This place is by far the best fro-yo in the bay. All of their flavors taste like the way they should (strawberry tastes like strawberry...). It's kind of pathetic, but there are plenty of fro-yo joints out there that serves some nasty tasting stuff. I had the original tart, mango, strawberry, mango, and pomegranite. They all tasted great. I was especially pleased with the mango because it tasted really close to the real fruit. It was nice that their fruit toppings were fresh and not discolored or bruised too. Over all the place is awesome! go get some.

This is a self-serve froyo place and you get charged by weight. After trying different flavors, I would recommend mango, taro and pomegranate. Yet, I find the texture rather watery. I guess I'd stick to my McDonald's hot fudge sundae when I am shopping at Great Mall next time.

I love the pomegranate & mango & original flavors here. Price is fair (I think 40 something cents an ounce?). I had also picked up a $20 gift card for $15 from them during the holidays because I love this place enough to spend $20 here and I like that overall it helps me save $5. I am usually at the mall during regular work hours on weekdays, so I don't encounter any crowds like other yelpers have complained of.

I'm so glad I came here! After roaming around the Great Mall, I was growing rather hungry and tired. This place is comparable to Yogurtland, and I love Yogurtland for their wide range of yogurts and toppings! I think their price was 37cents/ oz. which is pretty similar to Yogurtland's prices as well. Definitely check it out when you need a quick, healthy break from your shopping adventure!

I don't like these frozen yogurt places but tried this one with the family and it was surprisingly refreshing. They had a lot of different flavors and offered your standard toppings. Good to get while taking a break from doing the mall thing. FYI : no seating, it's just get your frozen yogurt and go. 3.5 stars.

People seem to flock over here regardless of the low ratings it's received. You could always go to TCBY in the food court, but how can you resist self serve froyo? OT does have a few cons. The place itself is small, so it's always likely for a line to build and go around. And the yogurt dispensers could be spaced out better. Despite the tiny location, they have 12 kinds of yogurt, with the option to swirl the two flavors that are featured in each of the 6 dispenser stations. They also have a good variety of toppings. I had a combo of original tart and green tea with mango and mochi. Actually liked the green tea better than the tart. Couldn't babysit this for too long otherwise it would have materialized into froyo soup. Sub-par yogurt for a somewhat reasonable price. Yep, OT is definitely a-ok.

this froyo place deserves two thumbs down!! i tried mango, strawberry and peach, none of the flavors taste like what they are suppose to be. the only exciting parts are the toppings. HOW SAD.... don't even bother with trying sample, because the worker has to follow you around with the sample cups. the worker was totally annoyed at all the customers asking for samples and she didn't even bother to hide it. later on she had to serve samples on a tray, and that probably just made her day worst. she had her arms crossed while holding the tray and rolling her eyes. so ...flavorless froyo and angry looking worker...i think i'll pass!

  • Daniel B.

They serve low-fat frozen yogurt. They will let you sample as many flavors as you want if you're not sure which one you want. You will pay by the weight of your yogurt and toppings. I believe it is $0.38 per ounce. I can usually get two cups with yogurt and toppings of my choice for two people for under $5.

I'm a sucker for self serve places. This store is small and can get very crowded, but it's a good place to get frozen yogurt if you're already at the Great Mall. Their selection is limited but they have some good flavors. I usually get the cheesecake, strawberry, or cookies & cream.

    (4)
  • Dhiti N.

Taking one star away for their price. My yogurt cost $7 once !!! I love their mango flavor and would sample others when I get a chance next. They have an amazing variety of fresh fruit and other toppings. I love my mango yogurt with fresh fruits and nothing else ! The taste is out of this world. Much better quality and taste ..compared to TCBY

I am a fan of the cookies and cream yogurt. I don't like any of the other flavors that I have tried other than the cookies and cream which is so good with chocolate syrup and almonds...mmm good :)

I like this place a lot because this is a first frozo place in the Mall..I love frozen yogurt a lot and every time I crave about it, I have to drive either Yogurt Twist or Frozo place in Santa Clara..long drive and gas pice is high...so when this place opened, I'm so excited because I work in the Mall and so convince to me, also it's a good exercise and i don't have spend any money for gas... The store has a good ambiance because the bright and fun color... they have 12 flavor of yogurt and change the flavor from time to time, so that make me excited every time try out a new flavor...the fruit topping is the best...i love their topping and it's healthy, also the staff provide a good nutrition information about their yogurt and i feel safe to eat and guilt-free too... the staffs are friendly especially there is an Asian girl named Ngoc..she has a pretty smile and helpful...and she knows how to engage to the customers...it can understand sometime the workers are in bad mood because the place a bit tiny, and so many demanding from other customers...I had stayed in there for 30 mins to wait for my friends getting their yogurt and got experience that some customers didn't appreciate the staffs' service, they embarrassed by giving the wrong comments, also when they asked for the sample, they raised their voice...that was annoying me because if they are in the shoes of these staffs, they will understand when so many customers asked for sample at the same time, some customers were farting and some of customers smelled stink...and I could feel these workers got attacking by customers, and it's understandable why they can be uneasy sometime...overall I think the staffs are great and friendly because I put my point of view as a customer also a worker who is working in the Mall.. I hope the customers who come can understand these workers a bit more Overall for the review, i gave them 5 stars because every single person in there deserve a best comment, and everything in there are great...I love this place...

when i first found out this place in the mall, i thought it would be really great to have a yogurt in the mall. i went inside with my brother and my mom. we all wanted to eat frozen yogurt. we grabed the cups and started filling in our cups. seriously, the machine totally SUCKS compare to the other frozen yogurt place. when i was pulling downward the handle, the yogurt became mushy. since it turn like that, i decided to pick out other flavors and still machine totally SUCKS! there wasn't much flavors to choose. i decide to pay for my own cup and when i look at the sign, it was actually 38 cents for ONE OUNCE!!! that is 8 more cents compare to others. when i'm back in Great mall, i wouldn't perfer to pick this place for yogurt to munch. i would rather pick yogurt twist.

i found a women to work here to be rude, well inline i noticed the lady at the counter explaining to the person infront of me about a card she didnt ask about , she just told her. the person wasnt intrested paid and left, when it was my turn i asked because well she didnt tell me the lady looked at me and just said it was nothing and told me to pay. very rude she looked Filipino, rudest place ever... the froyo was good but service is what counts it made me not want to go there again

Got a sample as I passed on my way to the food court and I really liked it. So went back to it after lunch (I was yearning for something a bit lighter than a cinnabon). I grabbed a cup and got in line. The line went pretty fast and i put a whole bunch of different flavors into my cup because I have never been here before. There were alot to choose from..... very vanilla, double chocolate, strawberry, coconut, Georgia peach, tart original(my now fav), cookies and cream, taro, and more. The were tons of toppings you could choose from including fruit, babo fruit, lychee fruit, and cereal. The were also the usual toppings of sprinkles, m&m's, gummi bears, chcocolate chips and chocolate syrup. I topped mine with gummi bears and sprinkles and put my now overloaded cup on the scale. Around $4.00. Yeah!!!! The yogurt was great but the customer service left something to be desired so I took off a star. But the line did go fast and they have a these cute spoons so i put the star back. Get some friendly people in there and it will be as good as it gets.

I happened to be at the Great Mall recently, and well, the URGE got the best of me. Which urge, you may be asking? The urge to have something sinful sliding down my throat. That moist feeling in your mouth as you swirl your lips and tongue all over it. The satisfying crunch as your teeth tear into those nuts. MMMMmmmmmm. Whoooa! I guess I just lost a few of the guy Yelpers out there, huh? I was talking about Orange Tree Fro Yo, you pervs. This is one of my fave places to get yummy fro yo at a price that won't break the bank. You'd be hard pressed to spend more than $5 here. That cup (one sized) would have to be overflowing. The flavors change from time to time, but I'm a big fan of the pineapple, matcha green tea, chocolate, and the coconut is very good. Toppings are segregated into two areas near the register. Fruits, boba, wet-type toppings on one side, and cookie, candy. nutty dried stuff to the right. I always do a few healthy fruit choices, but cancel them out when I add chocolate chips, crushed candies and cookies. The staff is friendly and helpful, and the shop is always immaculate and clean. If you're in need of a quickie, stop at Orange Tree for a little moist, sweet goodness. Just be sure to be gentle when putting the nuts in your mouth. 4 outta 5 stars from me. I'm a fan, and will return for more. * Bonus tip - stop at the nearby Ghirardelli chocolate shop for a free sample of chocolate & be sure to check the rear of the store against the back wall for past Holiday items for 1/2 off.

Relatively expensive for frozen yogurt but then again your at a shopping mall. The staff was a little rude and nonverbal until I pulled out my Prada wallet. Usually won't mention that superficial detail but it's important to note that a stupid material will dictate customer service. Very disgusting. I'm huge on customer service, fail at that and no matter how good the dish is or the object I will be very unhappy. Please treat all with respect and equality regardless of what they have or look.

The pistachio flavor tasted fake--which was exactly what I wanted. I liked it. The mango flavor overpowered it. I liked this even more. All of the other flavors don't taste like anything. Half the machines do not work. The interior was stuffy and warm. The toppings looked old and about ready to melt especially the bananas. The service was courteous but understaffed. There was no way the cashier was able to keep the machines operating and the front register attended at the same time. I felt bad for him and wanted to help out.

This is a typical froyo only shop. Self serve and feed you inner fatty toppings! Pretty busy and the froyo dispensing station was messy when we were there. With their 12 flavors to choose from I ended up with the Guava. No regrets! It was very good and the guava flavor was strong enough to turn me into a fan:)

  • Jessica T.

It's better than I expected, but the name is what kept me away from this place. It's located inside great mall near the food court. It's not that bad, but my only complaint is how TINY it is!!! I advise to wait until the line dies down for claustrophobic/germaphobic people. They have pink/red guava (whatever you want to call it) flavor and that's one of my favorite tropical fruits. decent selection, more for a person with a sweet tooth plus popping boba. The girls are nice, but the uniforms are tacky.

  • Jeanette N.

My yogurt was a bit on the liquid side. The heat did not help. Although it is hot to get customers to buy more, the yogurt melts a lot faster. The song choices are great and the workers are friendly though.

C'mon people. IT'S SELF SERVE YOGURT WHAT DO YOU EXPECT. I don't understand why this place has such bad reviews because it's really not a bad place at all. YES it's small but you should not being rating places one star just on that fact. I have been a patron here for about 3 years and every time I come in, I always get the original with some fruits and the colorful gummy bears. It's perfect every time. The fruits are always fresh but sweetness really depends on whether the fruit is in season or not. Yes, it seems a little understaffed because on weekends the place is filled with people but as a food service worker, I can tell that the employees try their best to get the line moving. They work quickly and efficiently. I witness people abusing the fact that there are so many people in the store and they make big messes! I also see people reusing the sample cups which is DISGUSTING. SAMPLE CUPS ARE FOR SAMPLING ONCE. It's gross that people don't know what cross contamination is. I also see negligent parents who don't supervise their children and let them put their fingers in everything. I was in line one time and this boy decided to touch the sprinkles. The girl working immediately replaced the contaminated sprinkles. In my opinion, it's not a bad place, it's the overwhelming amount of inconsiderate customers that make things unpleasant.

My favourite fro-yo chain in the bay area .. Unlike others, this chain serves a perfectly creamy textured fro-yo also well-balanced in sweetness. My staple there is the taro flavour..its subtle tone of taro is no match to any other fro-yo. They used to have the chocolate dipped waffle cones sometime ago..i dont see them now-a-days.

  • Pam W.

This place has all my favorite flavors and toppings, how can I not be a fan? Lychee + lychee boba = delish! I would like to note that the french vanilla came out with an orange/yellow tint so that is a little strange. But I will just avoid that next time. Will most definitely drop by again when I am at Great Mall! :)

This is how a perfectly good day can be ruined completely !! I had a great time shopping at the great mall with my parents and kids till we decided to drop in at this Orange Tree outlet. First of all, the two girls who work here think they are 'God's Gift to Mankind' !! They were so RUDE and INSENSITIVE that I still cant get over what they did !! 1) We walked in at 9:20 p.m. and they certainly weren't happy as they close at 9:30 p.m. Haven't seen anyone so desperate to go home ! But, people eat FROYO after dinner right... Its an enjoyable experience to be shared with your family and not have people scorning at you... 2) I tried to be polite and asked them if it was their closing time, to which they replied rudely in 4 minutes ... !! 3) So we hurry up and choose our flavor....One of the girls starts to mop the floor while we take our flavor.. That's when my 4 year old toddler goes to get his flavor and slips and falls on the dripping wet floor ... Can you believe what that girl does ???? She does not help him... She does not say sorry nor she asks if he got hurt ..... I run to help my son get up and when we turn, she is making a face which says you dirtied the floor and I have to mop again !!! 4) Then we get the froyo weighed quickly as we want to get out of that place...In our hurry we forget the toppings... So when I pay and give my son the froyo, he asks for the colorful topping. In fact he bought the froyo for the topping... So I asked the cashier to give me the topping.... She says you can put the topping only before weighing...So I say okay, then let me add the topping and weigh it again....She says, I have closed the cash register ! I say I am prepared to pay...my child really wants that topping...Its only one topping....She says sorry cash register is closed... My son has started crying now with tears rolling down his cheeks as he really wants that topping... In a desperate attempt I ask her if I can take some in the teeny tiny sample cup for him and she says these cups are only for the froyo !! Can you Believe it !!! my son is crying, he is only a 4 year old...but these women do not have a heart !! The froyo is good but having a froyo is a not just about the product...Its about the whole family experience of sharing your ice cream and ending your day on a good note.... Those two girls were so INSENSITIVE... my son was crying for a long time even after we left that shop and I kept wondering if it was so difficult for the cashier to make my son happy with a little topping.... It wouldn't have cost them much...it was the colorful confetti style topping... But they just didn't want to do it.... They kept saying its the system.... Are the systems so inflexible ?? I read a previous review also complaining about the girls who work there...Must be the same girls...Wonder why they haven't been fired yet !! Disappointed and Disturbed..... The froyo costed me more than the price... Am unable to sleep today .... cant forget how my son cried while eating his desert... never happened to me before .... :(

this place is alright, nothing special about their frozen yogurt. except they do have one of my favorite flavors, after trying A LOT of different places this place is the only one that has TARO every time I grave for some. I hate how other places keep changing their flavors, I understand that they need to keep the variety wide but I also think if the costumers aren't complaining then there's no reason to replace flavors. To come and think of it, we are the one paying for their business to continue. So, with that said, I'm a costumer that will continue coming here unless they stop making Taro.

Located next to the food court in the great mall you will find this teeny tiny fro-yo spot. I almost walked right by because it was so small! They have two sizes of cups, large, and extra large. The cost per ounce is a bit more than other places in the south bay, but I guess that is expected due to the mall location. The flavors they had included: mango, strawberry lemonade, tart (organic?), watermelon sorbet, taro, vanilla, chocolate, red velvet, strawberry, banana, pineapple and a few others. I went straight to my usual tart and added strawberry lemonade and watermelon sorbet. The strawberry lemonade was the best and the tart was odd tasting. One of their machines got stuck while I was filling up and it wouldn't stop, that kind of sucked because I ended up paying for it. I didn't get any toppings but they were very typical, nothing unusual or unique. They also well waffle bowls but were out the day!

Not bad. Alright, probably only go here again if I ever run into the same situation two days ago: meeting up with an old friend and just talking. (: I wish the taro wasn't out though..

***3.5 stars*** the sole froyo-only shoppe in milpitas mall (the others have a hybrid of froyo & ice cream), which explains why it is so popular and always has long lines inside the small storefront. they had 12 flavours available: *dutch chocolate *fancy french vanilla *island banana *pomegranate *organic original tart *taro *pineapple express *very strawberry - this had a whipped, creamy consistency, with strawberry seeds mixed in. definitely tasted very strawberry, and very delicious. my favourite flavour! *peach mango explosion - this was creamy and rich, definitely exploding with the taste of peach and mango. *polynesian coconut - creamy and coconutty, but i failed to taste the exotic polynesian flavour. it tasted like regular coconut. *pineapple guava explosion - tart and tangy, exploding with guava flavour, but not so much with pineapple. *alfonso mango - thick and creamy, with a very strong and tasty mango flavour. my 2nd favourite. at $.39/oz, this is in the low-moderate price range for self-serve frozen yogourt. my complaints about this place: *the sample cups are stored inside the staff's apron pocket, which does make me wonder about the cleanliness of the cups. i would have preferred the cups be sitting on the counter, instead of being taken out of someone's pocket. *the store is tiny, only enough space for the froyo machines, toppings bar, cashier, and froyo cup stand. there is no seating inside, so if you want seating, you have to go to the main food court seating area, which is generally packed. i would return, as they have great yogourt flavours which are solid and taste great.

After shopping around, i got hungry for a snack so we decided to wander around the food court - i decided on a cinnamon roll but i saw DOZENS (literally) of people carrying around this huge froyo cup that i only later found out to be from this shop. No yelping or anything, just led by intrigue, i waltzed in. They were giving out samplers, and although I am usually a fan of chocolately flavors, the lychee and mango were fruity and delightful. My dad got some of the lychee, which tasted great alone as is - no toppings. I'll def come back for the chocolate, but for now, 3 stars!

Alright - This rating is solely based on the SERVICE and not their froyo/toppings. As for their froyo/toppings, they have a decent amount of froyo flavors to choose time, I think at least 8 different flavors, it's creamy but it melts really fast. They have a good handful of toppings too. Nothing too amazing...it's an average froyo place, but it's not a place to chill there's no place to sit. OK, NOW BACK TO THE 1 STAR I HAVE GIVEN BECAUSE OF THEIR HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE SERVICE. (I would've given zero stars if that was an option.) So you might ask, it's a self serve froyo place...where's the service? Exactly, it's a self serve place, they don't have much service to offer me but for the LITTLE WORK THEY HAVE TO DO THEY SUCKED AT IT. 1. So the price for the froyo was no where to be found. There was no big poster that said _ per ounce, no flyer, no nothing when I looked around. I just saw a Justin Beiber concert flyer...aka NOTHING HELPFUL. So I ask the girl whose passing out froyo samples how they calculate the price, SHE LOOKS AT ME AS IF IM STUPID AND REPLIES WITH HELLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLUH ATTITUDE. 2. I asked the same girl if it was alright to try a certain flavor, and SHE ROLLS HER EYES AND PUMPS THE FROYO (her back was towards me), and just throws her arm back (with her back still towards me), and gives me that "are you gonna take it" stance WITH HER BACK STILL TOWARDS ME & her arms are bouncing around or what not. 3. THE CASHIER. GIRLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL, there aren't even that many CUSTOMERS. But this girl is WAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY TOO BUSY TALKING TO HER LITTLE FRIENDS. I weighted my cup of froyo and she just CONTINUED TALKING TO HER FRIENDS and didn't even tell me how much it was, I had to look at the screen myself (which isn't hard, but most decent people say "It's $blah blah.") SHE DIDN'T. And I BASICALLY HAD TO WAVE MY $5 BILL IN HER FACE FOR HER TO ACCEPT IT BECAUSE SHE WAS TOO BUSY TALKING TO HER FRIENDS. WHEN SHE WAS HANDING ME THE CHANGE, SHE DIDN'T EVEN LOOK TO SEE WHERE SHE WAS HANDING IT OFF TO, BECAUSE SHE WAS TOO BUSY LOOKING AT HER FRIENDS AND I WAS TRYING TO PLAY CATCH WITH MY CHANGE. FOR THE LITTLE AMOUNT OF WORK THEY HAVE TO DO, THEY SUCK AT IT. THEY'RE RUDE, THEY GIVE ATTITUDE, THEY PISSED ME OFF SO MUCH THE FROYO WASN'T EVEN ENOUGH TO CHILL ME OUT. Honest? They need to fire these two girls because they were rude as fuck and they weren't even doing shitz. SO IF THE MANAGER READS THIS I WAS THERE TODAY JUNE 12TH, 2012 AROUND 6PM, the cashier girl during that shift was NOT doing their job and was TOO busy socializing & the sample girl just needs an attitude check and manners lesson.

Is everyone blind and have weird taste buds? or is it just me? or do I just come at the worst times ever. I have no comment on the taste of the yogurt, I forget how it tastes. This yogurt is so LEAKY though, I guess some people are okay with leaky yogurt, I mean it's just like frozen yogurt and holding it for 10 minutes and then eating it. It just looks a lot less appetizing when it comes out like water, even though essentially it's the same product. I'm not sure if anyone else sees it as leaky? I was just here 3 days ago with a bunch of friends and it was leaky (around 8:30PM weekday though), sooo, I'm not sure, maybe they were getting ready to close so they didn't want to bring out their freshest product. That and the yogurt is 38cents an ounce! 8 cents an ounce more than my favorite yogurtland! Normally I wouldn't mind, but I won't pay 8 more cents an ounce for a product like that. 2 stars instead of 1 though because it's friendly and a nice atmosphere :). Sorry for giving you such little stars, but you need to fix your product before I come back and update it to 4 stars :)

Can the people that come here get a clue?! Came in after watching a movie with my little ones as froyo sounded like the appropriate sweet treat to top off our evening, and boy, was I mistaken. My idea for a sweet treat trip turned sour seconds within walking in. It's pretty crowded walking into this small store so we manage to squeeze in and get a cup for building our froyo treat. We don't really bother with sample cups at all since we pretty much know how things taste. But some people, are not like me or my little ones where they haven't gotten it that sample cups are just that: 1) SAMPLE CUPS ARE FOR SAMPLING... 2) NOT FILLING UP TO THE TOP SO THAT IT SPILLS OVER YOUR HAND SEVERAL TIMES WITH ALL THE DIFFERENT FLAVORS SO THAT YOU ARE LITERALLY STANDING IN FRONT OF THE MACHINE WITH YOUR 'SAMPLE CUP' EATING YOUR FROZEN YOGURT THAT PROBABLY WOULD HAVE COSTED $2 IF IT WERE IN THE RIGHT SIZED CUP. 3) AND THEN ADD TOPPING TO THAT SAMPLE CUP OF FROYO! My bad, was that all in caps?!?! But that's not it, these people would literally add more froyo to their already full sample cup and scrape it up against the spout so that the spot that they just licked off would touch the would-be cleaner part of the machine contaminating the whole damn thing. DISGUSTING. I'm utterly frustrated that this crap happens. There should be signs in all languages of the world saying that sample cups are for sampling ONLY. Management should be a little more apt at regulating this because it is just nasty how these people were utilizing these little cups. I'm not coming back ever.

This place = WAY BETTER than the Orange Tree in Milpitas Square! Milpitas square's Orange Tree has a funky icy consistency, while the one at Great Mall has a nice creamy texture. Yes, this place gets crowded on weekends, but it's all gravy baby. They sometimes hand out free samples too. COOL.

Avoid if yogurt land is closer! Rude girls run this place. I stood around until the girl behind the counter was done talking to this guy. By the time she rang us up is was melted.

Mango yogurt is one of the best i've had, tart and sweet and mango-like at the same time. Mango 'boba' bursts in your mouth like salmon roe - mango roe indeed. Real mango bites are crunchy, not your usual soft mango.... kiwi is kiwi. Overall worth the experience at 38 cents/oz. LA should open up an Orange Tree Yogurt...

  • Keven W.

I think this place is okay. They have different types of yogurts than the norm. What I like is the lychee balls, fresh fruit and the lychee yogurt. It is a self service shop by the way. The yogurt is very good and yummy. The only complaint is the price. It ended up being $5.03 and I did not really get that much. Other than that I would come here again.

  • Tiffany H.

The line here are always long, maybe it's because I work in the mall on weekends, and so it's always crowded. Even though Orange Tree is always crowded and there's 10+ people ahead of me the line still moves very quickly. Very fast service and the girls who work here are nice too. It's funny how there's only pretty/cute girls working here. I'm good with a plain tart with strawberries and kiwis! Fruits look fresh and there's lots and lots of other toppings to choose from.

Orange Tree is a simple froyo place that serves average frozen yogurt. They offer a decent amount of froyo flavors and toppings. They had dutch chocolate, french vanilla, mango, pomegranate, taro, cheesecake, red velvet, and banana. Some of the toppings were yogurt chips, chocolate chips, wafers, lady fingers, coconut, mochi, sprinkles, oreo cookies, white chocolate, chocolate raisins, and a wide variety of fresh fruit. So I decided to try red velvet and french vanilla froyo with coconut, mochi, chocolate chips, white chocolate, and caramel sauce. The vanilla froyo was very flavorful and delicious. However, the red velvet froyo was sour and tasted nothing like red velvet cake! Since when is red velvet supposed to be sour? My toppings were good but I was dissapointed with the lack of selection and would have hoped for cake or cheesecake pieces. Overall, Orange Tree is a-ok for froyo but lacks selection with their toppings and froyo choices. I would probably not come here again unless I happened to be in the Great Mall and there was not any other froyo places around.

  • Sandra G.

At best, this froyo place is two and a half stars. In a nutshell, the prices aren't the best value, their toppings have little variation (they just have the basics like nuts, fruit, granola, sprinkles, mochi, syrup or something) and overall, the yogurt is OK. I come here whenever I'm at Great Mall because I can't be bothered to drive out to a better place for froyo, I'm rarely that desperate for quality dessert. The location just happens to be convenient, although I think I'm changing my mind about driving out for froyo after today. I got vanilla and banana, and tasted the taro. It seems like all Orange Tree's taro is tarty. However, I call it sour, which I do not like because that's the taste of expired yogurt mix. I don't think taro ANYTHING should ever have a sour taste. Not taro cake, not taro milk, etc. Anyways, the vanilla also had that "tart"/sour taste, but less obvious. But surprisingly the banana was good. Well, in comparison to the vanilla. I believe that if a froyo place can't get vanilla (the most simple flavor that exists!) right, there is no hope.. I have nothing good or bad to say about customer service. The teenage girls are usually aiiiight. Today the cashier was busy chatting/gossiping with her friends behind me while serving the customers in front of me, and I felt like I just wanted to get the hell out of that place!

I love Frozen Yogurt! This place has the best TARO flavor & I loved their muti-colored mochi toppings.

Love their frozen yogurt...love every flavor...everytime. I frequent here often and they do a pretty good job of switching out their flavors. They have a good selection of toppings too. Despite the great yogurt, I had to knock off a star for their service. Some of the cashiers there do NOT pay attention to the line! It gets really crowded in there sometimes, especially on weekends, and [more than once] I've found the cashier casually chatting with friends while the line rolls out the door!

We found this place accidentally while walking around the mall, away from the mall's food court. With my wife tightly holding a cup of TCBY's vanilla froyo shake that she got at the food court and murmuring into my ears, "If I knew that you would come here, I wouldn't have gotten this over there!!!", I decided to venture into this new froyo joint. Aside from yet another fruity-sounding store name, it looked like a pretty standard self-serve froyo shop. There were a dozen different flavors from 6 different dispenser machines tucked in the far-end wall of the shop. After asking for a couple of samples in small cups, I grabbed my cup and dispensed three different flavors of froyo. They were: + Irish Mint + Georgia Peach + Original tart I usually like yogurt's tartness in my froyo, instead of froyo tasting more like watered down ice cream, so, Original Tart tasted pretty good to me. I also enjoyed Georgia Peach and also liked its name. Besides Hot-lanta and the Braves, peach is the only other thing that I can think of about Georgia. Irish Mint was good as well and tasted more fruity (for some reason) than minty. Then, onto the topping stations that were kept very clean and fully stocked.... I loaded my froyo cup with kiwi, strawberry, cantaloupe, mango, and pineapple. All the fruit toppings looked pretty fresh and not mushy. Then, onto the weigh station.... Ka-Ching! $4.66! I asked for the stamp card, and a girl at the cashier quickly encoded my name into a plastic card. Yes, unlike other froyo places that I've been to before, their stamp card is a plastic card like your credit card. The only minor complaint that I have about this place is that there is no chair or table. It is inside the mall, so you can probably find a bench to take a break, though. Good froyo and very friendly and nice staffs. I think this is a nice new addition to the mall.

I never knew this was a franchise, but for a franchise--this is about as good as it gets. First, I have to say that I was extremely surprised to see this place. I was just walking towards the food court looking to satisfy my craving for a pearl drink. And then when I crossed Hat Club, I noticed that there was a shiny, new place right across, and it seemed to be glowing. "Orange Tree Frozen Yogurt." And I was like... WTF! Froyo at a mall?! There goes the neighborhood. The main thing I have to say is this place is really small, but it does its best to emulate your average run-of-the-mill Asian Froyo joint. Some of the flavors include Peach, Original Tart, Cookies N' Cream, Chocolate, Strawberry, Lychee, Taro, and a few others. I ordered some of the peach and tart, and they both were a fine combination. The toppings are what you'd expect. The left side includes Asian-inspired toppings like mochi, coconut gels, and a few random fruity gelatin, and then the right side includes toppings you'd find at just about any place that serves frozen yogurt. The price you pay depends on how much you get. At $0.38 an ounce, it's extremely affordable, but don't go crazy by filling up your cup. That's where they get you. Both the large and regular sized cups are rather big, and if you overfill them, you'll be overspending. With froyo, the best trick is to simply eat all that you're craving for... not for bulk. I'll be back simply because I work in the mall. But the bottom line is that this place is pretty damn good and I can't wait to try all the flavors. And you know what else? They take Visa and Mastercard along with your Debit. That's freakin' rare and awesome. Especially when it's an Asian-owned Froyo joint.

One try and I'm sold! This place's fro-yo are awesome! Love their fruit flavors, they all stand out uniquely and the textures are creamy and smooth. I layered them together and even though I forgot which was which afterwards by looking at them, I could tell exactly by tasting. I tried mango, lychee, guava, promegranate and original, all very good. From the look of the reviews, it seems like they change flavors constantly as well. Also, the fruits toppings are pretty fresh, and they have boba and mochi as well! Price is 38c per oz, not the cheapest. Their reward program is that every purchase greater than $3 will get a stamp and collect 6 stamps you get $3 off the next purchase. I think the stamp card is location specific though, so can't combine Great Mall store's purchase with other locations.

My favorite flavors here are Lychee, Mango, and regular Tart. These flavors have not disappointed. A couple of other ones had 'weak' flavors, which is why it's important to SAMPLE them first. I like their deals on the cards, pay $15 for a $20 card. You also only need to buy 6 yogurts to get 1 free. The only reason I gave them 4 instead of 5 is because their almonds were a little stale, and when I mentioned it to a girl behind the counter, she didn't bother to taste it, she just said, "we just brought them out..." OK, but they're still stale. You need to TASTE it before you deny it.

Came here on July 4 and the line was so long. There were 2 girls at the cashier and just busy of chit chat! Don't understand why don't they open 2 cashier instead of 1. Very slow and my yogurt was melting! Will not come back

I got original tart, pink lemonade, cheesecake, and mango here. The flavor of the original tart was weird tasting and off. Pink lemonade was probably the best flavor I chose, it was sour and not overly sweet. The cheesecake was downright disgusting, it tasted nothing like cheesecake at all. Mango was probably the second best, sweet but not overpowering with a hint of tartness. BUT, the yogurt was really watery and melted super fast. After I paid for my yogurt and sat down right away outside at the food court, my cup was already half soup half yogurt. I will probably come back to this place only if I'm really craving yogurt at great mall.

This place is the first yogurt place which I ventured into without company (per friend's suggestion on phone while I was at Great Mall one day last year). To date it's still the only one as I made my second visit yesterday. I'm mainly a fan of fruit flavors and their promegranate and orange flavors were fulfilling, as well as their original tart. Looks like they have several locations around the South Bay but none around SF. Too bad.

The tart yogurt was pretty good, but the strawberry-kiwi yogurt was a little frozen and did not have a good texture. They have a pretty impressive selection of fruit toppings, and I love the colored mochi and the mango pearls, which were not chewy but were filled with a mango-flavored juice. Pretty good. It's more expensive than Yogurtland or Yogurt Twist, which is $0.35/oz. It was $0.38/oz the last time I was here. I'll probably be back whenever I need something at the Great Mall.

So far I've been here about 3 times because I tried a sample of the Mano flavor and now I'm kinda addicted :-) the girls aren't very attentive or customer service oriented. We went last night (Mon June 17, 2013 @8:30pm) and I had to ask the cashier if there were any punch cards, and she kept texting on her phone and handed me one. Then my mother asked if she could get one as well. She paid right before me, and the girl asked "did you buy a yogurt?" My mom showed her yogurt and said yes I was your last customer before her. So she gave her one. Then I noticed there weren't any lids for the yogurt and I asked if I could get a lid, and she was texting and mumbled, "there over there" with her head down looking at her phone. I told her that there wasn't any there and she looked at me crazy and sucked her teeth and did a big sigh and put some there on the opposite side of where I was and I was right in front of her. Instead of handing me one I had to go over to where they are. Not cool. I love the mango froyo so I'm sad that I may not go back after that non existent customer service :-(

This is a great fro-yo and especially a good location @ the great mall. All the flavors taste like what they should be and they always give samples. I like the lychee, strawberry & of course the chocolate fro-yo! A definite place to come back to...

I tried this place the last time and the yogurt was unsatisfactory. And I came back to give it a second chance... And well... Not so good. The consistency is watery and has a overpowering sour taste. I know yogurt Is supposed to have a slight sour taste but it was so bad that I threw mines away. And Im the type of person who can eat any type of frozen yogurt. The flavors are not true to the taste and the cashier girl today was not even worth mentioning because the yogurt was even worse.

  • Elise G.

Pretty standard frozen yogurt spot with different flavors to choose from and toppings to your liking. Taro and vanilla were a sweet combination. I loved the passion fruit boba. It was like tobiko, minus the fishiness. Instead, it was like a sweet, citric, burst in your mouth. The mochi was soft and chewy, as it should be. The fruit looked fresh, so I got mangos, strawberries, and chocolate drizzled bananas. Note to self: Do not eat this after Boiling Crab.

orange tree is a small brightly lite hole in the wall near the food court. sample cups not evident, had to ask. got one. yes, one sample cup. froyo availability: -vaniilla -cappaccino: delicate cap taste, not developed -strawberry : lite strawberry taste, creamy -dutch chocolate -island bananae : strange taste -orange : not too bad. tasted like a sherbet. -original tart -blueberry : faint fruit taste -cookiies & cream -mango : lite taste -georgia peach :faint peach taste -cheesecake pricing: .38 cents froyo & toppings, 12 wet/fruit toppings including 2 kinds of jellies, 24 dry toppings. nuts, cereals, candies, chocolates and 2 kinds of mochi-kind of chewy not soft. frodrips -stoething froyo machine -;laminated plastic cups -no inside seating. -toppings ample, pricey froyo, other orange tree in the .35 cents range. -lack of tart flavors, froyo not flavorful enough, no doubt syrup enhanced froyo here.

2.5 stars GREAT MANGO flavor but other than that, that was the only flavor I liked. My little brother enjoyed the cookies and cream one (I think that's what it was called). Pretty expensive for what they had and the fruits were cut way too big (some were pretty sour) at least when we went. The consistency was pretty terrible because it kinda melted pretty quickly, mixing all the flavors (which were NOT good together). Not to mention, so many annoying kids and high school kids running around inside the tiny place. UM HELLO... there's a line of people behind me!!

    (3)
  • H M.

Not usually a big fan of frozen yogurt, but this place is sooo good!! I had the cookies and cream - tastes JUST like ice cream but a lil creamier. Throw on some toppings (I like walnuts and choc chips), slam it on the scale, toss them a few coins (it's a very inexpensive treat, for 2 people we paid just over $3), and you're outta there with a yummy dessert! Easy and worth the stop! We will probably indulge every time we are brave enough to fight the crowds at the Great Mall. It eases the splitting headache shopping there gives me.

Frozen Yogurt?! More like MELTING YOGURT! The yogurt is disgusting... it smells and tastes bad. An ice cream cone from McDonalds tastes better than this piece of crap. I have been to the Fremont location and that place was OKAY so I thought it'd be the same, but at this location - 2 THUMBS DOWN! Not many toppings to choose from. The chick who helped me wasn't very helpful... I had to 2 cups of "Frozen Yogurt" and she only "threw" one at me. And dared to ask if I needed "2", well obviously, if I have 2 in front of your face. She also wasn't helpful. She didn't mind to help to put the top on the cups for me and saw that I was struggling. I am not the one to have people do stuff for me, but sheesh, their tops are ridiculous! They don't even close right. BLUSH and FroZo's are near-by... forget this place!

the Mango Yogurt is the best mango yogurt I have eaten in the Bay Area! I have only tried the Mango so far. So my review is based on that single experience. But it was awesome!

  • Bianca L.

I love frozen yogurt and I usually try everyone's original tart. This one was okay, actually I don't really remember. But their Mango yogurt. Now that's good stuff. Sometimes I'll find myself driving through Great Mall when I should be going home, just so I can get my fix of this mango treat. I also like putting real mango pieces on top, it really compliments the mango yogurt. It seems like everyone likes the mango yogurt. So if in doubt, go mango!

OMG THE MANGO IS FLAWLESS!!! its cool when they give out samples and the waffles are a cool new look for fro-yo staff is really moody maybe its cos they work at a yogurt shop finish high school my youngsters theres more to life i promise :)

I wanna give 2.5 stars because for me it's an inbetween of "Meh. I've experienced better," and "A-OK." So I rounded up. Firstly, when I tried to get some mango froyo, it was coming out extremely slow, then just stopped. The girl who worked there said she'd put some in, but even still, it took forever to freeze, and then to come out. Secondly, I tried the lychee boba, which when applied to the froyo, kinda curdles it.. Anyways, when you bite into one, this thick, gooey liquid comes out of it, and let me tell you, I was expecting the most delicious experience (b/c of all the good things I've heard about it), but was grossed out by the conisistency and the weird taste. I'll pass on those next time. If there is a next time... Dun dun dunnn. Lol I'll take a free sample any day though! Haha

  • Doris H.

39 cents per ounce is a pretty good deal. They offer punch cards, so make sure you get that. I liked their lychee flavor. The toppings were not fresh. The strawberries were mushy. The pineapples taste like they were from a can (they probably were). Also, the gummy bear topping was horrible. Could not chew it.

  • Francesca C.

Uh....can someone say the best froyo in the area!?!? Every flavor is sooooooooooo good and creamy. The owner definitely doesn't compromise the quality. I don't really know what else to say but damn I want some Orange Tree right now...

  • Abdul M.

Went here tonight while walking around the mall, it was not bad at all. I had the strawberry yogurt. Only thing that sucked was they don't have lids so you can't pack up what you buy. Other than that it was good They have toppings if you are into that stuff but I like mine plain and boring, just like me :)

  • Tammy V.

I think I've been to all the fro yo places in the bay area and I still like orange tree the most. They're texture doesn't taste watery like some fro yo places I have been to. They almost taste like ice cream but with less calories. A while back they had my favorite flavor which was banana but they rotate their flavors so I had to wait, now they have banana island and i was stoked! Didn't taste as good as banana but it will suffice =) Also, if your a strawberry fan, you'll like the strawberry here, it's yum!

  • jessica h.

This is a nice place. There are a variety of flavors and toppings! Unfortunately, I'm not that into froyo. But ya know, once in a while, it's so yummy. I like the tropical flavors, since they are light and refreshing. Try Mango, Lychee, Strawberry, or Original Tart. Top the fruit w/some lychee jelly, frozen fruit, boba, anything! IT'S SO AWESOME. I like. I like. Oh, did I mention free samples? Guess I didn't. Drop by sometime at the mall, and you'll get the goodies free. I don't eat much though. I get a small cup and fill it about halfway, only 3 bucks.

ORANGE TREE FROZEN YOGURT Yet another entry into the crowded frozen yogurt market in the Bay Area. Located in the Ranch 99 plaza, Orange Tree is a welcome addition to the myriad of pearl tea shops, offering a variety of flavorful frozen yogurts. Orange Tree is a self-serve frozen yogurt joint. You get a cup and fill it up as much as you want and get charged by the ounce. Flavors include mango, lychee, blueberry, strawberry, taro, etc. The yogurt is on the more icy side, unlike those of Pink Berry and Red Mango. The decor is simple, yet colorful as the interior is dominated by solid colors. At the front of the shop, is the seating area, which includes a comfy couch and a few new-age, modern sitting stools. Come here if you're looking for an alternative to pearl tea or after a heavy, greasy meal.

Frozen yogurt, my alternative to ice cream. Love their Mango flavor.

  • Misako L.

I like this place. I'm not a fan of froyo in general, but my experience at Orange Tree was enjoyable. There were about 10 different flavors, 2 flavors per dispenser. Each dispenser had three levers--one for each flavor, and one in the middle to swirl the two flavors. Some of the swirl combinations were questionable (lychee+cookies n cream) so I suggest getting each one seperately. A full sized regular cup with minimal toppings is about $4. Their topping selection was nice though: fruit, cereal, chocolate chips, gummy bears, syrups, and these interesting "passion fruit poppers" which looked like orange tapioca. It's nice and clean here, but you're going to have to find a seat elsewhere. Luckily the Great Mall has loads of seats. Oh yeah, if you eat slow, your toppings might freeze up on you--I can honestly say that this was my first time eating frozen gummy bears.

  • Mr. T.

Always lots of selection. I had five flavours, but Lychee was probably the only one I thought was good. Anything else was a bit bland. As for the tart, I like the slight kick it has on the aftertaste, so that's a plus as well--a big one! Peach...I couldn't taste it. Sorry. Mango was a bit too light...couldn't taste it.

I was shopping and found this place by accident (literally). So me and my gf decide to give it a try since it 30 cent per ounce. We tried 4 different flavors: plain, taro, cappuccino, strawberry. Wow it taste all the same, every single flavor has tartness in it. So it lead me to believe they made the same/only single batch of plain tart and add artificial flavor to it to make other variety of flavor. +Plus: + in a Mall + cheap + variety of topping -Minus: - Space, everyone cramped into each other cause the builder arent very smart - Flavors all taste the same with a hint (artificial) - Only 1 register open during such a busy time? Sunday too O_O I still prefer Yogurtland at Cuppertino over any yogurt in the bay area.

  • Linh N.

The quality and taste of the yogurt here is a lot better than PinkBerry. Something about it is just more tasteful. A little bit richer than PinkBerry. My mom loves the taro here but I'm an original tart kind of girl though. There are a lot of other flavors if taro and original isn't something you like. It is inside the Great Mall. You can enjoy your yogurt at the food court area since the shop is nearby.

I went shopping today to pick up some clothes for my husband to take on our vacation, he hates shopping and these days I pretty much buy all of his clothes for him. I don't usually shop at the Great Mall and forgot how long that lap around the mall is, good thing I caught sight of the orange tree just as I thought I was going to collapse. The mango yogurt is excellent, with a light and refreshing flavor that was just what I was craving on this hot summer day. The selection of toppings looked fresh and well maintained, but I chose to eat my yogurt plain. This is a nice option for a quick snack in the mall. My one complaint is that there is no seating inside, and I had to enjoy my yogurt on a bench in the middle of the mall.

    (4)
  • Liss A.

I feel like they should have a little more yogurt selection. and another thing, it's not inexpensive! i pay more than $5 here whereas i pay under that amount for better places than this, but since it is in the mall and the only self serve yogurt there i will most likely end up here again somehow. bleh! i had better!

    (2)
  • Dave C.

What can i say! Im addicted to the mango yogurt here. This location has more topping choices than the other Orange Tree spots. If you have had Cefiore froyo in Socal.... then Orange Tree is a similar taste. Brainfreeze!!!

  • jen l.

Flavors have gotten a lot better. Lychee and mango is pretty good. Customer service is still lacking. when ever I want to try a flavor, the employee, i guess by management has to get you the sample. By the look on their faces you can tell they just don't like their jobs.

    (3)
  • Melanie R.

This is not the good stuff, and I had read the reviews before I went, but I really wanted frozen yogurt and it was there. Yes, the staff get your sample for you. That is just strange. They also had mostly fruit flavors, which I don't like. The toppings were few and limited in fresh fruit and candy bars. The one stand out was the coconut flavor. It was pretty good, and I don't even like coconut. The cheesecake was the worst I have had. Ever. Chocolate was decent. Overall, blah. Oh, they also do loyalty cards (buy a certain amount and get something after time).

    (2)
  • Grissette V.

When I asked for a sample, they only let you try one flavor. I don't understand why is that. How is a person going to know which flavors they want without getting a few samples. Other yogurt places let you sample as many flavors as you want. The employees there were not very friendly. I'm so not going to Orange Tree again when I go to the Great Mall. Its not worth it.

    (2)
  • Evelyn N.

Orange tree is one of my favorite frozen yogurt places! I love the flavors that they carry and the toppings that they have are a nice variety to choose from. I'm not used to going to this location, but the workers are usually pretty nice and the value isn't bad for the quality of what you get. I like the Mandarin oranges with the taro frozen yogurt among with many other toppings. Give it a try!
