This is a sports bar and restaurant.... They built on a game room using a couple of big train cars.... Seems like the perfect place to take a kid who's obsessed with trains and football to watch a football game, right? Wrong! We arrived just in time to catch a game recently and found an empty table -- plenty of empty tables. Despite having been acknowledged when we walked in the door, we had to wait a while for a server. It seemed that there was some sort of controversy with an older man who looked like the owner or manager, as he kept giving us stink eye. We finally flagged down the waitress and asked her for menus as we proceeded to order beers (unfortunately not a great beer selection -- and no AZ breweries at all). After taking our order and consulting again with the older man, the waitress delivered all of our beers and told my wife and I that only one of us was allowed to drink. This is apparently their policy for parents, which seems a little excessively nannyish. Not wanting to inconvenience the rest of our group, we said we would go along with this policy, but didn't agree with it... nor did we agree that we should have been allowed to order and then have the rules change (or rather have the rules dictated to us as though we had done something wrong). Our friends, however, all agreed with us and decided that we should hasten our exit. Meanwhile, the owner/manager/old guy stared us down some more.... so we confronted him and confirmed that he was the owner. When asked what his problem was, the owner/old guy responded in a high pitched and defensive voice that there was no problem at all, before explaining that there was in fact a problem. It went downhill from there..... Apparently, he was worried for our son -- not that our son had done anything terribly wrong, but this guy worried greatly about his safety. We reminded him how awkward and uncomfortable his "concern" was, which is when he pulled out his heavy artillery..... He pointed out that our son was crawling on the floor earlier (which we also didn't like, but it's tough keeping a child occupied while staff is reviewing whether or not to offer service). He took it a step further to ask us if we had considered that our son could lose an appendage.... Ummm, no, we don't usually think in those terms.... And that's when he flashed his hand in the air with missing fingers and explained that he had lost his fingers as a child (presumably because of neglectful parenting and maybe bars -- must have somehow been related). Blam! There was the hand, right in our faces! It was uncomfortable, to say the least, so we simply expressed condolences for this man's missing appendage(s) and reminded him that we didn't need to feel harassed any further. We then left and swore to never ever return.

How a sports bar can bite. 4 onion rings as a side. Staff too busy chatting with themselves instead of customers. Not one thanks guys for coming in And food was slop. I don't see how they are in business.

This could be the best bar in town. The Depot has an extremely friendly staff that will remember your face and your drink after just one or two visits. A lot of the business comes from regulars that never seem to leave the place, but also from people that enjoy singing or listening to karaoke. With about 20 big screen and plasma TVs, this is an amazing place to watch any sporting event (you even get your own speaker at your table to listen to any show you want). The drinks are priced better than most places in town and the food is surprisingly delicious. Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday are karaoke nights and usually the busiest, but every night is fun. There are pool tables and one of the only indoor smoking rooms in Tucson (don't worry, it's blocked off from the main room). Come alone, with a small group, or even a large one. The bar is ample and can fit any size on most nights.

Walking through the smoking section to get to the restaurant/bar should've been my first warning. Then things went downhill. My friend and I each ordered a margarita with Hornitos. I know I'm at a sports bar, so I don't expect much more than generic maragarita mix with a splash of tequilla and a lime garnish. Boy were we disappointed. At first we tried stirring, licking a little bit of the salt rim, and adding more lime, all to no benefit. We finally asked the waitress if we could have something with a little more margarita in it. She agreeably took our drinks away and set off to make us another. She comes back with 2 much shorter, much greener drinks and suggested when get on the rocks next time because they don't have fancy mixes, so its hard not to make them too icy. Okay??? Our drinks were worse, no taste of sweetness or tequilla. The lime taste came with a serious bitterness. What we did have a lot of was RIND. Pulverized rind. Now I know how they make their margaritas.

Tons of TVs, large dining room and bar, usually a laid back crowd. It's typical bar food - I had a sandwich and it was ok. They have a decent beer selection, and it's not too pricey. The main reason I like it is the crazy food specials - Friday is a fish fry. It's two HUGE pieces of fish, which are tender and the batter is tasty, tons of fries and toast for $7.50 - my husband got the half order for $3.75, and he took some home. You could seriously have dinner and drinks and walk out paying under $15 for two people - not shabby at all.

Interesting. It feels like a good ol Harley bar with it's dressed up dressed down image, nice on the inside (looks completely redone, but is not all flashy) and "Rustic" on the outside. I wouldn't call it a dive, but then again maybe I would....I dunno. It's worth checking out if you like sports and cheap brews, the people seem rather friendly and very down to earth.... I only caught a white-trash side about twice... pretty good I would say.

I went for lunch. They served the typical, satisfying, sports bar food. Good stuff. Everything is reasonable. A million tvs, smoking room, and free pool/shuffle board until happy hour ends. Awesome sports bar.

I have driven by this place for years and last night I went in and stayed for a while. We went with some folks that are younger than us and I am pretty sure that we were the oldest people there. My first impression was good, they have a great high end selection of booze so I knew right away it would be easy to find something to drink. My second impression was a bartender that thought his shit didn't stink. My husband and I were basically ignored and when we did get served it was like he couldn't give two shits that we were paying his bills. When our two younger girl friends walked in it was like a different story, he was like "good evening ladies, how are you? What can I get you lovely ladies this evening?" One thing was consistent, he can't pour a beer or a drink! We ended up at a table were I asked the waitress if she could transfer our tab to her and she did. They got really busy and she was the only server. She stayed up on us like a champion, we never had empty drinks, and we were puttin'm down. The food was good for bar food and priced well. I don't care about sports but I can see how it would be a great place to watch a game. Another thing I don't care about is smokers having a place to smoke but you can smoke on one side of the outdoor patio and they also have a separate totally enclosed smoking room. Overall I think I will try it again and next time I will play shuffle board.

Bartender pulled a fast one. He did not honor the full $10 value of the Yelp online coupon saying it only applied with purchase of $20 or more. Nowhere on coupon did it say that.

Good beer selection. Tons of TV for watching games. Nachos are yummy and huge servings. Chicken strips and fries were great. Prices were reasonable and service was good. I think I'll be coming back for a game sometime.

Totally average food. Nice staff, if not a bit aloof. But they have cheap beer! $2 pints on Sunday. Skip the french fries...

Nothing Fancy and Nothing Expected I'm going with the fact that they are close to home, offer absolutely no good service, karaoke is at best spotty--folks last night were awesome, the week before not so much. But what makes the depot awesome is no expectations--sometimes its fantastic and others not so much. The food is good, the alcohol cheap and usually its pretty clean. There are some freaks--but that makes it fun. So all in all, I'm in. Not because they're great, but because they are what they are.

If it were all about the food, this place would rate a lot higher. I am delivering a sucker punch to the gut for service. So, this is a sports bar, right? Sports bars and Monday night football are a no-brainer, right? We showed up at a little after 6:30 during Monday night football. A transcript of ensuing dialogue: Waitress, as she hands us menus: Are you ready to order? Us: Huh? We may need some time to look at the menu. Me: Any specials? Waitress: It's happy hour until 7:00. Beers are $2.50, and $3.50. Me: IPA please Wife: Iced Tea please Drinks are delivered. Fast forward at least twenty minutes during which time we did not see our waitress. We were starting to wonder if she were fired. Waitress: Is everything OK? Me: Uh no, I would like another beer please. Is it still happy hour? Her: No, happy hour ended five minutes ago. ~Quizzical glances exchanged between wife and me.~ Me: Any other specials tonight? Her: No, everything is regular price but some stuff is cheaper than others. Me: Please just bring me a PBR. Her: We don't have that. Me: What do you have? Her: Miller, Bud, Pabst... Do I need to go on? The food was really good but they should really hire some better servers. By the way, the PBR was $1.75. Guess it goes up during happy hour.

Came by for some food with a friend. The server was very rushed, even though they weren't busy. When she took our order, she yelled across the room, from behind the bar. Couldn't even come over to talk to us. The burger was okay. But my friend's club came with soggy chips and white tomatoes. We're pretty easy going but when she took our order by yelling over the loud music across the room, we were over it.

I have been here three times, each with a very different crowd and for different reasons. First time I came in with some friends and we sat at the bar, had a few drinks, BS'd, and moved on with our night. No complaints on this one. Second time I met some friends here to watch football and eat hangover food. Mission accomplished. The seating area is large, there are a lot of TV's, and our server was decent enough. No complaints on this one. Third time I came here with a friend to sit at the bar and have a drink and BS, and we ended up playing pool, shuffle-board and dancing to the juke box. This time was better than the others. Had a really fun time. As you can see, this bar is pretty versatile. There were more people in the smoking section than the rest of the bar each time. Also, I haven't been here for karyoke night, but a lot of ppl like it, so that could be a fourth thing this place has to offer. My expectations of sports bars aren't incredibly high to begin with, so this place is definitely A-OK.

First, let me say this place is a 3 1/2. Second, this place is a step up from the bars I've been to. They make their own potato chips, which are a bit too peppery, but great nonetheless. Their burgers are really good, and they aren't stacked so high you have to unhinge your jaw to eat them. Their beer selection is very nice, and their bartender is pretty good. When you ask what he has on tap, he asks what you like and can then give you a couple selections that fit that profile. The first few times I went, there was only one guy who was waiting tables in the entire place and tending bar, but still managed to do things fairly well. Usually when you're doing a lot of stuff like that, something suffers, and not just your frayed nerves. The last time I went, last week, there were a waitress and the bartender, and while the waitress seemed new, was very friendly and sweet, so she made up for the extra wait.

I was REALLY surprised at how nice this place is! They have a pretty decent selection of beer on tap, good food (we had calamari fries and the nachos), lots of tv's and an indoor smoking patio with pool tables! What more could you ask for? As some of the other reviews noted, the bartenders are not the friendliest people on Earth, but we didn't have a problem getting our correct food/drinks in a timely manner. I will definitely come here again, it's a great place for watching some Sunday football too.

In response to the crazy lady who visited The Depot on Nov. 29th-I'm the karaoke host and this is what happened - Derek, a Depot employee (not a manager) was singing, drinking and having a good time. His song had some cuss words in it and he was drinking (hey it's a bar!). I've watched this lady's group come in the past two weeks and buy one salad for a group of 5 and drink water all night long. Their group spent $8.00 that night but sang all night long. They were so cheap they even brought their own Koolaid to put in their water, they wouldn't even spring for a tea. But...if you are looking for great food, drinks, and fun, come on down to The Depot. We have karaoke every Saturday night starting at 9pm and the food is awesome!

Would be a decent sports bar/grill if it didn't have the worst service I've ever encountered in Tucson. During a game viewing party (wasn't very crowded), people in our party waited up to 1.5 hours for their food, and received no apology or discount until arguing with management. The waitress was very confused and told us the wrong price for pitchers. After explaining to management, we were still charged the higher price, even though we wouldn't have ordered more than one pitcher if we knew how much they cost. Then, we waited 30 minutes to close our tab and the waitress had to check with us four separate times about what we ordered. The manager was fairly unapologetic and offered no discount. The burnt out sign may say EPT, but we aren't exactly pregnant with anticipation to return to The Depot.

It's a pretty good place on Ft Lowell Rd, they had some okay specials and the game on. Fish tacos pretty good. Kind of dark. They have shuffleboard.

The youthful days of hanging out in a pool hall have long passed and I'm not a patron of sports bars, being a teetotaler, but somehow my curiosity lead me to the Depot today and it was quite enjoyable. I was drawn by the train car exterior and was amazed at the sight of so many sports fans enjoying Sunday morning football on all the large screen TVs running wall-to-wall. The food and sodas came in servings big enough for a lumberjack. I had the Birdie, which was a Club, and it was super tasty and came with homemade potato salad. My partner ordered the "Toledo Walleye", which was actually battered surimi. She pronounced it "quite good." The French fries side order was excellent. We regretted not ordering the fresh potato chips. It'd be a fun place to return with friends to watch a big sporting event, like when the Wildcats play Oregon!

This review will be a bit jaded. We were there during a PAC 12 playoff game, Friday night, plenty of Wildcat patrons. That being said , we had splendid service from JR! You would have thought we were at the Rtiz Carlton, he was so attentive and informative. My husband thinks the menu is delicious, my thoughts are that the food is better than average for bar food. Environment is super clean, especially for a neighborhood bar. Drink prices reflect that! Great atmosphere!

I've found my regulation-sized shuffleboard table!!!!!! (Thank you, Felicia P!) When we first arrived, we grabbed a table and ordered some food and brew. There were plenty of TVs all over the place. I wasn't really into any of the teams playing so I asked for a trivia game and focused my attention there (think the games at Buffalo Wild Wings). Maybe it's because we were seated close to where servers came out from the bar/kitchen area but we were constantly asked how we were doing and/or if we needed anything. The service wasn't bad at all. The food was above average bar food. I felt like they had a lot of nice choices in case you weren't craving a plate full of grease. The ( served purposely cold) roast beef sandwich was delicious and I really dug their coleslaw. It wasn't mayo-based and tasted fresh and yummy. After some food, sports/trivia and a couple of pitchers, I whooped my better half on the shuffleboard table. If shuffleboard isn't your thing, there's a large adjacent room with several pool tables (also the smoking room). I had a really good experience, overall.

The Depot was the go to bar for my crowd was I was living in Tucson. Karaoke was hosted by a manager from the hotel I used to work at and consonantly everyone I am friends with loooves karaoke. I have thousands of pictures and millions of memories tied into the Depot but over the years the appeal has faded a little. The drinks are still super cheap and the bartenders are great but it just wasn't the same last time I was down there. Not being a huge sports fan or in to video trivia, karaoke was really the only thing bringing us back. The new host is OK, but something is still missing from the glory days.

I have found my new hangout!! YES! :) Personally I had a great time. Other than the cheap drinks...which sold me from the get go, they have KARAOKE!! I stopped in on a Saturday night around 11 and it was busy but not crowd crushing. Needless to say a great time! And for future use I found out that on top of the pool tournaments they have there on Wednesday nights that they open the tables on Saturday and Sunday for free pool! Anyway it was a big score for me since I live in the neighborhood!

Great food... Great environment... Lots of tvs... Tons of seating... SEVERELY understaffed. Was here for the Arizona vs. 2 Oregon football game ...place was packed but was able to walk in and get a seat instantly... Lots of tvs, not a bad seat in the house. Unfortunately, every time I have been here there has only been one waitress for the entire dining area. Meh.

Wow, this place has gone downhill. I used to go the The Depot years ago when I lived in the area. The service was good, the food was good and they always had the game you we looking for. Now: they have the game you're looking for. The male bartender was young and cocky and seemed like he always had something better to do than take my order or bring my food. The female bartender was no different except that she wasn't young and she chomped on her gum like a Jersey cow. The nachos here used to be awesome so I ordered them. I waited and waited some more before I went to the bar to see where they were. They came out soon after that, however, theg were not the nachos of old. They were smothered in cheap nacho cheese sauce that was cold by now. The chips were soggy and the "chili" was a thin smear on top. When I paid my bill I told the bartender that I liked the way they did the nachos in the past with shredded cheese. He replied "you could have ordered them that way." The menu did not have that option. It just said "Nachos". I will not be back.

So we stopped in here on a Friday night after dinner to continue a birthday celebration. It was not busy at all, but I am okay with that. We were able to take over the shuffle board table and had a great time. The wait staff provided us with fresh popped popcorn (for 50 cents I believe) and they were quick and nice. After we were done with the shuffle board we headed to the pool tables. Again, good seating, tables are decent. Overall I really like this place. Its more than just a bar, we were able to play some games, talk to each other and drink at a very reasonable price. I will definitely be back when looking for a place to continue the party.

Great bar food, huge selection of beers. If you're out for a good time with the boys or even want to bring a date The Depot is a great place to meet. Been coming here for years and it's as good now as ever. Love the staff - they always go the extra mile.

This place needs a new weekend cook. One weekend we were served 4 orders of badly burned onion rings. Dried to a shivel and dark brown. Our burgers were overcooked too. Couple weeks later I was served seriously burned potato skins. I asked for another order: the cook refused. He said "they will be the same because the skins are too small and they all burn." What kind of a cook is that? The amount of food he's cooking is too small for the time and temperature he chose?

I cannot believe how great this place is. My friend and I can enjoy a cigar in the pool room which has air conditioning. Watch our favorite news or sports program while having a great lunch. Their specials are fantastic. From meatloaf to tacos ans their burgers are great. On top of all of that, they have very friendly staff that take great care of us. I love this place.

Passing thru Tucson, I was looking for a place to watch some NFL. I found this place on the web and thought I'd give it a try. It was dark when I went looking for the place. I nearly drove right by it because their sign wasn't lit...trust me, because of the slightly remote location, this is easy to do. The inside seemed quaint, but awfully quiet for Monday Night Football. I ordered potato skins and a beer. I asked for a side of buffalo sauce to go with my skins...which I was charged for. The skins were average...not bad, but I've had much, much better ones elsewhere. There are some pool tables and plenty of seating available...or maybe it seemed so because so few patrons were inside. There were lots of TVs to watch the game. So I can't help but wonder why there were so few people inside...uninteresting MNF game that night...or could it be due to a bad location for the business, a bad reputation, bad food, or something I didn't experience? Other than having a hard time locating this place at night (cause the sign was unlit), I find this place acceptable. I think this place has potential but may need a bit more attention from management.

We came here last night for a few drinks and to check the place out. My fiance has been trying to get me to go, and my New Years Resolution is to stop saying no to everything new. We walked in, and weren't sure if you had to seat yourself or if there was a hostess, but nobody at the bar acknowledged us walking in, so we just sat ourselves. We were very quickly approached by a guy who sat a huge white binder on our table and explained, to my horror, that it was karaoke night. I have taken singing lessons, have had solos in choirs, and sing constantly at home, but there is something about karaoke that I just wont do. We sat for a while before the waitress came up and apologized for the wait. I ordered and Arizona Sunrise, and Richard got the Hurricane. Before we got our drinks, Mr. Karaoke came up and asked us if we had picked a song. Richard said he had, but was trying to get me to sing also. Our drinks finally came out and we ordered the Depot Sampler. The karaoke guy came up again. Five minutes later, he came up again. We tried to order different drinks, but when I flagged the waitress down and said I would like another drink, she took that to mean I wanted the same one and didn't even ask Richard if he wanted another one. When she got back, he said he would like another Hurricane and two Jaeger bombs. The Jaeger bombs were warm, even the energy drinks were room temperature. (during which time, the karaoke guy came up AGAIN, and asked if I needed more "liquid courage") Our appetizers came out after a while, and it wasn't horrible, but it wasn't amazing. Actually, the mozzarella sticks, which I don't really like, were really tasty. The breading on them was very flavourful. Karaoke guy came up while we were eating. Our waitress never came back after that. I had been harassed enough by Richard(reminding me of my resolution) and the karaoke guy to sing Paradise By The Dashboard Light with Richard. It was horrifying. Nothing to do with the bar, or it's rating, but I did not want to do it, and it was just as humiliating as I had thought it would be. We flagged down our waitress, who, when she was actually at our table, very pleasant and after another 10 minutes we got our check and left. I think it was pretty expensive, after by myself having two Arizona Sunrises, two Jeager Bombs and a Blue Moon Beer to not feel any kind of buzz. It doesn't take me a whole lot to get a little tipsy, and I sure didn't leave with that feeling. In all, I am not sure I will be back, definitely not on karaoke night.

I read up the previous comments about The Depot, so I went there with a bit of trepidation. My Girl Friend was having a rough week at work, so I told her to meet me there for drinks, dinner and for me to get my college football fix. For being a sports bar during the championship weekend you'd expect it to be pretty busy. There were maybe 4 guys up at the bar and a few patrons sitting in the main area. The beer's were cold, served in ice cold glasses, and the cosmopolitans my date was sucking down were, in her words, good and strong. We ordered off the menu, I having the shredded beef nachos and Trixie the Bacon and Egg burger. Both were excellent. The only hangup was that the nacho's were served with the sour cream in one of those small plastic cups, with a lid. A big scoop on the side of the nachos would have been better. Two thumbs up for The Depot. I don't understand what people don't like about it. I thought it was OK and will be back.

This is a regular dive bar. They try to get creative with their specialty mix drinks but some of them are just weird and fall short of what you expect and want. Food is pretty good except it took the wait staff forever to get a meal out (and we were the only ones there!). Imagine how slow it would be if it were busy. Not to mention that they got my order wrong.

The Depot has a pretty good atmosphere especially for sports fans. I've been here a few times and it's pretty good, I mean it doesn't grab me and shake me and make me want to rush back like some bars, but I have a good time here. The inside is surrounded with large TVs usually filled with sports, and you get a little table radio device to tune into to any of the TVs. Outside you can smoke and they have a TV or two to keep watching. The waiter service was pretty good the latest time I went although the waitress would start to make small talk at our table and then walk away just as we were chatting. It was kind of strange. And she disappeared for a while and we had to hunt someone else down to get a bill. But otherwise we were checked on often and got the beer refilled. I give this thumbs up for the sports bar angle. And a good place to shoot pool. It crowds up on Sunday football days and there are all kinds of drink specials that day.

This establishment is the absolute worst place I have ever been. A few friends and I went there on Saturday Nov. 29th to karaoke and have some dinner. The food was just nasty and not worth the money. As far as the karaoke went, we were enjoying ourselves when this drunk obnoxious idiot named Derrick got up and very loudly screamed out a song and it was very offensive. It included the f--k word numerous times. He was about 21. Not cool. Then we found out thst this punk was the manager!!! He showed no respect for anyone else there. Then he got more drunk. When we complained to the owner he said "he's just having fun". Like he condones this kind of thing!! Ridiculous!! Then the owner accused us of not buying anything and told us to take our business elsewhere! We all bought dinner!!! This place is definately not worth your time and the food sucks! I would not recommend this place to anyone unless you like drunk punks who think they are all that. Don't bother. They could care less!! When I tried to post this it wouldn't let me unless I chose a star rating. I tried to give one star so I could post this. It highlighted all the stars!!! I didn't want to give them any stars. THEY SUCK!!!!!

Lots of TVs, lots of tables, already a good start. Service is lacking, but may depend on your server. Drinks were inconsistent - the first was like water and the second was significantly stronger with a noticeable color difference. Sweet potato fries were ABSOLUTE delicious.

Unfortunately, this place should get a high rating. We came here Saturday I have some friends who are karaoke die hards. The karaoke was fine it was actually quite decent. However, let me tell you about our experience. We had 5 people sitting at our table it was a slow Saturday night since a game was playing. There were only 3 tables of people sitting and the bar was kind of busy. There were two waitresses and yet our waitress her name is, Christy, couldn't even get our orders straight. We waited on our waitress a lot. She wouldn't make eye contact with us. She definitely was terrible she didn't check on us for over 45 minutes!!! I finally went to another waitress and asked if she could take care of our table. She said sure no problem and low and behold Christy the waitress came back. I asked for all of us to be checked out. She overcharged us she said that my friend had 5 pale ale beers which she had 3. She out on my husbands tab that he had 2 guiness and he only had 1. This place sucked and if we go again I am telling you all now do not let Christy the waitress wait on you! This is not her calling. I could not get over how bad the service was. I hope we don't go however the karaoke is pretty good there and with my friends who are die hards I am sure we will. The food is decent and that is the positive of the situation. Good luck for others when going!

Beer:always cold and delicious. Shuffle Board: I always lose but never find myself feeling like a loser ( it's my Sunday cardio). Football: um t.v.'s everywhere...duh! Depot: fun, laid back, friendly service and pretty awesome people watching. I have no complaints. 4 stars only because I have strangely never eaten here. But if you're anything like me this review probably had you at, "beer, shuffle board and football".

Love it! Great place to watch sports and not too crowded. A wall of flat screen televisions and speakers you can set up on your table. But, what blew me away was the food. None of us were expecting great food in this place. Onion rings, chicken wrap, french dip... It was sublime. You can get your sandwiches and burgers with freshly made potato chips. Yes! And I will never forget our cuter than a button and about to burst pregnant waitress. She was just getting off her shift and she told us we were her last table before she went on maternity leave. It warmed the cockles of my heart.

Slowest service ever, appetizers came out with main courses, burgers were cold, server continuously avoided our table to the point we were raising our hands like school kids to get her attention and it still took several minutes...manager apologized by trying to get us to understand they had a large group in also...he did take one item off our bill when pressed but was less than happy about it for sure...I live fairly close and will go out of my way to avoid this place in the future, which is sad because its kinda cool on the inside and has more tv's than most electronics stores.
