Didn't have high expectations for this place. The food was really good. The service was slow and not overly friendly. The hostess just asked how many and then pointed to the table in the back. We seated ourselves. The waiter was ok, but was not very attentive. At least the food was good

Cant really say how food is bc we never made it to a table....stood at front door for 15min and were ignored.....we finally left after looking around at the customers who looked as irritated as we were. Left and went to Rods steakhouse in the lil main town instead.

Where do I start, terrible costumer service , ordered spinach/artichoke dip and it was hot in the top refrigerator tempature under. Very dissatisfied with the medium well steak when I cut into it is completely pink , seriously ....... I don't mind paying $$$$ for a good steak Not worth the money

I had zero expectations of this neon light clad wing of my cheap motel after a 17 hour road trip. The facts were that me and my two traveling companions were exhausted and ready to eat anything. The decor was laughable and the dining almost entirely empty but that didn't stop us. We sat down to a couple rounds of respectable local beers and I settled up to a brown sugar and ancho pepper rubbed t-bone cooked to perfection and abundant in well balanced deliciousness! In direct contrast to another review on this site my veg was actually fresh. I'm talking about a medley of zucchini, squash and cauliflower that never new the sharp touch of a freezer people!! The chili and the rice were also well above my expectation and in all honesty I am typically a pain in the ass.

Very disappointed in this place. For being a steakhouse, they don't know how to prepare a good one. My filet was black and smoky on the outside, rare inside. My daughter's prime rib dip sandwich also had a very smoky taste. The only positive is that the manager agreed to take the steak off the bill.

Terrible service. Because I was eating alone, they would not let me use a table. The place was only 1/3 full at 7 pm. The manager said he wants to fill the place with 110 people.

Here's the thing. When you go out to eat you expect to focus on the menu and then on the food, right? At Doc Holliday's the first impression is of the place itself. Burned out light in the ceiling fan, open door to kitchen with garbage can in full view, the smell of stale grease. Then a fly landed on the windowsill, but I quickly sent it to its grave with a swat of my dinner napkin. Done. Forgot what I had to eat. Oh, well.

I've read the reviews here for this place, and went as part of a group of 8 people anyway. 1. So, to start, yes correct waiting to get seated on an 87% empty restaurant, 10 min wait. 2. Yes to uninformed or unknowledgeable wait staff. Easily sidetracked and had to be told numerous times for requested items, water especially! A couple things never made it after several requests. 3. Yes to messed up orders. Yes to being out of several items on an early Saturday evening meal. 4. Bartender, well, definitely not a REAL bartender. Didn't know how to make a margarita! However the Bacon Bloody Mary was awesome. 5. Waitress, if this is the only job she has and relies on tips, she's screwed! 6. Timing of food, after a considerable wait from order placed to food coming out, part of our group were served and part waiting a bit to long for the easy stuff, shrimp cocktails and soup. 7. Food, this is a whole separate issue, why the four star rating. OMG, the steaks were awesome, 6 out of the 8 had the steaks! The squash veg medley tops. Salad and soups fantastic. Baked Potato, perfectly baked, fresh baked and no warmed up taste at all! Pilaf to die for. The unseasoned steaks were great flavored, can't stand a seasoned steak where you can't taste the natural flavor. 8. Cleanliness, very clean! 9. Hostess, not knowledgeable, I don't know or I don't think so were her lines. 10. Upon leaving, handicapped and using a mobility scooter, raining tried to buy an umbrella, couldn't buy one, he gave me one! Appreciated immensely, you young man are a kind caring individual!

Zero stars would be better. This places sucks the big one. If you're looking for a good steakhouse in Williams, this ain't it. I should have known the place was horrible when I asked the server what he recommends and his list included the trout. Are you serious? I've eaten MRE's that were better.

The restaurant was not full and service was very slow. We ordered the prime rib and on a Tuesday night, they were out at 7. Dinner was ok, but service was just very slow for an empty restaurant.

Went here because We were starving and I just needed a huge porterhouse steak. It was ordered rare and with a baked potato and vegetable. Okay, it was $46 and when it arrived it was way too thin. The potato was undercooked, so maybe they thought I wanted the potato rare. The steak was overcooked, the vegetable was a canned mix. My wife ordered a steak and added the crab legs. My daughter and son in-law ordered the prime rib. When it arrived it was cold. We all had ordered wine, which never arrived. After we left, I was thinking that we should have just went through the drive-though at McDonalds.

We came here twice, not my choice. Once for dinner, which was steak with a baked potato and canned veggies. Once for lunch of country fried steak. During dinner, they had live music, which was the highlight of my experience there. Otherwise the food was pass. The salad was sad, more white than green.

Worst service I have ever experienced!! The minute I walked in the waitresses looked at me and my friend like we were interrupting their hangout session during working hours. Just to make sure I asked if they were still open the response I received was "yeah, I guess". Which I felt was very unwelcoming. They told us to take a seat at the bar and someone will be right with us. It took about 15 minutes before a waitress approach us and asked what we wanted to drink. One thing that upset me was the whole time we were waiting for the bartender not one of the waitress bothered to assist us or try and call the bartender, they just sat at the table and chatted with each other. As we waited for our drinks the table of waitresses made comments I felt were directed at us since we were the only other people in the whole bar. I over heard one waitress state to another " well there goes our night." As we drank our beer I asked what time the bar closed the waitress told us 9:30pm although I saw a sign in the hotel lobby say 10pm, that was enough for me to get the hint that we were not welcomed so after one beer we left at 9:20pm. The waiteress made us feel like a complete inconvenience to thier night. I would never reccomend this bar/ restaurant to anyone!!

I was kind of skeptical walking in because there weren't much people dining here for dinner. We ordered the Prime rib special posted in the Ramada hotel lobby which is served daily. I like my steaks well done while the hubby likes it medium rare. You have your choice of starch and it comes with garden vegetables and a soup or salad. I chose to have the Lentil beef soup. It is chilly so I opted for the soup and it hit the spot; well flavored with a little kick and big pieces of beef. The vegetables with the entree were cooked just right, not over done and the prime rib was done right and flavorful as well. I would come here again and would recommend it. Service was great. Early bird is from 4-6pm. We got here around 6pm on a Saturday before our Polar Express departure.

We love to visit Williams and we usually stay at the ramada where this restaurant is located because the beds are comfy and they are pet friendly. We have been to doc's several times over the years and have had good to great meals. However, we will not be going here again based on our experience from last weekend. Wait staff was nice but the steaks appeared to be of the frozen variety and the mashed potatoes were from a box (not kidding). My steak was smothered in brown gravy - either from a can or a mix - and it was not all what I expected. Over $70 for two (including tip ) with no cocktails or desserts. Yikes!

The food was good and the service was good. Prices are reasonable. I would definitely recommend it.

Stopped by here on the way back to SoCal during an AZ road trip. Contrary to the other reviews here, the service was very good, the staff here were very friendly, service was quick and the food was good (and a lot of it!). We ordered the rib combo and it was extremely satisfying. Will definitely recommend this place to anyone in the Williams area.

We were pleasantly surprised by their tasty Thanksgiving Day meal. Buffet style on the holiday with juicy turkey, roast beef and ham with all the fixings meant no wait for our meals after a long day of hiking in the canyon. We had a large party which they were able to accommodate. Our server was friendly and attentive. Can't really say what the regular menu is like but not bad for our first time having Thanksgiving at a restaurant.

It was just so, so. We were a little disappointed. We went at about 6:30 pm. The atmosphere was dull because there were very few people there. It is somewhat the off-season for this area though. It's attached to the Ramada Inn, right off the fwy. We thought it would be more situated in historic downtown. Two of us got the Bourbon, Mushroom, Skillet Steak. We ordered them medium rare, but they came out a little tough. They were drowned in brown gravy that was a bit salty. However, the Steak & Potato Soup was DELICIOUS! Hats off to the cook who made that soup. Also, the steamed veggies they serve are fresh, not frozen. But, both of ours were cold by the time they got to the table. I wish I would have just gotten a big bowl of that soup for dinner. I'm serious, it was good! Also, our waiter was very nice & attentive. One plus is they serve locally crafted beer & wine. I had a local red wine (Red Traveller?? Something like that) that was pretty darn good.

I'm gonna give Doc Hollidays 3 firm stars. The hotel attached is now the Ramada. I came here a few years years ago with my children. We all remembered the live music, it was good. When you go here you have to remember it is what it is. An average restaurant stuck on the outskirts of a tourist trap. I'm not putting Williams down at all, we LOVE Williams!!!! I just took my daughter here tonight for dinner because she remembered going here several years back. It is exactly the same as it was then. It needs updating for sure. The food was the same as it was as well. I had the prime rib, my server brought me the rarest piece she could which was a nice medium :) my veggies were not canned but steamed broccoli and cauliflower they were ok.... My daughter had the sirloin and really enjoyed it. Oh and FYI a prime rib should have a salted crust. Mine was not overly salty. The salad too was average. Just what I would expect. It is not a 4 or 5 star dining town by any means. I do think their prices are a tad high for what they are serving and the 15% off coupon I got from my hotel should have been applied to the prime rib special which was advertised on the flyer as $9.95 but she told me it was old and now it's $12.99. That's a big no no, in most states you have to give the advertised price if there is no expiration date. As a restaurant owner it is YOUR responsibility to take care of those issues, it shouldn't be the customers. So overall it is what it is.... Average food in a tourist trap. Oh and the BBQ BEANS are NOT BBQ beans!!! There is no smoke or BBQ flavor in them at all. They are chili beans but tasty.

I was referred by the marshal on the Grand Canyon Railway to come here for dinner when I had asked for recommendations. I ordered the filet mignon, it was cooked perfectly and was delicious. My friend ordered the combo platter with ribs, and chicken, the meat was falling off the bones, he said it was excellent. The decor was a little plain but I was there for the food, so it didn't bother me. The waiter we had was Paul he was very sweet and checked on us frequently. I would go to Doc's again if I'm in the area.

I hiked the entire Grand Canyon in one day -- down to the bottom and back up, a 17 mile hike with over 4,000 feet elevation gain, burning somewhere around 50,000 calories. When I finished, I was STARVING and wanted a steak! Unfortunately, I was so tired by the time I drove back to Williams, I didn't feel like leaving my hotel...the ultra-glamorous Holiday Inn, which happened to have an on-premise steakhouse. I was also unfortunately too tired to check Yelp! reviews before going there. Still, I was so hungry I didn't give a shit. I ordered a filet, but they were out of filet (among a few other menu items that night) so I had to go with a strip steak (decent) with grilled shrimp (meh), with a wizened, tough little baked potato on the side. I also had the salad bar, which was pretty sad (iceberg, mini corn on the cob, croutons, canned vegetable soup) but serviceable. The service was fine, the place was clean enough, and the food was about the quality you'd expect from one of the Vegas hotel employee dining rooms. Verdict: disappointing. The one time in my life when calories weren't a consideration, and I wasted it on THIS? The food quality was so lame, I didn't even bother ordering dessert (and I'm a HUGE dessert junkie)...I opted instead for a dried-out Hostess cupcake from the hotel vending machine! At $0.75, it was a better value than anything on the dessert menu...and about the same quality!

It's a breakfast buffet, and I know what you are thinking .... its a buffet, so how bad can it be? It's like pizza and ...... well, lets keep it G rated. Anyway, I have to poke fun because this place is HORRIBLE. Breakfast sucked, service sucked and bathrooms sucked even worse. I will spare you the details as it seems I am having bad bathroom luck with the places I have Yelped lately. This is the steakhouse located in the Holiday Inn Hotel in Williams (which is old school and ghetto) and we had to eat there because we stayed here (ok, we didn't HAVE to, but it was the easiest option) AND we had to stay at this Hotel because all others were booked (Polar Express thing). SO, you have been warned. Eat at your own risk here! ****OH and an update.... how could I have forgotten to mention this? If you are underage (for smoking) guess what kids? they got a vending machine of cigarettes .... AND NO ONE MONITORS IT .... geeze ....

A restaurant attached to a hotel, I'm not expecting a Gordon Ramsay 5 star restaurant. What we received during our two visits to the restaurant was very good prime rib, fillet mignon, and my sons loved the burgers. Breakfast buffet was serviceable, and filled us all up. The service was fine and attentive. My only real complaint is that they had run out of prime rib the second night we went there. I would definitely go again.

Doc Holliday's at the Holiday Inn was just so so. We dined there because it was recommended by the hotel front desk -- maybe they get a commission. We ordered their specialty -- prime rib -- only to be told they had run out THE DAY BEFORE! What steakhouse who claims to specialize in prime rib runs out at 6:30 PM on a Saturday evening.... and in a town full of tourists arriving on Sunday to take the train to the Grand Canyon the next day. The food we were able to order was not bad... but nothing to write home about. The salad bar was fresh even though it consisted of fewer vegetable options than salad dressings. Save a few bucks and spend your dining dollar at Pancho McGillicuddy's on the corner of North Grand Canyon Blvd. and Historic Route 66. Better food, friendlier staff and a lot more fun.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE this steakhouse! My boyfriend and i love to take qiuck trips outside the city and just relax, eat and drink. So we stopped into Doc Hollidays we sat at the bar ordered drinks and had great conversation with the bartender Jeff ( he's very funny). We played pool in the bar then later ordered dinner, I had the prime rib with a side of crab legs, garlic mashed potatoes and green beans ALL of it was sooo good and i LOVED the horseraddish sauce and au jus that came with the steak! Everyone was very nice, the place was very clean and it just had that old cozey feel to it! The prices were amazing for all that we ordered and we had the opportunity to meet the owner who was so great and seemed genuinely concerned of how we liked everything, cant wait to go back again! Thanks guys!

Went here tonight craving a good prime rib, the front desk at our hotel recommended it and also offered us a discount. When we arrived (at ten til 7pm) the place was almost dead. Two of us got the prime rib dinner special. The salad bar was decent and the steak was just ok. Nothing close to the prime rib we have in Tucson but it did the job. As for the sides, some sad looking green beans with a weird lemon spice on them and garlic mashed potatoes that just didn't impress. Oh and as for that discount, it didn't apply to our 'dinner specials' so oh well.

I probably wouldn't have chosen this place had it not been below 30 degrees outside and attached to the hotel (no need to go outside and freeze!). Plus since it's part of the Holiday Inn and we were staying there we got a 20% off coupon and two free drink tokens. I had the trout in a lemon herb sauce. My dinner date had the aged top sirloin. Both were good, but really I could have just had the garlic mash and asparagus. The garlic mash was amazing.

So like many other poor folks here, my husband and I took our son to The Polar Express and stayed at a hotel that recommended this steak house with a discount to boot! Cool, right?! No Way!! I don't know why I didn't check yelp until after we left! My bad, completely. So my husband order a burger, the burger itself was cooked and well seasoned, the PACKETS of condiments were warm, mayonnaise being one of them(YUCK!), so he opted just to use ketchup and mustard. The dressings for the burger, ie; lettuce tomato, red onion, were chunks of ice berg lettuce(how do you lay that on your burger!?), over ripe tomatoes, and wilted onion. :-/ My son got the kids pizza and French fries. The pizza was one of those you take out of plastic at home and microwave. Someone put it perfect when they said it looked like an English muffin with spaghetti sauce and cheese on it. Though I think that sounds pretty good after looking at that thing. My son didn't even eat it, my husband choked it down only cause he was hungry. The fries that both my son and husband got were frozen ones from a bag. Who does that anymore!?!? Ok, on to my STEAK dinner.... I ordered my steak medium, assuming it would come with a pink strip in the middle and mostly a pretty grey brown. I cut into it and it was as if I just stabbed the cow! I tried to just eat "around" the outside areas that were a little cooked, but my husband was all but gagging watching me try to eat this. It was so bloody my mashed potatoes all the sudden were red. Half my plate was floating in blood. My husband finally decided to say something to the waitress, and thankfully she was very nice and said, that's definitely not cooked, and took it back quickly. It came back, and let's just say I are most of it, not ALL. The mashed potatoes I actually enjoyed, God help me if they were old. And the "vegetable medley" was squash and zucchini and cauliflower, they were fine. The kitchen door was open the whole time and I could see the "cooks" laughing about something. My first thought should of been where is everybody? Only 3 cars in the parking lot. My husband thought it was closed. Other then the very nice waitress we, fortunately, got, this place was sad! I would call Robert Irvine for sure! Guarantee they only make money because people get that discount paper from there hotels and go there. This is NOT a STEAK HOUSE. Do Not waste $20+ dollars on a dinner here!

This was pretty much what we expected in terms of menu and prices. Service was very pleasant and this restaurant is VERY food allergy friendly. Food was generally good, including the ancho-rubbed T-Bone special, but no one at the table like the baked beans. However this was an decent place and we would go back.

Great dinner and good place for kids. Teri was super nice and helpful. Loved the prime rib and the NY steak was good too. Big portions. Nice to be in a place that isn't too touristy and it was recommended by the guy at Safeway.

Burger was overcooked and dry, fries were obviously out of a freezer bag and poorly cooked. Other meals, the bbq sauce on the ribs was skimpy and the kid's pizza was sauce on an english muffin. It filled us but that's about it.

I came to eat at this steakhouse four times (two times for breakfast and two times for dinner). If it wasn't in my tour's schedule, I probably would have walked out after my first bite... Our tour guides were emphasizing on having steak because we "love" meat. Well, I was expecting good steak because it says "Steak House" right at the entrance. WRONG. The steak was served with a baked potato and some canned corn, carrot, and peas. The steak was cooked medium rare but it was tough and dry. Medium rare steak should be buttery and moist... I believe they do not know what cut of meat to use! I had to smother it in the salty steak sauce, gross! Also, their salad bar had vegetables that did not look fresh and their chicken soup tasted like a bowl of salt water. Next morning we came here for breakfast and it was horrible. The food was like.. lukewarm? Oatmeal is ughh. Orange (which seems like the only fruit they have). Butter biscuit is REALLY DRY and the sausage gravy doesn't help at all. French toast is tough to chew and it tastes stale. Danish are tough too, but it was the best item they had (and they probably bought it from somewhere else). Sausage is too oily and salty for my taste. Bacon wasn't crispy (I'm fine with that) but it tastes like I'm eating a lump of SALT! The same day, we came back for dinner. The menu was BBQ Chicken. It was very unappealing to my eyes. It's half a chicken slabbed onto a plate and then smothered with sauce! Just like the steak from the previous night, it was served with a baked potato and some canned corn, carrot, and peas. I barely got a bite of the chicken and it was dry as can be! It looks like I didn't even touch it at all. Luckily, I had the potato to eat but they had no butter available at the table or the salad bar. Oh and the vegetable soup was pretty good... better than the cheesey soup? TOO salty. Breakfast next day was the same menu. Instead of having a repeat of the lukewarm stale breakfast, I got the small boxes of cereal (Fruit loops) and small yogurt cup (Activia I think?). Maybe it's just me, but I would never come back. Some people from my tour group loved the steak. Maybe they got a better cut of meat? Whatever it is, I'm a foody and I can not stand oversalted and overcooked food. It stands for bad service and no care for customers!

Yea, I go to a steakhouse for breakfast not a steak? -The other reviews are funny because none of them ordered steaks...At a steakhouse;) -The staff was great and some was dressed up like cowboys, super service -The steaks are divine in fact, the best I've had anywhere in the US -The sides were norm, not great -The cleanliness was pretty good not the best -The mural on the back wall was great -Prices were average for a steakhouse -If you go here (to a steakhouse) get a steak you'll love it

My husband, son and I went to Doc's for dinner on July 27th. Not so good. I ordered a shrimp dish with a side salad . Mine was okay. My son had a grilled cheese sandwich. His was okay. My husband ordered prime rib with a side salad. It took almost 15 minutes for the waiter to bring the salad, and when he did he brought the meal as well. The prime rib was well done. When my husband sent the prime rib back they said the they were out of it. So he ordered a steak. This I a restaurant that specializes in prime rib. The service was terrible. I will never go back there.

ate there tonight with wife and 2 kids (5 & 6). Went there mostly because of the mediocre food at Max & Thelma (aka restaurant at the Grand Canyon Railroad Hotel, see my review there). Doc Holiday is in the Holiday Inn right off of Grand Canyon Blvd (or Ave) exit off of I-40. Food: We ordered prime rib (medium rare) and full slab of BBQ baby back ribs. Comes with salade or soup, and potato and side veg. Meat was ok, tasty for a town this size), aspargus was murdered byt he cooks (yes, I won't call those behind the kitchen chefs). French fries and garlic mashed potato were decent. Not much of a dessert to offer; kids had rainbow sherbert. Service: Decent. Although i find most of the food service workers in this twon to be 50 year old mothers/grandmothers whose attitude is not much to be desired. Overall I'd say this place is edible. I know that's not much of a re4commendation but in a way it is because of how much I disliked Max and Thelma.
