Great coffee, and the only place I've found in Tucson that makes good Turkish coffee as well as science coffee (try both and thank me later). Friendly, laid back barista who was nice enough to explain the finer points of coffee to me. Definitely a repeat location.

Please read my previous reviews because what is in them still stands. I am in the process of updating my reviews and reserving 5 stars for experiences where all or almost all the details are spot on. This location has many merits, but it falls short of the 5 Stars for a few reasons. It is just too small for a cafe, so at times there are 7 or even 10 people in line. The WiFi is not consistent, which has become a pet peeve of mine I suppose, but if a business is going to advertise it, then it should carry whatever load the location brings in. Please remember 4 stars is still very good and I will certainly continue to visit this location.

Unfriendly service, overrated product, and rude attitude at the la encantada location. Lousy pastries are old and mass produced! Go to AJ's, or Cartel, dont waste your money!!!

Their coffee is a solid hit every time. I have yet to try something that I didn't enjoy. Extra points for having almond milk as an alternative!! I wish they had more locations than just Broadway (too far East for me) and all the way in La Encantada (not convenient as a quick coffee grab n go).

Somehow, I talked Joseph L into helping me put together both pic and film tutorials about how to: anything coffee. Last night I roasted a spectacular Ethiopian Yirgacheffé with him to explain step by step, what is important about roasting; respect for the coffee, dual stage profile, process to improve consistency, creativity to attain the highest quality. I think I had as much fun going through it as I did, a resurgence of love for sharing knowledge, but Joseph surely was entertained. Somehow one story led to another and @ 1:30am we broke for sleep with jubilation that we'll be bringing something special to Savayan's everywhere. Be prepared to see some amazing How To Guides as well as videos on subjects like; Roasting, Introduction to Barrista, Tasting/Cupping, Grading Green and Roasted Coffee Beans! An amazing night was capped off by a surprise visit from Burc (Owner) with another round of how Savaya was born and has grown since day 1! What a spectacular coffee venue, right here in Tucson!

Love the Broadway location. I would not come back to this one. My latte to go was pretty bad. Coffee tasted burnt and flat, nothing like the other place... I didn't even drink it. Service was friendly.

This place sucks. Old pastries. No customer service. No attention to detail in drinks. Didn't steam milk properly. I could make a nespresso at home wasted out of my mind that tasted better. Plus they want $5 for a capp when the going rate in town at the "good" coffee shops exo and cartel cartel are 3-3.50, a still inflated but decent price.

Wow. I'm hooked. Love the science coffee. Bought some Bali coffee which was also some of the best I've had in awhile, nice blueberry notes. And the service is wonderful, first class all the way. Highly recommend, it will make you give up Starbucks.

Wow! This is the best cup of coffee ever, you can instantly taste the quality of coffee beans. Coffee beans are locally grown and sourced, the 'Science Coffee' takes 16 maliciously timed hours to prepare and it's obvious after the first sip. The lovely attendant mentioned that the owner's family has been growing coffee on Turkey for over 500 years...unparalleled experience! Exceptional coffee and customer service, I will be back before I return to So Cal.

Interesting joint. We had 4 or 5 beverages, hitting on most of their options. Some were winners some were not. No bathroom makes it a tough place to hang out and enjoy a turkish...

When I go to La Encantada, previously the choices for purchasing coffee were across the street at Starbucks, inside of Frost ( who goes there for coffee and doesn't get a cup of gelato to go with!?) or at AJ's Market. I have been three times to Savaya and every time has been an oasis. I have twice enjoyed lattes inside and a one visit I ordered a carmel latte to go(***the best caramel latte I recall having ever). The coffee beans are locally roasted and quite rich in body. Both my husband and I think this place is great. Sadly this place has very little inside space and three outside tables. So if you are looking to pick up a cup and walk around La Encantada, this place is the ticket!

Divine and authentic Turkish coffee. I wish I lived in Tuscon and wasn't just visiting. This would definetly be THE place I get my coffee from.

Never a bad coffee if you go with Savaya. Wish there were more of them out there! The staff is very knowledgable on the coffee topic, I learn something new about coffee every time I swing by.

Great coffee and wonderful service! Baked goods are fresh! Nanette is fantastic! Love Edwin's attitude and customer

We are big fans of Savaya. Their $2 large coffees of the day are a bargain and never fail to be mighty savayatisfying.

Located in La Encantada, this small coffee shop serves up a big coffee. I'd highly recommend their Science Coffee. This is coffee comes out of a wicked looking contraption and I'm told takes 6 hours to brew. It's a cold brew and includes no heat at all and is much more concentrated than your typical brew. It also has less acidity due to this brewing process. Be warned though this shop is small, very small, so having a meeting here isn't something I'd recommend.

Very small little coffee shop. Friendly barrista. I ordered the traditional Turkish coffee, which takes a few minutes to make, but way less time given their technology. Its served in an espresso / tea cup with the grounds settled at the bottom. I drank it the traditional way, black, with no cream or sugar. The barrista also let me try the drip iced coffee which was good too!

Oh my I swear the science coffee is still lingering on my palette! This was my first time here and the coffee was delicious! I do have to say that the little 16oz cup of iced coffee cost more than my usual 32oz chain coffee I drink. It was however perfect for my drive home. If there was a location closer to me it would probably be my desert coffee or my Sunday morning cup.

I'm from Seattle so my coffee expectations are very high. But I can say the almond milk latte I ordered was one of the best I've ever had. Unlike most almond milk lattes this latte was creamy and not watered down. They serve some wicked good and dark brews. I 100% recommend this place to anyone looking for a awesome cup of coffee (even if you're not a coffee brat like me).

So stoked to have Savaya Coffee in the foothills! The only difference is that it's a lot smaller than the Broadway store. The interior is modern and cozy at the same time, the service is friendly as ever, and they have wi-fi here too! I bought a 1/2 pound of their Bolivian Espresso Blend..a little steep at $9.00 but totally worth it in my opinion. Great quality organic free trade coffee beans are always worth the price, and when the service and coffee are so good....price comes last.

I moved to Arizona from Portland, and spent the first three months trying to find drinkable coffee. Not even rave-worthy. Just enough to do the caffeine-kick job in the mornings. I went to every branch of the chains and independent place on my way to work, and eventually gave up. Which wasn't easy, since I had come from a happy latte-a-day habit in Oregon. After consulting the Yelp oracle, I tried my old order at Savaya last week. I have been back every single morning since. Not only is this comparable to connoisseur coffee in the Pacific Northwest, it surpasses the vast majority of it. Artisan-roasted, high-quality beans, subtle flavors, milk without a funk (what is with AZ coffee places and milk-funk!?!?), and water with every last bit of nasty filtered out. Words cannot express how happy I am to have found Savaya, a delicious coffee oasis in the desert. There's not much seating inside, so it's not the writer-hang-out sort of coffee shop. But definitely worth stopping on the way to work, or to get a drink for shopping. Once it's not a furnace in this damn state, maybe it will be pleasant to sit outside. I look forward to the day. But until then, hot latte + air conditioning = perfection.

Always happy to support small and local retailers. First time trying Savaya. Good coffee and good service in the Encantada mall. If in the area, I'd try it again.

It's fairly easy for me to brew myself a good cup of joe at home, but when I go to a coffee shop - I go for more than just good coffee. I go for the atmosphere and comfort. The drip coffee here was good, I did enjoy it, but it was simply good coffee -nothing to drive out the way for in my opinion. It was a little over the top bold for my taste buds, but that wasn't the main issue, rather it was that the shop was just cramped. There is only a single bar where a handful of patrons can sit and a few tables outside. There is nothing about this Savaya that screams comfort. Three people came into this store at once and I thought Tucson PD was going to come and write a ticket for violating it's maximum occupancy. If you just want some coffee and you want it on the go, then by all means make a stop here. But if you are coming to read a book or get some work done, I would suggest avoiding this place. It takes very little for this place to become busy and crowded. I haven't been to the original Savaya...maybe I should check that out.

The second Savaya in La Encantada is the biggest disappointment ever. The tiny space does not welcome you the same way the original location does. And does not have the same equipment for different brewing preparations. Most importantly my cappuccino came in a 16oz cup with warm milk; the milk was not properly frothed and no foam was on top! I'll never come here again.

They serve Turkish coffee, hell yeah! I'm not the biggest fan of our local coffee shops, but now that I've come across this little shop, I'm impressed. The locations are small but the coffee is excellent and it's a relief to not be surrounded by hipsters and wildcats, pretending to be productive on their Mac books. Coming to this shop is almost like an escape from Tucson itself.

I moved to Tucson 6 months ago. I stumbled across Savaya coffee. Wow!!! They roast their own organic beans in house, serve organic pastries and most importantly- have the most interesting customers!!!! The employees really know their coffees and the owner Burc is passionate and enthusiastic about his selection of high quality beans!!!! A great place to hang out. They do coffee tasting classes at the Broadway location. I'm looking forward to the next class:) I highly recommend this place !!!

Savaya Coffee is the best coffee on the face of the earth. We love their coffee so much we drive over 100 miles each way to buy our coffee. I never leave Tucson without visiting one of their locations...just wish they had a store in Phoenix! The bean gurus hit a home run here.

  • Christopher W.

Savaya is doing coffee right. Working at La Encantada gives me the chance to patron here often. The owner visits each of the farms he sources from to ensure that all coffee is fair trade, organic and shade grown. I have heard some complaints about the quality of the espresso beverages from co-workers, but I am old school drip coffee. I do wish they had more serving options, pour over (Chemex) is my fav right now, but I have to settle for regular drip at Savaya. La Encantada needed a quality café. AJs "boulangerie" wasn't cutting it for me. Compare to Cartel. Local roasters doing it right!

Finally... coffee in Tucson worth drinking. By far the best coffee available. At $2.18 for a cup of joe from rare coffee locales around the world, it is worth a try. Their beans are roasted weekly, so you are sure to get a fresh cup. 2 ideas for management - An unlimited brewed coffee club for $30 and offering pour-over (Chemex) coffee to the menu would bring value and variety to your customers.

Skip it...go to AJ's or Starbucks. Unfriendly and uncomfortable...so, so coffee. Bummer, I really wanted to like this place!

Came in on Saturday morning to grab a cup of coffee and got one of the best cups of Turkish coffee I've ever had. The atmosphere of the store is amazing and the staff are friendly and helpful. Even did a ground reading! Would always stop by when I'm in the area.

Burnt and bitter espresso- only one person working both cashier and the machine. I really wanted to like this place.

Yep, this coffee rocks. FANTASTIC tasting coffee. Good service. Lovely location. The only misisng piece to this puzzle is the seating...needs a bit more. There's room outside - put more tables please!!! There is nothing like the taste of a fantastic cup of coffee - not the bitter over priced stuff that Tucson is used to (oh gee, did someone mention Starbucks???). Savaya offers a lovely, fresh cup full of aromatics for a reasonable price. And they offer it with a smile. Again, a big plus. Thank you for this coffee shop in my hood.
