Greta location! Horrible service! Such a disappointment!

Yes, this place does cater to tourists but the food was so good that now I have to eat here everytime I go to Flagstaff. I'm a sucker for the BBQ ribs. If you don't want to be messy, don't order the ribs, ha ha, but they are worth the mess. I suggest sitting outside on the patio and enjoying the live music and their great micro brews! Some of the staff are not so friendly but our waiter was great.

This place is so cute! A little touristy, with the Cars Land style of decorations, but it adds to the kitchy charm of the restaurant. Putting a giant smoker outside the restaurant is a very smart advertisingove, and was enough to get the hubby and I to stop here for dinner. The menu is a mix betwen what you would consider Route 66 comfort food and country BBQ, and it seems like they excell at both! We ordered the beef BBQ ribs and the brisket plate, and devoured both! They describe the beef ribs as being Fred Flinstone sized, and that is totally true! I normally have a hard time filling up my husband when we go out to eat, and he couldn't finish his plate it was so big! The meat was juicy, seasoned very well and had the perfect amount of char and smoke flavor that I look for in good BBQ. I had the beef brisket, because I truly feel like you can judge the quality of a BBQ restaurant by how they treat their brisket. To be totally ho est, this was probably the second best brisket I've had in my life!! The meat was marbled perfectly without the huge ribbons of far that I've seen in lesser quality cuts of meat. The meat was so tender I didn't even need a knife to cut it, and the sauce it was covered in was the perfect amount of spice and tang to complement the meat. We both will definitely be dreaming about this meal for a while....

The best part of this place is the outdoor seating and live entertainment! We had the privilege of seeing Nick Ty Coon! He is going to be somebody for sure! The food is not impressive messed my order up twice and when they got it right they brought me a cold steak and cold fries. My salad had the wrong dressing as well and I was frustrated so I did not even bother with it. I decided the best part was the beer and the entertainment! I'd go back just for the beer and music!

Spending the day in Williams as we were waiting for our train's departure to Los Angeles we wound up walking past this place several times. It's kind of touristy, but also kind of authentic. It reminds me of Johnny Rockets, but more original with a side of authentic tex-mex BBQ (complete with the trailer grill right on the property). An old school car on top of the outdoor eating section ties it all together with signature red accents. What brought us in was the gentleman they had playing live music for lunch. A man and his guitar - and what beautiful music he produced. He was so authentic - believing, feeling, and emoting through his music. I swear it called out to us. My wife and I wound up having the buffalo wings, onion rings, curly fries and a cookies and cream malt milkshake. they were all delicious. SIDE NOTE: I ordered the curly fries with cheese and they didn't originally come with it. I asked for cheese on the side and was glad I did - that cheese is nothing to write home about. Personally, I'd avoid the cheese sauce if possible. The wings were juicy and saucy, the onion rings crispy on the outside and tender on the inside; the curly fries were meaty (if that's a word - they weren't cooked all the way through like some other places where you only taste grease and crisp with no potato) and cooked just right). That malt/mlikshake though. On point. The truth. Gives life. Choose your statement of satisfaction. Bonus was they also gave us the cup used to make the milkshake. The service was pretty good too. Attentive and relatively swift and friendly. FYI - this place is also attached to a gift shop and a brewery. Had an amazing time here. Four stars for the cheese fries situation. Solid option for our return.

Meh. Food was decent. Had a blue cheese burger with sweet potato fries. Fries were great, burger was edible. Prices are high, but it's a tourist trap town.

Smells great due to a wood fire pit. Good marketing. In the heart of tourist Williams. Food was good. Service ok. Nice BBQ.

Tourist town, tourist atmosphere, good service, sweet waitress. In speaking with her this place caters to three tour buses per week (European travelers). Good thing I didn't yelp this place before we came or I wouldn't have stopped. Our experience was a 10! The bbq out of this world and the live music at lunch was great. We love it here and will return. Cranberry walnut salad they knocked Out of the park. So happy we stopped. Dalia..... I crown you waitress of the week.

This is located on historic Route 66. It's classic American food - burgers, etc. We were staying nearby for a visit to the Grand Canyon and stumbled across this place by accident. It's got the retro hot rod feel, with classic neon decor. A large sized patio with heaters. They had live music with some crowd participation, making for a fun atmosphere. The food was very good and inexpensive for a tourist based area. The service was great. They undercooked my girlfriend's burger, but had no problems with us asking for it to be reheated. But instead, they made her an entirely new burger. Great little piece of Americana!

Food was good, great atmosphere. We stopped in on our trip back to Vegas from the Grand Canyon. Neat little place. Good looked and tasted great. They even brew their own beer. I had a stout. Really enjoyed this place.

My first review is for the store next or attached to the restaurant.. This place is clean and has a lot of things to offer but talk about over priced! I bought my shot glasses, well because I buy a shot glass for my brother and I everywhere I go... The guy who was running the cashier was such a rude fuck! Never greeted us and never asked us if we needed help. When I went up to pay he never looked up to make eye contact. He rang me up and I asked him if he had tissue paper for the shot glasses. Never answered me. Then he takes my card, doesn't tell me how much it is. I ask again does he have any tissue paper for the shot glasses. This fuck still never responds. Yet he hands me the pen and my receipt to sign it and grabs paper towels and wraps my shot glasses shitty. Next review is for the actual restaurant........... We arrived around 9am on 6/21/2015. Visiting from Phoenix for cooler weather and Father's Day. We arrived and were greeted by a sweet young girl who seated us outside. She pre warned us that she, at that time was the only one working besides the cook. So at least we were prepared for slow service. Honestly she kept up pretty well. We ordered coffee and waters. I had the french toast breakfast ( don't let the menu lie to you, it doesn't come with strawberries) Hubby ordered biscuits and gravy. No complaints, it was good. Nothing to write home about but a decent breakfast for a decent price.

After our horrible experience at Rod's "steakhouse", we were almost turned off by the food in Williams. A couple of us wanted a snack and a warm place to rest, so we entered Cruiser's. Right away we could see that the food on the tables not only looked edible, but quite delicious. Our waitress, Brie (like the cheese), was on top of it. She must've had 8 or 9 tables, and still had a smile and was quick. She was so fast, I'm pretty sure she brought our orders out before we ordered them. Friendly, fast service and the food was excellent. Williams' eating experience has been saved.

Our family was in town for the Polar Express so we stopped here for lunch. The place looks fine, it's a total Route 66 tourist diner. The menu selection was good, with plenty of burger and meat options. The jalapeño jelly burger tasted good. The problem with the place, as others have shared, is the horrible service. Our party of 10 was seated immediately at 1pm. A waitress told us that our waitress was on her way in (not a good sign). It took another 10 minutes to get ordered, then an hour to get the food. The kids were bouncing off the walls by the time they ate! Some of the dishes were cold, even after the long wait. For two adults and two kids it was $50. I would not return here or recommend it to anyone.

    (2)
  • Kimberly G.

The atmosphere was really disappointing. Was really looking forward to a 50s diner. Not even close. Food was okay mostly, the burger was good. Very overpriced.

    (2)
  • Bobbie P.

Worst Service Ever! Waited an hour for our food and when it finally came the order was wrong. Food wasn't that great either. The atmosphere was cool but that was all that was good about it.

  • Davidson F.

Get a drink and eat somewhere else. The craft brews here are great and the staff is friendly, but the food sucks. I tried the chicken tenders, it was just Tyson chicken strips that tasted they were frozen and just warmed with a bad bbq sauce. My wife had the brisket..really bad. Again were from Texas so maybe we're brisket snobs, but it tasted just liked the pre cooked ones in a bag from Walmart. The roll served with the meal was good and so was the beer, not much more.

  • Derek H.

Value for money this place was great. The service was great, the atmosphere was great, the staff was overly friendly and it's fun. The food was ok but inexpensive. Overall this place is doing it right.

    (4)
  • S J.

We had a great time food was great and atmosphere could not have been better! Live Music on the patio dining. Home brewed beer. Make it a stop when in Williams!

    (5)
  • Matthew C.

Keep cruising past this place and find the brewery up the side street. The restaurant's service turned me off from the start. But in a nutshell, any place that serves the entree before the initially ordered beer will lose 3 stars. One star goes to the actual food, which was edible, and the second star for a nice ambience.

    (2)
  • Jesse S.

DONT BE FOOLED! They have an old looking BBQ out front burning wood to suck you in. Ordered pork ribs. According to the menu, these ribs are smoked for eight hours. I called bullshit on that. Ribs are bland, and no smoke taste or smoke ring on the meat. When I question the staff they said the ribs are smoked, and the smokers are out back. Bullshit again! Went out back myself and didn't see or even smell one smoker. I smoke food all the time and know the difference between oven cooked and smoked food. So, if you want overlooked bland and overpriced food, this is your place. I would love to open a true BBQ restaurant across the street and shut this place down.

  • Darrin L.

I want to go less than 1 star but I can't. Worst use of a $100 bill in my life! Overpriced, appeared to be pre-cooked type of food (e.g., Sam's Club)...we are somewhat foodies and I have no problem spending good money in good food - this was so sub-par it barely qualified as McD's quality. Now the ambiance was cute, the wait staff was good, and the bathrooms had an interesting motif. Don't go here if you are looking for a good meal...keep on walking!

    (1)
  • Kristina J.

As I walked down Route 66, I heard live music and smelled delicious meats coming from a BBQ that was location right outside the restaurant. I immediately wanted to stop here for dinner! The atmosphere was fun, and there were many tourists so we felt right at home! I ordered the brisket sandwich with sweet potato fries. Boy, oh boy that brisket was melt in your mouth good! My sweet potato fries were good, except for the few that were still a little raw. Overall, I'd definitely come back!

Solid choice for American food. Service was outstanding. "Nachos" actually used potato chips but toppings were great. Burgers were very good. I would go again.

    (4)
  • Steve A.

This place has a great vibe but the food doesn't stand up to the test. I ordered the nachos which were simply potato chips covered very thinly with the extras - nothing like pictured. The burger my friend ordered was also just ok. Decent but not worth the prices they ask.

We took the train to and from the Grand Canyon. We got back in time for dinner and we decided to forgo the Depot cafe and try something in town. The guy who worked on the train highly recommended this place as he said they were consistently good. There were 9 of us so to accommodate us they put us inside in a narrow space with a long table. As soon as we got in the space we regretted it. It was hot and no air circulation at all. But because we were a group of 9 we had no choice if we didn't want to split up. 4 adults and 5 kids. I ordered the brisket meal. It came with cole slaw and a small cup of baked beans, and a roll with no butter. The description of the brisket says something like drenched in BBQ sauce or something to that effect to make you think it was dripping in BBQ sauce. The sauce was nothing to brag about. There was about 6 slices and maybe a couple tbs of sauce. After eating the top layer I was out of sauce. They brought me more. The beans tasted like ranch style beans. Cole slaw was not as sweet as say KFC slaw. It had apple dices and walnuts in it. It was different. For the price of that meal $17.95 it was not worth the price to me.

We ate here while we stayed in Williams. Friendly staff, great food, and fun atmosphere. My mom and I loved it!

  • Alison M.

Be sure to check out the bathrooms!!!! The decal is awesome!!! Food was decent but the Route 66 experience made up for it!!! The 50s music and decals, there staff made you feel like you were back during that decade. The micro brewery was attached with grand canyon home brewed beer. The gift shop was an experience, I I spent more time there than eating. Thanks for a great throw back evening

Was a quiet afternoon when we dropped in. Was seated promptly but the chairs were uncomfortable and dangerous. I ordered the works burger wife had the chicken sandwich. After some 25+ minutes our orders arrived. Mine was wrong wife was right. Both had cold fries. After the long wait decided to eat what we got and left. This is a typical tourist spot. Poor food. Service barely adequate. They had some guy playing guitar for tips who couldn't stop talking about how much he needed the money. Sorry no sale! won't return.

Wow I was surprised to see only 2.5 stars. It really wasn't that bad and in fact one of the places on my bucket list for Williams. All these years visiting, I always saw that big grill outside smoking and the country music eating people's ears off and I really wanted to go and try their food. Finally, on our last visit hubby and I made a trip into town and decided to solve the Café 66 mystery. We decided to sit outside to experience the real deal. Music was load (and not the best) and there were mosquitos out; but people watching was fun and we still had a good time. We chose 2 items off of their dinner menu, I believe we got the piglet wings and the brisket. The sides were nonnegotiable according to the menu and were corn on the cob and baked beans. I thought the bbq was decent. Brisket had good flavor and the sauce on top was pretty good. The piglet wings were a little dry but not too bad. If I had to rate the food alone, I would probably give it 3 stars, but I think you don't go there to have the best meal of your life, but to get a little Williams air in your lungs, watch tourists walk by and enjoy the sun set. Therefore, 4 stars and I may even go back again.

My friend ordered the jalapeño poppers with agave nectar I was expecting heavily breaded poppers. They were not to my surprise. They were sweet and hot at the same time. I highly recommend them!

Nice and friendly staff, but high price compared to the quality. The place have a great atmosphere and there was life music outside.

We had already eaten dinner when we passed by Cruiser's, but their sign said "ice cream bar" and we were sold on heading on in! The hostess greeted us and took us to a seat inside since the sun had gone down and it was a bit cooler outside than we would have enjoyed sitting in, and rain was coming in. The inside is made to look vintage and has a ton of old Coca-Cola merchandise scattered about, including napkin / straw holders, metal signs, and even a few old advertisement knick-knacks. Out waitress was Maggie and we let her know that we were really just craving dessert, and not any food. She was more than accommodating, and listing off the various options. Before we went in we had discussed a craving for a sundae, and that wasn't one of the options she listed, so my wife asked if it was possible to get one made. Maggie whipped up a custom made ice cream sundaes for both of us that was just delicious! One scoop of chocolate, one scoop of vanilla in a regular sized glass with caramel and chocolate drizzle and whipped cream to top it all off! Both of us finished our own to the very last bite. We'd go back and see Maggie for sundaes anytime we are in the area!

I have to say, despite already having read the reviews on Yelp, I pulled my family into this place. It is located on Historic Route 66 on the way to the Grand Canyon. It is situated smack in the middle of Williams, among many iconic Route 66 places. The ambience just draws you in with the smoking BBQ outside, 50's music and outdoor seating. We went during Presidents Week and probably only one other table was seated. For orders, we went basic. My son ordered the Ultimate Burger and I ordered the full rack of pork ribs. According to my son, the $18 dollar burger was devoid of taste. According to me, my $24 ribs were reheated because they were cold. So, what the hell was the smoking grill outside being used for? Our sodas were a full 32 ounces which was good. My wife shared my ribs with me so nothing else was ordered. The fries that came with both of our entrees were OK but salty. Anyway, somehow we walked out of there with a bill that had a pre-assessed 18 percent gratuity. Are you kidding me? Am I back home eating in Times Square? Even there, they only dump that kind kind of gratuity on much larger parties. Service was mot bad being there was only 1 other table seated. So, somehow after being out of pocket over $70 for a bad meal, I learned never to go against Yelp reviews. Especially on vacation. The gift shop inside is very expensive.

DON'T ... Way overpriced and terrible service! I can't say I've ever been this disappointed in a whole dining experience! It's a beautiful restaurant, but this business needs Management and Training!! $6.95 for children's mac n cheese--it's Kraft mac n cheese! You know 3 for a $1.00 a box... We couldn't believe it! Don't order your youngster mac n cheese --go to Safeway for Mac n cheese it's better! Don't pay $.99 more for 4 onion rings - not worth it! None of this dining experience was worth it! Our lunch at the El Tovar Hotel in the Grand Canyon was better food, better service, more food and less expensive! I am not one to say much about a bad meal - I just don't return to repeat my mistake ! But it's important to share this disappointment so no one else waste their time or money!! There's too many other choices in Williams, Az --

This place is ridiculous! Traveler's trap! Terrible service & crap food! Ordered Family BBQ Platter for 4. No pork ribs at all. (We came here for pork ribs!!!!!) The waitress gave us beef ribs instead. The price of beef ribs are way cheaper than pork ribs! Beef ribs were dry and chewy! Chicken was tasteless! Rolls were tiny and cold! The waitress charged us 4 drinks ($2.99 each) when we checked the bill. However she told us the drinks were included. That's why we ordered soda! All 4 of us heard what she said, but she was impolite to say that she never said this to customers! This is the first night we are here. Can't believe we have experienced such unhappy and awful dinner time in this beautifully decorated restaurant! This is definitely a traveler's trap!!!!!

Ah the good ole fifties. A time when life was simple and fountain soda was flowing. This niche restaurant brings you back to the times of greased back hair and switchblade combs. The decor was delightful and the staff was polite. Upon looking at the menu, the average burger was a few dollars more than I'm used to paying. But let me tell you it was worth it. The French fries were something special and redefined how a frye should taste. The burger was large and filling. And a side of mashed potatoes put me away for good. This is a meal sure to put one into a food coma.

Wish I could give negative stars. My only tip for you is don't give tips. You will know what I mean if you dare to eat there. Poor services- poor food- one of the worst-- no competitions. Need to be on kitchen nightmare with gordon Ramsay. We ordered family platter but waitress told us after we placed order that pork ribs were sold out. Food came and all tasted dry except the soda (sodas came free with platter.......NOT). Server told us drinks were free when we ordered, but they charged us anyway. She did manage to take away the drinks in the bill but told us in the face they she didn't say drinks were free in a rude way. Please. Don't take unnecessary risks. Please. Stay away from this place.

  • Rebecca S.

Stopped because of the burning wood. In the grill, but nothing was prepared on it. All fare done in the kitchen. Don't get a steak, not very good, and a bit tough, certainly not worth $24. Spouse got chicken fried steak, and said it was good. I will say the burgers looked really good. Best part was the Grand canyon brewery beer.

Overpriced food was bland....Service was blah. This is a tourist trap so beware. Their barbeque grill was situated at the front of the restaurant so you would be enticed to eat here.

Please don't go here, it's just a tourist trap. Brisket was nasty and overpriced. Drinks were flat. Don't let let the atmosphere trick into spending 100$ on samsclub food.

Me and my husband went here after driving from San Diego, we were starving and this place was the only place to eat after 9:30pm. It was really pricey. Our waiter was very nice and smiles so the three stars go mostly to that guy! The food was really basic, I'd never go back. I'm sure there's better places to eat other than this place. I know it's a tourist attraction but they should maybe have more flavor in their food. It just wasn't good and very greasy unfortunately.

I finished business meetings nearby a lot earlier than I planned, so I wanted a quick bite to eat before hurrying out to have a Clark Griswold-style brief visit to the Grand Canyon. I got to Cruiser's about 11:15ish, and had my choice of sitting inside or out. The nice outdoor patio was pretty empty, so I picked inside where it seemed to have more action. The decor is like something out of the animated movie, "Cars." Radiator Springs must have been modeled after Williams. The server seemed to take forever to first swing by for my order, but she was apologetic, friendly, and attentive afterwards. I ordered a diet Coke and the BBQ brisket sandwich. The Coke was huge and the waitress kept it full, but the delight was the smoky, moist, and very tasty brisket sandwich. One of the best I've had. They apparently smoke the meat right outside, which by now was hopping with lots of diners and live music...on a Wednesday at lunch! Next time, I'm sitting outside.

One of the few places open past 9:00. Pleasantly surprised at their good brisket, interesting slaw, and best baked beans I've ever had.

I'm literally still sitting at my table waiting for the check. This place only gets two stars for the atmosphere and retro feel. The food is mediocre at best. Our burgers looked and tasted like premade patties and were cold. The bacon was cold and fatty. The cheese was the kind you unwrap and wasn't melted. I will say the onions rings were tasty as were the fried zucchini.

Food was yummy, service was absolutely friendly! Loved sitting outside enjoying the weather and enjoying the live music. The beer is brought over from the Grand Canyon Brewery right behind the restaurant! Was expensive but sitting out on the patio made the ambience perfect!

Worst food choice of our trip. Don't be fooled by the wood burning BBQ and fun decor. Food was super bland and not satisfying. Had a table by the bar and thought the staff at the bar were unprofessional, overhearing conversation that should be talked about in private/ after work and not in presence of customer's with children. Even seen an employee pour a alcoholic drink in a kids cup and drink it. Seemed like a lot of employees standing around chatting it up. Felt like its a candidate for bar rescue or kitchen nightmare.

Obviously the waitress was annoyed at us after I expressed dissatisfaction about them wanting to charge us $2 extra because I wanted to cut their $13 dollar burger in half, and share it. The $13 dollar burger came with fries, and was dry and tasteless, the fries were bland. The only thing that tasted good was the milkshake, and really it was just vanilla ice cream mixed with milk. The servers were all sitting at a table eating, and we waited over 20 minutes for one burger with fries. Don't be drawn in by the name and the lights....go somewhere else!!

  • Rob B.

Absolutely, the worst dining experience I've ever had. Greeted and seated promptly and courteously. The waitress was friendly. I ordered the brisket plate, the brisket was extremely dry, crumbly and had no flavor. The cole slaw was also flavorless, in fact, the only thing on the plate with any taste at all was the ranch beans, that I'm sure came out of a can. My wife had the Chili spaghetti, I don't know how anyone could make chili so bad! It was hot, very hot, but had no flavor, whatsoever. 6.95 for kids meals that do not include drinks, 2.99 for sodas with way too much carbonated water and not enough syrup. Finally, waited close to 20 minutes for the check. Even though there were only two other tables in use, the waitress was too busy chatting up a local to notice the other table and ours had long finished and were waiting for our checks.

I didn't want to eat here in the first place given the negative reviews already posted, but I was overruled by my boyfriend's mother who wanted to pick a place that night. She thought it looked great, and "it must be good because it's crowded and there are lots of cars parked outside." Unfortunately, yelp was not wrong about this place. We waited for at least 20 min for a table for 4 on a random Monday night after visiting the Grand Canyon. Everyone who came in after us was speaking a different language and had a flier from their hotel telling them to go there. Once seated we again waited at least 10 min for anyone to come take out order and then food took forever to come. The food was extremely un-impressive and over priced. I had the burger, and other people had the brisket, and the steak which were all dry and over cooked. Our meal took over an hour even though we only ordered main courses and came out to over 100$. The bathrooms, while interestingly decorated, lacked doors on the stalls, though the women's room at least had a curtain. The only thing this place seems to be good at is attracting tourists with kitschy decorations and bright neon lights. I know that it's a small town, but it makes me sad to think that all the foreigners eating here will now think that this is what American food is like.

  • Shayna W.

It's very busy here all the time. I stayed in town for a couple days and every single time I would walk or drive by this place is was packed. That must mean it's delicious but I simply thought of everything as just okay. I'm not really a fan of burgers and fries and if I have it it's from a more upscale place. The concept of the place was really cute though, I only wish I got pictures while I was there. Next time my friends and I go were going to be a little bit more touristy and take more pictures and explore way more for sure.

The food was very good but was not served on time, appetizers came only minutes before the main course. Food was prepared well and good quality, the atmosphere was very relaxing and with the live entertainment it was a good time sitting outside. The biggest knock on this place is the service. The staff was friendly but slow, they did not get the food out on time and at in as even lost track of orders. Looks like they are either understaffed for the size of the place or just unorganized. Nice place, good food just be patient with the staff and have extra time of you go.

Excellent service, very attentive and friendly staff. The food came out super fast, which was a plus for us since we've had a long day at the canyon. And the food was good. Excellent beers on tap= added plus.

I ordered the "soup of the day." Meatballs and vegetables. I honestly could have vomited up something that tasted AND looked better than what they brought out. How do you mess up soup?! I thought that was a safe choice. Sigh.

Food was good, prices were not worth it. It was $87 for 4 adults and 1 child. Also...DO NOT ORDER THE KIDS MAC N CHEESE! It was $6.99 for Blue Box Kraft Mac N Cheese and a cup of store bought applesauce. I brought this to the attention of the "Manager" and her answer was Oh all the kids love it. That's not the point, it's crap and I can make it at home for $.49 a box. She did switch it out for chicken strips which was fine. I don't see us going back.

Enjoy the patio and a burger , everything else is not so good , the bbq was dry and covered in sauce and expensive . Great live music and local micro brews but if there's a wait not worth it for price and quality in food .

On a road trip with our family of 6. Stopped for dinner here. Was impressed with their live music and old fashioned feel. Food was good. Williams is an adorable little town!

I was surprised with the low reviews. Came here for lunch along the way to the Grand Canyon. Had delicious wild boar wings (which I had never had anywhere else) and a great local beer. Service was very good and our food was brought out fast. The live music was a plus. However the prices were pretty high given the tourist area. Overall an enjoyable meal.

Cruisers was fun and the food was great. I stopped in with 50 of my closest friends...(Tour bus;) The staff was fast, prompt, and very pleasant. The 60's mood just added to the charm. I had the brisket and it was fantastic. Out of our whole group I only heard a complaint from one table. That's pretty good. If you can't please everyone you might as well please 95% and call it a good day. We will certainly be returning to Cruiser's. Maybe with another bus load. Thanks Cruisers!

VERY DOG FRIENDLY!! Folks here were very gracious that we wanted to sit outside with our dog. Brought him water and offered treats. 50s vibe diner was an excellent addition to the Route 66 atmosphere. Food and service was really good. Will definitely come again.

A bit more $$ than we expected with 10%+ sales tax, but the food here is awesome. The BBQ is falling off the bone and covered in homemade sauce. Highly recommended!

We came in to town kind of late tonight and this place was right next to our hotel so we decided to stop in for dinner. It has a old school diner vibe with a Coca-Cola and Route 66 theme with it's own brewery....I REPEAT....IT'S OWN BREWERY. The plates our group ordered were delicious, the service was top notch with excellent friendly knowledgeable employees, the beer is so good! We look forward to going back tomorrow.

Not worth the money!! It looks like it will be a fun and "happening" place, but since the food was disappointing, it was not.

Good food and service. A little pricey but you get a lot of food. The unique environment makes going here worth it. Our server was welcoming and prompt.

Stopped by for breakfast while on a road trip. We waited to be seated for several minutes, during which the waitress was noticeably irritated (let out a big groan/sigh) when she saw us. There were maybe two other tables being served. Finally someone, presumably the manager or owner, and his sweet daughter sat us. I wish they stayed and served us because we got the oh so pleasant server from before. Service didn't get much better, she acted like we were wasting her time and disappeared to chat while we waited for a good 10-15 minutes for our check. Decor is really awesome, capturing the heart of Route 66. Portions are generous but the food itself is nothing special.

This place was incredibly crowded, even on the patio, despite light rain showers. A parking spot opened up just as we were driving by, otherwise I doubt we would have found parking. We sat outside, and like one previous reviewer, I almost fell on my head when I sat down in the rocking patio chairs - they are not perfect for eating, but I suppose they're great for relaxing with a beer and listening to the live music, which was very good! I had the Smoked Longhorn Burger - 1/2 pound angus beef burger topped with their smoked brisket, cheese and cole slaw and accompanied by curly fries. I was delicious and messy but also quite pricy at $17.95. The drinks were huge and should be, for $2.99 each. Our server was rushing to and fro and therefore not especially attentive - we waited about 15 minutes to get his attention and get our check. Overall the food was good and I can recommend this restaurant if you do mind paying the price for being a tourist.

Stopped in for lunch outside and nearly fell on my head when the ridiculous rocking chairs nearly went over backward. Anyone over 100 lbs can't use these things, so I had to perch uncomfortably on the front of the chair. My wife and I wanted to split a supposed half pound burger, a $3 charge on top of the $12 price. It was dry, skimpy, very little tomatos, 1 leaf of lettuce, and onion rings (another upcharge). To add insult to injury, they had a banjo player who played no bluegrass and whistled and scatted his way through a number of songs which all sounded the same. The best thing about the experience? We were rained out.

I would I have given 3 stars if it wasn't for Josiah, the restaurant manager who saved the day. Great live music , outdoor seating and good food. They are still working on their menu but wings are good.

Mediocre at its finest. My hubby and I both had the bacon cheeseburger with Curley fries. We felt it was food we could have had at a fast food place. Service was pretty good, but the food lacked in flavor and creativity. The only reason I'm giving this a 3 star is because of the young man who was our waiter - very pleasant and attentive.

Good local beer selection from Grand Canyon brewing company. Food is burgers, fries, onion rings kind of thing

You aren't gonna get much better in a town this small. They were absolutely packed when we were here and service was still great. We ordered a Mojito and Marg; I assumed they would be pre-mixed. I was so shocked when they came out and were absolutely amazing, something you would have received in an upscale restaurant in the city. Food was just as great. Jalapeño poppers where actually the vegetable, not a frozen deep fried pocket of grease. BBQ pork and ribs were excellent along with the sweet potato fries. I feel like if you don't like this place- your probably into Applebee's or Olive Garden and this makes your bad review irrelevant.

Went in for dinner on a Monday evening but left after receiving only two sodas. I was going to order the barbecue brisket plate but one of the sides was corn on the cob. Because of my dental work, I can't eat that. I asked the waitress to please substitute something I could eat but was rudely refused. We paid for the sodas and left. Having a policy of absolutely no substitutions regardless of circumstance shows that this restaurant doesn't care about getting repeat business. With the attitude exhibited by the waitress, I'm glad we left before there was a problem with the order, I'm sure the answer to anything would have been "gee that's the way we do it here."

Excellent lunch and service. BBQ pork, coleslaw, sweet potato fries were all very good. Live entertainment and a beautiful sunny day. A lunch trifecta! Our pooches were welcome in the outside dining area too. The server even brought water for them. Definitely will come back soon... all of us.

Great stop for the nastalgia of Route 66. Burger and Fries is what we needed, wanted and what we got. Has that great 50's diner feel. Defintely worth stopping when in town for a road trip

So not much selection in Williams. We got a burger, chicken strips, and a rack of ribs. I asked for a full rack, they game me a 1/2. Before i even received my food i had finished my coke....was it refilled, nope, never saw the server until the bill came. The burger was a step above McD's. The ribs were ok but the sides (corn, cold slaw, beans, bread) were terrible.

Food is bad service is bad. Go somewhere else. Burger and even fries were dry. Ranch sucks. If you must come here order the brisket and curly fries. Big disappointment after not eating since breakfast. At least I've got room for dessert!

  • Laura O.

The food was basic hamburgers and BBQ. It wasn't bad food, just very okay. Service was slow, although our food came out quick. We sat outside and there was live entertainment. I enjoy live music, but this was too loud and marginally good. Sitting outside on the main drag was nice, but for the price, pick somewhere else to eat.

  • Jessica L.

Service was fine but food is awful. Had the brisket and it was extremely dry, the corn was mush, and the rolls were extremely hard. On top of that, the waitress gave me the meal versus the sandwich and would not fix the order nor would management adjust cost, as the meal was $5.00 more. Dad had a hard burger and undercooked fries. Very charming decor, but better to take a walk through than put your money and your mouth here.

Tourist trap 101, we didn't like it one bit! Everything just felt fake, cars land in disneyland is more genuine route 66 than this place.

Went in with my buddy, sat down, made eye contact with waitress six times (she smiled) and left after ten minutes. No water, no menu, no service whatsoever. We were hungry so we went to another place down the street. Won't be back. The place wasn't busy when we were there, just an apathetic staff.

  • Eric C.

We went really late on a saturday night...... the food was so-so but the thing that concerned us was how sticky the floor was. We guessed it was a busy day and maybe something got dropped on it earlier but the floor almost kept my shoes. Besides that the staff was great and always made sure we had everything we needed.

My family ate here on a saturday night. It looked really busy when we pulled up but surprisingly we got seated really quick. Live entertainment was good and the smell of the food smoking outside was a attraction for us. Plus the decor. Our waitress took our order pretty quick but then we never saw her again until we were done eating. My husband got the sizzling steak-$25.00. The cast iron was cold, nothing sizzling about it. It was over cooked. Potatoe was cold & no butter. We had to get another waitress to get us butter. My husband was so disappointed in his food and would have sent it back if our waitress would have come in a timely manner. Not to mention we waited prob around 25 minutes to get someone from the kitchen to deliver our food. My kids and I had the brisket sandwiches-$12.00. They were good. My husband said he wasnt going to complain that he just wasnt going to leave her as good of a tip but they put the gratuity 18.5 % in our check. The bad service really was a damper on our review of this place. If the waitress had checked on us while we were eating and gotten us refills on drinks we wouldnt have minded paying the $100.00 bill we got. I was going to ask for the manager but my husband said "no, just let it go". We will never go back though.

My fiancee and I hiked the Grand Canyon earlier that day and came into Cruisers around 8pm on a Sunday night. It was busier than it looks like from the outside, but still moderately busy. We were given a booth right next to the bar and had easy views to the hockey games that were still being played. The service was actually pretty quick. I'm assuming because it was late on a Sunday night in Williams. Either everyone is back at their hotel, or already left to go home. I ordered the Ultimate Porker sandwich, which I thought was pretty delicious. The hamburger patty wasn't anything special, but the pulled pork was very delicious. My fiancee ordered the pulled pork sandwich and she wasn't disappointed either. The only thing that was disappointing was the homestyle beans. We switched out one of our sides of french fries for the beans, and immediately regretted our decision. They are very bland, were extremely hot (burning mouth hot), and just didn't have the flavor that we were looking for. The diner itself is very fun. The men's restroom is very well put together with a car door as a urinal divider as well as tailgates propped up for the stall divider. Definitely a place to stop at on the historic route 66. A little pricey for diner food, but takes ya into the 50's with all of the memorabilia and look.

I couldn't find a ribeye in this town to save my life. They had just run out, and Rod's only serves them on Fri.... Very pricey. Blue cheese burger good. I don't like iceberg lettuce for my burger or salad. It seems iceberg is the gig here in Williams. The chili was good & spicy..I don't like mayonaise served to me in packets when I'm at a sit down restaurant. It's weird. Our server was nice though. I'll go again.

John the music guy is the whole reason we came back! We made a trip here in July and had a blast sitting on the patio listening to him play. So when we came back last weekend with two kids it was on the top of our to do list. He brings kids on stage to shake maracas and a tambourine with him. The food is decent but the service isn't wonderful.

3 stars for food - 4 stars for atmosphere. We stayed at the Railway Hotel and chose this place for dinner after the smell of the open grill drew us in. The ribs smelled way better than they tasted but the patio with live entertainment was great. We also ordered the Ultimate Carnivore burger and it was great. The pulled pork and brisket were fair/average.

Nice atmosphere for summer eating, and an environment similar to a Silver Diner or Johnny Rocket. The problem we had was with their burgers, which from the menu, looked like their signature item. My son and I each ordered one, and asked for them medium and medium rare, respectively. The result was both were well-done and dry. The waitress was able to get us a 20% discount, but it was still one of the most expensive lunches we had on our trip outside of Las Vegas. In the end, it wasn't cooking them wrong that was so bad, it was that they were totally unremarkable--especially for the price.

  • Rhombus A.

Bleh. The beer is good. Of course the beer is good--they didn't make it. The burgers are greasy and flavorless. The fries managed to be limp, yet hard in the middle. To add insult to injury, two burgers, two beers, with tax and tip, $54.00!!! It was like 20 seconds of really dissapointing sex. We got fed, but we didn't enjoy it.

Delicious pancakes and great service. We went here for breakfast and were promptly served. These pancakes were some of the best I have sampled West of the Mississippi. Other dishes were solid, too, and came with credible Southwestern flair. Our server was prompt and friendly. You don't have to be over 50 to enjoy the attention to detail in the 50s/60s kitsch that suffuses the walls and the gift shop next door. Assuming you are staying at the railroad hotel, don't go to the Train Depot Café for all your meals, get out and try this place! One complaint was that the smoking barbeque out front was a little difficult to walk by without getting a lungful of smoke.

Came in at 8:45 pm with a group of 4 for a late dinner. I wanted to sit outside to hear the music and even though there were many tables available, they told me the wait would be 25 minutes. We waited 20 minutes then left because they would not seat us. There were many tables and when we asked, they told they were reserved for groups of 6 or more. What, why? At 9:15. After this we left. Not acceptable. Also very over priced and dirty.

See my review on 'Tinseltown' - this place is what people heading to Tinseltown want! This is a real authentic Route 66 diner - and then some! We called in here and had a decent feed and a few beers. Decor is very Route 66 kitsch its very much aimed at the tourists and it does it very well. They have live music here which although there was none on last night we have enjoyed excellent entertainment on previous visits. Its usually busy here which adds to the atmosphere. I had the chilli cheese fries - great chilli and superb fries and a generous helping. Lemon meringue pie to finish which was pretty good, plus 3 or 4 beers came to just over $40 which seemed good to me. Some reviewers seem to have experienced poor service, Im pleased to report that we had great service. Overall a great place

My experience wasn't a good one. The BBQ sucked ass. We ordered a combo of chicken, ribs, brisket, etc., because we couldn't settle on what to get. What we got was a pile of sloppy meat that all taste the same. It all taste like the cheap BBQ sauce that it was schalacked in. I have eaten here a couple of times and nothing has changed.

my daddy & i stopped here on the way 2 the grand canyon. the only reason this place is gettin 3 stars is due 2 their sweet potato fries! they were best sweet potato fries ever! they were soft and actually sift. some of the others ive tasted have been dry & bland but not these! i had the buffalo wings that were half bbq & half hot. they werent really hot but just had a twang 2 them. they were cooked 2 hard & some of the meat was 2 tough on the chicken. my dad had a mushroom swiss burger & he seemed 2 like it. but i ate about half of his fries cuz they were so good!

If I could rate zero stars I would. We came here after our polar express train ride and were seated next to the kitchen. The waitress dropped some menus on the table and left. She then came back to take our drink orders. Overpriced $2.99 each, kids meals do not include drink. Our food came and my son ordered the bbq chicken which was good. The waitress never bothered to come back except to drop the check and say ill cash you out. This is where the issue really got bad. I noticed my bill was really high and that they had auto added an 18% gratuity to our bill. Seeing that the waitress never came by to check on us I asked her about it and she got really angry and defensive and went to the point of threatening my husband that she was going to call the police. She was obviously upset and demanded her tip saying it was policy to charge for parties 5 and more. I told her we never said we weren't going to tip but I just wanted to ask her where it said that and she said on the menu and threw it down. I had all the intention in the world of leaving a tip I was just asking a question. When I asked to talk to the manager she said she was the manager and I tried to explain to her that all we were doing was asking a question and her attitude yelling at us and my children was inappropriate and uncalled for. She wouldn't let me talk at all and kept yelling You don't want to tip we'll have to call the cops. I asked her to give me the owners info and she then said she could get the general manager which before she had said was her! I also mentioned to her that tips were based on service which we had not received and that Is when she yelled that we had received excellent service, which was not true because aside from taking our order she never came back to check on us. After twenty minutes or so a young man whom introduced himself as the manager walked to our table and he was really courteous but he said the reason she had been rude was because she was having a bad day and we happened to be on the receiving end of her blow up. I told him that kind of attitude was unacceptable and it was a shame that after having such a pleasant experience on the train we were subjected to this type of treatment. My kids were scared and almost in tears which really angered me because the train ride had made them so happy. Don't ruin your night and go elsewhere.

Yeah it's busy, but so what? That's no excuse to treat your customers like crap. We came in and waited about fifteen minutes, not bad at all, and we're seated a table that was filthy. The waiter just watch us clean it, how nice. And our napkin sets? Already filthy. And did he offer to get us new ones? Nope. The table next to us had the same problems, waiting forever and getting terrible service and no food. At that point, who the heck cares how the food tastes if you're treated as if you're not the one paying the bill at the end?! Don't come here! It's not worth it at all! Oh and the food is only halfway decent if you were wondering. The coleslaw is tasteless, same with the "seasoned spicy" fries that were bland, chicken sandwich is fine, same with the chicken strips.

Beer is great. Good drink to have after a Grand Canyon visit. The beer is from the local brewery next door; Grand Canyon Brewery. Cafe is OK. I would prolly go back to cafe for the beer. The beer, I give it 4. The cafe, I'd give it a 3. Looks awesome. Food is just ok. Beans were cold. BBQ needed more flavor. Huge portions though.

It was decent. Had a hamburger which was tasty and done medium to my request. The star of the meal, though, was the Grand Canyon Brewery beer. It was outstanding. The food was okay, the service was very good, and the beer was excellent.

Terrible. I got the brisket plate. There was more fat than meat, the slaw was warm and wilted and the beans were soup with as many carrots and celery as beans. I hope I don't get food poisoning. Gave it one star because there is not the option for -5.

My boyfriend & I stopped by here while staying a night in Williams between Vegas & the Grand Canyon. After reading mediocre/conflicting reviews of every place in town, we decided to go with Cruisers because it was packed at 930pm on a Sunday night, was reasonably priced & looked like a classic diner. We went in with low expectations, hoping we'd get an ok meal & worst case, at least we weren't paying $20+ a plate (like several other restaurants in town) for bad food. They had an open fire going outside & the smoky BBQ smell wafted inside the open doors at first, charmingly, but soon became pretty irritating (my hair & clothes smelled for several days) Our waitress was a total sweetheart & very attentive. My boyfriend ordered a local beer on draft which was very good, especially for a $5 pint. We both decided to stick with BBQ (when in Rome) so he ordered the half slow roast chicken & I asked our waitress for her recommendation between the brisket or pulled pork sandwich. She said she liked the latter so I want for it. Neither plate was appetizing when it came out - his was smothered with several cups of BBQ sauce and my sandwich came with a horribly soggy bun & barely any BBQ sauce, with some really sad looking microwaved mixed veggies on the side. He dug right in and cleaned his plate, with my help, because the pulled pork was disgusting & inedible. It smelled horrible and tasted like it came from a can - completely soaked with salt. I've never had anything like it, it was bizarre. I made him try it to confirm I wasn't overreacting and he took one tiny bite and said - do not eat that, something isn't right. So overall he had a decent meal but mine was disgusting. Good thing we could grab an ice cream cone down the street afterwards because I basically missed dinner!

    (2)
  • H C.

Shockingly inedible. One of the worst places I've ever eaten. Steak rubbery. Spaghetti cold with canned sauce splashed on top. Waited a full hour for the food. Don't be fooled by the fun look and smell of wood-burning grill (which must be a prop because I never saw anyone move food to or from it).

Brisket sandwich was fatty. Service was good. Overpriced for what you get. The pork was fatty and super dry.

    (2)
  • Emma J.

Wow talk about service! What normally takes an hour or so to sit-eat-chat-pay took us 20minutes. We get seated right away, we order the chili-cheese fries and rib tips and seriously they were out in less than 5minutes. Take a look at the pictures I took of the food and from just the look fries look and seem like they're going to taste freaking fabulous! UM major NO! they tasted so odd I don't know how else to explain. I mean they weren't bad but they were just not good lol just don't bother ordering them... The toppings though was good. Now the rib tips man oh man yum yum yummy the meat just fell off the bone! get those!!! ;) The place is super cute seats outside and inside... We choose outside because of the beautiful weather. Prices -decent service - greatttttt! One of my favorite spots that we ate on our road trip. =]

I stopped at this establishment on the Fourth of July to have a good burger and watch the local parade stroll down historical Route 66. That is exactly what I got. Was it the best burger I ever had? No, but it was decent. The drinks were huge, the service was somewhat attentive, and the price was reasonable. The whole Route 66 theme is a bit kitschy, but it's to be expected, it's ON Route 66. Here's my breakdown: Ambience: 4 Food: 3 Drinks: 4 Service: 3 Price: 3.5 Honorable mentions: they have local craft beer, there's entertainment on the patio, and locals seem to like it considering we witnessed a couple who just got married walk onto the patio and have their first dance by the entertainer. That was kind of adorable.

    (3)
  • Mark N.

The Route 66 decor and theme was neat and fitting for the area. There was indoor and outdoor seating that provided options to enjoy the outdoors and people watch as you ate. A musician had just finished playing as we arrived. That was what brought us in, the theme and looks of the place. Why we would not return. The waiter was polite and friendly, not excellent, but nothing extraordinary. No problem. The food was Meh, burgers were dry, at least 2 of us commented on this. No one in our group was very inspired or impressed by the food, many diners offer better burgers and dishes. For the price and the value, better off going to the fast food chains, food is just as good. The final blow was desert. We ordered desert and waiter brought bill and we paid as he said he turned in order to girl who makes desert. The we waited, and waited, and waited, and waited.... Finally my wife went to check up front and girl said our waiter had left and she had so many orders for desert she was not sure which was ours. My wife found ours, she could have picked a couple others at that point too if she had wanted, but just brought ours back to the table. We won't be returning if we travel to this area again.

Worst food that I have eaten in some time. Had a better chicken sandwich in dining facilities in Afghanistan. I ordered a Cajon chicken sandwich and it was the dullest sandwich ever. Ordered mac and cheese for my daughter and it was kraft. 6 bucks! Absolutely horrible restaurant. Service was good however.

The location is great, the place itself stands out from all the others. The food was delicious but, the service was terrible. I had to remind the waiter to bring silverware, side orders, refills, and it wasn't a busy night.

The food was good. The atmosphere with live music was wonderful. The service was outstanding. I really appreciate that the staff secured my expensive camera when I left it there while on vacation. Then, Josiah the manager went out of his way to ship it back to me in CA. This is what I call superb service beyond the call of duty. Thank you Josiah!

  • Steve N.

By far the worst service at a restaurant in a tourist town. We had 5 people in our party and only for other parties in restaurant with no more than four people. Took 10 mins to take drink order. All burgers were more than well done. Server ask how everything was before anyone had even taken a bite and never came back until she put the bill in the table. Not good at all for a place charging $10-16 a burger.

    (1)
  • Richard W.

Dined on the outdoor patio with live music, smoker going as you enter and a full house but no wait on a table at 7pm. The comfortable setting before heading up to the Grand Canyon was fantastic! Food is done well. I pride myself on my own BBQ and they prepared a really good brisket plate. Brisket didn't need any sauce (like real BBQ should be eaten!), but the sauce was great. Seating is in comfortable rockers, shaded, nice. Inside dining has AC and an old-time diner feel. Very clean restrooms and kitchen (yes, I peeked!). Not to be missed if you're passing through town. (BTW...the Piggy place across the street was my first choice based on reviews but it was empty and this place was rocking. Turns out the Singing Pig just opened but has numerous reviews. Seems like a fake job by the owner.)

We visited this place last summer. It was extremely crowded so we had sit on the patio. This would have been ok, except the late afternoon sun practically baked us, and there was no way to really block it. And the live music, while enjoyable, was really too loud for how close it was to all of us on the patio. The nail in the coffin was the fact that the food was obviously all pre-made, frozen stuff. Nothing from scratch or fresh. And given the food quality, the prices were ridiculous. We will avoid this place if we ever find ourselves in town again.

Walking through town on Halloween, the wonderful bbq smells drew me in. Very friendly staff! Ordered to go and we were not disappointed. The classic cheeseburger was fat, juicy and very well seasoned. Excellent potato bacon soup. Maggie took very good care of me and provided all the necessities for my meal. Large gift shop attached. Pricey but very delicious. Menu includes steak, ribs, BBQ and appetizers.

So first night in Williams and starving, family and I were recommended here by our hotel. Place had an open atmosphere and our waitress was super nice and accomadating. The ribs were massive and fantastic! I had the pulled pork and beef burger. It was sublime! Almost couldn't finish one soda compared to how big the glass was. Definitely worth stopping in.

Had very bad customer service, we were seated and then ignored! We made eye contact with several waiters, we smiled at them, in an attempt to let them know we were ready to order. We did not even get acknowledged. No one said hello, nor said they would be with us soon. The place was more than half empty....We waited about 10 minutes then walked out!! Take your buisness to the Singing Pig, they are so friendly and the food was amazing!!

Food is pretty good, but the staff can be rather lax and you have to flag them or ask multiple times for stuff. I do, however, LOVE their beer. Their Raspberry Wheat is outstanding!

Went to Singing Pig next door but couldn't get in...so crossed the street and came here. What a disappointment. Son had rack of pork ribs, I had beef ribs. Both were tough and excessively slathered with BBQ sauce...probably in an attempt to cover way over cooked and fatty ribs. Beans were OK, but stale bread and 2 day old coleslaw made it overall bad experience. Giving 2 stars as our waitress was super nice...but we should have waited the hour to get in next door.

Nice set up and perfect setting for a 50 diners. My Taquitos were great! Now that bad stuff. Way too over priced for the taste. Also, service was under par. Yes the ladies were nice, but can I get some help over here. Overall, wouldn't rush back.

I would stay away from this place. We were in town to hike down the Grand Canyon and stopped for dinner at Cruiser's. I don't want to go into details about the food, the yelp reviews here are unfortunately pretty accurate about the quality. Why I am actually writing this review is because they charged our credit card again two days after our dinner. WTF? Who's doing such a thing?? So not only we had some not-so-good food, but on top we had to pay twice. Will investigate further.

This place was disgusting and overpriced - If I could give it less than one star, I would. The service also gets a big fat 0. My boyfriend wanted a chicken sandwich and our server said she can give him the chicken strips in the form of a sandwich since they didn't have one on the menu. It seemed like a great idea until we saw that instead of a "chicken sandwich", she really meant "cold chicken strips thrown on a stale bun with 0 effort". Then she had the balls to charge him $11 for it (he never would have ordered that piece of crap in the first place). Our excellent server also 1) chewed gum (doesn't take a genius to figure out how unprofessional that one is) 2) sat at the bar, texting on her phone (right next to us) instead of doing her job and refilling our waters, checking on her tables, etc. and 3) took almost 20 long minutes to bring us our check With 2 beers and 2 entrees, our bill was almost $50. I'm so glad I had the chance to experience such shitty service and shitty food at the very same time ... who would have thought I could be so lucky!! I also don't think I have ever tipped a server so low and felt no remorse. Our server put the cherry on top of her level of professionalism when after she saw our tip, she gave us a really dirty look on the way out. That was our way of giving her the middle finger so we were happy she got the picture.

Food is bland. Cole slaw was on the plate with my sandwich so the bottom was soggy and inedible. The service and beer were the best parts of this experience.

Three things attracted us to this restaurant: they had a singer playing music we like (folk music & soft rock), they had a nice patio for outdoor dining and we found a parking space nearby. For lunch my husband and I split a rack of pork ribs ($20) and my daughter had the kid's mac & cheese ($7 or $8, I believe). She was happy with hers and ate the whole thing. She must be going through a growth spur, because she then had several ribs as well. Fortunately, neither my husband nor I are in need of extra calories, so the remaining ribs were enough for us. Unfortunately, they weren't that great. The first thing that greeted you into the restaurant, even before the music, was the smoke from the grill - but none of it seemed to have permeated into the ribs, which tasted parboiled. The BBQ sauce was just generic. Service was quite good, our waiter was pretty attentive. Alas, we usually get good service even at restaurants when others don't. Perhaps we aren't so picky, or perhaps we just look like bigger tippers.

Should have listened to the reviews but we got into town late and many other restaurants were closed. The beef ribs were really good as well as the side of corn but the rest soso. We dropped a hundred here quickly for two adult meals and two kids meals - kinda pricey. (With our 10% coupon off in the adult meals)

We were lured in by the smell, the atmosphere and the live music, but by the time our fatty, overpriced meals arrived 45 minutes later we were over it. Our hungry toddler fell asleep waiting for the food to show up. About 25% of my brisket was fat and had to be cut off. The beans were cold when they made it to our table and our server was slow to refill our drinks. Do yourself a favor and find another place to eat.

We stopped here for lunch. There was a grill out front pumping out the smoke & the sign said best BBQ in town & it was busy, whimsical so how could the be bad, right? Well, let's just say, we were not impressed with the food. I have had great BBQ & this "pork BBQ " was questionable. It had some really dark meat that didn't look like pork & was full of fat. My son had the brisket & it was full of fat too. I realize I was in a tourist trap, but when the bill came out, I was a little more than shocked that they had automatically added a gratuity of 18% to my bill which totaled over $100 for 4 adults & 1 child.

Walked in with good expectations- atmosphere is spectacular even on a sunday night! Singer was good and smoking wood smelled so awesome! Food was just alright nothing great had a burger it was dry and tasteless-hubby had ribs and they were just ok. Did it once won't be going again-however all the other places probably have similar tasting food ao what are you gonna do?!

I guess I'll give it 3 stars. We stopped in for a beer, and like everyone else in Williams we weren't greeted very well. Locals here seem to be annoyed by customers, why I have no clue. Took forever to get 2 beers. My seasonal pumpkin beer was really good but flat. Bummer because we were looking forward to trying the local beer from Grand Canyon brewing co next door. I'm giving it 3 stars because the beer was good even though the service sucked.

The outside of Cruisers Cafe looks good. The aromas coming from the kitchen are good. The food looks good. But don't be fooled, it's mediocre food at higher than mediocre prices. I had a burger, which was average--average quality meat, average tastiness. My wife ordered a Caesar salad, it was made with iceberg lettuce and came with red bell peppers and a packet of salad dressing. On the way out, we saw a their barbecue. It was clearly overcooked and smothered in sauce.

We intended to visit Grand Canyon Brewing but found that they are no longer open. The note on the door directs people next door to Cruiser's as they have all their beer on tap. Since it really was just next door we walked over and sat at the bar and had a flight of all the Grand Canyon beers on tap. All were really good, both my husband and I were impressed. I liked the two wheat beers best and he of course like the IPA the best. They also had all the beer available for take home purchase in both cans and bottles. The service behind the bar was excellent, our bartender was very friendly and even made us a special mix of two beers that was excellent.

came for lunch after a morning trip to the grand canyon. walked by it last night and it was packed so thought we would try, and so glad we did. fun atmosphere, great food, priced right. i got a brisket sandwich and it wa loaded with tender brisket with tasty bbq sauce. i could only eat half and i was stuffed. hubby got 1/2 bbq chicken, it was fall off the bone tender and juicy. kids meals were priced right and they cleaned thier plates, good sign for my picky eater. we sat on the outside patio, our server was attentive and friendly. i tried the local wheat beer and it was quite good. a fun guy came out and played banjo and sang and he was really good. i will go back anytime i am near.

Menu and waitress said the ribs were smoked. Clearly they were not. They tasted boiled or pressure cooked. Worst ribs my husband has ever had. Then there was a group that was standing and smoking right next to another table who was getting ready to eat. And I mean close. They might have well have just pulled up a chair. I was so mad for those people I said something to the hostess to make them move. She should have seen that herself.

  • James S.

Great atmosphere but the food is average at best. The supposedly smoked for 8 hours pork ribs had obviously never seen a smoker. There was zero smokey taste and no smoke ring. The baked beans tasted like Campbell's vegetable soup with beans thrown in it. My wife had the bourbon mushroom rib eye. The steak was cooked as she ordered it but she said the bourbon mushroom sauce simply tasted like mushrooms in brown gravy. The service was lacking as well it took way too long to get our food. Too bad the place looks great but the food is meh and we won't be back.

Me and my girls stopped here on our way to the Grand Canyon, the little town of Wiliiams, Az is a great little place to stop, shop, eat and hang around. Very quaint. This place is Route 66 themed and serves your classic burgers, fries and bbq. I had a burger and it was quite good. The outdoor seating was nice on a sunny day and the waitress was sweet.. even though she did drop a glass bottle of mustard and break it while we were there.. anyone can have a mishap... she seemed new or a little confused... no one was stained or hurt.. so it was fine. It was moderately priced and they serve micro-brews and Grand Canyon Beer.. (I don't drink beer, but I saw it on the menu)

The reason for 2 stars- the price. This is diner food. We both opted for burgers (the porker and the ) and they were both good. BUT, they are still diner burgers, and I think $15 per meal was a little much. Clearly we were hungry and our options were limited, which is probably why they charge what they do. Nothing was BAD about this place...it just wasn't worth the price. We ate at a Wolfgang Puck restaurant in Vegas the next day for the same tab.

Atmosphere was like an old diner and I expected diner type of food. The menu is primarily beef, chicken, and pork. Leave the vegetarians at home! The food far exceeded diner food and was top notch BBQ. Grilled chicken sandwich and Cabernet jelly burger were both amazing. Massive portions, no need for an appetizer! Great beer from Grand Canyon brewery next door. It's not on the menu, but you can get a flight of beers to sample each one.

This place is amazing. I was craving a burger and a cold beer. The burger was perfectly cooked with an incredible flavor. The blue cheese bacon burger was totally worth the money which by the way was relatively inexpensive. Our server ,Vitty was on the money. Best service I've had in a long time. I give this place 5 stars.

Food was alright. First time I ate therethe waitress asked how I wanted my burger cooked and what fries I wanted. The second time the waitress didnt ask she just wrote down...so I ended up getting a dry, well done burger. First time was a little busy so the 25 minute wait AFTER we got seated was a little understandable...but I hardly saw the waitress after she took my order and so I ended up having one cup of my beverage. Second time the place was almost empty and it took 15 minutes after we were seated to get a waitress to even acknowledge us. The price is a bit steep but as someone who travels quite a bit im used to tourist prices. I guess I could sum it up by saying the food is decent service is slow. Its an okay place to eat, especially if you are into the 50's/early 60's atmosphere. The staff seems a bit disconnected like they are lost. Always looking around and walking without direction.

Cute place but bad service had to wait 15 minutes to be seated only to be seated in a spot that was clear when we walked in then waited another 15 min and still not even a drink order was taken .. Walked out went to a place down the street

This was the worst restaurant experience I ever had in my life. My husband enjoyed his chicken fried steak but I ordered the ribs. The ribs had nothing but FAT on them...no meat. When pointed out to the server, she put her hand on my shoulder and said to the effect "I'm sorry you didn't get a good meal to eat". WHA??? Then expecting them to "comp" the meal or at least discount it because it was partially edible, fries, slaw, NOTHING!!! We paid our bill but left floored. After visiting with friends in Phoenix now understand THEY DON'T CARE...Route 66 nostalgia carries them through...don't have to care about what they serve.

My two tween kids and I wound up here but I wouldn't go back. They had outside seating but we sat inside because it was a hot afternoon. It was cooler inside, but not completely closed off and air conditioned. This would matter more in the middle of the summer. The decor was touristy but fun for us travelers. The service was good, very attentive, and the mashed potato side was huge and good. I had a local beer and it was great. I ordered brisket and the meat was cold and half fat! Half! I've never seen that at any bbq place. Also, I was really surprised there were huge nuts in the cole slaw. I've never encountered that recipe before anywhere, which I think is dangerous because it's so unexpected. So many people have nut allergies, and my kid has braces....I think they should warn people. We also got wings and fries which were adequate. For a beer, two sodas, a couple appetizers, an entree and a side, with tip the bill was $60 which is high but not horrible for a tourist restaurant. Skip the sodas at $3 ea. I should have gone to the nearby Safeway to buy a healthy hotel picnic.

I love classic diners that feature Americana and the diner did not disappoint. The food was incredible and our server was nice. The only part we didn't like was the 20% gratuity added to our check without notice as we had a party of 6. The portions were really large, and really tasty. Can't wait to go back!

I'd give this place 1 star except the bartender gave us a great recommendation. We were looking over the menu at the bar discussing we'd like something a bit more formal and more quiet and she mentioned the Red Raven down the street. So, we went back the next night to this place and were very disappointed with the food. Good beer though.

I went to Arizona to visit the Grand Canyon and decided to have dinner here. OMG, the food blew my mind! I got the BBQ Pulled Pork Sandwich, and it came with sweet potato fries, and coleslaw. It was so good! I usually get tired of sweet potato fries midway but theirs was delicious and light I had to eat all of it. My boyfriend got short ribs and it was delicious as well! And the portions are huge! I guarantee you will clean out your plate. If I go back to Williams I will definitely come back here!

How does a place that brags about its barbecue screw up chicken? That is the question for the pit master at Cruisers. I ordered the barbecued half-chicken and it was way, way over done. Not burned but left on the side of the barbecue too long. The bones slipped out of the meat so easily I knew it was probably over-done, cutting into the breast I knew. It was completely dried out and it had no flavor once you got past the skin. My wife had the sirloin steak with the Jim Beam Bourbon sauce, it was okay but not as much flavor in the sauce as the write up would have you believe. As she said, "this needs acid." My daughter had a cheeseburger and said it was "really yummy." Even though she had it well done it too was too dry. She always gets burgers well done and most of the time they have some juice, it was lacking here. For the price, three adult meals, four beers, one kids meal, wings appetizer, the total before tip was $91, we were under-served in quality and flavor. Cruisers has great beer, Grand Canyon Brewery, and a nice patio to sit and sip listening to the guitar player. Otherwise it is a tourist one-and-done place, we went the one and are probably done for any future visits.

First impressions were good and there's a lot of potential for this place but there's clearly a lot of room for improvement too. The waiters disappeared at key moments (order, check) which made for a long wait (even by European standards). The staff don't seem to communicate at all, creating "who asked the check for a ..." throughout the diner type of situation. Sirloin was good, liked the mushroom & bourbon sauce. Too many wallnuts in the salad, a very dominating taste and texture. Toilets are original but a bit awkward (curtains as dividers in female toilets).

I was here this past weekend, to be straight to the point, the food sucked. I ordered 12 rolled tacos for 14.95 and guacamole for I think 4.00 more and a soft drink. the rolled taco's I was told by the server are awesome..... They were the frozen trash that you would buy at Costco (Sysco ) I paid 28.00 inc. tip for trash that I could get better than at jack in the box. ----------- don't eat here---------- live music was the only thing worth a damn here.

Good, home-style BBQ / diner food served up with the warm small town hospitality of Williams, AZ! We were looking for a place to eat while visiting the Grand Canyon with the family South Rim of the Grand Canyon had a bunch of touristy/cafeteria style spots...not exactly what we were looking for and certainly didn't want to battle the Grand Canyon tourist mobs there. So, we decided to hold on to our stomachs a while and search for a place that served up some great local fare. Alas, Cruiser's Cafe 66 was found, thanks to Yelp! Nice, clean place obviously oriented towards visiting tourists since Williams is a small town. But they didn't disappoint! They were able to seat our group of 9 in a private wing off the main dining room. Nice and cozy. The decor was a throwback to the 50's/60's hot rod era, complete with drive-in mural, metal signage, hubcaps mounted on walls, and other era-correct memorabilia. The place wasn't too crowded, so service was great. Ordered up burgers, fries, salads, and BBQ along with all the fixins...baked beans, cole slaw, corn on the cob. All great stuff...no skimpin' on the portions either. I wanted to have Grand Canyon Brewery beer...they serve it up here and the brewery is right next door. But, I was driving and it was only lunch time...shucks. They do, however, sell the beer to-go. All-in-all, the city of Williams and Cruiser's Cafe 66 is a great place to stop by for a bite to eat if you're ever in the Grand Canyon South Rim area.

A pretty neat place right on Route 66. Lively place, with live music, right on the Route, neat decor and a bit nostalgic, food was pretty good, I had some of the best smoked beef ribs I've eaten and the wife enjoyed the sample of beer and smoked chicken. Friendly staff, quick seating even for being a little busy.

My wife and I just wanted a bite to eat after a long day of playing tourist and driving too much. We got even better than what we bargained for here. I had the burger with BBQ brisket on it, and it was AWESOME. Really tasty. Especially their BBQ sauce. They really know what they're doing here, and on the off chance I ever get through Williams again, I'll be sure to stop here again.

Typical over priced for the food served and the area. Williams riding the back of the tourist! Half the time they have a limited selection of beer and the BBQ is nothing special..

The BBQ is wonderful. The atmosphere is engaging. The simger was great. The service was good. The TURN OFF was a snotty nosed kid sneezing, wiping his nose with his hand and then continuing to wrap clean eating utensils in a napkin. Each set he rubbed his hand all over it to line up the utensils before he wrapped it in the napkin and taped it. I stopped eating the fabulous cold slaw and baked beans. It made me nauseated. Didn't finish the BBQ. Disgusting. Can't recommend just because of the general hygiene allowed at the establishment. Makes you wonder how many employees wash their hands after using restroom.

$56 for a huge mound of everything on the BBQ menu that could feed more than the 2-4 they suggest on the menu. Kind staff. Awesome men's bathroom with vintage signs and car parts everywhere. Vintage signs and gas pumps throughout the place. live entertainment during dinner time on a Sunday and Monday.

The place has it's charm and the service was fine. Good patio with live music and a grill which smell attracts the tourists (like myself). I had a bacon cheese burger. Pretty decent (not memorable though). The curly fries were good. Crispy bacon is also a plus. The corn in the cob was forgettable and super small. My aunt and mom had broccoli soup and they said it was great. I have to say that kids burger is an insult. Unless you kid weights 185 pounds at 5, it's just way too much food. We sat inside and it was kind of warm and once in a while I noticed a foul smell, like sewage. Between 2 and 3 stars. Not a must but an ok diner.

  • Michael C.

Get the ribs! This is the best BBQ and location in Williams. It's a little over commercialized, so just avoid the gift shop and enjoy the local brew and BBQ. Live music on the patio when the weather is nice.

I have never written a review before. I use YELP for new places I am not familiar with. Last night, we went to Cruisers for dinner. The food was pretty good but the service horrible. It took us over an hour and twenty minutes to get our food. No one came to ask how our food was. Our drinks were not filled quickly. We used a 10% discount that one of the local stores gave us. Because we had a little larger group, there was the auto gratuity that usually doesn't work out for our servers that do a great job. We always give more. I WOULD NEVER GO BACK. U have one chance to make a good impression, not good.

Alright I've seen a good amount of poor reviews for this restaurant and I feel like that's not the case at all. The atmosphere here is really awesome for such a small town like Williams. I would definitely suggest sitting outside where the live music is going on, plus it's usually nice out so why not sit outside? I ordered the Chili cheese burger with sweet potato fries and I was really impressed. The burger was nice and fat and cooked to perfection. My girlfriend ordered a bleu burger and she said it was one of the best she had ever had. The food was delicious and priced a little over $10 (for burgers at least.) And I would go with sweet potato fries if you're a fan because they are pretty darn good. I would recommend this to anyone and I would take a lot of the negative reviews with a grain of salt. In a town like Williams (small) I would say this place is a gem! The service was the only thing I can complain about, although we were sat quickly we only saw our waitress a couple times. 1. Drink orders 2. Drink delivery / food order 3. Food delivery. 4. Check. So needless to say I did not get a beverage refill. But any who the food was good and the atmosphere good as well! If i'm ever back in Williams I will go again!

So glad I didn't check Yelp before we stopped here because we would have missed out on a fantastic meal. They were obviously packed, but we were seated fairly quickly and a sassy server (I like it) took our order. Based on how busy the cafe was, I expected to wait forever for our food, but it was FAST! We shared the Top Sirloin with the Blue Cheese butter (cooked perfectly, moist and so yummy) and the BBQ Ribs (sauce was finger lickin'), beans were flavored nicely, corn got a wow from my kid and I couldn't stop eating the fries. The ONLY fallback was my beer snob of a husband had the taster flight and wasn't WOW'd by anything and didn't even have the slightest buzz. Sure it was a little pricey, but we were thrilled. Then to find out they were short staffed because they were about to remodel and I was shocked because we were well taken care of.

Wanted to eat at the well reviewed BBQ place in town, but it was closed weekdays during offseason. We ate at Cruisers: the ambience was Rt 66 kitsch, which was pretty much what we were looking for. The food was overpriced and mediocre, but I will say I didn't have high expectations--I imagine they're not concerned about repeat business--so I wasn't shocked. Waitress was friendly.

After a long day of hiking the Grand Canyon it was good to relax and have some good bar b que waitress was very nice and even sang with the live singer entertaining everyone with a variety of songs. Had the family bar b que plater baby backs beef ribs brisket tri tip beans coleslaw and corn on the cob. Would recommend stopping in atmosphere is great right on Route 66.

A-ok, big portions a little pricey but not too crazy. The only thing was, that the wood they used for smoking the food smelled more like pine than oak or mesquite. Otherwise everything was great. Seemed the owner was taking orders, she was very friendly and great personality. I would give it another try.

A group of 6 of us came on a Saturday night. When we asked to sit on the patio we were told it would be 40 minutes- it actually was only about 10. The weather was nice, the food was good, tasty ribs, but I have been spoiled by Phil's BBQ in San Marcos. A man sang and played guitar on the patio. The atmosphere was fun-Lots of people. People who complain it's a tourist trap need to remember where they are....a tourist town. We'll go again next time we are here. ps. This used to be an actual service station and my Father in Law worked here every Sunday when he was a Senior in high school pumping gas and fixing tires.

My family went here after our trip on the Polar Express, what a nightmare (both the Polar Express AND this place!)! We were walking around looking for a place to eat. Never being to Williams we asked around. We should have taken the advice from a local shop owner and found somewhere else to eat (she said it was "ok", touch and go). We asked some patrons who were leaving the restaurant how the food was (it was a large group) they said it was GREAT! The brisket was to die for and the other meat options were great. Ok, with that personal recommendation, we went in. It was set up like a 60's diner... ok. HUGE red stop signs everywhere to warn you about the steps. Very gaudy, IMO. The floor was a checkerboard black and white tile with silver metal edging on the steps, this is where I can see why they put the signs up!?? People were probably falling up or down the stairs! lol We were sat pretty quick even though the place looked busy. We sat... and sat... and sat. It took Chatty Cathy 11 minutes or MORE to greet us. (Mind you I am in the service industry and this is a NO NO!) We should have just left but we had a five yr old with us who was hungry, so we stayed. Since it took a long time for her to arrive we already had a couple of choices to ask about. Mind you this place is NOT cheap! Since we had three people we ordered the "Family Platter", it was $54.00. It came with Corn on the cob (old and recooked, it was chewy and cold) Baked beans (which had NO beans all sauce in a stained bowl), coleslaw- which has nuts in it (wouldn't you ask or tell your guest with a child it had nuts?) apples and a vinegar base. YUCK! Beef ribs that were HUGE, pork ribs (I think a whole slab?), Brisket (was yummy, but COLD) and half a chicken (warmest thing on the plate btw). Oh did I tell you there is a brewery attached to the name? Grand Canyon Brewery. I ordered the sampler of beer. YUCK YUCK YUCK! It was ALL flat. She hands me a wooden handmade vessel for the beers, except one "didn't" fit, so she carried it with her hands (which I'm sure were filthy... it's a BBQ place) I did TRY all the beers some were so unpalatable i literally had to spit it out. Two of the beers were some raspberry flavored drink?? Chatty Cathy had, from what I could see, a 4 table section. She had an eight top behind us, a six top to the right of us, a five top and us a three top. None of the tables were sat in such a way that she would be slammed... she just was a horrible server. No sense of urgency or how to consolidate her steps. She ran around like a crazy person!!?? She was paying more attention to her larger parties than to us, which made me extremely angry. I had to catch her eye several times to get her to my table. I think she may have stopped by ONCE to check on us, and that was well into our meal, Thinking about it actually I say she came by and no one could talk because we had our mouths full. I have been working in the restaurant business for 24 years. I have done it all. I am a server by trade, i love my job and I am good at what I do. I am not sure how these people get jobs and keep them? 6am in the morning my 5 yr old is up and vomiting. He was sick to his stomach for most of the morning. Not sure why, but this is the ONLY place we ate since lunch (that I packed from home).

We were seated right away in this fun diner, but unfortunately had nobody address us for several minutes following being seated. When our server realized we were there, he was very apologetic. We ordered two beers from the Grand Canyon Brewery, an appetizer and food right away. The beer took a bit to get to us, as our server was underage and could not bring the beer to us. The place didn't seem so busy, but half the servers were running like crazy, and the other half were standing around. We ordered the pulled bbq pork and beef brisket sandwiches. The pork was so smokey and delicious, and the brisket was good as well. There wasn't enough BBQ sauce for my liking, so when someone walked by I asked for more--this was a WONDERFUL call, because they brought it out and it was steaming hot--SO good!! The beers were pretty good, we ended up buying a 12 pack to take with us. Also--the mozzarella sticks we ordered were quite good--not too greasy like they can be sometimes.

I can't give this place less than one star, so I guess one star will have to make do. Honestly, this place is a wreck. The service was crummy, there were flies buzzing all around and the food - yikes. If Gordon Ramsey walked into this place he would have a heart attack and scream, "SHUT IT DOWN!" In reading the other reviews, it sounds like the owners really don't care. That's a shame. I guess it's ok if you are just relying on tourism, but with Yelp - now people can see in advance to avoid this place like the plague. My dining partner got a root beer float, which was ok. But how can you mess up Dryer's ice cream and root beer from a bottle?!?! Duh. We tried the pulled pork sandwich and beef brisket sandwich, which had a giant glob of fat on it. *shudder* Honestly, it tasted like pre-fab food. The stuff you get ready-made in the supermarket is better than this junk. Even the fries were bad. My daughter got the kids mac & cheese with applesauce. It was almost $7 for a pile of Kraft (honestly it was probably Food Club off brand based on this place) and a container of applesauce you just buy in a store. If you're going to serve my daughter crap, at least make it decent crap. The applesauce was loaded with high fructose corn syrup. You could tell the mac and cheese had been piled on the plate a long time ago and maybe nuked. It had sort of this nasty film on it. It was so bad that people walked in and sat down next to us, and I told them it was awful. That's how bad it was. To be truthful, you'd be better off at Dairy Queen down the street or drive further and go to McDonald's. At least if you're eating pre-fab crap there, you go in knowning it And the bathrooms sketched me out. They had these gross curtains covering the stalls instead of doors. All I could think was how nasty they must be with people wiping themselves and then touching the cloth. GAH. But I guess this establishment - if you want to call it that - doesn't care. I have no idea what the other reviewer is talking about with the ice tea. The server told me it was Brisk from the soda fountain. Gross. I also "enjoyed" how the staff were yelling at each other when we were there. We come to Williams at least once a year. We will never go back. I advise you to run. It's an awful mess. SHUT IT DOWN!!!!

Loved the decor, food was way over priced and ordinary. Staff was a bit slow although they were not that busy. Glad I experienced it, now I won't have to wonder how it is.

We had a party of six, after 5, gratuity is auto added. So service was pretty non existent. Burger was dry. Fries were cold when brought out. Kids menu is overpriced. Ignored a recommendation to stay away. Big mistake. Your better off at McDonald's. 1 star for decor and the grand canyon beer.

  • Frank K.

went twice, both times just for beers (they serve/sell grand canyon amber, which is fantastic and brewed next door). bad service. really bad. signs all over saying "wait to be seated'. stood there while numerous wait staff walked by without saying a word. finally just walked up to bar to get the beer, mentioned what happened the the bartender, who happened to be a junior manager. they were very nice but blamed it on the youth and poor quality of the staff (ie admitted that the help was bad). it was an interesting response...

Went with high expectation, but end up with major disappointment. Order the whole BBQ chicken and stake. The stake is well done like beef jerkey instead of medium well. The chicken is not chewable. The legs and wings are totally dry/cold and hard like a rock. This place is not cheap. Maybe they have enought business just to get the tourist. BTW our plate does not look like the next table at all. I think they also forgot the dinner roll on our plate. End up going to "Safeway" and grab some TV dinners and heat them up in the hotel.....

This restaurant get's 1 Star for their location and atmosphere. We had ordered one Pasta Alfredo and a Bacon Cheeseburger. The Bacon Cheeseburger was served with a dry(!) cucumber and some not really ready made fries (very chewy and undone) - the burger patty tasted like two days old. I have eaten the burger as I was really hungry but didn't touched the fries a second time. Pasta was really overcooked and nearly one huge piece of pasta, mashed pasta maybe? We had to order one Ceasar Salad as replacement for the pasta. We didn't received a Ceasar Salad it was some kind of... sorry, I can't describe it. Just some lettuce without anything even without any dressing. We tried to get our bill and had to wait nearly 20 minutes. The waitress didn't asked if the food was OK or if something was wrong with the food. Remember, all plates have been nearly untouched. "Want to take it home?" was the only question.

Fun place for dinner-we had burgers and steak with beer brewed on site.

So, I'm giving this place 2.5 stars. One point for the location, one for the service, and half a point for the live music that took place on the patio (it was too loud...I liked the music, but it would have been nice to be able to hear my server). I wasn't thrilled with my Brisket Sandwich, but then, what DOES one expect when going to a tourist-trap? The specifics on the sandwich: - the brisket was smoked, but was completely flavorless, save of the BBQ sauce that was drizzled over the top of it - at least the bun was soft and fresh - the seasoned curly fries were okay...probably the most flavorful part of my meal. I do love the fact that Cruiser's Cafe 66 pays homage to yesteryear. I'm definitely going to be trying other places the next time I'm in Williams.

We were in Williams for the Fall Festival and Cruisers looked like a cool spot to eat and it smelled great! Our server was a nice kid and attentive and got our order correct..But that is basics for any waiter. I got the Brisket Platter and the 3 girls got Burgers and Grand baby, a kids meal. The prices aren't cheap. But it was vacation so $12 for a burger was Ok.. It all tasted wonderful and portions were large. However upon getting the bill, the total for 4 people and a 3 yr old was crazy high. I didn't realize drinks no matter what or size where 2.99 even the kids drink that was tiny small and half apple juice and half water?! and they added in a 20% tip already!? T here were only 4 of us and a 2 yr old.. I have never been a bad tipper and tip well but if service isn't great I leave 12% and say why..that way the server has feed back on how to improve service and get better tips. Adding in the tip automatically? That is just wrong. Our waiter would have gotten a nice tip but, I am the Customer and its my discretion to tip according to my how my service was handled. And for this reason I probably will never eat there again.

My wife and I had lunch here today and shared the beef brisket dinner. More than enough food for both of us. The brisket was great and I love their BBQ sauce. Waitress was very pleasant. Oh, if you are a fan of onion rings, get them!!

    (4)
  • Nick F.

We hade an okay lunch here. They were out of the baby back ribs and the waiter steared me to the beef ribs. I wasn't too big of a fan. Other than that the service and food were good.

  • Lora G.

The food was fair at best, the service was slow, & the restaurant was not well cleaned.

    (2)
  • Matthew B.

Even for a classic grease dinner this was a little much. Food wasn't terrible, their ribs are HUGE (but when they taste like liquid smoke, size isn't a factor); My brisket was more fat then food. Service was slow, but friendly, my beer I ordered flat and a little warm, bathroom was clean though. So that's a plus. Maybe we caught them on a bad night.

  • Debra B.

The atmosphere was fun, my 2 stars are crediting the atmosphere and not the food Stopped here on the 4th of July with a family group. The BBQ was recommended by a local. Well the 5 of us had sandwiches and coffee. Coffee was decent from a Nescafé machine. The brisket sandwich was SO fatty & bland. We paid an extra dollar for sweet potato fries that were also tasteless. My husbands club sandwich was again less than ordinary, and our waitress recommended it as a best seller. The worst part was that the total bill was $105 for 5 people ordering sandwiches. Turns out an 18% gratuity had been automatically included. Our waitress did not inform us about the practice. So if you want mediocre food at a high price with an assumption you tip well - then this is your place. None of us cleaned our plates and that is a first!

    (2)
  • Alexandra R.

We were not impressed with the BBQ. But we are from the South so we're tough critics. But the ambiance was cute...and bathrooms were a hoot. Definitely get the homemade chili! It was awesome!

Food was over priced and service was super slow. My 3yo son fell through the historic decor yes the chair fell apart right under him. i don't think its one employees fault at how bad our experience was i think the facility as a whole is at fault. when i brought it to their attention that there seating was falling apart under people they did't seem like it was much of an issue at all. and never came and apologized or checked to see if the little one was ok. the food was not cooked to instructions we ordered a burger medium and it came well done we ordered a steak medium well and it looked like it was still mooing. we were there a minimum of 2 hours which is quite a long time for mostly burgers and fries and a steak. cleanliness was not a concern of the wait staff either. overall total disaster move on and try something different

We stayed in Williams during our visit to the Grand Canyon. We were also lured in by the nice aroma as mentioned by other reviwers. The service was super slow on a Monday night. We didn't get our appetizers (fried onion rings and soup) until half an hour later. It took about another hour to get our meal. The BBQ ribs and wings we ordered were not warm at all. Customers from the neighboring table were complaining about the slow service and poor quality of food (meat was too dry). I saw a few customers leave the place without eating due to the slow service. 18% tips were automatically added to the check... It was a bad dining experience, I would suggest not to go there. Not even worth one star.

Came here before riding the polar express train. We were a group of eight. Cute place pretty good service but the prices are ridiculous. I ordered the cheapest burger which was almost $11.00. It came on a dry bun and the meat was way over cooked and dry. Pretty much a joke The other meals looked better but all thought they were way over priced. When the checks came all three couples were over charged. The waitress said she was sorry and it was the computers fault. We are in Williams a lot but will definitely avoid this place and warn others

I visited this place on a recent trip to the Grand Canyon since we were staying in Williams. The atmosphere was great, with a nice patio area and a guy singing and playing guitar on the stage. The menu had a fairly nice variety of foods, with a good BBQ selection. I had the regular cheeseburger with fries, which was pretty big (1/2 lb I think). I really enjoyed my meal, especially since we'd just been on the road for 7 hours. My girlfriend tried the ribs, which were delicious. The meat was so tender it was falling off the bone. The prices were okay, maybe a little on the expensive side for what it is but I really enjoyed it. This was one of the more tourist-friendly places in Williams, so if you're taking a trip to the Grand Canyon sometime soon I would highly recommend this place. Also, check out the bathrooms when you go. Instead of doors on the stalls they have actual car and pick-up truck doors.

I left Williams thinking the Route 66 kitsch was tired and overdone. The restaurants and gift shops are holding onto that nostalgia like it's never going out of style though it already has. No other place in Williams is hanging on to that nostalgia more than Cruiser's.

    (2)
  • Vaughn E.

A fun place, filled with touristy Route 66 era decor. The aroma of barbeque on the front patio drew us in! The food was good. The cole slaw is incredible! And credit to the manager and the way she handled a small problem with one of our dishes. Great service always wins!

    (4)
  • Christina K.

Bad service and pricey average food. There are lots of other places to eat in Williams. Go elsewhere.

  • Kenneth Z.

A restaurant that has a very nice 50s diner concept. It is quite the beauty when you walk in. A nice BBQ restaurant with one BIG problem, the BBQ. Although the chicken and pulled pork were good, the brisket was undercooked, the beef ribs tasted like goat (which is not something to be proud of); and the pork ribs were really undercooked. And those beans were flat and oily. So in conclusion Cruiser Cafe is a place to cruise away from

    (2)
  • CA S.

While the atmosphere is fun and kitschy, the food is just ok. My daughter's mac and cheese was dry and flavorless. My BBQ chicken was fine, but not noteworthy. The service was mediocre. The menu says "no substitutions" with the BBQ meals, and they mean it so you'd better like corn, beans and coleslaw with your BBQ because that's what you're getting!

    (1)
  • Angela S.

Went here super hungry for the first thing available and weren't disappointed. Ordered a rib plate and iced tea and my mom ordered a pulled pork sandwich plate and a beer from Grand Canyon Brewery next door. Food was satisfying and exactly as expected, nothing bad but nothing outstanding. We sat inside with the front of the restaurant open as the weather was cool and wet, which was nice but the cleanliness of the restaurant left something to be desired. Funky bathroom set up. Overall you won't go wrong here, and it seemed great for groups with children.

  • Shelley C.

The outside of this place really drew us in. Very nostalgic and fun atmosphere...and that's where the best of this place stopped!! The FROZEN hamburger was flavorless other than the excess of salt and pepper. My little girls grilled cheese was crispy/grilled but the cheese wasn't melted. The micro brew beer was really the best of my experience here. Dont waste your money here, Wendy's is better.

    (2)
  • Lisa C.

Cute diner en route to the grand canyon. It's pretty kitsch inside with salt & pepper shakers in the shape of coca cola bottles, juke box etc and it's a pretty typical diner. The pulled pork sandwich was okay although a bit too sloppy for my liking, however I did manage to eat it all so go figure. The chili was pretty tasty but definitely order the small as this was plenty.

    (4)
  • Mary Ann O.

Cute little place on the streets of Williams. Nice patio, inviting fire in the grill, singer - songwriter at the mic. Then you get to the food and things go downhill. The only thing I would recommend are the burgers, the rest of the menu appears to be brought out of the freezer and nuked. Ribs were particularly bad. Not enough wait or cook staff the night we were there. They were working hard and pleasant, but overwhelmed.

    (2)
  • Jen M.

One of the worst meals both my husband and I have ever had! The ambiance seemed fun and festive but don't be mislead the food was awful! Terrible!!! My pulled pork sandwich tasted awful and I couldn't even finish it...hardly ate it! My husband's chicken fried steak taste like it has been frozen and thawed in a microwave. For the quality of food, it was crazy expensive! Do not, I repeat, do not eat here! My kids barely finished their chicken nuggets. The floor was absolutely filthy and sticky. Bathrooms dingy, booths falling a part. It should close!

  • J.C. M.

Decor is cool, but food is over priced for the quality and taste. Beer (IPA & Pale ale) was decent. Overall, the diner down the road at Twisters was much better.

    (2)
  • Stacey M.

Eh. My family went there for dinner because it looked fun from the outside..but upon entering I can say the establishment was dirty, the bathrooms had no doors (only cloth drapes) and the management was rude and not to mention little strange. Our waiter's twitchy mannerisms were like smeagol off of Lord of the Rings, and quite frankly, looked as though he was going to lunge for us at any moment. Food was forgettable. I recommend only for the dangerous thrill of dealing with the management.

    (2)
  • Michael C.

Nice atmosphere, terrible food. Everything I ate was Sysco frozen product. Save your money and go somewhere that has fresh, real food. Prices were equal to a top notch restaurant, food was worse than eating at a nursing home.

  • Russell B.

This place had poor service and the food wasn't all that great. My girlfriend and I waited no less than 15 min for someone to come take our drink orders and the bartender who saw us sitting at out table had to get our waitress. Also, out appetizers came out with out meals. This place felt more like a tourist trap than local food.

    (2)
  • David M.

We had dinner there tonight. Great music. Great family venue. Salad was outstanding as were the waiting staff. Meal portions are very generous. We shared a salad with grilled beef and one serve was just right for the two,of us. The locally brewed beers were great too. A great Saturday night crowd and highly recommended on our experience

  • Oliver K.

How does this hole get a #5 rating with only 3 stars? Indifferent service, mediocre food, surly bartender, and reheated BBQ cooked hours before? This local yokel hasn't darkened their doorstep in five years. Management has made it clear that they couldn't give a rat's hiney what locals want. It's all about fleecing the mighty tourist wallet. Nothing more. I felt ripped off the last time we ate here and we'll never return. Another tourist trap.

I liked this place! We stayed the night in Williams after visiting the Grand Canyon. We had our two dogs with us and we needed a dog friendly restaurant. This restaurant is on historic Route 66 and is in an old gas station. It is super dinery and retro. I have to say the menu is a bit limited if you are a vegetarian but I got by and liked what I ordered. My husband ordered a burger and liked it a lot. Obviously it isn't a gourmet restaurant but it isn't trying to be. It is fun and funky and there was even live music out on the patio. The best part is they serve beer from Grand Canyon Brewery. I definitely recommend this place as a fun place to eat in Williams.

    (4)

Good location and atmosphere. Mediocre food, value and service. Next time I'll just bypass this town and eat in Phoenix, or Flagstaff.

    (2)
  • Kelley W.

Only one star because I can't give a zero. Food and service horrible. Signature dishes not available. Long wait after ordering only to be told items weren't available. Excuses varied - kitchen staff quit, cook broke finger. Thank goodness food was cold because a serving of beans landed in my friend's lap. Tourist trap. Recommend you just buy a beer and listen to the music on the patio. The only positive was the live music.

didnt have computer on me or could have checked this place, tons of tourists outside among the flies, ate inside, ribeye was good on 1 /2 , mostly fat on other rib tips was the toughest piece of meat I ever had,. well i guess the pork end in santa fe the cook said was not good enough for dog might have been worse! salad for 4.95 was small small small go to robs steakhouse ( if open!) williams is a tourist trap, we were just driving back to a beautiful state and flagstaff was all booked up there is a cute cemetery (yeah I know) at west of town, perhaps previoous diners are buried there!

  • Ricardo O.

This was recommended by locals as having great food. It was awful! The burgers were overcooked and the fries did not taste fresh At almost $10 per burger (yes $10, not cheap) I was expecting better. We order malts when we order our burgers, but they were not prepared until we had finished our burgers! They were good but too late. Services was terrible and they charged us an 18% mandatory gratuity. Bottom line go to the gift shop, avoid the restaurant.

We were passing through this sleepy little town called Williams, AZ after visiting the Grand Canyon and we walked by this cheesy looking diner called Cruiser's Cafe 66. What stopped us in our tracks was the aroma of BBQ beef ribs on the grill. We followed the scent and saw someone cooking these dee-lish-ous smelling ribs on the grill outside! Best marketing ever!! We ended up ordering a full rack of the ribs, which came with corn on the cob, baked beans, cole slaw and toast. We also got a lb. of the spicy buffalo wings. All I can say is DAY-UM! The ribs were sweet, tender and juicy and fell off the bone. The wings were spicy yet satisfying. At the risk of revealing too much info, sometimes when I eat spicy, it's more fun going in than coming out, if you know what I mean. Well, not with these wings, even though they were spicier than, uh, Geri Halliwell dipped in Tapatio? As for the sides, corn on the cob was what you would expect it to be. The beans were surprisingly good, based on what they looked like and what most places usually serve up as beans. The toast was a'aight. Cole slaw was bleh. Bottom line: if you are in the area and looking for some good ole down home BBQ and grill, look no further than Cruisers Cafe 66.

Terrible, terrible, terrible. I normally love independent diners and the shitty cheap greasy food that they have. This place is worse than denny's and twice the price. I had a burger which was $11. I asked for it medium rare and it came out fully cooked. As soon as i took a bite I knew why they couldn't cook it how I had asked. They use pre-packaged frozen patties, which you can always tell from the god awful aftertaste. It was literally the worst burger i have ever eaten. My boyfriend had the beef brisket sandwich, which he said was super bland and if it hadn't been for the bbq sauce it wouldn't have tasted like anything. Also, it's NOT a good thing that your food comes out 5 minutes after you order it people, do you really think they had time to do anything other than throw it in the microwave?

This place was hopping on Saturday night. After a long day at the Grand Canyon, all I wanted was a hot meal and a drink. After waiting for a table for about 10 minutes, which wasn't bad, we were seated up near the bar. We placed our drink orders, but the one that I really wanted was out. How can that be? They pride themselves on offering the Grand Canyon Brewing Company on tap and then I try to order two different ones and they are both out? Supply and demand, people. If you are going to reel in customers by saying that you are the only restaurant in town that offers the Grand Canyon Brewing Company beer, then serve it. Don't run out. Our waiter was underage so someone else had to bring them to our table...fine. Next was the food. I ordered a BBQ plate...ribs with baked beans, corn on the cob and coleslaw. The ribs were fatty and dry, the bbq sauce was thin, the baked beans were just like kidney beans swimming in tasteless thin water and the corn was overcooked, so very chewy. The coleslaw was the only thing that did not have an immense flaw. Pass on this place and go to Rod's instead.

The food and atmosphere was great! What a cool spot to visit on vacation. Our server was very helpful and friendly. The Arizona Matchsticks were delicious. This place is great for kids.

I actually had the best service at the bar here. All the other bars in town weren't very fun or friendly to go to. I love their local brews, and the fact that you can get a glass jug full of your favorite beer and take it home. Pour fresh, out of the keg right in front of your eyes. Can't beat that! Also, they have strong, cheap drinks.

Good place to have dinner in Williams.. Nice music... lively crowd.... the food was great.. steaks are well cooked.. we were a group of 6 and all of us loved the food.. sitting outside the restaurant is good as you get to see the activity on the road during the night :-)...

  • Lynette M.

I couldn't give this a zero...Worst hamburger I have ever had. Tasted like pre-cooked hamburgers kept warm under heat lamp. You would think that for $9.95 for a cheeseburger it would be freshly cooked. Will never go back there!

  • Abdelhamid D.

This place is really great!! We went there only once, because we wanted to try other places before we left the town. We ordered beef brisket and a whole BBQ'd chicken. The food was fairly fast coming out. The side of beans was great but a bit too watery. The side of coleslaw was okay. But the beef and chicken were possibly the best Ive ever had. So tender, juicy, and delicious! I give it 4 stars and not 5, because the sides aren't that great, and its too gimmicky...

This place is pretty decent. The service is quick. The only thing I'm going to complain about is that the waiteress that we had didn't know the stock of things they had. The food is decent. I'm from the one and only bay area, so my expectations are pretty high. This food was good, my chicken burger was tender, but my sweet potato fries didn't have that sweet potato taste. It taste like eating just a crispy starchy thing. Their shakes were thick, but weren't bursting with the ice cream flavor. This place is the place to come in this small town.

Because of Yelp, we decided that this was the place to go for dinner for my birthday. So we trekked there (short walk) from our hotel and the place was closed! We were starving and ended up going to another place but there was a sign on the door that said "we are closed for the winter and will reopen on FEBRUARY 1st". Considering that it was February 4th, I was slightly confused. Then later after dinner at our restaurant with no alcohol I told my wife I was going to the Grand Canyon Brewing Company and it turned out to be the same location! Double Whammy. I ended up buying a six pack of Blue Moon- I mean Coors and drank my sorrows away.

The BBQ ribs are absolutely fabulous, made to order fresh on a wood fired BBQ. They also have home brewed beer (Grand Canyon Brewery) which is great. Love to come here. Love the atmosphere. The men's restroom stalls are made of old car doors :-). If you purchase something in any of the other stores in Williams you should check if you get a 10% off coupon for Cruiser's 66.

I'm not really sure what restaurant these other reviewers ate at, but Cruisers Cafe 66 is FAR from a 5, 4 or even 3 star restaurant. We only ate at this place because of these Yelp reviews, and now I am certain that they were posted by the owner. Cruisers is nothing more than a ridiculously overpriced Johnny Rockets. Calling this place a steakhouse is a joke - it is a diner at best. And the food is befitting of a diner except for the prices. Most entrees were between $15 and $20. I ordered onion rings with my steak and they "could not do that". So I ordered a side of the onion rings for $7.95 - yes, $7.95. They were not the battered onion rings in the picture on the menu, but frozen breaded onion rings from Safeway. They were horrible. Luckily there were only 8 of them. $1 per onion ring. Our waitress was doing double duty as the bartender so we didnt see her too often. When we did, it was at my request to replace my dirty steaknife with the big chunk of someone else's dinner still attached. No apology, no explanation. Sure, they had a fire burning outside in an old grill, but our steaks were definately not cooked on it. They came out of the kitchen like everything else. That fire burned out front for effect, not for cooking like they said it was. My father-in-laws salmon was not good, but I have to put that one on him. You dont order fish in Williams, AZ at a place called Cruisers Cafe 66. My ribeye steak was not too bad, which is why I am giving this place 2 stars instead of 1. My mother-in-law also said her steak was OK, and my wife was happy with her chili cheeseburger. All in all, this place has a cheesy atmosphere, below average food and service and way too high prices for a town like Williams, AZ. We did not eat at any other places in town, but there were several other options, and I have to assume that any one of them would be better than this place.

yeah, it is a Tourist trap, but not too shabby nevertheless. Not great, but better than I expected. Don't expect too much and you should be fine.

Was seated right away. Server was a nice lady that was attentive. Had the pulled pork was sandwich which was yummy, the bun got soggy very quickly. The coleslaw was very bland and the fries were ok. Had their raspberry brew which was ok, nothing special. Ladies- the bathroom has shower curtains as stall doors! Actually one curtain that they cut into two, so there is no full door leaving a 2 inch gap on each side of the "door" which lets everyone see your business. So I passed on using the bathroom.

If you visit the Grand Canyon (which is just amazing), you should try this place out. It's in a city called Williams that is just in the middle of absolutely nowhere. But this city is actually pretty busy for a city in the middle of nowhere! There is a bbq dish that is meant to be eaten by an entire football team (which is a shame because it was just my girlfriend and me, and neither of us can really put it away). So putting forth our absolute best effort, we ate about 40% of the meal. The rest, sadly, wasted. But the bbq is very tasty, more so the ribs than the chicken, and the place looks like the restaurant from the Happy Days on acid. Guys, one warning about the restroom. And I swear this is true. I went to the restroom to release some of the excess beer, and I noticed these knees sticking out to my left. The "stall" had hardly a single little wall! The guy doing his business next to me was FAR TOO VISIBLE. Good Lord! I never forced myself to pee so hard and so fast - I could not get out of there quick enough. Don't believe me? Go to this restaurant, drink too many beers, and find out for yourself. Oh yeah, the food was really good. And besides, in this middle of nowhere town, you don't have a lot of choices...

Got there around 7:30 on a weeknight. Not busy. Got seated up near the bar and handed menus. After looking over the extremely limited menu options, we selected a few dishes and waited for a server... and waited... and waited,,, and then my husband got ready to get up and find someone. The waiter came up and said 'uh no one got you?' My husband ordered the pulled pork sandwich (over 10.00) and I just got some chowder. Ordered a cup, got billed for a bowl. Yucky! The pulled pork was great! The flavor from the mesquite bbq really made a difference. Unfortunately he only got about a 1/4 of a cup of pulled pork on the roll. Really skimpy order but the flavor made up for it. Also the cole slaw was great. Crisp, just enough sweet yummy! We had to go find our waiter again though to get our check. Wouldn't eat there again though I would look for mesquite bbq from now on!

Im not going to get into the details on this place, the food was bad, the service was horrible. Management had a horrible attitude. Eat someplace else

The pulled pork sandwich was very good. The grand canyon brewery serves their beer there. You can walk around the side of the restaurant and take a little self guided glance into the brewery since it is right behind the restaurant. The beer and food were both very good, but the service was kind of slow. Just make sure you get there before the nightly wild west shoot out ends otherwise you will never get a seat.

We stopped in around 9pm for dessert. When we approached the hostess stand there was a girl (Nacy) rolling silverware in napkins with her back facing the hostess stand. We stood there for a while before she decided to turn to say "May I help you?" as if she were doing us a favor by acknowledging our presence. No smile, no how are you this evening, or even a hello! We asked if we could just have dessert, she said it was a 20 minute wait, just then we were interrupted by another server who asked her why she was not seating people? In a very irritated, sassy tone said that the kitchen was full. She then turned back and said if we gave her our order there at the hostess stand we could have dessert. We ordered a Lava cake and she asked us what kind of ice cream we would like because the lava cake came with ice cream. We told her vanilla and she proceeded to seat us. She disappeared into the back of the restaurant, then reappeared, then walked back to the hostess stand to seat a couple that was sitting there when we arrived. After holding menus to give the the couple she just sat, she walked over to the fountain where the desserts are made. She reached into an under cabinet reefer and pulled out a container where she grabbed our cold lava cake with her bare hands without washing them. YIKES! Talk about food handling no no!!! Does this restaurant train their people about sanitation??? She then told another girl to finish our order and put ice cream on it. The other girl said it didn't come with ice cream and she turned to walk back to the table when I told her to JUST PUT ICE CREAM ON IT! Needless to say we were charged $3.50 for a scoop of ice cream that supposedly came with the cake! We finished our dessert was never even offered water or asked if we wanted something to drink! LOLA, on the other hand was very pleasant, sweet and gracious enough to bring us some water after we were all finished. Nancy then walk up to our table and said "So will you be paying cash?". I gave her a $20 and she brought our change back and put it on the table with the receipt! Nancy did not even put our bill or the change on a check-fold! I've been in the service industry for 15 years and never have I experienced such bad service. Nancy needs an attitude adjustment and seriously retrained!!!! You can have the best food in your restaurant but if your service sucks you may as well be slinging hash!

The patio is awesome, the music on Friday night was enjoyable & the food was good too. I will steal the coleslaw recipe, it was excellent. This is good small town food.

The food was good. I had the grilled cheese, and my mother had a burger. The chocolate milkshake and seasoned fries were the best part. And while the food was decent, the waitress was a little moody and stomped around. And the musician playing outside on the patio was too loud for us.

We went to this restaurant twice. We only had one meal. That meal was delicious. The home brew was just as good. I'm down grading them because of the missed meal. Let me tell you our story. Walking down the street in Williams we saw this Hispanic gentleman in an outrageously large foam hat. He was grilling the best looking chicken and ribs I had seen in some time. We decided to eat here. My wife approached the woman at the gate and asked if there was seating outside (big outside seating area, smaller inside). The woman said "no". Not "we'll have an opening in 20 min" or even "not at this time but we do have inside seating". Just a flat out no. Then they stared at each other for much to long. I was ready to leave but my wife had her mind on that chicken. So she asked if there was seating inside and the lady said yes and lead us to our seats. There were 4 tables in this area. Only 1 table had drinks. As we waited to be served we started chatting with one of the tables next to us. They had been there over 20 minutes and hadn't seen a waiter. We made some jokes, when someone who looked like a waiter passed by. We all shouted and he came over. The other table placed their order, meal and drinks. He started to walk past us and I caught him and got him to take our order, meal and drinks. By this time we had been there 10 min or so. The table behind us complained that they had been there for 40 minutes and still hadn't gotten their drinks, much less their food. The waiter seemed to not hear them and walked away. After 10 more minutes that table of 4 got up and left. 20 minutes later and we hadn't seen a drink. The table across from us got their food. One out of 4 orders was wrong. The food looked delicious. The server promised to correct the order and get right back. The table next to us waited another 10 minutes and got up and walked out. The gentleman who hadn't gotten the right order was still waiting. Everyone else at his table finished their meals, raved about how good it was, but he still hadn't had a bite. He asked several passing servers about his order but none stopped to talk. He started to get louder and finally someone said they would send a manager over. 10 more minutes and I was fed up. We got up and walked out, no drinks and no sign of food anywhere. As we stood in front looking for somewhere else to eat we saw the man who didn't get his food yelling at the staff in front of the restaurant. Insanely the next day my wife still wants to eat that chicken. I agree to give them another chance. This time we're earlier and seated outside. It's an entirely different world out here. Live music, attentive wait staff. I had several of their excellent pilsners before dinner, and several with it. The food was first rate. My wife tasted my ribs and thought they were the best she ever had. I thought they were excellent, not quite the best, but not far off. Great food and great service. Her chicken was everything she imagined it would be. Moist, tender, delicious. When I told my story to our waiter he said the owners and 3 young guys and they don't have anyone in charge at night. So the staff don't like to go inside where it's hot. Shame. If it wasn't that their clients are mostly tourists that aren't around long their poor service would put them out of business. It's a shame when the food is so darn good. I hope they get their act together and turn the service around. The food is worthy of praise, their service can be the worst I've ever seen. Or the not, lol. Good luck.

We stopped through Williams for lunch on the way back from the Grand Canyon. Searching through Yelp and Trip Advisor, it didn't really seem there was anything around that was cheap and good. I guess it is primarily tourists that eat at the restaurants, and the downtown area is really a charming tourist trap. We walked by Cruiser's and loved the Route 66 decor so we decided to take a look. We got the BBQ Family Platter for about $55 (listed as serving 2-4), and it was more than enough for our entire family of 2 adults and 3 kids. We had about 1/2 as leftovers. The platter consists of a generous heaping of 2 kinds of ribs, a 1/2 chicken, and brisket. It was really delicious except the brisket was overcooked and dry, hence only 4 stars. The cook admitted it was overcooked. The cole slaw in particular was really great, with fresh apples and walnuts. The waitress was very friendly, helpful, and attentive. Overall, we were really happy with our lunch. I would eat here again.

This is the cutest place in town. They've got the 50's music playing, all the route 66 memorabilia and diner food. They made me a grilled vegi sandwich and chocolate milkshake. Everyone enjoyed burgers & fries on the patio. Think "Cars" the movie. Too cute.

Stopped in here for lunch on Sunday. It was really busy with a lot of families in pretty large groups. Most in town for the Polar Express ride that evening. Service was good but it took a bit for food to come. I had BBQ pork and my partner had the BBQ chicken. Both of us were extremely pleased - sauce was tasty and both meats juicy. While eating surprised to see wood being added to the grill out front. Have fountain service and carry the local beer. Hope to get in here again before we leave town.

Man...I'm not sure what this place did to piss so many people off, but I think it's great! Classic Americana style diner. I come from the land of microbreweries (San Diego) so I'm very judgemental when it comes to microbrews, but I have to say bravo to Grand Canyon Brewing Company. If you're an IPA person like I am, try the Black Mountain IPA. Very impressive taste. I also tried the Sunset Amber and the White Water Wheat, both delicious taste as well. Now on to the food, I had the beef ribs and they were giant and super good. I got filled up pretty fast but I made sure to try everything on my plate. The beans were good, good coleslaw, good corn (it's hard to screw up corn, I know, but had to mention it.) I would recommend this place to anyone. My only gripe, and the ONLY reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5, is they have a little bit of a fly problem outside. It's not a big deal for me personally, but I could see how some big city types could be a little bothered by it, so there you have it. Our service was excellent, food came in decent time, our server (Brett) was clearly on his game and very knowledgable about the food and the microbrew. Last thing, I can't say enough about the beer. Don't miss out on this place, it's awesome.

We went for breakfast and sat at the counter. The waitress did her level best to ignore us for fifteen minutes. The food was palatable but nothing to write about really. Of course, smoking is everywhere in AZ and watching your cook take a smoke break outside and return to the kitchen to cook your eggs is always a good way to want to begin that diet you've always being talking about.

This is a fun place. The food portions are generous and flavorable. This is a touristy spot so you shouldn't expect gourmet. There is outdoor and indoor seating. Outdoors you can listen to a singer after the sun goes down. Decorations are "Route 66"...... Service is attentive but a little slow. A good place to go and just enjoy the atmosphere and scenery.

Sure, it looks cute and roadside route 66 from the outside, but not worth it. Food was okay, service was beyond terrible. "Joe" took our order and returned almost an hour later with the wrong food. We watched others around us order, receive their food, pay their checks and leave while we waited and waited and waited. No apologies and lots of attitude. Wish we'd read reviews before we went. Don't bother with this one.

Amazing bbq in the middle of no where. If you're going to the grand canyon this is the place to stop by. They have good food, really good service and their decor is very unique. We ended up having lunch there the next day too because it was the best place around.

before my trip i looked into reviews to see where to eat. this place did not show up. however as my bf and i walked down the street he saw it..just because they were playing loud music. so we decided to try it but not till the next day. there were quiet a few customers when we showed up. we waited at the door for what seemed to be an eternity (a few minutes) to be seated. finally a dude showed up. i call him a dude because he looked like an OC surfer. so i ordered a burger, well done. i told the girl no pickle and she said but its on the side and again i said no pickle, and she said well its not on the burger. that got me annoyed. well i ended up not getting the pickle on my plate. the fries were good, they have steak fries or seasoned fries. my bf ordered chicken fried steak. he said that it was really good and it actually did look yummy. he also got one of their brews, the winter one. it was really light didn't taste much like beer. we paid about $20. we then went again on new years eve because this was one of the few places open late and because we had been there before. this time we didn't wait too long for our seats but.......again i got the burger ( I'm a burger fan!) but we got an appetizer which was chili cheese fries. the chili seemed to be real lol. it had whole beans and real beef. it was good. my bf got a bowl of chilly. he liked it. he also got raspberry beer which is the restaurants brew. it was really good! didn't taste like beer. the food was good but our waiter was soo weird and dorky and he forgot about us for a while. we waited for him to come check up on us and bring us the check. there were not many people there. also there was this really loud Mexican. i guess he was on the phone but it seemed like he was screaming to someone across a mountain or something, he was really annoying. this time we paid $23 or so. we stayed at the restaurant till like 11pm. the side of the restaurant has a lil mini shop to buy the typical souvenirs and coke stuff as well as stupid/funny signs. the back of the restaurant is connect or has a brewery. i didn't go back so i don't know whats the deal with that. the front has some old classical cars that look nice.

my friends and i stopped in this cute little town on our way to and from grand canyon. on our way back to vegas, we stopped by here for dinner. the place is cute, your typical diner with all the decor. however, the food isn't anything amazing, i only ate half of my burger and some fries b.c i just wasn't feeling it. our orders weren't completely correct (mind you about three maybe four tables were being served in the entire joint), and my friend ana's meal was brought out much later b.c the cook didn't see it. ana had a salad on the house while she was waiting, so that was nice. fast forward to the end of the meal and i go to the bathroom. first of all, i notice that they use drapes for their doors, so people can get a sneak peek at your business while you're going either number one or two, or what-have-you. second, i almost walk into the first stall, but quickly turn to go to the second one b.c there's a huge ass pile of $*@& in the toilet. please clean the bathrooms!!!

Great little family diner. Made a reservation in order to accommodate a party of 9. We let the server know immediately it would be two tabs. The food was actually quite good. The French dip was excellent. The only thing that was disappointing was that for a brewery, our server did tell us about the beer flights. And we needed to inquire about the beers etc. they added a 18% tip and of course didn't mention it to us. Glad we caught it though.

We had a great time food was great and atmosphere could not have been better! Live Music on the patio dining. Home brewed beer. Make it a stop when in Williams!

Keep cruising past this place and find the brewery up the side street. The restaurant's service turned me off from the start. But in a nutshell, any place that serves the entree before the initially ordered beer will lose 3 stars. One star goes to the actual food, which was edible, and the second star for a nice ambience.

    (1)

    (1)
  • Melissa P.

Sigh.

  • Mike H.

Went in with my buddy, sat down, made eye contact with waitress six times (she smiled) and left after ten minutes. No water, no menu, no service whatsoever. We were hungry so we went to another place down the street. Won't be back. The place wasn't busy when we were there, just an apathetic staff.

We went really late on a saturday night...... the food was so-so but the thing that concerned us was how sticky the floor was. We guessed it was a busy day and maybe something got dropped on it earlier but the floor almost kept my shoes. Besides that the staff was great and always made sure we had everything we needed.

It was decent. Had a hamburger which was tasty and done medium to my request. The star of the meal, though, was the Grand Canyon Brewery beer. It was outstanding. The food was okay, the service was very good, and the beer was excellent.

Terrible. I got the brisket plate. There was more fat than meat, the slaw was warm and wilted and the beans were soup with as many carrots and celery as beans. I hope I don't get food poisoning. Gave it one star because there is not the option for -5.

We had a party of six, after 5, gratuity is auto added. So service was pretty non existent. Burger was dry. Fries were cold when brought out. Kids menu is overpriced. Ignored a recommendation to stay away. Big mistake. Your better off at McDonald's. 1 star for decor and the grand canyon beer.

went twice, both times just for beers (they serve/sell grand canyon amber, which is fantastic and brewed next door). bad service. really bad. signs all over saying "wait to be seated'. stood there while numerous wait staff walked by without saying a word. finally just walked up to bar to get the beer, mentioned what happened the the bartender, who happened to be a junior manager. they were very nice but blamed it on the youth and poor quality of the staff (ie admitted that the help was bad). it was an interesting response...

We were not impressed with the BBQ. But we are from the South so we're tough critics. But the ambiance was cute...and bathrooms were a hoot. Definitely get the homemade chili! It was awesome!

A fun place, filled with touristy Route 66 era decor. The aroma of barbeque on the front patio drew us in! The food was good. The cole slaw is incredible! And credit to the manager and the way she handled a small problem with one of our dishes. Great service always wins!

Decor is cool, but food is over priced for the quality and taste. Beer (IPA & Pale ale) was decent. Overall, the diner down the road at Twisters was much better.

Nice atmosphere, terrible food. Everything I ate was Sysco frozen product. Save your money and go somewhere that has fresh, real food. Prices were equal to a top notch restaurant, food was worse than eating at a nursing home.

This place had poor service and the food wasn't all that great. My girlfriend and I waited no less than 15 min for someone to come take our drink orders and the bartender who saw us sitting at out table had to get our waitress. Also, out appetizers came out with out meals. This place felt more like a tourist trap than local food.

This place is pretty decent. The service is quick. The only thing I'm going to complain about is that the waiteress that we had didn't know the stock of things they had. The food is decent. I'm from the one and only bay area, so my expectations are pretty high. This food was good, my chicken burger was tender, but my sweet potato fries didn't have that sweet potato taste. It taste like eating just a crispy starchy thing. Their shakes were thick, but weren't bursting with the ice cream flavor. This place is the place to come in this small town.

Damn good hearty food. Unpretentious service. Drawbacks? For this small of a town, this place is awesome!!!

The best thing about this place was our server, BarB (what a character!) and the beer. Food was not incredible but it did the job.

This place was just getting ready for the summer season. They were painting inside and out. We had ice cream, the decore is route 66.
