I don't think that I can say enough about The Scented Leaf on University in Tucson. My boyfriend and I first visited on our first date several months back. Let me first say that there are few really good date-friendly venues in Tucson; many places are too loud, too focused on drinking culture and often either too expensive and formal or dive-y. The Scented Leaf is now where I send all of my friends looking for a good place to spend time, drink delicious tea and and do homework/studying, a good place to socialize with friends or grab a bite to eat, and definitely as a date location. It's such a nice alternative to the greasy pub fare or the overpriced, student oriented fast food as well, with a simple, but satisfying menu with healthy options for both food and drink with uncompromising quality assured. From the moment we set foot in the tea house, we felt comfortable in the environment. For a storefront on a crowded street, it was a quietly energized atmosphere, well frequented by people who seemed to be "regulars," judging by the fact that they were greeted by name. The staff couldn't have been friendlier- welcoming us, offering suggestions and describing the flavor profiles of all of their teas. We decided upon a delicious Rooibos, at the recommendation of the vivacious and knowledgeable Camille and sat down at a table to talk, have tea service (cheerfully and unobtrusively refilled), and get to know each other. We must have stayed for over an hour, drinking tea and deciding between delectable goodies to compliment it. We had a wonderful time. Overall, it was a completely delightful experience! I particularly enjoyed the decor, complete with plants, colorful pictures of the tea, which helped in the decision making process and whet our appetites for the different offerings. They also offer tea for purchase by the bag in addition to having the first "tea on tap" concept that I have seen- in my subsequent visits, I have greatly enjoyed the Yerba mate and the raspberry rose petal iced tea combinations. It will definitely have me coming back for more. I'll probably bring my boyfriend too, as this is where it all started. :)

I'm a big tea fan, and I particularly love matcha green tea. So when i saw it was an option here I jumped at the chance to order it. I also ordered a cup of shrimp chowder and shared a slice of turtle cheesecake. Everything was amazing and I really felt like it was made with great attention to detail and presentation. The people running the place are incredibly accommodating. So even though I lament the loss of Red Velvet that was once in the same spot, I welcome the new business with open arms and will definitely be back!

Great place, friendly, knowledgeable staff... nice tea selections and cool delivery system from taps like a microbrewery...

I was having a stressful day when I walked into the Scented Leaf. This turned my day around. Every drink or food item in this establishment is made with with the utmost care. I ate a bowl of vegetable soup and the broth was so delicious. The lightly buttered warm bread was a perfect compliment. Their specialty is tea and will talk to you about all the different moods and flavors for however long you wish to talk. If you are willing to sit for a while, they will reuse your tea leaves and brew you more cups of tea for no cost. It was lovely. Wonderful ice tea for a hot day. The customer service was friendly and attentive.

Really like this place! The atmosphere is great, and I love how it is super close (practically on) campus. I have only tried the tea- love how many choices they have- but can't wait to try some of the patries/food. Great tea house and cafe!

My friend Charlie has been getting more and more into tea. So when I came down to Tucson, he made it a point for me to check out this one tea shop close to the university. I think this store is going through a few transitions. Apparently they used to sell just perfume and cologne but they have expanded to the tea business. When I walked in, they had fragrances on the right and tea to the left. No idea what it looks like now. Anyway, I really like their selection of tea. From what I gather, Shane (the owner) carefully selects the tea he sells. If he doesn't like it, he won't sell it. I tried one of his rooibus teas which was great and the red rose oolong is good too. But, I like their green tea w/ mango pieces. It is just something I've never seen before. Not even in the tea shops in SF. The price is okay too. In the end, I picked up some jasmine green tea for a friend and a tropical blend for myself. In short: nice tea shop, love their teas, I don't know too much about their fragrances though, I can't wait to come back to Tucson to grab some more tea!

Very nice ambiance. Very enjoyable place to sit, study, chat, drink tea. Prices are a bit high for tea.

My coworker and I went to the scented tea leaf this morning as the manager was opening up shop. He was extremely welcoming, and explained in detail each type of tea. He is obviously very passionate about his business, and it shines through with his amazing customer service. He was so helpful, answered all of our questions, and even had me considering a tea mug! I had ordered the same tea I always get, and he recommended a new way to make it, creating a mix of two teas, adding almond milk and brown sugar. He was very inventive, and it was absolutely delicious! I now have a new favorite thanks to his ingenuity. It's my second time to this tea shop in two days. Thanks to the amazing customer service, I will definitely be a regular. 5 stars.

This place is a gem! The people behind the counter are super friendly and patient, the tea is yummy, and they give you GENEROUS portions of pie. I won't return to places that are stingy with their servings. This place isn't.

Thank you Yelp for helping me find this place. I love tea. I had to stop going to Teavana because they stopped carrying any "tea" in their tea. I had to stop going to Seven Cups because it has a pretentious vibe and the girls there are getting as pushy as Teavana. One in particular told me that their tea would cure my diabetes. They will say anything to get you to buy their traditional tea. I ended up buying online for a bit but I missed a place to go and relax now and then. Yelp led me to The Scented Leaf and I couldn't be happier. It has a very cool vibe. Not pushy and tea is delectable. The staff and service ( my trigger point) is exceptional. All I can say from here is YEAH!

I've been going to the scented leaf since there location change in the summer last year. On any given week I'm in there at least 4 out of the 7 days if not more. I've gone through all of the teas, a majority of the soups, and most of the desserts and have nothing else to say but AMAZING! The service is always prompt and extremely friendly. I came in a novice to the tea world and they are always willing to explain and expand my knowledge rather than dismiss my questions. The neighbor tea deal is great as someone who comes in and then resteeps at work. I would recommend tea drinkers new and old at least stop in and try a few of the teas on tap and peruse the desserts of the day.

The Scented Lead offers the best non-alcoholic drinking in Tucson. Here tea is so tasty you want to sip and savor it like any fine brew. Teas are made fresh at order and varieties can be custom blended. If you need a refreshing drink, a healing tonic or a pick-me-up this is a great place to go and really enjoy what you are putting in your mouth.

I don't think I have ever been made to feel so welcome! The staff was excellent and more than happy to spend time walking me through their huge tea selection. Free wi-fi and great music made it the perfect place to spend time getting some work done.

Fantastic place! Best place in Tucson to just sit down and enjoy the day. The servers really know their teas. I come in and just ask what they recommend and every time the tea tastes amazing. If you are lucky enough to come in during the day, Lynette and Duke will always offer their suggestions for you to try and customize your drinks specifically to your needs. Everyone in Tucson should experience this great place.

The customer service is wonderful, everyone who has helped me has been really friendly! I got some of the herbal comfort tea when I was feeling sick and it was great. I would also recommend the iced Strawberry Seduction if you are looking for something cool and refreshing.

The blends smell amazing. Seriously to die for. More of a coffeehouse or cafe vibe than a zen vibe. The only thing I didn't like was the staff bragging to each other about tips. But I would highly recommend this place for some wonderful blends of tea. Smell rhis tea blend: Evening in Missoula!

I can't say enough good things about this place, and this is coming from a die-hard coffee drinker. I walked into the Scented Leaf for a change of pace soon after they opened, and I've been there almost every week since. The staff are extremely knowledgeable about the types of tea they sell, and very helpful when it comes to making a suggestion. Having never been a tea-drinker (even when I lived in Ireland!), I was a little overwhelmed at the dozens upon dozens of teas on display. But the owner was quick to ask about my preferences and provide little samples to taste. I haven't had a bad one yet! Shane and the other employees are very personable and have come to recognize me and welcome me personally when I stop by, which is nice when you're a student far from home. I especially like the tea service, and have settled in to study here on several occasions. The staff are very attentive and will re-steep your leaves with fresh hot water for the duration of the time you stay. The homemade desserts are an excellent option (particularly the turtle cheesecake), and the atmosphere is inviting, cozy, modern, and well-lit. In conclusion, this establishment alone has converted me to a tea-drinker. I have brought 3 friends here with me, and none of them were disappointed. The people, the tea, and the location are all top-notch, and I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a place to relax and cool down or warm up with a spot of tea.

I went here when they first opened and it was a wonderful experience. They have samples at the counter and can tell you about all the teas. There is free water in a jug which is nice on a warm day. The atmosphere is fun and trendy. There are also desserts and small bites available. There is outdoor seating and a big, comfy couch inside. We had a book club meeting here which was a good location.

loved this place. The atmosphere is very welcoming and very relaxed, complete with free wifi and comfy lounge seating as well as traditional table seating. The staff was very nice and open to my personal taste in teas and she wanted to know what I liked in detail. She recommended an Oolong, as I love strong teas. I tried Fanciest Formosa Oolong iced and fell in love with it's flavor and feel. As far as pricing, the iced tea was a little expensive; a little over 4 dollars including tax. However due to the wonderfully large selection and brilliant atmosphere, it was well worth it. Overall it was a great place to enjoy good tea and good people.

A bright and quiet new place on University Blvd., next to Wilko. Big selection of teas, great service and modest design make this place a perfect alternative to crowded and noisy on-campus coffee shops. The tea house also has free wi-fi and deserts!

There are few good things in Tucson. Between the cacti, ambiguous weather, and subpar frozen yogurt, there's not a lot to live for. The Scented Leaf changes everything. It is a beacon of light in the darkness. It has all the indie vibe with none of the general accompanying smugness. I had half hazelnut vanilla oolong with half chocolate covered strawberry pu-erh (I know, it sounds like chaos but bear *down* with me) and it was divine. Add a splash of dark chocolate almond milk (that didn't cost extra) and you've got a #basic sorority girl's dream. Thank you, Scented Leaf, for renewing my hope in humanity unified by the power of tea. You are an oasis in the desert (literally).

I really like the environment at this place. However, Personally, I think that having the statue of the Buddha in the restroom is very disrespectful to many people. Buddhism is a religion in many countries. I am catholic by birth but still have respect for other region and their practice. I really hope that Scented Leaf would remove the Buddha statue from their restroom.

Great place that serves all kinds of tea, black or iced. The staff are the highlight - guy who runs it is awesome and super friendly and gives great recommendations and let you try samples. You don't have to know about tea to come enjoy this place. I'm more of a coffee drinker but it has a great vibe for hanging out and doing some work, using the free wifi, or reading. You can get an endless tea pot for $4 and they also have some food (just a few options but what they have is tasty.)

This is a GREAT tea house. Steps from the main gate! Shane is the sweetest, and the most knowledgable tea man anywhere around the university! Three cheers for this place

A great find near the university. The baristas are always very knowledgable and friendly. Their teas on tap are delicious. I often just pick a base tea or two and have them whip up a delicious concoction. If you don't specify otherwise, their teas can be quite sweet. Let them know your preferences (for sweeteners, cream/almond milk, etc), and they are happy to accommodate. The price for one drink (for the teas on tap) can be a bit pricy, but if you come back for a same day refill, the first one is .50/$1 (medium/large) and the second refill is free! So if you're planning on staying in the area and getting a few refills, it becomes much more affordable. I enjoy the ambiance of the cafe - there are a mix of tables and couches, but it is usually quite full. There is usually a mix of people doing work and chatting, but the noise level is generally reasonable for getting work done. I've never tried their hot tea or any of the food, but it all looks delicious!

Came here due to the rave reviews and my love for tea. They have an overwhelming selection of unique teas. They are the kinds that you would never think of, such as pumpkin pie and chocolate covered strawberry teas. I was very impressed from the plethora of choices. The ambience was nice and had a hipster/college feel to it. Many students came here to study or hang out. While I initially liked The Scented Leaf, the tea just does not meet up to par. My hot chamomile was watered down and tasteless. The added soy and honey a waste of money because it did not help at all. They shouldn't be so scarce and cheap on their tea. Seriously, I could have just drank water and it would have tasted better. My boyfriend ordered an iced tea beverage from the special menu that tasted like cough syrup. We both did not finish our drinks, left disappointed, and will never come back.

My friend and I swung in here after dinner. What a wonderful shop! The guy working the counter was super friendly and explained all their tea's, how they were organized, etc. You can get a pot of tea, or to go cups, or iced tea. And they have tea on tap! You can also buy anything they have in bulk. After smelling a couple of different ones, I settled on the Spiced Pear. It was delicious. Overall, a great experience. If you love tea, I highly recommend visiting this shop.

I love coming here to study because the environment is very relaxing. There are a wide variety of teas and a few baked goods that are quite well made. What I do like most is their chicken pot pie which contains warm biscuits and the most delicious soup. I normally get the tea service for $4 and resteep the tea for a few hours before leaving. The service is usually quite nice and polite although they could come by to refill the pot more attentively, It's a wonderful place to meet others.

Pumpkin chai for me please! A yummy blend of tea, pumpkin pie spices and almond milk. But there are so, so many more flavors to explore -- including something called Evening in Missoula (?). Just ask the owner to open a canister (or three) and coax the aroma toward your nostrils with a gentle wave of his hand. It was lunch time when I visited, and while they don't have a menu, the homemade chicken and dumpling soup (a family recipe) hit the spot. I love the pillowed seating along one wall and de-caffeinated atmosphere with great music and lots of natural light.

What a wonderful little gem on University! Owner Shane and staffer Camille delightful and willing to take the time to walk you though the concept and educate you about tea. Demystified things for me so now when I buy, drink and enjoy tea it's an authentic experience! Great deals on purchasing teas and grab an ice tea from their 'taps'- mix and match- they are patient and offer you tastings- after walking around the shops and having lunch we came back for the 'refill'... They've created a new 'smooth-tea' concept which I will try next time......a great entrepreneurial effort and we wish them the best of continued success.......a great place to buy gifts! JL

LOVE THIS PLACE. Shane, the owner, has a great business. The staff are all friendly and welcoming, as well as knowledgeable about the products being sold. I appreciate the outstanding, but quick customer service and great tea recommendations. Also, it's refreshing that the staff treats everyone as a regular. They remember, not only faces, but names and drink orders, if the customer likes sweet or spicy, etc. I would definitely recommend this place with 5 stars. Thanks!

I've walked down University and have passed this place several times, each time admiring the soft herbal smells the open door wafts out (if it's fruity, chances are decent that's the hookahs across the street). Needless to say, I forced myself to visit one night, and I wasn't disappointed. First off, the ambiance in here is very nice. The place is dim, yet warmly lit; there's a long couch on one wall and tables everywhere. It looks like a small university hangout- I saw a couple of students the night I came in. Now, for the teas. There were a LOT. I'm no tea person by any means, so the wall behind the counter was a little odd. Thankfully, the girl behind the counter was awesome enough to tell and explain it to me. On her recommendation, I got one of the blue-lined teas- a chocolate blend (the name escapes me sadly), iced and mixed with dark chocolate almond milk. Medium Their policy with the cups is really cool. If you hold on to it, you can get a .50 and later a free refill from the tea taps! For someone that lives close by, you can't really go wrong. The price is a little steep- without tip, the total order came to $3 and some change- but everything else makes up for that.

I've never really sat inside the place but this is a really nice cafe! If you're sick with a cold, get the Lemon-Ginger tea. Ginger really helps with sore throats along with lemon. Service is pretty fast as well

I was looking for a place to have an espresso after dinner and I happened to stumble upon this tea house. I came in and could see that the options were just too many to pick, so I asked the young lady to suggest something. I was really impressed by how she proceeded to try to understand what I liked, and then based on that she made 3 suggestions. They all seemed great, and I ended up picking one. These ladies knew their craft, the suggestion was spot on. I left them a tip, which I felt they more than earned. I will definitely come back next time I'm in Tucson. If you like tea, this is the place to be.

I found this place by chance and was thrilled to see Evening in Missoula tea on the menu. I last had it in the early 90s. It was just as good as I remembered. The two young women behind the counter were both knowledgeable and caring; they came to check on me to see how I liked my tea and if they could do anything else for me. One also put together a special concoction of ginger, chamomile, green rooiboos, lemon, and honey for me. Very soothing!

This is a sweet little tea house on University and Park. It's also heaven for a visual person--their whole tea selection is pictured on the back wall, organized by caffeine level, and their cheesecakes and brownies look just as good as they taste. Over the last six months (give or take), they've added more savory-type stuff, like chicken pot pie and wraps and salads. But all that aside, the real highlights are the tea and the staff. Everyone working there is super friendly, and the owner makes frequent appearances. Better yet, they're all knowledgeable about tea. Friends and I have gone in several times where we walked up to the counter and realized that we had no idea which teas we wanted. Every time we've gotten great recommendations, and every once in a while, we get some new concoctions when they're feeling particularly creative and when we give them a palette of flavors we're looking for. The only downside is that it's tricky to get a table during the school year since it's so popular and so close to the university. But if you tough out the Tucson summer, it becomes an absolutely divine place to sit for a few hours and get some work done. Realistically, it's a good thing tables are scarce nine months out of the year--it means they've got a shot at staying in business! Better still, especially if you're a grad student with a penchant for the iced teas they have on tap (SUCH a great idea!), you can get a couple of refills throughout the day if you come back with the same cup. First refill is a dollar, second refill is free.

I don't like tea snobs. And because I used to be employed by one of the biggest commercial tea companies in the US (and slowly but surely, they'll try to engulf a potential "tea industry" internationally), I know a fair amount about tea. That being said, I stopped in here per the wonderful reviews and was not let down even remotely. The owner, Shane, and the other young woman working there were both incredibly knowledgable and made great recommendations for people who are really into tea and those interested alike... It's also worth mentioning that they're not trying to trick you at all! No gimmicks, no pouring more than 2 ounces into your bag when you're not looking and no tricky sales pitches. The tea is top quality and if you're adventurous, you should let them make you something they like. People who work at tea shops tend to have good taste.

No way this place can have rave reviews. The Chi tea Latte last week was very weakl I don't know why I ordered the scone as it had small fleas flying on the inside of the case. ( remember me yesterday.. You saw them too!) The pies were left unwrapped n left in the case 1/4 left. I took a sip of the Chi and tossed it. Took a bite of the soft mushy scone and tossed it... Yes nice looking place.. Yes nice person but hey when you reach down under the counter for un refrigerated milk.. Count me OUT... !

I have been twice since the tea house opened earlier this month. I like the feel of this place -- tall glass windows bring in plenty of natural light, the wooden seats are comfortable as is the lounge-type area. The space is small, but quite comfortable and cozy. I have tried one of the spiced teas (as a courtesy, that was nice and generous!) and the cream of mushroom soup. The soup was $6 for a bowl and a pita, which I opted to forgo for dietary reasons. The soup was somewhat thin, which surprised me. It wasn't water-thin, but more like the feel of whole milk. But wow! I loved the flavor! I will be back for the soup alone! And I hear they have minestrone, tomato basil and a whole host of others on rotation. Nice -- easy, quick meal. But the price is somewhat steep for soup. You can get a soup and salad across the way for just about $1 more. Bummer. I understand that they will be bringing more sandwiches and homemade recipes on board once school begins Aug. 20. For now, the menu is somewhat limited -- and rightfully slow. Business is miserable along the streetcar's route. That's a nudge to come check out the locally-owned establishments along University, Fourth Ave. and Speedway Blvd. Anyway, the tea display is pretty sweet. There are loose mounds of dried tea leaves, some mixed with flowers and seeds. Nice touch. You get the sense that you are getting the good, authentic stuff.

An entire wall of tea, from spiced pear to mate to green tea mango? Yes, please. For just stopping in to get a cup of tea, this place can feel a bit pricey, but here's how to make it totally worth it: hot tea service. Ask the friendly people behind the counter which teas can be re-steeped, and then order the hot tea service, which comes in a little individual tea pot. Then sit yourself down at the super comfortable wall of couches, set up your laptop, and settle in. There's a great work vibe, as it's often quiet, especially in the mid-morning. Finish your tea? Raise the teapot lid, and they'll refill the hot water, for free! You can also add a friend to your tea service for a small extra charge, which makes the tea even more affordable. There's a version of this with the iced tea, which they have on tap, or you can order any tea iced. The first refill is something like a dollar, and the next one is free. But the hot tea service is my favorite, even when it's hot outside. There's great A/C inside. Their chocolate mousse pie is heavenly (and huge, though a bit pricey), and they often have soup available as well--though not as consistently in the summer. Music is always good, indy but not so strange it's distracting. The people behind the counter also love let you smell the different teas, so don't be shy about asking to smell the tins or taste the teas on tap. It's a great way to branch out from the teas you know and try something new!

I am not a tea person in the least bit but with a bunch of friends that love it and laryngitis for a month, I found myself at the scented leaf more than a few times this month. I have to start off by talking about the service. Always, always, always top notch. So friendly and knowledgable. That alone makes me want to come back again and again. The tea smells great and is good for tea (again I'm not a tea person). My tea knowledgable friends really like it. They also have cheesecake, soup, and pot pies. That was my most recent discovery and I will definitely be back to try all of those goodies. Try a tea here, you won't be disappointed with the experience.

The wall of tea will intimidate newcomers, but the workers there are so nice and informative. They will describe all the flavors to you, and even let you sample some! The person who served me last time I was there was super passionate about all his recommendations and their products. The ambience is great! Nice couches along one of the walls and free wi-fi. You can plug-in and enjoy refill after refill of hot tea service, which definitely makes it worth the time and money. If you get iced tea like I did, I was able to refill mine for an extra $1 and the worker told me the next would be free! Also, the place is generally quiet, which can be a big plus for people who go to coffee shops and the like to work. Also, if you are a chocolate fiend like myself you will love the Bailey's flavored chocolate mousse pie. It's like $7 or so a slice, but you can split it with a friend or take whatever you don't eat home because the portion you get is huge.

The iced tea here is good -- I've tried the pomegranate green tea and mango green tea. What I like is that you can get the first refill for 50 cents, and then the second refill is free. Overall, good quality tea for a good price.

Ordered my first "smooth-tea" today, and I could not be happier! If you don't know exactly what you want or what to try, the crew can definitely help concoct something for you. I love how the shop has been increasing their inventory with new selections of baked goods, more teas on tap, and now the smooth-teas! The Scented Leaf has never disappointed me in the year and a half I've been coming here.

Great huge tea selection and very friendly and helpful staff. The owner gave me a bunch of ideas where to go around town for this and that. Only complaint was that prices were higher than I'm used to paying for tea. Almost $5 for a large black tea with milk..

A unique gem on University Bvld. This tea house is one of a very few number of Tucson businesses that actually pays attention to the details. It's the little things that make the difference between an mediocre and an outstanding experience and Scented Leaf has nailed it. They offer full tea service, which means they prepare a pot of tea and serve it to your table. You can also get both hot and iced teas to go. I definitely suggest checking out their selection of iced teas as it's a refreshing change from the boring green or black tea options available at the large coffee chains. The selection of teas is extensive and both Shane and the employees have impressive knowledge of the qualities of each tea. Not a tea snob? Not to worry, they will definitely help you find something you will love. Surprisingly the deserts that they have are incredible as well. I'm a fan of the white chocolate cheesecake. All in all an excellent experience. I highly suggest giving it a try, even if you're not usually a tea drinker!

I have to adjust my earlier review. The shop has expanded its selection a great deal and I have several favorites among them. The pie slices have gotten a bit smaller but still large enough to share. I recommend the house black iced and the earl gray (creme) hot. You can sweeten your tea with honey or sugar and there's honey for iced tea specially so you don't end up with a chunk of the stuff. It's kept behind the counter, just ask nicely for it. Happy hour is 4-7 and definitely worth going to. The music they play overhead is nice too.

LOVE scented leaf! everybody there is very knowledgable and friendly and will take 20 minutes if you need it, to explain all the different teas to you. Max is always especially helpful!

This place has great service, great tea, and an awesome atmosphere. The owner and staff are very friendly and kind. The tea service is a good way to go if you are looking to stay for a while but all of their drinks are good. It's a nice place to relax and hangout or get some studying done with easy access to caffine.

I have been drinking tea since I was born. My mom got me hooked - and since I have been out on my own, I have become somewhat of a tea-snob. Not intentionally of course. I was so excited to try this place. It definitely hit the spot after a night of wine-ing. The staff was more than helpful making a selection based on your likes/dislikes. I am more of a natural/earthy tea drinker and got a lovely tea. The tea-tender let us smell the loose-leaf before making our decisions. I was thouroghly impressed when the tea was brewed at the proper temperature and for the proper length of time based on the tea. Rubioos, Herbal, Black, Green and flavored (I am probably missing some from the list) are all here. You can purchase loose-leaf or buy a single cup. They have sweetners (honey and sugar) as well as milk available. A first for me - they had a tea on tap of the most popular (these were served cold).

Really like this place! The atmosphere is great, and I love how it is super close (practically on) campus. I have only tried the tea- love how many choices they have- but can't wait to try some of the patries/food. Great tea house and cafe!

Great selection of tea. You can get tea service (unlimited tea) for $4! Score! But the place is a little dirty with paint chipped off of the walls and their teapot they served was also chipped in a few places. It looked kinda cheap. I guess I'll excuse it for their cheap tea that I can drink non stop while studying. Wish they had some organic options too. The staff is friendly but they are a bit slow on refilling water for my tea pot. I had to go to the counter myself a few times to ask in a 2 1/2 hour time span.

Tea: The tea is amazing. But... BUT! The baristas need to calm down with the sugar. I don't take my tea with sugar and had several instances where they would put it in my drink when I specified not to. Friends of mine have also complained about their tea being way too sweet, so they would end up watering it down. I also like how they don't mind whipping you up something. You ask the baristas for recommends, and they are more than happy to help. Food: I think that it's a bit overpriced. The turtle cheesecake is delicious! But with a large cup of tea on tap and a plate of cheesecake equates to about $10. Come on. Not all poor college students can afford that. Area: It's usually crowded inside, so I tend to sit outside. I understand that the area is small, so SL can't really put all of these tables in the front. It's a bit annoying to be sitting outside during the rush hours. You get hit my various bags and people, as everyone walks back and forth in the area.

Yay I like this place.. tea service (pot of tea with water refills) for $4.00.. and they offer a huge selection of teas as well. The only problem I have with this place is the ambiance.. the owner's or managers need to take better care of this place. There were chipped tea pots, peeling paint on walls, and overall a sense of dare I say dirtiness? Really would like them to clean up house literally.. and maybe I would like to come and study here more

Love this place! Service is friendly and helpful, food and tea is excellent, the atmosphere is bright and welcoming...the only reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 is because every time I come in I do so with the apparently futile and naive hope that they might be serving lobster bisque again. I had it once here last December, and would genuinely be willing buy a bowl every single time it's available if they offered it as regularly as harvest vegetable soup. Edit: A few days after I wrote this, lobster bisque appeared on the menu again. Made my week, so I'm amending my review to add another star and say few places I know of are as kind and attentive to its customers as The Scented Leaf, and I can't think of anywhere else I'd rather spend the better part of my day studying. This place is great!

The tea here is amazing and there are a lot to choose from. They have teas on tap or they will make you something perfect. The guy that helped me was very knowledgeable and was happy to let me try different things. Right across the street from the University. Worth the visit!

This is one of my favorite places to go and study. The tea is really good and there are endless options!! The environment is super great, the one down side to this place is that there isn't a lot of seating. I get the teas that are on tap and one of my favorite things to do I ask to staff to surprise me, I've been coming here for 3 years and I have yet to get a tea I didn't like, they really know what they are doing!! I love this place!

Super cute little tea place! It's always busy and you can never find a place to sit, so be forewarned. The workers are super helpful if you don't know what to get, I always end up trying something new. The refill deal is awesome if you plan on being around for a while. I would definitely recommend for non coffee drinkers!

You know, I love tea, and I live on University meaning I'm in the area 24/7, so in hindsight I really have no idea why I had never tried The Scented Leaf before. Maybe because when it first started up it looked a little sketchy? They definitely seem to have come a long way now though: the place is adorable, and wonderfully quiet. I needed refuge today from the rain, so I came in and automatically gravitated to their earl grey creme offering. I know it's boring, but I'm English, so when I found out they offered it with vanilla? Amazing! The barista (tea-rista?) suggested half-n-half with extra vanilla, and I was game. It was a little slow to come out, although I get it because it was loose leaf tea. When she asked me how sweet I wanted it I said medium, and I agree with other people who said it was quite sweet. I still thoroughly enjoyed it, although next time I'll opt for mild. I also have to say I didn't think the shop was dirty at all; I snagged the table by the window (giving me a great view of the rain) with my tea and laptop, and I was pretty much as content as a girl can get for the two hours I spent working. The place really just is very cute and trendy; I'll certainly be spending a lot of time here studying now. Everyone at The Scented Leaf was so genuine and helpful - I think between Starbucks and Espresso Art Cafe I'd kind of forgotten what truly exceptional service looks like!

I have only had one cup of tea from this place, but it was really, really good. I'm going to go back when they aren't quote so busy so I can do a more detailed review, but first impression is... well, impressive.

I am so happy that I discovered The Scented Leaf. I have always loved tea, but this place has made me a complete tea fanatic. Seriously, it is almost embarrassing how many times I visit daily. The ambience is very relaxing, and they have a huge selection of teas lined up on the wall like the Periodic Table, increasing in caffeine potency as you move down the rows (flashbacks to AP Chem, anyone?). I love that they have teas on tap, and the customer service is the best I've ever experienced (except for one guy who is kind of unfriendly). The baristas (tea-ristas?) seem like they are enjoying their job, are always smiling and chatty, and give great suggestions when you are unsure of what to order. I like how they ask me to taste my drink after it is made so they can adjust it if need be. I used to get the House Black iced with milk and sugar when it was on tap, but they recently replaced it with Positively Peach so now I alternate between getting other stuff from the tap and paying extra for them to make it from loose leaves. I was never a huge fan of fruity teas, which comprise most of the teas on tap, but I am warming up to the Green Tea Mango and the Papaya Passion. I like to get my tea to go, browse around the boutiques next door, and come back for a refill, which is a dollar for large and 50 cents for medium- and the second refill is free! Anyway, my point is that I HIGHLY recommend this place- please try the House Black, or at least ask to smell it. It is divine. Now that I have left Tucson, I will miss the friendly customer service, but I plan on ordering the House Black online for... well... a very long time.

I'm a huge fan of this place! If you're looking for a place to study, wind down, read, hang out... anything. This place is great, especially if you're a tea fanatic like myself. Their selection is out of this world! They have teas "on tap" for you to pick from while you're there. Or, if you'd like you can order a pot of tea with unlimited hot water refills for $4 (give or take). So you can definitely just hang out and enjoy some tea, because the teas can actually retain the flavor for quite a few refills. Anyhow, the atmosphere is very relaxing and calm. It is conveniently located on University Blvd. If you're a student or just a tea fanatic, you must take advantage of this place. The staff is also super friendly and welcoming.

My favorite Tucson tea house. Locally owned and one of the friendliest tea-savvy staffs I've ever met. With a relaxing, light atmosphere, skillfully blended drinks, and a highly accessible location near campus, it's no wonder this little nook has a growing influx of repeat customers. Big windows allow the interior of the building to fill with natural light. For the sun-hungry, enjoy an exterior seating area (there's some shade, too) just outside. For those more prone to burn rather than tan, the inside hosts a comfortable arrangement of tables and chairs. If you're in for the long haul, seat yourself on the couch and find some study buddies while drinking heavily caffeinated teas on tap. This is the place where I learned that--for the most part--I prefer herbals to teas. Suggested by the servers, many of whom I've come to know by face and name, the arrangements of herbals and teas is vast yet Iess intimidating if you know your preferences. If you're not quite sure what you like just yet, start on tap an work your way up to the board above, or ask for some help. I guarantee you'll get a smile and some awesome recommendations. And it's right on campus. Get away from the usual Starbucks and try some tea! It's affordable, you can build up to a free drink after your fifth purchase, and the teas on tap get cheaper per refill (free for the third cup)! And oh, if you happen to run into Max--ask for his Matcha tea with brown sugar, house style. It's out of this world.

Once upon a time when they first opened I would find refuge in the peaceful/spacious place called The Scented Leaf. Now all of UofA is aware of how amazing they are- yet they still have the best tea selection you've ever seen! It's worth enduring the masses of college students. If you are a new tea drinker, or a seasoned one, they know their stuff! They also know how to make it taste good. I LOVE that they have multiple teas on tap, and of course can steep any tea you'd like. Their rewards system is simple/lifetime and attainable. True story - two years since visiting I still had a free drink waiting for me when I punched in my email. They also have coffee stuff for you coffee people, small amount of food offerings and many things you can mix into your tea. Long live tea - and let me know when you open a location in Phoenix!!!

AMAZING! Shane was so phenomenally knowledgeable about each and every kind of tea. I went in for some for my mom's birthday present and left with that plus tea for myself! AND they have teas ON TAP! Seriously a great company with great products. I will be ordering more for delivery to San Diego soon!

This place is awesome! The drinks are affordable and very healthy. I've been here a few times with my girlfriend and glad I found this place. It's pretty cool that you can get your 2nd refill (with their teas on tap) for $1 and your 3rd refill is free!

Best place for tea. Menu is practically endless so it's best to ask the staff for some recommendations if you aren't knowledgeable in the tea department. Much better prices and quality than Starbucks. Staff is so friendly and helpful. I recommend "summer time sadness" it's tea with strawberry lemonade and all sorts of other good stuff

Great causal place to try a new flavor of tea but don't expect to sit on their extremely comfy looking couches during high time in the semester. Literally, my number one issue is there's no place to sit!! Other than that I've had good experiences with the tea. Depending on what you get determines how long you wait, brew time and what not. I like getting the fig tea! It kind of tastes like a gummy bear but tea version. I don't really like their tea lattes however. They add too much ice in ratio to the milk and no tea so I have this weird watery milk drink for the rest of the day. Just go with regular ice tea. Or hot.

I just went here for the first time and I was a little intimidated with how and what to order but the employees were so knowledgeable and helpful! This is one of our favorite places in Tucson. Never mind that it's dangerously close to campus; the tea baristas (is that what they're called?) are incredibly knowledgable, friendly, and helpful. The tea selection is awesome, and we love the tea concoctions on tap. Refills are $.50 the first time, and free the second! We love how much time the staff will spend with each customer, ensuring they get exactly the right drink. We come here on a regular basis and Scented Leaf never disappoints.

  • Alice K.

The iced tea here is good -- I've tried the pomegranate green tea and mango green tea. What I like is that you can get the first refill for 50 cents, and then the second refill is free. Overall, good quality tea for a good price.

I just went here for the first time and I was a little intimidated with how and what to order but the employees were so knowledgeable and helpful! I ended up getting a matcha latte (essentially) and it was delicious. I can't wait to go back again. I can see this being one of my new go-to places :)

  • Mariana C.

Fantastic tea, and remarkably knowledgeable tea...uh...baristas? Their endless tea service is my personal favorite--ideal for long study sessions and the like. Just remember that this place is popular, and often fairly busy.

  • Christina D.

Or hot.

  • Kristen C.

  • Richa S.

Thanks!
