I was really confused on the concept of this place by just reading their name while driving, but I was glad I took a shot. Their fried rice is one of the best I've had. Their wings are also quite good, but not quite my favorite. That honor goes to Wings Over Broadway. This place has some unique stuff, so I recommend it if you're looking for something familiar but different. The service was slow the two times I've been here with having to wait 20+ minutes each time, otherwise it would have gotten 5 stars.

A disclaimer: I have never had the wings or the rice. What I HAVE had is the horseshoe, a local specialty from my hometown (Springfield, IL) that is inexplicably available here. From what I gather the owner saw it on TV; if you haven't, it's an open-faced sandwich with meat, french fries, and cheese sauce slathered over Texas toast. Like everything here--my wife, alas, isn't from Springfield, so I've seen their other offerings--it will take a little while to arrive and, once it does, will be far more food than you bargained for. Which isn't a bad thing. If you're from Springfield, too, be prepared for one compromise: They use something much closer to nacho cheese than cheese sauce. But when you live 20 hours away, you take what you can get. Quiet, pleasant atmosphere, huge portions, a nice patio, and--I guess--wings and rice. Not a bad deal all-around.

What a wonderful reminder of what it was like growing up in Los Angeles. Wings & Rice represents the quintessential neighborhood eatery, reminiscent of the fried chicken shops that were once all over Los Angeles. You will still find them there. The restaurant is fairly compact -- about one dozen tables, with a patio that is pet friendly. There is one table I noticed that is offered for reservations. Also, there is a single television set, which was tuned to sports. I get the sense that the owners are die hard Arizona fans, and it doesn't matter the team. The Wildcats, the Cardinals and the Suns each had prominent display. There is also a wall in recognition of those in military service. It takes about 15-20 minutes to get an order, and the restaurant seems to keep a steady stream of patrons. Seems lots of folks call in their orders as well. It is important to know that while wings and rice are, indeed, the popular menu items, the restaurant offers a pretty extensive menu: katsu, cheesesteaks, burgers, smothered fries, and more. They even have butterfly shrimp. They also have ice cream and sell Coke products. I went with a combo that came with wings and rice, which was topped with a Japanese sauce and served with a side salad. Hearty and delicious! Perfect picnic food! Other things to know: Lunch specials run 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and include a drink, fried rice topped with Japanese white sauce. You can get chicken wings, strips, a hamburger basket or a Philly cheesesteak. They have daily combos served all day, which will run between $10 and $14. Their platters include BBQ pulled pork nachos, a veggie platter and teriyaki chicken. They also have sandwiches - Parmesan chicken, crispy chicken and burgers. Their sides are varied - celery and carrot sticks, cole slaw, stir-fry vegetables, steamed rice, cheese fries and more. As for the wings, you get a lot of choices: buffalo, teriyaki, cajun, Italian, orange, ginger soy, lemon pepper, honey mustard - tons of options there. They also have meal deals with 30 or 50 wings, which comes with baskets of fries and celery and carrots. There is a fried rice special for $6 on Mondays and Thursdays. Bonus: Free WIFI.

This place has really good food BUT fail to mention that they are not dog friendly. They have an outside patio and their cashier berates customers for having their dogs out there even when the owners are sure to clean up after them. I feel like they should put up a sign if they do not want dogs outside, instead of being passive aggressive towards customers. I will not be returning here if this is how they treat their customers when the business fails to inform us that our dogs are not welcome.

Alright so this place is just a gem on TUESDAY 60 CENT WING NIGHTS!!! Make sure you get the spicy garlic parmesan wings and the japanese rice with the special/secret sauce!! The sauce is crucial and key for this experience. While the rice in and of itself is pretty good, the sauce(hibatchi) takes it up to a new level. I even requested to have an extra sauce for the sheer massive quantity of rice which came with my meal. The tangy and zesty flavor goes so well with the rice, it like tastebuds exploding in your mouth! Now for the wings, I had ordered the spicy garlic parm and the cajun dry rub flavors. While I was not too impressed with the cajun wings, which lacked flavor and had the spices barely added to the actual wings, the spicy garlic parmesan were excellent! Make sure that you don't order the normal garlic parmesan wings as they were a let down for the other people in my company that evening. The spiciness masks this weakness and definitely is the kicker for these wings. Moreover, the service was great and did not make a single error even though we probably ordered over 150 wings total that evening from 10+ flavors on the menu! Overall, nestled in the heart of a quaint area of Tucson, I was pretty impressed and will return on Tuesdays as time permits!

I've passed this place for a few years and always thought to myself, "Hmmm, weird." Then my daughter A told me she and her coworkers picked up lunch recently and they thought it was really good. Still I thought to myself, "Hmmm, weird." Ran an errand and was on my way back to work and thinking of my incredibly unappetizing lunch of brown rice and lentils waiting for me in the fridge in the office. Heading north on Craycroft approaching Pima...should I stop? No. Eat what you brought to work. But it's gross. Just eat it and save yourself a few bucks. But....SWERVE to the right and in to the parking lot I pull. I was incredibly overwhelmed with the menu and all the pictures of the food on the wall. Holy Kalbi, Philly Cheesesteak, Chicken Parm Sandwich, Wings, Rice and Calamari!!! Finally settled on a lunch combo of 5 spicy orange boneless wings and fried rice with some crazy, weird sauce on it, a side salad and a fountain drink. Brought it back to work, opened it and actually said out loud, "Holy crap that's a lot of food!" The boneless wings are tender but lacked much spice OR orange flavor. The fried rice though....oh the fried rice. It's delicious like no other fried rice I've ever had. The salad was far from exciting; some shredded iceberg lettuce, perhaps a few carrot shreds and some kind of salad dressing on it. The salad was way below average. This huge lunch will now be lunch and dinner. The staff members I encountered today were extremely nice and friendly. Warren, Rose and I chatted while I waited for my food to be prepared. Really friendly and warm. Warren tells me they are popular with the good folks at DM so you'll likely see a few airmen when you're there. There is even a board near the back of the dining room with pictures of their military customers. Nice little tribute they've got going on. There is plenty of seating indoors and a decent sized patio that would be ideal for enjoying lunch on this gorgeous day. But I'm eating here at work...in front of my computer...not actually working....telling you about my experience.

The staff is extremely friendly, I got an order wrong and they completely took care of it giving them 5 stars. Their wings are alright but not the best although I do love their salad and fried rice. There is free wifi and the place is cute and cozy. A great location to hang out with friends. The specials are pretty good deals and the combos have exactly what I want depending on whether or not I want more rice or more wings that day. The rice has the most delicious creamt sauce I have ever tasted as well as a great chewy texture. The salad has a ginger dressing that is light and flavorful. I'm glad that I came everytime. Although the takeout is not great. Once you leave the store it is not as good since the wings get soggy and lack the crispness that it had initially. I love it here and the atmosphere is so inviting I will definitely be back.

I've only had the chicken fried rice in all the times that I've come. If you love something it's hard to try something else. It's different then other fried rices. It's covered in cheese and their special Japanese sauce. Makes my mouth water just waiting for it. They have a diverse menu. Japanese food, sandwiches, wraps and so much more. The staff is always friendly and it's really clean. You must stop in and try this place. Everyone that has gone with me are now repeat customers. Of course I will tell you to try the chicken fried rice and the salad that comes with it has the yummiest dressing. Great prices and large portions.

After a long hike with our dogs we decided to stop by wings & rice for lunch. Never in my life have I ever receive such shitty customer service. Before I could ever order the cashier taking my order felt the need to express how she felt about my dogs being on the patio outside. She started off being say I had too many dogs ( I have 3 small dogs) to top it off she felt they need to mention that I need to take care of my dogs, and she doesn't feel the need to pick up after my dogs. Which was very strange to me because I would never assume that she would in the first place, who is she to tell me I have too many dogs. From what I understand wings & rice is a pet friendly restaurant, due to the fact that they have tables outside, if I would of known that my dogs wasn't welcomed I wouldn't have came.

Checked out this place for lunch. Very friendly service. I got the chicken fried rice, 5 Louisianan wings, 5 dragons breath wings. Starting with the chicken fried rice, it was delicious. Nicely cooked rice. The social sauce is a light mayonnaise based sauce that compliments the dish really well. You can get it on the side. The chicken was cut in cubes and grilled and placed on top of the rice. The chicken was cooked perfectly. I'd say any chicken fried rice should have chicken like this. I agree, the best chicken fried rice in Tucson. On to the wings. The Louisianan was one I'll have to get again. Honey coating over pepper. Very crispy. The dragons breath has habanero and is very spicy. Legit spice. Trust me, this is pretty spicy. It's great. So definitely recommended.

Went here about a month ago and had wings and fried rice. If concur with all of the good reviews about the food. Fresh, flavorful and unique. I could definitely see how this place may not appeal to everyone but if you like to eat like I do, there is a good chance you'll like to eat here!

Love this place! We receive great customer service every time we dine in or get take-out. Everyone has their personal preference on what flavor is the best, but mine is definitely the Spicy Italian. My boyfriend told me I should order it the first time I went there. I was thinking it was going to be like a spicy marinara sauce or something....so I passed and ordered the lemon pepper and something else. I thought they were pretty good...until I tried his! I knew instantly that I had made a huge mistake! Luckily for me, he was nice and we shared haha. But now every time we go, the only flavor we ever order is Spicy Italian! The wings are always perfectly cooked. They are never dry like at some places. And never undercooked... always nice and juicy! :) I have tried other flavors that my friends have ordered. They are all good. But by far SPICY ITALIAN is still my fave! LOL...it is actually more like dynamite sauce (the kind on sushi rolls). It is also similar to the sauce they put on their fried rice. That reminds me...I love their fried rice, but they make theirs differently than most places. It has good "wok flavor" which many places never achieve. :) However, they put a dynamite-like sauce on top, plus it has lots of minced carrots as my friend who hates dynamite sauce AND carrots found out the hard way! So if you are like my my friend, you might ask that they hold the sauce and carrots. ;) The only thing I am not a fan of, is their French fries. :P

This is the kind of place that I could see myself eating at a few times a month if I was in college. Its the kind of restaurant that isn't classy, but it isn't horrible either. It has that right amount of good to make you like it and want it every once and a while. A fusion of American dishes, with Korean and Japanese options as well. Wings & Rice is a Tucson place that is known for its rice and wings of course! The rice is unique because it has a special sauce that you probably cannot find anywhere else. The chicken ranges in a variety of flavors either in wing or boneless form. When I came here I ordered Chicken Katsu along with 5 spicy garlic wings. The katsu was good, but the sauce on top of it is a weird pink/orange color that I was a little confused about. Where is the typical brown sauce I'm used to? I cannot describe the flavor of it, but it was actually a good paring. Prices are fair and combos are a good deal as well. Reminds me of my days when I used to frequent L&L in Hawaii. I saw a few Hawaiian pictures on the wall as well so maybe that's where the influence is from or the owner used to live there? Not sure, but I recommend this to those who want to try a little Tucson uniqueness.

I usually order the Chicken Katsu combo with 5 wings and white rice. I love that they have different flavours to choose from (from Teriyaki to Garlic Parmesan) One of my favorite restaurants to visit while I'm in Tucson. Only gripe is the restaurant is small. I wish they had a location in Phoenix.

  • Austin D.

Eclectic mix of east and west. Not the fastest lunch in town but they may have the best Katsu and my wife is a fan of the shrimp fried rice. The wings are good sized and sauced well. The cheesesteak would not be my first choice but its not bad. Easy parking but blink and you'll miss it.

located in a small nondescript strip mall. interior is updated and clean. staff is friendly. i was pleasantly surprised. sesame teriyaki wings were pretty moist and flavorful. certainly just as good or better than wing stop, etc. fried rice was bouncy and chicken was tender. kalbi BBQ was smoky, sweet, and savory. overall, a tasty meal and a good deal.

I really like this place! I am addicted to their Louisianan wings! OMG! So good! They food is good and the service is friendly and nice. The atmosphere is clean and inviting. My only complaint is that the prices are sort of high. I really think it should be $$ on the yelp info. You'll definitely spend about 10-12 dollars. I also wish they weren't so stingy with their frequency punch card. You can't use if for lunch specials, and one time we ordered 4 meals and they only gave one stamp. It takes 12 stamps to get the "free meal" and it only covers $5.99. I feel like it's too much work for very little reward.

Got to go back for more. Tried the pulled pork sandwich with smokey BBQ sauce.......... awesome, and the fries were great. Better try the wings next time. Friend had the fried rice, and the portion was gigantic. Awesome place, a real hidden gem.

I LOVE Wings and Rice!! The only sad part is that I have to drive about 15-20 mins just to get there. And if you know me, I'm a lazy person so this is a long commute for me! But I still go. Whenever I go there, I always get the 10 wings combo with their yummy fried rice and drink. There lemon pepper and spicy garlic parmesan are the bomb dot com!!! I always get those two flavors. And plan on sticking to those two flavors! If you're looking for something to fill you up, you should get this combo because I don't think I've ever finished the whole meal. And I'm a big eater!!!!!!!!!!

  • Josh H.

I find myself coming here more often than I'd expect - something about the combination of their rather strange fried rice (it has the almost smokey flavor that you get if you, you know, actually cook fried rice in a ripping hot wok, so maybe they do that?), a pork katsu, and some spicy garlic parmesan wings is sorta enchanting. This, even though none of these dishes on their own are particularly exceptional. The spicy chicken chowder is downright delicious, though, and I get a cup whenever I'm here. The "pork wings" are pretty friggen awesome, if a little expensive. Little pieces of pork shank, scraped down into lollipops of meat, cooked and dredged in a sauce of your choice.

Am I biased when it comes to finding good food in Tucson? Yes, I admit. Living in PHX has done this to me. Wings & Rice was a fantastic find. Cleaver menu, with clever wing combos...sweet,spicy,sorta sweet/spicy,citrus,hot,or even plain jane & oh make sure you order some of that bomb good rice...yum! not the greatest place to eat and catch a game at but a perfect spot to pick food up to take home for game. Well done Wings & Rice.

That secret sauce is what makes this place specials. I always get the combo because I want a little bit of everything. Combos come w wings, fried rice, salad, and a drink. Wings are pretty good, lots of different flavors. Fried rice w extra secret sauce is my favorite. The salad is your typical salad you get at an Asian restrauant. Extra cost for extra sauce! Staff is super friendly, fast service, small place but there's always been seating available (in and out).

LOVE the rice!!! We got the 8 wings and rice combo. The hot wings are good, the rice is excellent! We shared the combo and when the food was brought out the server brought two plates, forks, and ranch. I appreciated the observation and the gesture. The food didn't take too terribly long but we only ordered one combo. I highly recommend it! I will certainly be back to try more menu items. A really unique place, glad to have it in Tucson.

I was hoping for some Korean style wings: wet, or dry, and some nice pickled radish on the side. What I got was the ten wing combo order (Cajun and Mild) and a separate order of five wings (Garlic Parmesean). It's true, the fried rice is really good-especially for all the lovers of Japanese mayo. Salad was on the soggy side. The wings were okay but they didn't strike any Korean semblance to me. Maybe I didn't get the right flavor type though. Three stars for the food but I would give five for their service and friendly staff.

Is a nice place, but the food does take some sweet time to come. I had the chicken fried rice and it was nothing special, it was good but nothing incredible. On the other hand, the quantity is incredibly plentiful, I was eating that for two days.

  • David R.

Very good wings. Got the classic Buffalo and spicy garlic to go. Thought the interior was nice and clean despite what another reviewer said. I'll try the rice next time.

Wings and Rice is amazing. We had a party of four and one person recommended it as they had eaten there before. When we arrived the server was very friendly and seated us giving us menus and such. The menu was great, lots of choices for wing flavours and some good sides. We split a 50 order between all 4 of us with no sides and it was plenty. We had ginger soy, sesame teriyaki, spicy orange, spicy bbq and another which I don't remember as I filled myself up on the first four. Every flavour was phenomenal, I seriously could not stop chain eating them and was so full by the end of my meal. I shall be visiting this place many times whilst I'm in America.

UhhThis place is bomb. Food and service is fantastic! A little pricey for what it is but you definetly have linch tomorrow.. this is my first time here. I had the parmesan and garlic wings and rice. My son git the teriyaki chicken over white rice. Both come with salad. Yum. We will be back.

Love the fried rice with shrimp!!!! Lots of little shrimp, rice, and a yummy unique sauce!!! It's not your typical fried rice.

  • PJ G.

I usually have my wings with a cold glass of beer at a sports bar, so when my gf introduced me to this place i was skeptical at first. I have never had wings with rice, much more at at an asian place. Boy was I wrong! The first bite of the fried rice with the sauce tasted amazing! it's a weird combination but it works. The special sauce on the fried rice seals the deal. Don't expect a sports bar ambience though, in fact I believe a lot of people do take-out. But the ambience doesn't really matter when you're engulfed on how good your food taste. I was so into the food, I barely paid attention to my gf when I ate.

Oh my goodness! FInally found my favorite wings joint! Not too mention they sell my favorite japanese dishes the katsu!! It a must try! And the owner was nice and kind too. Would def come back more often.

Manager or owner was very accommodating. Stir fried rice is great. Many wing flavors, extremely crispy. Just the way they should be. I will come back when I'm in Tucson. Lots of variety.

This place is spectacular. While I haven't tried every item, I feel pretty confident that you could throw a dart at the menu and land on something good. Two of my personal favorites are the shrimp fried rice and the korean bbq ribs. Both are so crazy good that I have been unable to decide and ended up with one order of each.

  • Roger T.

This place is pretty good, I came here with some friends for a sorority event and with it being different with the serving of fried rice, it wasn't bad at all. The flavors of the wings I couldn't complain about either, I will come back here again to eat!

    (4)

BEST fried rice ever!!!!! Seriously I could eat just the rice without the wings. That being said the wings are also fantastic - the regular are definitely my go to.

I am usually not a wing fan but I eat them here (and since I am a wimp I just get BBQ which is very YUMMY)- i go for the RICE! OH MAN! I LOVE this rice! I will go in for lunch and just get an order of chicken fried rice to go with the sauce on the side. I love the sauce too but I like to dip my fork in the side to have just a taste with every other bite! The people are always so very nice! the side salad is also very good and the fries too! I will have to try to stray from my usual and try to chicken katsu one of these days it looks wonderful! +++++96*+ must try! :o)

This place is a little hole in the wall that serves up great wings and fried rice with a Japanese type sauce on top of the rice. They also serve various Philllipino and Korean dishes that folks seem to think are good as well. Everything is fresh and cooked well. There is a HUGE variety of wing sauces available to choose from for the wings.

  • Stephiee L.

The rice with sauce is delicious! I love this please. Although it's more of a place where you order and pick up. Not too much of a fan of the actual eating area. food is great, however, he could wipe down the tables every so often.

    (3)
  • Dave S.

Really, really good wings. Like the previous posts have suggested, you must put the sauce on the rice. Service was quick, food was fresh and the people were friendly. That and the price was right!

I'm a wing lover and make it my mission to find the best wings in town. I had heard good things about this place so decided I had to give it a try. Wings and rice did seem like a weird combination, but went in with an open mind. I walked in and was immediately greeted by a nice woman at the counter. Their menu has a lot more than just a ordinary wing shop, which is nice, but I came to a place named wings and rice, so I was getting nothing else but wings and rice. I ordered my wings half of them hot and half Parmesan. The hot lacked a bit in flavor and weren't hot or spicy at all for me, but they do have hotter flavors so I will try a spicier flavor next visit. The Parmesan was good and the wings were crispy, how I like them but not overcooked or dry. Nice. The other part of the meal was the fried rice. When I ordered the woman asked me about a sauce they mix with the rice.I had never had this, so I got it on the side. The rice itself was really, really good. Great taste, good mix of everything in it. Then I added the sauce in. Amazingness. Seriously. I'm not sure how describe the sauce but mixed with the fried rice it gives it a kick I've never had before with fried rice. In total, wings were good, not great, but I'd eat them again. Fried rice + sauce = Amazingness. Definitely worth another visit.

This is my first time trying this place out and it was delicious! I ordered the sesame teriyaki and smoked bbq, my husband ordered soy ginger and honey mustard, and my kids split an order of chicken fried rice. I'm not sure what sauce they put in the chicken fried rice but it is SO good! The wings are amazing and only took 15 minutes to make. They also do take out, which is super convenient. Will be coming here again!

I come here pretty regularly and the food is always awesome. The lunch special is good deal. The place is kept clean. Only thing I might not recommend is the boneless wings. Just get the regulars. They're awesome.

  • Teez G.

I always get the shrimp fried rice and 10 spicy Italian wings. They have a combo. By far the best wings in town. The owner is super friendly. The katsu is great too. I've tried probably every flavor wings. All are good but my favorite is spicy Italian. They are really military friendly from what I seen. Sometimes it's kinda packed since it's such a small place but if you have to wait, it's still worth it. It gets kinda expensive if you order like me but try it and you'll know why I still order it. Amazing. Truly a great find.

  • Keith B.

A very good wing place... The wings were perfectly cooked and sauced. I ordered the wings and rice combo. It came with5 wings, a large plate of fried rice and a small salad with ginger dressing. The meal was complete. I thought I would need another order of wings but in the end the amount of food was just right. When I'm looking for wings this is where I will come.

  • Dawn C.

It's the fried rice.......it's all about the rice. It's freakin delicious! I don't know what the secret sauce is but it must be mixed with a little bit of crack because it's all i think about. When can I get my next fix???

Classic hangover food type of place. Would have loved this place in college, then probably would have had nostalgia about it after leaving college, since it is a unique place. Alas, it has been many years since I was a college student, and I am serious about my wings. Wings did not really deliver as I had hoped. These wings went beyond crispy to downright crunchy. This worked ok in the bigger wings where the meat tended to stay somewhat moist, but the smaller wings were way too dry. Still, crispy / crunch wings are better than soggy wings so maybe I'll give this place another try. Whenever i go to a wing place, I always get the spicy buffalo sauce as a measure of comparison. This sauce was not spicy enough, not vinegary enough, and had a strange, slightly sweet aftertaste to it that did not belong there. If I return I would probably choose another sauce because their buffalo sauce is blasphemy! Rice was good, nice and fluffy and flavorful without being overly greasy. I didn't think it needed the sauce, but I can see why some of the folks with higher metabolism might enjoy it. I would probably eat from here again, but I am not rushing back.

The service here was so slow. There was no one in the store and it took 30 minutes for some cold rice and chicken. Would not recommend eating here

My wife and I had been told by several friends in town to try this place.... I must say with the name of the shop i had high hopes...... The first meal we had here was interesting.... rice was a bit bland, and the chicken was a really partial portion..... the sauce was a little strange and until about 4 hours later couldn't tell why it wasn't sitting right..... until you guessed it ... sick... i will not be letting our family eat here on the fly ever again..... i will say this... I have only had the chicken and rice here.... no wings yet, so the wings may save them... but with my past experience I will not be anxious to try them out any time soon

Really good food at really good prices. Owner is former Sakura teppan chef. Check out $5.95 fried rice all day Monday & Thursday. Wide variety of comfort food.

This place is excellent. Best fried rice I've ever had!! The sauce is the best part of it all. Everyone has to try the katsu it's a chicken deep fried covered in batter. It is delicious! A place I definitely recommend.

Decided to check this out based on yelper's reviews. Wings and fried rice is weird. But based on other reviews, I bit the bullet and ordered the 10 wings, fried rice, salad, and drink for $11.99. For the wings, I got 2 sauces Louisianan and Spicy Italian. I asked what the spicy Italian was like, she couldn't describe it, so get gave me a taste of the sauce. It is hard to explain, but wonderful. I had them put their sauce for the rice on the side because I did not know what it was like. Next time I will have them just put it on directly, yum. I will be back for sure.

Not sure I understand the fuss about this place. The wife and I made a quick visit while out and about. We had the boneless wings, which were straight-from-the-freezer-aisle chicken tenders doused in sauce. There are all kinds of sauces to choose from. We must have just made a bad choice. I can understand my wife not enjoying them as she is not a wing person, but I did not enjoy them and I love anything wing-like. Oh yeah... and it was not really cheap either. They do have other stuff on the menu that may tempt me to come back. The heart-attack-waiting-to-happen horseshoe sandwich looks interesting. I also see that they have "pork wings"... intriguing. I can only hope that flying pigs are more tasty than frozen chickens and I can give them a better rating in the future.

Tried the wings and rice even though the rice and wings looked tempting. Glad I went with it. Enjoyed every bite. Next time I will try the rice and wings instead. 11/10-IGN

Sorry Wings & Rice I've had better.....I don't mean to hurt your feelings. I mean honestly I had good intentions eating your delicious wings but the feeling just wasn't there. Please don't cry you will find someone else... that someone else just isn't me.

If you have never eaten here then you need to ASAP! Amazing food and great staff! Please try the chicken terryaki! I usually get it without veggies & salad so i cant say anything about that but on the posititive side is the entire plate is filled with rice, chicken and terryaki sauce... yum! Please try this place! Its amazing!!!

I pass by this place all the time. And a few of my friends has mentioned this place as well. The only reason why I tried this place was for a Percentage Night for my friend's sorority. I really thought this place was a wings only kindda place, but there's more to the menu. There's wings and fried rice, but then theres hawaiian bbq and burgers. Which was really surprising but in a confusing way. I skipped the mess and went straight for the wings. They had lots of different sauces to choose from which was my only plus. Otherwise, nothing really spectacular about the wings. I didn't care too much for the fried rice. I may come back to try something else but I dont see it happening anytime soon.

You can get with wings, or you can get with rice. You can get with wings or you can get with rice. You can with wings or you can get with rice. I think you should get with Wings & Rice, cuz it's kind of phat.

I've been going here for around 4 years now and this place will always satisfy me! The fried rice is TO DIE FOR! Get extra fried rice sauce, cause it's that "special sauce" that makes the food! Also I'm not much of a wing fan in general, but I LOVE THESE WINGS!!!! I hate local places like Wing Stop and Buffalo Wild Wings cause I feel the quality of wings there is just normal....quantity over quality. However, at Wings and Rice, it's both quantity AND quality! Definitely don't know what else there is on the menu, but why would anyone get anything else when the darn place is called "Wings & Rice"! The people who write bad reviews about this place mostly complain that their wives and stuff didn't like it.....and I'm assuming their wives are either vegetarian, or tried to get something healthy there! lol

I had the wings and rice combo. 5 wings and fried rice, with a salad and a drink. The wings are well made, and juicy. I had them with the spicy teriyaki sauce, which was still more sweet than spicy. The fried rice is made kind of like at a teppan place, but they put the orange sauce on it for you. It was pretty good. the hubby got the horse shoe burger thing. basically a burger with fries and nacho cheese slapped on top of it. See the picture. The owner of the place took notice, and he was very friendly as my husband scarffed down his meal. I had a couple of the fries. They were cooked well, but nothing special as far as flavor went. I think the food is decent, but the prices are a bit high for a whole in the wall type joint.

I have a sick passion for wings. It all started when I worked at a little family-owned pizza joint in Phoenix. We had, well, I'll just go right out and say it, THE BEST wings. They were big, meaty, and crispy on the outside. You could make a meal out of 1/2 a dozen. I thought I would never find such bliss again. I've tried Wing Stop; Eww. I've tried Buffalo Wild Wings; Double Eww (due to the crowd of drunken bros that it tends to attract--nobody needs to inhale that much Axe). This place though...this place is INCREDIBLE! Perfect wings, and I'm not even a fried rice kind of person, but this stuff is fantastic. I did indeed fill up after eating my 5 wings and saved the rice for a little thing I call "Second Lunch". Naturally, it occurs a few hours before "First Dinner", which, if I got out of work earlier, would include more Wings & Rice. Love this place and will be back every Saturday, The End.

The food is a little junky as you can tell everything is frozen from the food service truck, but I like the $5 fried rice specials and the chicken teriyaki rice bowl. Service is good and fast, and people are friendly. There's a dude who sits near the entrance with his laptop all the time. He has a name tag but yet, I've never seen him work. It's weird because he clogs up a space and he's not overly friendly. Is he just a super fan? The whole thing is just strange.

Was introduced to this restaurant by a friend since I don't make it to the east side that much. AFter my second visit recently, I decided to write a review. After the first visit I realized that this place has a great cook who just loves to make good food. The name of the place certainly makes you stop and think. I don't know if most everyone coming to Wings & Rice for their wings or other things on the menu. For me, it's the latter. Their cheesesteak sandwiches are really good, and the whole host of other Asian dishes are great. On my second visit, I was craving fired rice so I got the Japanese chicken FR and my son ordered the pulled pork sandwich. Upon getting our food, we both complained to each other as to how dry the meat was. Not sure how bad the pulled pork was, but the pieces of chicken in my fried rice were really dry. In fact, i put them aside and just ate the rice. So that was the bad news. The good news is that their cooking is so flavorful that I was satisfied with eating just the rice. So what am I saying here? Just a caution to ppl out there that while the cook can make good food, it's a toss of a coin if you happen to go here on a day when some of the ingredients have been around in the freezer for some time. So ... to be consistent with my other ratings, I have to give W&R a 2-star rating for now. I intent to make future visits to this place and will update my review if things improve.

The best wings in town and MUCH MORE than wings and rice! Their secret sauce for the rice is amazing!

This place will always hold a special place in my heart! Another thing about Tucson that I'm going to miss once I leave! You just can't find another place like Wings and Rice! The restaurant is pretty small and when you look at the menu prices you might think that it's too expensive.. but trust me its worth every penny. I have only ordered the Wings and Fried rice combinations and a side of fries but I heard their other food was pretty good too. I always order the "hot" sauce for the wings and ALWAYS get the sauce on the fried rice (You just have to do it). The wings are always juicy and the fried rice goes PERFECTLY with any wing flavor. My mouth is watering just thinking it! I always recommend this place to my friends who visit Tucson and they are always impressed. It might sound like a weird combination but trust me, you will fall in love with this place! Only bad thing about this restaurant is that it only has one location. If they could make one in Phoenix too I would be forever happy.

IMPORTANT: If you're trying this place for the first time and you're not getting wings AND rice, then you're doing it wrong. So so so so so so so so so so so so so so wrong. Wing and Rice has some of the tastiest fried rice I've ever had. Like Josh said, it has a smokey flavor that I can't quite identify, and it comes with some strange, creamy sauce that I'm sure is as caloric as it is delicious. I could honestly eat this rice all day and not get sick of it. No meat necessary. They do do (lulz) meat, though, and everything I've had has been more than up to par. Certainly better than anything I've ever had at say...Buffalo Wild Wings (YEAH I WENT THERE). I believe they have over 20 sauces/seasonings, although I think about a third of them go up and down the spectrum of buffalo-hotness. My favorite sauce is the Louisianan, which tastes nothing like what I'd expect something called "Louisianan" to taste like. It's not spicy or acidic; it's actually almost creamy and herbacious. Is it a mayonnaise based sauce? I have no idea and perhaps it's better that I don't know exactly what's in it, but I am confident that it is really freaking good. Teh BF is partial to the spicy orange. Their chicken katsu is surprisingly good -- one of the better katsu's I've had in Tucson. The breading is crispy, the chicken is tender and juicy, and the sauce that comes on it (mayo, something red, and some...horseradish...?) goes well with the chicken. They have a deal for $13 that nets you a full chicken katsu, five wings, and white rice, which I would get almost every time if it weren't for their #2 special, which is the best deal in the whole place. Lemme break this down: 5 wings a la carte = $4.50 1 hibachi fried rice a la carte = $5.75 Special #1: 5 wings + hibachi fried rice + drink (self-serve fountain) = $10.25. Not a bad deal. You basically get a drink for free. Special #2 is the same thing as the above, but for 74 cents more, you get five more wings. Yeah. Anyway, I love this place and would frequent it more often if I had more money and a Michael Phelpsian metabolism. The decor isn't much, but the peg game on every table is fun (even if I frequently score "ignoramus" on it), and most importantly the food is great.

Don't listen to everyone putting negative reviews on here, there all picky! The wings are awesome and not drenched in sauce like other places and there cooked perfect and the rice is the best thing ever! The food is a little pricey but it's really worth it.

I happened to see this place after going on one of my bus adventures(ie, hop on a bus and see where you go). Unfortunately, I went on the 5 which goes down Pima, which is kinda sketchy and mostly residential. Fortunately, I happened to see the Swiss bakery from my bookmarks and hopped off the bus to go check it out. But first, I was hungry and wanted lunch, and this place looked interesting. I expected Asian-style food based on the name and the giant Korean BBQ Ribs sign on the side, but entered to find just a melting pot of types of food. Opting to go with the namesake, I ordered the wing snack. They brought the food right to me and added extra wings because they were small. Unfortunately, these small wings were overcooked and dry. Fortunately, the sauce they were covered in(I chose Spicy Teriyaki) was absolutely delicious! And the fries it came with were also top notch! If I can get confirmation that the wings won't be so bad, I might come back with some friends-they have free wifi and some games so you can hang out there if you so desire.

The cashier was unenthusiastic but accommodating. She was nice but not very conversational, though that could be due to the language barrier. The wings are expensive. It was almost a dollar per wing. I ordered the spicy orange while I companion ordered the garlic parmesan. My wings were tangy and sweet but devoid of orange flavor. Some orange zest would have gone a long way. The parmesan garlic tasted like just parmesan. It looked and tasted like parmesan from a can was sprinkled on and that was it. The chicken meat itself was juicy and crisp though. As a wing place, it's mediocre. The vibe is boring and the wings are overpriced. The sauces are uninspiring and lazy. If I return, I'll stick to the Korean selection.

Wings were pretty good, they have a huge variety of flavors. The rice and the sauce that is on top is very good as well. The side salad you get has this unique dressing that I find absolutely amazing. Overall a pretty good place to go to, the only reason I am giving it a 3 stars is because we were asked to move outside because the person working wanted to start cleaning up the place before close. Which is understandable but we had to out in the Arizona summer heat which sucked.

Apparently, I need to spend more time exploring the world of wings. I guess that lots of places charge for the celery & carrot sticks, so I won't ding Wings & Rice for that.

A tiny restaurant tucked into a tiny corner shopping center. The decor is sparse but clean. Service - Counter service...but most times we order ahead for take out. Food - It sounds like a weird combination...wings and rice. But the wings come in over a dozen flavors and are huge. The fried rice is some of the best I ever had. Its kind of a simple Japanese style fried rice, but is topped with this awesome sauce.

This place i always saw when driving by, but never had the courage to try it myself. It is exactly what its name is. It has a mixture of pretty good wings and asian dishes. I will gladly give Wings and Rice the best Katsu in Tucson award. I have a thing for places where you order your food, pay, sit then recieve your food and finally leave after all that. This place is like that and its to their benefit. Food: This place has Kalbi to Philly Cheese Steak. Yes quite a wide variety of food. I got the oh soooo great katsu at this place. It is amazingly good and not only did it taste good but they have their own sauce they put on it and it is AMAZING! it is sweet like normal katsu sauce but it is tangy with a zip of spice (not a lot very tolerable). It is SOOOOO DELICIOUS. My roomate got the philly cheese steak and he was pleased with his decision.~~~~EDIT~~~~ He says it was average of philly cheesesteak ~~~~~END EDIT~~~~~~ The fries are okay nothinig to rave about. My other friend got the fried rice (which is his favorite thing to get there) and some wings. The wings here are pretty good and soo many different flavors to choose from. I had to get my own fill of wings so i got the spicy garlic. It was nicely put together garlic was not overpowering at all. Yet not as spicy as i would have liked but still yummy! Atmosphere: The owner (i think she is) is always really nice when i go. She gives me an extra scoop of rice just cause i think she recognizes me when i go. This place is a nice little hole in the wall but REALLY clean. They have Two TV's there playing usually the game thats on. In all I really enjoy coming to this place because it is friendly, decent price and good food. You should definitly check it out if you are in Tucson or that area. My only regret is that it is not closer to the UofA campus. There is beer here, didn't look at their selection but it isn't worthy of any mention beyond that it is there.

Went to this place on a whim the other day, no idea what it was about or how it was (as far as yelp rating). Walk into the place and they have pictures of all their dishes up on the wall (pretty standard for an Asian restaurant). For some reason unknown to me, I bypassed even considering going for their signature dish (wings and rice...duh, get the wings with rice) I instead went for the most fattening looking picture on the wall. All I could see that it was, was fries covered in what looked like cheese sauce. "Today is a good day to have a heart-attack" I thought to myself. When I ordered it (it's called "The Horseshoe") the cashier asked me if i wanted burger or pork with it...holy shit are you telling me there's a burger hidden under those fries and cheese?! I'm in! Now, the picture did not do justice to the size of this abomination against every thing I hold sacred (I meant that in a good way). This thing is pretty massive, also turns out there's 2 burgers hidden under that heap o' heart attack (and what appeared to be Texas toast). All I could do when the lady brought it out was stare at it, this dude...I assume him to be the owner, if not then he's just a guy that likes to sit their and watch people eat...anyway, he just laughs at me and asked if I was hungry...turns out I was. I bite into this thing and was surprised by how well the burger was seasoned and cook, actually pretty delicious on its own. Then you get the cheese sauce, I know the flavor of the cheese from somewhere, but I can't pinpoint it. The surprising thing about it was how light the cheese sauce actually was, it was mild in flavor and not over the top thick like Velveeta (that's was I assumed it was when I first saw it). The owner was nice enough to let me know that I should order the small version of this dish called "The Pony" since I wouldn't be finishing "The horseshoe," but sadly I proved him wrong...not proud of it, but I ate that entire monstrosity of a sandwich assume it's a sand which. So to summarize, good service, good atmosphere, friendly owner, and I recommend that once in your life you try this monster. I would be giving this place 5 stars but I haven't even had the wings yet...or the rice.

this is the sort of place you go to when you want an informal bite to eat for lunch. it's not fancy, but the food's decent and reasonable. the interior is a little sterile, so not a date joint. SECRET ASIAN-ISH ITEMS ON MENU! while not super-authentic, i'm sad i didn't come to the place sooner because i thought it was just wings! it's really close to where i live and when i finally went in, i found great shrimp fried rice! they also have katsu (mediocre), teriyaki plate (not bad), and korean bbq ribs with sides such as stir-fried veggies. never had the wings though. in short: go here for a filling, but not spectacular bite to eat. interesting menu items. decor needs help, but good value for your money.

The wings are delicious and come in a variety of flavors, but the reason I keep going back is for the rice. It's fried fresh, it doesn't sit around all day, and the sauce on top is addictive.

Great variety of wings which are decent. The hibachi fried rice would be awesome and deserving of another star IF it wasn't so dang greasy. It has some sort of dressing on it that reminds me of McD's special sauce. I tried asking the cashier what was in it so that I might opt out if it was mostly mayo, but he refused to tell me, which of course intrigued me and I felt compelled to try it. Whenever I come here, I leave feeling 20 pounds heavier after eating this stuff. My friends love this place though, so I will return only if I have no other choice.
