Don't know why but I went here again. Have to say the second time was better. So I will move them from one star to two. I guess I will have to go again as the 3rd time may be the charm.

This is the best Chipotle that I've ever been to. In my experience, all of the staff are friendly and energetic. The portions are the biggest I've ever received at a Chipotle and they sometimes even need to double wrap the burritos in foil since they are bursting at the seams! The staff is also accommodating when it comes to requests (I like extra beans and rice since the rest of my toppings are sparse) and they always deliver to ensure that I get my money's worth. They sometimes even don't charge my significant other for guac because I get so few ingredients on my burrito, which is considerate of them.

Chipotle is my favorite resturant hands down....and this location really dissapointed me. I wasn't aware $8 for a burrito bowl constitutes a half a scoop of chicken... and when I asked for more he LITERALLY tossed in two more measly cubes. Then to tomatoes, I cringed as he put the absolute most he can on the damn spoon and then grabs a half a scoop more. Thus leaving me with a tomato bowl and about a cup of tomato juice pooled at the bottom - gross. I guess that was just their cheaper way of adding bulk to the bowl cuz this is by far the worst Chipotle I've ever been to. Ps. Staff was very nice hence the 2nd star.

the employees are really rude. ive went there many times, and in the past few months, the service has just gone downhill. its almost worth it to go to the foster city chipotle just to avoid millbrae's employees.

Wow people, come on! Give this place a break!!! They just opened, not everyplace has all the kinks worked out right after they open! And, in case you haven't noticed, this isn't authentic mexican food - it's totally americanized...they don't claim authentic people, get over it! They guy who started this chain is haole (that's honkey for you who don't know). Yeah, the price is more than you would pay for a taco truck or any other taqueria - but have you noticed that they're using meat that hasn't been pumped up with hormones and other crap? And not only that, they support family farming, use organic and order from sustainable growers? Nope, you probably didn't notice that... Well people, all that shit costs money!! Hellloooooooo...... I've been twice already - each time, I've been totally pleased with my order. I didn't find it overly salty, and yeah, they don't give you free chips (not much in life is free these days people!), and for sure the guac is pricey - organic avocados are not cheap. The service IS fast, friendly and, according to my tastebuds (which also appreciate Pancho Villa, Papalote and El Tonayense), it's tasty! Bottom line people...it's not authentic, it's expensive, it's a chain and there's nothing free (except a cup for water). If that bothers you, go to taco bell - even they don't give you free chips...

Usually I love chipotle. I love their crunchy Tacos with steak! My bf & I got the tacos & Burrito with chicken. A man complained about how his burrito was cold so they stopped serving everyone in line and made him a new one as I waited there for my tacos to be ready but it literally took 7 minutes from the time I ordered them to the moment I paid! Ridiculous and my food was cold. The steak wasn't even warm! And neither was my bf's chicken! I don't understand how no one else other than me and the man before me complained. Not going back to this location!

love it love it love it. for take out in the millbrae area this is one of my favorites...i always get the burrito bowl with chicken and black beans....the refried have lard its kind of expensive compared to going to a proper taqueria but there are none in that immediate area.....

Very fine Chipotle. They made me a massive chicken fajita burrito and a super strong margarita. By the time we left I was pretty sloshed... and it was only lunchtime. Sad, I know. But cheap Chipotle margaritas will do that to you. A Google Street View car passed while we were eating on the patio. I hope it captured this amazing moment in history.

This chipotle location gets pretty busy during lunch time, but they are well staffed to deal with lunch crowds. So dont be deterred by the seemingly long line. Sometimes its hard finding a seat if your going to dine in. At all chipotles I really like the corn salsa. Anything I order at chipotle I get two scoops of corn. However, at this location the corn tasted a bit frozen when taking my first bite, but it thawed as I ate the rest of my meal. I really enjoy chipotle, because the flavor is different from what I consider "authentic" mexican food but still tastey. If you desire more authentic mexican food find a taqueria. Anytime I eat at chipotle I'm pretty much guaranteed to leave on a full stomach.

So good. So fast. I love this place - and I read on some in flight magazine that the founder is all about going green - which helps my conscious... Apparently the chairs and tables are all made of recycled materials and they buy local as much as possible... and supposedly use good quality meats, without hormones - don't quote me on it tho - I haven't validated the claims - but it sure makes it taste better for me. But really the food is just solid and tasty! I dig the carnitas (totally healthy...right?) and also the barbacoa (shredded beef) - we usually get the 'bowl' and the fill it up nice - our go-to move is the carnitas with lil rice, black beans, and extra corn salsa - oh and u can ask for the sauteed peppers too - good stuff! All dat for like $7 or $8 not bad yo!

The food here is really good. The menu is small but there's other stuff not on there that you can still order. But, the price is ridiculous. Flat-out ridiculous. They charge almost $2 for a scoop of guacamole and don't tell you it's an extra charge. The chips and salsa are almost $2 as well. The burritos keep going up in price - e.g. the picture on Yelp here shows it as $5~ but now it's almost $6.80 for a chicken burrito. Still, the barbacoa is to die for and the quesadillas are yummy. Just, needs, better, prices.

I LOVE CHIPOTLE. In fact, I have the Chipotle App on my iPhone which lets you place an order (and pay for it!) and pick up within 15 minutes (but you can designate a later time as well). The reasons this place does not get the extra two stars are the following: 1. Portions have never been consistent. Depending on who is working/time of day, sometimes I'll get a super stuffed burrito, or one that is about 2/3 the size of what's expected. But I can deal with that I guess... haha. 2. Both times I've used the iPhone App, the orders were never ready by my pick up time! The first time, I chose a 9pm pick up time. Got to the restaurant at 8:59pm. No customers in line... I give my name... They look confused and say it isn't ready. The employees exchanged some lines... one said to the other "hmm, it's suppoed to be at 9pm..." HELLO!?!?! I'm pretty sure the pick up time is 9pm, not the "make it" time! Eek. The 2nd time, I placed the order and had my parents pick it up on their way back. They were given the wrong order and when brought to the attention of the cashier, the cashier said she didn't know how to reprint the order so she had to call someone to help her. The manager (or whoever came to the rescue) just wrte the order down by hand - why the cashier couldn't do that, I don't know. It took them an extra 15 minutes to fix their mistake. On the plus side, they gave us free chips. :) Needless to say, if you want to use the iPhone App for this location, you should reconsider. It'd be faster if you fell in line and had them make the order right then and there. Note: I've used the iPhone App for the Chipotle in Davis and have NEVER had a problem picking up my food or getting the wrong order... Staff is always friendly and the food always tastes good, and this is the closest Chipotle to me, so these experiences won't deter me from enjoying my Chipotle! :)

At work today, we ordered from this Chipotle (using their awesome, snazzy website that makes it super easy to organize a group lunch) and picked up. This place is proof that a food chain's quality really varies by location. I loved the burrito I got from the Mountain View Chipotle, but this one from Millbrae was sloppily put together. The whole thing just fell apart after a few bites, the chicken tasted off, and they skimped on the guac and cheese. The burrito was also a little cold, but that could be because we didn't pick it up quickly enough?

Just opened. It is FILTHY in there! We had a quick dinner here tonight and was pretty repulsed with how unkept the tabletops are. They are disgustingly dirty and sticky. There were pieces of food on the floor. No one bothered to sweep the mess up? I've been to cleaner Chipotle establishments and this had to be one of the dirtiest evarrr! Gross.

I do like Chipotle and would go back, but the past 2 times, I've ordered via fax (large order with my office), and Chipotle has not been successful with this ordering method. The first time they forgot someone's bowl and the salad dressing to another order. I ended up going back to get the bowl because my colleague paid for it and she was hungry (they did offer free chips and guac). The second time, they confirmed that the order was received, and when my boss went to pick it up 30 minutes later, like they instructed, they hadn't event started. So he ended up waiting, and again they forgot the salad dressing. This time they did comp the meal, but I would rather pay full price and have them get it right. They have been in business for a while and at that same location, I just wish they would get their act together.

I'm am definately a fan of Authentic Mexican food! But I do think Chipotle is pretty good.. yea it is a chain it is "Americanized Mexican food" which makes it not authentic but their food is still really good. For some odd reason my sister in law and I both thought that Chipotle was a place that served healthy burritos and tacos etc. But I googled them and it turns out that their burritos are like 1100 calories haha. Never the less the burritos are pretty good the lime cilatro rice is really tasty and the carne asada is seasoned just right. Even though it isn't Authentic it is still good just picture a burrito with a twist... I did take off 1 star because the last time I ordered a burrito it was cold which I hate because it means the cheese isn't melted. and another star because the broad at the counter had a fat ass attitude like she wanted me to throw my margarita in her face...

I wanted to review this Chipotle because there is some of the sweetest coolest servers working there. The food is always great. Its a good standby and way healthier than other fast food joints. I always get the soft tacos, totally loaded up. The homemade chips with the lime salt are yummy. Also try the Guacamole and the Corn Salsa.

  • Nicole Rynee B.

Very simply put. Chipotle is a great, quick spot for a delicious (and mind you hormone free) veggie soft taco, burrito bowl (hold the rice), taco, side of guac with chips, etc. Very simple menu: I believe 3 main options with variations of each. I don't think anyone here believes they are attempting to be an actual restaurant - they are a Mexican grill. Merely a healthier version of quickie Mexi ... Chipotle. The gourmet restaurant where you eat with your hands.

COUNT YOUR CHANGE - The cashier short changes you! "Saulo" was supposed to give me my $11 change. He handed me 3 bills and I saw a $5 so I assumed it was 2 five dollar bills and a one dollar bill. Stuffed my change in my jacket pocket and when I got home I had $7 (2 one dollar bills and a five dollar bill) instead of $11. Will not go back . I guess this is how they make sure they get tips! Be careful!

Pf Chang's, Chevy's, Chipotle's - we all know the routine - a clean, friendly, non threatening, "sanitized" place for middle suburban America to feel safe and yet give us a sense that we're not missing out on all the wonderful cuisine that the world has to offer. And to top it off, the decor is that familiar industrial trendy look so that means it's cool! To be fair, I've heard of the high quality of the ingredients and I must admit, they seem to deliver on the hype for a chain, but you pay for it. A buck 70 for extra guac!!?? Damn!! A buck 40 for chips??!! The stockholders must be very happy with their investment. Anyways, the burritos are of a decent size for the price. Well, the last thing I wanna say is why don't they just get to the point and name this place "Amigos de los Gringo's".

I was so excited to see a Chipotle opening near me that I was one of the first in line today for a burrito at the grand opening. These burritos are really tasty, but I have one complaint with them: they are very salty. Even now, I'm gasping for something to quench my thirst. Next time I'm going to try the black beans since the pinto beans have bacon, and they may be the culprit. Kudos for using meat that's not pumped up with bad stuff. They were skimpy on the cheese and sour cream today, but I'm hoping it's just because they were busy. Overall, a great place to try a squeaky-clean, corporate version of the burrito.

It's scary but Yelp makes it exciting to be the first to review a new Chipotle location. What's happening to me? So I went to Chipotle for the very first time and it was packed. Every table was occupied and the line was almost out the door. I can't really account for its popularity in any town with decent taquerias but perhaps it appeals to those who want a sanitized version of an authentic taqueria or really like salty rice burritos. Choose a burrito, fajita burrito, burrito bowl, tacos or salad, then pick the type of meat (or ask for vegetarian) and you're done. Prices range from $5.25 to $5.95. Credit cards are accepted. You can also order online at chipotle.com/dsl The chicken burrito ($5.50) was decent and filling but it's filling because they put so much rice in it. I didn't like the cilantro lime rice; it was undercooked and a bit hard. The grilled adobo chicken was actually pretty good and the black beans seemed fine but the flour tortilla was too hard and the overall burrito tasted sour and too salty. I'm not used to having lettuce in my burrito but it was okay. They don't have a salsa bar but you can order chips & salsa or guacamole and surprisingly, they have margaritas. I can't imagine having a margarita there but perhaps it would be amusing. McDonald's no longer has any investment in Chipotle.

Have been to Chipotle many times in the past and always found them to be pretty decent. Tonight (Sunday) we visited this location around 6:pm. We were met with blaring Hip Hop music blasting from their overhead sound system. The volume made normal conversation impossible. In fact, when ordering, the staff behind the counter couldn't hear our order, nor the orders of other patrons. Additionally, although less than moderately busy, the dining room was filthy. Every empty table was dirty, with leftover food and trash. It was obvious that the tables had not been bussed nor cleaned by an employee. We cleaned our own table so we had a place to eat. The food was as expected, meaning it was good, consistent and a fairly good value. There seems to be a management problem at this location was the problems stated above have not appeared at other locations.

I love chipotle and the new gold wrapping. I also like how the manager was out on the frontline preparing food with her team when it was busy. Way to roll up the sleeves, and a steak burrito...

First Scottsdale, then Foster City, now Millbrae... I avoided the grand opening, wisely from what the reviews say. Though there is usually a line. I really like the food here, especially the chips with a touch of lime. Okay, I think I need a margarita now...

goodness, I've been coming here a lot lately. so delicious! My setup: Steak Burito, cilantro rice, fajita, guacamole, hot salsa, sour cream, cheese and lettuce. yup, infact I'm here as I'm typing this on my iPhone waiting in line for one. :)

I was going to give them 3 stars just because i like their Barbacoa but because of what happen today i decided to give them 2 stars!. I know they give you a big burrito for a nice price but why can't you wrapped them correctly!! I order a burrito to go and put it in my backup, but guess what?! when i got home there was a BIG MESS! now i have to wash my backpack and I'm glad some important documents where not wet! I hope you guys can work with the wrapping part. I bet i can do a better job! I'll even train you guys for free!

Ok, I'm a Chipotle fan. It's fast, cheap, and relatively healthy. But, this particularly one is way too crowded. Always a ridiculous wait. Slow food as result, not fast. They really need to hire more people, expand, and open another franchise nearby. I've been there at 5pm on a Sunday when they were running out of food and closing as a result. It's not well run. I'd go to Chipotle, but I'd go to a different one.

  • Derrick K.

Fake Mexican food that sucks!!! They charge for everything extra, chips, refills, etc. The food is not good either. I tried the San Carlos location when it first opened and it was bad but I thought i would try the Millbrae location. It's just as bad. With a million taqueria's around the bay area I don't understand who would eat this crap. I will drive to El super burrito, Taco Bell or even a taco truck before I eat here again. Plus it gives you Chipotle blood stains.

  • A. A.

I love this place and have driven 5 miles probably more than 50 times now to eat here. It's the most delicious deal around. It's casual enough for eating alone, together or with professional coworkers. They're generous enough to always ask me if i want a cup for water when i don't order a drink. I get the steak burrito with pico, salsa, black beans, rice, sour cream, cheese, corn and onions in lime juice. It's indescribably tasty and for $6.66, the best bang on my lunch or late dinner buck. I agree that sometimes they're inconsistent with their rolling. But i still give them 5 stars for managing to be the first thought in my mind when i get hungry.

I love chipotle because of the freshness and taste. but this chipotle was below standard by far. when i walk in there is no line and it takes about 4 minutes for any staff to greet and take my order. when the employee takes our order I ask if it is possible to order a kids meal because i wasn't hungry enough to order a whole meal. she rudely asks "well are you under 12 years old?" of course being 23 years old and 5'10 i clearly do not look 12 years old. so I look over the menu one more time and she rudely asks again "well are you going to order?" after stepping to the side to let the one person behind me order first I ask for a quesadilla. when they do make the quesadilla the tortilla is stuck to the aluminum and the texture was comparable to cardboard. I will never come back to this chipotle only due to the horrible customer service. i hope they let that employee go because of her rudeness and she seemed to be a drug addict. she was very franctic and just seemed like a drug addict walking around the projects looking for a fix. never let the copper orange haired woman take your order. check out cafe Roma a couple stores down. excellent customer service and food/drinks.

Chipa- what? Chipootle? Chipatablay? I actually like Chipotle, but that may be because I like salty food. The rice there is what really makes it salty. Otherwise, the salsa, beans, and steak/ chicken are decent. The burritos are pricey at 7 bucks, but they are pretty thick. It is a Mexican Grill. However, it really tries to cater to American taste. Don't come here thinking you'll get authentic Mexican food, but it is a good place to visit once in awhile if your craving a huge burrito.

I m not a big burrito fan but I like Chipotle and the only one I ever knew about was in Saratoga and that's an hour drive for me. I know they have them in downtown SF but those are close during the weekends. So when I passed by this Chipotle last night, I knew we would be coming here soon. As we know it, we came here for lunch today. I was pretty impressed with the food because usually for new restaurants, it takes time to get everything right. My burrito was just right, every bite had meat, rice, onion, and guac in it. VERY GOOD. I couldn't find anything wrong with the food. unlike other reviewers, they gave me lots of guac! I order the Steak Fajita Burrito with guac... every time... I will be back again since this is ALOT closer than Saratoga.

Such bad service!!!! Too rushed, and the people who serve your food look so tense and nervous. I guess that was because there was a line, but there were only 6 people in line. I asked for a chicken burrito, and then he tosses the tortilla to the next person, and says "BEEF." She quickly dives the spoon in the beef and puts it in the tortilla, while I'm trying to tell her chicken!!!! After finally getting chicken, the next guy asks me what kind of salsa I want, in spanish. I don't mind if it's in spanish, so I tell him I want the red salsa, in spanish. He gives me green :) Then he puts sour cream in my burrito, and decides to ask after, if I want sour cream. THis place sucks!!! There burritos are only beans and rice. THey also gave me less chicken because of the beef accident. That was not my fault, I shouldn't be punished for their work.

I had never been to a chipotle before and decided to go in and try the store in Millbrae. I would not recommend it to anyone I know. I had a steak burrito with the rice, beans, steak and guacamole. It was cold and poorly wrapped. I didn't realize that either there is a shortage on aluminum foil paper or it's too expensive that they have to conserve it. Not only was it poorly wrapped, the tortilla was so thin the ingredients soaked right through! I ended up wearing my lunch! I had to transfer it to a plate so instead of eating a burrito, I had a rice, beans and steak plate lunch. One more thing I would like to mention, I think I can buy 3 avacados for what they charge for a spoon of guacamole. $1.90????? Wth!! My burrito ended up costing me almost $10.00 and it was the worst one I ever ate!

Okay, here's the deal. Chipotle is a 21st century, contemporary taqueria (if it can even be classified as one in ultra-Mexi-California). Their menu is simple and contains all the basics, like burritos, nachos, and the such. Freshly cooked food with fresh, and i think even organic, ingredients is visible from behind the counter glass. Ample parking and seating is a plus. I call this place contemporary because it's not one of those authentic, hole-in-the-wall Mexican on the Mission places with lip-smacking food for cheap. I've been to one other Chipotle (in Fremont, CA) and their formula is the same: Fresh, unmedicated food served in a clean place with friendly service. Their barbacoa beef is unique and absolutely delicious, as is the rice they use. However this all comes at a price, and for some that price may be too high. A burrito with drink will run you about $10 after all is said and done. Also, not only are chips NOT included with your order (versus traditional taquerias), but they tend to skimp on serving size and extras on some of their stuff. For the Mexican food novice with some extra money to burn this is a good, SAFE opportunity to wet your toes. The more adventurous (and more budget-minded) will want a piece of the real deal taquerias found in less "organic" parts of the bay area. For anyone who is not caught in the ignorant bliss of Chipotle and has tried the more traditional taqueria food, sometimes there is no substitute. Depends on your mood.

Who doesnt love this "fast food" mexican place... I work right next to this place and probably go here once a week with a co worker of mine (yes she and i both know we have a chipotle issue).. but how can u not.. we both get the same thing and since we are regulars here, the empolyees know us.. as soon as we walk in i see them preparing our veggie burritos.. i do agree with a fellow yelper... it is kinda shady to charge for chips at a mexican place.. but then again.. its a fast food place and its only a dollar more.. 4 quarters! this place is awesome and i love you and thank you for ur veggie burritos!! we will be seeing you on tuesday chipotle!

so coming from a true mexican....who grew up around frijoles y arroz and carne asada....anyways it's basically a taco bell but burritos and tacos only and i believe the food is fresher than taco bell but who knows it's one of the few mexican foods that doesn't make me sick( guess my stomach can only handle home made mexican food) haha! with that said plan on it being your only meal of the day cause the burritos have about a billion calories in them but service isn't bad not overly nice but nice enough. People who think it's too expensive have to take a look at the burrito which is large enough for two

This place makes me angry. I am Mexican. I love Mexican food and I always try to support small business owners like the divine Mexican owned taquerias that line the streets of the Mission. This place however is a corporation opened by some White guy with a loan from his dad, taking advantage of our culture to make millions of dollars. Additionally, this year hundreds of Chipotle employees were fired after ICE cracked down on management for hiring undocumented workers. Other than ethics, the food is just not that great. Yes, service is quick and the food is always consistent, but it's bland. It has no personality, no spice, no culture ( Can you feel my anger!!!). Ingredients are thrown in together with no technique, just a ball of mush that tastes blaahhh. Listen people, there are a lot of really great taquerias in the bay, owned by people who know how to make the food and know what it is about. Skip this place if only to calm my anger and resentment.

Not bad, not bad. I was going to post saying my Carne Asada Burrito is probably 2,000 calories. I proved myself wrong. It's only 830! Check yours! chipotlefan.com/index.ph… This opened up when I was in high school and they would have special promotions such as show your school ID and get free chips. Subscribe to their mail and you'll often times get coupons in the mail. My personal favorite is the buy one burrito get one free. How sweet can that deal be? Maybe because I'm obsessed with lime but I love their chips. It tastes like their chips were soaking in lime minus the soggy, wet texture it would have gotten if it was actually soaking in lime juice. It's never particularly crowded. I've had to wait in line for a few minutes but that doesn't really bother me. It's definately not authentic Mexican food but I do feel a lot healthier eating this. Love love love their Cilantro Rice. Always neat and always clean. On hot days, I like heading to the mini patio on the side. I can watch the cars zoom past me on El Camino while I enjoy my burrito.

Man. I sure do love Chipotle. Hence the 4 stars... I mean, it's kind of hard to rate a place like Chipotle because whenever I come here I always order a chicken bowl or salad bowl so it isn't really hard to mess that up. BUT 4stars anyways because I am always satisfied when coming to this Chipotle. They give you just the right amount of everything (some times Chipotle workers skimp out on the meat but this doesn't happen here! Although it's not like they pile it on like crazy). Anywaysss, this place is defs my go-to place when I want something "quick and satisfying".

This is probably the worst Chipotle in the entire franchise...The wait was 25 minutes because they were short staffed and the staff they did had didn't know what the hell was going on. People ready to pay didn't have their food started yet. I had to have one of them re-make my salad twice because she put pounds of hot sauce on it, only to have then put pounds of sour cream on it. They didn't even take the time to ask me what I wanted on it. I literally would have rather thrown my 9 dollars in the trash than gave it to them....Please DO NOT give this location your business!

Dude, stay away from this particular Chipotle!!!! UNREAL, 7 people in front of me yesterday and it took 15 minutes to get to order?? WTF? This place is a god damn joke!!! Seriously, I eat at numerous Chipotle's around the country and this one totally sucks cow dung!... Waste of time and the quality of the burrito and staff are NOT up to par. Corporate should come in and re-up this place "BIG TIME" WAKE THE "F" UP

2 stars for the food, -3 stars for the horrible service. Came here last night (7/11) around 745 PM and there was a long line almost out the door; though I'd say the customers were being serviced at a decent pace.. It wasn't until I got to the front of the production line where I had my mind completely blown by a worker's rudeness and stupidity. Props to the Asian dude that was actually trying to do his job--he was nice and tried to get orders started hella fast. Then he passed my bowl to this clueless chick (tall, black hair, brown eyes) whom you could tell wanted to be anywhere but there. Was she high or something? Hah, she was apathetic, ignored the customers, and I was just staring at her while she was sarcastically talking to her coworker for 5-10 minutes (a conversation about how they were messing up on an online order btw) and she was stuck staring at the paper that had the online order like it was written in klingon while my bowl was just sitting there. That whole time she was turned to her coworker and didn't acknowledge me. She finally decided to look at me, didn't apologize for the hold up or anything, and after patiently waiting, I clearly and directly told her "everything on it, please" and she still proceeded with "wait what did you say?" with a dumbfounded look. Lol, girl please get out, so over it

I've liked going here all the time, except for today. Today, I ordered two burrito bowls ( one for me and my friend), and the earliest time I could get was 1:45 PM ( 12:45 while i ordered). I got my order picked-up. I ate it, and I had sour cream, and it was like moldy, guss-y. I've been to Chipotle many times and I was satisfied, but not today! They could put the cold things first, so it won't get muss-y. Well, Chipotle, today you need improving, and the reviews are gonna help you.

Love it hear! Great good, fast service, and reasonable! Lines get long sometimes but the reason is obvious. My daughter loves it here and the kids kits are very handy. Only complaints are long lines, no wifi and inconsistent portions. I feel bad for not sticking with my old favs... but so hard to resist!

I've been to Chipotle in Millbrae several times, mainly out of convenience, and come to think of it, I don't know why. Please keep in mind that I've also ordered at the Chipotle in San Carlos with the exact SAME experience, so as far as I'm concerned, everything is probably the same at every restaurant . Service is slow, and for some reason, the guy server treated me like I was troubling him. My usual order is a Fajita Bowl with either chicken or carnitas, and I've noticed that the servers are always concerned with portion size, even skimping on rice. So, half a scoop of rice, some onions and bell peppers. Also, the meat server seems like they have to limit the scoop of meat. (I'm surprised they don't have a scale like some places.) I usually get corn and the tomatoes and a scoop of guacamole...which they always have to remind me that it costs $1.65 more. Okay, so when I check out why am I almost spending $10 on rice, and veggies with a minimal portion of meat? This meal costs, just in materials, probably under a dollar. And NO Chips! Yeah, I buy for convenience, but I can get a really authentic super burrito from a taqueria for $6-$7, with all the fixins included. Including, chips, salsa and guac! $1.65 extra for guac, Chipotle? Really? COME ON! Also, the reason I get the fajita bowl is because their buritto tortilla is LOADED with sodium 670mgs. WOW! Opting for the bowl opposed to the burrito cuts my sodium intake from almost 2,300mgs. to about 1,600mgs. They've got to find someone who makes tortilla with less sodium. All in all, I'm finished with this fast food, over priced, rip-off eatery! I can sit down to a full meal at a Mexican restaurant for about the same price, and get all I can eat free chips and salsa...Oh yeah, it costs EXTRA for the chips at Chipotle...the Unbelievable Corporate Crooks!

Eh, I don't really like Chipotle in general. The steak isn't flavorful. The veggies suck. The rice is just regular. The sauce isn't flavorful/spicy enough. And to top it off, its over priced. $7.25 for a regular steak burrito.

Love Chipotle, but this location is awful. Called last night, because I was unable to select an item from the kids menu when online ordering. A lady answers the phone, finally after calling 3 times, and rudely tells me they don't take phone orders. I tried to explain that there was no option for the kids menu online and asked if I could just order the kids portion through the phone to add to my online order I was trying to place. She rudely tells me again "we don't take phone orders maybe add it in the comments. I don't know what to tell you." Well I can tell you I don't need to order food from a place that treats customers like that. Other than rude employees, they are pretty slow and always mess up on phone/internet orders, serve very small portion with burrito bowls and they are often out of items (especially lettuce). I really do like chipotle in general. I've been to many other locations that are so much better! Worth the drive to go to another location.

WTF, Millbrae Chipotle. My online order was late, you disrespected my coworker and your manager couldn't even come out to apologize. The final straw was my burrito bowl that didn't have the guacamole, sour cream, lettuce that I ordered. That's it. I'm only going to Freebird from now on. Negative 4 stars.

I had a online order for pick up at 1:45pm , I came at 1:50 to pick up my order and the cashier said my order was unable to process payment, so I had to come back because I forgot my wallet. ( that was my fault totally understandable) but as I came back at 2:00pm I told the cashier I had a order for pick up. Yet no acknowledgement of what was going on with my order. This was a different cashier btw. It took 20 mins and another cashier to finally help me out and figure out that my order was right behind them. Seriously customer service at this place needs to be improved. I've been here two times previous to today and it has been the same deal. No on smiles, and it seems like no one cares about their job. I understand it may be a bad day or what not but seriously every time?. Bottom line is I'm not ever coming back to this location again. Unless customer service is improved. I'd rather drive an extra 20 mins to a different location. Then to come back here with unpleasant employees. I take that back the people that work in the first and second station are pretty good with customers and smiling other then that Chipotle needs to step it up.

Another city, another Chipotle I visited. People often ask me, "Tony, why do you like Chipotle so much?" and my answer is a simple four part one. 1. Food tastes great 2. You can make healthy choices. 3. BURRITO 4. Consistency So yeah, um, no problems here with good ole Chipotle.

Did I just wait 30 minutes to spend $9 on a bowl of dogfood with guac shlopped on top... I mean, carnitas with guac shlopped on top? I guess so. I am an idiot.

  • Stephanie A.

Just Ew. I'm just not a fan. Their meat tastes alright, but as I was standing in the looong line, watching people get their meals, the "burrito artists" smother everything in cheese/sour cream/guacamole...who wants to eat pure mushy condiments?? Luckily I stopped them before they drowned my meal... The dudes working behind the counter were straight up hitting on me, which would have been flattering had I not been wearing the giant rock on my finger that my fiance gave me... I gave it one extra star for using saying they use natural ingredients. Other restaurants should take note. All in all, not really worth the wait.

I used to come here several times a week (even the weeks before my wedding), and I'm a relatively healthy eater. I also love their Food with Integrity philosophy, as they serve more naturally raised meat than others. If you are looking for a healthy option, here is my order every time: Salad with brown rice, beans, no meat, no cheese, guacamole, corn, and salsa. I believe this is under $7, and delicious.

Sometimes I think that my food baby's father is Chipotle. Maybe because I used to eat here at least twice a week. But since my stomach started to expand, I had to cut down on my chipotle to just once every two weeks. Its a lot of carbs and my body was starting to show it. I always enjoy coming in to order, seeing my burrito or burrito bowl get assembled. My go to meat choice depends on what looks good to me at that moment. If its a brand new batch of steak ill get a steak. If its a juicy batch of carnitas I'll choose carnitas. They also have chicken and barbacoa which is also delicious. My favorite combination of the moment? A carnitas bowl with the following: cilantro lime rice, black beans, fresh tomato salsa, medium roasted salsa, corn, cheese and lettuce. Don't get the sour cream...extra calories and you don't really taste it. Add a bag off chips and guac (best guac ever) and give birth to a food child. The service is always friendly and great. In fact, they messed up my order tonight and I wasn't even upset about it but they fixed my order and even comped my chips and guac! Yay for great mgmt and service! Woohoo for the comp and my yummy bowl. Interesting fact: did you know that chipotle was once owned by mcdonalds? Come and try a burrito, bowl, tacos, or even a salad...badabababa...im loving it!

This place is a hit or miss. The food quality isn't always consistent. I usually go with co workers and it got to the point where we go on a daily basis. They have high staff turn over which makes it harder to get your food right from the first time not to mention that we are always in a rush to get back from lunch break on time.

    (3)
  • Stephy L.

Really nice staff. When i get the burrito bowl, they give me A LOT of everything. I always get guac on my burrito or bowl! who cares if you needa pay $1.65 more. I love ittttt. Sometimes they would offer to give it to me for free ;) it really depends on who works that day. Sometimes a bit more than the other time. Not a huge fan on fast food, but when it comes to Chipotle, I dont think of it as fast food. haha

Yes, I am a proud regular. Chipotle has become one of the restaurants that just pops in my head when I get hungry. You know? When you get hungry and you start to think of what you might want to eat and you start to think of the cuisine......... anyways. Burrito is good. But I enjoy the bowls!! Mmmm.. It just feels like they're giving me more food when I get it in the bowl. Is that just me? There's an open kitchen behind the counter. You can witness the freshly made salsa and grilled meat on the chopping board. MMMM delicioso. Staffs are very quick. Fast hands!! How fast can a fast-food get?? Amazing. This is where people go for lunch. Everyone in their business-casual attires... you should see the line yourself! Definitely recommended for many MANY to try!

Had to update my review because I decided to give this place another chance after 5 years. All I can say its a good thing there's a bank next store because you're going to need a loan to pay for your meal. They now charge a whopping $1.90 if you want to add about 2 tablespoons of guacamole to your burrito. And they still charge for a small bag of chips which honestly should come with your meal. My chicken burrito with guacamole and bag of chips was $10 and change (no drink ). If my burrito was actually a decent size for this price I could justify the expense - but instead it was a little fat, bland tasting thing in a tortilla that was kind of mushy and broke easily.. I won't be back for good...too many other choices that are far better....goodbye

The staff here is friendly but I just had the worst burrito of my life thanks to Chipotle. I ordered a steak burrito, rice, black beans, mild salsa, sour cream, guacamole & regular rice. It's pretty much my staple at any Mexican joint. The burrito itself is a moderate size. Seems right for the price... except they charge extra for the guacamole and the steak quality was inedible. The meat is cut up into small cubes as opposed to thinly sliced or chopped up as most taquerias do to. This is particularly troublesome when every single piece of meat is so fatty all you can do is chew... and chew... and chew... until your jaw hurts and you almost gag and end up having to pull the damn stuff out of your mouth. Thank god I took my food home and didn't have to deal with this in public. I literally spit out 3/4 of the meat in my burrito until I finally gave up and took out a fork and started to pick it out before every bite. I ended up with a vegetarian burrito. That I paid nearly $8 for :( I wish I could say I'd give them another chance but honestly I can drive two blocks away and get a burrito with better quality for a better price. Sorry Chipotle!

Don't ever get a quesadilla here. They always forget mine and burn it. I've been served the burnt quesadilla and every time they don't even apologize. I have gotten a quesadilla 3 times now and they burned it and forgotten about it every single time! I wanted to see if they could redeem themselves by acting getting my quesadilla out on time and not burned but they can't. It's utterly disappointing because the place is dirty too. Don't ever get a quesadilla here it will just disappoint you because it will be burned and take forever. They will always forget it.

I typically like Chipotle. But the quality of food at this location is pretty bad. I have been here 2 times and both times I got burned chicken and veggies in my burrito. There was a bad aftertaste in your mouth (I felt like there was gasoline in my burrito). I will never be going to this location again. The other location close to me is the one in Colma and that one has better food. So I will be going to that location from now on.

The worst experience ever. The guacamole was tasteless and stale, the chips were not crunchy, and all their food was just blah. Not what you expect from a Chipotle. Most importantly, we came here at 6:20 on a Tuesday evening, and we got to ordering at 7:10, zero exaggeration, I swear. It's not like they did not have staff, just that they were super disorganized. Everyone wanted to do everything - like playing musical chairs, I kid you not. The guy who was warming the tortillas was the same guy I paid my money to at the end of the line. Quite funny, if you ask me, as long as it did not happen to me.

I read some of the negative reviews, and wondered. I was therefore not very surprised when the lady behind the counter seemed to have difficulty understanding my order (salad, extra beef). Not too complicated. Luckily, the next lady knew what was up and handled everything appropriately. No wow factor here. They got the job done, that's all that mattered. The beef was a little chewy though.

One of the worst chipotles I've been to. The server was full of attitude and he ran out of lettuce and corn and scraped the bottom of his trays to dump tiny amounts of each onto my plate. I get it, it's late and you don't want to make more stuff, but at least have the decency to apologize or offer something else. I will never go to this chipotle again.

Millbrae location sucks. Portions skimped compared to downtown San Mateo. When I pointed that out ,the girl rolled her eyes like it was a chore. Customer service like that will soon be obsolete with sites like yelp if businesses want to stay in business. I'll try this location in a few months to seek change, only because I like Chipotle's healthy food picking such ad organic non antibiotics food.

I have to say, I've been here a LOT since I work just down the street and haven't had any real issues. The restaurant area is always super messy but I don't ever eat there anyways, the line always goes by very quickly and everyone is pretty friendly, for the most part. However, just yesterday when I first opened my bowl, I found a hair! I had already driven all the way back to work to eat it so I didn't go back to complain. As a former hairstylist, it wasn't the worst thing ever to me so I removed it and ate (I WAS STARVING PEOPLE! that's why I went to Chipotle...) I know it wasn't mine because my hair is blonde, not black or short, and I know it was from someone at Chipotle because it was on top, wedged right under some chicken. Needless to say, I immediately thought to myself-it'll probably be a while before I go back here!! But then just this morning I discovered a friend of mine got food poisoning here. SO, I won't ever be returning.

I've gone to the Millbrae Chipotle many times, mostly takeout, over the last few years. Very consistent quality and friendly and efficient staff. I'm surprised by all the one-star reviews and, based on my experience, believe people are exaggerating negativity. A one-star review should indicate a serious (serious!) flaw, but based on the comments from the one-star people, their ratings are more emotional than logical. The line is sometimes long and it takes a while to get your food, but to me, this is an indication of how good the food is. The Chipotle formula works, both from a food and service perspective. Just check out their stock peeps! Keep it up!

I'm usually a fan of Chipotle, so I had to take advantage of the BOGO free deal! Got real excited about getting a chicken burrito and the guac. I get there at about 9:20 with my mom (they close at 10) and we were the only customers there. They had already started cleaning up so I figured we should order asap. I swear we had to repeat our orders 3 times before they got it right. They were a bit skimpy on the meat but whatever. When they rolled up the burritos, it literally looked like a ball of tortilla, didn't look like a burrito at all. Got home and took my first bite...COLD! C'monnn!! I mean I downed it anyway because I was starving, but had I stayed and ate at the restaurant, I definitely would've had they remake it. Service was bleh, and the food, BLEH! Don't think I'll be coming back anytime soon.

I am a HUGE fan of chipotle. i havent eaten it in a longg time so I was very excited to go get a burrito today I was hugely disappointed. I asked for double wrapped chicken burrito and the lady who was steaming the tortillas did not know what was up. she steamed them and stacked them right on top of eachother, NOOB mistake. i asked for extra rice instead of beans and she said she cant because it would be too big and the tortilla would rip i responded with, " thats why i asked for a double wrapped burrito" she reluctantly gave me 2 more grains of rice. i had to TEACH them about how to layer the tortillas rather than stack them because it makes wrapping it easier. I asked for some cilantro and the man looked befuddled, i told him its behind him. this was my FIRST time at this chipotle and I knew where the cilantro was, but the guy working there didn't. FAIL or im just too much of a chipotle geek anyways, i got my burrito and it wasnt as big as i had anticipated it to be, i am disappointed and will not be returning to this small portioned, stingy, un-trained employeed chipotle

Loved this place. Service is fast, huge portions. Food was fresh, attentive staff. Asked for some more rice and the guy was more than happy to give extra rice lol. I skip the cheese, guacamole, sour cream and it tastes great and calorie count is far less.

I LOVE Chipotle, but HATE this location. I have given this location so many chances since it is the closest to my house, but they cant seem to keep anything stocked to save their lives. On 6 of the last 8 times I have been here, they have run out of at least one item (and on two occasions they were out of two)! 6 out of 8! Sometimes I wait, sometimes I substitute, but yesterday was the last straw and I had to walk out and drive to the San Mateo location. First, no black beans (no big deal)... then, no chicken. When I asked how long until it would be ready, the cook LAUGHS and says "a while", as in, he was in the process of putting the chicken on the grill. The worst part is that it wasn't that busy AND several tables were dirty and appeared to have not been cleaned in hours. From now on, I will drive a little further to the San Mateo location... it was clean, all items were stocked and fresh, and the girl at the counter was super sweet. Only downside is parking in downtown San Mateo.

  • Tiffany H.

I ordered a burrito and the girl stabbed the sharpie into the burrito so it broke a hole into the foil. Instead of remaking it or at least warning me about the sharpie mark on the burrito, they just rewrapped it. They even looked at me guiltily hoping I did not see what had happened. This was completely unprofessional.

Is this really fast food?!!?? Let me start off by saying...Chipotle has better food than the ACTUAL mexican restaurants in Hawaii. Chipotle kind of has a high school cafeteria thing going on...you line up behind the counter and you watch the nice non-cafeteria ladies/men assemble your food. You get to customize your meal by choosing what goes inside...cilantro-lime rice, pinto or vegetarian black beans, meat (braised carnitas or barbacoa, adobo-marinated and grilled chicken or steak) or guacamole, salsa and cheese or sour cream. Extra tip of a star because they use good stuff...all of their meats are animals raised free of hormones and I believe they use mostly organic veggies. Happy animals = Good Food = Full Me :)

  • Helen T.

Again, Chipotle leaves a smile on my face as I walk out the door. I'm beginning to like this place more and more as a quick-fast dinner fix. The style of the serving seems messy but not in a way where you can't eat and feel it's totally out of place. As much as it feels like fast food, it's really not. I never get that feeling at all. Here in Millbrae Chipotle, its more of a warm and calm eating area. The sun is always out here in the daytime! Chipotle: you always shine, in my eyes atleast!

My burrito was cold within 5 minutes. Love the idea of it being made with mostly healthy stuff and love the bowl concept (I used to always eat the inside of my burrito with a fork anyways). But the taste is not great and it was cold...

Since my last encounter with stingy salsa, I've had a few more meals from here, usually catered by the company. The steak burritoes shockingly impressed me... to the point where I made it back here to order food. I usually get the burrito bowl, no cheese, no sour cream, easy on the rice, no beans, with plenty of salsa. I guess it ends up being a fancy salad or sorts. The service at this location is top notch and superb. Everyone is super friendly and when I forgot to add in the grilled peppers and onions, the guy at the end of the line ran back up to the front to add it in for me.

I like Chipotle Mexican Grill. Here's my review of the one in San Carlos: yelp.com/biz/chipotle-me… The one in Millbrae seems to give smaller portions though.

Love their burrito in a bowl.....lots of fresh veggies and beef. But charging like $1.50 for just guacamole is outrageous! Would defintely come back again just because i find the burrito bowls a great healthy option than what is being offered in rest of Millbrae

I travel a lot for work so I eat out very often. As a result, I know service. Awful or great or somewhere in the middle - I've experienced it. So it is with years of experience that I can honestly say the worst restaurant experience in my entire life happened in this little failure of a pseudo-Mexican joint. Seriously, they FAILED on so many levels!!!! So let's list them shall we: 1. Not enough staff = long line 2. Out of crunchy taco shells when I ordered, had to wait for them to make more 3. The moron putting the toppings on just threw them in the basket. I didn't come here to make my own tacos morons! 4. Out of beer (except for MGD)...the only reason I came here was because I wanted to have a beer in a fast food place 5. Only one f&@#*ing salt shaker in the whole restaurant!!!! 6. The staff outside the front door SMOKING when I left...disgusting! 7. The food is always COLD!!! 8. The whole cafeteria style construction approach...contrived and so so lame! I have given Chipotle more second chances than any other restauraunt ever! Not sure why, probably because I want them to be good but they are not...they are bad every time. I was rooting for you Chipotle but you have broken my heart one too many times. It is time for us to divorce once and for all. You will be hearing from my lawyer. Oh, and I plan on taking everything, even the dog. I will not spend another nickel in any of your restaurants and the one Millbrae was the one that broke the camel's back. So long forever. You had way more chances than you should have. You should be embarrassed.

CMG is just an excellent shop overall. Without a second of a doubt it will go down as one of the most well run restaurants in the history of the restaurant business. It's an excellent place for lunch or even take out if you're caught in a "situation" (the guys who have wives and girlfriends at home know exactly what I'm talking about :-) 1. Great tasting food (chicken tastes like chicken, rice is fresh and tangy, salsa just threads the needle between mild and spicy) 2. Lean menu, none of the bloated menu's you'll see in other mexican restaurants 75% of which taste bland and are only there for filler effect. 3. Fast service - lets face it if you've got work, dry cleaners, returning dvd's, flagging down taxicab's, shopping for suits, taking out your best clients for stoli's, etc... you don't want to be standing in line for more than 10 minutes. This place understands that and they bend over backwards trying to meet your needs! Bravo! Keep it up!

Not sure why the stocks of Chipotle is doing so well. What about Baja Fresh and other Mexican burrito places? Burrito may be for $5.95 but $1.65 extra if you want guacamole. I want a salsa bar and free chips like Baja Fresh.

Chipotle is McDonalds take on Mexican food. Not a bad try at it. Don't like their burritos but love the carnitas tacos. It's a little annoying getting told everytime that guacamole is an extra $1.75. But it is cool that they offer the green lime chile Tabasco as well as the original Tabasco. I like that they make your food in front of you like an authentic burrito spot.

I came here with the BF a couple days ago, and he usually gets a chicken bowl and I usually get steak. So I'm louder than my BF by a LOT. I enunciate, he mumbles sometimes. This time, my boyfriend spoke pretty loudly to the woman making our food. I ordered first, stating clearly that I wanted a steak bowl to go, so she skimped a bit on the rice and gave me HELLA black beans. Blergh. So my boyfriend tells her that he wants a chicken bowl. Alright, then the salsa. My boyfriend says "MILD", and she's distracted so she says "HOT?" to me. I said "NO!!! I said MILD!!!" She puts mild in mine, and without even thinking, she turns to him and drenches the entire bowl with the HOTTEST sauce while she asks "HOT???" 1) HOW is he supposed to answer, while you already have the ladle of hot sauce over the bowl pouring it in? You basically asked him after you did it. 2) He spoke LOUDLY. Yes, he is a bit quiet sometimes. He spoke as loud as I did. 3) WHY were you distracted while you were making our food? There was ONE customer in the restaurant, who was already halfway into his meal and there was NOBODY coming in. You can chat with your little coworkers later, after you spend 3 minutes making our DAMN FOOD. What irks me the most is that she didn't even ask me if I wanted guacamole. Hey, the guacamole earns you another $1.65, so why didn't you ask? I would have said yes. I like guacamole. She didn't bother asking, she just closed the box and told the cashier what we got. BLAH. My bf had the shittiest look on his face after we paid and left. They're lucky that he's nice and doesn't like causing problems. When I looked at him when she put the hot sauce in, he didn't look annoyed or anything so I didn't say anything. Then we go to the parking lot and he got pissy. GREAT.

::starting this review is for some reason really hard oh yeah i'm kinda hungover sorryyyyy:: I should wait until...Tuesday. Or Wednesday. Then maybe my weekend-long drinking binge will subside and I can get some decent words out. These burritos are phucking huge. I wore braces for three years, so I can get my mouth open (insert dirty joke here, I know you want to). But even THIS I can't handle. It's almost like its too much. I can't get just a regular phucking burrito? Guess not. Granted, the one I'm currently noshing in between keyboard xnxcnxcjsxj-ing, and I'm at work...and I ordered it over the phone for pickup for the meeting in the conference room and they had a couple extras left over and so they offered me one which makes it free and free stuff is supposed to taste really good but I can't get over how many effing onions they've put into it and I probably needed to mention I didn't like onions but its ok you didn't know I'm not gonna hurt you ::pets strangely:: By the way, they didn't skimp on my guac...BITCHES! MUAHAHA

I am a big fan of Chipotle. I love their cilantro-lime rice. This place is okay. Clean and they staff is really nice. I have been here several times but today I went their during a lunch rush and I was very surprised on how fast they got through everyone. Their burritos are about 7 bucks but if they are good, then for it. What is also a plus is their burrito bowl. Next time I am there, I will try one of their margaritas.

OK...I understand why people outside of California, Arizona, New Mexico, and Texas might think Chipotle is the bomb, but really? YOU LIVE IN CALIFORNIA! You can't swing a dead baby sea otter in this state without hitting an awesome taqueria or taco truck. You really think Ronald McDonald can make good Mexican food? But...I wanted to give it a fair chance, so I ate there today. I ordered three tacos. My carnitas was an embarrassment to pigs everywhere and the steak tasted like a burning hickory tree farted on it. Please cut back on the liquid smoke. People. Really. No....I mean.....REALLY!

Worse Chipotle ever. This place needs to have an "Undercover Boss" situation where someone from Chipotle HQ can see what a disaster this place is and pull the plug ASAP. My husband and I have gone in the past several times and service was always slow and the food is never quite right as compared to other Chipotle's, but we gave it another try tonight because we wanted a quick bite. We arrived 1/2 hour before closing. We got in line and they first said they were out of bowls for the burrito bowl. They managed to dig those up. I then proceeded to order. Brown rice? check. Black beans? No, they were out. Green peppers? No they were out. Would I like chicken? Yes. Immediately after which the server started to scoop tons of barbacoa onto my dish as if he just blacked out when I mentioned 'chicken'. I had to stop him and he looked up -- "so what should I do with this?" making me feel guilty for asking him to throw out the dish when he was the one that completely ignored my order! It was the strangest behavior. Proceeding to toppings... Pico de gallo? Nope, they were out. Sour cream? Check. Corn? Yes, they had it, but it was looking awfully old. Cheese? Just a tiny thumbful left. Lettuce? Nope. Did they have any prepped in the back? Nope. Chips? Yep, but they had to bag it separately since they didn't have any bags on the counter. Drink? Check. Did I pay for drink? No. Why? Because the register guy decided to get in a conversation with some of the other folks behind the counter and call his coworker's girlfriend ( they were literally throwing around a cellphone while I was trying to pay), and did not hear me, even though I asked him twice. I'm not going to beg him to correctly ring up my order as he decides to make personal calls and have me standing at the register just waiting for him to swipe my card that he decided to hold in his hand for five minutes while he messed around with his cell phone. I couldn't wait to get out of there at this point. If you have all the time in the world and all the patience in the world, then you may be able to tolerate this Chipotle. If you are looking for the fast, decent-quality food with decent service level you typically associate with Chipotle, you will NOT get it here. Run to your next-closest Chipotle instead... or go elsewhere completely. This place will drive you NUTS. Their service is horrible and their servers are completely incompetent - I know it's just Chipotle, but there is absolutely no pride of work or ownership at all here. Depressing.

2 stars for really good food, but incredibly horrible service. Everytime I come here, the employees are rude to their customers. I was with my 2 friends and both the employees working there were rolling their eyes at us when we ordered. One of the employees, Karina, gave us attitude while we were ordering. Don't expect to walk into here assuming they have excellent customer service skills, you'll only be let down.

A relatively new restaurant near my home and workplace (off El Camino Real, just South of Millbrae Ave.). Simple three item menu: Burrito (or Burrito Bowl (no tortilla), Taco or Salad. I've heard decent reviews about other menu items; I really like the simple, clean, fresh taste of their veggie burrito. Also, great salsas (Mild: fresh tomato; Medium: roasted chili-corn or tomatillo-green chili; Hot: tomatillo-red chili). That third star is for the burrito alone - they really have to work on their service delivery, though. The one inefficient cashier this past Saturday afternoon made our quick stop pretty slow and frustrating. All in all, Chipotle's great for my "eating better" mentality and I have to support anyone whose philosophy is "Food with Integrity." Check out their website: chipotle.com/#flash/fwi_…

witnessed the wrap around lines of the soft opening...maybe wait 'til past twelve/seven grand opening...a week gone by 'n' time to sample chipotle....hesitant at first....new, clean, spotless 'n' so un-taqueria-like.....quick glance of menu....tacos, fajita, burritos 'n' bowls....what's a bowl?...basically for the no-carb folks...inners of burrito in paper bowl....no tortilla~! the order?..a standard carnitas (shredded pork) burrito..."everything, but no beans"....$six.forty four the price....a description....whitest cleanest tortilla steamed seen to date....do they bleach 'n' wash the tortillas before packaging?....gleaming white short grain rice seasoned with cilantro 'n' salt....greenest shredded lettuce...(a reminder of mcdonalds big mac lettuce)...standard shredded pork salted heavily...bit too much....choice of standard beans, not a favorite....wrapped into a ball of a burrito....not large..not small... prefer the burrito bowls....a hefty salad creation...rice, meat, lettuce and all fixings...extra salsa and extra lettuce...better option in opinion... the verdict?...overpriced salty burritos, but decent burrito salad...everything optional for additional costs....chip 'n' salsa $one.twenty five.....guacamole an added cost....overpriced drinks....overall a simple "mexican" meal going over $ten range per person....

The worst Chipotle I have ever been to. Overall the attitude of the employees working there is appalling. They are just plain rude and arrogant. For a veggie bowl, they didnt have either guacamole or fajitas. And yet, they charge the whole amount of $6.25 for that bowl of just rice, corn and beans. And they didn't even say if you could wait for a few minutes, you can have the guacamole or fajitas. And they just keep reducing the size of the food items every now and then. Just atrocious pricing and appalling attitude from the employees. Please avoid this joint if you can.

Walking into this place, I couldn't figure out what was the big deal: the food was so-so at best. The food is expensive as hell. Burning in my wallet as I stomp it out!!! Talking about burning, the staff smokes way way too much. They smoke more than that Iceland's volcano. Not cool. Here is what, I like about the place: nice entrance ramp for the handicap, shaded out door tables, and a APP. Program on IPhone where you can order food online and pick it up at this location. It's get busy, but the line moves. The cooks, and staff are friendly as hell, for much a young staff. The only woman cook was funny as hell. People that came seem to know each other, had a Cheers type mood. It was hip, but somewhat annoying. Over All: Worth trying the Burritos or the Bowls, but not one of those places you go if you are trying to save money, not only that, it's service is better than it's food that day.

I've been to this establishment a few times and I find their food to be pretty consistent. I normally get their Carnitas Burrito Bowl with the tortilla on the side (which they wrap nicely into a piece of foil). The flavor in the pork is tasty and other fixings (lettuce, cheese, salsa, rice) are generally fresh, since their turnaround is very good. If ever you want more meat or fixings, just ask and they'll gladly give you more. I'm generally pretty full after my Burrito Bowl.

Honestly the worst chipotle I have ever been in. Standing in line right now, going on 15 min. It's not very busy at all. There's just a restaurant full of employees standing around and playing. There are extremely rude and could care less that some of us don't have all day to stand around and wait. I will never ever come to this location again.

Food is always fresh, good quality. Employees are pleasant...but if you are in a hurry, avoid this place like the plague! These guys and girls are the slowest food preparers ever!!! When the line gets longer, show some hustle people! It can be VERY frustrating if the line is more than five people. I've gone in not hungry and left starving....consistently.

I've come to this location about 4 times. I have been pretty happy so far. I normally order a chicken bowl (burrito bowl). One time i ordered the steak and it was a bit too tough and chewy for me and I didn't like it. I've ordered the steak at another location and it seemed fine. Maybe it's the way they cut it (against the grain?). They now have brown rice, yah! it's nice that they use fresh produce and free range chickens.

::update 2/11/08 down to 3 stars: What happened to my burrito? Someone stole the meat. The first one I had here gave me a wonderful first impression (and 4 stars), but my second fell flat (downgraded to 3 stars) I swear I ordered a steak burrito without beans, but it seemed they gave me a RICE burrito! It was all rice with a HINT of steak! Now that is stingy!! *********************************************************************** I can safely say I've only had Chipotle 3x in my life. First time was at least 3 years ago at the Foster City location, I probably had the steak burrito. Second time was a couple months ago in Southern California - I had the fajita burrito. I should've known better because I'm not a fan of too many green peppers. Anyways, my coworker brought in lunch for Chiptole yesterday. Mind you, I live less than half a mile away from this location, and I had yet to try it. So I was very happy she insisted on Chipotle. I ordered a Steak burrito without beans. I used the hottest sauce with it, but I also put some of the fresh salsa. YUMMM I really enjoyed it! I thought the chips could use a little more salt, but it was YUMMY none the less. I liked all the salsa's I've tried! So for now, this review is based solely on my steak burrito and chips and salsa. I can't comment on the service or the restaurant itself until I get in there. Which should be soon... I just hope I dont make it a habit or I'll be double my size. :)

I like this location for the following reasons: The weekday morning crew is awesome! If they make a mistake on my orders, they will comp me or give me a free drink. They are always pleasant, and fast! They have even called me 2 hours after I picked up my order to make sure everything was ok! Guacamole is always fresh, not too chunky and not too runny, but a little expensive. I love the vegetarian bowls, and get extra black beans. Only downside, order online or get there before noon. The food is the freshest then and you tend to get more bang for your buck.

i guess im lucky with this location since it seems to be hit or miss.. and its always a hit when we order.. online ordering is so easy peasy! i like how you can even put the name on each item you order. makes it easy when you have to pass out the food. i wish you could enter separate payments on the same order like you can at quiznos. no biggie though.. just gotta tell everyone to place their own order. everytime i've picked up they've had the food ready at the designated pick up time. this is crucial when everyone back at the office is super hungry and impatient..lol never had a complaint about the order being messed up. yay for chipotle!

Came in around 11:30 am and the line was already long. My co worker and I thought that the line will go pretty quickly. It didnt. They were busy making burrito's and not serving anyone in line for at least 10 mins. The line finally started moving and it was my turn to order. I ordered the burrito bowl with chicken. I get all the up to the register and a patron who was a couple of people ahead me comes back with her food and says the chicken was still raw. Since, I just ordered the chicken I was concerned if the chicken was raw in my dish. One of the ladies behind the counter asked if I wanted to take a bite before I paid. The nice person at the register suggested I wait and get a bowl with fresh chicken instead of the chicken that was sitting there. I thought it was a good idea until the same lady who asked if I wanted to take bite of my food before I paid, told me that part of their stove is broken so thats why some of the chicken was raw. The new batch will be just the same. I asked why they were serving raw food and she then didnt answer. The polite cashier was whispering to just get the steak, so that is just what I did. They made me a new bowl with steak and as the same lady handed it to me, she commented that the steak will be medium rare just like their chicken and I replied back that steak is okay, chicken will make you sick. Moving forward, I will NEVER go to this chipotle ever again.

I am standing in the line a this Chipotles now. I am about 20 people back. I have been here for more then 20 minutes. The line is forever long and is talking forever. I am writing this review because even though the line is long and slow there are three employees sitting out here and two in the back talking while only three are taking orders. Really people. Get it together. This is by far the worst Chipotle ever.

Months ago, the manager here paid for my meal when my order didn't go through on the iPhone app. I thought that was pretty awesome. Also, who wouldn't love that food? It's Food With Integrity... Supporting local farmers, etc. Deeelicious. BUT they need to update their outdoor signage to have the new logo.

I want to love this Chipolte, but I just can't. The music is way too loud and the tables are always dirty--both I can live with, but the last straw was when I ordered a salad (after waiting and waiting in a not so long, but oh-so slow line), it was assembled, and then when I go to pay, I was told that they were out of dressing. --you would think I would have been told this when I ordered the salad, but no....oh well..the Foster City locations isn't that far away.

I'd like to give this particular Chipotle a bunch of Fs for being friendly, fresh and frugal minded. The staff at least gave smiles, and asked how I was doing? Plus points just for asking even though I know they wouldnt give a shiet, lol. Food is obviously fresh since theyre grilling everything in the back. During these tough times, they offer a huge chicken burrito for about 6 bucks. I'd definitely come back.

hands down the worst burrito ive had in a great while. uhh what was with that white rice and cilantro!? granted the meat was very tender and flavorful, every other aspect of this handheld poo bomb was nasty. this place is way to clean to have a good burrito here. go to los palomas a mile or two north or if you must el super burrito. but for the sake of decent food everywhere, do not enter their taste bud death gates oh ya and $1.40 for guacamole.

I love chipotle, only thing is, and I must stress, DO NOT CHARGE FOR CHIPS AND SALSA AT A MEXICAN FOOD RESTAURANT!! that's bush-league. if i was a big guacamole fan i'd be pissed to pay extra for that as well.

burritos taste really clean, "green friendly". So I thought I was eating healthy until I read an article in men's health. It said their grill chicken burrito contains 1,200 calories. I guess I'll eat here once every couple of months or after fasting.

I like this Chipotle in particular because of it's close proximity to the Millbrae BART station. Sometimes it sucks (especially when I'm hungry) to get off of BART and then have to wait around for an hour to make my Caltrain connection to RWC. But a quick walk down El Camino to Chipotle can do wonders. ( What wait?) The staff at this location are friendly and fast which is a another plus. The food is not anything different than what you'd find at any other Chipotle but somehow, for me at least, it just tastes better here. But maybe that's because it somehow makes my layover a little less sucky (and my day a tad bit brighter).

I was excited to see that Chipotle opened in Millbrae. I love it even more that I can order my lunch online and pick it up when I need it. No wait or hassle. Pay and go! I have been craving the chips and salsa for the longest time . The salty goodness with a hint of lime was a welcome taste in my mouth like a long lost friend! My steak burrito with rice, cheese, mild salsa and guacamole was the bomb! The steak was well seasoned and tender. Guacamole and Salsa were fresh! Great alternative to eating a sandwich! Yummy!!

Yikes!! The saltiest food I've had since P.F. Changs, in Palo Alto. I called the manager to complain, and he told me to come back, and he'd make me another - yeah, right. He also promised to mail me a free coupon. That was over two weeks ago, and guess what, NADA. Sorry I could not give this dump a (0) for stars. Avoid at all costs. Too pricey, and too salty.

knowing it's their grand opening today, december seven two-thousand seven, i called them at 11:15a and put my order for pick-up at 12:00p, though my purpose was to have my food ready when i get there and not to wait in line!!!!...and hoping for a freebie! i'm so glad i did the right thing! the place was already jam packed with eager customers to have a taste of their satisfying, average burritos, salads & tacos. i went straight ahead to the side of the cash register and told the lady that i'm here for pick-up. she went inside and there it was my order of vegetarian salad and my co-workers burrito bowl. my co-worker got us a table and we consumed our lunch. she and i liked what we had. the chicken was tasty, crunchy, fresh lettuce & savory guacamole. a manager was walking around asking if everything is ok or if we need anything else. i wish i could get a bottle of beer or yet a glass of margarita with my food, but i can't...i'm still on san mateo medical center's CLOCK, if you know what i mean! definitely not spectacualr nor impressive fast food joint, but it's a good place to have a healthy, quick lunch or dinner that have alcholic beverages on their menu. too bad there was NO FREE SALSA & CHIPS to be had!..they should've at least have some kind of a "free" food for their first opening.

We stopped in for a quick lunch while enjoying the sunny weather in burlingame. The same as all the other Chipotle's out there. It's tortilla, rice, meat, bean, sour cream and salsa. I like the corn salsa. We gave some chicken to our kids but it was too spicy. In and out and filling. Good for kids like all fast food restaurants. Unlimited refills too. Easy parking and next to a Walgreens and Lucky's.

Good in a pinch. They are very fast and efficient. I think you can call/fax/email in your order which means no waiting in line. Really expensive for what you get...basically a chain version of a pseudo mexican classic, the burrito. Or unless you get the burrito bowl...or the tacos...or etc. It's really the same thing morphed into different forms. Very generic. It's what you expect if Disney were to own a burrito chain. One notch below the better taco trucks, but a zero for authenticity. Their gut bombs will at least fill you up if you are hungry.

  • Jennifer W.

Hands down the best place for a burrito. Their chicken is juicy and their cilanto-lime rice is great. The burritos are huge and I can easily have two meals out of it. If anyone is concerned about the carbs, they also have a great burrito bowl, without the tortilla, but with same yummy contents the burrito contains. My only wish is that they made some fish tacos for those days that I am just meated out. Otherwise, great location, good food, and clean comfortable environment to eat at.

I've been to about a hundred and one taquerias, and almost any of them were better than this place. The rice is sort of good, the carnitas are tasty, and the menu nice and simple, but it's just missing that oomph that makes a taqueria meal so tasty. It's very bland. The staff can't get anything right ( and English is their native language -- the Spanish speakers at the other places always seem to get it right). Stay away from the super salty tortilla chips (which cost extra? What the ... ?). I'd rather go miles out of my way to San Mateo and hit any of those places on B Street (La Cumbre or Pancho Villa).

  • Ana P.

Yuck this place really gets zero stars, but I had to post so I selected one star. I am not trying to be mean but blunt. Really this is not authentic food, this is what I like to call WANABE mexican food. Really, come one now. The smell of the restaurant really tricks you, but boy are you surprised when you land your first bite. NAH!!! If you want authentic food stay away and drive down to SSF or SF to restuarants on Grand Ave or Mission. Just b/c they don't look as fancy as this place does not mean they taste bad. I go for flavor not style.

  • Devious A.

PROS: 1) It's Chipotle! 2)Close to where I am 3) It's Chipotle! CONS:1)VERY small burritos compared to the Foster City branch. 2)It's not really authentic Mexican 3)The staff gives way too little of everything!

  • Anonymou S.

This is by far the worst excuse for Mexican food I've had in the Bay Area. It makes Taco Bell look good. I ordered the "steak" burrito. I put that in quotes because the table spoon of cubed mystery meat they put in there tasted like salted gristle rather than steak. It was also stone cold. They loaded it up with rice, guacamole, and other fillers to make a big, cold, mushy, $8.50 mess. I would have been better off going across the parking lot to Lucky and getting one of those cheap Bueno frozen burritos and microwaving it. Go to a real taqueria, not this place.

Chipotle heats its beans in "plastic bags"! I am not able to find anything posted by Chipotle to indicate that this process leaves our food chemical free. Chipotle says it supports organic "to reduce chemical pesticides" and "to benefit the people". If that's the case, why are they heating the beans in plastic bags? Heated plastic can leach cancer causing dioxins into our food. Chipotle needs to find another way to heat the beans, or insure its customers these plastic bags are chemical free.

About a year ago, Chipotle was amazing and the best choice for a quick take-out meal, but recently it has proven to be not as good. Yes, the food is pretty good, but service is terrible, and portions have decreased from Paula's Home Cooking to America's Next Top Model. I went there three times in the last month, and all three times something went wrong. When I asked for beef for my brother, they gave me chicken. And I didn't know that meat was considered vegetarian... it was a good thing I stopped them both times. I would definitely not pay 8 dollars for a tiny veggie bowl or a miniscule beef burrito. I've seen better days with this place.

  • Andrew B.

Chipotle can be a bit hit and miss depending on where you go, food is typically always good but the service cand either be fantastic or awful. Came here Thursday night and they were pretty backed up at 8 pm, the reason being there was only one girl doing all the work, she was absolutely flying through orders while the rest of them looked like they had just smoked one... I didn't get her name, latino/american girl with tattoo behind her ear I think, great worker. Food was really good as it typically is.

One Star = mandatory One star = fresh ingredients So I heard all the hype about Chipotle, from the songs to other people loving it. I was curious, So I tried it. Meh. I will pass in the future. Note, even though you put cilantro in your whit rice, it is still just white rice! The food was kinda bland and they couldn't wrap a burrito to save their lives. I rather eat at Taco Bell. They may not have the fresh ingredients, but they definitely had the flavor Chipotle was missing. I'll just chalk that up to an $8 lesson. Curiosity satisfied, appetite... not so much!

Came in today, ran out of cheese and hard shell tacos! They never seem to have all the ingredients for the items they offer. Shorted our order with the side of Guac, sour cream and salsa. Avoid this location I have had better service and food quality at other locations.

Disappointing is an understatement. Delicious, healthy food and fresh, local ingredients: + 2 stars. Painfully slow service and less than accommodating staff: - 3 stars. A catering order placed in advance should not take over 20 minutes past the designated pickup time. If a business is understaffed despite knowing that a large order must be fulfilled, it's the Manager's responsibility to either let the client known up front about the delay or find a way to adequately staff the establishment to meet the agreed upon deadline. I spoke with Jared, the manager on duty on 12/15/14. He advised our 30 item order would be available for pickup closer to 11:15am than my requested 11am. I arrive promptly at 11:15am and staff are chit chatting as the growing number of patrons in line grows thicker. I was asked by the cashier to have a seat and "give (them) a few more minutes" for the crew to have our orders ready. After 51 minutes past the pickup time... I was offered a complimentary water cup for my unbearable wait... Isn't tap water complimentary anyway? Eric, the manager on duty during pickup on 12/16/14, apologized for my wait. He empathized and said he wished they were more appropriately prepared for our order. ONE HOUR AND FORTY MINUTES LATER, Eric kindly assisted me to my car with three large catering boxes. Luckily I took EVEN MORE TIME to account for each of the thirty orders myself. As I'm in the parking lot reconciling our order, Eric comes back out to my car, apologizing that his crew missed two entrees not included in the boxes. By the time I arrived to the office with our food, staff's lunch breaks were over and to our dismay, the food was cold and soggy. An unacceptable total of 1 hour 45 minutes wait for a subpar meal. This disastrous experience makes me weary of using Chipotle again to cater for a large group.

I really like the fresh ingredients at Chipotle and my family and I eat here about once a week, but I think they are slipping. Recently, their chips have been stale, and it seems like they are out of either chicken or beef half of the times I have been there. They need to have one person on the line dedicated to filling phone orders because it's pretty harsh to make customers in the store wait in a long line while phone orders get priority.

Just wow!! Horrific customer service....its 11:13am. They have a line of people outside and will not open!!! They open the door and say it will be 8 more minutes????!!! But then they make you wait outside and close the door on you!!!!! I'm flabbergasted!!!

Clean and fast and probably exactly what you might expect. But pretty stingy with the meat...

We went to the Millbrae store and we felt that the food was very salty lately. We used to go more often and each time the crew and the manager have changed. The lines are very long during lunch time and dinner time and the servers don't know how to work efficiently. They seemed to be rushing in an unprofessional manner.

One of the slowest Chipotle locations ive ever been to. Decided to grab a chipotle in between my flights and ended up having 2 ppl infront of me in line. It probably took me about 15 minutes to get through the ordering and pay procedure which was kinda annoying. But that was probably nothing compared to the ppl standing behind me in the now 20 ppl line streching out the door. Tables wasnt cleaned and it was trash everywhere. Staff didnt care or have time for it so ppl had to clean their tables by themselves. There was nothing wrong with the food, but the overall experience wasnt good. I doubt there are any regulars at this venue unless they really dont have any other options. Shape it up, or close it out!

Chipotle is always good. I usually get the Burrito Bowl and a side of tortilla on the side. I get brown rice, black beans, fajitas, steak, medium salsa, corn, light on sour cream, light on cheese, and lots of lettuce. This is healthy for you, you can avoid the sour cream and cheese and it will even be better. Always good, always will come back. Extra lemons on the side!

They forgot to add the chicken in my salad bowl. Really? I'm not paying you guys $8/bowl for just lettuce and salsa. This is disappointing.

Worst. Chipotle. Ever. I'm a big fan of Chipotle, but this location totally misses the mark on so many levels including food quality, service & cleanliness. I've had more than a few bad experiences at this location, and management never seems to fix things when I've had the chance to bring things to their attention. I know a lot of people in the area feel the same way. Millbrae Chipotle, get your act together.

  • John S.

It's Chipotle so the food is pretty consistent, but this is hands down the slowest location I frequent. They're always behind on ingredients and messing up rolling.

    (1)
  • Dante Z.

This is a seriously dysfunctional chipotle. The ratio of different ingredients they use to make their bowls make them almost inedible.

Oh hell no! I've been here a couple more times after the little green bug incident and I was gaining confidence back at this location.... Until today! I'm 3/4 done with my chicken burrito bowl and I see a pubic hair in my next bite!! Only if there were negative stars! Never coming to this Chipotle again. Completely disgusted. Excuse me while I go throw up whatever I already ate, who knows how many mysterious hairs I've already ingested.

Not only it's slow, service is awful, starting from when they don't even give me any meat anymore when I ordered steak!? It's like 5 pieces and they want you out of their face.

If I could rate zero I would...Horrible service! This is my 2nd time been here but horrible horrible service NO change! They gave me wrong order on top of that they charged me for salsa which suppose to be free bcoz not with chip! The training cashier was nice but the one who is training her was horrible with NO personality!!! I hope the manager will see the reviews here at yelp and do something!

I'm an avid Chipotle fan. But I've been to this location twice in the last 6 months, the first time - out of chips and no iced tea. The second time is this evening, guess what? Out of chips and no ice tea, so apparently a regular occurrence that I have never seen at other Chipotle's. Since I had already paid for my drink only later to find out there was no iced tea available.... I asked if I could just substitute some guacamole for my paid for drink. The young lady at the register said she would "check with the manager". Crazy! Twenty minutes later, the manager had 'approved' the request. Enough said.

I am over here trying to place a large order for a work event and when I call, I was told to call the 800 number. Honey, let me give you an education on customer service. The correct response is: "Thank you sir. As much as I would like to place your order, you will need to contact our catering department. The phone number is: (insert number here) may I connect you sir?" I've placed large orders here a few times in the past and each time, the order is not ready at the designated time. No problem. I subtract 15 minutes to give them a break. That hasn't worked out so well either. basically, they get to the large orders when they feel like it. Oh on to the great stuff. It clearly states "For take out orders, head directly to the cashier." This is when the fun begins. It happens like clock work too. I stand there and of course, the cashier rings up folks who have been waiting in line. Then, he/she looks over at me as though I just ran over his puppy. Because his time is so important he often utters "be right with you sir" and then I wait and wait and wait and I stand around like a tool!! They need a better system. I mean, if you checked the stock price of late, they can afford to boost the process a bit. Overall, I hate this place. And that's not just because I'm Mexican and these cats whisked into town and caught the attention of all the white folks. The food is decent going down, but soon after I grub, I feel like rat piss!!! Overall, it's a terrible idea to go here and it's an even worse idea to place a large order. I've expressed these issues with my coworkers and alas, they LOVE the place.

I ordered some tacos but I got a big pile of puddled mess instead. Makes McDonald's look like a gourmet restaurant with top notch presentation. 0/5 would not go back.

Another restaurant we don't have in Hawai'i. After trying it once, had to get it again. Went on Yelp and noticed it was near where I was staying so I decided to walk here. The other reviews said it was a busy location. That they did not lie about! But very efficient employees, they also had a system so the lines moved quick. They weren't out of anything and I got there right on time, so I got chips and guacamole as well! Money well spent for the only dinner I'd be having while I was there. Took it back with me and enjoyed all of it. So yummy!!

  • Jennifer F.

The line was wrapped around the inside of the store tonight and there were only 3 people working the front (1 cashier, 2 prep) there was one other guy working online orders but once he printed the paper with the order he handed it off to one of the people in front instead. Then he turned back around and slowly started moving the metal containers around instead of helping the prep line. The only time he helped out was when there were 4-5 people left. This place needs new direction. The food is as good as any other Chipotle.

I love chipotle in general but I like this chipotle in particular because their chips are always fresh. Yum! Subtracting 2 stars for the employees child who is always left alone to sit and draw at a table to the side. Hire a babysitter!

I love chipotle but this one sucks. They completely skimp on ingredients. I got an anorexic burrito. Total rip off. Also super slow.

Great chipotle. Great location for those especially near the hospital. The line can can a little long at times, I guess this is a popular location since so many businesses are all around. Food is fresh and always hot. Parking can be a bit scarce but I always seem to find a spot pretty quickly. People are very friendly which is always a plus. If you ask for more of the toppings they don't give you a Nastya face, they kindly provide whatever you need to make your meal awesome. Chipotle locations are not all the same so you can definitely write a review for each one. This is a good one!

Quick pick up for my lunch breaks! I always get their full size chicken quesadillas. Their chicken burritos are good also. My friends always get steak but I opt for chicken! I like how I know I can trust their products!

Why would you NOT give 4 stars? HEALTHY. YUMMY. FAST. I pick a bowl, I pick what I want, I pay and off I go. TIP: Call ahead to skip the line and pay.

If you're ready to have your food rushed and be made by a robot type assembly line then eat here. I live down the street and have enjoyed many Chipotle chains without issue but the Millbrae store is horrible. The sense of urgency I feel when I get to to the line to place my order is unreal. It's hard to communicate an order when the person making it is 5 steps ahead of you. The last time I went I asked for their hot sauce on the side, and I'm repeatedly saying "hot sauce on the side please, hot sauce on the side" over and over.... Still the guy making the food is in some sort of burrito bowl making trance and covers my burrito bowl in hot sauce. He glances up to see me react in a way of "ugh thanks for ruining that". Again this goes back to the very simple task of SLOWING DOWN, even when its busy so that you don't mess up a customers order. On top of that, being served a bag of stale, uncooked, greasy tortilla chips has brought me to yelp to vent. Hopefully someone from corporate reads this. This store needs better quality control and standards along with some new management that trains its employees not to rush preparing customer's food.

This is my local Chipotle. I've been here since day one, and it has never let me down, but now I take it back. I came here today to get some tacos, and they were great as usual, although I can say service has gone downhill here. The staff has been almost completely replaced, and the new guys can't do sh*t. Employees are smoking outside in uniform, and they give a sarcastic attitude. They take their sweet time, And talk to each other casually when there is a huge line. They never give anything the slightest bit extra without charging you, most of them probably have no experience, and they just don't know how to be courteous. Anyway, I still love the food here.

    (1)
  • Branden J.

Wow, slowest Chipotle in the world!!! I love Chipotle and go to locations all over the USA. This place is poor at service! Long line and slow staff for no reason, just slow and lazy staff. Wtf 8 people working but 20min in line when other locations take 5min. Corporate needs to fix this location. I attach a pic of the long line.

    (1)
  • Hank Z.

Too busy. Younger crowd. Meats way too salty. Don't come if you are salt restricted. 7.50 for a taco is way too expensive. I don't need to come again.

This is not normally the location I go to. But I was in the area so I stopped here to get take out on the way home. I ordered a kids meal which normally comes with a choice of beans and rice. When I got home the only thing that was in the bag for the kids meal was the cheese quesadillia. Needless to say my 4 years old little girl was super disappointed. I got a bowl and I get the vegi and no beans. Their vegi were super burnt. Burnt to.the point it's Black crisp. The line was also pretty slow which I wouldn't mind if the food was good. They also give very small portions here compare to the other locations. Will not be returning to this location!

  • Annalyn C.

It really is too bad that my kids like this place so much. Twice this week now - including tonight (my son's birthday) I've ordered online and my food wasn't ready. Earlier this week I waited another 30 minutes for my preordered food because they ran out of steak. I ended up ordering as if I'd stood in line and had to comprise with different meats. And tonight, my pick up was for 6...I gave them a little more time and arrived at 6:10...and now it's 6:19 and they are just starting my order...the reason this time was a catering order took priority. Really ?!?! So what's the benefit of ordering online - again it would have been faster in line? Happy Birthday to my son...he's not getting this for a long while. Thanks for the 25% off - it's great - but I'd pay full price any day to get my order on time.

Worst Chipotle I've ever been to. Stale, over salted chips. Ran out of guacamole! The ratio of what they put on your food has no thought. It's just slopped on. I will never come back.

    (1)
  • Ca R.

Not the friendliest staff in the world, but that's okay. What's not okay they always running out of stuff. First the chips, then guacamole. You're waiting for 15min in line to get the information they running out of it. That happened a few times already. It's sad because I really like chipotle.

    (2)
  • Kim F.

Thought we would give this Chipotle another chance, but sadly it's worked by kids. The cashier was very professional but the Indian kid that made our food was making the servings very small. My husband asked for more of everything due to it was barely a scoopful of everything. What bothered me the most is the cook was on break and there wasn't any meat left. So I had to pick chicken instead of the shredded pork I usually would get whenever I ate at a Chipotle. As we were finishing we saw the one cook and one server going back to work. How do you let the cook leave and run out of food when it's a fast food establishment? This will be the last time we go to this Chipotle in Millbrae. Management needs to train them better and to watch the servings.

I have been to plenty of Chipotle locations. This by far is the worst. I will not return here even though it is closer than bridgepointe. Last time I got a burrito it's was literally the tiniest burrito ever. All I get is beans rice and sour cream. Today I got the same treatment but worse because my burrito ripped apart as she wrapped it very sloppy and she literally just wrapped it in a ball because she was in a rush. I will post a pic as well. I'm so done with this chipotle. I am now going to solely go to Freebirds. It's much better and more worth it. At least I know I won't be paying around $8 for nothing at Freebirds. Whomever owns this Chipotle should realize that they need to at least try to retain customers.

So... Chipotle is always pretty decent. I've never been to a Chipotle that had outright terrible food. The problem here is the staff, which suffers a pretty high turnover, if my perceptions are correct. I noticed that they don't give you a lot of certain items (like beans, rice, and chicken), yet somehow manage to overstuff the burrito. I think they shove a ton of greens into it at the end. So when they fold the burrito, it often ends up breaking. I've stood there before, marveling at how bad the workers are at doing this. At the end of the process, the thing looks more like a smothered box rather than a burrito. My favorite moment was when this girl overstuffed my wife's burrito, broke it, and then dumped the contents into a new tortilla. The girl sheepishly laughed and said that it was mixed in better. I laughed too. But probably for different reasons.

  • Darryl T.

Chipotle is usually a really good burrito place to go to in my area. Today just felt different. The long lines not because people were taking forever to order but because the servers were just kind of taking a while to prepare their tidbit in their whole cycle of how the food is made in front of your eyes. I also noticed that they gave less than usual for the price they ask for. A few years ago, they would fill the entire bowl with everything you ask for. Now it just seems a bit lacking. Their tables and counter where all the soda and utensils are situated could use a thorough cleaning as well. Just doesn't feel the same as a few years ago. The food still tastes great. But the services are quite lackluster. Tl; dr: Food is great. Kind of a dirty environment to eat in, should just take your food to-go. Service is a bit slow and not as great as before.

It's so great to finally be able to write a great review for a chipotle! The food was excellent and fast. I went during lunch time an expected a line out the door but it wasn't too long and it went by very quick. Every employee was so polite and cheerful. I wish this location was convenient for me to go to on a regular basis.

    (5)

My first time at this location and I like it. staff was great and the location was close to cal train. The latest line is always long but the staff is fast. I order a burrito bowl with everything and chicken.

After the cold food I had eaten I decided to give them a call to let them know how I felt about their service. Daniel is a manager at this chipotle and he gladly offered to comp me lunch the next time I was In San Mateo. We came back and he gave both me and my boyfriend free burritos and drinks. That's the kind of customer service we look forward too when their staff are careless and serve is cold handled food.

  • Mike H.

A group of 6 of us were in there at 12:30pm Sunday May 31st. There was already a line 10 deep or so. It took us 25 minutes to get to the front. The rice/beans/meat guy had no idea what he was doing. He didn't know they had plain white rice to offer customers and he didn't seem to know the difference between chicken and steak. Out of the 6 of us, only 2 didn't have issues ordering their food.

  • S. L.

I love Chipotle but this location is far the worst I've ever been to. I left this Chiptole feeling like I got gypped. The service was so dissappointing, no greeting, no smile. I ordered a steak bowl and they put literally 10 pieces of steak cubes and threw the rest of the other ingredients in and wanted me gone (I couldn't even chew and swallow the bad quality steak either). Not saying that I always look for the large American portion sizes here but the portion I got was half the size of what I always get at other chipotles. My food was also cold because there was not enough rice or steak on the bottom of all the cold ingredients! Not coming back here.

  • Dawn T.

Finally had it with this place. I got a burrito bowl and I asked for half steak and half chicken. The lady scoops a whole scoop of steak then 1/4 chicken into the bowl. Adds sauce to the bowl, then goes back to the bowl and takes a cup to scoop out 1/2 the steak then dumps the steak into the trash can.... Really? Way to have any happy customers. Stingy workers. Messy place. Never going to this chipotle again. Two thumbs down. Also, smiling at your customers wouldn't hurt. It really seems like these workers dread working at this place.

Dirty bathroom Wimpy bowls No guacamole Chipotle should be ashamed... Worst experience ever at a chipotle

  • Christine P.

It's really unfortunate that this is the closest Chipotle to my home. Usually Chipotle is awesome, fast, clean and friendly. This place has trash that needs to be taken out, the lemons that are given out next to the water became full of trash, the floor is wet, the high chairs are wobbly and not safe. The worst is the line. It is a huge line where the rate of ordering is slow. Staff morale looks low and burnt out. I'm thinking of emailing the founder of Chipotle, because I've never seen a Chipotle like this one.

    (1)
  • Michelle U.

Again another bad experience in Chipotle. They need serious training of how to wrap a burrito!!! I was about to jump in and wrap my burrito, I bet I will do better job than them. Slow, lousy... At the end very cold burrito.

  • Brandon N.

I like chipotle as a franchise, but this location needs to get its act together. It was about 7:30-8pm and the chicken and cheese was not ready. 20 minutes wait for the chicken, 5-10 min wait for the cheese. I am not sure as to how a fast food restaurant serves this slowly. Typically, when you start to get low on a product, more should be prepared. Not after you run out. I am assuming the cheese does not get to the store pre-grated [or maybe it does] but 5-10 seemed excessive. Maybe this was an off day for this location, but I won't be coming back since there are so many others.

  • Luke M.

Typically I'm a fan of Chipotle, but I will not be returning to this location. The service was very slow and the food was awful. It tasted like it had been left out for a few days and I ended up throwing away my burrito after a couple bites. I was there with my wife and she was equally grossed out.

  • Andy H.

I love chipotle but this is the worst chipotle ever. DO NOT GO HERE. Drive 2 miles for a different one. Heck, drive 30 miles for a different one!! It is NOT worth your patience to come to this location. I came here with my boyfriend at 9pm. They close at 10pm. I got there and there was a small line but it was moving incredibly slow. We waited a good 30 mins before we got to the front and when we did, the food station was a MESS. It was disgusting. Not only that, almost all the containers were empty. No fajitas, no rice, no corn, NO lettuce. How the fuck do you run out of lettuce, you don't even need to cook that! When I asked if there was going to be more brown rice, they checked with the cook and said they ran out. When I asked about the lettuce, they said they ran out. Wtf!! And then the server has the balls to make this joke "it's almost closing time, we have no more food. HAHA just kidding!!" Just kidding?! Just kidding?! No, you ARE NOT just kidding.

We ordered online and was told it would be ready at 315. We showed up at 330. The order was not ready. They said they had a shift change and forgot to do it. Ok I understand mistakes and what not. The manager should have come over and apologized and perhaps even offered to comp the order. Customer service is so important why would you blame your staff for the poor process and management.

    (1)
  • J C.

Very stingy on the meat. The place gets crowded during lunch time and when it does, it gets really dirty. No one is there to clean up. Kinda gross! Wonder what their health score is. This place is like the Mcdonalds of Mexican food besides Taco bell.

    (2)
  • Sierra S.

The slowest chipotle ever!!! At least a 15 minute wait every time I've gone. It's deterred me from coming back unfortunately.

    (1)
  • Gail S.

I love chipotles......however "this" location is the absolute worse !! Usually the other locations are so clean and inviting.. Not so with this location. When I first entered. I noticed the trash can cover wide open and the days trash over flowing. I wondered if time management was a problem . As the tables were not wiped off and old food was on the floor. When I went to order my food I could see rice everywhere.. They had not wiped down a thing.. I was getting nervous now because things looked shakey behind the glass top. The salsa-cheese-burrito wrap girl was wiping the sweat off her brow and the shirt had sweat stains on it. Then she scraped the bottom of the gauc pan and gave me half the amount that is usually provided. Went get a fork and ugh that area was missing some serious cleaning... How can you leave soda spills so long that they dried on the counter. The owners need to retrain this bunch or hire more. Board of health is looking!!!!

    (1)
  • Joshua M.

If you come to this location plan on a 15 minute wait and they will run out of at least one key ingredient.

I love chipotle, but this location sucks. The service is SUPER SLOW, tables are dirty and its just mediocre in general. Skip this spot...3 stars for the food -2 for the service.

I used to work here for a couple months until I quit and let me tell you, this was the worst chipotle I've worked/eaten at. 1) The management here is terrible, they don't receive any training, I can't tell you how many times they forgot to give me breaks. I should've sued but I got so sick of them I quit. 2) Extremely underpaid(9.00/hr) workers who get no benefits and shitty hours. Trust me, I'm naturally nice but when you have a never ending line of customers(most who are idiots), it is VERY hard to be nice. The only way we could keep ourselves happy while serving (mostly) morons was to be loud and make dumb jokes with each other. 3) They are not sanitary here. And the managers (one of which named Adrien) we're terrible, forced us to work as fast as possible, which left so many opportunities for food poisoning that I'm amazed I never got sick from eating my own food. 4) Don't get a salad or lettuce from here, I found bugs in there all the time. 5) They hire ANYONE to work here. No experience, and then they let these people prepare/cook your food. But hey, that's what minimum wage gets you. I hope a Chipotle exec reads this :) P.s If you come here, blame the managers, not the employees working the front. Their job is already terrible, and they have to put up with idiots all day. Ex: The never ending amount of morons who think a burrito can be loaded with 5 pounds of meat and a skinny tortilla will hold it and magically wrap around everything. Sincerely, Former Chipotle employee

Worst Chipotle location I've been to. The staff are openly rude, I saw them rolling their eyes at a customer who had to remind them they wanted a bowl and not a burrito ( I heard the customer say it right the first time). When they ran out of carnitas the cook behind the counter mentioned it was time for his smoke break and they'd have to wait. Then when I'm paying with my credit card they wave the card in my face to show that they're done ringing me up. Meanwhile the kitchen staff has their death metal blasting while the restaurant has different music on. I was tempted to ask for a manager but this place is so obviously terribly run it would have been pointless. Avoid at all costs. The workers here have no pride, they're just here for money to get low class bad tattoos.

I love Chipotle, but this has to be the worst location. This one is the closest to me so i've been here a few times. At first i had no problem with this location, but then i started to notice how dirty the place was. My last straw with this location was when i did a online order. I had placed the order about a hour and a half before i needed to pick it up. I arrived about 15 minutes late to pick up the food and guess what they still didn't even make it. I had to wait another 15 minutes for something they knew about for two hours. Not only were they employees rude the location is dirty and the online pick up was pointless.

Today I came in for lunch, glad it wasn't packed...but I can say I came in to some good customer service...The staff was very helpful, enthusiastic, smiles on their faces, very friendly! Their chicken bowl is really good and loved their Island music they was playing!

  • Mr G.

This location is a joke. They are dirty and messy when making the food. They don't smile (biggest pet peeve ever). The girl at the register doesn't give you eye contact. I had to say thank you to her in which she should be the one to say it me considering I am a customer buying their food. First and last time here at this location! The formula is simple when it comes to great customer service smile, have a clean presentation and say thank you and maybe even invite then back! These are young though it sure is not an excuse for lack of giving great customer service.

    (1)
  • John P.

It's awesome they're open late. However for some reason the meat at this Chipotle didn't taste right. It tasted off and stale. Maybe it was because I arrived an hour before closing, but I've been to other locations and the meat tasted fine near closing. I'm not sure. I gave it two stars because it tasted below Chipotle's average.

    (2)
  • Marty J.

A serviceable meal and worth going if its during a non rush hour with no line. The brown rice, bell peppers, and assortment of meat choices are nice. I like the barbacoa meat. Nantucket nectar juice is a plus option as well as bottled beer choices. I think I'm going to just opt for a burrito bowl next time because the burrito is so big that it sort of rips and falls apart while you eat it.

    (3)
  • Jason D.

The line during the lunch hour rush is a joke. Slowest burrito makers in the west! Also found some hair in my burrito.

  • Dimples P.

WORST CHIPOTLE I HAVE EVER BEEN TO. From customer service to the taste and serving size of the food. Don't ya'll follow a recipe? Why doesn't it taste like the other's? How come this is the only plave that serves so little? Oh MANAGER IF YOU'RE READING THIS I suggest you place a friendlier person at the register, not two girls who looks like they hate the world. Only one dude on the burrito line smiled at the customers. Smh. If you can't train them Replace them.

  • Carla S.

This isn't the fastest moving location, but they are extremely knowledgable of gluten free and how to keep things from cross contaminating. (automatic 3 stars). Parking isn't an issue (.5 stars) and the staff is always nice (1 star.) Rounding down, because this place isn't perfect, it's a solid 4 for me. To everyone who is complaining about the lines, here is a solution: cook for yourself or order ahead. Their app is awesome, and all you need to do is go to the cashier to pick it up.

Worst Chipotle ever. If I didn't know this was a "special" Chipotle, I would never visit another one again. The line moves 3x slower than at other locations. The workers are unbelievably slow, VERY stingy with everything (infuriating), and always seem very confused. Every time I've been here during prime dinner hours, I see them taking their time "training" each other, which holds up the long line even more (one of the workers was slowly teaching another one on HOW TO PUT CHEESE ON A QUESADILLA in front of me once.......). Oh and the steak is always really chewy, like it's 90% tendon. W T F

I haven't bothered to write a review of this location before because I'm not sure it will matter what with all of the bad reviews already. The food here is as good as any chipotle restaurant. The problem is the management. There are NEVER enough employees. Thus, there is always a long line. You walk into a chipotle in downtown San Francisco and you won't be there long. Even with a line they keep things going. Not here. Slow lines almost out the door. On top of that, even though I come in weekly, I never see the same employees twice. Please fix this problem chipotle. I love eating here but that I do so less and less because there is always a line. Even when there are only three or four customers it takes forever.

While I still think the rice is inappropriate I have grown rather found of their burrito bowl. However because guacamole is an extra 1 million dollars when added to anything I always pass on it. Seriously avocados aren't dipped in gold so what gives with the price?

This is my second visit here. Both visits the place was filthy. This time they didn't have brown rice available... I won't be back here

I would give this place NEGATIVE STARS if it was possible. Worst experience ever! I went there twice, last night and tonight, because I'm staying close by in the area. I swear, they made me so angry both times, I needed more than an hour-long cool down period just to regain my composure. Both times they were completely out of guac and totally unapologetic about it. I got a veggie bowl for my boyfriend who usually gets guac instead of meat (which is why it costs the same as a chicken bowl). This location charged me for the bowl as if it had meat or guac in it, even though it had neither! And when I asked about it, they told me I couldn't get a discount! Both times, they really skimped on the portions - smallest portions ever. I had to ask the guy to give me more steak on my order because he literally put like 3 pieces into my quesadilla and thought that was enough. And then, they refused to cut my quesadilla into pieces! what is that?!?! Never going here again, and I generally like Chipotle. Also, yesterday, there were literally 10 workers behind the counter most of whom weren't doing anything except getting in each other's way. Staff is unfriendly and looks miserable. Know absolutely nothing about customer service. I had to ask about my quesadilla 5 times before they brought it out.

Man this is the worst chipotle I have ever been too. I wish I could of given them no stars. The workers were all unhappy and slow, when it was my turn to get my order, they were all distracted and doing something. No one paid attention to me and when I was telling them what to put in my bowl , they just ignored me and almost put something in it until I had to raise my voice. They think I was just kidding or something. WORST CHIPOTLE EVER

Highly disappointed in this place. My first time going here and they did not honor a text message BOGO promo which my daughter had. Cashier and another employee were rude in their explanation and wouldn't even listen to us. What choice did we have but to pay full price. While eating our lunch I noticed someone else had the same promotion and it wasn't scanning either yet a manager, I am going to assume even though the person was dressed in street clothes, overrode it and gave the customer the BOGO offer. Um excuse me?? Too disgusted and flabbergasted to bother to say anything. It's dishonest that a company will pick and choose what gets accepted and what doesn't. We specifically chose to go to Chipotle because of this promotion. This was almost my first time coming here. Even if we had gotten our BOGO promotion I'm not a fan. Overpriced and flavorless. Because of my experience with this location and because of the "oh it's not our fault" attitude on the fb page my business will be taken elsewhere. Totally disgusted and disappointed.

I always end up feeling irritable at this Chipotle, and afterwards too. For some reason, I keep coming back after numerous promises to myself not to. Staff is friendly and the food seems healthy. List of complaints: - lines long, full of mothers ordering 10+ burritos for their toddler party or God knows what - don't forget the little-league dads ordering for the "whole team" - understaffed - usually out of something, like chicken or guac...or very low and almost out - ridiculous portion control...meat consists of a small serving spoonful...and they shake off the "extra" before dumping the remaining two or three pieces in your burrito (store manager must be niggardly) - inadequate wrapping by fake Mexicans causes burrito to collapse halfway through - cleanliness is hit or miss...usually miss...beans and rice all over the floor - restrooms not too clean, smells like poop - they forget online orders. I deleted the Chipotle app

The service I got today was not so great. First the lady says "Hi how can I help you?" Then the customer in front of me talks to her right away, and I get shut out completely right after i say hi, no "sorry about that" or "wait one moment, I will get to you soon" from the employee. Then, I did not do this on purpose, but I put my hand over the window counter to point to the salsa, then the guy rudely goes "sir keep your hand behind the counter", with no please or a thank you after that, it just made me feel pretty awkward after my mistake... Then the cashier when she returned my change, did not really look at me or say what my change was..

With so many authentic mexican places around, I really am not a huge fan of chipotle. But having said that, I do like it in terms of a fast food option. My favorite item is the sofritos bowl, which is a tofu/vegetarian option. I'm so glad they introduced this to the menu as it provides vegetarians a real veg option that is hearty. This is very popular with the nephew so I have found myself at chipotle 3 or 4X in the last 4 months, which is more times than i have been there in the last 5 years combined! Customer service is okay - not great. Most times it's a first job for people so you feel bad and cut them a break. Some of them are skimpy on the toppings so you just need to watch them carefully and don't be afraid to ask them to put in a little more if you have to.

It takes a lot for me to write such a bad review but I must warn others to AVOID THIS HORRIBLE CHIPOTLE. This happened this morning: Faxed in the order at 10:45am to ensure that we give them enough time to prepare the food because there were many other times when they promised the food to be on time but it wasn't. Called in at 11:10am to check on the order. "I'm sorry we didn't get the order." Uhhh ok, I had the office re-fax. Called in again 15 minutes later. "I'm sorry we didn't get the order." Ummm.. *repeat above scenario three times* I arrived at the store at 11:35am while my office is calling back (not faxing) the order. Ridiculous. The manager offered no apology, no discount, and simply gave me a it-isn't-my-fault look. Then I see him messing around in the back trying to figure out what was wrong with the fax machine. Meanwhile, they start working on the order. I see them giving away free meals for those who were waiting for their fajita veggies to be done, but me, a customer who has been waiting for an order for 20 minutes and counting, and who's always ordered large group orders from them, the manager didn't even offer an apology. I am so appalled by the manager and his lack of customer service. They have lost my business forever and I will never revisit this chipotle again. EVER.

Place sucks! Everytime we've came here it's been something, but out of brown rice? Are you kidding me? I've taken my food home before with this location and the Westlake location and it's been wrong. I was told tonight that I'd be notified when the brown rice was done in 10min and guess what, no word and my wife and I sat there for almost 20min. What a joke. Portions of meat are a joke and the shift supervisor or manager seems more preoccupied in giving google eyes to the other employees than making sure everything is running right. Tables are messy and I don't think they've been wiped down. Don't waste your time going to this location.

Listen, as you can see most reviews here have the same theme. Lines are slow and portions are skimpy. I too had the same experience and as I craft this review I hope to save my future neighbors. If you are in the parking lot now reading this, quickly drive away. Yes, all chipotles are supposed to deliver consistency, but this branch certainly falls short. I don't post much, but my frustration builds as the line is being halted because there are 5 patrons waiting for chicken. 30min later as the "chefs" rush to cook and cut the chicken I then notice them serving small portions. I assume they are skimping the customers waiting because they all want chicken and they so not have enough made. Being the savy shopper that I am, I elect to eat carnitas (which there was plenty enough). Sure enough I too fall to the half hearted spoonful of meat. I can feel my carnivorous heart begin to tear in two. Afterwards I move down to the other sides and make my payment with disbelief. I know you will not find a chipotle within a good 10miles and perhaps my experience is the outlier. But others give the same report. Save yourself, try some of the other taquerias. They may not be as trendy, but I guarantee you will be happier with the product in the end. I really do not expect people to seek advice from yelp for an establishment such as Chipotle. But just maybe, management will receive this feedback and realize that Millbrae Chipotle is really tarnishing the brand.

I've been to this place few times, every time I had bad experience . And I agree with all of the bad reviews. The experience I had today is nasty. This place need to be shut down right away by city. I found a plastic string in my bowl. I took 2 bowls to go today. I finished eating half of the bowl and I found this string. I want to take the bowl back and throw at them. This is very nasty, I would never ever go to this place. People please look for plastic strings, packing stuff and tissue paper in your bowl. I had to give star , coz without star you can not post the review. Nasty nasty nasty nasty

Said I wouldn't go back, but someone gave me a gift card so decided to give another chance and surprised how much better it was, plenty of food, didnt feel like they were trying to skimp on the portions, definitely going back

We always order our meal here at least once a week from work, we usually do either fax or online order. The last order was the worst experience from them and the fact that it was their male hispanic manager that help us made it even worst!!! He made me so mad that i just want to slap him because his manners to handle customer was rude!!! I wish i had his name so i can call the corporate to tell on his bad behavior!!

Came in at 9:40 pm on Tuesday. They did not want to cook any more meat, not chicken, not beef and not pork. Why ? I have no idea. I left because the workers didn't want to cook anymore. Sign says open until 10pm, but staff on Tuesday stops working at 9:30pm. Worst Chipotle branch in the Bay Area.

  • Devina H.

I've always been to this location and I've always loved it. The reason im giving them a 2 star now is because i came in for lunch when it was raining outside, im ordering my food and the other person helping me was so rude. My order was wrong, which i can understand but when i go and tell them, the guy standing there looked so dumb and didnt do anything. I just got my food Togo because i was so upset with the worker. He was an asian looking guy.

    (2)
  • Mimi S.

The workers here are so rude, and when I ordered the veggie bowl, it was the saddest, hungriest, veggie bowl in Chipotle history. Avoid.

    (1)
  • Mina K.

Horrible all the way around. What happened to this place? Went in at 8 pm. They didn't have rice fajitas or guacamole. They were still making it. Waited in line for about ten minutes. None of the staff apologized. Very rude. Needless to say I will not be returning to this location. Get it together

    (1)
  • Michael P.

Super skimpy on the meat servings here...like, it's pretty obvious management is telling them to short you on meat. I asked for a little more barbacoa and got the tiniest additional pinch. Then, they tried to charge me for double meat. It would have been a half serving anywhere else, watch out for this here!

    (2)
  • Kathleen C.

Love chipotle but I can't help but give this location a bad review. When you show up at 730 (dinner hour) and every bin of food is practically empty, while 7 staff members stand around and chat, it's extremely frustrating. There aren't very many menu items on the menu (which is totally fine), but you should have everything readily available. No salad dressing? Just gone? Out of it? None in the back? Can't make it up? Okay... So how about barbacoa? Oh it'll be a wait, okay sure I'll wait... So at that point the person making burritos asks the guy in the back to make some barbacoa...shouldn't u have noticed that it was gone before I started ordering? Can't even describe the shit show that was happening here tonight.

    (1)
  • Andy B.

Horrible customer service. Downright rude. Expect to wait in line forever and then have them be out of all of the ingredients that you want. Even onions and peppers! Because they are too lazy to fire up the grill even though it's almost an hour until closing. And constantly being out of avocados in CA in the middle of summer (peak season) is just plain pathetic. It's too bad because they have some great options for those on a low carb diet, but this location is just terrible.

    (1)
  • Kay A.

So, I called today for a "to-go" order, which has never been a problem. But a ONE HOUR wait for an order to go--WTF is going on there!? They should be able to handle lots of business, but they just lost mine. The inside of this place is cold and industrial with uncomfortable seating and no sun. I was able to put up with that, but now the service is horrendous. Come on Management--step it up!!!!!

  • Mar A.

I've been here a few times, and each time ends up being more disappointing than the last. This last visit was the last straw. 20 minute wait to order. The guy that finished our burrito/bowl charged me for guac when he did not add guac to either order. Overall poopy disposition of the line workers. (I get it - it's busy and you have a line. But you could make it better by being polite and not acting like I'm a burden on you. I already knew EXACTLY what I wanted, and all you had to do was listen and not give attitude. I wasn't being rude or being a bitch, but SOMEONE else sure was). Soggy chips. Uncooked vegetables. Un-limed/cilatro-ed Cilantro Lime Rice. Tough, chewy, steak. I'm done making the mistake of coming here. I'll make the drive to Colma where the employees are nice, efficient, and the food is always cooked well.

I am a chipotle regular and I love their food. But this review is for their Sofritas and they are just okay. There used to be a place called Moe's Southwestern grill in Tempe where the used to add Tofu to Burritos... it was nice and soft marinated and grilled.. here, it is just some sort of amorphous leathery lump and didn't love it... As I found out, now that there is a vegan/vegetarian option for protein, the Guac is an extra... I am not sure that it's good enough to compete with guac on my burrito. This location is okay... the people are friendly... the first guys messed up folding of the burrito( it was too big) but a lady stepped in and showed how pros do it!

  • Alfonso P.

Love it Chipotle never ever disappoints me but judging by the reviews and the service I got today even though I was tired the server was very nice along with the cashier but looking at my food I can see some of the portion is a little bit small I got a sofritas it was small there quality it a Little bit not that great in this area or to be more frank their quality has gone down in this area I was very evident if I'm using this in the right context of looking very cautiously for hairs and pieces of plastic because this area has gotten really bad reviews I don't know if I'll come back to this area again the next one that I got was regular steak bowl with the same stuff that I ordered with the sofritas Except I didn't get guacamole In the sofritas. Basically it was brown rice and white rice with pinto beans and black beans Corn sour cream and guacamole steak everything except the guacamole in the sofritas Really good the quality is down and not enough in portion. But I love the sofritas I'm not vegan or Vegetarian and I love it yet not this area one though. With all of this established I will give this a rating of two to Two an a half yet it won't let me do that so I'm giving it a three hope to find a new one in the Bay Area Where they are doing it correctly

Who knew Chipotle would be the place to be on a Sunday night. I must have waited a good 30 minutes in line before I got to place my order. Pretty ridic for a "fast food" place, but when I'm craving it, I'll wait it out, but otherwise I'll leave to go to Lucky's across the parking lot. What I like most here is pretty the Burrito Bowls. It's like a salad bowl but without the sauce (I don't like sauce on my salads). Self explanatory. It's a burrito in a bowl just minus the tortilla. Haha. I also get the burritos here. It's okay. Most of the time the meat is a little dry and it falls apart before I can get to the bottom. Lame. Seriously. How long has this store been open and why can't they wrap their burritos nicely. Lastly I get the quesadillas. It's 2.50 for just cheese, and about $5 with meat. Not bad because it'll definitely fill you up if you're looking for something cheap. Service is okay here. Somedays they're more rude than others - especially to speed up service I notice they are more rude. But other than that it's pretty friendly. There is an okay amount of seating and they are always cleaning the tables when I'm there. Just go on a time when it isn't too busy and you'll get good service and good fast food. It usually is busy though... since it is one of the only Chipotles in the area (though San Mateo does have one)

Chipotle is generally good, especially when you don't know what else to eat and are starving. This particular location however is not well managed. Employees are not so friendly. The guy making my bowl sneezed right when he was serving the salsa and didn't even bother asking me if I wanted a new bowl instead. They are very skimpy with the meat. They are unorganized. I once saw one employee essentially mean mug a coworker and then turn to look at another coworker and both agreed at something about the other employee with their eyes. Not sure I am explaining it well but essentially unprofessional. If you have a problem with a coworker you deal with it in the back and not in front of me as I am waiting to pay. Don't recommend this particular location. 2 stars only because the taste is still there.

Horrible Horrible Horrible!!! Customer service is terrible, the manager actually refused to come over and talked to us. It took an hr to get our order, they didn't even apologize and the order was totally wrong! When we complained to the guy at the register, he said "it's not like your order was $1000" as if to say they would have providers better service if we were ordering more food worth more $!!!! And The chips were stale. DO NOT ORDER FROM HERE!!!!!

  • Cheryl K.

I visit this location several times a month and there's always a long line, rude service, and really small skimpy portions. The guy behind the counter scooped probably a tablespoon of chicken onto my burrito bowl. He did the same to the guy behind me with his steak. So sad. They always seem to be behind on portions. They're often out of fajitas or salsa which is usually why the line backs up since they have to wait for someone to start it in the back.

    (1)
  • Scott P.

Didn't start my order until I arrived and asked for it? That basically defeated the purpose of using my app to speed things up. Not to thrilled about that, but will try them again another day.

    (2)
  • Bobby S.

They have four workers and can't get their act together. Very slow service and unable to move the line on a Sunday. 25 minutes in a short line. It wasn't even lunch time. Also, how can you not have any fajitas. Really? They should all go train at the Daly City branch.

  • Armando N.

THE WORSE CHIPOTLE in the world. Someone should fire everyone here and start over. We ordered quesadillas, the girl walked away and never came back. We told the next girl who said "okay, I will check." Moved on in the "production line" and got to the register where again we mentioned it to the guy. He said, "okay, I will check on it." He charged us for the quesadillas and we patiently say down to wait. As we waited, we did constantly look up to see if our order was ready. The guy got annoyed with us asking about our order we had already paid for. It was even more annoying to watch others walk away with quesadillas while we waited. I have not had the desire to hit someone like that in a long time. We walked away. AVOID this place! I also have a complaint in to the corporate office. Read the reviews. These people are rude and stupid. Chipotle takes to much thinking for them

This Chipotle sucks. Out of things with no apology, trying to charge me for a burrito because I added peppers and onions to my quesadilla, shitty workers, small portions.

    (1)
  • Christina G.

Apparently they ran out of white rice..but brown rice in a burrito is weird!! It didnt take them much time to mix up a new batch so it was super fresh when I got it. Uh. Random.. there were 2 people plus me waiting outside the womens restroom.. the person was taking awhile, according to the lady in the front.. when the person came out...well, it was a GUY. And I thought girls took awhile.

Awful Chipotle location... like really bad. EXTREMELY small portions at this location, very stiff on meat. Got guac, 70%. of it was hard unripe inedible avocado. Got a side of chips, incredibly stale, they were chewy. Not to mention they kept running out of things while we were in line. Tried to bring my parents there for the first time but they hated it bc this one was such a rip off for their tiny burritos, dont think theyll ever go back either.

I have been coming to the Millbrae Chipotle for a long while, maybe around once a week or every other week. Every time I've been there, there's always been unpleasant experiences of different aspects: rude and arrogant employees providing slow service while skimping on the food portions. I've once been there at 30 minutes before closing, so most of their employees are in the back, I guess supposedly cleaning. I was the second person in line when I got there, then service was so slow the line built up to 10, while I remain #2 in line. All the while, you could hear rambunctious laughter and chatter coming out from the back. So finally someone got out of the line and asked them to stop playing around and help out the line. They took their sweet time sending out one extra person. As far as I can see, this location is full of immature and irresponsible young people with no work ethics who don't give a damn about the customers or the job. I now avoid coming to this location if I can help it. Sometimes I'd even rather drive to another location so as to avoid including this sort of unpleasant experience in my day. But sometimes, I still give in to how close it is to me.

Finally got a chance to try another Chipotle since I work in San Bruno now.... and the Colma and Westlake locations are just ok. I was able to find a good parking spot with lots of space in front of Walgreens. 100x bigger and better parking lot compared to the Colma location. It didn't seem too busy around 2pm but it seems as if the staff was not keeping things like spoons available. Also there were a few dirty tables, I ended up just wiping one down myself. (minus 1 star). Also their music was really loud. The table across from me had to talk over it and I could hear everything they were saying mixed with music lol. Usually I gauge a Chipotle by their guacamole. And that's why this place gets 4 stars! I mean I'm a Chipotaholic as my GF says. I like their menu and options and eat at a Chipotle, usually once a week. You can check my other Chipotle reviews for info on what I order but basically chicken salad with guac and lots of hot salsa. Also tried their chips. Overall it was very satisfying and healthy. I'll be back soon, next time I'm working out here :)

Don't go to this location!! My husband has gotten sick twice. The second time was violent throwing up after eating a chicken bowl. Never again going to eat here!!!

  • Joyce E.

After waiting in the ridiculously long line (about 15 people) I finally placed my order and realized I was overcharged for my taco steak bowl. Since it was my first time eating at Chipotle, I thought that they charged extra for steak, but after eating at the Westlake location, I realized that they overcharged me! Some may say that it might be my fault for not catching their mistake, but that's the thing.. it was THEIR mistake. Also, for some reason the machine wasn't working and they were only accepting cash which was fine, however one of the employees came up to us and said "You're paying cash, right?" How about your reword your sentence there buddy and possibly say "Sorry, but we're only accepting cash since our machine is broken." As I was ordering my food, I definitely felt rushed. I also got a little bit of an attitude from the cashier when I asked her for a cup for water. The portions are huge, which is the only reason why this place deserves at least one star. I'd rather drive to the Westlake location, though.

Staff sucks....place is digustingly dirty.....they dont follow protocol for how much meat or rice or anything else for that that matter that they put in your tortilla or plate....smfh...this place needs their entire staff retrained and replace management FAST.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
