I have began to question humanity. Last week, someone stole my iPhone, credit card, and drivers license. I arrived in Tucson Arizona late last night and was reunited with my family. We decided this morning to go have breakfast for the Fourth of July. While at the restaurant we were waiting patiently for our check, when the waitress came to us and told us that a gentleman had already paid for our breakfast. Humanity lives on! I would like to express my gratitude to that stranger for his random act of kindness. And a happy Fourth of July to all!

Stopped by here on the way back from the Biosphere. It's a nice comfortable place to have a meal. We had lunch items, meatloaf and chicken fried steak. Both were excellent. the accompanying salad, well, iceberg lettuce should just be banned in my opinion and hamburger sliced size tomatoes on top, well that's really shouldn't be on a salad. A couple came in just after us and had a breakfast meal. Theirs came out quicker than ours (1pm), so maybe that's the specialty of the place. There were a couple of regulars in, so it seems to me, based on our meal and obvious repeat customers, this place is all right.

Hidden little secret up in Oracle. Generally a small wait but the tables are always full which speaks to the great food. We also normally go on school holiday, but always worth the wait. Super friendly staff and the prices are great. Food is as good or better as some if the Tucson chain restaurants, and prices have them beat. If you're in the Oro Valllru area it's a sure bet.

We stopped here just by chance, after actually planning to eat somewhere else in Catalina. Glad we did! The parking lot was crowded and the place was hopping when we walked in. We were seated at a table and waited on right away. Our server was down to earth and very friendly. The dining room was clean, fresh homemade pies on display along with postings of several daily specials. The menu contained a good variety, with home cooked offerings of meatloaf, liver and onions, and so on. They also serve breakfast anytime of the day. I ordered a Denver omelet. It was three eggs, cheese, ham, bell peppers and onions. It was very good and more than I could eat. It came with toast but you can choose other options such as biscuits. The wife opted for the hamburger & fries $3.99 special and added a side salad. The salad was standard fare for a side salad, cold, crisp and served with crackers. A lot of places don't serve crackers with salad anymore, not sure why but we both like crackers with our salads. Anyway, the hamburger and fries were yummy she said. The food arrived faster than we expected, actually less than 10 minutes after we ordered it. The server was attentive and checked on us several times. Prices were quite reasonable. I checked out the childs menu on our way out. They offer grilled cheese, hamburgers, chicken tenders, so will bring the kids next time.

Pleasant atmosphere with good food. Wait staff was polite but the menu was misleading in the senior section where they required an "up charge" to get the biscuit advertised with the meal.

Great food and prices. This is a neat diner type of place. Not fancy but reminds me of something you would see in the south. The food is very flavorful and you will not go away hungry. They have mid-week breakfast and lunch specials that are pretty cheap. Good service and even being busy my coffee cup never goes empty.

There are certainly occasions where I want a unique breakfast experience. But, most of the time, I just want a quick, convenient meal at a good price, with good service. That is precisely what this place is.

Been here a few times and food and service were always decent. This time we walked in and stood at the front door for a couple minutes. Finally a skinny lady in glasses said hi and she would be right with us. We stood and waited probably 5 minutes with one other server walking by and saying she would be right with us. We are still standing there and the girl behind the register is eating a cookie. So I decided to seat myself, this must have made them mad because we sat at a table for a while with no one coming over. A server finally came over and took our order. Food came out and the home fries were inedible. Then we sat and sat without drink refills. It was not a pleasant experience.

Totally disgusting breakfast and will never, ever return to that dumpy place. Once upon a time this place was okay but through the years it has completely declined. The omelet I ordered was more like a watered down, malnourished cheap crepe. The hash browns were frozen with an attempt to fry them to warm up for serving. All of this for a price that was not worth even 25¢. This place needs to close down or start over!!

If you are looking for a friendly and reliably good American Diner/Cafe experience with a staff that is always in a good mood for you, this is the place to go to! When friends from Europe are over I usually take them out to the Sunny Side Up Cafe, not only because it is a typical American food experience, but also because the bang for the buck is right and the service is ALWAYS awesome. It is really like the staff there has the ability to leave their troubles behind and be in a good mood as soon as they step in. And that transfers to the customers without a doubt as well! Their pies are amazing and on certain days you can have a great burger with fries, etc. for the price you would pay at a fast food chain joint. However, their burgers are definitely better. The lettuce and tomatoes are always fresh and the fries are made of real potatoes and not Mc D plastics. The Sunny Side Up did not try to reinvent the wheel, but what they do, they do very very well! Their hot chocolate comes with one refill and is always made with a great deal of love and enough whipped cream, if you want to. Oh, yes, their portions are definitely of the right size! It is not too little and not overwhelmingly too much. The ambience is very similar to a diner with the exception that they do not have booths, as far as I can remember. If you want that nice neighborhood feeling during your dining breakfast or lunch experience, this is a great place to find it at.

This place exceeded mine and my bff's expectations, the staff was friendly, genuine, and very welcoming. I loved the old charm of the place, it reminded me of grandma's kitchen, the food was great and portions were well worth its price. We're from out of town, passing through and looking for the typical food chain diners but then stumbled across this on Yelp and decided to give it a try, best decision I've made today. I asked my bff "what she was rate this place" and like me she said "4". I asked why a 4 and not a 5? She said because she hasn't tried everything yet :) So with that we'll definitely be coming back the next time we're passing through.

Good all American breakfast. Nice customer service from waitress. Excellent customer service from woman who cashed me out. The only complaint that brought it from a 4 star to a 3 star is my glass had lipstick and the man behind me had lipstick on his coffee cup. Oh and the waitress forgot about us after bringing us coffee but then came back and apologized but forgot she had our area. My biscuits and gravy were awesome! The half order was plenty :)

Nice staff, quick service and a comfortable place. The food (eggs and ham) was good but on the greasy side. I will definitely hit the place for breakfast again when I am in the area.

I ate here for the first time today and have to say, I am really a fan (almost got 5 stars!). As others have said, the staff is very genuine and friendly and the atmosphere, though like a diner, has a nice old-school American charm to it. I have to say I also liked that it seemed clean and there was a lot of natural lighting. They had a number of pies displayed that looked enticing as well. I had the french toast with eggs and bacon and my friend had a giant omelet. Everything was great, warm and nothing overcooked. The reason I only gave it 4 stars was because I found my portion a little small compared to other breakfast places, but to be fair, I'm a big eater. For the typical person, it likely would have been just right! Looking forward to going back and trying their lunch and dessert options!

My husband and I stopped here for breakfast. We both had the breakfast burritos and they were big. Great food for reasonable price.

The vegetable scramble is my favorite! I get that just about every time I'm there. Also great is the Catalina special. The menu is awesome; there's something for even the pickiest of eaters (me!)! Everyone who works there is so friendly and treats you like family. The restaurant has a small town feel, with so many great homey touches. It's a breakfast-lovers heaven!

This is one of my favorite eateries. The breakfast is better then your typical diner and the service is usually really good. Sometimes there is a wait and it is always busy in there if not. One thing I like is the staff does not change all that much, same faces seem to stick around. I think that speaks volumes for the business and its leadership. If your passing through the area, or live nearby its worth checking out.

Ate here for the first time today and it was great. There was a special of French toast with toasted coconut and walnuts, just right and delicious. Service was also great, server was always one step ahead on brining coffee and checking on us and the place was packed.

Hearty portions, friendly service and reasonable prices. I found the hash browns and chicken fried steak to be a little bland, otherwise everything was very tasty"

My favorite nearby breakfast eatery. Also good for lunch. Never had a bad meal here and the service is very good. This place is almost always busy but worth three wait.

The staff is really friendly and the food is really good. The service is fast. The parking lot is large enough and they even have motorcycle parking as well. They have very limited outside seating. This s a great place to eat, visit with friends and have a great meal.

Today was my second trip to Sunny Side Up. I wasn't feeling my best unfortunately (who knew you could get altitude sickness in Arizona??), but I was still able to partake in some yummies. Due to the upset stomach I had tried the french toast. I really wanted the biscuits and gravy again, but alas, trying to be good. My mom however had the breakfast quesadilla. It was huge. I can't believe she finished it. The place was once again packed, but deliciously warm inside. Hopefully during my next trip I'll be well enough to enjoy food once again!

Always makes you feel at home whether youre a local or just passing through. Superb breakfasts, fast service and the friendliest waitresses in the world. Biscuits and gravy are to die for....yummmmm.

We've been going for breakfast here for years. It is very popular with the locals and for good reason. Good food, reasonable pricing, clean and the waitresses are just great. Most have been there for years and know their customers. Very homey feel. They have bike racks outside and we often ride our bikes there in warm weather because it opens early. One of our favorite places!

Breakfast was delicious. The pancakes, bacon, and omelettes were cooked just right. The restaurant was very busy on a Saturday morning, and although we had a short wait for a table, it took awhile for our food to arrive.

We view this place as a breakfast joint. Nothing fancy. Good hearty basic breakfasts. Friendly staff. Good prices. A big plus is that they serve breakfast all the time. That's a big plus for us. Breakfast is the best meal of the afternoon.

This is one of those great old-fashioned American breakfast / lunch places. Food is simple but excellent; service is fast, efficient and very friendly. HIGHLY recommended!

We had breakfast here for the first time. We had their special: peach-walnut waffles. Very good! This cafe is a old-fashioned American cafe. The food is simple, but good. The service is friendly, fast and helpful.
