Good if you're not able to venture out to better Thai joints. Some of the food was good, some of it was really medicore or just bad. I would stay away from beef dishes. I remember our beef dish being the worst-- no one wanted to touch it. The meat tasted fake and had a very strange texture. The noodle dishes were pretty good, I liked the Tom Yum soup. The ice cream is VERY good. PROPS to the girl who was working when I was there. She was waiting on pretty much the whole restaurant, running all over.

I have now been to this place 3 times and every time I go, it keeps getting better. I have frequented other Bay Area Thai restaurants that I used to swear by. Honey Thai beats them all. Good service, prices are reasonable, it's pretty small but very clean and nice. Must have dishes: Mussamun Beef Curry, Pad Thai Noodles and my husband REALLY liked the duck curry dish (forgot the name). Now on to desserts....yummmmmm!!!! Taro balls are amazing, FBI (Fried Bananas and Icecream) is fabulous, but my fav (and trust me it was a hard call to make) is the sticky rice with mango!!!!! Oh man I cannot stop thinking about it!!!!!

Good tasting Thai food. Papaya salad was good and the mango sticky rice was great. Service a bit unorganized, no busboy here dirty tables stayed that way as the waiter and waitress were busy with taking orders and doing take out. Overall a good dining experience!

I literally order the four same things at every Thai restaurant, and while everything here was good, nothing stood out. Except the lemon steamed fish. That was pretty amazing. Other than that, the pad thai, papaya salad, and yellow curry were average (which is still good... I've never had thai food that I didn't enjoy), and the tom yum soup looked kinda sad. They're open on Sundays which is distinctive!

First time here tonight with the family and we really enjoyed the experience overall. Service was great - very friendly. Food was awesome. We had green curry, Penang curry, honey thai sukiyaki and pad see ew which my kids loved! Everything was so tasty and good portions at reasonable prices. We also tried the tom yum soup.... The flavor was good but med hot put our mouths on fire! But like I said, service was great and they ended up not charging us for the tom yum. Next time we know to get it mild hot. Still, 5 stars for the yummy food and welcoming atmosphere. We'll be back for sure next time we're in the area.

Incredible! The food and service was extraordinary. Sure they got my order wrong! but they didn't hesitate to fix it and make it up to us. My mom and I split a Chicken Pad Thai and green spciy curry (we asked for a bowl of thai spicy curry on the side when we figured it wasn't spicy enough, I believe that is their spiciest). The pad thai was really good, you could really taste and smell peanut sauce I think it was, not dry unlike my used to be favorite Pad Thai dish at New TK noodle. The spicy green vegetarian curry came out good, it was delicious and just spicy enough, went well with the cup of brown rice that was $1.95. The environment is really beautiful, extremely clean, they have very awesome plates, and they were frequently refilling my cup of water. Each table was candlelit with a small glass filled with water and a rose. My mom tried to come on Friday with a date but it was extremely packed by a party and a huge line I suppose, well her date missed out! Because we just tried this today, it was extremely empty, only about 4 tables being occupied by the time we left. During the month of September they have 10% off all of their orders (dine-in and take-out), my mom and I definitely plan to come back this Friday (hopefully right at 5 so we won't have to wait for a line!). Gotta make use of that 10% while we can, and also try out a dessert. I had a banana 2 hours before this dinner and I could barely finish my food. As usual they add gratuity for parties of 6 or more. And also when they brought out or bill, they gave us a cute little souvenir that was a small red see through pouch containing their business card and a piece of Thailand currency (too lazy to look it up right now). Also a mint for the each of us. Thank you again for the great service Honey Thai, I'm glad I finally got to try the food here, I enjoyed it greatly and I'll be back!

Decent food but like the others said, steep prices for small portions :( Unfortunately we won't be back anytime soon, came here on a Saturday around 4 and there was NOBODY eating.

10% off your meal until may 10th 2013 Was craving Thai food today for lunch so a co-worked recommended Honey Thai. I stopped by for lunch and was greeted by a very nice young man, gave me a menu for and and also told me that they have 10% discount until May 10th. I skimmed thought the menu and ordered basil chicken over rice. My order was ready in last then 10 mins I was very pleased since I had stopped by target before coming here so I didn't have much time left on my hour lunch. The basil chicken that i ordered was plenty to eat the very flavorful. It had plenty of chicken some cut green beans, green and red bell peppers and just enough basil so the taste is not too overwhelming with basil. The ambience was great, clean restaurant! I will most definitely go back to Honey Thai for lunch, I highly suggest that you also try Honey Thia..... Enjoy!

I will forever miss the old Thai restaurant that was located in Milpitas years ago. My family and I used to eat there/order out all the time, but hello to a new Thai restaurant in Milpitas within close proximity. Came here for lunch and heard mixed reviews. I ordered the Pad Kee Mao (medium spicy) and Boyfriend had the Pad Thai. It was my first time having Pad Kee Mao, but wanted to try due to the number of reviews it's gotten on Yelp. The flavor was interesting, but really heavy on the basil - which I don't mind, but did take away other flavors in the dish. Boyfriend enjoyed his Pad Thai but the noodles were wayy too chewy for me. Portions were pretty good, I barely ate half of my plate and I was starving too :) Too full to try their highly rated Mango Sticky Rice. Maybe another time. Overall it was pretty good, I'd give it a 3.5 and Boyfriend gives it a 4. I felt like the waitress had a bit of attitude going on though, alllllllright.

I ordered to-go on a Friday night that wasn't too busy: Pra-ram chicken $(8.50), chicken pad thai ($8.25), and roti ($5.50). The food was normal. But the serving size was tiny. The pra-ram chicken container was approximately 50% filled. There was a lot of extra space in the container. I love pra-ram chicken, but had to ration so my brother could have some. I only had a few pieces, and we finished it quickly. I felt they could have filled the to-go container with at least 25% more for the price. Maybe the portion of dining in is bigger?

1.Very bad customer service. Waiters are rude and really don't care if they loose business. 2.food was cooked averagely. Spanish person cooking thai food.. it will be off from thai taste. 3. Try not to pay by credit card as they decide by themselves how much to cut for tip and you will see it in your statement so definitely your card is not secure

From my experience alone - when restaurants offer groupons, amazon local deals, etc - I try not to expect too much from them. But I also didn't expect two bad cases of food poisoning, either.(More on that, later.) My boyfriend and I came in yesterday around 130 for a late lunch and like most reviews - the service was mediocre. It was definitely not busy so there's really no excuse to provide such rude service. The waitress slammed out plates down on the table and walked away. I'm not sure if she heard me, but I mentioned that they brought us soup without spoons - and she walked over, grabbed some spoons from the table next to us, shoved them on our table and walked away. Anyway, back to the whole food poisoning thing. Interestingly enough I haven't seen any reviews regarding this - maybe we just came on a bad day. We ordered a total of three items - Pad Thai, Yellow Curry, and the BBQ Chicken lunch special. The Pad Thai and BBQ chicken were fine - but the potatoes in the curry tasted sour and not cooked all the way. We knew we had gotten sick from that because we did not have anything else yesterday since we started feeling sick later that night. Eaters beware.

The mango sticky rice drizzled with coconut milk was pretty good. Recommended by a colleague for our monthly group outing, we wanted to give this new spot a try. It's cozy and nice that not too many people know about it yet. We ordered from the lunch menu, my colleagues stuck to the basics (maybe I should have too) -Yellow Curry with Chicken and Shrimp Pad Thai. Instead, I opted for something different and choose the chicken stir-fry with brown rice. Service was friendly, attentive and quick. Our food was nicely plated. My lunch choice looked awesome. The green beans were fresh and crisp, and the brown rice was delicious. The chicken though lacked a lot of flavor leaving me quite disappointed. Tried to drench the chicken in the stir fry sauce but to no avail. My colleagues would rate this place a 3 star, they enjoyed their food and the mango sticky rice was good. Right now, I'm giving it a 2.5 rating. I'm sure we'll be back and next time I'll order something familiar and will update this review.

Been there a few times for dinner and the food has been pretty good. Tasty food with good spices. One dish we ordered had shrimp and it looked like it wasn't cooked. They immediately took it back and cooked another one. No problems with the service. Would return again.

It's so nice that they open so late (9:30) for random starving people like me. haha even though we got there pretty late, it was still pretty packed! We ordered 3 dishes: *Crab fried rice: So sad, there was barely any crab! And overall, the dish tasted pretty bland :| *Eggplant & Fish Filet: The fish was deep-fried, and then stir-fried with the eggplant and some other veggies! It was really flavorful (salty..haha), although not exactly the healthiest dish. *Silver Delight: Silver noodles (vermicelli) with plenty of veggies! This dish was slightly bland too, but I loved that it came with so many veggies. Maybe we ordered the wrong dishes, but I wasn't that impressed with the food. The ambiance is pretty fancy -- there's a candle light on every table! Pretty fun to play with while you wait for your food..

I love Thai food but this place SUCKED! We are here from out of town and it got the best ratings for the area. We ordered Pad Thai, Chicken Satay, Yellow Curry with chicken a side of steamed rice. How could you go wrong?! Well... The rice was not fresh and everything else was sour! $50 later I was so sad! The only good thing was the coconut juice and Thai iced tea.

Honey Thai was just "A-OK" for me. Came here for dinner with some friends on a Friday night and luckily we didn't have to wait for a table. Perused the menu for a bit and I did notice that their prices are slightly higher than other Thai restaurants but not crazy high. Just some things I can remember from our visit. Their serve thicker roti which I abso love, but half of the table was wishing for the thinner roti. When you ask for regular spicy -- your dish comes out preeeettttyyyy spicy. I can usually hang with a spicy dish but I was a little surprised with their version of "regular spicy." Oh and I feel like our group was a little louder than their usual clientele, so just FYI if you tend to use your excited voice when meeting up with friends. I wouldn't mind doing take out, but this is prob not my go-to Thai place.

Came in and we stood by the door for a while so we just sat ourselves down, my bf had to ask the waiter for our menus. The waiter finally acknowledged us but walked away and didn't ask us for our drink orders, not to say the least he was trying to be rude but not knowing quality costumer service? We ordered: roti panang which was undercooked Chicken Basil: Not bad Banana Fried Ice Cream: I liked the banana egg rolls but the coconut ice cream was ok All in all, I probably will stick to Laying Laying Restaurant for my Thai fix. I just wanted to try a new place

Nothing special. Pad see ew is alright (a little on the flavorless side), green curry shrimp is alright, green papaya salad is alright as well, mango sticky rice is pretty good (but again, it's almost always good).

I went here with the gf on Friday at around 11:45am. We thought that we were going to be the only customers here because it opens at 11:30. We were wrong, it was filled with customers. The food was great. We ordered the pumpkin red curry with chicken, shrimp pad thai, fried pork with basil, 2 sides of rice, and 2 thai teas to wash it all down. The pumpkin red curry was excellent and I can't wait to try their other curry dishes. The pad thai was a little too sour for me but that's just because my gf squeezed the whole lemon slice in it. The fried pork tasted good but my gf found something in the dish that didn't belong in it. We told the waiters and they quickly brought us a new one and sincerely apologized by taking the fried pork off the bill and gave us 2 orders of ice cream on the house. This place has great food and is backed up with its' amazing customer service. 5 stars.

Went for lunch. Service was extremely quick, and food came out quickly as well. I felt the yellow curry and basil tofu lacked flavor. Yellow curry was also thick, which was odd to me. I wouldn't recommend, unless you're looking for a quick bite during the lunch hour.

It was a full house on Valentines day and it was first that I had seen it like this here. The wait wasn't too bad. I'm giving them 4 stars instead of 5 for the effort: two waiters were working the entire floor and did their best, but it just didn't go so smoothly as it could have with more help. The food was great. Definitely still recommended!

I love this place! It is our favorite Thai restaurant in the area. We go here pretty often. Prices are reasonable and the menu has a good selection of choices. The staff is extremely polite and helpful. Our favorites are that we always get are the angel wings. They're very tasty and usually come out quite quickly. Then we order the panang salmon and the juhn pad crab or the Pad Kee Mao with chicken. The panang salmon is a succulent flakey filet of salmon covered in this silky red curry coconut sauce. It has some vegetables with it that to be honest I could do with out. But the salmon is to DIE FOR. It's cooked perfectly. The two noodle dishes are always safe best. They have the perfect amount of spice and noodle/meat ratio. I hate with i order noodles and there is ton of filler. The juhn pad crab has large pieces of lump crab meat. Its really great. We'll be in next week!

I went here for the 1st time last night to celebrate my b-day. How did I NOT know about this nice little place these past 2 years?! Food was good & the service was great! They even brought out a to-go water cup for our 14-month-old son even though we didn't ask for it. We ordered stir-fried crispy pork w/ veggies, pad kee mao & the seafood soup. The soup was a little too bland for my taste but I did enjoy the other 2 dishes. They were kind enough to give us free ice-cream since it was my birthday. Prices are reasonable for the portions. The restaurant is a little small & I feel bad whenever our son made loud noises that might disturb other patrons but thank God we went when the dinner rush was over. I can't wait to come back & try other dishes!

I tried this place for the first time today and was very pleased! The bf and I called in for a to-go order of the chicken fried rice, basil chicken entree, and the tom kha gai soup. I ate the chicken fried rice and the tom kha gai, and they were both very delicious!!! The fried rice was the right amount of flavorful and not oily at all; the chicken was actually tender and perfectly portioned for the fried rice. Oh my goodness, the tom kha gai was the right amount of sweet where I could actually finish the whole bowl! It had more of a coconut flavor than I was used to, but that was a good thing. Since I didn't dine-in at the restaurant, this rating is solely for the quality/packaging of the food and the service. The lady who took my order over the phone was very efficient. When we picked up the food, she also took the time to tell us about their current promotions. As for the packaging of the food, I appreciate that the food came in reusable tupperware-like boxes in a paper bag!

I came in recently for dinner on a Wed night around 8PM. The restaurant was pretty full (there was a large party that was wrapping up dinner) - maybe due to the 25% dine in offer? Anyhow - the service was super slow, even when the restaurant was cleared out. There was only ONE guy serving tables and taking orders. He also seemed to not remember anything...we had to ask multiple times just for water to be brought to the table. When I ordered, he would say 'uh huh' and was supposedly writing the order down..but when he began to repeat the order, it was wrong! I'd recommend if you have time to wait, then come for dinner at a later time. If you want faster service for dinner, come when they just open for lunch around 6PM. Note: Don't order any beef dish - there's something about the beef served here that is just not right. The beef crumbles..beef should not crumble. Order your dish with Chicken or another protein. I've warned you about the beef!

  • Bonnie S.

Great decor and service and delicious food! Honey Thai has your standard menu of thai dishes; we ordered a beef curry with two rice bowls, BBQ chicken, and also the eggplant with tofu. Overall food quality is good and portions are decently sized for the price. The chicken was on the dry side though and could use more flavoring. I reccomment the eggplant dish! It was super good. The beef curry was also very good with tender beef chunks and onions and bell pepper.

  • Jaime O.

One note - that is the flavor profile. I got the jungle red curry - no coconut milk. It was sufficiently hot for me (I like a lot of heat), but had no other flavor. It needed acid - vinegar or citrus. I asked for lemon or vinegar and was given those tiny hot chilis. Big blu had the BBQ chicken. He ate it until he pushed it away saying he was tired of eating one flavor. We also had the "money bags". I liked those. $30 for lunch - too much.

  • greg s.

Almost slipped to 3.5 stars due to smaller portion size of curry. Everything else is solid: * Yellow curry chicken - good but small * Pad Thai - very good * Chicken sayay - very good and good size * cucumber salad side - very good * spring rolls mix - good * brown rice - soft and nice blend almost like wild rice The other drawback is the very small table sizes. Place is clean and service is fine. Worth going to on your Thai rotation.

I come here with my friends every so often. I LOVE their noodles. Pad Thai is always good; not too dry nor is it too soggy. Pad see ew is so flavorful, and ooooh, there's that pan jab crab (sp) where they use real crab meat. I came here with my mom too and she even liked the food here! Everything is very clean too. I'm not much of a curry person so i can't say much about the curry dish here. The noodles are good though! Oh, and there's the eggplant dish that's also really good.

The food was not flavorful. The service was fast but unpleasant. The prices are worse than average for what you get. I did like the colorful decor. If you are a Thai food lover, and are used to the high quality Thai food in the Bay Area, then expect to be disappointed.

My family and I are really familiar with Thai food so after passing by Honey Thai a couple times we finally decided to give it a try last Sunday. We ordered Tom Kha Gai, Pad See Eiw, and BBQ Chicken and Papaya Salad. Portions were a bit lacking especially compared to our favorite Thai restaurant and service was horrible. Our server was Fawn, long burnt orange reddish hair? Idk but it was obviously dyed and is taller than the other girl with medium length black hair. (I checked the receipt to know who she was because she was that bad) She sat us down when we walked in, around 130pm and only a couple families there, and it was if she was in a rush. She wanted to get our orders down quickly as if she couldn't wait. She jotted down our orders and quickly left. Got us our drinks and didn't attend to us until after the food came out. I asked for an extra straw and she seemed annoyed when I did. That's when I knew she wasn't going to be a great server. The food came out and she quickly put it on the table. Tom Kha Gai first then the BBQ Pork-- Yup I typed that correctly, Pork. I could've sworn I heard my mother say Chicken but nope. After talking it through with my parents I raised my hand to ask her if it was chicken or pork and she gave us attitude saying I said okay to the fact that she had said "BBQ PORK?" When in actuality I didn't even care what the hell she said when she brought it out and only heard BBQ part so I just agreed. She was already not on my good side. The Pad See Eiw came out and my family and I just ate. The Tom Kha Gai was good, as far as everything else I have yet to comment on it since I didn't bother eating any of it. The other server with the black hair came to our table to ask if we needed anything and I had wished she was our server instead since she seemed really nice. I found an ant in my soup and I didn't bother complaining because I was done eating it and I knew if our server gave me the slightest attitude I was going to go off on her. I did mention to my mom out loud that I had recently started Yelping and I caught the eyes and ears of our server and she approached us towards the end of our dinner asking if my mother wanted to water.... mind you we had been sitting there with out any attentiveness unless it was in the form of our food/drinks being given and that extra straw. Honey Thai is a Thai Restaurant my family and I will definitely not be coming back to unless they change their service or unless we don't get that nasty server Fawn. Honestly, her fault was her attitude her lack in checking up on us if we needed anything such as extra napkins more water etc and did I forget to mention attitude? She should have double checked and went over our orders before making them and also shouldn't have given me any nasty attitude about the BBQ Chicken/Pork mishap. Very unprofessional. Yeah Honey Thai is alright, but I'd much rather go elsewhere for better service and more portions, even if means a little travel time.

Thank the Lord Milpitas finally has a decent Thai restaurant! It has been a long dry spell and I missed good Pad Kee Mao. The family also enjoyed their various curies, appetizers, and desserts. Their jungle curry is really good and different from the typical creamy curry. The green peppercorns were unusual and really added to the dish. Not sure if it's just us, but every time I've been there the place is practically empty or empty. My fear is that it will go out of business, which would really suck. Come on folks, give this tiny little place a try. Good food, good service, and fair price.

Chicken Satay- good. Thai BBQ Chicken- good, but I wish they can be more generous with it. Yellow Curry-good, and the serving is pretty filling for 2-3 people Red Curry-good, and the serving is pretty filling for 2-3 people Pineapple Fried Rice- loved how you can substitute with brown rice (extra charge) Pad Thai- a bit soury and oily, but descent. NOT THE BEST Coconut Juice- disappointed, not fresh. This place is a great place to take a first date. Very simple and nice setting. Thai food is filled with flavor, so being critical with Thai restaurants should be taken with a grain of salt. To conclude my review, this place is good enough to be rated high depending on your favorite dish. I am a big fan of the curry dishes and the pineapple fried rice (I wish they could add more shrimp though instead of putting the number of shrimp that matches the number of members in the party).

Their food is just decent. The Pad Thai did not have a decent amount of flavoring, but it did not taste delicious. Not delicious enough to be rated an overall of 4 stars.

The food came out pretty quick. My Pad Kee Mao with chicken was delicious. If I'm ever in Milpitas again for work, I'll totally swing by this place for lunch. Friendly services, clean, and easy parking. B+/A-

Came here for lunch one day. We ordered pad see ew and duck red curry with white and brown rice. The duck red curry had good chunks of meat and duck skin. The pad see ew included regular broccoli which was different cause I'm used to having it with Chinese broccoli. Overall, decent.

Pros: - Mango sticky rice dessert was very delicious Cons: - Based on my order of grilled salmon with mango salad: - The salmon was very dry and has no seasoning. Salmon already tastes good by itself and does not require much seasoning but they had NONE - Mango salad turned out to be just small strips of mango dipped in fish sauce, a little disappointing - Expensive for a tiny portion of salmon - Service was slow, no water refill unless ask many times The only reason I went to check this place out is for their grilled salmon with mango salad. So I will not come back. There are better Thai places in the area such as Banana Leaf.

Came here for lunch with my friend today. Great service and great food. We came right at 11:30, the right told us they're not for another 15 minutes. We told him we only have an hour lunch and he immediately let us in. We ordered crab fried rice and pad kee mao, both dishes were good! I would totally come back again.

Love this place! I've been back a few times since their Grand Opening in September! Love their sampler appetizer plate! Great combo of everything. Amazing food, price is decent and every time the same quality! Which reminds me, I definitely need to go back soon! I have a green curry craving I need to get my fix!

Honey Thai is a great place for lunch if you want Thai and want to avoid the lunch crowds at Ranch Mkt. It never seems crowded, so I was a bit skeptical. I've had Pad Thai a few times at other places and it was always okay, usually a bit sticky/mushy. The Pad Thai at Honey Thai was fresh, and tasty- not too spicy, altho you can request different levels of spice for most of their dishes. Basil Chicken was also good- mild tasting at first with a little heat finally hitting you. Love eating it spooned over rice. The Fried Crispy Pork with Chinese Broccoli was a favorite for my son. Super crispy pieces of pork sauteed with chinese broccoli in a mild sauce- a great dish for bacon boy. He even ate all the broccoli. Most dishes run about $8/$9. Service was speedy and courteous. I will have to return to try more...

I love the Salmon Panang Curry and my boyfriend really really loves the Pad See Ew w/ chicken. I've add many other dishes and haven't been disappointed at all. I also really love their coconut juice w/ coconut flesh. It's a small place and I hope they get lots of business because they are right near my house.

Cute little restaurant that maybe seats about 20 persons? But the food is good. I had the pad thai and thai fried rice both meals were really good. I appreciate that the utensils, plates, and cups were all spotless clean. I will definitely be back.

Extremely SMALL portions!!! I'm a huge fan of Thai food, so this place really disappointed me. We ordered the BBQ waterfall beef plate and panang curry salmon and it just tasted bland. I've had better food for a cheaper price and bigger portions. (This is my very first review ever. I was so disappointed in this restaurant that I had to Yelp it.)

Delicious! I was quite impressed. My husband and I wanted to try this place out since it opened and tonight was the night. We ordered the yellow curry chicken and added pumpkin ($1.00 extra) and it was so good! definitely worth the 1 dollar extra. I hope they made a staple dish on their menu. Hubby got the waterfall beef and he was it was good but nothing special. I wouldn't know because I don't eat red meat. Pad Thai was tasty and my only complaint was the noodles were a teensie bit undercooked and on the harder side. It was definitely tasty enough for us to want to go back and try some other items on their menu. We also ordered Mango sticky rice and OMG it was prob one of the best mango sticky rices I have had!! If I could give 4 1/2 stars I would....it was yummy and satisfied my Thai craving. Service was great and the place was very clean. Portions were perfect!

Crispy pork with broccoli yummy if you order their pad Thai and if you don't mention that you like chicken and shrimp you will only get a few pieces of shrimp. This a great place for dinner they still offer their 15% discounts on select days.

As Hubby and I were in Milpitas we asked Siri to locate for Thai restaurants and 10 popped up with this place having the most reviews. Seriously 10 near by...was kind of suprising. This place is near CVS Pharmacy near Marina Foods and has been open since July of 2011. Hubby and I started off with hot tea. This is a cost of 1.50 per person but with unlimited refills. Its actually the same tea they use to make ice tea but without the milk. We then ordered larb salad with chicken to start off with. It was good and how I normally have it. They only make it with one type of ground meat, which is chicken but have had it with ground pork as well. We then also ordered beef with basil and added eggplant to it. I love dishes with eggplant. It had great seasoning and great flavors but some of the sliced beef were soft and yet some was a little tough. Maybe will have to try this with chicken instead. Enjoyed this with a side of white rice. For dessert we tried the taro balls which is very similar to a Filipino dessert my dad and mom make at parities. Its with coconut milk, taro and mochi balls. Its a very rich dessert so it was just the right serving amount for us. Overall, I give this place a 3.5 stars and would have rated higher if some of the meat with eggplant wasn't chewy. I will definitely have to come back again and try out their other dishes. At least I don't have to drive all they way to Sunnyvale to eat at Thai Basil to get decent Thai food.

This is a great addition to the fine dinning in Milpitas. It is a bit small but it doesn't get to crowded at dinner time. All the food is good. Prices are reasonable. The service was moderate. The 4 star rating is really based on taste and convienence. The parking is ample and the food really is good. I would recommend and take anyone here for a bite.

Honey Thai has Yelp to thank for this review. I was surfing on Yelp today and saw a posting for Honey Thai under New Restaurants. I have no idea how I got there but I ended up thinking about Honey Thai for like an hour before I decided to look up their website. Luckily, they give users the ability to order online on their website. My order was place but wouldn't be done by 8:30, I HAD ONE HOUR TO GO before I could pick up. It's kind of silly that I didn't call them but I was too hungry to even think about picking up the phone. So I drove out to Honey Thai and asked them to process my order stat. They looked at me kind of funny and then looked on their website, up popped my order. Maybe I was the first to try this option. I don't know. I paid and they rushed to get my order done. I'm at home now eating my Honey Thai. I am happy to say that it came in eco friendly to go containers. I can reuse one of the containers while the other is compostable. I would have easily deducted a star for styrofoam.

I have eaten at this restaurant in the past, but do not have plans to visit it again in the future, due to my latest experience. I purchased a voucher and was going to use it this week and called to make a reservation. When I purchased the voucher, I planned to bring my wife to the restaurant. She is out of the country, waiting for an immigration visa, and I had thought by August (over a year since we were married), she would have the visa, but does not have it yet. I spoke to an employee and told him my situation. He said I would have to bring a second person. Because the voucher expires soon, I could not find someone else with such short notice. I asked if he could make an exception, since my wife is not here, and he checked with the owner and said he could not. He said to request a refund for the voucher. I was hoping to tell my wife about my latest Thai lunch experience there, but unfortunately, the restaurant did not make that possible.

Very clean. Great food and service. But slow on making the food. I guess I was hungry that day... :-)

Anthony Bourdain once said, "I feel like in the heart of every chef, there lies a little chinese man." You can definitely sense the Chinese influence in the food here, which is not a bad thing at all. Honey Thai does not possess all the intense flavorful nature you would expect of "authentic thai", but it is still very tasty and I would recommend it for a quick lunch/dinner with friends. I give the Pad See Eiw 4 stars - definitely my favorite dish there. The Pad Thai gets 3 1/2 stars just because I'm one to prefer a slightly stronger tamarind flavor, but my friends loved it. There is also a fish & eggplant dish that my brother absolutely loved, but also commented that it tasted very Chinese (again, not at all a bad thing). One dish I cannot recommend would be the chicken fried rice which was very lacking in flavor & color. Also, the consistency of the rice was very sticky/overcooked -( this could however be a result of it sitting in the to-go container.) The service is super friendly and welcoming, and very eager to serve. I will likely be back.

First time at this restaurant. Came here with a bunch of friends and we each ordered something different. I ordered the pad see iew with chicken. Liked the restaurant, was really nicely decorated and had a good vibe, but I thought it was kinda dim but that wasn't a real big turn off. When my food finally arrived I immediately noticed that the presentation was not very well. My pad see iew was served like noodles splattered all over the plate. However, it was flavorful and delicious. I was fortunate enough to also try my friends' pad thai and pad kee mao, both also very delicious. I would rate this place a 3.5. Good food, but the price is a little high. I bump my rating up to a 4 star because the service was good and friendly. Will definitely come back again.

FINALLY, a decent thai restaurant in Milpitas. I've been here several times and haven't been disappointed yet. Good service, great food, reasonable pricing...this will be my go-to place to eat when I'm craving Thai food. If you like spicy food, I recommend Pad Kee Mao, one of my fav dishes here. I also like their curries and I usually add pumpkin to my curries. Last time we went, we got a red packet with Thai money in it and a fridge magnet, how cute

I usually don't give 5 stars! But there's just something about this place.. Came here for dinner around 7PM today (on a Monday night) and it was pretty empty. But for the location, they just need some more advertisement(+ it's still in the process of grand opening). I was surprised to see a new Thai Restaurant in town! HAD to try it out.. Pad Thai (shrimp substituted with chicken) : This dish was amazing! It was not dry at all. Chicken wasn't dry and neither was the tofu!! I'm so sick of dry pad thai I get at other places. The noodles were a little undercooked but I didn't mind. Tom Yum soup (mild) : 4 out of 5 stars. I would like to try it spicier next time. But mild would be perfect for those who prefer more sour over spicy. BF ordered Pad See Eiw and said it's a bit too dry for his taste. The place is really clean and waiter made sure everything was alright multiple times, also made sure our waters were always refilled. The bill came with a gift! Thai money(?) in a red pouch along with their business card and some Andes Mint Chocolates. I thought that was awesome and unique! I will definitely be returning if I ever have the crave for Thai food again.. And for sure will try to have room for their desserts! BTW : 10% off your entire bill throughout September!!

I took my daughters to dinner at this new Milpitas Thai Restaurant, we were seated right away the place was chilly inside but the waiter turned the thermostat down for us . We ordered the eggs rolls$ 5.95to start they were very good and the sauce was pretty sweet but good, for our main course we had Sweet sour chicken 8.50 pretty good & pad thai veggie $ 7.95yummy finally the best for last Pineapple fried rice $$10.95 i really liked this , the total bill was 38.22 with out tip I told a coworker today about the food and he went for his lunch he said it was good but to $$ for lunch $14 with an extra cup of soup and hot tea . if they have a lunch special with this included he would go more often. I will go back to try new things

Went here for lunch, and I was actually pleasantly surprised! I'm very accustomed to Thai food, and I've had many places around the South Bay, so I wasn't expecting this place to be all that great. The decor and place seemed very new and clean, which was nice. We ordered the chicken satay, tom yum seafood soup, red curry with beef, and pad see ew with chicken. I tried all except the pad see ew, and it was great. We ordered all spicy, and it was delicious! The tom yum seafood soup was my favorite! Lastly, we ordered the mango and sticky rice as dessert, and it was perfect. Everything was perfectly portioned. It's not exactly bang for your buck, but I think it's reasonably priced and the flavor is definitely there. I will be back!

Yuummmmm...this Thai restaurant replaced Thai lovers for me. The green curry beef is sooooo delicious, the beef just melts in your mouth. The pad Thai is also delicious abduction so is the yellow curry with chicken. The spicy eggplant with tofu is so flavorful i couldn't stop eating any of the dishes but i got so full i had to. The Thai iced tea is really gopd too, not too sweet but sweet enough to enjoy. I highly recommend this that restaurant.

First time I stop by this place, not a cozy place but the restaurant was very clean; nice service. 2 stars because of the food. I disappointed ): because this place got 4stars on Yelp, but actually the food was the worst Thai food I ever tried. First of all, The Special Tom Yum Goong (this soup is always the first thing we pick every time we dine-in a Thai place) is bad bad bad ): this is the first time I try a Tom Yum Goong Soup with the most of the food in the cup is Onion! My brother calls this is tomato-onion soup, and yes, it taste like tomato soup and the way too much onion in the soup. Second, the Duck Red Curry, I try many duck curry but this is really the worst. Coconut-Milk that all I can taste. No curry flavor but sweet ): Then, the Basil Fried Rice is OK if you are vegetarian; to me I really need more seasoning for my dish ( How come the basil fried rice tasted like a white rice plus peppers flavor)!!!!!!! Finally, thanks to yelpers for the tips about PadThai, if the table didn't have a Pad Thai dish, I really didn't know what we should eat for our dinner on that night )x The PadThai was fine, but it is not the best like someone said. And The Thai Tea was too bad! Too sweet! No tea flavor! Just milk and sugar, and I rather drank cold water than drank that Thai Tea ): $2.75 I threw it away with the drink which I couldn't finish. Make a 2 stars review. Remove bookmark. Never come back. That all I can do after this experience.

This place has the best Thai food (better than all Thai food in the Bay Area such as Krung Thai in San Jose, etc.). The best is Pumpkin Red Curry w/ Shrimp and Massaman Curry w/ Beef. Pineapple Fried Rice is good. Yellow Curry with Chicken is okay (probably need to be at least median spicy) . Thai ice tea is a little too sweet. The only thing we don't like is the 18% tip automatically levied against a party of 6. 15% is okay, not to mention 18% on top of tax included bill. I would only do take out for more than 4 people.

Had the Yellow Curry one day and it was fantastic. Next time had the Phad Thai and it too was very flavorable. They ask how spicy you would like it, so this is a service that most Thai restaurant don't ask. Service was outstanding. A Go back for sure

Tried this place out today after taking a detour to our original Thai place. My mom had told me about this place and after seeing the reviews on yelp, I thought we'd try it out. My boyfriend and I had the red curry with chicken, vegetable pad Thai, and the laab deb (the duck salad). The food was ok, I think I'd still prefer to go to my other favorite Thai place in Milpitas (Orchid Thai) instead. Granted we didn't order much from this place and we didn't get any of the dishes they were known for, but still, even with the basics I expected it to stir some sort of orgasmic experience from the food (it doesn't take much to wow me with food). The duck salad was also interesting. I thought it would be an actual salad with minced duck but it was just minced duck with some pieces of chopped cabbage and shredded carrots with cucumbers. The prices were decent but the food was just underwhelming to me. I'd rather give my money to Orchid Thai to keep that fine, authentic, mom and pop establishment alive! On the upside the staff was extremely nice and attentive. Not sure we'll go back, but they do give you a stamp card that you can get a stamp for every time you visit. After 5 stamps you get $20 off your meal.

I decided to give Honey Thai a try. I ordered Pad Kee Mao and Pad Thai. I just came back from Thailand a few weeks ago so I wanted to test out my taste buds. I wasn't blown away at all. Pad Kee Mao was bland. The Pad Thai was bland as well and the noodles seemed to be over- al dente. Hardest noodles ever. Pad Thai was dry and needed more sauce. I really wanted to like Honey Thai especially because it's so close to home. I hope they improve because I would love to support this place.

The basil chicken, thai spicy is off the hook. The only issue I have is that they never give you enough of the spicy sauce.. be a little more generous on the spice people.

Quite an inconspicuos location and had a few stragglers every now and then. Not sure if it was good or not but I came just to appease a friend. To my utter surprise, their pad kee maw & chicken panang curry was offff the chart! In fact, I'm not sure why it's not packed...but then again, I came on a Thursday night.

The food was Ok, not great. The service was fast, no smiles on servers faces., but efficient. Price was Ok. Pad tai, seafood salad, chicken curry without coconut milk, and green seafood curry came out to $70. My biggest complaint is too much use of imitation crab meat and portion size. $13 to $15 seafood salad and seafood curry's main ingredient was large chunks of imitation crab meat, which I'm not a big fan of... Without them, the portions are extremely small and dishes over priced. Disappointing.

Felt like eating out t'nite and figured we should try this restaurant. My hubby and I hadn't gone out for Thai food for a while, so he was game. There' a sign outside the restaurant that they are giving 10% off for September as their Grand Opening Offer. So that's a nice thing. We went in, and the restaurant wasn't very busy. A few tables were occupied. We were promptly greeted and seated. The atmosphere was nice; everything was clean and tidy. Service was friendly. The menu items are typical thai food restaurant items. We ordered one sprite for my hubby, a green papaya salad as our appetizer, the massaman beef + stir fried vegetables with basil + two orders of brown rice for our entrees. All the food was in good presentation, tasted fresh and had great flavors. Food was in good portion--not huge and not small. Actually we thought the massaman was in a slightly more generous portion than we expected. The ONLY minor thing was that the potato in the massaman seemd a tad undercooked (still had a lil crunch) and I expected it to be completely soft. That may just be a personal preference? Don't know.. Otherwise, everything was great. The bill came to about $30 after the 10% discount (basically took off a tiny bit more than what the tax amount). All in all, we had a great experience and would definitely recommend this place. We think the food is totally tasty! We also plan on coming back. :)

i really wanted to like this place since it's in my neighborhood, but it just didn't stand out. the service there is great. very nice, very attentive. i ordered some of my usuals: papaya salad, beef salad, and green curry chicken. unfortunately, they were all just ok (a little bland for my taste). Prices were ok, not cheap, but not too expensive. I may give this place another shot because they're really nice folks that work there, and they're practically around the corner from me.

I was in Milpitas, and just happened into a shopping center to find some lunch. Luckily I found Honey Thai and decided to try it out. I had the soup with the cocoanut milk in the broth along with chicken and mushrooms, it was very tasty. I then had the chicken with cashews and jasmine rice. I loved it! Very good flavor and generous with the chicken. I will be back.

Heard of this Thai spot from a friend, and I'm usually skeptical because I have had bad Thai before and I have my usual spot. We come in as a party of 10 and the staff was very accomodating. We ordered multiple dishes such as basil chicken, chicken satay, pumpkin curry, pad Thai, Pad see ew, and tom kha gai. Everything was good, but my absolute favorite thing was the roti with panang curry. Their roti is amazing! You can tell its cooked in butter because it gets that special crisp on the outside. Perfection! I would come all the way over here for that alone. Their coconut juice was also really refreshing, and I enjoyed the mango sticky rice for dessert. I'll come back when I'm on this side of town, this place has an A+ in my book.

My fiancee and I were just driving around looking for a place to eat. We decided to try this place. From my first impression, this restaurant has an outstanding ambiance. The table was so decadent and neat. The coconut juice had real coconut in it and they make their juice from scratch!! The papaya salad was spicy just the way I like it!!! Then our two main dishes came. We order the red curry (spicy) and chicken with basil. There dishes were infused with exotic spices. GET IN MAH BELLY!!!! Rice was pretty steamed and fresh. The server was very attentive and check on us frequently. She also keep filling our glasses with water. So overall excellent ambiance, service and food!!! I will come back here again!!! This place rocks!!! :-)

First time eating at this restaurant since it just opened. My friend and I were craving Thai food and decided to try this place out. Its a very small restaurant but its so nice inside! The decorations and table settings were so adorable. Theres a variety of different plates to chose from along with their daily specials and most favored dishes. We ordered the jun pan noodles which is their spicy crab noodles and its definitely my favorite!!! I asked for it mild but it wasnt spicy at all. Then we ordered the regular pad thai and also the yellow chicken curry with garlic rice. Everything came all at once. Their customer service is awesome. Our waitress was very nice and consistent. The price for the food is so-so. Very typical for thai food. Overall experience was good, I would come back to eat their curry and jun pan!!! (:

Been meaning to write about this place. Went to check it out with a friend in the middle of the week. It's small but cozy with great food and standard prices. Service was very fast, friendly, and good about making sure you're taken care of. There was an annoying couple nearby. One of those dysfunctional pairings a la "My Sassy Girl." As we got up to leave, the server asked the girl how their meal was, she pointed to one of their dishes and said she really didn't like it. The server seemed crushed but thanked the couple anyway. After the server left, the boy asked the girl how she could say something like that. The girl said she was doing the server and restaurant a favor by being honest. While I agree with the sentiment, I think there are better ways to convey "the truth." Plus, why do you need to speak so loudly such that nearby patrons can hear your conversation?

Friday night comes around and my boyfriend and I wanted to order in..not knowing what we wanted to eat I remember seeing Honey Thai, it was our first time trying it so we were taking a look at the menu online. Our order consisted of pad thai, pineapply fried rice, and the sampler. It took about 20 minutes, and luckily its just down the street, and a plus that they take card. The pad thai was really good & had a ton of flavor. The pineapple fried rice was good, I've had better.. I didn't like the raisins in it too much, but the chunks of pineapple were good, along with the cashews and chicken. The sampler was good was well, it had prawns, eggrolls, and I believe it was satay chicken? I loved the satay chicken with their peanut sauce, soo delish. Their peanut sauce was something different. I'm so glad we discovered a new restaurant close to home, a def must try.

I have only been here once, but I cannot wait to go back. The place is really cute and clean, and it was not busy at all a little before noon. I had the basil crispy pork and brown rice. WOW, the pork was really delicious. The food had great clean flavors and they know how to cook brown rice. So far, this is my favorite Thai place in Milpitas.

It was okay. Pricey for tiny portions. I ain't no pig but it was just small portions for the price and compared to other places. Flavors okay. I think they cooked the rice with flowers in it. LOL. It hella smells of flowers or maybe they sprayed body spray on it. Not feeling that actually. Nothing great or good but just okay and not nasty or bad. My rating might be a little picky since I know Thai people and other related races that cook Thai food, similar foods and curries so I'm picky with my Thai food.

After a long day of dragging my a$$ around the great mall in repetitive circles my tummy decided to protest and occupy my liver (I know it doesn't make sense but just go with the flow) I quickly stopped my friends and said "Brahs we need to get food yo" since I am an OG and all. We stumbled upon this place through yelp. We got there and ordered. Of course being such a big pad kee mao connoisseur I had to order it. It was nom nom status for sure! I'd def come back when I decide to make a trip from SF to the Great Mall to provoke my tummy to occupy my liver again.

Just one word describes the service and the food here for me. It's very " Underwhelming" The portions are small and for the price, i'd expect a bit more. The taste of the food was mediocre and the service was pretty sad. The servers walk around with their blinders on. I almost took my phone out and called the restaurant to get the attention of the servers.

Great Thai food, we drive from Union City to eat here. Angel Wings, BBQ Pork and Pad Thai are our favorites but their salads are good too. But what makes this place better is the service we always get from PK,she always has a smile on her face and treats us like family. We appreciate that very much.

Came here for my brother's birthday celebration. A+ on getting us seated right away for a party of 9. Service was good and prompt. We had two servers - one server was very courteous..and the other...we didn't care for...she was short and brief...was lacking social skills I think. Food was ok - had better pad thai somewhere else..and for them to make it spicy, it looked like they just used the packet of peppers you would get when you order pizza! Not cool...I was not impressed. Their eggplant and fried fish dish - the fried fish seemed a bit "rubbery"...so not sure if the fish they used was fresh that day. Fried rice was pretty good. Anywho, would I go back there to eat? MAYBE. But they didn't leave me with a "wanting" feeling to go back there sometime soon.

I came here with my husband and his parents for dinner on a weekday night. We came at a good time because we were seated immediately, but they got busy very soon after. I had the pad thai and it was pretty good, but service was SLOW! After we finished eating, it took about 5 minutes to flag someone down to give us our check, and after my father in law put down his credit card to pay the bill, it took them another 20 minutes to pick it up. I mean, I understand that they were busy, but we were literally seated right next to the kitchen where the staff was constantly walking by us, so 20 minutes is a little ridiculous.

I'm going against the grain of all other reviews -- more due to their service than the food. Simply BAD service today of ignoring customers ! I came in solo today for lunch. Got shifted to the table by the bathroom even though the entire restaurant was only half full. Do they hate solo customers ? Another group and other pickup customers came in 5 min after me, and got orders immediately taken BEFORE me. I'm halfway done reading my paper already. I can't even get my order in -- not sure why. The short waitress walks by 10 times ignoring me. Owner / manager / older man is too busy collecting money. Not even water or a word saying hi besides the initial "How many". Geez, this restaurant is not even full so no excuse for poor service. Sad to say but after 15 min of being ignored, I just left the restaurant and told the short waitress why I'm leaving. I'm too busy to waste time - have to get back to work ! There are other Thai restaurants that give better service. Actually looking back, I can't say I've seen the waiters smile much at their customers... My family and I will avoid this business here from now on... In reply to the manager's counter below, I wish his diligence of time tracking had carried over to the actual service. I stand by my story. A group of 2 and other take-out customers after me got higher priority. No water or word to explain the wait. Several tables were clean and available under the trees, but manager had to use the table by the bathroom. I spent enough time to read half of the Metro newspaper and do email check on iPhone. I'm afraid the true facts are different. Lastly, the apology is quite strange. In any case, enough said. Moving on.

Probably the best Thai restaurant near my house. The place is clean. The service was fast and our server was very attentive and friendly. My glass of water was never empty. I was offered a clean plate in between my appetizer and main dish. The combo appetizer was well presented. My Thai basil chicken was made properly with plenty of fresh basil, minced chicken, and flavorful sauce but not overpowering. The portion size is perfect; not a mountain of food, just the right amount. Props to our server, Tony, for ensuring a good dining experience for my friend and I.

I came here tonight for the first time and it's pretty solid....almost a four...but not quite. Several of my friends and I had the Tom Yum Goong soup (medium), maybe we're just wimps, but it was pretty spicy....so much so that I couldn't really taste my Pad See Eiw until I was almost done with it. I wouldn't really complain normally, but since others noted, it is quite cold in there and the lighting is pretty bright, making it feel a bit more like a take-out restaurant than a nice sit down dinner. On the plus side, we had the special taro ball dessert, which was really good and I also enjoyed the bridal prawns appetizer. The Pad See Eiw was delicious, but standard. Overall it was pretty good and I'll definitely give it another shot.

Milpitas doesn't have many good Thai restaurants or that's what I thought until my husband and I ate at Honey Thai Restaurant last weekend. This place is only 5min from our house, and we went there only because we had a 10% off coupon. We are so glad that we did! We were surprised how good the food was! We ordered fried tofu appetizer, Salmon Panang and Pad Sew Ew. They were all excellent. We are a big fun of Thai food and have traveled in Thailand multiple times. The food at this restaurant was authentic, very flavorful, and spicy. The portion is generous too (the piece of salmon was huge!). We are so glad to find this place. We are looking forward to going back there and try different dishes.

Came here with the family on New Years Eve and perhaps we ordered the wrong dishes... The yellow beef curry was more like a stroganoff than a curry. The beef was the toughest we have ever had at a Thai restaurant. The chicken red curry was a more decent 3.5 star dish and the taro ball dessert was interesting. It it were not for the very attentive and pleasant service saves, this would have been 2.0 stars.

Nice place. Great staff, amazing food. The restaurant looked very clean, the ambience could use some spicing up but they are new so I will give it some time. When you pay for your bill you get a little gift for their grand opening which i thought was pretty cool and different. I most def will be going back to this place many times.

Pretty good Thai Food if you're a first timer. I randomly found this Thai restaurant in Milpitas today since I was craving Thai cuisine & found this. I was iffy about the amount of food we get for the prices, but I figured that they are worth it. I had the Salmon Panang, Green Curry(Beef), & of course the very own Pad Thai. All these three dishes were very delicious. I've been to other Thai restaurants and in my opinion the Green Curry was the best I've tried so far from other places. The Pad Thai was on point, tasted real good. As for the Salmon I think the better one would be at Krung Thai though it's filled with halibut which in my opinion tastes better, but otherwise this one here is still real good. The bill came out to about $40 including drinks as well, & I could say it was worth it. Overall this place is the best if you're trying to look for new good eats or love Thai food!

Pretty much your average Thai place. Portions are decent, everything tastes as it should, prices are standard. Nothing stands out as being amazingly good, but nothing stands out as being bad either. Pretty decent.

Way to bring good Thai food back in Milpitas. The five stars is based on the Thai landscape in Milpitas which has been less than stellar for a long time pushing me to travel outside of Milpitas for Thai. Granted I only had the yellow chicken curry and shrimp pumpkin curry everything else passing by smelled great and I'm definitely coming back to try more on the menu.

Been here a couple times, there papaya salad is woundefull! and there drink are yummmmy. the only thing that makes me put the stars down is that last time i went to eat some Pa Thai , whichhhh is my favorite food, and was quiet disappointed it tasted funny.

Not half bad. For the price, especially. Had the pad kee mao chicken. Asked for spicy and it was fairly spicy for my Indian palate. Was for take out-staff was super friendly!

Had the chicken yellow curry and my gf ordered pineapple fried rice.. The curry was delicious, the rice was good but I've had better. Overall a very convenient Thai restaurant, might be the new goto spot in Milpitas

Great food, small portions, and don't order the pineapple rice. The pineapple rice is not good at all and it costs $10.95. It had no flavor.

Come on, Yelpers! You're killing me. Extremely average Thai food with above average prices. All these four stars for this Thai place makes me suspicious of the reviewers.

I normally don't bother going to Asian restaurants, but I have been to Honey Thai several times - it's just that good! I've tried their tom yum soup, fried rice, pad see eiw, pad kee mao, beef green curry, and pad thai (sorry if I butchered any spellings). They are all FANTASTIC! Just the right level of spices - The owner and cooks are all thai, so this place is definitely authentic. My favorites have to be the noodle dishes - I am in love with the pad see eiw, and I barely even eat noodles (I like watching my calories -__-). The pad kee mao is amazing too - the medium is pretty spicy, the spicy is REALLY spicy, and I don't even want to think about Thai spicy haha. I completely disagree with one of the reviewers below, the portions are HUGE! My friends and I this past time all got our own dishes, and NONE of us could finish them. We were stuffed by the end. Be sure to try the desserts! Mango sticky rice is addictive - their mangoes are always fresh too. The fried banana is incredible too - comes with coconut ice cream . Yum! Try it! The servers are attentive and friendly, the place is peaceful and cute, and the food is definitely worth trying!

Food is delicious. Service is AMAZING! I drove five hours to get here and it was definitely worth it. Lots of people. Friendly conversations all around. Pad Thai portions are quite big. Thai iced tea is incredible. ORDER THE YELLOW CURRY. The layers of flavor tingle my palate- from sweet to creamy to savory.

Four of my girlfriends and I came here for dinner last night. Just as I was arriving the restaurant got busier and getting the servers' attention became harder. The food was very good. I thought the size was a little on the smaller side for the price. On top of that, service was slow and not as professional. The server instead of moving to a better position to pick up the plates, asked us to hand it to him and he also spilled the salad dressing on me. I guess they still need to work out a few kinks in their start-up phase. We ordered: 1. papaya salad - med. spicy was just right. 2. green curry (chicken)- also med. spicy. This curry was delicious. Had bell peppers, eggplants, and onions. The color was white though... 3. basil talay - a seafood dish that had perfectly done calamari. 4. Pad See Ew (I'm probably spelling this wrong) is similar to pad thai and I was pleasantly surprised that it wasn't dry like many other Thai restaurants. Desert: - mango and sticky rice - it was good, sweet mangos and sweet sticky rice. - roti - I initially thought this was an appetizer like other Thai restaurants but they drizzle condense milk ontop so now it's a dessert. Thank goodness for that! My favorite out of all the dishes!!!! When the bill finally came, we got a cute little red envelop with 20 Thai Baht bill in it and magnetic business card. Unique and cute! I'd come back here for the food but I'd recommend coming in before 6:30 PM.

Probably the best pad thai that you can find in Milpitas. Yummy food, good service, and typical Thai food prices. I also like that the location is convenient for me to get to. I want to come back to try other dishes.

OK; not A-OK Our usual restaurant was closed for a private party so we walked over to Honey Thai to check it out. The host and hostess were very nice and friendly. They asked us how spicy do we want each dish - we said medium. Medium Yellow Curry was fine but the Medium Basil Beef was too hot! It was covered in peppers - we couldn't finish it. The Thai BBQ Pork was one piece of pork and rather dry. It was hard to cut up and share. The portions definitely do not fit the high prices. We were sharing - family style and the portions were not adequate. I hope they figure it out and either increase the portions or lower the prices. Small location - seating limited. Glad we ordered to go. Who knows - we may try this place again. It's so hard to find great - not good - restaurant in Milpitas :O(

The basil chicken and chicken pad Thai are probably the best I've had in a while. Although the wait staff could brush up on their politeness, the food comes out fast, hot and delicious. I would recommend this place to anyone looking to calm a Thai food craving.

I ordered a pineapple fried rice, papaya salad and a green curry. When she asks me how spicy and I said medium. Then I laugh and said that I wanted a regular med and not a Thai med. Well the papaya salad was first I tried and it was so spicy that I can't taste the rice and the curry after. After cooling down I tried the rice again. It tastes ok but not great. Green curry was good but it didn't have too much veggie and portion was too small. Please improve and I would love to try again. ( I know you are reading the yelp reviews.)

Good thai food for very decent price. I liked the waiter. Both thenoad thai and salmon curry was really well prepared and presented. Great service and very decent food. Will go there again. Great place near home .

NOM NOM NOM my favorite Thai place around. I absolutely love the Pad Kee Mao, but not many places do it right. Honey Thai has it down, it's the perfect combination of savory and spicy. And the Mango Sticky Rice is to die for, I can probably live off of that for the rest of my life! If you don't try this place out, you're miss out.

  • K T.

Food is Thai. Service is not. Friendly service is very common in Thai restaurants. Not this one. My food was taken away before I was asked if I still wanted it. We were never asked if we wanted wine, so the wine list was taken away before we could even order any wine! So much for efficiency! There was also double standard where service is concerned. The Caucasian diners across our table were treated better.

Their pad thai is delicious. Their roti and mango sticky rice also delicious. I really like this place, its small and the decor is simple, but I continue to get great service and delicious food...thats enough to keep me coming back.

This is going to be my first review, and I gotta say this is a great place to go to! The atmosphere of Honey Thai was very cozy, homzy to me! Definitely very comfortable and enjoyable when I dined with 14 people in the restaurant. It was super busy on that day, but all the service did not slow down. The Thai Iced Tea was super good if you like less tea flavor in your thai tea. We had various plates for lunch that day, the best plate would be the yellow curry! Curry itself has a very interesting layers of flavors. You begins with some sweetness of the yellow curry than dives into the curry spice. One last thing, I am usually not a big fan of anything that has to do with coconut; however, the coconut ice cream that comes with the fried banana is SO GOOD which is something that you don't wish to miss out on!!!!

Food is very good and the service was excellent (although it was pretty early and there were only a couple of people there). The quantities could be a little more generous for the amount they charge. Don't get a soda there. It was two bucks for 12 ounce can. I'll still go back, but I'll stick with the beer instead.

Decided to give this new place a taste. I'm usually very particular about my Thai food. My friends and I came here for dinner earlier this evening and were greeted instantly by a young male server named Chris. We were quickly seated and given menus and waters all around in an instant. We took a while ordering because we were all talking and catching up with each other and he was very patient with us during the whole time. We decided to order family style so we could all taste the variety of the dishes that they had. So, we ordered the following: appetizer sampler, pad kee maw (sp?), pad thai, and yellow curry (all mild) & two coconut juices. I enjoyed my coconut juice because it's not as sweet as other places and there were a lot of coconut meat pieces. I think my favorite dish was the pad kee maw, it had the right amount of flavor and also the shrimp wrapped rolls were also delicious with the dipping sauce. The yellow curry lacked a bit flavor, it was kind of bland for my taste buds. The chicken that came with the appetizer sampler was a bit overcooked and dry for my liking. The service that we received during our meal was extraordinary though. Never before have I experienced such a pleasant dining experience. Our waiter was very attentive to our needs and always made sure everything was tasting good and that we had everything we needed. He wasn't shy to chat with us either, which was nice. He actually showed genuine interest in us and made sure that we were well taken cared of. I would definitely recommend this place to others who are looking to venture out and try new places to dine.

what a freakin joke! i ordered over the phone and my mom picked it up so i didn't get the chance to check the food and give them my 2 cents. 4 pieces of chicken satay (4 inches) for $7.50???? meat on pad see eiw was a joke! looked like they got lazy cutting it up and to spite the customers made sure it was well done...harder than beef jerky...the roti crepe for $3.50? please see picture...wtf? they must think ppl are stupid...ive never been this mad at a restaurant before...i think the cook hates his job cause they added huge pieces of chinese broccoli (the part you throw away!) in the pad see eiw...AND NO, I PAID FULL PRICE AND NOT SOME RESTAURANT.COM CERTIFICATE SO THAT MADE ME MORE MAD

Had the Yellow Chicken Curry (spicy!!!) for lunch with rice and a piece of watermelon. Very flavorful and creamy. Need to try Pad Thai and pumpkin red curry next. The portion was a bit small for $8.50 but otherwise I was happy. Great service as well.

Found Honey Thai from a Yelp search, and am so very glad I did! Ordered take-out for my friend and I: Tom Ka Gai, Pad Thai, Yellow Curry Chicken and Peanut sauce Chicken (forget the name), as well as some rice. All were VERY delicious and much enjoyed. One of the things I look for in a restaurant is meat quality- I don't eat mammal, and require my poultry to be white meat and of high quality, and Honey Thai did not disappoint- the chicken was perfect, and the shrimp were excellent (though I could have gone for one or two more). One thing that surprised me- the jasmine rice was really aromatic and jasmine-scented- very delightful as well as tasty, Honey Thai is close by, and the taste and quality of the food is superb: I foresee much more sampling of their menu. No, you don't get a ton of food, but I far prefer quality to quantity and the portions were completely adequate for my friend and I to have a full dinner and nearly a full meal each of leftovers. Hooray for Honey Thai!

I had lunch here with my family. I know it is located in a plaza that does not attract a lot of customers so I really hope it stays in business because it is a good Thai place I finally found in Milpitas. Their flat noodles are very chewy and fresh, their steamed fish filet in lemon sauce was very good and did not have any fishy taste at all. I know there are a lot of Thai restaurants out there but if you are looking for a good Thai place around Milpitas this place is a good option!

Our family of four had lunch there today. We ordered the appetizer sampler, pineapple fried rice, green curry with beef, pad thai with shrimp. Their portion size is small. The curry is tasty. The appetizer platter came with 2 dipping sauce, sweet chili and an excellent peanut sauce for the chicken satay. There was also a very small plate of marinated diced cucumber. We liked them so much we asked for extra. We were charged 75 cents. (unlike the free unlimited side dishes at Korean restaurants) The pineapple fried rice is bland. Pad thai is good , but the portion of noodles is so small.

Nice decor. The servers were very friendly but they forgot to give us water and utensils. So they lost a star. We ordered tom yum, pad see ew, and basil talay. All the food had a good clean flavor. I was full but not so stuffed it hurt. We'll be back to try some other dishes.

tonight we ordered take out and I was hoping that the last time we got food from here there was a blip, because the medium spice has been so inconstant.. one time it's Super Spicy, then the other it has no heat at all. Tonight our Pad Kee Mao has hardly any flavor and the noodles are practically white and bland, the basil chicken is watery and doesn't have the same flavor and depth.. something is up with the food/chef but i wish the "Old food" would come back because it used to be amazing. I'm going to have to try another place because the quality has gone down.

I've been eating at a lot of Thai restaurants lately, and this place was pretty decent. I came in with some friends, and no one was in the building at all, no employees in sight. Stayed for 3 min and felt awkward so we left. Decided after debating on another thai place to give it another try. Came back 15 min later and still no one.. but the employees were there! Waiter greeted us and gave us menus. Considering no one was there, I expected faster service, but I'm not complaining. It's been a long day and I'm sure that the food is made to order so it's probably really fresh (and it tasted really fresh!) The pad see ew was delicious. I got it with beef and it tasted great! The pad thai lacked in flavor and I wish they had sauces available. People came in, but there were still moments of awkward silence every now and then.

Their pad Thai is one of my favs! If I was in a mood for some Thai food, this is always that comes in mind when I am at work. Service is great and they recently remodeled their location to accommodate more guest. I always call in my order ahead of time so when I don't have to wait to be served. Overall, service is good and food is definitely delish!

Very disappointing. I ordered takeout after craving Thai food after a busy work day. The cucumber salad to go with the satay was only chopped cucumber with no seasoning at all. I ordered cashew gai and the website said it came with rice, but when I got home there was no rice. I called and they said the rice was only included at lunch. Very disappointing meal after a long day at work. There are better options for good Thai food.

I came here on a Sunday night and there was only one other occupied table besides us. I am not exaggerating when I say it was dead silent. I thought I'd give the place a chance but there are absolutely no redeeming qualities about this place. I had to go up to the cash register to tell them we were ready to order. They gave the other table water but completely ignore us until we made it very clear we needed water with a longer than necessary staredown. The pad thai was honestly, the worst I've had. It looked like pad thai, it smelled like pad thai, but it was just flavorless noodles with some coloring. The tom yum soup, which is known to be spicy and sour, was sweet and strangely creamy. The only thing that was good about this place was that the water cups were glass wine cups so it made me feel sophisticated. Besides that, it was a $30 meal for two that wasn't worth it.

I have eate here a few times already and by far the best Thai restaurant I have been to. Great service and everyone have a smile all the time. Love the how clean it is and the music for a very enjoyable lunch or dinner. Will be coming here again this weekend with a group of friends. Highly recommended if you are looking for a good Thai food restaurant.

The place is really small and I ordered take out. The restaurant looks clean and the staff was alright. I did not interact with them so it is hard to say how their service was for a so down restaurant. The food was more expensive than I expected it to be. I ordered the duck curry and that was a great disappointment for the price. They barely had any duck in the curry and they could add more flavor to the curry. They had pineapple in this curry and to my taste I was not a fan. Also do not eat the basil they have in the curry, it was hard and bitter. The house fried which you were able to select beef, chicken ot pork. Seafood was extra charge and this came in a very large portion compare to the duck curry. They had nice to go boxes and even double cover the curry so it would not spill. So that was nice. I probably will not come here again alone but maybe if I go with friends.

Went today and service was bad n slow as hell. I dont wanna blame the dude cuz he was the only one workin that nite but it was pretty bad. He forgot our thai iced teas n we had to remind him. Also, we ordered a Pad See Ew that he forgot to put in that we ended up canceling. The food took forever to come out, but maybe thats cuz there was only one cook or something. Id say our dinner took about 1.75 hrs, which is abnormally long for a thai restaurant. Service aside the food was meh. Food- Honey Thai Sampler: Took forever to come out. Probably one of the better dishes that we ordered. Everything came out hot n fresh. Taste was solid nuthin too crazy. Green Curry w/ Beef: The best dish of the night fsure. A lil sweeter than normal but thats ok. The beef was also decent n not dry. Tom Yum Soup: A lil more sour than normal but thats also fine. Decent amount of shrimp. Came at a decent time. Spicy Crispy Sea Bass: Major disappointment. For 18.95, I expected this to be one of the better dishes of the night. Not crispy at all and you can taste the doughy batter on the sea bass. I dont know if thats because it had been sitting out and gotten soggy(the dish came out cold) or if it just wasnt fried enough. Should have jus gotten regular curry, which I feel they do way better. Wouldnt recommend this dish at all. Overall, everything was jus ok and normally Id probably give this place a 3, which would still mean decent but having something left to be desired, however, the negatives on the service plus the crappy sea bass kinda bumps it down to a 2.5.

I've been to Honey Thai twice for lunch and both experiences have been nothing short of phenomenal. Don't let the nice decor fool you they are very kid friendly here. They immediately brought out a kid friendly plate, plastic spoon and spill proof baby water cup. The lunch special is a great deal considering the quality of food, service & ambiance. Their vegetable soup is delicious along with the chicken pad Thai and yellow chicken curry. My new favorite as of today is the basil chicken dish! I can't find anything like it in San Diego. I also noticed people grabbing take out & the size of their Thai tea cups. I think $2.75 for that size cup is a great deal too. Will make it a point to stop by again next time I'm back in the Bay!

They changed their management and chef. Food is no longer tasty. We ordered the same thing we always ordered. Pad Thai, red duck curry, fried rice. A little very sad that they all tasted bland, or too wet ( pad thai and rice). Though the decor was newer, the food lost me this time.

Only been here once and I didn't get anything special, just chicken fried rice with a thai tea. But, for the price it was a lot of food and the thai tea was good, just a little strong for my taste. The location is a little small and sometimes it felt a little cramped but it was overall a pretty good place to eat.

We came here on a Friday night and the place was empty. I thought it was strange because they normally would be "busy". Then I thought perhaps they changed ownership? Well, when I came home and checked Yelp -- sure enough, someone mentioned that they had changed ownership five months ago or so. Anyway, we ordered just one dish and it was good. No complaints about that. Normally we would order an appetizer and dessert, but in this case we didn't because we were turned off by the waiter being "sick". He was coughing openly (not covering his mouth). And in the kitchen, you can hear a few coughs now and then. It was not a good sign. The ventilation wasn't up to par in the dining area as well. There was this lingering smell -- maybe cleaning odors or something -- but we ended up getting "sniffles" after an hour and we couldn't wait to get out to get some fresh air. Service was fine because we were the only ones there, but sadly, we won't return. (And I do hope that waiter stays at home and get well -- or at least curb his coughing when he is in the dining area / kitchen. Customers observe these things, too.)

My company caters from them quite often. I finally had the chance to try the food in the restaurant. I was quite impressed by the service received. Their green curry with tofu and pad see ew noodles with shrimp was delicious! The curry was not watered down yet not overly thick. The noodles were eggy and flavorful I liked how they used Chinese broccoli in the noodle dish. Had their vegetarian egg rolls to start. They were freshly fried and came out steaming hot. Very tasty! It came with a sweet chili sauce which went well with it. I asked for some fish sauce too. Unfortunately, they wanted $2 for a side of peanut dipping sauce ( the same sauce they include with their satay dishes) The pad see ew was delicious! The shrimp was not over cooked like other places. It had a nice eggy flavor. I likes how they included American and Chinese broccoli. Also tried their green curry with tofu. It was good but I expected more veggies. There were two pieces of eggplant, broccoli, and a few pieces of tofu. I also ordered their basil tofu to go (for dinner). It was quite flavorful. I'm sure it would have been even better fresh. I'll be back to try their yellow curry, egg plant dishes, and soups!

in my opinion this place USED to be 5 stars but not anymore. i am not sure if they changed chefs, owners, or whatever it is not the same. they used to have the best pad see ew and pad thai around but not it lacks so much flavor compared to before. this is a shame i used to go here atleast once a week for a quick lunch but not anymore. this used to be my favorite place but now i guess i have to look else where :[

The food is good and the ambiance is nice but for the love of GOD, please change the music! I've been here 5 times and EVERY time, they have this Rhianna song changed to classical instrumental on a constant loop repeating. I can't take it! I have to order to go now. Please, your food is good. Just change the music!

Well, this used to be our favorite local thai food next to work. I suspect that they had a mgmt turnover, however, as things are VERY DIFFERENT. Last week they didn't answer the phone at lunchtime. Today, our favorite green curry is a pale, pale yellow (??), taste only remotely like green curry, and came in a much smaller package, but at the same price. While the size is still adequate (it used to be larger than necessary), the taste will prevent me from returning. Perhaps this will work for someone else, but not for me, sadly.

One night, we randomly found this Thai restaurant and decided to stop in for dinner. We started with their Sampling Appetizer which came with chicken satay, bridal prawns (shrimp in eggroll wrapper and fried), mini eggrolls, and a small cucumber salad. A good variety for the price. For our entrees, we ordered the Shrimp Pad Thai and the Yellow Curry which we asked for both chicken and beef. I'd probably just re-order it with just chicken next time since I didn't care for the beef. They offer brown rice as an option, which is always nice for people who are health conscious. FYI: The brown rice they serve is more of a purplish maroon color. Service was friendly and attentive, our waters were constantly refilled and that's always appreciated.

Always delicious. We had the Honey Thai sampler, Pad Thai w/prawns, Rama w/chicken, steamed rice, and Thai iced tea. Everything was very tasty, the restaurant was clean, the ambiance is nice, and it wasn't even crowded. Awesome place for Thai food.

WHAT HAPPENED TO THE THAI TEA?!???!! This was me and my girlfriend's regular spot for roti panang, chicken pad Thai, mango sticky rice, and their unique and one of a kind Thai tea. We came here enough that the regular Saturday waiter memorized our orders! Their Thai tea was soooo sweet. It was something you would have dreams about. We frequent Thai cuisines from King of Thai in SF to Bangkok Patio in San Mateo, and this was our favorite in the south bay! We are SO bummed they changed ownership. And we found out the hard way when we came in for our regular Saturday afternoon lunch. The decor inside was really nice. It looked like a completely different restaurant. The waitress said that the ownership changed but the staff and chef were the same. Although she said that, the old honey Thai is gone! So we got our roti, it was different and had a slight spicy kick to it. Good, yes. We then got our Thai tea. It tasted very powdery and saturated, like Quicklys. Ew. Such a big disappointment!! Then we got the pad Thai. It was rather dry and bland. Since it was their grand opening/customer appreciation, they were offering 10% off the entire bill, so a lot of people showed up. It's great for their business but they were understaffed, so service was super slow. We were so disappointed with the food that we didn't even want to bother with the mango sticky rice. Does anyone know where we can get the old Honey Thai Thai tea? I hope we're not the only ones that miss it! It's not somewhere we'd come back to, so our Thai cuisine for the south bay continues. We'll just reminisce the good old Honey Thai days in the meantime :(

VEGETERIAN TRIED Som Tum green papaya salad...very tasty Cashew vegetarian was good. Penang curry was too rich! Brown rice was actually red rice and very tasty. Ordered food medium spicy...spicy enough we didn't need to add additional Thai chilli paste Service was very good. Will go back again

Tried to dine at honey Thai resteraunt today but they refused to honor a entertainment coupon. Why, because the owner didn't want to even though the exp date is thru December. Bad business practice. Lost many potential diners as I will discourage anyone I know from eating there. A good business practice would have honored their commitment and not renewed it again after the expiration date! Rh

Update on 2/2- We did not get a call/email from the restaurant and now read that they have a new management and ownership. It's a shame cause today we will say goodbye to a local restaurant we supported for over 3 years. Neither my family or friends will be returning to this restaurant and their new staff. ---xx-- 2/1: The lady on the counter on 2/1 at 8:30 PM is the rudest server I have ever met. My husband and I have been regulars at Honey Thai for over 3 years and have always returned for the good food. Last year they messed up a large order of mine and made me wait 45 minutes past pick up time for an order. The owner at the time was good to acknowledge the mess up and fixed it when I brought this to his attention. This was not the case on 2/1/2015. I placed an order, our standard order and picked it up at 8:15 PM. When I reached home and realized they gave me the wrong product, I called to let them know. The rude lady server refused to acknowledge that she messed up the order and told me that I was wrong. We didn't make a big deal and continued to try to eat the order. Not only were we given a Pad thai when we ordered a curry, they made it extra spicy. My husband was not happy when he tasted the food especially because I am expecting and spicy food is not something I can eat. He called back and told them that the order was wrong and the spice level was unacceptable. The rude lady not only told my husband that he or his wife (me) had it wrong but also responded unprofessionally and hung up the phone. Our future phone calls were unanswered. We have left a voice mail to the owner and expect an apology ASAP for the behavior of his incompetent staff. We are not looking to make money of this, nor do we want free food. We expect an apology and/or at least a reprimanding of the staff lady. I can be reached via email and they are aware of my phone number too if they would like to call back. If this issue does not get addressed, I am willing to yelp and take this to the BBB as I will not allow a vendor to disrespect me and my family. -Smita

Had a group-on offer to try this place out. Pad Thai is A-ok! Kind of sweet, but the flavor was pretty darn good. Had some kind of green coconut curry with rice dish that I was not impressed with at all, all i tasted was the coconut milk really. The dessert of Mango with sweet rice was okay. I enjoyed the rice, which was really sweet and sticky, but they served it along with the most sour slice of mango I have ever encounter! I think this place is under new management now, so no idea how much of it has changed.

I will admit, I haven't had a lot of Thai food so when my coworkers suggested to grab some for lunch, I was all over it. Went in on a Monday afternoon as it was the closest Thai restaurant to work. Located at a shopping center next to CVS and Subway and across from McDonalds, the place was empty when we arrived but quickly filled up while we were there. We were seated immediately. I ordered the Pad See Eiw with chicken and shrimp. The noodles were super flavorful and soft, the chicken was moist, and they didn't skimp on the shrimp! The spicy level of their dishes seems to be good, as well. One of my coworkers likes her food spicy hot and ordered the 'spicy' option for her Pad Kee Mao. The waitress playfully asked if she would consider the 'Thai spicy' option, although she didn't, and felt that 'spicy' was hot enough! Two other coworkers commented that their 'mild' Basil Chicken dishes had some heat to it. Everyone at the table liked their dishes. The majority of us couldn't finish our plates so I'd say their lunch portions are apropros. We were too full from our meal to try some dessert. I would definitely come back if I'm in the area. 4 stars because I can't attest to the other dishes and spicy levels.

PUMPKIN CURRY IS WORTH THE TRY! --- THE DEETS: - Located at Beresford Square near the CVS and comic book store. - Voted Best of Milpitas - Came across this restaurant after doing a GNC run (right next door). ---- VERDICT: - Pretty impressive for a random dine in. We did no research on the place and didn't let the 3 star rating on Yelp intimidate us. Instead we went on instinct and dove right in. I am awful at ordering. I always try to order something interesting and out of ordinary, then fail as a result. But I did it again this time with some hesitation. I was going to get the Penang Curry because I figured, how hard could it be to mess that up. But then I saw the Pumpkin Red Curry right beneath it and thought ooh that might be a healthier alternative. So I got that along with their Jasmine Brown Rice. Boy, was I impressed! (Mostly astonished that I didn't disappoint myself at an awful meal decision.) This was an amazing meal. The Brown Rice was also fantastic. Looked more like Dark Brown (Purplish?) rice, but whatever it was I definitely liked it more than the Mahatma Brown Rice I'm used to. --- OVERALL: - Would recommend. Do try the Pumpkin Red Curry. I got mine with Chicken and it was more than enough, had to take the rest home. The sauce was delicious, it will not disappoint. #453

This place is my favorite place to eat in Milpitas! Here are a couple of reasons why you should come here: 1 Service are fast and friendly. 2 Big food portions and so many choices. 3 Place is really clean especially the bathroom. 4 Drinks are good and sweet. 5 Pad See Ew was the bomb. 6 Friends will loves it.

I haven't had good Pad Thai in awhile... every Thai place either makes it too wet, too sweet, or it just doesn't have enough flavor. The Pad Thai here after all these years is still my absolute favorite! The noodles are the perfect consistency and the flavors are perfect! Get it.

New decoration looks great! I love the pad thai and crab fried rice - the flavor tastes just right, not too oily like most of the other Thai restaurants. Pretty good portions too! Wish I wasn't too full to try their green tea flan cake though. Highly recommended.

Good food. Horrible horrible service. Expect to be completely ignored when you walk in if they are busy. And expect to wait a good 45 minutes for your food. Waiters are nice enough just overwhelmed. But they should acknowledge you when you enter. They need more than 1-2 waiters during lunch service. Been waiting at the door unnoticed for 20 minutes and waiter just came over to tell me to just go because the wait would be too long. Are you serious?

So went to lunch here at 3 on a Sunday. We were the only people in the place. It was nice and quiet. The service was fast and friendly, but the food however was nothing too special. Tasted good but about average Thai food. Not my favorite. We ordered Basil chicken , tom yum soup, and pumpkin curry with chicken. The curry was the best out of the three and I also liked that they have brown rice available.

Came here for lunch a few times but haven't had a chance to write a review. This place is pretty good. Service is always prompt and courteous. I ordered the shrimp pad thai and it was delicious. I like how the noodles are fresh and chewy. I hate overcooked too soft noodles. Pet peeve of mine when it comes to pad thai. Sauce to noodle ratio was good. Not too dry, not too wet. Flavors were balanced. Also ordered the basil chicken with jasmine brown rice. This is a simple dish but executed well. First time we ordered this it was a bit salty but this last time it was perfect. Great Milpitas establishment with quality food and good service. Lunch came out to $19.50 plus tip. 4 stars

I decided to try this place out since it was close to home and I really wanted some crab noodles. I ended up ordering a few other things just to try it out. The roti with penang curry was okay. I think I would've liked this appetizer more if I had eaten it at the restaurant. Since I ordered my food for takeout, the restaurant wrapped the roti in tin foil which made the roti on the soggy side by the time I got home. The roti isn't the fluffy light kind, it was more pancake-like. The roti still tasted good but it wasn't flaky enough for my liking. The penang curry was okay but wasn't anything outstanding. The crab noodles was disappointing. The didn't feel like there was enough crab or egg in the dish. My takeout was mostly noodles. It tasted good but I wish there was more crab and eggs! The mango with coconut sticky rice was delicious! The mangoes were just sweet enough to go well with the already sweet sticky rice with coconut sauce on the top. I loved it! Wish there was more because I felt like the portion was a little small. Overall, the food is okay but I've definitely had better. The portions are a little small and I felt they were a little stingy when making my crab noodles.

I ate here a couple of times and thought the food was decent. I especially liked their mango sticky rice. I even ordered it for take out a few times so that I could snack on something sweet while at work. It perplexed me that their rating was only 3.5 stars, but it finally made sense to me when I ate there yesterday. I ordered the crab fried rice, beef eggplant, and mango sticky rice. The food was okay, not amazing, but not bad either. However, the mango sticky rice was pretty disgusting. The rice was stiff and stuck together like a big rock. I ate a piece and had a hard time chewing. I could hear it softly crunch in my mouth. That is NOT supposed to happen with mango sticky rice. The rice is supposed to be soft and chewy. Even the mangoes were not the best that day. I was incredibly disappointed. We told the waiter who sent the dish back to be microwaved. It came back a bit better but it was still hard and nowhere close to what it should be. I'm no longer a fan.

We went there Dec 16 2014 with a group of 6 to celebrate my birthday. It was during the week and the place was quiet, and we closed the restaurant down. I love that this place is quiet...so it is great for a conversation. However the food is hit or miss this time. We had a few other people in our group so we ordered different items. I've had the best chicken green curry here always, and sweet and sour...but we also had a dish that most of us didn't like. Service was very slow and I had to wait a long time for the bill. We went again the week of Jan 12th 2015, with 4 of us, and ordered 2 of our usual dishes, the Chicken Thai Green Curry, and the Sweet and Sour Pork and then tried the Chicken Yellow Curry and a Shrimp Panang? which I am not absolutely sure what it was. All of us, this time absolutely hated the shrimp dish. We didn't touch it and there wasn't any attempt to take it off the bill. Service was slow - especially with the bill again. Plus they didn't have Fried Ice Cream. We haven't been back since...not sure when we will. Disappointing especially since our guests were from out of town and we raved about it before!

Plenty of parking. Clean inside. You can call in ToGo and it's ready in 15minutes. ToGo gives you the black tupperware that you can re-use. As for the food, my favorite dishes are the duck fried rice and pad see ew. What keeps me from rating them five stars is the pad thai...I've had better. Overall i highly recommend this restaurant. I end up eating here at least once every two weeks whether it's dine-in or ToGo.

Quite often I'm pleasantly surprised by the dishes here. My next order will probably consist of one of the following: Tom Kha Gai - Unfortunately, they only serve this soup by the bowl, not in the hot pots that I've grown to love. They don't have the best broth but the idea is there. Panang Salmon - The rich Panang curry is a little sweet but a lot of good. Duck Red Curry - The duck medallions are extremely tender with very little fatty skin, plus, the tomatoes and pineapple in the dish makes for an unusual melody along side the duck. Pla Rad Pik - We picked the filleted Tilapia version. It was swimming in a "spicy" homemade sauce that mainly consisted of garlic. Taro Balls - I read what I wanted to on the menu. I was hoping for the fluffy, white, taro donut things, although, I did like what we ended up with. The only item I've come across that I'm not really a fan of is the Pad Thai. The peanut sauce is slightly too thin for my tastes. The menu is fairly extensive so I've been finding plenty to keep me returning.

I love Thai food and this places doesn't reach the standard that I want. The famous tom yum gong was terrible. I would not recommend you to order it. BBQ chicken was dry and feel itchy eating it. The place was pretty cheap so I guess you get what you pay for. The restaurant is small and you would not be able to do a party if you want. They do cook and cater for you if you can find a different venue.

I hadn't had kow soi since I got back from Chiang Mai and when I saw this restaurant had it, I had to try! What a disappointment. Ordered the tofu kow soi to go. Asked the waiter about it and he said it's hard to make it authentic with the ingredients they can get. Both employees I talked to said they were from southern Thailand and I thought maybe they learned to make this yummy northern dish at least to semi-resemble what it should be like. Got it home and tasted it: tasted like tom kha - very sweet. Also, it was veggie, not tofu. There were no crispy noodles, pickled greens, small red onions, cilantro, or chili oil sauce (a substitute was offered - fine) - the guy I ordered from assured me that all the fixin's would be separate in the bag. Including these would have been some sort of consolation, as anyone knows who's had good kow soi knows that the stuff you add kinda makes this dish so good. So I got: a container of noodles and a container of watery, too sweet, not even very good tom kha-tasting stuff with about a dozen pieces of veggies in it. I did order the mango sticky rice and it was very good. So lesson learned - always check the bag (I was in a bit of a hurry as my mom was waiting) and don't eat kow soi until I get back to Chiang Mai. The staff was friendly and the mango sticky rice was good, so they get 1 star from me.

Trying out this place for lunch! So far so good, good service, chill atmosphere, clean tables and chairs, its nice to hear the chefs using that super thin aluminum wok to fry the noodle so it should have enough fire-power flavor =] Diving into the food- shrimp pad thai is quite tasty, but compared to the 25 baht street-side pad thai in Sukothai, this would be considered utter crap. Its pretty saucy, but there's no real taste that shows it had been passed over the fire-quite comparable to spaghetti in sauce. The noodles however are nicely al dente! Need more spices. Also tried the red curry fried rice- It is really nice and unique- the rice has absorbed the flavor from the red curry which has good spice content fpr flavor, but also Not spicy Service here is good, I'd come try more next time =]

I love Honey Thai! this place is super good for that thai food craving ;D I came here on a friend's recommendation and I'm so glad I did! This place is off the chaainnnnnn! Seriously though, the food here is pretty good! The service was also really good here, the servers were super attentive and I never had to ask for a refill on water which always nice :) FOOD: 1. Duck Red Curry: OMG CURRYYY :) this one is delicious. I love their curry because it's so full of flavor and spices. I really like richness from the coconut and duck. It is soo tasty! I couldn't get enough of this with rice! The portion is kinda small, I wish they gave me more ): 2. Crab Fried Rice: hmm soo good! they give a generous portion for this one :) I really like how they used a good amount of crab in there and the seasoning for the rice was delicious. It was really tasty and it just made me want more! 3. Crispy Basil Pork: this dish was also pretty good. The pork was very crisp and the basil flavor was really present. I wish I ordered more because their food is delicious! I will definitely be back to try more of their food, especially their noodles!

Decent thai food and inconsistent service. I've ordered: -Duck Red Curry (great flavor and depth of the curry but unfortunately chunks of duck skin and fat only) -Tom Yum Gai (HORRIBLE. Thai spicy soup...yet it wasn't even spicy, just sour. The serving was inconsistent as well, I had 2 mushrooms, tiny slice of chicken and a whole lot of broth, not lying or exaggerating here. My boyfriend had more substance in his bowl serving) -Pad Thai- more sour than what I'm used to and extremely oily. -Pad Kee Mao Talay (great flavor and enjoyed the addition of crab and oysters. my favorite dish here of the bunch) -Thai iced tea- I am a Thai iced tea addict. SUPER sweet, not impressed. Thought a second chance would change my mind about this place but so far, nothing impressive and left unhappy each time. I've had WAY better Thai food elsewhere. Maybe third time's a charm? We will have to see.

My son and I showed up at lunch time and to my surprise, not too many diners. I was a little apprehensive about trying this place but it's raining and we were hungry. We started with the chicken satay. Nothing special there: thin pieces of chicken breast marinated in coconut milk, grilled and peanut sauce for dipping. Next, we had the shrimp pad Thai: too sweet for my taste but generous portion of noodles and shrimp. If it wasn't too sweet, I would've enjoyed it far more. My son didn't care. To him, food is food and plentiful. Then came the crab fried rice. Large chunks of sweet crab in a perfectly fried day old rice. Not too salty or greasy. Just a perfect balance. In fact, we killed it! It was that good. Definitely coming back for this. Now, the highlight of the lunch! Deep fried tilapia in sweet and sour sauce. Crispy, sweet, tangy, earthy, just the perfect combination of Southeast Asian flavors. This is got to be the best dish I've tasted of all Thai cuisine. To complete the meal, I rewarded myself with a Thai iced-coffee. Sweet, and a hint of bitterness just accentuated this wonder Thai meal.

All Thai places typically have the same items on the menu. The one thing that makes this place shine bright is their Duck Fried Rice. It's sooooo good! You can taste the duck in the rice, there are pieces of duck meat in the fried rice, including skin if you like skin. I haven't found any other Thai place that has this dish. It's a must try if you come here!

Came by for lunch the other day. The location is across the street from the Milpitas City Hall, in the same parking lot as McDonald's. Started off with the Money Bags which were essentially a combination of shrimp, meat, and potatoes all wrapped up in a wonton wrapper. They were decent. The main course was the Pad Kee Mao Shrimps which was also decent. Ordered the mild and it came out mild +. I'm still not sure why there was a ketchup-y flavor to the dish... The thai iced tea was also mediocre. It was slightly on the sweet side despite requesting to have the beverage less sweet. We were too stuffed for dessert but I did have my eye on the fried banana with coconut ice cream! The waitress was non-Thai and was super friendly and attentive! When we arrived at 11:30 am, one of the kitchen staff let us in with her nitrile gloves and presented us our menus with her gloves on... I hope she changed gloves before she made our food...

I was here today for lunch and am a bit peeved, so this is more of a "how to improve customer service" review. I arrived at 12:30p and ordered my meal at about 12:40ish. Two of my friends ordered the crab fried rice, the other ordered a pad thai and I ordered the salmon mango salad. At about 1p, everyone got their meal. I waited. I was offered to try the dishes and so I did, AS I WAITED. After reminding ALL the servers my meal isn't out yet, I patiently continued to wait. My meal came out about 1:30p after I had said "just cancel it." I looked at my plate and saw a decently portioned salmon and the mango salad was basically a tiny slice of mango shredded over lime juice and what tasted like fish sauce. The salmon was temperature hot (which was a +) but was very dry. I was then told that it took so long because they made everything fresh. However, I have worked in the restaurant business since I was in the middle school and are you kidding me? Salmon takes 15 minutes to cook AT most (probably 10 minutes to grill the portion I was given) and less than 2 minutes to slice the mango and create the lemon juice. If you had told me you ran out of mango and had to drive to the local market to get some more, it would have been more believable or the fact that my meal order was forgotten in the process..... I was told that I would receive 50% off my meal. Hello! If it took 30 minutes + to get my meal, my meal should have been FREE. So, I told them, I'll pay for my entire meal but you can throw in a free dessert (I can't believe I had to ask). Great customer service would have done one of the following or all aside from keeping me updated on my meal: 1) notifying me my meal would come late and offering me a free appetizer or drink and/or 2) comping my meal or 3) offer me free dessert Other than that, I thought that the crab fried was was delicious. It was light, fluffy and flavorful although it lacked coloring that would probably deem it bland at first glance. The shrimp pad thai was cooked to perfection. It had all the right flavors, the cashews or peanuts (whatever it was) was minced small so the texture wasn't overbearing and it wasn't overly sweet at most other places. Why did I tip 18%? It was probably because bad habits are hard to change.... I would have given 4 stars on the food alone and 1 star on the service alone. If it wasn't for the ONE server who made more of an effort to care about me, I would have given it 0 stars for service.

Found an excuse to try this out with a friend. Went to dine-in for lunch yesterday...charming little place. At about 12:15 PM on a Friday almost noone was there though, which didn't seem like a good sign, but I'm happy to report that Yelp did not steer me wrong. I had the World Famous (yes, that's what it says on the menu) Pad Thai, and my friend had some other noodle dish, maybe Pad Kee Mao. Mine was very good. I tried to be good and only eat half, but when I got home I ate the other half (shhh). I can only assume my friend enjoyed her dish as well as she ate most of it while we were there. The service was very friendly and attentive. Food came out super quick, although then again, hardly anyone there. But it wasn't 1 minute after we got our appetizer salads that we got our food. Also worth noting is that I left my leftovers in the restaurant initially, but our server found me outside to give them to me. Nice guy! I will definitely be back soon...no negatives whatsoever to speak of.

First time to Honey Thai and I was impressed. We just moved in down the street and thought we'd try it out. I got take out on the way home from work. Here's what I ordered based on other Yelper recommendations: CRISPY BASIL PORK--Loved it. Really unique dish. I want to eat it again tomorrow. You know you've found a winner restaurant when you want to repeat your dining experience the next day. They said this dish was spicy, but not even close. That's OK because we throw in minced chili peppers at home to increase the heat. RED PUMPKIN CURRY--Another winner. Loved it and so did my wife who's from India. Rich curry sauce. We had it with chicken, but you can choose your own meat. CRAB FRIED RICE--Loved it. Something addictive about that salty fried rice. Again, I'm craving it again as I write this. Other plus points: ** Super friendly and helpful over the phone when I ordered. Easy to understand and communicate with. Sometimes it's not so easy calling Asian restaurants. She was patient with all my questions about what to try etc. ** They use plastic see-through containers for take-out. Not those white boxes. Thoughtfully plated even tho it was take out. Looked good out of the bag. ** I got a peek into the kitchen in the back and it looked clean and organized. Chefs were wearing plastic gloves and I just got a good vibe about the kitchen Usually when I try out a new restaurant, the ordering is hit and miss. Some dishes are great and some are misses. But all three of the dishes I ordered at Honey Thai were winners. I'll definitely be back and I will definitely order again. Next time, I'm ordering Pad Thai. What was I thinking!! Ignore the haters on this one. Maggie L says "nothing special". I couldn't disagree more. Trust me. If you're an Asian food lover, try this place. You're going to like it.

Me and a group of friends decided to try this place out for dinner. First of all good atmosphere, good service, and not a bad menu. This place is not spicy, but more on the sweet side. Overall not bad but would prefer a little less sweetness. I would recommend getting the Green curry here too! Enjoy!

I meant to write this review back in November, but my life was really busy with a newborn, for a excellent customer service. I was 8 months pregnant in November and had my husband pick up the green plant salad and steam white rice. I was so upset with the rice because it had a "funny smell" and looked kinda wet and yellowish...did not look fresh. I guess I am spoiled with fresh jasmine rice that my husband made for me. Hey, I was pregnant and definitely did not want to eat "unfresh" rice! So, I called the restaurant and I demanded to talk to the manager. Okay, I might have overly upset, but hey I was 8 months prego :) I was surprised when the manager offered to hand deliver a new container of rice. I was even more surprised to find out the owner showed up at my house with 2 containers of rice. He was very apologetic and gave me a 15% discount card.

The worst Thai food I have ever had. It is not even real Thai food. The Thai ice tea, pad see ew, the duck curry and the tofu satay are so bad. The restaurant has no picture of Thai Kings so it might not be owned by a Thai person. A Thai friend told me that an authentic Thai restaurant always has pictures of Thai Kings.

Tried this place after buying a groupon deal. Very decent food. We got the fried fish with sweet & sour sauce which tasted great and I liked the fact that they offered whole fish or fillets. Veggie pad Thai was decent but the noodle was a bit thick and chewy (more al dente). Got the pumpkin veggie curry which was a good choice and very flavorful. Also the crab fried rice was decent but a bit salty. You do dome crab bits but not as much as dome other Thai place I've been to. Also our waiter was very attentive despite being the only one for the whole restaurant. Oh. The hubby got a Thai tea but he said it didn't really taste like Thai tea because the tea flavor was not very strong. Overall decent food I would come back for but won't go out my way for. 3.5 stars for the food & the other half for having good staff.

I love the Salmon Panang here. Mmmmm the salmon is moist and cooked to perfection and the sauce really compliments and enhances the salmon. It's pricier, but worth it. I'm not too fond of the way the Thai Tea here is but it's alright. For dessert, the Taro ball soup is amazing! Creamy with a coconut sauce, warm, with delicate balls where there are actual taro bits inside. It definitely hits the spot! For 3 people, rice, 3 dishes and dessert, we were stuffed with a little to spare. So I'm not sure what people mean when they didn't have big enough portions.. Maybe they are just ravenous? The decor is very nice here. One of the best I've seen for a Thai restaurant. Service is always good. Overall, one of the better ones in the immediate area.

This place is a really cute and yummy Thai place! The portions are really big, and I had to force myself to stuff the food down because I didn't want to take the leftovers home since it wouldn't taste as good.... I really liked the Pad Thai noodles, the mango sticky rice dessert, and the fried banana dessert! :) Definitely coming here more often.

This place is pretty good. CLEAN, service is polite and friendly. Food is pretty good, but a little Americanized with flavor. We ordered the eggplant and beef dish, soup/gravy was a little flat, would have loved to have tasted the true flavor this dish could offer. We also ordered the bbq chicken salad, spicy, YUMMY! I don't know why this place has two $$ signs for price, we ordered 2 dishes with rice and drinks for around $25. We will probably visit this place again the atmosphere is pleasant, good value and it's clean. Hopefully there will be more flavor in our dishes next visit.

Wooow!! So glad I found this place with my friends! Service was awesome (we came at lunch...not really busy). We ordered: Crab pad thai: Okay so it wasn't pad thai, but it was some sort of crab dish SIMILAR to pad thai that the waitress recommended (riu na or something?) Noodles were a bit too overcooked/soft for me, but bf inhaled it! Comes with sprouts, small slice of lime, and carrots to mix in. Overall, it probably could have used more veggies and lime, but flavor was still good--not dry at all! pad see ewe: So flavorful! Wonderfully cooked...you can taste the heat of the wok (or whatever they cooked it in)! The beef was tender, though not the typical meat that you get at Asian places...this one CAN be considered a bit on the dry side, yet it is so tender/soft that it slides right off when you bite into it...can't quite explain the texture. Yellow chicken curry: They give plenty of delicious curry, which is mild, creamy, and great on rice! Only comment is that the pieces of chicken (white meat) were mostly dry, though cooking white meat is a hard thing to do. Papaya salad: Not quite like other papaya salads...this was not as sour and it didn't have the fish sauce taste in it. I'll admit I was quite thrown off. I actually don't quite like this dish, but my preference is probably the usual fish sauce stuff that I tend to get in LA. At least the papaya was crispy fresh and refreshing to the palate after all those carbs! Thai tea: Not as flavorful as other joints I've been too, but it wasn't too bad. Roti canai: Unfortunately, this came out looking pretty oily and dense. I must be spoiled by the Malaysian roti canai you can get at say, Banana leaf in McCarthy Ranch. Overall, I'd say a 3.5 out of 5. I may be biased/picky due to all the thai places in LA or SF (cousin's friend owns a legit thai place there), but it IS a good place to go in Milpitas when the craving strikes. Prices is VERY affordable for how much they give you, and overall the dishes were all pretty good (especially the noodles). Stick with noodles, and this place would be a solid 4!

This Thai restaurant does not hit the taste buds or the wallet right when compared to Orchid Thai on Main Street. Here is what we ordered: - Pumpkin red curry: Flavorful and decent, comparable to Sala Thai's pumpkin curry, but saltier. Loved the huge portion size. - Pad see eiw: Edible, but not the best tasting. Noodles had a burnt taste and was a little too salty. - Pineapple fried rice: Meh, salty side again. If they laid off the salt shaker, MSG, or whatever it is they put in these dishes, they may be worth trying again, but think I'll stick to Orchid Thai.

I love this place. First of all let me say I am a semi health nut now that I can gain weight on water. I try to find places that taste clean meaning not a lot grease. This place was perfect! I can't wait to try the whole menu! chicken satay -- I'd pass spicy crispy wings - I'd pass papaya salad - 5 stars. chicken eggplant w/ basil sauce - 5 stars Angle Wings - 5 stars Calamari - 4 stars yellow curry - 3 stars, I am not a curry fan so I can't rate this really Basil crispy pork - 3 stars but my friends loved this one. Just not a porkie kinda gal. Ginger chicken - 4 stars. surprisingly good Basil Talay - 3 stars. its okay but I'd rather have something else Egg plant & fish fillet - 5 stars! one of my fav! Lemon steamed fish - 5 stars. Pad Thai - 3 stars surprisingly average Pad Kee Mao talay - fat noodles w/ seafood. 5 stars, I'd rather have this over Pad thai anyday. Crab Fried rice - light and yummy. 4 stars. Pineapple fried rice - 4 stars Juhn Pad crab - 4 stars, nice change from the Pad thai Mango sticky rice, Taro Balls, Fried banana, all good!! Love Love Love!!! I'll be back soon enough :)

We keep forgetting about this place because of its inconspicuous location. Nice decor and ambiance. Waitresses were attentive and polite. Roti Panang, Shrimp in red curry, and Basil chicken were tasty. Wish they came in bigger portion.

I am so happy that I found this place. I've been meaning to leave a review for this place for the longest time, and now I'll finally do it. The restaurant is quite small, but intimate which I like. It's clean. The staff is friendly and even remembers me from past visits lol. I can't say enough about how good the food is here. It is my FAVORITE Thai place to go to when I'm craving Thai cuisine. Everything on the menu is good, and it still takes me a while to order because I want it all! Portions are good and I love their jasmine brown rice. I'll keep coming back here as long as they're in business. =)

Went to Honey Thai Restaurant in Milpitas because I read the reviews on Yelp & they have 15% off coupon in the January 4, 2012 Metro. Sweet! It's in the Marina/CVS shopping center on N. Milpitas Blvd & Calaveras, across from Milpitas City Hall. Place is clean, modern, w/ a fresh rose & candle for dinner. We ordered many items: Tom Kha Gai/cup $3.75 - it's like a small bowl w/ creamy soup, chicken, & mushroom in coconut broth. Tasty! Tom Yum Gai/cup $3.50-spicy soup w/ chicken, tomato & mushroom. Just ok. Thai Iced Tea - tasty enough, I liked it. B. got hot tea - small cup, but got FREE refills Larb duck salad - a good amount of cut up roast duck w/ some crunchy stuff, side of carrots & cucumbers. It was ok. Side of rice - enough for 1 or 2 light eaters. Green curry chicken -lots of curry sauce, 2 pcs of eggplants, lots of green bell pepper & chicken. Tasted fine. Jun Pad Crab - good portion on sticky rice stick noodles, some crab throughout. I liked it enough. Total w/ our coupon $37.20. Good melty mints given with bill. Separate bathrooms in the back on the Right. Women's had Winter Candy Apple hand soap - nice.

I had been to this restaurant in the past. Today, come back again because of new owner knows me from badminton. They are in business almost a month now. I am pretty picky on food. So, if their cook doesnt cook good food, I will still rate bad for them. The new cook definitely cooks better food. Will go back again :)

I am quite picky about Thai food, but this one is quite good. They don't go easy on spices, very tasty... Clean interior, friendly service and affordable prices (less than $10 a plate for most dishes except seafood).

The four stars average rating according to reviewers is such a lie. Perhaps diners have no idea what Thai food is supposed to taste like ....???? Is the chef or owners even Thai because the food is so disappointing and does not taste right. We ordered... Their "world famous tom yum gai" ordered medium spicy and it tasted straight sour with no spice, no lemongrass flavor, no galanga... If a Thai restaurant messes up on tom yum soup then that is a major red flag. We thought they got our order wrong but nope. However, they were nice enough to let us try another soup with coconut milk but still, no flavor. Pad kee mao with chicken - this was ok.. We ordered medium and this came out way too spicy, I couldn't even feel my tongue and had steam coming out of my ears. And where the heck was chicken !?!?!?? There were about 5 tiny pieces on our plate Lemon Steamed fish - bland, no real flavors except for the chili sauce to dip I hate wasting my time at a bad and overrated restaurant and now I've just wasted 5 more minutes having to warn people, DO NOT EAT here!!! One star for the friendly staff though.

I usually come to Orchid Thai to avoid this restaurant. I had tried it as least four times before I decided this place is not worth coming. However, I was crazily craving for Thai food yesterday and today, but Orchid closes on weekend and openes too late today. Service is inconsistent. Yesterday, I was greed and assisted by an unprofessional and unfriendly man. He did not make any eye contact, crack any smile, or say "thank you" despite my effort to be friendly with him. On the opposite, I was helped by a very nice and attentive waiter today. Other reviews said they usually provide excellent services. I guessed just I came at the wrong time. I remember the last dish I tried in this restaurant was Crab noodle. It was filled with chunks of real crabs; however, it did not offer a varieties of flavors except for being too sweet. I then decided to try this place again any soon. Back to yesterday, I ordered red curries with the choice of chicken. The curry by itself was flavorful and tasty, but the chicken was really dry. It felt like I was chewing some soaking wet writing papers. Today, I came for their World Famous Tom Yum Soup. Oh boy, they should changed it name into "The WORST Tom Yum Soup in The World.' No taste nor smell of herbs or other ingredients that can usually be found in Tom Yum Soup. It tasted exactly like chicken broth with floating tomatoes and mushrooms for decoration. It has been a long time since I felt so regretting for spending money on something. I just do not find this place suites my taste nor expectation of decent customer service. Probably will not come back to this place anytime soon.

Good food but the service wasn't great. My friend and i decided to dined here for lunch- we we're the first customers but the restaurant quickly filled up not to long after we arrived. But as soon we walked in the restaurant we noticed the nice, clean decor but NO SERVICE whatsoever. We waited for awhile until someone from the kitchen finally noticed us. And even when the server seated us, he didn't seem friendly or apologize for making us wait. What we order: 1. Red curry/medium spice/chicken-I substituted the veggies for potatoes and onions only. The curry was so good, although the medium size wasn't spicy at all. it had the right consistency (i hate when its too thick, oily, or overly salty) great flavor and the chicken/potatoes we're cooked perfectly :) Maybe one of the best curries I've ever had. Even my friend who is a picky eater enjoyed this yummy dish. 2. Som tum- This is pretty much papaya salad with ice berg lettuce, tomatoes, assorted veggies. My friend added prawns to dish for an extra $1. It was my first time trying this salad and i found it refreshing and delicious with a spicy lemony kick. 3. Jasmine brown rice- I LOVE their brown rice, it's different from what I'm use to eating. I found it more on the purple/brown side, super delicious! I'm definitely coming back to try their noodles dishes/green and yellow curry. I hope the service improves as well.

Totally yummy in my humble opinion ...:-) . This restaurant is a winner and a keeper for me. Shout Out and Big Ups: As you may know from my previous reviews, I am a terribly picky eater. I ate at Honey Thai Restaurant, thanks to my patient friend's last effort to select a restaurant that I would eat at. Thank you 'saint' for not giving up. We ate the following: (1) Drinks: Thai Iced Tea and Hot Tea - Good (2) Appetizer: Chicken Satay - Loved it!!! And I am not a big fan of chicken but this was lean and had a great texture. It wasn't rubbery :-) . (3) Entree: Crab Fried Rice - Oh So Super Duper Yummy-yummy-yummy :-) :-) :-) ! Grilled Salmon Mango Salad - very good, but next time I will request that it be cooked medium rare. Lemon steamed fish fillet - good taste and concept, but the texture of the fish was just not palatable for me. My friend agreed about the texture but still liked the lemon fish over the salmon. (4) Dessert: Mango Sweet Sticky Rice: I didn't like it...again texture I guess and I just couldn't get into coagulated, congealed rice for dessert. My friend said it was okay, but has had better. The service was professional and fast. The restaurant was clean and quaint. The good was fresh, hot and delicious. They even have an option to have food made with various degrees of "heat". I'll be back for sure :-) :-) :-) .

I love the food here! I usually always order the same things, which are Roti, Crab Fried Rice, Green Curry, and Pad Thai. I haven't really tried anything else to be honest haha. The only reason I give it 4 stars is because the portions are pretty small for the price. I usually get it to-go, so I can't say too much about the service. But usually when I call to order, it's done in about 15 minutes which isn't bad at all.

Recommended picks: - Crab Fried Rice - Jun Pad Crab - Angel Wings - Thai BBQ Pork - Thai Style Kai Jeo - Pra Ram Chicken - Basil Crispy Pork Honestly there's other Thai food that is a lot better than Honey Thai. But their food does taste really good. They're conveniently located close to home in the middle of Milpitas. Speed of service is pretty good and they do a great job at following up with you on how your meal is going throughout the time that you're there. They accept credit cards, accept reservations, and even have take out as an option. I frequent this place about once a week or every other week depending on time. And i think i'll come go now again for more! This is a must go place if you're in the area.

I've been here twice now and this is definitely one of the best thai places around town. And each time, they've given great service - never had to ask for a water refill, they're not pushy (asked them how much rice we would need, and they simply said just get one first and then you can order more later; other places would have just said, "oh, get 2"). And they're always friendly and attentive. Food: We've had the pumpkin red curry with chicken, and also with duck before. Both times were great. Medium spiciness which actually is more of a mild as compared to other thai restaurants. The papaya salad (mild) - was somehow spicier than the curry, but it was nice and cool, fresh, and tangy. Definitely a good starter. Has cashews though, so be aware. We also have tried the bbq chicken with thai spices. It was pretty good. Nicely grilled, comes with a sweet sauce sorta like Mae Ploy's. The chicken - just think of how it would be on a satay skewer, but just larger portions. Well cooked, but i wouldn't say it's great. Eggplant with fish fillets - this dish was tasty, however, fairly oily/greasy it seemed. But the fish was cooked nicely and so was the eggplant. I'm staying away however, given the grease level. We asked for brown rice and it's a very red/purple type of brown rice not normally offered in other restaurants - very loose, but i like it a lot. Holds the curry well. Ambiance - is definitely nice, nothing crazy. Price - very reasonable for the portions. However, they have the dreaded tip calculator, which i hate. But, given the quality of service here, i don't mind. I'm definitely going to continue to come back.

I would say this place is average, therefore 3 stars. Starting with the food, i definitely had better, and something worst. I had a chicken noodle, they were cheap on the chicken gave me maybe 4 small piece. If you are meat lover, be careful. I asked for "Thai spicy" for the spicy level, I was hoping for some good Thai pepper but they made it spicy by adding some spicy sauce. I had been to Thailand a couple times and i just dont think Thai people use whatever spicy sauce instead of the pepper. Service was again OK, nothing stands out. Cleanness was acceptable, looks like newly remodeled with a semi modern feel. Price was a bit on the high side for lunch in the area. Bottom line, if you happen to be near by and want some convenience Thai food this place is not bad.

Thai food is one of my favorite cuisines to eat. I'm so happy that there is a new Thai restaurant close to my house. Honey Thai opened in July 2011. The decor in the restaurant is minimal, but the food is delicious! We ordered dishes with medium spicy level and it was spicy! It is refreshing to see a Thai restaurant who knows their spicy level. We tried these dishes: 1) Pad thai with shrimp - Noodles were not mushy. 2) Eggplant and tofu - Sauce was a little salty, but eggplant cooked perfectly 3) Green vegetarian curry - Yum! Delicious sauce, but it was a little watery than I'm used to. 4) Massamum Beef with potatoes and peanuts - I tried the sauce which was spicy. 5) Thai BBQ Chicken - I didn't try this, but the dish looked good. Like what other reviewers said, the portions are smaller. You can always order more dishes and/or rice. Service was good. You can also book a reservation on OpenTable. Can't wait to come back to try more dishes.

Traveling thru Thailand I got my share of traffic, smog, heat, and just about every other uncomfortable feeling one can associate with in being in a country with too many people all clustered in metropolitan Bangkok. That's why I prefer to stay in the rural beach towns. No matter where I go in Thailand, good food always seems to follow me. Just about every place I ate at had the customary fish sauce, basil, and bird chilies. The dishes at Honey Thai also packed the wallop of flavors, but I know they ratchet it down for the super sensitive tongues most of the diners here have. Not me. I asked for dishes to be 7 on the scale, and it just did not hit me. Next time I'm asking for a 12. And yes, I will be back.

Really 3.5 stars for taste, but I rounded down because the prices are a tad steep for the amount of food you get (could be biased since Thai food in Berkeley is super cheap!). Red curry prawns 4/5 - for $9, there's only about 5 or 6 prawns given. Their red curry is excellent and I love the mix of veggies. Eggplant and tofu 5/5 - their eggplant is sooo soft! It's a tad oily and the tofu is a little hard, but the eggplant is prepared so well it's hard to not get this dish. Sampling platter 2/5 - eh, could do without this appetizer. Just a bunch of fried foods and chicken/beef satay that don't have anything special to them. Pad thai 4/5 - it's hard to beat Krung Thai's version, but their's comes close. It's a good mixture of sweet and crunchy, just not a fan of their noodles. "Healthy" Jasmine brown rice 3/5 - it isn't great, but it isn't bad either. It's not sticky like white rice and has a grainy, somewhat crunchy taste.

After trying pumpkin curry a few years ago, I'm always on the lookout for this dish. I don't know why, but I've had a hard time finding it at Thai restaurants in the South Bay. The red pumpkin curry with chicken at Honey Thai was worth the wait! The sauce was a rich dark red, and the flavor was just as rich. Even when the pumpkin and chicken were gone, I kept eating the sauce on top of some rice. The crispy pork with basil is another must-get. Actually, everything we tried was very good, including the the chicken larb salad. Service here is very friendly, and I know I would be a regular if I lived closer.

I love me some Thai food and this place is my go to anytime I need to satisfy those cravings. Albeit on the smaller side, Honey Thai is the ideal place for family dinners, friendly outings, and even dates. Let's start with the ambiance, the place is always quiet with soothing music as backdrop for your conversations. The servers are incredibly caring and never too pushy (coming from a former server, I know that's a hard balance to strike). Now getting on with business to what we're all here for, the food. Jun Pad Crab is my weakness and Honey Thai gets it just right, a perfect blend of garlic and crab with nice kick of spice. The Pad Kee Mao is also a favorite, they've changed chefs since I started coming here but the new version is definitely an improvement, the meat is always cooked perfectly while the noodles are soft yet chewy. Dessert is a must here, I'm in love with the fried banana and ice cream, I have no idea what's in that ice cream but there are crunchy and chewy little nuggets of goodness that rounds out an always amazing meal.

I love love love this restaurant! I've been here several times and every visit has been extremely pleasant. The decor is very calming and tranquil. It's not over the top and I like the ambiance. I wouldn't say this is a romantic restaurant, but it'd be a fun addition to a casual date or work lunch. The food is always great and comes out quickly. I love the Pad See Eiw with chicken and the Basil chicken! They give you an option of how spicy you want to make your food which is perfect for those who love or hate spicy foods. The service is fast and the waiters are friendly. I'd recommend this place for anyone that likes Thai food!

I looked this place up on yelp and decided to try it because i live in Milpitas and never knew this place was here. There isn't a lot of people right now but my first impression was wow its a cute place. The hostess was very nice and shes on point. Honey Thai delivers a solid 4 star experience for a quaint neighborhood restaurant. The food and service were quite good at this budget price point. Both reflect significant care and prior operating experience. I went for a late Saturday dinner as I didn't have much of an appetite. Thai and Japanese food are usually on call for such occasions. The newly renovated and tasteful decor was a welcoming sight as we arrived at 8:40pm. There were still 4 other tables at the late hour. Our waitress serviced us very promptly and we had our three items ordered within minutes. We went for the crab fried rice, the yellow curry with chicken, and on one Yelper's glowing recommendation, the crispy pork with basil. The first two came out within a few minutes and were both satisfyingly hot and full of flavor. The crab fried rice was infused with the essence of Dungeness crab and had actual pieces of crab meat sprinkled throughout. Unfortunately, the crispy pork with basil was a huge, huge miss. I suppose if dried ramen noodles were a regular meal for me, having pieces of pork deep fried until they crunched like pork rinds would sound like a dream. Otherwise, it's just not a suitable combination for an entree. Perhaps as an appetizer? Anyways, I shoveled down about a dozen pieces and could already feel my stomach starting a revolt. When we called a hard stop on the dish, it looked like we hardly touched it. I'll have to be more careful in reading the profiles of the Yelpers making specific recommendations. Here's where amazing service can rescue a bad experience. When our waitress saw the untouched pork dish, she actually inquired how we thought about it. That's literally the first time somebody asked in 3-4 years. We gave our feedback and she immediately said she would take it off our bill. Since it was only an $8 dish, we felt we got our money's worth in just curiosity value alone, so we declined. But, when the bill came, she had taken it off anyways. For such impressive responsiveness to customers, I tipped 30%, a rarity for me. So, we tabbed out at a mere $28 with tax and tip. I would probably have given a full five stars if it were for the enormous Asian drama queen sitting at an adjacent table. He whined incessantly in an effeminate voice about trivial daily happenings. His complaints about how having new co-workers frightened him or his multiple optometrist appointments just grated on my nerves, almost as if somebody had been scratching their fingernails on a chalkboard throughout my entire meal. For that alone, I'll have to come back soon so I can enjoy the food without such a distraction.

YELLOW CURRY FEVER HAS ME A CRAZY. This place has clearly upgraded in the quality of their food since their opening. I've stopped by a couple times within the last month, and I've always left happy. But it is it really the quality? Or it is it because of...YELLOW CURRY FEVER?! Jay to the kay, the food here has improved immensely. I highly recommend the pad kee mao with medium or hot spice! So delicious. Noodles are cooked perfectly and oh so chewy, and the spices and flavor have leveled up. One thing that did bug me though was we were offered the choice of it being served with beef, but our waitress left out on the fact that beef costs about $2-3 more then the regular. So buyer beware on that! Twas good though, I just don't think the increased cost was worth it. Good ol' chicken is dandy enough. Oh and I did I mention how amazing the yellow curry is? It's probably the best thing on their menu. Of course, I haven't exactly tried everything to justify that statement, but trust when I tell you that is indeed amazingly orgasmic. It's a bit on the sweeter and mild side, which is heaven for me. Chicken and potatoes inside were also cooked perfectly. Ugh, I could drink buckets of that yellow curry. Brown rice here is also a big high five, never ordered my yellow without it. Thai tea is creamy and very sweet, so sugar lovers rejoice. WILL BE BACK FOR MY YELLOW CURRY. Oh and my anecdote for one of the lunches I had here: I was slightly choking on some spicy food. The waitress was watching me and laughing in the corner. HOW DARE YOU.

Ordered the pad see ew with chicken to go here and was satisfied with my purchase. It was flavorful, without being too overpowering (i.e overly sweet or salty). I finished my serving craving more. Conveniently located in the same plaza as CVS and Osh Kosh for reference. Also, they are closed in that awkward time from 3pm to 5pm, so be aware of that before you make the drive there.

Crab noodle - it's ok but nothing outstanding, barely see crab red curry with chicken - the chicken was very tough but curry has decent taste $10 average for lunch, and the size is on small side

The food here is amazing, it's just too bad the service doesn't match. My friend ordered the 22oz of their specialty beers, but they gave her the 11oz instead. But worse was when she asked for the vegetarian option for a dish, but they gave her one filled with chicken! We had to wait for them to remake the food so that she could eat with us. Ugh. But the food itself was amazing. A great thai food find in Milpitas. I ordered the Jun Da-something, which was stir fried flat rice noodles with crab meat. Oh god. So good. I was looking forward to eating the leftovers all day today. My friends wolfed down everything on their plates, so it must have been good too! I'd definitely be back for the stellar grub!

Yummy!! This place is delicious. The flavors are savory, sweet, spicy all in one bite. The food is extraordinary and is a "one of a kind" Thai place. My fiance and I ordered the Bridal Prawns, Roti Panang, Basil Crispy Pork, Pad Thai Shrimp, Mussamun Curry with Beef, Basil Fried Rice with Beef & Spaghetti Pad Kee Mao. We ordered all of this and never went wrong. YUMMY!!! Within one week, we have been to Honey Thai Restaurant 3 times. We have also decided to use them for our event on Christmas Eve. On top of the delicious food, the service was wonderful. Thai, Fawn & Andrew brought "above and beyond" service and made our dinner there very comfortable.

I hedge at giving this place 5 stars because I think there are certainly other Thai places that have great food. I went in the middle of the afternoon on a Sunday, so I wonder what service is like during the rush. The restaurant is small and clean, decorated with ornate Thai art. Midi-sounding music plays on repeat in the background. The employees are friendly and provide wonderful customer service. My friend and I ordered the money bags as an appetizer, and they came out lightning quick, which was a good thing because I was starving. Money bags are essentially deep-fried dumplings which are wrapped in wonton wrappers instead. A potato-chicken-curry filling was pretty tasty. We had a curry dish and the pra ram chicken. I opted for the healthier brown Jasmine rice, and I thought that was a nice option to have. I liked the curry although some of the potatoes were slightly undercooked. I also would have preferred this dish to not have peanuts. The pra ram chicken consisted of sliced chicken over a bed of greens, covered in peanut sauce. And by peanut sauce, they mean a warm, slightly chunky, peanut butter. It was definitely a different dish, and it took a little getting used to, but, in the end, I liked the contrast of the peanut butter and the sweet greens and the chicken texture. The prices are reasonable, 50 bucks including tip for appetizer, entree, dessert, and drinks. I'll come back and give my opinions again when the time comes.

We were there around 230pm on a Sunday. There were two tables with customers and us. They had 2 servers on duty who did the minimal requirements and nothing extra. We started with the tom yum coconut milk soup, it was terrible. Not one of us liked it. The soup was bland and watery. The crab fried rice and the pad thai were delicious. The green curry chicken was ok, but lacking spices. The recommended special , a filet ( one) of talapia in lemon juice was marginal at best, like microwave fish with lemon juice squeezed on top, definitely not worth the $14.95. Overall, this place was a disappointment, definitely not worth the $97 i paid with 15% tip. They told me that if I came back, i could receive 10% off my next bill. No thanks. There are definitely better thai restaurants than this place.

I was so disappointed in their food and service. I don't think I can go back there.

When I called to make a phone order for food-to-go, I said pad thai with "peanuts on the side". The young woman who answered the phone had PERFECT ENGLISH even repeated my order that my pad thai would have "peanuts on the side." When I pick up my pad thai, there are NO PEANUTS. Pad Thai had only 4 pieces of shrimp. Perfect English, stupid mind.

Came here for the first time and I will be going back! Just had some pork pad thai and green curry with white rice. Pad thai had a melt in your mouth taste and came with bell sprouts, tofu, shredded cabbage and carrots, but very little peanuts..but still tasted really good. Portion was more than most places I've been to. Green curry came in an average portion. Sauce was delicious but could have had a bit more meat. We had white rice with it, which came in an individual serving. Wish there was more rice in the portion as well. Overall the dishes tasted very rich and flavorful. Service was casual, decor was pretty nice with real roses and candles on every table. I saw a sign outside that says the month of September you get 10% off if you dine in or take out. I came today on Aug 30. Laaaame for me! But it's ok, I'll be back.

Good quality of food but pricey for the quantity. Got a 10% off coupon so thought we'd try it out. The place was neat and tidy, very friendly service though we did a take out. Like the menu which includes some not so common dishes. We tried Mussamun Beef and Basil Talay, both seemed to be the same curry sauce, strong in coconut flavor, creamy, consistent and delicious. Though we asked for 0 spiciness and the items didn't have a chili next to it, they still tasted spicy. We also got a crab meat fried rice, also nicely mixed. However, the portions are pretty small. They give us those plastic microwavable to go boxes, which already don't hold a lot to begin with and the curries were barely half of the box volume. We also found some interesting Thai drinks they carried, so we tried the Herb Sign Bael (buddha fruit) and Goto Kola (green power). Both tasted good, especially the Bael. This is a plus compared to other Thai restaurants.

3.5 stars. Above average but not quite the 4 stars, but solid good Thai food served here. I was here with coworkers for lunch. My green curry with prawns had 3-4 prawns and veggies - solid good curry. Order with wild ride, it goes well with curry. My co-workers orders Thai BBQ chicken and red curry lunch dish, my coworkers liked both dishes. Again wild rice is pretty good here. Friendly server and quick service for around $10. I am sure we'll be back here for lunch, especially now my coworker found a favorite sever here :) Haha...

First visit! Came here tonight for a friend's birthday at 6:30PM. It wasn't too busy at first but it quickly picked up. Portion sizes were just right for me... but probably on the smaller side for most people. Also, I think prices were a bit high for the portion sizes. We had a group of 5, ordered 4 dishes and 2 dessert plates, and finished everything. Here's what we ordered: - Som Tum (Papaya salad) - Green Curry - Basil Talay - Pad See Eiw with Chicken - Mango with Sweet Sticky Rice - Roti with condensed milk As we were waiting for the rest of the party to come, we started reading yelp reviews so we knew we had to try the mango sticky rice dessert. The mango was super sweet and the sticky rice was just right. We also tried the roti with condensed milk. I'm used to eating roti and dipping it in the sauce but I think I like the sweetened version much better. Overall, the food here was good but the service was a bit slow. It took awhile to get the server's attention. P.S. If you come during the month of September, there's a promotion for 10% off. P.P.S. The AC was on too high so bring a jacket/sweater so you don't get too cold.

Hm. I was told this place was really great... maybe for Bay Area standards but definitely not if you're comparing it to socal establishments. We had their green curry, which was the best dish. Maybe about 3.5 stars. Good Flavor. We also ordered the pineapple fried rice and pad thai, which were okay. Pad thai lacked flavor and tang that I have been accustomed it. Service was great!

Honey Thai was a relief to go to after having mediocre Thai food in Fremont. My bestie and I ordered the red curry with beef and brown rice and pad thai. The red curry could have a had a bit more of a spicy kick and flavor to the meat, but overall it was quite enjoyable. I would probably try one of the other curries next time. The pad thai was ENORMOUS. I absolutely loved it! My bestie and I could barely finish both dishes. I was shocked to see a tiny young lady scarfing down the plate of pad thai on her own...thats how good it is.

Overpriced and ok food. It's better to drive out to another thai restaurant than to go to this one. We ordered the papaya salad, pad thai with shrimp, and the salmon panang curry. The papaya salad was the only good thing we ate. Pad thai was wet and tasted ok. The salmon panang curry was gross. It tasted weird and the curry was spread on the salmon like it was gravy. My bf and I were thinking it would be in a bowl like most curries, but we were definitely surprised when we saw this dish.

I visited this place for the first time recently and thought that it was really good. We ordered the Pad Thai with shrimp, Red Curry with chicken, and the Lemon Steamed Fish Fillet. The Pad Thai was flavorful and I was glad that the noodles were coated with enough sauce. The red curry was very rich and bold in flavor and had a thick consistency. Both dishes were actually fairly similar in flavor. I was excited to find the lemon steamed fish dish on the menu. I had eaten a similar dish at a Thai restaurant in Santa Barbara a while back which I really liked, but I had yet to visit a local Thai restaurant that served that on the menu until now. The fish fillet itself was all right but the spicy and tangy sauce that coated it was as good as I had hoped. The fact that they offer this dish is enough to bring me back. Service was decent and our food came out pretty quickly. There's ample parking since the restaurant is located in a large shopping center.
