Great Hawaiian grindz. The Loco Moco is soo on point it's crazy. Parking sucks here. Not their fault. If Hawaiian drive-inn is the benchmark then the Grill is better in my eyes. Better price point on the spam musubi and the super tasty loco Moco. Eat all day. Aloha.

Came here on a whim and was pleasantly surprised. I first tried the spam masubi. Thick pieces bcuz they pack on the rice. Prefer less but it's fine. One piece will fill you up. I've also tried the kalua pork. It's ok - nothing mind blowing. Good sized portions and I'm a fan of their macaroni salad! I think my fave is their Loco Moco! Sauce isn't too thick and overbearing. Again, good size patties. Service is ok. Pretty efficient. Restaurant is small but clean with a flat screen in the corner. Parking lot is a pain in the *ss.

I know most people will say this is the middle of the road local Hawaii style food. Being born and raised from Hawaii and having searched for local style food around the bay area, I'll have to say this is a step up from L&L which in my opinion is below average (depending on which location seems like it varies from site to site). I give this a 4 star because it is very difficult to find anything decent in this realm and I find comfort in their spam musubi's and loco moco. Yes, these dishes are easy to make at home, but when we are on the road doing errands (like shopping at Target next door), this hits the spot! I hope this establishment is around for a while.

Pretty average as average can be. It's grilled Hawaiian food and I can't say that I hated, but also can't say that I loved. They do, however, give you a lot for what it's worth. So let's get down to business: ~ Parking ~ I can imagine how hectic it can be during lunch time. One row in front of the place shared with two other restaurants, but more space over by Dick's. Only you'd have to walk across the nearly deadly intersection/entrance crossing. ~ Service ~ OK help from the kid taking orders. No issue, nor heavy smiles either. He did his job. ~ Dining ~ A large boring mural of Hawaii, a surfer, and sea turtle, but that's about it. They need an LED monitor or something. As far as the tables, they seem fine, fairly clean. ~ Drumroll for the FOOD ~ Hawaiian BBQ Mix $9.29: One short rib, soft and tender. Barbecue beef, was pretty good, not so dry or tough. The barbecue chicken was tender as well. All three went well with the teriyaki or katsu sauce. The sauces were self-serve from a dispenser. And regarding the mac salad, blah, didn't like it. Mini Meal chicken katsu $5.99: Meh, I've had better. I didn't like the breading I guess. Wasn't as crunchy as I expected, just kinda boring. Then again, they did give a lot. Had to keep dipping it in katsu for flavor though. Spam Masubi (2pc) $3.59: More rice and thin slice of spam. Not to mention the seaweed falling apart. It wasn't strong enough. I'm not buying this again. ~ Overall ~ It serves its purpose if you're in the Hawaiin food mood, and I'll probably be back to try their seafood mix or lau lau. But between Ohana, L&L, Hula BBQ, and here. I'd probably rank this place in 3rd. Give me a fatty piece of pork, and it'll go up a notch.

The food tasted fresh, clean, and good. I had the chicken combo plate and the spam musubi and both were well seasoned, balanced and cooked to perfection. The spam musubi did have more rice than most places I've been to but it did not leave a salty taste in my mouth. The menu seem to have what I've come to understand as crowd pleasers. The service was good and I was happy that they take American Express. I would give 5 stars but because I'm not an expert on this cuisine I wouldn't want to disappoint anyone. However like most other things in this world, authenticity is hard to come by especially if the place is out of its local element but based on taste and what I like, this place is really a 5 star for sure.

Hugeeeeeee portions!! Ordered the BBQ chicken plate with the BBQ sauce on the side. Was surprised to find that the plate had 3 huge pieces of grilled chicken. Chicken was juicy and thick, and not hammered down to a thin piece. Even better, the chicken was sitting on a bed of steamed veggies. Would definitely recommend. One plate will feed like three people!

I give this place 3 1/2 stars which due to app limitations gets rounded up to 4 stars for the following reasons: 1. The cashiers often struggle to understand the order they are taking (last several trips here over half our order was wrong) (negative star...) 2. The portions are quite generous! 3. Chicken Katsu is crispy & tasty - negative is they don't have real tonkatsu sauce. It's a runny sweet & sour sauce! 3. BBQ mix plate doesn't come low carb- so for $.50 cents extra they will upgrade to Brown rice. 4. Spam musubi - is ok. The rice is MASSIVE! 5. Chicken Teriyaki is good & tender Overall a nice change of pace to L&L and Waikiki Drive in (Concord)

if you need your fix of Hawaiian BBQ place this fits the bill. their grilled food was better than the chicken katsu. we had a combo plate chicken bbq and chicken katsu. the grill chicken was good but their katsu had too much breading and little chicken. also it was fried a little too long so it was very crunchy. still good if you want cheap and crave hawaiian.

My favorite Hawaiin food place. My family is from the islands and this is as close to authentic as it gets! Their rice is always cooked perfectly!

Good food. My family and I enjoy it more than L&L. I would recommend this place! It's not too pricey either!

Me and my wife order for take out. It was our first time. Food was excellent. She ordered the bbq mix and i ordered the Moco Loco. Both portions were big. Food was sevred fresh and hot. We also order some sides. All for about $25 bucks. The inside was very clean. We will definitely be back.

I stopped by here and picked up a Mini Curry Chicken which comes with rice, chicken, veggies, and macaroni salad. I also ordered the BBQ Chicken Musubi. The portions are very large and this would be my only meal of the day. 1. The Curry Chicken was okay but it did have quite a bit of fat so I couldn't have more than a few bites. Rice is just that and the macaroni salad was again just okay. 2. The BBQ Chicken Musubi chicken was extremely dry and wrapped over a very large scoop of rice, which fell apart when I tried to eat, wrapped in dry dry dry seaweed. Had I known there would be no wonderful sauce I would have added some. My first impression was that the food was acceptable if you wanted large portions but I determined that this was not a place I would return to in the future. Fast forward to an hour later and the cramping and nausea had started. At this point I knew I was in for a very long and painful night and I was not 'disappointed'. Let's just say I am very grateful to be working from home today without going into any more details. I did call and speak to a manager and explained the situation just in case anyone else happened to get sick and call. He was concerned and let me know that they have insurance for this kind of thing and he wanted to make sure I was okay. Was it food poisoning? I don't know but I won't be going back ever. The one star is for the managers concern for my health.

I was happy to hear that a Hawaiian restaurant opened up near my home that wasn't an L & L Hawaiian Barbecue store. The whole L & L chain has been serving below average Hawaiian food for quite some time now. They're not bad, but just not good anymore like they were when they first started. This restaurant is very similar to an L & L Hawaiian Barbecue, as their format and menu is pretty much the same. This Dublin store is new and very clean, and their employees were very nice. Their food & portions were decent, and their prices were fair. I was able to order both their Fish & BBQ chicken plate and their Hawaiian BBQ mix plate for under $20. Their food is better than an L & L Hawaiian Barbecue, but it's not great. It's a cool alternative restaurant than your generic L & L; but nevertheless, Hawaiian Grill Express is still a chain restaurant.

This is a great place for quality food, generous portions at good prices. I have had the salmon teriyaki bowl, the whitefish, honey prawns, lumpia, Kalua pork and won ton soup. The full meals have huge portions of the main dish, white rice and macaroni salad. I usually get the smaller portion and am more than satisfied. The quality of the food is outstanding. It is fresh and of good quality. The whitefish and prawns and my favorites. This says a lot because I don't ever order fish from a quick serve type of place. Service is good. There usually is a steady stream of people coming and going, with lots of take-out orders. I'm not a Hawaiian food expert and have heard this place isn't "authentic". Fine with me, I like what they offer and will return going forward.

We didn't want to try the food at the Premium Outlooks Food Court. So, Yelp helped us find this place, which is across the street from the Outlet in a newer, clean strip mall. It's like a L&L or Ono Hawaiian place. Even the menu looks like Ono/L&L's. We tried: 1. Spam Misubi 2 pcs for $3.29. Skip this. Better at L&L and Ono. Heck, I can make a better tasting one. The rice was hot and falling apart, bland. 2. Chicken katsu, $7.79 for a large portion which I could not finish (take home!). It came over a small bed of cabbage and a couple of broccoli pieces, macaroni salad (better at L&L), 2 scoops of rice. I liked this chicken but not the macaroni. They have a stand on the side where you help yourself to teriyaki sauce and katsu sauce in one of those pump dispensers. The Katsu sauce doesn't taste very good, I prefer the ones in the jars you buy at the store. 3. Loco Moco $7.99. 2 beef patties, fried, slathered in gravy over rice with a fried egg on top, 3 scoops rice with macaroni. Hubby loves his dish. The gravy was OK, fried beef patty is a fried beef patty. Food is OK. Chicken katsu was my favorite here.

Let me start by saying that i was born and raised in Hawaii. So I think I'm more than qualified to give this review. We moved around this area a few months back, and was happy to see a newish joint trying to serve my favorite foods from back home. It's located in a sparkling new strip mall, so everything you see around you is fairly new. Every other review given about this place is for the most part true. Their menu looks like an L&L menu, but let me tell you, L&L has gone downhill in my opinion. This place is almost a breath of fresh cholesterol. And these guys are all super friendly. What I've eaten here on my numerous visits so far...chicken katsu, bbq chicken, teri beef, bbq ribs, kalua plate, and some musubi. All pretty good fare. The katsu is done right, crispy and meaty. BBQ chicken cooked nicely, Beef is nice and....beefy? A few recommendations for the owners to make it a little more authentic. The bbq ribs aren't the greatest. Maybe chahnge suppliers? For your kalua pork, mix in the cabbage with it, and not just use cabbage as the bed. When I ask for more napkins, could I please have more than one? Switch out the katsu sauce and use authentic tonkatsu japanese sauce. The thick and sweet one. And yes the portions are big! But my 110 pound wife can down an entire chicken katsu plate! Geez, i better watch her.

WARNING: do not look at their online menu on an empty stomach!! I've had the bbq chicken plate and it's always yummy in my tummy! Comes with 2 scoops of white rice (pay $2.00 extra for brown rice instead of white rice) and a large helping of macaroni salad. You can't eat Hawaiian BBQ without the macaroni salad! They take phone orders which is convenient. Next time, I'll try the loco moco and chicken katsu. The spam musubi also looks yummy. The BBQ chicken is always good when I order it, it's hard for me to try something new!

Service was great and I got my teriyaki chicken bowl in decent time. This whole place had a very island-vibe and the piña colada drink was very refreshing! Highly recommend the teriyaki bowl, best one I've ever had.

Your typical Hawaiian BBQ spot similar to L&L and Ohana. Our go-to fast food Hawaiian spot is L&L but we decided to try Hawaiian Grill Express last week. + Distance from home is closer than L&L + Fast and friendly service + Clean restaurant + Vast menu plus, tropical smoothies (although I didn't try one) + Wait staff brings the food to your table so you don't have to pick it up at the counter + Large portions + Tasty food + Decent prices - No saimin soup. They do have soup options but not spam saimin, which is what I usually get when craving soup - Spam musubi is sold in 2s. cannot buy individually. - Curry Chicken could use more sauce Hubby and I shared a Curry Chicken Katsu, BBQ Beef Noodle Soup and Spam Musubi. I also ordered a side of brown rice. The curry had a hint of spice and nice flavor overall. I liked that they serve the curry sauce on the side, in a separate container, but I wish it was bigger. The portion size of the meal itself was quite large and we had leftovers to bring home. The soup was loaded with veggies and BBQ Beef tasted yummy. I actually ate the beef more w/the brown rice than the actual soup itself. Next time I will request less veggies and more broth. Spam musubi was jam-packed with rice and fell apart easily. Other than that it was pretty good.

I like this place and I would come back here. I ordered the kalua pork and spam musubi. The pork was moist and the musubi was good. It had a lot of rice in it, but that's okay. The employees were nice and the Restuarant is clean. It's like other Hawaiian chain restaurants and easily comparable. Nevertheless this is a good spot for lunch with friends.

A typical chain for quick meals. Got my order in less than 10 minutes. Chicken Katsu - decent portion of meat and rice, breading was too crunchy that I couldn't enjoy the meat. Didn't bother to eat the macaroni or veggies. Spam Musubi - consistent taste with most places that offer this. Slice of spam was not too thin, and comes with a brick of rice. Katsu Sauce - the color is very light and tastes sweeter than I expected. Teriyaki Sauce - a bit on the salty side; it tastes more like soy sauce than typical teriyaki sauce.

This place is great for the quality and quantity of food. I recommend the BBQ combo plate: you get some short ribs, beef and chicken. Also, there macaroni salad is better than most. Very flavorful without sloppy or overpowering mayo flavor. Your food will be served on plastic plates but what do you expect for ~ $8. If the food stays fresh and gives those huge portions, I'll definitely be coming back for more.

Hawaiian Grill Express has the usual hawaiian items. lunch specials only for teriyaki chicken, katsu chicken, bbq chicken and the like. premium entrees ala carte. eats: curry chicken katsu(7.79) -too much breading, chicken dry, curry bland -strong msg aftertaste -macaroni salad fresh and deliz -2 scoops rice ok take outs: -good value, fad service(4 stars)-got cup for water without asking for it -indoor seating for 30+ people. -food average-too much msg.

Finally a good Hawaiian spot in Dublin! Great food, speedy service, and friendly staff. First time here, so I had to ponder the menu for a minute. Staff was very helpful and patient. We ordered take out, and our food was ready in 10 minutes. Had the chicken combo plate, which was half chicken katsu and half bbq chicken, served with rice and a side of macaroni salad. The food was delicious. The bbq grilled just right, the katsu just crispy enough, and as much sauce as needed for either, at your disposal! The macaroni salad tasted fresh and flavorful. The portions were plenty liberal as well. One thing did I noticed was about the rice. Most places only serve you ONE mound of rice. This place serves you TWO scoops of rice! It's hard finding good food places that actually serve enough rice for us rice lovers :) Will come back to try some lumpia and their smoothies!

I work very close by and when I saw this place open I had to try it! It did not disappoint. Fast and friendly service in a clean restaurant. The menu is wonderful with many choices as well as a wide variety of drink choices. I ordered the BBQ Chicken combo with BBQ Beef. They give great sized portions, so be prepared to ask for a bag to go! I had a great experience there so much that I had them cater my office party.

An update... Same good food, same quick service. The wall that was just painted before now has a 40 ft long mural of island scenes. Looks a little more hawaiian now..

I'm very glad I didn't have my phone to see the 3.5 rating on yelp, because this place is definitely a 4 star! So let's make this simple: What makes this a 4 star simple eatery: -a quick meal -clean -fast service -various items priced reasonably -large portions -yummy macaroni (but please separate the macaroni if it is touching other sauces) -milk tea shop few doors down :3

Hawaiian Grill Express... Yummie food brought to you very fast (express speed!). We ordered the salmon, bbq chicken combo and spam and egg! I really loved the bbq chicken as it was seasoned well and very juicy, my children devoured chicken katsu (although I thought it was a little greasy). The spam and egg is something you could easily do at home but husband craved for it. I like that the interior is clean and service is friendly and quick. The price is on the higher side for "fast food" but you get large portions and it's plenty of food even to share. If you want something fast and good! This is a good pace to stop by and try!

My family have been to Hawaiian Grill Express a few times and like this place much better than our local L&L. We've had their Hawaiian BBQ chicken & beef, Loco Moco, Kalbi short ribs, Teriyaki chicken rice plates served with rice and macaroni salad, chicken katsu, spam musubi (our fave) and tropical smoothies - Hawaiian Sunrise: passion fruit, mango & papaya, Hawaiian Sunset: passion fruit, banana, strawberry, and a Guava smoothie (my fave). The food is made to order, served fresh, hot and tasty too. The place is pretty clean and the service is always friendly.

I believe I ordered a chicken teriyaki, it was pretty good, nothing that I would go out of my way for. The worker was pretty friendly and the decor was clean and modern! You should try this place! Update: The chicken is so freakin juicy pmfg it is so good and the rice is so perfect I'm in love

The pot stickers were very soggy so I was a bit unimpressed. I did have an order of the spam masubi and was ok. I though there was a bit too much rice. I did not have some of their main dishes but can see that they give you a generous portions. So the food is ok if you have a craving for fast Hawaiian and like large portions of rice.

  • Anna J.

Ordered some party trays (chicken katsu, chicken teryaki, kalbi) for a birthday party - ordered a la carte rather than using their "party packs" because rice and salad is easy enough to do by yourself, even for 30 people. Food was tasty and ready on time, no complaints.

There was a slight communication problem today. I meant to order a Barbeque Chicken plate, but I inadvertently used the word combo at the end, not knowing that they have a Chicken Combo plate. I slipped and used the word combo to mean that it includes stuff like macaroni and other items. After calling the restaurant and informing them of their "error," they graciously agreed to make the plate I desired. Soon after the call, I realized how I contributed to the miscommunication and offered to split the cost several times when I returned to pick up my order. The order taker graciously declined, saying that people make similar mistakes all the time and that he should have double-checked or clarified with me. He also asked me what I thought of the food. Whoa! I was momentarily taken back! Who says this in a typical low cost fast-food establishment? When your day often consists of series of small trials and tribulations, isn't it great when someone blesses you with graceful service? Even if you don't consider the food here more than just reasonably good and closer parking a little challenging, this place deserves your patronage (and hopefully earns it).

Had chicken katsu to go The portion was a big; could not finish it one time meal. Steam rice, macaroni salad, salad under chicken katsu. Good price and fast service Will go back if i am craving chicken katsu later.

I love their Chicken Katsu! It's always so fresh when they bring it to you--really hot, just the way I like my food. I love how generous they are with their portions because I'll always end up with leftovers for dinner or for lunch the next day. On top of all that, the employees are super nice. Definitely one of my favorite lunch spots! My only advice is to come either before 12:00pm or after 1:30pm, that's when I'm able to get a table!

The quality of the food and the excellent service makes this place FABULOUS!!!! Thats definitely my first impression, as this would be our first time here. Went here on a whim with my boyfriend on Halloween, and I am really glad that we did! We had the pleasure of Jeff taking our order as he managed the POS. - Hawaiian BBQ Mix: BBQ Chicken, BBQ Beef, and Kalbi Came with two scoops of white rice and one scoop of macaroni salad, and vegetables - Honey Walnut Shrimp w/ white rice and vegetables - Pina Colada slushie Huge, FABULOUS portions in my opinion. FRESH!! FRESH!!FRESH!!! The price is also very reasonable, and the taste of the food is delicious! There were a few of us that were sitting at some tables waiting on To Go orders, and Jeff remembered every singe one of us that placed what order, and went around to the tables distributing them. He also was very friendly, and enthusiastic the whole time. He owned that POS station like a pro!!!! Looking forward to returning soon - definitely going to try the Chicken Katsu next time, and the Loco Moco. Will be updating my review then!

I think its safe to say that if you tried one hawaiian bbq joint you've had them all. Even though the name of the restaurant are different their menus are essentially the same. I came in and had the chicken combo and was actually impressed with the chicken katsu. The grilled "bbq" chicken not so much. The katsu was fried fresh and had a nice crispy batter to it while the bbq chicken was lacking in flavor. They charge extra for brown rice and its self serve katsu sauce. Portions are smaller than your standard L&L. Overall good food but nothing to be overly excited about.

We have been here twice now. Both times, we shared a chicken bowl, which included rice, chicken and broccoli. Price was reasonable and we loved the chicken. It's in a plaza that has boba drinks and also a yogurt shop. Come here for lunch, and then go have dessert and a drink at the other nearby shops!

I was craving Hawaiian food and saw the great reviews about this place and saw that it was a brand new place. I ordered the Hawaiian barbecue beef which came with rice, Mac salad and veggies. It was a whole lot of food, it looked and smelled great so I was anxious to dig in. The Mac salad was great, rice and veggies were average but the beef was so tough and chewy and full of fat. I could only eat a little bit of the beef and the rest I had to throw away since I couldn't chew it. I was very disappointed, I will just be sticking to L&L.

They management needs to train the staff on cleanliness and proper food handling STAT. The employees at the register take the money from the customers then put utensils on the trays or in to-go bags. One employee was at her face and touching her hair. I also saw her wiping her nose. Never to wash her hands or put gloves on. Grosssss! At least the girl who took my order had gloves on when she gave me my food. Tempted to report them...

Excellent Hawaiian food. So much better than any of the other places around the Valley. The seafood is very fresh and the portions are big. The price is right too. Instead of fast-food, try this. Won't be disappointed. Need more of these!

Starting to really love these guys. They made all my substitutions thus far. They're always quick with everything and their smoothies come out in 2 minutes usually. They even gave me a free curry on the side this time. Except when I got home, I noticed that they forgot my macaroni salad that was supposed to be substituted with veggies! Try again, Hawaiian Grill Express, try again!

My sister loves this place, but for me, it's either a hit or miss. I always order the chicken katsu (mini meal) and there are times when the chicken was so thin that I felt like i was just eating the fried oil. I do think that the portion size is very reasonable for the price! It's actually a lot. I started ordering the half meals because I could never finish the regular sized meals. My sister gets the loco mock (and she loves it)!

Good Hawaiian plate food and friendly service - a great start to hopefully a permanent fixture in the Dublin area. The food was freshly prepared and came without a long wait. We ordered a mini Chicken Katsu, mini Island White Fish, Loco Moco, Spam Musubi, Crab Rangoon and finished it off with Malasadas and a Hawaiian Ocean smoothie. The katsu was breaded, fried perfectly and tender on the inside. The katsu sauce, in my opinion is better than the one served at L&L. The white fish was panko crusted and fried perfectly on the outside, tender and flaky on the inside. The Loco Moco was good, with rice, nicely seasoned beef patty and brown gravy that wasn't overly salty. The side of Mac Salad was done well - creamy with just a tinge of tuna mixed in. The Spam Musubi was good. Crab Rangoon was also pretty good - it was deep fried wonton peel with cream cheese and little bits of crab on the inside. Serving packets of biohazard red sweet and sour sauce sealed the deal. The Malasadas were super dope - fried doughballs sprinkled with granulated sugar. We couldn't keep the kids away from the Malasadas - they were literally fighting over who got to finish them off. Finally, the Hawaiian Ocean smoothie was a pina colada with strawberry and pineapple juice. Overall, the whole family came away impressed with the food - plenty of flavor without a ton of salt. Located within the Fallon plaza opposite Dick's Sporting Goods, I guessing this is soon to be a very busy eatery for people after they're done shopping at the outlets and/or Target.

FAIL. This is bad even by McDonald's standards. I ordered the Kalua pork and lau lau combo with no Mac salad, as I don't like mayo. First thing I see in the box: a huge dump of Mac salad touching almost everything, even though the receipt confirms "no Mac." Unwrapping the lau lau reveals a golf ball size chunk of fat (no exaggeration) and literally one bite of pork. I didn't even try it because I was so grossed out. The Kalua pork was barely edible. I don't expect pork to be lean, but I don't like mouthfuls of meat mixed with big chunks of fat. No spit takes, thank you. $10 wasted. Not again.

My wife and I were hungry and we saw the 580 freeway...no way we were going to get on that, so we hopped off the road and stopped by for some Hawaiin. This place is GREAT! The food is well done and contains the typical fair, masubi, BBQ plates, name it, they have it. For a quick, in expensive bite in very clean environment that loses it's pretentiousness and focuses on the food, I recommend this place!

Fast food. Good size portions. Not a fan of pencil size lumpia - not much to taste. Crab Rangoon was better. Mini Chicken Katsu had lots of food. Was not a fan of the chicken breading. I'll have to try this place again after they've been open a while. They have a flow problem with having the register at the drink machine... Easily fixable...? Nice and friendly staff.

I came here almost a week ago with my sister and it was delicious! I was very hesitant at first because there was barely anyone there; probably because it wasn't near dinner time... Anyway, the place is more of a fast-food-type of service, kind of like Fatfish, so don't expect waiters who are hella nice to you because there are none. I'm not saying the workers aren't nice, just don't expect someone to serve you; you actually got to get up and order. Five minutes after we ordered, our food came! So quick! The food was amazing!!! My sister said to only get the mini meals because they are cheap and they will satisfy you, so I did! I got the Curry Chicken and it was delicious! They also served it with macaroni salad and that was as good as the curry! The only thing that I was slightly sad about was the amount of rice they gave me, but hey, the curry was the focal point of my meal! I would definitely recommend this place to everyone because it's really quick and also delicious! Next time, I'll have to try the smoothies because they look really good too!

We got there at 8:45 and just 10 minutes after 9 they started flipping the chairs around us and one of their guys started wiping the floor while we were still eating. The odor from the cleaning solution was so strong we could not eat there anymore. Who does this ? I complained to the guy that they should at least wait till we leave. Don't think they really cared. Not going back again.

My girlfriend and I love this place it's just right down the road from my house and it's clean inside. I always get the chicken katsu which is crispy every single time and I personally like the macaroni salad. My girlfriend gets the bbq chicken and loves it. I haven't tried the rest but I definitely will be soon! Highly recommend the place. Nice people and good food.

Good place, tasty food. I got the mini chicken katsu for take out, and I think the quality of the meat and the cooking was actually better than most sit down places in the area. Seating is available, although decor is more like a fast food place, so keep the expectations in line with that. Fast service, good portions, really friendly people, I can see myself stopping by here to pick up a meal regularly as a quick, casual, affordable option.

Read some yelp reviews and wanted to try it for myself. The food is good. Not fantastic. The teriyaki sauce had a bit too much soy sauce. I got Chicken Katsu, tender chicken but the breading wasn't that crispy. Husband got the Combo, he thought the meat was a bit tough. We both agreed that the Malasadas was very good though. :) Good portion of food for the price.

Keeping it simple, the food sucks here. I'm at a loss of how this establishment can claim to serve Hawaiian BBQ. We went twice and both times it was consistently bad. The chicken katsu was served undercooked, the chicken was pink inside. Had them redo it and the same result, finally got it cooked on the third attempt. The Chicken and Teri beef in the BBQ mixed place was flavorless and clearly not marinated. We also ordered saimin ... you don't traditionally put broccoli and other vegetables in saimin... It was more like a Chinese noodle soup than saimin... I am originally from Hawaii so perhaps my standard are a bit higher when an establishment claims to serve Hawaiian BBQ.

I noticed this restaurant when I was looking for the new Jersey Mike's, so I came back the next day to try it. The food is fresh, tasty, and plentiful. One certainly gets value for their money at this restaurant! The serving sizes are huge, especially for the price paid. I ordered the chicken barbecue beef combo plate. The amount of each meat was what I would've expected on a plate lunch of that size with just one meat, definitely enough for two meals. I like that the sauces (two different kinds) are on the side and up to the customer, rather than the kitchen. The macaroni salad was good. This is always a test for me of a Hawaiian barbecue place. I don't like theirs as well as I like Kilohana Grill, but this restaurant IS closer to my home. Just a note about the staff. The young man who served me was friendly, helpful, and outgoing. For a new place, this is always a good sign. Kudos to management for their hiring and training.

This place is soooo good! I am so happy there is finally a Hawaiian grill near Livermore where I live! The chicken Katsura is yummy, I've also had the bbq chicken, yum! The potstickers are good and the crab Ramon's are surprisingly delicious!! I hope this place will be around for a long time! Yummy!!

Was I at the right place?!! After reading the great reviews I decided to try it and it was HORRIBLE!!!! The food was bland and tasteless. I love Hawaiian BBQ but this place sucks!

This place is a great quick eats fast casual place. The service is fast and friendly, and the restaurant is impeccably clean. Our family of four ordered the family meal that comes with 3 entree meats, rice, and macaroni salad. Definitely the white fish and chicken katsu. We left with probably another meal to go. The food came out hot and fresh. My husband ordered one of the tropical smoothies. He said it could be blended better and was slightly tart. Aside from the smoothie, everything was just as I expected or better and we will come back again to try out their other menu options.

We are a huge fan of this place. We haven't dined in but this is our go to place for take-out on my way home. I truly believe this is the better of the Hawaiian food places. They are quick and very generous with their portions. I love their options and the prices are pretty fair.

Overall OK. The workers seemed confused and not very fluent in English. We maybe had someone training. The chicken Katsu was decent and the teriyaki chicken was good. The lumpia was disappointing.

My wife and I were very excited to have a hawaiian bbq place near our home. We have tried it twice and will not be going back. The two highlights were the fries and mac salad. Otherwise the meat we got (bbq and katsu chicken) was odd. It reminded us of the type of meat that mcdonalds used to put in their nuggets. Half of it was so fatty and of weird texture we didnt finish it.

Not very impressed. Got the BBQ mix. Short ribs were chewy and full of fat. The BBQ chicken was nothing special and the BBQ beef was probably the worst I've ever had. It wasn't bad but not nearly as good as L&L or Kilohana. They girl at the front was nice, that's why the get two stars but the food lacked flavor and they refused to make a combo plate of beef and chicken. I will be sticking with L&L from now on, and if you like flavor... You should too.

It's okay. I like that it is close by to my home, but don't like the cost, portion size, and flavor as much as I do when compared with L&L in Pleasanton. If you aren't a fan of teriyaki sauce this place doesn't overkill it. I love the sauce so I prefer L&L.

My boyfriend and I really love this place and have eaten there at least 3-4x. One night, we were tired and decided to pick up some take out. Unfortunately, my boyfriend didn't notice that they had only given him one order instead of two until he got back home. I called them and let them know what happened. They offered to credit us, but considering I had no dinner to eat and the inconvenience of driving from San Ramon to Dublin (again), I asked them to deliver the missing dinner. Surprisingly, the manager agreed and they delivered our second order to us within than 20 minutes. It's amazing that there's still good people that want to offer good food/service and make things right. Hawaiian Grill, you have two very loyal customers!!

I'm addicted to their Curry Chicken. Get it every time I come in and have yet to be disappointed. They have low prices, good portion sizes and fast service. I come to this place multiple times a week. Highly recommend.

This place is located in the new Fallon Shopping Center. Can I just say ----- I literally drool and cry inside when I make my way there. We've tried the shakes, spam musubi, loco moco, garlic shrimp, saimens and bbq plate and every time we are so over the moon we do that happy-food-dance move. The meat, veggies, rice and mac salad are fresh and it feels just for a moment you are in the north shore enjoying a plate before heading to the beach to tan. ONO! People can hate all they want but I give my aloha to them for coming to the Tri-Valley.

The food is DELICIOUS!!!!! I could eat there everyday. The Hawaiian bbq chicken is my favorite and adding some of the teriyaki sauce to the rice is sublime!

Giving this place a 4 because it doesn't beat my family's cooking! Still really good food and the customer service is stellar. I ordered the chicken teriyaki bowl, spam musubi, and lumpia just so I could try a little bit of everything. I will definitely come back again and try more.

Nice food, good portions, all made to order. Make sure you order the "low carb" if you want the brown rice and to skip the macaroni salade (menu on the wall is confusing - we didn't know there was a difference, and because the low carb is the most obvious thought that was what they were making, but had to send it back when they made the 'standard' and we did not want the macaroni salad)

I ordered the family meal. The katsu sauce was slightly bland, and the katsu chicken was a little bland but fried well and crisp. The BBQ chicken was also just ok. The kalua pork was just OK. It came with rice, veggies and Mac salad. We don't eat Mac salad, so we substituted for more rice. Lack of two stars for not carrying my favorite flavor of Hawaiian sun fruit drink and blandness of the three meat items we ordered. Simple flavors, simple price, large portions.

Typical Hawaiian Drive Inn and L&L food nothing special but they are really nice hence the 3 stars, it will be a good place to just go and grab a quick bite.

Huge portions. Either share or get the mini plate. Ordered chicken katsu for the kids. It was good. Husband got loco moco and he was happy. I ordered short ribs and it was ok. If you want Hawaiian this will satisfy your appetite. If you want to be wowed - this place is just ok. It is clean and everyone that works here is attentive and work hard.

Went here yesterday for the first time. Service was friendly and fairly quick. I ordered the seafood noodles and husband ordered the BBQ beef. The noodles were a large portion but I thought the broth was pretty bland. There was a lot of fish in it and I am a big fish lover, but found it pretty unappetizing in this soup and ended up just eating everything in the soup except the fish. I wouldn't order it again. The BBQ beef was was just okay. Nothing to write home about.

When i went there it was the best hawaiian food i've had since my trip to Hawaii about a year ago. loved it!!! The BBQ chicken was so tender and juicy it melts in your mouth, the macaroni salad was to die for! My new favorite place to eat...highly recommended!! :)

The location is clean and the staff courteous. The food was fair I'd say but a bit too salty for my taste - I would rate a 6.5 on a 10-point scale. Cost was what you would expect and the wait time was in the 10-minute range.

Husband had the salmon teriyaki low carb plate and I had the teriyaki chicken bowl with brown rice. Also had some Hawaiian smoothies which were very cool and refreshing on a hot day. Will definitely come here again. Good clean restaurant too.

Place is pretty much like L&L. Decent price for Hawaiian fast food. Needs more Hawaiian decoration inside. Tried the mini katsu meal. The katsu portion is a little smaller than L&Ls mini plate, but tastes as good as L&L. The malasadas ain't bad either. Wife had the lau lau and Kalua pork. The lau lau was ok but not much meat inside, and the Kalua pork was ok too. The macaroni salad is good too. I would come back here since it's close to where we live.

Terrible. Tried for fist time. The meat was bad. Rubbery. Fatty. My family and I could only eat like 30% of it. Macaroni was ok. Go to the round table pizza next door

BBQ chicken is ok. Chicken Katsu is way over done and too dry. Burger patty is chewy. Unless you are really craving for Hawaiian food, go somewhere else.

Very friendly staff. Food was really good and came out hot and fast. I got the BBQ chicken mini plate and it was plenty of food for one person. The chicken was moist and delicious with that little bit of char. The smoothies were excellent and they have specialty ones that aren't listed on their main menu. Overall really good experience. I will definitely come back to try out their Lau Lau and Kahlua pork.
