to check out. I wasn't the on,y one that seemed confused about where to stand. I will be spending money at this market again! Love it!

Finally a health food store we can actually rely on in Murrieta. Located in a prime spot off the 15 freeway (Kalmia Ave and Jefferson), it is my new favorite stop for something as simple as milk. We went in on Friday to do a little shopping, spoke to some of the VERY KNOWLEDGEABLE employees. I would have thought they were going to be new to everything in the store and not know a single thing about health products, organic foods, the right cheese with the right wine or meatloaf....we spoke to a lot of the employees (Adam, the cheese man - gave us more 101 on cheese than we could have imagined to do with and Casey, who gave us a wealth of knowledge on vitamins). Its a BRAND NEW STORE - they still are getting some things in. Can't wait for summer next year when we can actually sit outside and enjoy a nice cup of tea or a smoothie. They have a great selection of wines and beer. Do not sell hard liquor. One word - pricey. They are a bit pricey on their products - however, you are not getting cheap stuff. You are getting organic. Buying laundry detergent? Its all natural ingredients, not the processed stuff, its pricey. But if you are all for vegan, gluten free, natural ingredients, etc....this is the place to shop!

I eat here at least once per week. Everything I've eaten there was fresh, and the staff is very helpful. So much so that they told me every ingredient in the dressing that was used on the cucumber salad on my last visit. The fish and meat sections have great selection, and all the veggies (both organic, and non-organic) have been delicious. I haven't had a negative experience yet, and I've been there more than 50 times. Enjoy!
