Sorry, We are updating this restaurant menu details.

As a transplant from Socal, this is the closest thing to border style mexican i have found. Espcially if you like carne Asada Fries! This use to be a Iguanas, they changed the name but very similar. Place it small but usually quick to get the orders out. Ordered the Carne Asada fries. Awesome. I come here all the time. Great for a mexican food fix.

We came here purposely for the Carne Asada Fries and had it for take out. The service was a bit slow as our take out took a while to come out. We ordered a mexican drink while we waited in the car for our order. The pineapple flavored drink was okay. Nothing special. When we got home we looked at our take out order and it was just not presentable and quite messy. Just take a look at the picture. The fries were so soggy and the meat was not tasty at all. The sour cream and guacamole overpowered the fries. It was only a 10 minute drive from the place to the house so it couldn't have been because it was sitting out. I probably wouldn't try this place again. We couldn't even finish this plate amongst the 3 of us because it was that bad. The portion to price and quality of food was not worth it in my opinion. I've tried Carne Asada fries but they didn't taste like this.

Horrible Carne Asada fries. -Fries were to crispy for the flimsy fork they provide. -The fries were on a plate, not a bowl so it made it even harder for me to get them on top of not being able to stab them. -There was more sour cream and guacamole than actually meat. It was more like sour cream and guacamole fries. -The Orange sauce here is horrible I put sauce on all my foods but this is just to tangy.

It's been months since I've gone to Mr. Taco. I love their burritos and orange hot sauce. I bought a burrito bowl today and was very disappointed. The rice was hard. Old rice perhaps? I will go again soon and update my review if it gets any better.

YAAS Mr. Taco YAAAS!! Tacos YAS. Carne Asada fries YAS. Burritos YAS. Chili cheese fries YAAAS!! that's all I usually eat but the other stuff I hear is pretty good too.

The food was average, meat was bland and yearned for flAvor yet the salsas were good. The service left much to be deSired. Definitely not worth another trip.

Try this place on Taco Tuesday!!! After many Tuesdays sampling the different meats, I have settled on two my favorites. Carnitas tacos and carne molida tacos. THEY ROCK!! The Carnitas is perfectly cooked, tender but with crisp edges. Perfect! The flavor of the carne molidas is so good. and for $1 each on Tuesdays you cannot go wrong. Last night I did 4 carnitas and 4 molida. I have a few left for lunch today.

I was pointing out my regular sushi place next door when my brother and I got a mid-day hankering for some street tacos. Upon walking in, the place reminded me a lot of La Vic's (for those of you familiar with that legendary San Jose spot). I tried a regular grilled chicken taco - only $2.00. If you want the standard street tacos, they are $1.75, but the regular version had the addition of beans. We took them home and surprisingly they held up decently and didn't fall apart. Great flavor on the chicken! After reading some of the other reviews on here, I guess Mr. Taco has some sort of orange sauce, too. I guess I wasn't far from the La Vic call-out after all....

This place is terrible. I ordered the enchilada plate and it was disgusting. Rice was old , hard and the enchiladas had a very weird after taste. I could not bring myself to eat the disgusting food that I paid $11 for. They also don't accept credit card. My first and last time at this place

  • Spencer R.

Gross food, way over priced. We ordered 3 small tacos, 1 quesadilla, monster dip and mr taco fries. Bill came out to be 30 dollars. The meat tasted old and reheated. For the cost there are dozens of taquerias better then this. I would not return

This has to be one of my favorite burrito spots in town. There food is always very consistent. It's a bit out of the way for me but I usually take the time and to come here. The one thing that I'm Not a fan of is the business hours consistency. Seems they've changed them a few times since I've been going here. It's defiantly not convenient to drive all the way there to find them closed due to hours change or closing early.

Mr. Taco is so close to home and I am so glad I gave it a second chance. My first visit here, I wasn't that impressed. However, by giving it more chances, I started to grow on it, plus the food did get much better than from my first visit. Usually I order the super mini burrito with al pastor, since I can't finish an actual sized burrito so this size is pretty perfect (still a little big but if I'm starving, I can finish it). So even though it's a mini, still pretty big! The burrito itself just has so much flavor and the al pastor gives it a good kick of spice. PLUS when you add the orange sauce they give you, the spices definitely kick it up a notch and I love it. The orange sauce is a little garlicy and definitely a bit spicy which I don't mind at all. It gives the burrito extra flavor with it's already tasty stuffing itself. The food does take a little longer to make but I don't mind because it always comes out fresh and delicious. Definitely my go to place when I really want a burrito, since I usually don't want to drive so far for La Vics.

I think it's more like a 3.5 stars based on averaging my experiences here. What Mr. Taco lacks is consistency. I love their tacos with grilled chicken or carne asada. Sometimes the tacos are filled to the brim with delicious, fresh ingredients, other times I get a few burnt and dried out pieces of meat with a small amount of onion and cilantro. It's hit or miss, which sucks because it could be so much more.

Clogged arteries galore! My boyfriend and I always come here when we're craving really good, cheap mexican fast food! We can literally split a carne asada burrito and Mr. Taco fries and be full for 5ever. It's THAT good and THAT filling. Be sure to ask for the student discount and if you're getting the fries, there's a special which makes it a bit cheaper. Yummm!!

    (4)
  • Stephen M.

It was good. The tacos were authentic street tacos, which is what I always expect. They advertise Taco Tuesday $1 a taco so I will return. My buddy got their super nachos with carne asada and was pleased

  • Shannon L.

Former Iguana's but similar menu items. I got two small tacos--really salty ground beef and dry chicken. I was unimpressed. The "potatoes" in the breakfast burritos are french fries. A couple people in our group asked for certain ingredients to be omitted but they were still included. I'm not sure that they can handle meal time rushes since there was only one cook on a Sunday afternoon. You are limited to 3 salsas at the salsa bar otherwise you'll be charged $0.25 each.

  • Ashley C.

3 stars after a shrimp burrito, chips and salsa. +drink was $11. Would have liked more chips, but the burrito was great. Overall a good meal, but a little more expensive than I would have liked. I am very happy they had the sparkling water Jari to drink! I will definitely be back to try other items. If I have as good experience next time I will raise to 4 stars (based on seafood menu, as I won't be trying any regular meat dishes because of pescetarian-ism).

  • Kevin H.

Pretty great for some nice burritos and nachos. Used to come here a lot but the quality has diminished slightly over the past year. Still decent though! Used to have SpotOn rewards but they stopped a short while back. Wish they'd bring it or something similar back.

  • Cecilia Jane N.

The food is really good! I've had the Mr. Nacho Fries twice and both times I was so good. The tacos are also good, but I just don't like the tortilla it come on, but that's okay. The burrito is also very filling and delicious. They also have a salsa bar where you can get your own salsa. I've only tried the mild one and it's super good. The service is not the best, but it's still okay.

    (4)
  • Samuel L.

It's not bad. The service was quick and the cashier was friendly. They ran out of ceviche during this trip, but it happens. The food however, left much to be desired. The portions were decent, but the rice was very dry in my burrito. My wife's taco meat were also dry. No the best reassurance for freshness.

  • Nancy M.

I have been going here every now and then, and slowly have watched the place go downhill. My last (and final) trip was today. Went for lunch and ordered food for 6 people. So yes, I ordered six items. Well I was then given 3 tiny salsa cups. When I reminded them that I ordered 6 items, I was told " you get 3 salsa cups per order". Wow! So at this point I am thinking okay do I have everyone split 1 salsa cup or pay the additional charge per salsa cup. On to the food. It has never been super tasty. But it's been decent. Today my taco salad not only was 1/4 full (I can't even call it skimping, it was more like robbery of my $7.50) I found a peel of a avocado in my salad. Spare yourself the waste of money, and the lack of portion size and hit up any other mexican food place.

This place has gone down hill, So sad it was a great place to eat . There are new cooks ,I ordered three tacos Carne asada and it had so much grease and fat in it also was burnt. Not coming back. I can to to whipple and get yummy tacos for $1.25 each

  • Manny S.

I enjoy eating at this restaurant. I used to eat here when it used to be Iguana's but recently I've visited a few times after new ownership and it's still delicious. I'm glad they still have the orange sauce it's one of the main reasons I choose to eat here. lol I've tried the super chicken burrito, chicken nachos, and chicken tacos (all w/ grilled chicken) and I have nothing bad to say about them. They have a few other sauces available in addition to the orange sauce.

    (5)
  • Alex C.

Burritos and quesadillas are pretty good. Orange sauce is good. It can get slow if they are a little busy at all. They got my order wrong a couple times already and just witnessed anther customer get their order wrong as well

    (3)
  • Anali L.

i ordered 4 tacos and a horchata my meat was burned and hard. the tortillas were cold i had a very difficult time eating my tacos because of how hard the meat was. my water was very good. the price is insane. more expensive compared to other mexican restaurants ill come back later to try some other foods and hopefully give it 4 stars.

This is a great taco spot on this side of Fremont, if I'm in south Fremont it's a truck over there but if your over here and want tacos or anything else stop by here.

    (5)
  • Zarlash Mersel T.

Honestly.. Just no. You can tell the quality of their food is not the best. I've been here a few times just because it's close to my job. I've tried their enchilada plate twice and both times the enchiladas were very dry, they barely put any sauce over them. The rice and beans are also really dry, especially the beans. They're all smashed together. And the salad on the side is the worst. It's sour with dry sour cream over it and brownish green guacamole all over. Terrible.. You're better off at Mc Donald's across the plaza.

  • Heidi M.

This place used to be iguanas, but is still pretty good. +1 love the orange sauce. I need to just but a bottle of it. +1 everything is made fresh +1 service is great. Whether I call in or walk in, everyone is super attentive and quick -1 quesadilla: it used to be slightly crispy, but I think they changed it and now it's just the usual soft tortilla. Unfortunately, the quesadilla was super soggy and falling apart bc on the pico di gallo. It was swimming in the juices. -1 nacho fries: I was hoping for some SoCal carne Asada fries they use nacho cheese instead of shredded, which I'm not a big fan With plenty of mexican places to eat around here, I would rather get Taqueria Los Gallos. Give this place a try and definitely get extra orange sauce!

  • Wendy T.

Bad avocado, bad shredded beef, fishy shrimp, bad beans and bad carne asada (beef steak). The worst Mexican restaurant we have even been. The guy was nice tho. But it will take more than nice to make people wanna come back. My husband burrito was thick and heavy with skin, very little meat (they give a little bit more). My shrimp was very oily (butter). Chips and salsa are very limited. They also did not have lengua.

    (2)
  • Xim E.

Very Friendly staff, I was hesitant after reading the bad reviews but oh well.. you can only decide if you try it yourself. This is REAL Mexican food! of course if you are used to eating taco bell you won't appreciate this. The tacos were street style which are awesome, their Horchata was awesome!

    (5)
  • Teresa M.

I understand why they have someone who doesn't speak or hear very well do over the phone orders. I ordered a veggie burrito with a few changes like add bell pepper and GRILLED onions. I got RAW onions which I refuse to eat and jalapeños with no lettuce. I even had to call back to make sure the order was correct and the lady hung up on me . I really do like this place but I tossed out my food and won't be going back if you can't get a simple order correct.

As always Mr Taco is the best taco place around. Can't forget about the twin sisters Maryland and Maryland.. Holding it down.. Shout out to the cooks there also. Long live Mr.Taco

  • Melanie G.

Taco Tuesdays as 1 dollar tacos are great. Their orange sauce is delicious especially On the quesadillas and tacos. My Boyfriend and I when we can't decide on something or it's Tuesday. We usually get tacos, pico de gillo and orange sauce to go!

    (4)
  • Nick N.

Though it seems like every other Mexican food place, I think it's pretty tasty. Super burritos are a must. And you have to use the orange salsa. It has a good flavor. You have to go on Tuesday for "Taco Tuesday" where the regular soft tacos are $1 each. They also have carne asada fries.

I use to come here a lot when I lived closer my favorite was always the nachos. But this most recent visit I asked for the super nacho with guacamole on the side. No where on the menu does it say the super nachos come with sour cream. I asked if they can please remake it because I am allergic to milk. They told me we can but we will have to charge you for it. They did the same to my quesadilla. I only get a 30 min lunch so instead of not eating I bought food all over again $25 later it was not worth it.

    (1)
  • Emily G.

This place has not disappointed me and I don't think they will ever will. Food is delicious and friendly. This is a small place and very clean. If I can eat this food everyday I will be here all the time.

They still owe me a free soda! Instead of going to La Vics in Hayward I decided to try the "famous chimichanga" since it's closer to home and it's been ages since I've had one. It was so gross, I only ate about 1/4 before I had to throw it away and I never wasted any food! Too many starving people in the world. The burrito cost cost about 6-7 bucks but if you want it chimichanga style you add a dollar and some odd cents to your total. For the 9 bucks I spent I could have went to Chipotle and be happy. The meat inside the burrito was so over cooked, it was charcoaled. i was chewing on chunchy blacked meat that crumbled and tasted like coal. They also put a huge proportion of beans in substitute for the gross meat. The front of the store had a huge sign that they offer a free soda with the purchase of a chimichanga but i never got or offered one. it was the icing on the bad service. NEVER EVER AGAIN.

  • Ronald W.

Foods pretty good. Not worth the price though. 5 dollars for chips and 2 cups of salsa? Are u high? Cuz i am and I won't even pay that much. 2 dollsars for the chips with no salsa.. so I'm payin 3$ for salsa? Like seriously. Quit robbing ppl. Flautas here are just Jose ole taquitos that are covered in cheap tomoatoes and onions. 8 bucks for it and u get 3 little ones. Lmao the robbery is real folks. Avoid this place unless u mind ordering double to be full!

Giving one star is saying a lot, tbh. If there was an option of no stars then that is what they would be given. Worst service of my life. First off, I called around 7:30pm to ask a simple question & no joke, the phone rang for a good few minutes. So we just decided to go down & order food. When we get there, there is only two customers in the store. One is already sitting down eating & another man was waiting for his take out order. Doesn't seem busy enough for someone to not answer the phone. We ordered & the cashier seemed very short & brief with us, almost in a sense of wanting to rush us through our order. My boyfriend asked to split the order with cash & card & the cashier completely ignored our request & then acted as if he never heard us. We sat down to wait for our food as another customer walked in. As the customer is ordering, the phone rings & the cashier looks at the phone then sets it back down. This happens a couple times & at this point, I'm pissed at how inconsiderate this little asshole is. We get our food & go home as it is starting to get late for our little one to be out. When we get home & look at our food, they forgot to add a few things to my order & barely gave us any shrimp when it was an additional $2 charge. They must be under new management or something because they're pretty shitty. I've never had service this bad from them before. Either fire your cashier or have him brush up on proper customer service skills.

Quick and yummy tacos. Nothing fancy or extraordinary. Good place, friendly staff, fast service.

A great replacement to the Iguanas that was previously located here. My best friend and me used to love getting a burrito from Iguana especially for their orange sauce. Looks like Mr Taco's staff who seem to have retained some of the old staff can dish out a mean orange sauce too, so no complaints. My sauce cravings easily satiated!

  • Celia K.

Mr. Taco is such a hidden gem in Fremont. They have a wide selection of burritos, tacos, nachos, fries, quesadillas, and sauces--all of which are really good and for very decent prices. My personal favorites from here are their carne asada burritos, jalapeno nachos, and Mr. Nacho fries. I think their food alone is delicious, but when you pair it with their special orange sauce... wow, it takes your taste buds to a whole 'nother level! The only reason I'm giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is because sometimes they run out of this magic orange stuff and I get really sad. I usually call in to order for pick-up, and instead of telling me how long it'll take before the food is ready, they ask me when I'll be ready to pick it up so that they can plan accordingly. How cool is that?! Great service, great food--definitely my go-to spot for Mexican food. Glad it's so close by!

  • Anisha G.

Food is consistent; and service is friendly. I like their carnitas regular tacos. Vegan brother thinks this place is legit too. Madre thought the food was bland for her vegetarian taste.

    (4)
  • Aneesh R.

Iguanas was a 4 star restaurant. However since the change to Mr taco, i feel that the quality of the meat has degraded a lot. I would give it a 3. However I would give 4 stars for their guacamole- which is $2.25 for a side of it and tastes pretty decent! Only thing i would come here for. Minus one star for the airhead at the counter that gave me and my friend chips and pico de gallo when we clearly said chips and guac, making us drive all the way back and ask him to give us our guac, only to have him insist that we said pico de gallo. Uhhh no!!

  • Siera O.

Mr. Taco is amazing!! I love the fact that they provide both good service and excellent food! My most favorite item to get is the nachos with meat, cheese, beans, cilantro, onions, and tomatoes. If you like nachos, you NEED to try Mr. Taco's nachos! You will not be disappointed at all!

    (5)
  • Jason K.

This place is straight legit! Came in hoping to find street tacos and found taco truck quality right here in front. Totally loved the carne asada street tacos. Will definitely be BACK!!

  • Meghan A.

I was visiting my sister-in-law in Fremont, and one of my main requirements for any California trip is Mexican food. We all chose to get burrito takeout from Mr. Taco, and it did not disappoint. My super burrito was wrapped in a nice tuggable flour tortilla, with rice, guac, cheese, and sour cream inside. It was heavenly and just oooooozed spice. I put some of their creamy spicy sauce in it, and that put the burrito over the top. My mouth is still watering thinking about that burrito. Nom nom nom.

    (4)
  • Sunil R.

Mr Taco is is a mom and pop shop in a strip mall in Fremont. I went there for convenience just looking for something quick and easy and was surprised at how good the food was. The girl at the counter seemed sweet. I got the tacos with the orange sauce and it was the bomb. They also have the tortas, burritos, quesadillas chimichanga and salads. Sure beat McDonalds that is next door.

New business that took over the well-known "Iguanas" (Home of the Burritozilla) featured on Man VS. Food. (for their 5lb burrito). Anyway this place is named differently, but apparently just different management, and same cooks?(someone correct me if im wrong) But that's what I was told. Ordered their version of the burritozilla. But actually its pretty much bigger than the original. The burritozilla (from Iguanas) was basically 3 super burritos. This place features an on-menu burrito which is double the size of a super burrito called the "Ginormous". OR you can have a feast and order a "Double-Ginormous" which was off menu, and being we like trying the off menu stuff; this is what we ordered. And it was worth every penny. Good for social media and taking pictures of it for the hype. But Taste wise: Its definitely good. & definitely going to come back and enjoy some normal sized burritos if im going by myself.

  • Russell Y.

Came here on friday with some friends and I finally ordered the biggest burrito they had on the menu. It took a good 10-15 minutes for all of our food to be ready (My order was made fresh so it took longer than usual) but it was definitely worth it. It came out a little bigger than my forearm so I was very satisfied trying to finish it. This was one of the first burritos I couldn't completely finish before getting full, so i'd come back when I get as hungry as I was Friday. lol

    (4)
  • Curtis S.

The "small tacos" are a great value. The guacamole is good, but not consistent from last visit. A little too much tomatillo in last batch. Good, but more avocado next time. This is a great place if you're hungry and want a great value.

    (4)
  • Miguel C.

I've gone here time and time again and I love their food. It is so delicious and they have an amazing orange sauce. I gave it 4 because it would be nice if they gave free chips and prices were cheaper but overall a great place to go and their prices are still fair

    (4)
  • Cassandra B.

Horrible Customer Service. The food was bland. We didn't get what we ordered. Not going back or referring to any friends or family members.

  • Annissa H.

I miss Iguanas!! :( The menu is basically the same thing as Iguanas (food wise), except physically it's not as nice looking. I had a burrito and nachos here. It looks just like Iguana's except the meat tastes different. It's definitely a different kind of marinade and it tasted sweeter to me. I didn't really like it. I came here to fulfill my Iguanas craving and was bewildered and confused to where it went and what the hell a Mr Taco was. Gave it a try and I'm not too excited to come back. I think I'll stick with the taco truck near by, but i won't completely object eating here.

I love this place!!!! Service was great, everyone was very friendly. Very clean and the food was so good. Love love the orange sauce!! I ordered tacos, my husband got the burrito and my freind got the fully loaded nachos.....everything was awesome!!!!!

  • Mo S.

Mr. Taco, I must eat here about once every two weeks or so. I would say that there shrimp burrito is probably my favorite dish to order. I've never actually ordered the "BurritoZilla", but I've heard it's big. I did once order the nacho fries, that won't do again. Not because they were bad, but because of the huge portion size. All in all I think this place is great, and you must ask for orange sauce with everything you eat... well I do...

  • N S.

Ate there just tonight. Was a bit sad to see it had changed business name and the regulars I knew from years ago were no longer there (they were there the whole 6 years I was living nearby). The quality is down to about average for a generic strip mall Taqueria. I got a regular burrito no pico. Meat was dry and a bit on the bland side, otherwise it was normal burrito fare. My wife was notably unimpressed and she's no connoisseur of burrito's like myself. Customer service was fine and the place is surprisingly clean. Just wish it was more authentic and wholesome eating rather than what I'd expect from a food court.

Tried this place for the first time and it was exceptionally delicious! Got the taco salad with chicken And it was so flavorful. I really liked that the place was clean and it wasn't hectic at all. It is a small location but it wasn't crowed at all. The service was good as well and prices are reasonably affordable which is the best part! Highly recommend going to this place if you want some good Mexican food!

Besides that taco stand on 1st street after getting drunk at Koji's, this is my go to taco place -- especially during Taco Tuesday. My highlight for the work week is getting those tacos on Tuesdays. Best tacos EVER! Well, maybe it was the orange sauce. Come and get them. My half mexican husband is appalled by the fact I can't have my tacos without any orange sauce. Well, whatever. I'm not mexican, I can have my orange sauce. They make them pretty fast and efficient and you can get a tub of orange sauce for $2.00. Taco Tuesdays are a buck! They also have SpotOn; A check in app that you can get points from and you get free tacos, burritos, etc. Awesome place, and they have awesome workers, too. Keep smiling Mr. Taco peeps!

They replaced iguanas. Well it was for the better cuz... IT WAS SOO YUMMY! Taco tuesday was like the taco wedsday at The Mexican! Also the burritos and sauces are soo awsome. We will definitely be back! Tasty and full of flavor!

Been here a couple times to make sure it was just a one time "mistake" but every time we've been here the food is sooooo bland. No flavor whatsoever. Good thing we had Tapatio at home to add to the the super chicken taco.

  • Henry S.

Mr. Taco's was pretty good. Not the best Mexican I've ever had but decent. Their carne asada fries were good and their quesadilla was huge! Breakfast burritos are good here also!

    (4)
  • Nelly H.

Just terrible. Ordered chilaquiles which were cold greasy, the eggs rubbery, side of beans lumpy and cold--unedible-- it came with tater tots, really? I've had better at upscale diners cooked by non Mexicans -- Husbands combo plate also cold-- the carne asada chewy and flavorless. Son burrito with beans and cheese cols and bland-- basically chewing on cold cheese and tortilla.

I love this place this a good mexican food. tacos and nacho fries are my favorite the salsas ate so good. I eat here very often and all the time no matter what I order its always good and the service its good too.

Mr. Taco is great little restaurant. The staff is friendly and the place is super clean! Now for the food, I have no complaints. They have a great variety of different Mexican dishes and all the ones I've tried are so yummy. I really recommend their carne asada fries and bacon cheese fries. They're so good and you get big portions for the price! Overall I really like this restaurant and the service! Definitely recommend

Went to Mr. Taco after reading some reviews. This location has been some sort of Taqueria for as long as I can remember and it has always failed. The latest victim Iguanas. After trying Mr. Taco I am thoroughly unimpressed. I would give 2.5 stars if possible but not 3. I ordered Carne Asada Super Nachos $6.50 and one chicken taco $3.25. Yes that is correct $3.25 for a singular taco. Although it was a large taco the value was not there when I could have gotten a burrito for $2.00 more. The chicken was however very soft and flavorful. Going onto the Nacho's, they were good but not great. The carne asada was cooked well but there was too much salsa and no real cheese. It was all canned fake yellow cheese from god knows where and there was no guac on it at all. Grand total $10.43. Did not feel like I got my money's worth. Give this place a shot if you are curious but don't go in with high expectations or you will be disappointed.

My husband walked in to get a burrito and when he ordered, the 'cook' was helping with maintenance work. He stopped what he was doing and began to handle the food and cook without even washing his hands!! My husband said cancel the order and walked out! Gross! The meat even looked like it came out of a can!

$1 tacos on TUES?! A small salsa bar and free chips. Chicken nuggets child menu along with some other things, how can I resist? Loved it here. The flavors are good and it was relatively inexpensive. Im thinking about coming back here tomorrow!

I was pretty disappointed when Iguana's closed, particularly because I was starting to like their orange sauce more than La Victoria's. I finally gave Mr. Taco a try, and I must say, I was impressed. They installed a new flat screen TV, and it still had a cool atmosphere like Iguana's. The Al Pastor super burrito was very flavorful. I also thought their orange sauce was quite comparable, and still better than La Victoria's orange sauce. The service was quick and friendly as well. I will definitely be back!

Great food and a friendly staff. You cannot go wrong here. Prices are good too. But it's so good, they need more seats. :)

Had the pastor mini super burrito. It was good, not amazing...but definitely not horrible. Tasted fresh, had some flavor, not dry...however, overall it just wasn't a memorable meal. Fast and friendly service, clean.

It's not great but not bad either. I go there when don't want to travel to a better place.

stoped here for lunch one random day, place waas a ghost town. ordered the super buritto carne asada. Buritto was typical and the carne was nothing remarkable but the orange sauce they give you is great. It rivals that one other place in san jose o_O i would drink a gallon of that sauce from this place though.

This place is a solid 4 stars for me. If you didn't know, Iguanas used to be here right before these guys. Nothing seems to have changed except the new orange walls, new name, new beverage cooler and new ownership.. They even have the same cooks working here. The menu has changed but seems to have similar items as iguanas (ie. massive burrito, similar layout) plus some extras... But one of my favorite items from Iguanas.. Monster Dip, is now gone! I like that they have a chimichanga option for any burrito, add $1. It says "chimichanga cowabunga style" on the menu which sounds like its something beyond just a bathe in the deep frier, but it's not.. Just a regular chimi upgrade, which makes it sound a bit stupid having the whole "cowabunga" in there as well.. but whatever.. I love chimi's, so this is a win in my book. I got a super burrito chimi style. It comes dry, meaning no sour cream, no salsa inside... Which was a downgrade to my meal because it's no longer an ingredient.. and has to be put on with every bite. I also don't understand why some places don't put lettuce and cilantro in their burritos. Iguanas didn't and this place doesn't either. The main star in this burrito was the big chunks of steak and the deep fried tortilla.. Otherwise there wasn't anything special or different about this place from everywhere else but it was a well packed and good sized super.. plus it tasted pretty good after i managed to work in my sour creme, salsa and hot sauce into my burrito. They still have the Iguanas orange sauce which is nice.. But considering that this is a new business with a whole new name.. you would think that they would do something to make it their own. I always felt that the orange sauce was missing something, and this was their opportunity to do something about it. My girl ordered the cheese enchilada which she liked and thought that the sauce was a stand out. I didn't try it.. not a real fan of enchiladas.. But she didn't manage to get through more than half of it before getting bored. She may not have exactly said that.. But it's the same thing she does whenever she is tired of eating a certain dish. Not full, but doesn't feel like eating anymore. The chips here are also EXACTLY the same as iquanas chips, which I believe are fresh made. Our meal with two small drinks came out to about $22, which is a bit on the high side. Plus that's not including the chips that my girl bought halfway through the meal.. Another $2. I'm all for supporting mom and pop businesses, but these days.. A lot of people forget about the FOOD and instead concentrate on what sounds and looks fun. This place may not have been original or thought outside the box much.. But they still have good food and are local, so I'll be back. Their food although doesn't justify the cost.. I think my super burrito was $7 and some change without the chimi upgrade. About $2 more than the current average for a super.

Although it took longer than expected, I was very happy with the tacos. I got a carnitas (pork) taco and and an asada (beef) taco and both were delicious. Hot sauce could have used a little more kick, but I'm not complaining.

These tacos are addicting. I haven/t moved off the Carnitas or Al Pastor yet, it's so good. At some point I will try more off their extensive menu. Get the Guac, very fresh, they give you a big portion, big enough for two people. I sat through traffic, went way off the path on my way home just to get some!

terrible burrito. the sauce is not vegan & the rice is not vegetarian, so beware. (Chicken Broth in the rice and dairy in the salsa they give you with the chips). The tortilla was soggy.

Ordered the Carne Asada Super Quesadilla and the Carnitas Super Burrito. Food wasn't bad; service was horrible. It took them 25 minutes to take my order, make the food, and get it to me. Oh, and they couldn't quite figure out which was my order either.

Brought a few of our friends here last weekend since everyone wants something fast and filling. We ordered tacos, nacho fries, fajitas, burrito, shrimp hard taco and salad. Everything was delicious! Everything was cooked perfectly and seasoned well. I really hope there will be more people supporting this place because the food is awesome!

I was craving carne asada fries and wanted to eat something really unhealthy one time! Ive been here when it was Iguanas and I really cant tell the difference only that they give you less meat now. The orange sauce is still the one and it was my boyfriend's first time and he liked it.

The Lengua Tacos were pretty good. The place is quaint and clean. It used to be another Mexican Restaurant prior to Mr. Taco.

I love the enchiladas! With all that cheese melted over it and the nice sides of rice and beans -- you can't go wrong! The portions are a good size and the ingredients fresh. The student discounts make it even better!

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
