We went in tonight. The tv's were on very loud. 4 channels all competing with each other, and the manager changing channels with the volume getting louder. It was so hard to even think in there. We ordered our food. I had about enough of the noise when I told my husband lets go. He said we should stay, we ordered food. Shortly there after our food showed up. My meal was just what I ordered. My husband started eating his and notice there was no bacon on his sandwich. Opened up the sandwich the meat and bread were right the rest of the sandwich was completely wrong. We called over the waitress we asked her for the correct sandwich. She apologized. While waiting my husband ate his French fries . The waitress came back and said we are out of bacon. unhappy with them not saying anything looked at the menu for something else. We didn't see anything. We asked for the check. Told them we'd pay for the French fries. Waitress said or I could just take his meal off all together. We said that would be great. Then she said, you did eat part of the sandwich I need to ask my manager. ( manager never came by to say anything to us the whole time) of course we were charged for the fries. I let the waitress know that was not cool just to makeup any sort of sandwich serve it without saying anything. I was not happy.

I really wanted to give this place 3 stars, but the kicker that made me decide on two was the service. Despite it not being too crowded, my party waited several minutes just to be seated. It took another several minutes for the server to come take our order. While waiting for the food we asked about the bread, and she said she "forgot to heat them". More on the bread in a bit... As we sat there for over a half hour waiting for our food (which by our order and with how many people were there, it seemed about time to get our food), we asked when it would be ready. Our server (she was a tall blonde in about her mid-late 20's) reprimanded us that she was. It the cook and she could do nothing to "speed up" our order and stormed off before we could respond to that. The party sitting next was happy to have another waitress (who we wished we had). The food comes out but she serves our four-person party with zero words. Even saying "thank you" for putting the plate down didn't get a word of her. She took off as soon as the forth plate went down. Halfway through our meal, the bread finally arrived. And was it warm? No, no it wasn't. The food itself is pretty good. My steak was well-seasoned and the rice pilaf and house salad was both good in quantity and quality. This despite my order of medium well and getting it medium rare (did she speed my order to get me a medium rare steak? I wasn't the one in the party who asked about when the food would arrived!). I also tried the grilled shrimp which was small but good. I took a few bites out of the sirloin steak sandwich and that was also very good. While the food was good, I know that I can get the same good tasting food with a few extra minute drive into Tucson for cheaper. This also without the loud noise. This place is a hit for the nightlife, but this review is for its restaurant service only. But I did notice what other Yelp reviewers are saying about the Bartender and staff talking to each other more than to customers. This is why I am giving it two stars. I do feel bad giving not-so-good reviews, but bad service can ruin what could have otherwise been a better experience and a better review.

While out running errands with my husband and twin toddlers, we decided to try this place out. We are just leaving now after waiting over an hour for our meals to come. We asked for our daughters' order to be put in right away, which the server did. Their meal did come out fairly soon, to their credit, but the mac and cheese was so bland and tasteless that my girls (who will eat cardboard books at home if given the chance), would only eat one noodle each. They did better with the chicken tenders. Luckily, we had ordered an appetizer, so we had something to munch on while we waited for our entrees (cobb salad with salmon for him, southwest salad and a cup of cream of mushroom soup for me). The server brought out my soup, and it was anything but creamy. It was so runny and tasteless that I sent it back. By the time I had gone through two lemonade refills and our server was bringing us boxes for the girls' meals, we were still waiting for our salads. By this time, our toddlers had had enough of being stuck in their chairs for an hour and a half, so when our server said the orders were just about ready, we asked her to just box them up and bring us the check, since we were not going to be able to eat. We are now driving home with our orders boxed up (I peeked, and they looked anything but worth the wait, particularly as they forgot my husband's salmon)- we can only hope they taste better than they look. We will definitely NOT be returning, and would not recommend this place to anyone.

This is a good place. Service is quick and helpful. On the weekends they have some fun live music and dancing... it's a good alternative to some of the other options in Tucson. Overall, I recommend this place and will be back next time i'm in town.

I'd give this place a one star if were not for the nice atmosphere, the large number of TV screens and the very accommodating waitress that had served us. I ordered the signature martini for $9 and for the first time had to return a drink because it was such a lousy pour; it barely was half a martini glass full, and they were not large martini glass. The waitress mentioned that she questioned the amount in the glass, but the bartender said that's the way they pour their drinks. So, I asked for the happy hour bar brand martini and that came out with slightly more. It was only $5 so I was somewhat appeased. We ordered the steamed mussles, shrimp cocktail and crab cakes for appetizers. Yes, I know, this is in the middle of the desert so why order seafood? I understand the airplanes delver this stuff to Tucson so I thought it should be OK. Wrong. Small dried out mussels, fishy smelling shrimp, albeit had an acceptable taste and texture and two tiny crab cakes that weren't great, but not awful like the mussels. Since I was still hungry, I order the rib eye special which came with a chile sauce that I fortunately asked for on the side since it was terrible tasting, like it came out of a jar. The steak was of poor quality with about 1/3 needing to be cut off (gristle, fat, etc). It did not have a good sear and did not have good flavor. If you go, just go for a game and sip on a beer.

I went to Skybox on Thursday with my husband to watch the football game. We wanted something different and better than your standard Bdubs. We were very impressed with Skybox! We got there just in time for happy hour (ends at 6), which includes $4 wells and $1 off glasses of wine. My husband and I were pretty hungry, so we split the chicken lettuce wraps for an appetizer. We really liked them, and I probably could have gotten that for my meal. I had a salad and and my husband had a sirloin sandwich for the entree. We both were pleased with our meals. There service was good as was the atmosphere. It was much nicer than a regular sports bar, and the view of the southern mountains was great!

I went here a few months ago, and have been meaning to Yelp about it for a while! I grabbed some dinner here with my parents during graduation weekend. My dad and I were craving some wings, and I thought this place would deliver. Ehhhh not quite! We were there on a Sunday rainy evening, so it wasn't that crowded, however the service was very slow. Also, when we were seated, our table needed a wipedown (there were some saucy leftovers and just an overall greasy feeling). The wings ended up being so-so, and my dad and I agreed that they would have been warmer. My mom ordered the sliders as an entree which she reported were "good," but again luke-warm. The views from inside were quite nice, and I could see the restaurant's potential for fun to watch the big game with a group of friends. However, I'm not sure I will be back given the slow service and grimy furniture.

Ugh I live the 80s night in Friday nights but horrible service, waitress was so rude and I'm a waitress myself and she was just do un called for, waited 45 mins to get a iced tea!

I am updating my review. Service was on point, food was delicious, drinks were amazing, and to top it all off a 80's cover band and ,y friends and I danced the night away! Loved the food and the ambiance. This place is great and non threatening which I like. Super pleased plus we just found out they have 70's night super stoked to check that out as well. Awesome, awesome, awesome!

Not a bad place to catch a game however for a "sports bar" they don't have all the packages to watch. The food is better then u would except for a bar and the atmosphere is nice with granite bar tops and several LCD and projector TV's.

Based on my recent experience there, I had mediocre food, but terrible policy enforcement as far as people smoking on the balcony. There are people wandering out to the balcony to have a smoke while others are eating their food. If there is no smoking allowed inside the restaurant, then why is it not strictly enforced on the balcony, since it is still a dining area but outside? There is a sticker on the door to the balcony that states, "No smoking between 5 and 10 PM." I don't think I will go back, unless staff enforces the rules in a more strict manner.

    (3)
  • Leo B.

I'd give this place 4 stars if they would keep the smoking off the balcony which has a great view of the city. Good bar food and lots of TVs.

  • Jen W.

Burgers and shoestring French fries. Love this place! It is a nice place inside, almost like a mini country club. But, wow, if you can find a coupon, you can save around $15 for two at lunch. Most entrees are $8-10, and they really do the chopped salad right. They have a few TVs playing sports games on. I definitely recommend Skybox.

    (5)
  • Anne W.

The problem with the Skybox is that they don't know what they are and so their service suffers for it. It wants desperately to be a sports bar. It has lots of flat screen TVs showing sports so that part works and it's probably why they get so many sports fans there. However, it's not a sports bar. Sports bars don't dim the mood lighting and have waitresses run around wearing all black. Everything in the decor (save for the TVs) screams fine dining. Sports bars don't fine dining. The menu is a mixture as well. It has the requisite bar food but then it has food that is decidedly upscale. It just doesn't know what kind of a restaurant it is. We've been there a number of times, always for dinner but will probably not be going back to eat. Instead, we'll do take-out. Their food is excellent, their service stinks. The first time we went, there was a fundraiser for a local political candidate. The service was terrible so we wrote it off to the crowd of politicos and politico wanna-bes. However, every time we've been back, the service has been equally poor so it's definitely part of their culture. The waitresses are rushed and harried. They only stop by your table to take your order (preferably you order your drink and food at the same time so they don't have to be bothered with coming back), they deliver your drinks, deliver your food and deliver your bill. That's it. Good luck getting anything else from them. The service is slow. After you place your order, it can be 10 minutes before you see water or your drinks. Two times, we've been charged for things we ordered but never got. But, the food is very good. My husband and I have been searching for good wings since we got here. We have tried a lot of places and this is my favorite in town. My husband likes one other place better but calls this a "close second". They are "wet" wings as opposed to the dry wings at the other place which is why I prefer them. I've also had dinner salads, steaks and chicken. It's all been very good. I would definitely recommend the food but unfortunately, the service makes us not want to go back. So, we hit on a solution. I call them and order the food and my husband picks it up on the way home. We've never had a problem with their take-out. It's always been ready when they say it will. They give us what we order and it's still hot when my husband gets home. Their website is a bit awkward to navigate but it has their menu and the prices are accurate. It solved our problem of liking the food and hating the service and we are happy.

It's bar food..... In fairness, its not bad bar food... Its pretty good. Its not a place you will be going out of your way to hit but if you are on the north end and looking for bar food, you could do worse..

I guess it all depends on what you order. On a follow -up visit, we discovered the burgers. HOLY GROUND COW! Skybox does burgers right! Big and juicy with lots of topping selections. I got the peppered bacon and cheddar burger. I was able to complement it with onion rings... at no extra cost. Wife got the Californication burger with her favorite, steak fries. That came with avocado, bacon and a bunch of other goodies. She opted to delete the grilled onions. Both burgers were very good. Even though we may have been semi-disappointed on earlier visits this one was a winner. Skybox will most likely become our go-to burger stop.

Went here for dinner with some friends and was not disappointed. The food was excellent, I ordered the stuffed chicken and it was amazing! The service was great as well, our waitress was very attentive and friendly. I will definitely be coming here again.

Sitting near the foothills this place is in a good location. Not too much traffic. The bar is pretty neat and I have been lucky enough to have been here a few times where people buy shots for everyone at the FULL Packed BAR!! Pretty neat. Ambiance is not really so much as a sports bar as it is a little more elite feel to it. Good crowd as well.

  • Mariam M.

I have ordered from here inside the restaurant, and take out orders as well. Food is great, however, even when the restaurant is empty the service is very slow! Both times I came here we waited at least an hour for our food, and it took a miracle to track down a waiter. I will not be coming here again to sit and eat, but I will be back for take out.

Four of us St Patricks day. Barely made happy hour for one round. Great views on the deck. Service was great. Food great too. Dare I say "Great"? I'm from Oregon but was with locals. I was really surprised to see some negative reviews so I say, try it and judge for yourself!

Used to be our favorite neighborhood bar for a drink and occasionally food. The price of a glass of Kendall Jackson went from $7 to $9! Outpriced a regular customer. We also liked the old menu much better.

the husband had some coworkers moving out of state and they had a going away party at skybox on a sunday. they have karaoke starting at 9:30PM with pretty good drink specials and apps. you can check out their full schedule on their website. this was a pretty nice place!

Sounds like the food is yummy/service dismal. Only go there for a drink in the afternoon. Bartender ladies are attentive/professional/friendly. New to Tucson - I've not found another up-scale bar. From Northern CA & used to the best. In mid-afternoon wkdys - folk eating at the bar are well served/happy. Drinks strong & a quiet older crowd - suits me just fine...

So last night the hubby and I got the itch to head out in search of some adult fun...but OH my, I guess leaving home at almost 11pm is just too late to be getting started on a Friday night in Tucson, because after driving around for 45 minutes in our general area...let's see, we covered Sunrise, Campbell, Broadway, Speedway and Tanque Verde and couldn't find a single place to get our party started! Well in all fairness, there were a couple options but not quite what we were looking for, and plus we did not want to venture too far from home. So feeling pretty defeated we were headed home when i remembered seeing a sign to this place on our many trips down River road so we made a last ditch effort and turned into the complex. Sure enough we could hear music and folks chattering away. SCORE! Cool spot, very welcoming with a great live band rocking the house, and the dancing crowd was over 21...another SCORE! Had a couple good drinks, the Appletini was yummy and sufficiently strong and so was the Berry Margarita and the two drinks my hubby had, I can't remember what they were. SCORE! Only disappointment was the dude at the door told us the kitchen was still open (I really wanted an App or two with my drinks) but alas, the waitress said the kitchen had just closed 10 minutes earlier at midnight. But when I kept asking if there was anything at all she could do, she caved in and brought me some chips and salsa...the salsa was good and the multicolored chips were fresh...so another SCORE! We ended up staying for about an hour and half, interacted with some cool folks, people watched, laughed, chatted, bobbed to the music, watched music videos we haven't seen before on several large screen TVs and generally enjoyed being away from the kiddos for a little while. SCORE! Cool place, close to home, good drinks, and live music, SCORE!

The hubby and I met here for dinner midweek. It had been a while since our last visit. We weren't particularly impressed before but wanted to give them another chance. Taking a cue from Mark S. I ordered a burger - jalapenos and onions for me - and the onion rings (which were a $3 up-charge). The first bite of the burger seemed a bit salty, but it didn't seem so bad after a few more bites. It's not the best burger I've had but certainly not the worst. The onion rings were quite good. Hubby had the rib-eye steak with peppercorn sauce. The steak was tender, and the sauce tasty. The sides were decent. The seasoning on both of our dishes was a bit overdone. Like they are trying too hard, and the true flavor of the food doesn't come thru. I think we consumed enough garlic in that one sitting to fend off vampires for a month. Service was good. No complaints there. The atmosphere is nice. The ambiance is more upscale than a typical sports bar.

The first time we went here, we sat at a table in the bar and were not greeted or acknowledged by anyone for 20 minutes. So I went up to the bar, where the bartender refused to meet my eye for another 10 minutes while chatting with regulars, until finally one of the regulars yelled at him and pointed to me waiting. I asked if we had a server and the bartender curtly said yes and another 5 minutes later a girl came over. That wasn't too impressive. But we've been there a few times since and the service has been better. The food is...okay. Lettuce wraps that were very salty. Fish and chips that were very greasy. Friends seemed to like their food. It's a little expensive but it's also a fairly well-off clientele for the most part. We've gone there for sporting events on TV and it's kind of a weird mix of old people having dinner, families with kids, and then a few randoms like us watching the games and cheering loudly. I guess that describes a lot of restaurants in Tucson, though.

Sad that yet another superstar facility is staffed by people the should not be in a sports bar! There is no energy. Slow service and a give a s**t level of 2. I'm sure it's struggling now and when it closes maby the guys that lost all the $$ will look back at the reviews and say hmmmm

The server we had decided to give herself an extra $5 tip on her bill with my credit card when I had already tipped over 15% on a bar bill. I've called to talk to the manager eight times in 24 hours but won't take my calls about the situation. So beware of your credit card the servers will take advantage

I'm not really a sports-bar person, but Skybox is pretty hip. Best thing: Location! Love the views and it is surprisingly central (at least in my life). Such a nice atmosphere: all ages, all interests. It takes work to make a place feel this welcoming. I've not tried a lot of food here, but everything I've had has been fine, nothing special. Drinks are good, reasonably priced. Service is sketchy, especially as it gets busier. I've been here a couple times with live music - fun! It seems so big until there are a hundred people trying to dance. Can't wait to come back!

Best way to describe it is like an upscale Risky Business. Kind of hidden away. Atmosphere was nice, awesome view from the patio. Sat inside, but when weather is cooler would request outdoor. Good beer selection. Service was decent. Parking was plentiful in shopping center. Reservations accepted, but not required (at least in middle of week). Food: 3 stars - better than your average sports bar food Service: 3 stars Ambience: 3.5 stars - nice view, a bit loud with the music indoors

This review is based entirely on Sunday night visits for karaoke with friends and co-workers. Food: I've ordered one thing in my visits; steak fries. You really can't mess them up, and they hit the table hot & steamy, crisp on the outside, and with plenty of flavor/spices. I don't go here for the good, though, so enough about that. Drinks: $3 well you-call-its on Sunday nights, as well as $2 domestic pints, IIRC. My standard drinks, tequila or amaretto sours, have been strong and tasty. My group usually grabs a couple of tables together and Jessica, our server, is very attentive and takes care of us. She's awesome. One complaint though; a lady in our group was charged the wrong price for a Malibu-and-something by the bartender. We asked the servers and were told that the correct price is $5.25, so we were kind of sketchy about what was going on w/ the bartender's pricing. Not too sure what that was about, but keep an eye on your bill/tab before you pay at the bar. Karaoke is fun, the DJ is a funny guy, and they have a very wide selection of classics songs from every genre as well as a lot of recent hits. I have a feeling this will become our new weekly spot for karaoke and drinks after work. Plus, the owner sings! I might have missed it last time, but the previous week he sang a song which I thought was pretty cool. Also, some of the regulars are powerhouses with great voices that raise a good cheer from the other customers. Note: the speakers are VERY loud. I will make sure we sit farther from them the next time we go, because my ears were ringing by the time we left. It's not painful, but I won't be by them again.

When we got there there the cover was 10 bucks so we told the guy at the front that we weren't going to stay. Just check it out for a few so he took our ID's. He was a good guy, we ended up staying longer then we thought;) It was pretty crowded and the 80's bad was pretty neato! There were lots of geriatrics in the house but it was no big deal. The partay stopped for a bit while 50 cops (about 6 but it seemed like a lot) and 5 EMT's came in the club to tend to one drunk guy. I know!! One cop would have been totally fine! It took 20 mins to get the drunk paid up and out, by then it was too late. People left and the partay fizzed out. Other then that I'll go back, when I want to feel like a sardine and pick up on some old hot chicks:) Oh..I already have a couger so maybe in my next life:)

It was good. Went with friends for live music. Food was decent and prices were reasonable. Lots of TV screens. I'd go back. We had a lavash crisp and it was very good. I had a burger that was good although a little over cooked, my wife had the sliders which were very over cooked. A friend had the meat loaf, which was excellent along with the mashed potatoes. Even his veggies looked fresh and well cooked.

The downward slide continues at the Skybox. On this visit I ordered the half chicken half shrimp plate. Both the shrimp and the chicken were brown to the point of being cremated - no moisture left. Something must be done to get the kitchen back on point. Maybe they should be re-trained at Lucky Wishbone. My two stars is totally for the waitresses which I find A-OK. One more failure at this establishment and I am gone forever.

Skybox is in a primo location as this area desperately needed a venue of this sort. How they finagled the necessary permits next to an assisted living facility is beyond me, and as the residents' balconies are clearly visible (and thus within earshot) from the patio, I couldn't help but wonder if the senior set is as enamored with "Harden My Heart" as the enthusiastically nostalgic crowd inside. A commercial was being shot in Skybox when we went, so maybe the klieg lights tainted my view of the atmosphere, but the main dining area was indistinguishable from an Applebee's and a short wall separating the bar and dining area was placed too close to the bar leaving too little space to move around. We didn't try the food, but jumbo fries and sandwiches whizzing out of the kitchen looked tasty. The band was decked out in eighties attire as were a few in the crowd. And the crowd...turtleneck-wearing middleaged dudes and desperate housewives sprinkled with a few wannabe prep school kids. If you want old dudes to drool over your boobs, they are up to the task here. The drinks were nondescript and watery, and one would have to spend a chunk of change to get tipsy enough to make one of those lizardy hipsters seem interesting. As for the balcony, the view of the city is sparkling. I can't imagine one would want to dine in a smoke cloud and no one was eating out there when we visited. It is mildly entertaining to watch the husky AARP set rediscover their inner ABBA, though.

Great food but the servers are inattentive. They also dress tacky. I do like their menu though, you'll find a little of everything. If you have the time to wait an hour for your food, this is the place for you.

Atmosphere was amazing. Beautiful sunset view of the city. Cover band was awesome and energetic. Best salad I've ever had. Our waitress kept out drinks full and checked in on us even though they were very busy. I have nothing bad to say. If you're looking to dance, have great food and have a good time, come to the Skybox Restaurant and Bar.

Great food. Good service as long as you're not there after dinner. It's common for my friends and I to wait at least 45 minutes for service on a dead Sunday night.

This was such a disappointing meal. There were 7 people at our table and only 3 tables total on a Saturday at noon. The food was poorly prepared (overcooked) and extraordinarily SLOW - over thirty minutes for a cup of soup for one member of our party. Everything about the experience was lackluster. I would not recommend this place, at least for dining. There are better options available.

We did a double date in a Friday night. Dinner and dancing to the 80's band. Food was very good; two of us had prime rib, one had ny strip steak and one had fish and chips and all of it was very good!! Band was awesome and service was on point! We'll definitely go again!!

Great views, mediocre food/drinks/service; for a Sports Bar it is not set up great for all tables to view sporting events. AMBIENCE: 3.5 stars. The views alone are incredible--great look over the city. There is a nice patio (if it's not too hot outside!) SERVICE: 2.5 stars. The restaurant was SLOW when we went, and it still was difficult to get our server's attention, the food took longer than expected, and it took awhile to get our server back to our table, get the check, etc. FOOD: 3 stars. Decent upscale-sports bar type menu. Lots of meat and fried things, salads are not great or inspired. ALCOHOL: 2 stars. The bar itself looks fine, but the drinks are typical sports bar stuff. OVERALL: 3 stars. Good for quick bite after work, good for families.

Eh i understand why there was only one other customer here. The bartender was more interested in talking to the other guy at the bar than serving us. I ordered their signature margarita off the specialty drink menu and got just a regular marg. If you offer a drink menu, at least follow the recipe please. I love the location and the patio is pretty awesome. I will possibly go back and try the food.

I can't comment on the food, as we were never served! We apparently found ourselves in the middle of a feud between the server and the cooks. We waited an hour before being told our food was not being cooked. Our server informed us that she was quitting and gave us our drink bill. The manager never even came over to explain the situation or to try to make it right. So now I guess we'll finish watching the Wildcats win and go get dinner somewhere else. Don't think I'll be back here any time soon. This would have been a different review if the manager on duty would have taken a second to care about his customers!

A good time sports bar. Friday nights serves up live music by 80's & Gentlemen, a performance band that the patrons love. Dance floor is always packed with a diverse respectful crowd. A great way to spend Friday nights Just read some bizarre reviews for Skybox. I always see a diverse age group there on Friday nights. Afternoons draw the golfers to the sports bar. I thoroughly enjoy the ambience and city twinkling lights, but usually we are engrossed in good conversation and lively dancing. The bands on Saturdays vary. Look for Grind and Tesoro, great music.

Came back again, same horrible service. No change in the horrible service. Again the only good thing about this place is 80's and gentlemen the Friday night band. DO NOT EAT HERE FOR DINNER! !!!

This place has great potential. In a new area, nice shopping center, very nice interior - lots of TVs and a dance floor. The food was just not good. We got pretty simple meals, pasta and a sandwich. The crowd here was honestly all 50+. I'm guessing that's because of the senior living center next door. I wish this place was good because it's location is so close and like I said I think it has a lot of potential! Honestly I think they need to give Robert Irvine a call from Restaurant Impossible. Until then, I don't think I'll be back.

Awful food. Tastes like they make no effort except to open cans and take food out of the freezer. The service was awful and the octogenarian owner creeps on his female staff constantly. I went here with some friends to watch a game and was not impressed at all. Great location otherwise everything else falls flat.

Can I give a place negative stars for terrible service? Because that would be awesome right now. Ignored 3 times at the bar and forgotten by a cocktail waitress. Enough. Don't waste your time, go somewhere with good service! I've written enough good reviews about other places that there's no reason to bother with this place. Music? Meh. Drinks? Average. Setting? lovely view off the balcony-of a parking lot. (ooh, very fancy!) Patrons were very fun loving and kind, I'll give the place that. But only because I have no reason to insult a group of strangers. Value? You can find better drinks at a more pleasant and accommodating venue, that's for sure, and if you can't, it's time to leave Tucson! Snobby wait staff who made it quite miserable for me-so much so that I actually complained to the manager who offered to get me my water that I had been waiting on (and being ignored for). What a relief! He offered me a water!

If you like the 80's you'll have to stop by for their Friday night 80's band! If you're nice to the host, find out their no-cover secret word for the month. I tip generously so I learned that's their rule. I love the music and it's so much fun, yet their dance floor is VERY small. They should move the tables back so there is a larger dance floor. The drinks are a decent price and not too strong, just right. I ate here too and it was decent bar food. I like it a lot and hope you will like it too!

Went with a friend after a recommendation that this was a top sports bar in town. The interior was nice and about half filled with the Final Four on the tv. I should have known right there something wasn't quite right. The menu was very small and not a sports bar type menu. I would like to tell you how the drinks or the food were but after fifteen minutes of not even being acknowledged, we got up and left.

An overpriced Famous Sams. The band Evolution was great. The Lack Of Service Is not. The management must be to blame. Waitstaff stand around the entrance while the bar is slammed, slammed because the tables are ignored. I had to order food from the bar, tipped well thinking that would trigger good service. My food took an hour and when I asked about it, clearly had been sitting under a heat lamp the whole time. If you bring your own drinks, you'll have fun. You might as well go in the kitchen and make yourself something to eat. No one would pay attention.

Woman Sports?? HUH?? So a few of us decided to go somewhere to see the Woman's National Championship (WNC) game. We decided to go to Skybox. I got there early to see if they could put it on the screen if not already. It was on two small TV at not a great angle. I asked the server if she could have the TVs changed to add a few more screens to show the Woman's finals. She said she didn't think it would be a problem since no one (the other three tables) was watching anyway. She needed to ask her manager. She returned to tell me that they could not be changed because they were set to different channels in groups. I ask if perhaps the TV channel could be changed to add a few more to the WNC. I am quite sure that the previous night played the game clearly on all TV as well as any U of A game or Superbowl. She left for a while, again to ask said manager, then I saw her go to a table in a far corner with two men in deep conversation and ask them if they would have a problem if the TV had girls' basketball. The men confirmed that they did not mind. Another 30 minutes (still no beer but I did have water) a couple more TVs were added to show the game. The "big" screen numerous other TVs still had a Tiger Wood's interview. At this time another couple came in as asked if the TV by them would be able to show the WNC. She told them that we also wanted t watch the game and if they wanted to move to the other corner they could see it. They did not want to move. The manager was again consulted and ultimately the big screen and other TVs change to the game. After still not even been given a menu let alone a drink order taken it was difficult not to walk out. However it had been forty minutes and the game had started. The first two beers we requested were not available. The cook substituted blue cheese for feta on the seared Ahi. It was way strong but at this point I had reservations over sending any food back. I did mention it to the waitress near the end of the meal and she said "oh yea that should have been feta." When we asked if we could have juice for the grade school child with us she didn't think they had it. I mentioned that I would venture to guess they likely had cranberry, OJ and tomato juice. She said yes they had OJ then preceded to serve a PINT of OJ for a 6 year old. I wonder looking at the customer reviews if customer service is at all a consideration for business improvement. I felt as though we were not only an inconvenience but a burden. Did I mention the place was near empty? Five tables max at a given time. It's a pity because it really is a great location and atmosphere if you remove the absentee management. YES SKYBOX, woman DO play sports and even men watch them compete.

Skybox tries really really hard to be hip and the in place to be, but it falls very short. I've been here several times, and really gave it an honest shot. The times I have been there, the service has been hit or miss. Once sat at the bar and got ignored for about 10 minutes. The decor is very bland. I can see where they want to be an upscale sports bar, but the decor is nothing special. Sure, hang a bunch of flat screens on the wall and you can call yourself a sports bar. So I guess that makes my house a sports bar. The location was pretty convenient, there is really nothing in that area for the older crowd that don't want to drive to far to get drunk. The Friday night I went there was the weirdest group of people I have ever seen. It ranged from a cowboy in his 10 gallon hat to the older ladies who were still rocking their teased hair and 80's clothes. I didn't even bother to ask for my cover charge back. I just left. Speaking of which, where do they get off charging a cover? Food? Again, nothing special. Pizza was terrible, and the sauce tasted like it came from a can. Great location, great view from the balcony.. otherwise who cares.

Hubby and I love Skybox! The live music, the crowd, the waitresses-I have never had a problem with the place. The crowd is usually a variety of people-mostly in their 30's, 40's and on. It's a non-judgmental kind of place, where everyone comes to have fun, not to show off how hipster they are. People are actually dancing and enjoying themselves, which is the kind of atmosphere my husband and I look for in a bar. The drinks are a little pricey-but I don't mind paying extra. We only ate here once and it was delicious but we really don't come for the food.

"Another one Bites the Dust" ... unfortunately. This establishment and home to many single 50-something bar flies, looks to have closed their doors. Too bad too, as they were the last bastion of live music that isn't country.

My husband and I decided to try to this place out after we got a buy one get one entree coupon. Which unfortunately was finally honored after a long rigamarole... Upon entering the place, we were greeted nicely and found it to be mostly empty for dinner time at 5:30. We opted to sit outside because my husband mentioned a "retirement home" smell to be unbearable. I didn't smell anything. The patio is nice and open, great view of the city and overlooking the terrace. They have cute rope lights around the rails and some heaters available for winter time. We expected to be served slowly because we were the only people outside but to our surprise, we were served in a timely manner and checked upon often. The food I would actually rate 2 stars. My husband on the other hand rates his entree a 5. For appetizers we got the soup of the day, Clam Chowder and Spinach and Artichoke dip. The clam chowder was extremely watery and lacked any flavor, the only plus was huge pieces of clam. The spinach arti dip was also watery and was found to be on the salty side. Both were a let down since we love these two things in particular. I had the Californication for my entree which is a cheeseburger with grilled onions and avocado on sourdough bread. I was hoping for a replica like the one at Ruby's Diner in SoCal, but unfortunately was let down. The onions gave a weird taste to the burger but the bread was phenomenal. Very tasty sour dough. I chose the tator tots for my side and was let down by those too. They're supposedly house made, hand mashed and all. I found the flavor and texture too weird for my taste. Plus they were extremely salty. My husband had the French Dip with tator tots. He raved about his sandwich, but especially the fact that it came on a hoagie roll. I had a bite and found nothing spectacular. He also extremely loved the tator tots. I think what really irked me about this visit was the fact how they almost pulled a fast one on us. Now don't get me wrong, I loved our server, she was very attentive and nice. What happened was, they didn't honor our coupon simply because they couldn't find the button in the computer. Instead they gave us half off one of our entrees and acted like that was extremely generous already. Then they tried to explain that if I read further down the paper it would have said only half off an entree. I knew I did not misread the coupon, for that was the whole reason we came here. So I made them pull out the coupon and I physically read out loud buy one get one free. Then they tried to cover themselves again by how they couldn't find the coupon in their computer. So I asked if they weren't going to honor the coupon at all and by this time the manager had this fed up look on her face and said, "Sure we can do that." So now I'm left with being charged twice and having to wait till I get refunded. I'm glad that they honored it but the situation could have been handled a lot better and they could have told us what was going on instead of making it seem like they honored it. I honestly believe they didn't look at the coupon at all. All in all this is a high end sports bar, filled with the older generation. You may like it, you may not. But don't fall into my shoes and not check your bill before you pay. Yes, it was partially my fault. Unfortunately, we won't be coming back.

Walked in and walked right OUT tonight! Smelled like an old smelly mop! Shame as we normally really liked the steaks here. Went to beautiful patio setting downstairs at Caffe Torino instead. Lovely jazz trio playing on a Thursday evening. You lost us for good Skybox.

My party tried Skybox for a Thursday Night Football game since they have NFL Network. It was wonderful! We were seated immediately and were able to choose a seat near one of their MANY huge screens and were helped fairly quickly after that. We started with a hot spinach-artichoke dip, it was heavenly. Warm cheese with some veggies to make you feel a little less guilty, plus it seemed to have some type of pepper or sun-dried tomatoes in the dip too. I ordered the Southwest chicken sandwich and couldn't get enough. They aren't joking when they say it has a kick to it... tons of jalapeños with the seeds along with a savory chipotle mayo, cheese, and a fresh bun. It was great! Our server was attentive, our beer and water glasses were never empty. Definitely check it out.

READ THIS IF YOU HAVE ENTERTAINMENT BOOK!!! If you intend to use the coupon out of the entertainment book, you cannot use the app because they do not accept the coupon, you MUST BRING IN PRINTED COUPON. While I am frustrated and want to be mad about this breach of the terms on the coupon, they were nice enough to remove one of our items off our bill so I can't really hold it against them. Good food. Nothing amazing but good. Good deal on ribs that are pretty good. Overall good atmosphere but nothing to write home about.

This is a nice restaurant/lounge. I was here for a friend's birthday party and the 80s tribute band was great. The food service was horrible. I think our waiter was either having a bad day or really hated his job. The restaurant knew we had a large group coming but they were ill prepared to handle the group. The waiter did a decent enough job of getting our drink orders. When it came time to order our food he made a comment of trying to coordinate "so he wasn't running around like crazy" Excuse me, if you were more skilled in your job you would know how to handle a large group from the onset. After he took our orders (it took forever) he came out to serve our plates. There was no silverware or napkins. He threw a bunch of utensils on the middle of the table (how's that for class?) then came back and gave us some napkins. Getting a drink refill was more of a joke. A girl helping the waiter was doing her best to help with refills but we were waiting 10-15 minutes just to get our drinks, This venue doesn't know how to adequately handle capacity when the bar/restaurant is full - the people are the bar were blocking the pathway for servers to get their food and drink orders. I am sure the bar loves having capacity - they just need to learn better to manage the crowd or consider moving the band to the front corner of the venue so traffic would allow servers pathway in and out of the kitchen - how's that for a thought? Probably a decent place to go when it's not busy. If you are getting dinner - go early on Friday/Saturday nights.

Great views of Tucson! Reasonable prices for good food. They serve sophisticated dishes so don't be fooled by the sport bar theme! I had crab stuffed prawns with grilled vegetables which was amazing. The vegetables were big and beautiful...I did not miss the carbs with this plate! I sat at the bar because I prefer that atmosphere and the service was absolutely fine. I had no disappointments here!

Not a good experience The menu is outdated service was awful. they waited to tell me when I went to pay that one of my to go orders was no longer on the menu. Why would I take one and not the other. Then the girl blamed everyone else, no sense of responsibility.

Our waitress was super nice but our experience as a whole was less than stellar. We sat in the bar with the intention of watching a football game but we missed 20 minutes of it because the owner, managers and bartenders couldn't agree on which TVs to change. The food was average. It was good but there was nothing special about it. I had high hopes for it because it is close by. Unfortunately, I don't think we'll go back.

Eh i understand why there was only one other customer here. The bartender was more interested in talking to the other guy at the bar than serving us. I love the location and the patio is pretty awesome. I will possibly go back and try the food.

Not a bad place to catch a game however for a "sports bar" they don't have all the packages to watch. The food is better then u would except for a bar and the atmosphere is nice with granite bar tops and several LCD and projector TV's.

Used to be our favorite neighborhood bar for a drink and occasionally food. The price of a glass of Kendall Jackson went from $7 to $9! Outpriced a regular customer. We also liked the old menu much better.

Four of us St Patricks day. Barely made happy hour for one round. Great views on the deck. Service was great. Food great too. Dare I say "Great"? I'm from Oregon but was with locals. I was really surprised to see some negative reviews so I say, try it and judge for yourself!
