Favorite pizza place in Tucson. As in, whenever I miss living in Tucson, I think of this place. I think it's that good. If I were trapped in Tucson, and I had to give up either my penis or having Upper Crust Pizza on demand for free, I'd really consider chopping my penis off.

Mediocre pizza for a mediocre price. A little disappointed here, basically a clone of AZP.

Very cute little pizza place on a busy corner, easy parking and once inside you'll have pretty good service and excellent value for your money, a really big crusty slice of pizza with a soda -bring your appetite cause they're big but really really tasty!

Upper Crust is your everyday, go-to in the clutch pizza joint, with a daily $5 slice'n drink special. I'm telling you, these slices are huge, too. I almost *only* come to UC for the daily special since it's the perfect price/food ratio. Because pizza crust is so important, a word on upper crust's: it's a fluffy, graham cracker-y type. If you like your crust with some chew and some crunch (i do), you'll appreciate the dough. Atmosphere is really cool: has the wood and metal, semi-industrial feel. Can't beat upper crust's slice deal anywhere in midtown.

The longer Upper Crust is around, it seems, the worst the place gets. I thought this was just my perception but the Yelp reviews shows the exact same trend. Cheap pizza isn't an art, as much as the staff at UCP will act, as much as an easily delivered commodity. Honestly, I don't know where Upper Crust is even coming from with their behavior -- they act like a disgusted older brother every time you talk to them. Sorry it's a chore to take my order. Sorry it's a chore to grab me a canned soda. Sorry it's a chore to count exact change. Sorry it's a chore to break a $20. Sorry it's a chore to make the pizza. Sorry it's a chore to serve the pizza on a paper plate. Sorry I have to throw away my plate in the overflowing wastebasket that is too inconvenient to empty,. Sorry Upper Crust is somehow still around.

I've only been here once before, but I can say that the food here is amazing! They even make their own ranch! And it tastes so goooooood! I mean, it takes a special place to make pizza reminiscent of actual New York style pizza. I frequent the Bookmans on Grant all the time, and I like to stop here for a quick bite. I will definitely be coming back here.

Upper Crust is easily my favorite casual pizza place in Tucson. The combination of the huge yummy slices of pizza and the cheap price made it myself and a previous roommate's go to place when we went out for a casual lunch. The slices are gigantic and it's just an alright place to hang out and eat on a Saturday when you have nothing else to do. Also, they have a ton of different toppings to choose from and the staff has always been friendly enough to me (I see a lot contrary to that in other reviews). I've brought friends and family members here for lunch when they came to visit, and they all liked it too!

I have to go right in the middle on this one... 2.5 stars. I mean, the pizza was fine. The crust was a little tough even when the pizza was hot, but 3 days later the crust was almost too hard to chew... even for the dog. The fact that it was in our fridge 3 days later says something right there... leftover pizza never lasts in our house past the next day. The wings we got, which were pretty good, probably contributed to the pizza not getting eaten initially. We tried them out of sheer curiosity after driving past a couple of times. We'll likely stick to our regular pizza place(s).

  • Amanda S.

The prices are excellent, the pizza is REALLY, really good, & they deliver to our house really quickly, pizza still piping hot (too hot to eat right away). Overall, we are new delivery regulars. My favorite so far has been the Pizza Bianca with extra ricotta. My boyfriend's is the Combo. Bread sticks are excellent as well. Oh and just a side note to the staff of Upper Crust: I really like the simplicity of the website. It is not too fancy, I can find your phone number/menu instantly and it is easy to read. I also like that I have been greeted on the phone promptly and my order is taken really nicely AND efficiently, as well as the delivery drivers have been very friendly. Thank you!

Have you ever craved an old fashioned, no frills slice of cheese pizza? Have you ever wanted to pay for your pizza, have the people after you pay for their pizza, and watch the same girl that just handled cash WIPE HER NOSE WITH HER HAND, move a garbage can, pick up garbage from the floor, THEN GO PLAY WITH A BABY, then wipe her nose again, then pick up food from the floor (again) AND THEN WATCH HER GO TO A CHEESE PIZZA (THAT HAS BEEN SITTING ON A COUNTER TOP FOR WHO KNOWS HOW LONG) to cut YOUR slice without ever washing her hands? Do you want to pay $8 for it? Then run (don't walk) to this joint. Conveniently located a block away from the UMC emergency room, it boasts an uncomfortable dining room, high school lunch lady style service and horrible parking accommodations. So visit blackjack. They put the "food" in "foodbourne illness"! I HATE NOT BEING ABLE TO SUPPORT LOCAL JOINTS!

Upper Crust has always been one of the best pizza spots in town. Even though Upper Crust is a pizza spit I go for the meatball sub every time. Service is always friendly and fast. Priced competitively with quality fresh ingredients. Great lunch spot or pickup after a long day.

  • Dan K.

Was my place... Have called for five years for myself and my office. Called tonight, hung up on. Called again, hung up on. Called a 3rd time and was asked to hold which I did for four minutes and then hung up on. Called again and said look this is not going well, explained what happened and asked if they wanted my order. Was told no they did not. Ok Mario's, you're up. Upper Crust? You're dead to me.

  • Nick V.

Fantastic pizza and subs. Got a $5 slice and the meatball sub. They were both fantastic. Meatball sandwich did not have too much sauce, but wasn't dry at all. We ate in with our 2 kids. I had been there before the remodel and it was not so family friendly. Now they have nicer tables, 3 TVs and they even changed it to cartoons for my little guy. A great neighborhood spot!

    (5)
  • Amy B.

Good, fast, delicious, well priced pizza. I have been coming here since high school. The more recent remodel is nice with AC and more space to eat inside. My little ones and I love coming to this place!

Those who complain about the grease dripping down your wrist have never had NY pizza. Thats what I grew up on. Paper plates and a white paper bag for my slice to go. The location isnt the best and the joint is small to say the least. The pizza is as close to home as I will get here in Tucson. My wife and I have travelled abroad and been to a few places and I am always in the hunt for good NY style pizza. Had to previously get it in the Phoenix area. Glad to have you Upper Crust!!!! Ohhhh and the Calzones........Big and poppin with flavor. How can one get an old fashioned ham and cheese calzone? Hit the North East corner of Campbell and Grant . THATS HOW!!!

    (4)
  • Chelsey T.

They have huge slices! The size of a small pizza. And they don't skimp on the toppings. Plus a Dr. Pepper option on the soda fountain and amazing ice (you know the kind I mean...it's all crumby and chewable...yum...) It's even better now that they've expanded and put in some nice big-screen tv's. I'm really looking forward to when they add beer to the menu soon.

  • M. L.

The 5-star rating is based on the most important factor of restaurants: the food, in this case, the pizza. Upper crust pizza has owners who really know a New York style pizza. Quite possibly the best in Tucson, hidden in a strip mall, but, a rare jewel. The portions are huge and it's affordable, but the most important thing is that *quality is not sacrificed for quantity here.* So, so good. Try all the other places and then try Upper Crust. You won't regret it, and, you'll never look back!

    (5)
  • Michael M.

Largest slice of pizza I've seen for less than 4 bucks. Wow.

    (4)
  • Julia S.

You know, I've given this place three chances, and each time I've been left unimpressed. For five dollars you get a piece of pie and a coke, and while it's a decent amount of food for the price, it just isn't a satisfying slice. Honestly, the pizza reminds me of Peter Piper. My Mom affectionately refers to it as card board pizza... try folding it in half and it'll crack. Things don't improve much when you taste it, either. It's not that it's bad per se, pizza's pretty hard to mess up after all, but it's definitely bland. You can do better.

  • Emily G.

When I moved here from NY everyone I met told me to go to Brooklyn for NY style pizza. Apparently none of those people had actually been to NY. Upper crust is classic upstate NY pizza. The inside of the place screams upstate NY- bare bones booths, but hey the pizza could be sold out of a cardboard box and I would eat it. The pizza is delicious and always ready when you call in an order. The slices are HUGE. Thank you Upper Crust for making me slightly less homesick.

    (5)
  • Tommy T.

Even thought the cheese isn't what it use to be it still one of the best crust in town!

    (4)
  • Jennifer F.

We are fans! We came in around 9:30 Friday night and they had fresh pizza ready by the slice. The lunch special seems like a great deal too! The pizza was so cheesy! The staff is very friendly. I was with my daughter too and she loved it! The reason I didnt give it 5 stars is because the crust was a little crispy for my taste.

    (4)
  • Bianca A.

Wow I can't believe I have never tried this place! We ordered delivery and our combo pizza came loaded with pepperoni, sausage, red onion, mushrooms and black olives. It was delicious. We also ordered some wings and a salad. The wings were ok nothing spectacular and we didn't even get to the salad but it looks great. This place is just around the corner from us and we will definitely be ordering from them again.

    (4)
  • Karen W.

Huge slices of pizza for around $4. They are NY style-like in that it has a thin crispy crust. You will definitely leave full after eating just one slice!

  • Alex V.

my girl friend and i wanted to try something new for a change. I heard that upper crust was one of the best pizza places in Tucson. IO can eat pizza every day of the week so i had to try it! got there service was good but not a very big place. we ordered the pizza and spend 17.00 or something like that. i took a bite and it was good but not oh my lord good! my gf liked it but i could have saved 10 bucks and gone to bashes for their 7.00 pizza because it tasted just like it! my gf kinda agreed with me. but! pizza was good and service was good but everyone's tastes buds are different so you might really enjoy it .

    (2)
  • Jax F.

Obsessed with the veggie pie! NOM! Right around the corner from our house so we deiced to try it! We have had it several times now and I can't say anything bad about the pizza! I didn't LOVE the salad so that's why I only gave 4 stars.

    (4)
  • Frank K.

This place just a couple years ago was by far the best pizza in town. I have no idea what happened, but you can clearly see a difference in how the pizza looks and tastes. And not in a good way.. I just cannot see myself ever ordering from here again.

    (1)
  • Nikki F.

So I went here with great expectations from recommendations from a friend. Yeup, the dive is like NY pizza joint - simple - and so is the pizza. It's overpriced if you ask me. There are no bathrooms, not even a place to wash your hands!! Ordered and waited about 35 min for our large pizza, which arrived without a key ingredient. REALLY?!?!?!? We were so hungry, we ate it how it was. The place was filthy. People standing around in the kitchen with nothing to do. The staff was rather unfriendly, seemed bothered to take your order. Never again. I'll have frozen pizza before returning.

    (2)
  • Melissa J.

This pizza is delicous. The cheese is tasty. The sauce is tasy. The ratio of ingredients to one another is excellent. It costs something like $12.75 for a large cheese. Recently I've had the cheese and pepperoni, loved both. Years ago I remember having the white pizza and it was also awesome. The shop itself is a little hard to get to and inside is tiny. I probably wouldn't even try to eat in. However if you're in the market for a giant slice of pizza I hear their slices are even larger than 1702. Definitely worth a visit.

    (5)
  • Karen B.

Having grown up in Central New York, I've always had a specific idea for how pizza should be: not too thin, not too thick, crispy crust with adequate but not overpowering sauce, cheese and toppings. Upper Crust is the only place I've eaten outside New York State that really fits the bill. I can't eat carbs any more, but if I could still eat pizza crust, this is where I'd want to go!

  • Derek H.

I dont know why I always forget about this place. Its close and I've never had a bad experience. Last week, my gf and I decided to order from there and we were not disappointed. The pizza and salad we ordered were excellent. The salad was large and full of fresh ingredients. The pizza was amazing and well-priced. And, more importantly, the service was great.

    (5)
  • Roland W.

This is a great place to pick up a slice. There lunch specials are ridiculously affordable, especially considering how large their pizza slices are. Their whole pizzas, while delicious, are a bit expensive, especially with Blackjack right up the street. Still, the customer service is always good, so you should check them out.

  • Juan B.

This place, for some reason, doesn't get the attention it deserves in the Tucson pizza scene. I won't go into detail on why the pizza is good, there's already tons of reviews extolling its virtues and I generally agree with the previous positive reviews. If you're going to Brooklyn Pizza Co. because you like surly hipsters (which hey, I do too), Upper Crust has that. 4/5 or so pizzas I've had delivered have been by young tattooed chicks. Do you like a bit of aloofness from your local pizza joint because it makes you feel like Clerks was set in Tucson? Me too! They have that too! This review might make zero sense, or it might make all the sense in the world. I don't know. But try this place, it's good!

    (4)
  • Gail C.

I kept seeing a steady crowd at this place and figured I'd better try it. Good pizza! I will go again. I had pepperoni. very good crust. I also had buffalo wings. They were good, not as spicy as I am used to from NY. But a good mild flavor, not fatty or chewy. I miss NY a little less :)

    (4)
  • Kris C.

Great pizza and by the slice!!

    (5)
  • Kelly L.

Went there for a pepperoni pizza with my dad. It was extremely greasy, as in dripping grease down my hand while I held the slice. I'm never going back there. Also, brought it home for my roommate to get a second opinion and she couldn't even finish one slice. I'm very disappointed because I heard great reviews!!

    (1)
  • John B.

First off, never trust a reviewer who has less than 2 reviews. It's like never trusting a thin pastry chef. The pizza at Upper Crust is exactly what it should be, the OG pizza. This is the stuff I grew up on back east. Before there was Pizza Hut or even pizza in a box at your local grocer there was this pizza. Upper Crust is the working class hero of pizza. The no nonsense, unpretentious, eat it or don't pizza. Is it good? Oh yes. Is it filling like a warm bowl of Mac and cheese? Oh yes. Is it the truffle oiled, arugula and salmon roe pizza at the local posh pizza eatery? Hell no. And it doesn't want to be in my opinion. Eat this pizza if you like belly filling, lip smackin', wipe pepperoni grease from your wrist goodness.

  • Sarah D.

Friend and I went on a whim and ordered some calzones. I was a little nervous with the bottom line that such a high price for a calzones would leave me wanting more. Although it took quite a long time for us to receive them, the cook kept us informed. When they came out, I kid you not, they were about the size of my head! Then finding ricotta cheese as well as mozzarella cheese inside was a welcome surprise. However next time i'd like for the menu to indicate that because my friend and I weren't sure if she could eat the ricotta because she's pregnant (soft cheeses could be harmful to the baby like Mexican queso fresco or feta). Overall very fun experience and we definitely didn't leave hungry.

  • Sami A.

Good crust, average taste cheese , dough- sauce ratio is not balanced ( more dough than sauce). in overall, one of good pizza places in tucson and i say that because i tried 18 different pizza places in tucson.

  • Laurie L.

I can't believe I've passed by so many times and finally decided to try a new pizza place. OMG...by far the best pizza I've ever had. Looking forward to coming back for more!

    (5)
  • K K.

I'll give upper crust two stars because it USED to be amazing! Sadly, no longer the case. Tastes like cardboard... try No Anchovies instead :)

  • Megan B.

Got rid of the only Cool thing there... Jeremy the pizza dude. You are the worst, Uppercrust. Way to uphold the Meola family empire. Yuck.

Pizza slices are huge!!! Great value and decent environment to watch football. Food tasted great

  • Sean A.

I Have been ordering for Pick-up since 2012! Great pizza, the crust alone is worth raving about! Ask for some ranch to dip the crust bread into. The BBQ sauce is worth the wings, may have to think of hot buffalo next time!

    (4)
  • Kel K.

My inner (and outer) fat girl was dancin' at the prospect of a slice of NY style. Very disappointed. Tasteless and frankly a waste of my calories. Felt like the local 4th graders could do better with play dough and a magnifying glass.

  • Scott B.

BBQ Chicken Pizza is ask I need top say about this place. Owner was super generous as well.

    (5)
  • Aishan S.

Their BBQ chicken pizza is the best! Honestly, I think I just really love the pizza crust that they make here. I'm not sure what gives it so much pizzaz, maybe they use some really awesome herbs and/or cheeses, but for some reason, the crust is just absolutely spectacular and makes the pizza. And, the pizza's are HUGE! So great!

  • Jacqueline S.

Wow we were impressed. For some reason Upper Crust slipped my mind and it had been several years since I or my boyfriend had experienced their food. It was a lazy Sunday and we wanted somewhere other than our norms and Upper Crust came up. I called in the order and the woman taking my order was fantastic! She let me know the specials and then proceeded to take my order, repeated the order back to me and said our dinner would be there in 45 minutes. Despite one of our bigger monsoons the order arrived right on time and the delivery driver was really pleasant despite being drenched in rain. We ordered the garden salad for two and took advantage of the $11.99 large one topping special but added two more toppings. The pizza was delicious, perfect crust, right amount of toppings, and not overly greasy. The salad was a meal in itself with lots of veggies and cheese. We decided that Upper Crust is our new place for casual and delicious pizza!

Do you love pizza hut or dominos? Then don't go here, you will hate it. Do you love fake new york pizza, and you've never actually been to new york? Then don't go here, you will hate it. I've driven passed Upper Crust for the last two years, and I've never stopped until last week. I ordered the cheese pizza slice, and I was absolutely amazed. This pizza is so good, and is almost like the New York pizza I remember. I can't wait to go back...YUM. But seriously...if you have no idea what true new york pizza tastes like...stop complaining, and just don't go here, cuz you will hate it. PS...My expertise comes from living in New York and Boston for a number of years, and knowing what pizza should really taste like.

    (5)
  • Angela S.

It's decent and cheap, but that's where it ends. Not the cleanest and pizza was served on paper plates the grease soaked through and pizza fused with the plate. Ok, but worth driving a little longer to Brooklyn's or Magpie's for delicious pizza for good prices.

  • S. M.

Tried a slice of cheese pizza- it was VERY good! There was a nice balance between sauce and cheese, additionally, the crust was perfectly crispy on the bottom. Really great NY style pizza! The downside: horrid service. The lady that took my order acted like she couldn't care less and was borderline rude. This was on a Saturday night, so they had a lot of orders, but no one seemed to feel the need to do things quickly... at all. I'm not suggesting they frantically run around like the world is going to end if they don't get pizzas out quickly, but there should be at least a slight sense of urgency and a desire to get people their food on time. By the time I left, I'd watched a man wait on his food for 45 minutes and then they messed his order up because they hadn't even bothered to keep the tickets their proper order AND THEN they were very unapologetic about the mishap (and making him wait 20 minutes more than promised). They just didn't care!! My plan for the future: order an hour and a half before I actually want the pizza! Update: I have, since my initial post, gotten two large pizzas from Upper Crust and have NOT BEEN PLEASED! They have been soggy and had a less than appetizing flavor. Their sanitation practices are also quite scary... No gloves, nasty clothing, employees wiping their hands on their shirts/pants then handling money and THEN making pizzas... All without WASHING their hands even once!! I WILL NOT BE BACK!

    (1)
  • Karol B.

NEVER again! The pizza was good but when I walked in at 11:05 there was one person that had already ordered and was waiting so I ordered 3 pizza's ($55.00) and at 11:35 I asked how much longer until the pizzas would be done because I needed to use the restroom and there wasn't one...they told me another 15 min....WHAT? Are you kidding me? I left and found some where to use the bathroom....returned at 12 and the pizza still wasn't done. At a 12:06 I got my pizza's...no apology nothing. Had they of told me when I ordered it was going to be an hour I would of gone else where! Update....from my last experience I assumed that Uppercrust took phone orders before they opened at 11 because when I was there the last time I arrived and ordered at 11:05 and was told it took over an hour because of phone orders (I assumed they had called in before 11 and I would have to wait my turn) because of that I started calling at 10:20...again at 10:40 and lastly at 10:57....3 minutes before they open....wow, they answered! Wait...how did they answer, you ask? "upper crust pizza, we are not open"....hummmmm.....I tell the VERY rude woman that I was just calling to order pizzas for pick up at 12 and she proceeded to say "We are closed" and hung up! OMG, are you kidding me? Why even answer if you are simply not going to help someone? I called Grimaldi's down the street, ordered 60.00 worth of pizza and was there to pick up my pizzas at 12....oh by the way the pizza at Grimaldi's are AWESOME!!!!!! Much better than I had gotten from Upper crust a few months ago! If you are looking for good pizza in this area go a few blocks south to 6th and Campbell and eat at Grimali's where the pizza is good and the service is GREAT!!!!

  • Brittany H.

Have been back since for the $3.50 lunch and had a WAY better experience. Maybe they took some tips from a certain Yelper?...... Anyway! The service was prompt, the place was clean and the pizza even tasted better! I love when stories have happy endings.

  • Jessica G.

Upper Crust is hands down, the best pizza in Tucson. My favorite part is that they ALWAYS get our order correct. Not easily accomplished for some reason at other pizza places as we like our cheese and crust extra crispy and well done with all those yummy brown spots! Beware of their "1 slice special" it's HUGE. They also have quick delivery and though their sit-in area is bare bones I'd rather they spend their time and money on the food!

    (5)
  • ivan v.

Initially, Upper Crust's pizza and service get four stars from me, the fact that you need to muck around hunting through facebook to get access to a poorly scanned version of their menu drops my rating to a three. I order a good deal of pizza and Upper Crust is currently at the top of my heap (mainly because of the quality of their pizza and staff).

    (3)
  • Wes B.

I did not enjoy my upper crust pizza.. The pizza was overly greasy and under cooked. The crust was doughy and bland, don't let the other reviews fool you this place doesn't make a good 'pie'. I wish i could give it a zero star out of five.

    (1)
  • Emily R.

Upper Crust probably has the best lunch special in town...you get a giant slice of pizza and a drink for under $4. The pizza is pretty good, definitely one of the better pizza joints in Tucson. It's greasy (like, needing to blot with a napkin greasy) deliciousness!.

    (4)
  • Jason K.

Great lunch spot. There pizza is decent and there lunch special is best in town. 3 dollars for a huge slice and a soda. Cash only under 5 bucks!

  • Becki G.

All pizza suffers when forced to spend time in a cardboard box, but that mainly effects the crust, and the crust was fine. It was the toppings that didn't please. Three were delivered to a friend's party: a White pizza, a No Cheese, and a Pepperoni/Spinach/Jalapeño. The White lacked seasoning and the texture was mushy and lumpy. A guest commented that it was like eating cottage cheese piled on a pizza crust. The No Cheese was *loaded* with great veggies (a plus), but the seasoning -- although pronounced -- was bland. It was as if, equipped with only a limited palette of seasoning, more was added to compensate for the missing meat and cheese. This happens often with veggie alternatives created and executed by non-vegetarians. The Pepperoni/Spinach/Jalapeño was the best of the lot and the jalapeños packed a whallop. It was quite greasy, a problem I overcame by topping the meaty slice with a slice of the veggie-loaded No Cheese pizza -- creating a kind of Calzone-marriage between vegan and carnivore pizza. The solution tasted great, but need I call upon my ingenuity to eat pizza? Pizza is eaten precisely to avoid having to be clever about meal preparation! Normally I'd offer to give this place another chance, but as of this Sunday morning, I just don't feel like it.

My very first time there. I'm a pizza addict. I can't believe I've been missing out on this hole in the wall. When you tire of the foo foo pizza places like Vero Amore and Vivace, go try some real pizza. I grew up in New York, and Upper Crust Pizza reminds me of the pizza I loved as a kid. The smoky taste of the wood fired oven is baked right into the crust. Do not miss out on this pizza. Great pizza and well priced too! Go now!!!

    (5)
  • Ignacio B.

$17.84 for an extra large 1 topping pizza that wasn't nearly as good as a $11 Brooklyn's pizza. Don't believe the hype on this spot. Man do I miss Zachary's. if you're thinking about getting an extra large and hoping it'll be EXTRA LARGE don't hold your breath.

    (1)
  • Christine S.

Mediocre at best. The sauce lacks flavor and they skimp on the cheese.

    (2)
  • Danny M.

Look, some dumb hipster might tell you that Brooklyn Pizza is the best.....they are wrong. Some stoned hippie might tell you that Magpie's is not to be beat in Tucson.....they are also wrong. Upper Crust cannot be improved upon! They don't mess around. They get you pizza, plain and simple, in a timely fashion. Lunch special is $3.50 and worth every penny. Also cool are the magazine cutouts they insert in the tables every month.

    (5)
  • Greg M.

Worst pizza I've ever tasted in Tucson!. I ordered the "Jumbo Slice" with sausage. The slice itself was mostly crust with very little cheese and sauce on it. They heated the slice in the oven and cooked the sausage in a microwave. After the slice was reheated in the oven it was placed in a to go box and then the sausage was thrown on top of the slice. upon eating this slice, sausage would fall off of it everywhere. The sausage had no flavor at all, not a hint of spicyness to it. No more Upper Crust pizza ever again!

    (1)
  • Josh F.

Upper Crust pizza is the best "worst" pizza in Tucson. It's really good but I am putting the style of pizza they make on a different tier. It's the really greasy, cheap, non-gormet toppings pizza. You know, the OG stuff. It's super greasy, super cheesy and super cheap... and one of the best ways to cure a hangover. The thing is that there are SO many pizza places in Tucson that are worth trying!

    (3)
  • Steve C.

for those who say the crust is bland and the pizza is greasy... The dough isn't supposed to be seasoned in the first place. And go to any REAL pizzeria in New York, you will get the same crust, and the same oil that is coming from the REAL cheese. The stuff you want, the so called GOURMET pizza is garbage. I guess if you aren't exposed to REAL pizza then you just don't know what you are talking about. I've said my peace!!

The negative reviews of this joint are from those who are pissed that they didn't get something that more closely resembled pizza hut. Tucson only has a handful of places that comes close to a NY style slice and this is one of them.

Definitely the best pizza in tucson by far~!

  • George H.

You know those large slices of pizza you can get all over the place in New York? The hot, steamy, cheesy kind that are so big you have to fold over the slice to eat it? Well, you can find the same thing at Upper Crust right here in Tucson. And the lunch special is a sweet deal.

a good pizza for people who don't like anything thats good about pizza. bland, boring, and soggy.

Even thought the cheese isn't what it use to be it still one of the best crust in town!

Huge slices of pizza for around $4. They are NY style-like in that it has a thin crispy crust. You will definitely leave full after eating just one slice!

my girl friend and i wanted to try something new for a change.

Obsessed with the veggie pie! NOM! Right around the corner from our house so we deiced to try it! We have had it several times now and I can't say anything bad about the pizza! I didn't LOVE the salad so that's why I only gave 4 stars.

This place just a couple years ago was by far the best pizza in town. I have no idea what happened, but you can clearly see a difference in how the pizza looks and tastes. And not in a good way.. I just cannot see myself ever ordering from here again.

This is a great place to pick up a slice. There lunch specials are ridiculously affordable, especially considering how large their pizza slices are. Their whole pizzas, while delicious, are a bit expensive, especially with Blackjack right up the street. Still, the customer service is always good, so you should check them out.

  • Angela S.

It's decent and cheap, but that's where it ends. Not the cleanest and pizza was served on paper plates the grease soaked through and pizza fused with the plate. Ok, but worth driving a little longer to Brooklyn's or Magpie's for delicious pizza for good prices.

    (2)

    (1)
  • Ignacio B.

$17.84 for an extra large 1 topping pizza that wasn't nearly as good as a $11 Brooklyn's pizza. Don't believe the hype on this spot. Man do I miss Zachary's. if you're thinking about getting an extra large and hoping it'll be EXTRA LARGE don't hold your breath.

Go now!!!

Very cute little pizza place on a busy corner, easy parking and once inside you'll have pretty good service and excellent value for your money, a really big crusty slice of pizza with a soda -bring your appetite cause they're big but really really tasty!

  • José C.

Favorite pizza place in Tucson. As in, whenever I miss living in Tucson, I think of this place. I think it's that good. If I were trapped in Tucson, and I had to give up either my penis or having Upper Crust Pizza on demand for free, I'd really consider chopping my penis off.

    (5)
  • Christine S.

Mediocre at best. The sauce lacks flavor and they skimp on the cheese.

    (3)

    (5)

    (4)

I Have been ordering for Pick-up since 2012! Great pizza, the crust alone is worth raving about! Ask for some ranch to dip the crust bread into. The BBQ sauce is worth the wings, may have to think of hot buffalo next time!

My inner (and outer) fat girl was dancin' at the prospect of a slice of NY style. Very disappointed. Tasteless and frankly a waste of my calories. Felt like the local 4th graders could do better with play dough and a magnifying glass.

So great!

We are fans! We came in around 9:30 Friday night and they had fresh pizza ready by the slice. The lunch special seems like a great deal too! The pizza was so cheesy! The staff is very friendly. I was with my daughter too and she loved it! The reason I didnt give it 5 stars is because the crust was a little crispy for my taste.

for those who say the crust is bland and the pizza is greasy...

You know those large slices of pizza you can get all over the place in New York? The hot, steamy, cheesy kind that are so big you have to fold over the slice to eat it? Well, you can find the same thing at Upper Crust right here in Tucson. And the lunch special is a sweet deal.

I'll give upper crust two stars because it USED to be amazing! Sadly, no longer the case. Tastes like cardboard... try No Anchovies instead :)

    (5)
  • Chelsey T.

They have huge slices! The size of a small pizza. And they don't skimp on the toppings. Plus a Dr. Pepper option on the soda fountain and amazing ice (you know the kind I mean...it's all crumby and chewable...yum...) It's even better now that they've expanded and put in some nice big-screen tv's. I'm really looking forward to when they add beer to the menu soon.

Favorite pizza place in Tucson. As in, whenever I miss living in Tucson, I think of this place. I think it's that good. If I were trapped in Tucson, and I had to give up either my penis or having Upper Crust Pizza on demand for free, I'd really consider chopping my penis off.

    (3)

I did not enjoy my upper crust pizza.. The pizza was overly greasy and under cooked. The crust was doughy and bland, don't let the other reviews fool you this place doesn't make a good 'pie'. I wish i could give it a zero star out of five.

Very cute little pizza place on a busy corner, easy parking and once inside you'll have pretty good service and excellent value for your money, a really big crusty slice of pizza with a soda -bring your appetite cause they're big but really really tasty!

  • David H.

Upper Crust has always been one of the best pizza spots in town. Even though Upper Crust is a pizza spit I go for the meatball sub every time. Service is always friendly and fast. Priced competitively with quality fresh ingredients. Great lunch spot or pickup after a long day.

    (5)

    (4)

    (5)

Good crust, average taste cheese , dough- sauce ratio is not balanced ( more dough than sauce). in overall, one of good pizza places in tucson and i say that because i tried 18 different pizza places in tucson.

Even thought the cheese isn't what it use to be it still one of the best crust in town!

Huge slices of pizza for around $4. They are NY style-like in that it has a thin crispy crust. You will definitely leave full after eating just one slice!

my girl friend and i wanted to try something new for a change.

Have been back since for the $3.50 lunch and had a WAY better experience. Maybe they took some tips from a certain Yelper?...... Anyway! The service was prompt, the place was clean and the pizza even tasted better! I love when stories have happy endings.

Largest slice of pizza I've seen for less than 4 bucks. Wow.

Go now!!!
